Hibiki Tachibana vs Kasumi Yoshizawa is a What-If? DEATH BATTLE! written by BigShark81913. It features Hibiki Tachibana from Symphogear and Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 in a battle between shy yet heroic girls who witnessed sacrifice.
Description[]
Symphogear vs Persona 5! What would you do for everyone who’s ever meant anything to you? For these two, there’s never been an easier choice. Will Hibiki manage to strike Kasumi down, or will it be her “Last Surprise?”
Interlude[]
[(Now Playing: Wiz and Boomstick - DEATH BATTLE!)]
Wiz: Witnessing death face to face can be a harrowing experience capable of destroying sanity. What would you do if you saw somebody close to you be taken away?
Boomstick: For some, they may rethink their whole lives and decide to better themselves through it! Like Hibiki Tachibana, the hero of the lunar attack.
Wiz: And Kasumi Yoshizawa, the violet gymnast of Shujin Academy.
Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick.
Wiz: And It's our jobs to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Hibiki Tachibana gears up for DEATH BATTLE![]
[(Now Playing: Makyū Ichaival - Symphogear)]
Wiz: Long, long ago, the rulers of humanity, known as the Custodians, decided to remodel the moon into a massive device to control everything. To do it, they embedded a mysterious spell known as the Curse of Balal onto the makeshift moon, which blocked humanity's shared language and caused great disputes. However, this wasn't because of hatred for humanity, this was because of something far, far darker...
Boomstick: The curse was used to prevent the evil goddess Shem-Ha from taking over the globe using the singular language! She provided herself with infinite rebirth abilities to assure her return after death, just like a 10 year old would with cheat codes.
Wiz: Because of the different languages, humanity created devilish beasts known as the Noise to combat each other, which obviously backfired. They were soon after locked into an extra dimensional space called the Treasury of Babylonia using the complete relic Solomon's Cane. They were not thought to ever attack Earth again, until...
Boomstick: Fast forward a buncha years, and you'll meet Hibiki Tachibana, a simple schoolgirl not expecting what is happening next.
Information[]
- Name: Hibiki Tachibana
- Height: 5'9"
- Weight: 154 lbs
- Age: 16
- Likes: Eating, music, more eating
- Dislikes: Noise, Shem-Ha, pain
- Current user of the Gugnir
Boomstick: Hibiki would go on living a normal life like one does, until-
Boomstick: -she fucking died? Didn’t we just start?
Wiz: Well, not exactly, Go back about two years ago, and you'll see what happened. Hibiki and her best friend Miku Kohinata were supposed to go to a concert together featuring the pair's favorite band: Zwei Wing.
Boomstick: Unfortunately, while listening to shitty pop music, the crowd of people was suddenly attacked by the Noise, who had unironically escaped their prison and ran rampant throughout the streets. The place was wrecked, and there was little chance of hope whatsoever.
Wiz: As Hibiki was attempting to flee, a piece of the crushed stage fell and hit her in the knee. Before the Noise could kill her, however, Kanade, one of the singers, hopped in the way to buy time for Hibiki’s escape. She began to fight the Noise, but a fragment of her weapon fell and impaled Hibiki in the chest, nearly killing her. As she falls unconscious, she sees the Noise kill Kanade.
Boomstick: About two years later, Hibiki wakes up during surgery and realizes that she is still alive. Damn, waking up in surgery? Already unlucky to be in there in the first place, but still.
Wiz: However, when she is changing in her locker room, she hears the scream of a little girl, and sees her being attacked by the Noise. Hibiki hastily rushes out to save the young child, but she finds herself cornered by the Noise. Quickly, she tries to do what Kanade did in this situation, and she began to sing.
Boomstick: Fortunately for Hibiki, the song managed to save her sorry ass and channeled into the fragment stuck in her chest. This activated the Gugnir, also known as her Symphogear.
Wiz: However, due to her lack of experience, she was almost killed by the Noise… again, but this time, she was saved by Tsubasa, Kanade’s old partner. As the Noise were defeated, Tsubasa would hire Hibiki as the official user of the Gugnir and heir to Kanade.
Boomstick: As all the thin nerds turned intoheroes do, Hibiki had one thing on her mind: training. Seriously, she decided to pull a Karate Kid and phone up the strongest geezer on this side of Coolsville.
Wiz: This man was named Genjuro Kazanari, the commander of S.O.N.G. and uncle of Tsubasa. She begins to grow in skill and becomes powerful enough to rip punching bags in two with her blows. She also discovered more about S.O.N.G. and the fact that they used teenage girls in their operations to keep it all more secretive.
Boomstick: Apparently, children don’t give secrets out to anybody else! Kinda ironic, seeing as how I’ve had a different experience…
Wiz: She would continue her simple training… for far too many seasons, until one day, something happened that would change her life forever. The S.O.N.G. corporation soon discovered the mummified corpse of Shem-Ha, and while bringing it back to their headquarters, the corpse was accidentally destroyed and only the vambrace on the right arm stood. It was snatched by the nasty Vanessa Diodati, who brought it back to her crew for an evil experiment.
Boomstick: Turns out, the crew known as the Noble Red kidnapped Miku and decided to use her as a lab rat for their test. However, when they used the vambrace on Miku, it revived Shem-Ha in her body! Plot twist, amirite. With a nasty plan to return the world to the way it was 5,000 years ago, Shem-Ha brought the mystical Yggdrasil from space down to Earth, which had control over everything to ever exist on the big blue planet.
Wiz: Desperate, Hibiki and S.O.N.G. rush to the mysterious creation to defeat Shem-Ha and save Earth, however, it was too late. She had gained control of the planet. However, hope did still remain.
Boomstick: Wiz, stop being so cheesy! You’re going to turn into an 80’s Jim Henson film!
Wiz: …anyways, when Hibiki and gang went to confront Shem-Ha, they had an epic grueling battle until she noticed the never ending love between Miku and Hibiki. She decided to let Miku go, and she revealed that she was being manipulated by a villainous man known as Adam Weishaupt.
Boomstick: Turns out, despite being human, Adam hated humanity more than Samuel L. Jackson hates Snakes on a Plane! He was on run from the kids, but they knew his location. Afterwards, Hibiki managed to catch up with the villainous crook, and she battled him as well. She managed to defeat the big bad, and managed to save Earth as well. However, this was a much more harrowing experience for her because he was the first villain to actually die in her hands. Jeez, that’s actually pretty sad, even for a villain…
Wiz: Afterwards, peace was mostly restored to Earth, and Hibiki stood living a simple life, unless more threats ever attack.
Boomstick: Welp, glad that’s out of the way! Weapons time! First of all, we start of with her main powerhouse: The Gungnir.
Symphogear Model SGr-03 - Gungnir[]
- Created from the original Gungnir, a spear used by Odin that never misses the target
- Fused with Hibiki
- Sound Manipulation
- Energy Absorption
- Alchemy
Boomstick: This overpowered, god-slaying gear is capable of few things. That includes sound manipulation, which lets her manipulate any audio, energy absorption, which allows Hibiki to absorb nearby energy, and alchemy, which allows her to turn matter into anything she likes.
Wiz: Another weapon she uses is the Armed Gear, a powerful device capable of many things.
Armed Gear[]
- Flight
- Telepathy
- Her arm can turn into three things: Spear, fist, and a gigantic fist
Boomstick: She’s got flight to soar in the air, telepathy to speak to anything from afar, and her arm can turn into a spear, a fist, and an even bigger fist! That’s far from it, however. She’s an anime protagonist, what would you expect?
Rebuild[]
- Has 301,655,722 different locks which lets it shift into any form to the user’s preference
Wiz: The Rebuild ability allows her to shift her gear around to make her more nimble and quick when dodging attacks or just avoiding enemies overall. She also has a tricky tool known as the Ignite Module.
Ignite Module[]
- Fire Manipulation
- Enhanced Strength
- Mind Manipulation
- Super Speed
- Portal Creation
Boomstick: This handy Symphogear allows Hibiki to do many things. For example, she can fucking shoot fire from every hole in her body!
Wiz: Ew, that sounded too weird. Although you are right. The Ignite Module gives her complete control over fire and anything relating to it.
Boomstick: This also doubles- no, triples her lifting strength, which makes her skinny arms more powerful than they look! She is also capable of controlling her own mind, which allows her to resist mind control of any kind. Hibiki also increases her speed when she equips this model, making her faster than light itself! Finally, she can create portals that allow her to travel in any area.
Wiz: Every Symphogear has a true form, which all look different. These are called X-Drives.
X-Drive[]
- Has wings formed of light
- Beam Firing
- Teleportation
- Gauntlets
- Forcefield Creation
- Power Nullification
- Weapon Creation
- Statistics Amplification
- Water Manipulation
- Air Manipulation
Boomstick: Holy shit, that’s a lot of weapons. Anyways, she grows glowing wings made out of pure light, which takes faster than light to a whole other level. She can also fire long-range beams, teleport to any area, and create forcefields.
Wiz: Hibiki is also capable of growing massive gauntlets from her fists, capable of crushing any foe in her path. She can also create weapons using her mind, nullify the powers of others, make her general stats heavily increase in power, and manipulate water and air alike.
Boomstick: Hibiki also invented her own fighting style: the, well, Hibiki Style.
Hibiki Style[]
- Earth-Penetrating Power
- Extra-Large Spear Rush
- Sky Hammer Kick
- Spear’s Violent Destruction
- Roar Wearing Madness
Boomstick: Jeez, that’s more abilities than when I invented my own style of sex!
Wiz: …you what?
Boomstick: Yeah, you heard me right. So basically, in the Boomstick style-
Wiz: -anyways, Hibiki, despite being a young girl, invented a skillful and advanced fighting style. Earth-Penetrating Power is a move where Hibiki punches the ground so hard that an earthquake occurs.
Boomstick: Extra-Large Spear Rush is a move where Hibiki where she extends her gear into a long, powerful spear.
Wiz: Sky Hammer Kick is a move where she jumps high and extends her leg to deal heavy damage on the foe.
Boomstick: Spear’s Violent Destruction allows Hibiki to add rocket boosters at the end of her spear, delivering crushing blows to sad poor people in Halloween costumes.
Wiz: Finally, Roar Wearing Madness allows Hibiki to turn her whole body into a glowing sphere before impaling the opponent and severely damaging them.
Boomstick: We all know she has a whole shitload of abilities, but of course there’s still room for the Last-Ditch Attack. Meet the Superb Song, a weird song that makes even Eminem piss his boxers.
Superb Song[]
- A massive, powerful song sung by the user which creates a powerful attack unique to the gear
- Normally used when the user is near death
- Is the strongest move any Symphogear has
Boomstick: Of course, a character with all of these impressive abilities wouldn’t be lacking in feats too.
Wiz: For instance, Hibiki is capable of fighting, even defeating Chris Yukine, who with her Superb song was capable of completely deflecting and ending the Kadingir beam, which was on course of destroying the entire moon. Given that the moon in Symphogear is around the same size of our moon in reality, it would take approximately 30 trillion megatons of TNT- way, way larger than the amount of TNT used in the Tsar Bomba, the most powerful weapon ever tested on Earth.
Boomstick: She also defeated Carol Malus Dienheim, who was said to be capable of destroying the world at full power! Wiz, do the math.
Wiz: Given that Carol could destroy the Earth, the amount of force needed to destroy the entire world would be 5E16 Megatons, which means Hibiki would be able to tank attacks generally capable of striking at that amount of force.
Boomstick: Wow! I never knew that the cutesy anime girls would be this powerful.
Weaknesses[]
- Symphogear model abilities are limited
- Runs away from issues
- Won’t fight unless provoked
Boomstick: Of course, she does indeed have some weaknesses. For one, Symphogears tend to lose power if all of the internal music has left the host, meaning that if they stop even humming, than their weapons won’t work.
Wiz: She also has a bad habit of running away from her problems, even if everybody is depending on her.
Boomstick: She’s also just like a bear- she’s normally calm and peaceful, but once you poke her with a metaphorical stick, then you can kiss your ass goodbye.
Wiz: Despite the flaws, Hibiki will always be what she wanted to be: A true hero.
Kasumi Yoshizawa elegantly debuts in DEATH BATTLE![]
([Now Playing: Throw Away Your Mask - Persona 5 Royal)]
Wiz: The Yoshizawa family was a happy group of people who were very successful in life. The father, Shinichi Yoshizawa, was an accomplished director and talk show host. The twin daughters were both very skilled gymnasts trained under the same coach with dreams of becoming the biggest duo together.
Boomstick: The older sister, Kasumi, was somewhat better than her sister, which caused her to become jealous. The younger sister's self-esteem slowly spiraled down over the years, but she didn't actually hate her sister or anything. Meet Kasumi- er, Sumire Yoshizawa.
Information[]
- Name: Sumire Yoshizawa
- Phantom Thief Title: Violet
- Height: 5'4"
- Weight: 110 lbs
- Age: 16
- Likes: Joker, Kasumi, gymnastics
- Dislikes: Pressure, depression, romantic situations
- Very, VERY insecure
Wiz: She practiced every day with her older sister to become great together. There was a competition coming up, and the Yoshizawa twins strived to be best in show. That was, until-
Boomstick: A nearby car pulled a Colorado move and smashed Kasumi to bits!
Wiz: Well, yes, but let me evaluate. One day, while coming home from practice, a speeding car almost hit Sumire. She was only saved when Kasumi pushed her out of the way of the moving vehicle, causing her to get run over by it instead.
Boomstick: Her sister’s death made Sumire’s crippling depression even worse, with something we hobos like to call Survivor’s Guilt. This lead her to believe that it was her fault that Kasumi died, and she was depressed.
Wiz: At last, Sumire finally found a conclusion. She would somehow become Kasumi to continue her sister’s legacy. The girl led herself to believe that it was Sumire who actually died, and only Kasumi lived on.
Boomstick: She consulted Dr. Takuto Maruki, a therapist who had a dark secret. Hey wait Wiz, let’s not get into this can of worms-
Wiz: Too late. Takuto was a humble man who’s life spiraled into chaos after the death of his fiancé Rumi’s parents. He accidentally made her condition worse by reminding her about her parents, which led Takuto to consult beings far beyond him.
Boomstick: The doctor made a deal with a mysterious entity to manipulate Cognition, which is how us humans see reality. Takuto tried to purge Rumi of her terrible memories, but unironically made his life worse by accidentally deleting all relations she had with him. Ouch.
Wiz: Maruki decided to use his powers to make the world a better place by making everybody’s wishes come true. That’s when he became a counselor and met with Sumire, which brings us back on topic.
Boomstick: Takuto used his manipulation to change her perception and memories overall, which led her to believe she was Kasumi Yoshizawa. Basically they pulled a Dr. Pimple Popper gag, but instead with mind antics? Kinda shitty if you ask me.
Wiz: The girl, now known as Kasumi, enrolled into Shujin Academy, one of the top schools in all of Japan. She learnt of the mysterious Phantom Thieves, but she did not support them at the time due to her believing that people should take their problems into their own hands.
Boomstick: However, soon, she met their ringleader, and instantly fell head over heels for him. This man was named Akira Kurusu, also known as the Joker, the lipstick wearing clown archenemy of Batma- shit, wrong notes.
Wiz: Joker led the Phantom Thieves, a group of students who led secret lives where they “stole the hearts” of corrupt adults and tried to restore peace to all of society. He helped Sumire in many various problems she had at school, such as fitting in and making a name for herself.
Boomstick: Later, she comes across Joker, who accidentally attaches his Metaverse Navigator to her phone, which transfers her to the mysterious Metaverse! This transfers Sumire and Joker into a mysterious palace, where they are ambushed by villainous Shadows.
Wiz: However, before they are killed, Sumire would gain the power of the Persona, and summon her first Persona, Cendrillon.
Boomstick: The ghastly bitch would whip the asses of the edgy creatures, and makes Joker realize she should join them. However, Sumire turns down the request, wanting to focus more on her… gymnastic?!? You were just ASKED to fight monsters in a different dimension using SUPERPOWERS, and you turn it down for flipping for contest? Bullshit.
Wiz: But this wouldn’t be her last experience in the Metaverse. Sumire would trail the Phantom Thieves during their attack on Niijima’s Palace, and help take down multiple shadows and corrupt adults afterwards.
Boomstick: However, Takuto from earlier was actually a madman wanting to change reality itself, and he managed to do it! Strange incidents begin to follow, such as Morgana turning into a human boy.
Wiz: Sumire joins the Phantom Thieves again to investigate the final Palace, and they soon discover that the Palace Master was Takuto Maruki, which shocked Sumire because she had brought herself to trusting him.
Boomstick: As the group arrives, Takuto pulls an absolutely sick move and shows a monitor filming Kasumi’s death and the mysterious backstory of Sumire, which had brought her back into her crippling depression and existential crisis. Again.
Wiz: Afterwards, Sumire awakens in her Metaverse clothing once again to stop Joker from changing her back to Sumire, which leads them to duel one on one. She is taken down after a few hits, and as Goro Akechi restrains her, she breaks free and goes berserk, causing Cendrillon to become berserk as well and attack the party.
Boomstick: However, she is soon outmatched by the other party members who denied Maruki’s new reality and she was brought back to her senses, finally allowing them to attack Takuto.
Wiz: After all this, Sumire realizes to stay true to her real identity, and she officially joins the party as Sumire Yoshizawa. They went to battle Maruki, who at this point, fused with his Persona Adam Kadmon. He was incredibly more powerful, but after gaining the Will of everybody on Earth, they managed to strike him down and revert reality back to normal.
Boomstick: With all of reality back to how it was supposed to be, Sumire decided to stay as her true self and live her own way. Of course, that didn’t stop her from keeping a plethora of fucking awesome weapons!
Rapiers[]
- Sumire’s melee weapon of her choice
- Extremely skilled with it
- The main Rapier has an attack value of 280 and an accuracy value of 95
- Has another rapier known as the Sword of Sinai
- Sword of Sinai has an attack value of 345 and an accuracy value of 95
- Capable of inflicting dizzy effects onto opponents
Wiz: Sumire, despite being cowardly, is as impressive with a blade as she is in gymnastics. She retains a simple rapier called… well, the rapier, with a high attacking rate and decent accuracy.
Boomstick: Her other blade is the Sword of Sinai, which is a powerful blade with… well, not so different statistics, but it can make opponents as dizzy as if they’re recovering from a hangover.
Wiz: She also has some impressive ranged weapons to make up for her low accuracy.
Rifles[]
- Sumire’s firearm of choice
- Each rifle of hers holds 10 rounds each
- Her main gun is the Yellow Girl
- Yellow Girl has an attack value of 315 and an accuracy of 90
- Her most powerful gun is the Sahasrara
- Sahasrara has an attack value of 320, an accuracy of 90, and boosts all of her stats
Boomstick: What the hell, Wiz? The stats aren’t different at all!
Wiz: …anyways, each of her rifles hold ten rounds each, but she is able to reload them as a normal gun. Her main rifle is known as the Yellow Girl, which has 315 attack value and 90 accuracy.
Boomstick: Her best gun is as powerful as the name is confusing- Sarashaaraharrar… what?
Wiz: Sahasrara.
Boomstick: As I said, Sahasrara. This badass rifle has 320 attack value and… 90 accuracy? That’s just 5 more than the original! What a rip off.
Wiz: However, mortal weapons aren’t the only thing Sumire has up her sleeve. This powerful ability was gained when she was still going by the name Kasumi. She gained the ability to summon Personas.
Persona Summoning[]
- Sumire’s main skill
- She has a total of three Personas
Boomstick: Wait, three Personas? That’s… let me do the math… two more than one!
Wiz: …anyways, we start off with her first Persona: Cendrillon.
Cendrillon[]
- Veil of Midnight
- Kouga
- Makouga
- Heat Wave
- Apt Pupil
- Kougaon
- Makougaon
- Diarahan
Boomstick: This invisible companion based off a bitch who lost her shoe has some pretty powerful abilities!
Wiz: These include, Veil of Midnight, which decreases the chance of her statistics being downed in combat, Kouga, which deals medium Bless damage on a foe, and Makouga, which deals medium Bless damage on all surrounding foes.
Boomstick: Don’t forget Heat Wave, which deals mass damage to all surrounding opponents, Apt Pupil, which increases her accuracy, Kougaon, which deals heavy Bless damage on one foe, and Makougaon, which deals heavy bless damage on all foes!
Wiz: Her evolved Persona, Vanadis, is unlocked when Joker maximizes her faith confident.
Vanadis[]
- Contains all of the attacks from Cendrillon
- Has much better statistics
- Bless Amp
- Ali Dance
- Brave Step
- Evade Curse
Boomstick: This red-hot invisible companion is basically her boring Cendrillon… but better!
Wiz: Vanadis’ arsenal surrounds more so around healing based moves such as Bless Amp, which boosts Sumire’s health and decreases her chances of death, Ali Dance, which halves the power of whatever attack is about to hit her, Brave Step, which heavily increases her critical hit chance, and Evade Curse, which gives Sumire a better sense and reaction speed.
Boomstick: Finally, at the end of her Persona collection is Ella, which is unlocked when Sumire and Joker get real close and have maximum connection.
Ella[]
- Contains all attacks from earlier Personas
- Tempest Slash
- Vorpal Blade
- Sword Dance
- Veil of Sunrise
- Masquerade
Wiz: Much like Vanadis, Ella manages to retain all of the abilities of the earlier Personas, as well as adding new ones. These include Tempest Slash, which deals minimum physical damage to the opponent, Vorpal Blade, which deals severe physical damage to all foes, Sword Dance, which deals colossal physical damage to all foes, Veil of Sunrise, which much like Veil of Midnight, helps keep her stats up in combat, and Masquerade, a pattern attack that deals heavy damage to each opponent 2 times.
Boomstick: With all that said, how powerful is she? Is she just a schoolgirl with a gun?
Wiz: Well, for instance, she, along with the Phantom Thieves, was capable of defeating Takuto Maruki, who fused with Adam Kadmon. Adam was able to tap into his full power, which turned him into the source of the Metaverse! That means that Sumire and the Phantom Thieves were capable of defeating a being with the control of the Metaverse at his fingertips.
Boomstick: Hot damn! That’s impressive.
Wiz: Also, Takuto was the master of Nyarlathotep, who is capable of traveling across the Metaverse in a second! Given that he was at Takuto’s command, this means that the Phantom Thieves would generally be somewhat on par considering speed with the Faceless God.
Boomstick: She also was capable of fighting and even tanking blows from Joker, who defeated the likes of Thor! Thor exists in the Expanse, a realm sandwiched between two others that exists outside of space itself. Sumire is also capable of dodging direct bolts of lightning attacks, which is calculated around 270,000 miles per hour! May not be too impressive compared to other feats throughout fiction, but it’s still pretty good.
Wiz: The Phantom Thieves were also capable of defeating Asmodeus, who created an entire palace that contained full stars. That means that they were capable of destroying a being with enough force to generate a star!
Boomstick: Plus, the Thieves also defeated Demiurge, who had complete control over the entire cognitive universe! Demiurge was also depicted as a slight equal to Yaldabaoth.
Wiz: Also, the Phantom Thieves defeated EMMA, who was in the middle of overriding the universe with the Metaverse!
Weaknesses[]
- Weak to curse attacks
- Very insecure
- Isn’t too physically strong without her Personas
Wiz: As said somewhere before, Sumire is rather weak to curse-based attacks that will slow her down in battle.
Boomstick: She’s also very, VERY insecure, maybe even more than my Aunt Grenda! That’s surprising.
Wiz: And while an amazing and skilled gymnast, Sumire isn’t too physically strong without her Personas.
Boomstick: But despite these weaknesses, Kasumi- er, Sumire will never stop caring for those she loves.
Intermission[]
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set! We've run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!
Death Battle[]
Location: The Metaverse[]
[(Now Playing: Into the Metaverse - Persona 5)]
It was a rather dark night in the Metaverse. Few lights flickered, and nobody was seen in sight. Shadows ran amok across the red city and seemed unstoppable. Suddenly, a red blur would shoot from the top of a building and directly tackle one Shadow! The female was quick and nimble, red hair flowing as she flipped through the air. At least, she defeated both shadows and fell back to her feet, putting her rapier back into the sheath. The shadow cleared from her face, and it was revealed to be Sumire Yoshizawa, the Phantom Thief also known as Violet. She brushed her hair and let out a sigh. “Alright, that should be just about it for today. Time to get to class.” the gymnast said, walking away.
However, she heard a particular noise.
Sumire heard footsteps slowly emerging near her, and slight whispers following. A young girl with short hair and peculiar gauntlets held her arm up to her mouth, seemingly speaking to some transmitter. “I think this is the place. Hopefully the Noise haven’t gotten away at this point.” Alerted by whoever this was, Sumire would whirl around and see the girl walking across the city, shadows covering her body.
The eyes beneath the masquerade squinted and saw the figure close up. Her gauntlets read Hibiki Tachibana, so she presumed this was her name. “Hey, are you lost?” she shouted, flailing her arms to gain Hibiki’s attention. “What? No, I’m on track. Thanks anyways.” the shadows cleared over Hibiki, and she seemed to be wearing her Ignite Module, clothed in all black with red details.
Sumire instantly realized what this was: she was one of the Shadows, one of the corrupt humans! “Why are you looking at me like that?” Hibiki insisted. “Uh, hello? You gonna say anything?”
Sumire pulled the rapier from her waist, and pointed it towards Hibiki from a distance. ‘Don’t worry, I will make this quick.” Hibiki realized what this had meant, and she drew her gauntlets back in some sort of combat pose. “All right. If it’s a fight you want, it’s a fight you’ll get!”
FIGHT![]
[(Now Playing: Phantom Echoes - Death Battle Fanon Track)]
Hibiki reels back and prepares a punch to throw at Sumire, but much to her surprise, the fist was caught by a quick draw of blade. Violet flips and knocks Hibiki back, who wipes her brow and smiles. “You’re a pretty tough foe, I see. Ready for more?” Sumire quickly nods and flashes the sword down again, but her precision is marked by her foe who managed to swap her arm with a spear in time. Before Violet can react, Hibiki headbutts her and delivers a blow to the face. Sumire catches on and begins to block the blows with her rapier again.
“Quick precision, no? I’m having fun!” Sumire chuckles.
Quickly, Hibiki grabs the rapier and manages to bend it easily like paper, and throw it back into the streets. Wary at first, Sumire looked down and spoke. “Don’t worry, I’ve got more.”
Out of nowhere, Sumire drew the Sword of Sinai from her back which clocked Hibiki directly in the face! The blade twirled around and the schoolgirl began to feel dizzy. “Hey! That’s not fair play!” Hibiki shouts before she regains her posture. Violet flipped through the air and managed to slice at Hibiki, who sharply countered the blade with another spear. The red-haired girl stood in shock as Hibiki figured it out—her foe deciphered her aerial skills.
Hibiki rushed towards Sumire again, and managed to knock her down to the dirt again. However, this time, Violet managed to impressively obtain her rifle, which she shot Hibiki in the chest with. “Ow, ow, OW! What was that?” Hibiki groaned as she clutched her chest in pain.
Sumire glanced up after landing back on her feet. “You’re one of the Shadows, aren’t you? I could’ve figured that out easily.”
Hibiki looked up, and began to scratch the back of her head while delivering a well-meant grin. “I… think you’ve got the wrong person.” Sumire, in realization, decides to say another thing. “You may not be nasty, but how about we finish this fight? I’m having fun!”
Hibiki forms a fist, and smiles at her opponent. “Alright, you’re on!”
The wielder of Gugnir bolts towards Sumire at blinding speeds ready to attack, but the gymnast managed to twirl out of the way in some sort of spin, before reusing the rifle and firing at Hibiki multiple times. Tachibana evaluated the situation and dashed past the bullets before managing to grab one of them with peak precision. Before she noticed, however, Hibiki’s head was almost nailed by an oncoming rapier—it was only hairs away!
“Redhead, I think I see where this is going. You’re using a blade as a projectile?” Hibiki questioned, only to be met in the chest by a crushing blow. Sumire was back at Hibiki, but the schoolgirl was not unprepared. She winded up her arm, and delivered a blow directly to Sumire’s chest that sent her flying into an alleyway! “I’m ready for more!” Sumire shouted as she regained her stance. She picked up an empty soup can from the spilled dumpster, and she loaded it into her Yellow Girl!
The can misses Hibiki, however, and falls pitifully to the ground. “Don’t worry, I’ll put that to good use.” Hibiki says as she twirls her hands. Suddenly, the can forms into a boomerang-esque structure that was hurtled towards Sumire! The object pinned to Violet’s shirt and sent her barreling towards a nearby building and smashing the wall.
Hibiki landed back on her feet and fixed her scarf. Sumire, however, wasn’t so lucky. Her left arm was completely impaled by the rubble which left her groaning in pain! Resisting the pain, Violet fixed her mask and began to crackle with blue energy. Suddenly, from behind her appeared a blue, sparkly figure with many glossy details. “M-meet Cendrillon.” Sumire said, wincing in pain.
Cendrillon manages to heal Sumire’s arm, which brings her back to fighting conditions. “Now, let’s keep going!” Sumire says. Hibiki looks at Sumire in utter shock. “I’m sorry, but did that little blue lady just appear right behind you? I’m so confused right now-“
Sumire wasted no time to attack and rushed towards Hibiki with her invisible companion. “Makouga!” she shouted, and Cendrillon replied by firing a glowing spear of light that struck Hibiki in the chest. “Wow!” she said, dusting herself. Another spear whizzes towards Hibiki, who this time manages to grab it and throw it back to Sumire who slices it directly in half with her blade.
The already drawn blade is pulled towards Hibiki, who only has her garments tattered by the tip. She leaped into the air and activated her armed gear, which sent her hurtling through the air at blinding speeds. As she is directly above Sumire, her fist seemingly grows massive as it goes crashing down to the unfortunate city below.
The dust cleared and Hibiki had seemingly flattened Sumire. However, her fist begins to wobble as Cendrillon lifts the massive hand and hurtles the girl down onto the streets, bringing her to great pain! As she pulls herself back up, Hibiki finds herself met with two spears surrounding her neck. The schoolgirl sees Sumire and Cendrillon looming above her, waiting for the attack to strike.
“Just wait a second, okay?” Sumire says, watching Hibiki. Before she can reply, the spears slash Hibiki upwards and send her crashing through the building above, completely wrecking it from the inside. Cendrillon follows and manages to kick Hibiki in the back, sending her rocketing downwards. Sumire retorts by knocking her in the air again, working like an endless game of ping-pong! “STOP IT!” Hibiki screams as she grabs Sumire by the leg and tosses her upwards, caught by Cendrillon in time to save her life. “Phew, that was close.”
Sumire looks down, and sees Hibiki and the Ignite Module shaking rapidly. Suddenly, a massive blast of fire erupts from the twisted streets, nearly burning poor Sumire to a crisp! Multiple flames erect from the floor as Cendrillon speeds across the course to avoid them and save Sumire.
As the coast is presented as clear, Sumire is dropped down by Cendrillon, and with a single slash, she sliced Hibiki’s arm clean off! “Take it!” Violet said as she rolled backwards. Suddenly, the gear shifted midair and managed to miraculously reattach the schoolgirl’s arm! “Well, I never-“ Sumire said, before Hibiki engulfed herself in flame and completely bodied her. She grabbed Sumire by the leg and tossed her directly into a building, removing the structural integrity and sending it tumbling down. “Yeah!” Hibiki said while pumping her fist into the air. Out from the rubble, Sumire rose and she loaded the Yellow Girl again. The bullet blasted out of the rifle, and bolted towards Hibiki’s head.
“Look out… LOOK OUT!” a voice in Hibiki’s head shouted. She niftily dodged the bullet, and she flew towards Sumire again! Violet flips the rifle up again and aims it directly at Sumire’s chest to fire, but in the Nick of time, Hibiki began to shift her hands. Suddenly, a portal began to open under the crumbled building they stood on. “Woah, woah!” Sumire yelped as the portal dropped the remains down the hatch. Hibiki flicked her arm and began to close the portal again. “Well, that was tough.” Hibiki said as she slowly walked away.
“C’mon, Cendrillon!”
Hibiki bolted to her side and looked at the small remains of what the portal once was. Like a flash of lightning, Cendrillon and Sumire darted out of the portal mere seconds before it closed! Violet lifted her arm slowly, and shouted. “Makouga!” The red city in the Metaverse was suddenly illuminated by multiple glowing blue lights forming a sort of tornado surrounding the battleground. Multiple spears barrel down from the sky, with Hibiki as the epicenter. She howls in pain as the blades impale her chest and she begins to bleed a bit.
However, the Gungnir begins to shift and slowly heal Hibiki, leaving not but a scratch on the girl’s tattered suit. “C’mon, I can do this all day!” Hibiki says in a taunting way. Sumire kicks off from the cracked streets, gaze set completely on her bruised foe. She drew her blade again, and she cut Hibiki in the chest to worsen her sore! “Take that!” Sumire spoke, as she formed another Bless spear in her arms. “Kouga!” she shouted before impaling Hibiki in the chest and flying upwards with Cendrillon at her back.
“I-I can’t fail now! Earth Penetrating Power!”
Hibiki lifted her fist and delivered a crushing blow directly to Sumire’s chest, which sent them both rocketing back down to the streets with Violet as the target! The fist slams down onto the streets and begins to flip and wobble the ground like a wave.
Sumire, badly damaged, merely flicks her wrist and Cendrillon appears behind Hibiki to pull her off of Violet. The Persona flips the schoolgirl over and manages to toss her to the top of an unscathed building. “Ok, but seriously, what is that thing?” Hibiki asks, before getting in another fighting stance and lunging towards Sumire below. “I’m not gonna explain, it’ll take too long!” Sumire remarks, and draws her blade to slash at Hibiki. The wielder of Gungnir manages to pull Sumire up by the blade and stick it in the ground, but Violet pulls the sword backwards by the handle and it swats Hibiki in the eye. Out from the corner of her eye, Hibiki spots Sumire bolting towards her with the rapier in hand, but the nimble girl manages to form a spear out of her arm in time to block the attack. She relentlessly parries the pointed blade and temporarily disarm Sumire. “You know what? You’re pretty good!” Sumire compliments, before doing a backflip and landing on top of a dumpster. “But I’ve got more.”
From behind, Cendrillon flashes towards Hibiki and pushes Hibiki forward. “Makougaon!” Suddenly, 10 spears form up in the sky and fall down to surround Hibiki, trapping her in a cage of sorts. “Apt Pupil!”
The spears all flip, and they speed towards Hibiki to impale her! The schoolgirl looked around for a second. “Dodge it, dodge it!” she said to herself. Hibiki flew up into the air and managed to regain her strength. “Sky Hammer Kick!” Hibiki bellows, before her leg extends and she delivers a crushing blow directly on Sumire’s chest, flinging her backwards at blinding speeds. Eventually, Violet smashed directly though a wall of an unfortunate building, sending it collapsing with ease. “M-my gut.” Sumire groans, before calling on Cendrillon again. The blue woman performs a little dance over Sumire, which manages to heal her of her gash.
“Now then… where were we?” Sumire says. She hooks up Yellow Girl again, which blasts directly towards Hibiki and hits her right around the stomach. Although in pain, the schoolgirl races towards Sumire and leaps in the air to deliver a powerful punch before being blocked again by the rapier. She keeps punching over and over, but every time, it is blocked by Sumire’s amazing swordsmanship.
“Kouga!” she shouts, and another Bless spear forms above Hibiki. This time, she manages to grab the spear and use it against Sumire’s blade. She vigorously parried the mighty slashes delivered by Violet, but soon, this was enough. “Apt Pupil!” Sumire says again, before the spear wielded by Hibiki slowly turns around. “Uh oh.” she gulps.
The spear speeds towards Hibiki again and sends her flinging upwards! Sumire whips her mighty rifle out again and aims right towards Hibiki, who began falling from the sky. The bullet whizzed right out of the cockpit, and before Hibiki could regain posture, it shot her out from the air like a duck and sent her falling below, spinning as she fell.
“Makougaon!” the gymnast cries, shooting her arm upwards to direct the attack from her Persona. The spears shot at Hibiki from thin air and dashed towards her at blinding speeds, lights twinkling off the Bless weapons mirroring Hibiki’s impending doom.
“How many of these things do you have?” Hibiki yelps, before the spears plunge the schoolgirl further into the now damaged city. Tachibana groaned in pain as she stared down on her bruised chest, leaking with blood. She placed her hand on her chest, and the Gungnir began to slowly patch the injuries up and render her combat-ready once again. “C’mon, red! Hit me with your best shot!”
Hibiki bellowed throughout the city, cry echoing as not even a single Shadow roamed anymore. Sumire delivered a proud grin under her black mask, and readied her blade. Faster than the naked eye could track, Sumire darted towards Hibiki and delivered another blow with the Sword of Sinai, which was soon countered by the armored sleeve of Hibiki. She sweeps her arm up and disarms Sumire before drop-kicking her and grabbing her by the legs. She swings around and tosses Violet straight forward, but not fast enough to prevent the Phantom Thief from grabbing her blade from the dirt.
As she was tossed to the building, Violet stuck the blade into the wall like a dart on a board and did a backflip to jump straight from the building side, and she pulled and cocked her rifle. “Oh no.”
Sumire shot the powerful bullets and they hit Hibiki face-first, but her gear managed to shift and save herself from severe damage. Seeing her opponent flip in time, Hibiki hopped into the air and grew her fist again, before punching Sumire backwards and sending her smashing through multiple walls. However, Cendrillon faded into existence behind Sumire, and she managed to catch her midair and toss her back to Hibiki! “Take this!” Sumire yelled as she held her blade straight in front of her face, before the sword stabbed Hibiki in the chest like paper.
“S-s-shit! I can’t die now!” Hibiki thought to herself as she watched the blood spill from her torso. The gear shifts again and manages to rip the blade straight out of her body, before tossing it to the streets like a sentient being. The dizzy effects took place, however, and Hibiki toppled to the floor while muttering and spinning.
Taking this to her advantage, Sumire flips down and summons Cendrillon again. “Kouga!” she speaks, as another Bless spear appears in her arms. She dashes down like a knight ready to joust, but Hibiki manages to snap out of her crazed stage and rolls over to dodge the spear onslaught. The spear snaps in two as Sumire falls to the floor in pity.
“Can’t keep up, huh?” Hibiki cockily snarks, but Sumire pulls herself up again. “I’m getting along fine. I’m not stopping anytime soon.”
Hibiki grins, and she begins to glow with a fiery yellow light. “If normal attacks won’t take you down, then let’s see what an X-Drive does!”
The gold overlay created some sort of yellow cocoon around her suit. Glowing wings sprouted from her backside, and the cocoon disappeared as she stepped out in mighty, gold-based armor.
She delivered one punch to Sumire: face, and that launched her at blinding speeds to what seemed like the exact edge of the city. As she pulled herself up, her red hair stood in the ribbon even after the flurry of blows she had tanked over time. “If you want to play it that way, then, I will even the odds here!”
Cendrillon disappeared in a simple glow of blue light, and behind her appeared her red, more powerful Persona, Vanadis. Hibiki stared in shock as the new being formed directly behind her well-taught foe. “Wow.” she muttered before Sumire sped towards her foe again.
Before Sumire could touch Hibiki with her blade, both gauntlets of the Gungnir grew massive and clapped on Sumire, trapping her in some sort of folded-hand formation. Suddenly, the fingers began to shake, and Sumire blasted straight through the massive mitts that soon shrunk down to a moderate size. “Bless Amp!” Sumire yelled as Vanadis did a tiny dance and she shined with blue light before being healed, tattered clothes and bleeding face returned to normal. Hibiki lifted her arm up again, and a massive blade formed in her arm. It swung down and farted towards Violet, who was currently midair. As soon as the blade reached Sumire, she drew her normal rapier and attempted to block the sharp edges.
But suddenly, the sword snapped.
Sumire howled in pain as the blade pushed down on her and sent her falling back-first into the cracked and shattered streets of the red city. She fell and blood began to flow from under her. “B-bless Amp…” she muttered, as Vanadis reappeared above her and did the same little dance above her. She stood up, and looked perfectly fine despite the immense pain she just faced.
She clutched her arm, and met Hibiki again face-to-face. As she limped forward, Hibiki simply raised her arm and a massive gust of wind came out of nowhere and blasted her back down the street. “Wait, when did that happen?” Violet questioned.
Hibiki ran towards Sumire again and readied a punch, but Sumire blocked it with her arm quickly and managed to use Vanadis to shoot more Bless spears towards Hibiki which hit her in the back. However, the blue spears instantly disintegrated due to the fiery texture of the wings on the mighty back of the X-Drive’s back. Taking the shock as an advantage, Hibiki readies a punch and nears Sumire’s gut. “Evade Curse!” she mutters.
The punch hits Sumire in the stomach, but it seems to do nothing due to the drastic effects of the spell. Hibiki, confused, began to repeatedly hit Sumire in the same spot over and over, but it seemed to have no effect on her due to the halving of power. Violet whipped the gun out again and blasted Hibiki in the chest again, pushing her backwards and skidding her shoes on the tattered dirt.
Hibiki caught herself and activated her wings, sending her flying up in the air. Sumire, however, was readying a mighty attack below as she hooked the Yellow Girl into her gloves and loaded it with more bullets. She aimed the firearm upwards at the zooming girl, but she was way too fast and she tackled her faster than the eye could track! Sumire rolled in the ground and caught herself with her sword just in time.
“You’re still fighting? Well, how about we go all out now!” Hibiki chuckles, before getting into another fighting position. “After all, I am up for some more.”
Sumire grinned again under her mask and Vanadis came out from the side again. “Makouga!” she yelled again as multiple spears darted towards Hibiki. The schoolgirl managed to fly away from the spears, but Sumire took time to run up the spears like an obstacle course and tackle Hibiki midair, sending her flying around like she had gone haywire.
“My turn!” Sumire says, as she does a flip. Before she can hit the ground, a white light shines behind her and her third and final Persona, Ella, appears out of thin air. “Let’s end this!”
Hibiki yells and charges towards Sumire again but she is countered by Violet who now has Ella on her side. “Tempest Slash!”
A glowing, blue weapon appears near Ella and it knocks Hibiki backwards, and pushes her up into the air at blinding speeds. The schoolgirl manages to grab the attack and somehow form it into a ball. “I just know… I won’t give up!” Hibiki dropped the ball down at blinding speeds and it struck Sumire a glancing blow from head to toe, sending her rolling and blasting up into the skies.
Ella caught her in time, and she started, injured, at Hibiki who was now back in the air with her wings. The schoolgirl puts her mitts together, and out comes a mighty beam hurtling towards Sumire with a glowing passion! “Vorpal Blade!” she muttered, and in the nick of time, the beam was perfectly slashed right down the middle to form two halves. “Gotcha!” Violet says, before lunging towards Hibiki who managed to catch the blade with another spear formed in her arm. Taking this temporary stun to her advantage, Hibiki formed a forcefield that knocked Sumire right off of her, and sent her barreling down to the top of a building. She hit her head on the side of a billboard, and just like that, it fell, still somehow attached to ropes holding it up.
Sumire leaped onto the billboard like a vine and held on to the side, until the sign struck Hibiki and sent her flying backwards. Sumire took advantage of this and leaped up, before summoning Ella again. “Kouga!”
The spear whizzed through the skies and struck Hibiki in the arm, promptly ripping through her flesh and sending her falling down to the ground, arm pinned down. This rendered her left arm useless.
“Ow!” she grunted, before ripping her arm free from the spear’s grasp. She was bleeding out, but she could make do. Hibiki swung her arm around and readied a punch, before darting up into the air and hitting Sumire in the jaw. She delivered a rapid flurry of punches directly to her chest, and hit her one more time which sent her up into the skies again.
Sumire peeped down, and saw Hibiki was directly below her. She pulled her blade up and summoned Ella, who managed to push Hibiki into the wall and smash through the poor building they had just encountered. Hibiki caught herself as she tumbled down the empty halls and she dusted herself off, before she run towards Sumire again. “Masquerade!” she yelled, as another spear hit Hibiki in the chest again. However, this one was less fatal, and she pulled it out and tossed it to the side.
“It’s gonna take much more than that to keep me down.” she said, before going in for another punch. However, right as she leaped into the air, she began to feel uneasy as the double hit effects of Masquerade began to kick in. She fell down back first to the roof of a nearby building, as Sumire descended from above. Hibiki stood up and flashed her arm spear towards Sumire’s chest, but that was countered by the Sword of Sinai. Sumire’s immense swordsmanship skill easily parried off of Hibiki’s weakened arm, and she hit Hibiki in the left arm again with her blade. Ella appeared from above again and summoned a spear that knocked Hibiki straight off the building. Sumire walked towards the edge and looked down, nothing in sight except the tattered streets.
Suddenly, a fist popped up and delivered a crushing blow to her chin! Hibiki flew up again with her golden wings and grabbed Sumire by the chest. She dashed past multiple buildings and ran her through the walls, knocking multiple bricks out and heavily injuring her. Sumire, however, was prepared and she regained herself.
“Vorpal Blade.”
The blade slashed impressively across Hibiki’s chest and launched blood everywhere as she split in near two, and she was sent flying back down to the streets. She managed to stand up, but the blood was spilling majorly.
“N-no. I can’t… die now. I have a p-promise to uphold. A duty to keep e… everything in balance. I won’t lose now. I can’t lose now!”
As Sumire flew up into the air directly above Hibiki, the desperate schoolgirl clutched the area where her heart was and began to sing from the heart. A beautiful, soothing sound echoed across the city and sent the buildings and other knickknacks collapsing down. Sumire looked directly down and she charged, now with Cendrillon in tow. She whipped her blade out and charged down to the streets again, but she was beginning to be overpowered by the immense song. She saw her ribbon fly past her head and her hair fall down again. But no.
She couldn’t lose this fight. Kasumi wouldn’t want her to lose now.
Yelling in the air, she thrusted down as her blade glistened in the light. Behind her, all three of her Personas flashed into existence, and just a bit later, disappeared again, before she knew it the blade struck Hibiki in th e chest, and…
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The street snapped into bits and the piles of bricks that were once the building blew away in the wind! The dust settled, and the camera pans away.
Back in the real world…[]
In the middle of a grassland, Sumire wakes up and rubs her eyes. She sits up and begins to walk away, but then she finds Hibiki. The schoolgirl was burnt head to toe and was leaking with blood, but she was still smiling. Sumire sat down next to her and saw her lift her arm up. “T-take it. Take the Gungnir f-for me.” She placed her shard of the gear that was once imbedded in her chest into the hands of Sumire, who soon smiled. Hibiki closed her eyes, and she blew away in the wind as dust, burnt from the impact.
“I will.”
Conclusion[]
Boomstick: Something’s telling me that pure luck ain’t saving her from that one.
Wiz: These two students were both evenly matched considering the stats of both. Both of their inherited abilities made it tricky for the other to permanently put down their foe.
Boomstick: Though, Hibiki was definitely faster than Sumire by a long shot. Her constant dodging of Miku’s mirror lasers, which are referred to be straight light, really had her on top of Sumire’s lightning dodging feats.
Popup: Hibiki was capable of directly dodging Finé’s whips, which are capable of reaching the moon in 13 seconds and returning quickly in 4 seconds.
Wiz: Also, the difference in physical strength was kind of obvious. Hibiki causally lifts entire trucks and other extremely heavy objects, but Sumire isn’t too physically strong without weapons and couldn’t manage to pull those feats off.
Boomstick: For instance, Hibiki was capable of matching Chris who deflected a beam that was going to destroy our moon. This, as Wiz probably said earlier, would take 30 trillion megatons of TNT. That’s more than I have in my basement!
Wiz: This means that Hibiki would be able to match somebody able to deflect 30 trillion megatons of TNT. However, this wasn’t as much as Sumire who fought evenly with Joker who, along with the other Phantom Thieves, managed to take out EMMA.
Boomstick: The golden god was on the verge of completely overriding and destroying the entire galaxy until the Thieves stopped them!
Wiz: In order to find out how much this takes, let’s say the galaxy has about 250 billion stars. In order to destroy the galaxy with this many stars, you would need about 5.7 x 1051 joules to do this. One single supernova manages to release about 1044 joules, which is about the total input of our sun every year. In order to destroy all of the galaxy, EMMA would have used the power of about 57.3 MILLION SUPERNOVAS.
Boomstick: Wow! And that’s not even the end of it! Although Hibiki matched Carol who’s power overloading did have enough potential force to destroy the world, The Phantom Thieves defeated Asmodeus who created an entire Palace, or, literal Pocket Dimension!
Popup: Despite the Palace being set entirely in the Metaverse, it was still able to sustain itself as a universe and contain multiple celestial bodies like stars.
Wiz: Hibiki was generally faster than Sumire—it’s essentially light-timing versus lightning timing—and that put her above Sumire in terms of speed.
Boomstick: However, Sumire is smarter both strategy-wise and overall iq-wise due to being a gifted student at Shujin academy. And what’s stopping Sumire from distinguishing a plan and pattern to pull out through the rest of the battle with her gymnastics skills?
Wiz: Despite Hibiki having generally better speed feats, Sumire was more nimble and capable of dodging attacks using both her natural gymnast abilities and Vanadis’ Evade Curse to her avail.
Boomstick: But what about Gugnir’s god-erasing capabilities? Wouldn’t that wipe out Sumire’s little invisible companions?
Wiz: Actually, yes, it would be capable of doing that, but Sumire had far too much in the range bag—meaning that if Hibiki managed to take one Persona down, Sumire would still have the others at her command and she’d be able to strike at Hibiki from afar with another Persona or her rifles.
Boomstick: Once Sumire could Yo-See-Zawa victory, it turned Hibiki’s S.O.N.G. into R.I.P.
Wiz: The winner is Kasumi—er, Sumire Yoshizawa.

Trivia[]
- The connections between Hibiki Tachibana and Kasumi Yoshizawa are that they're both part of a team possessing similar powers (S.O.N.G./the Phantom Thieves of Hearts) and share a backstory of witnessing someone sacrifice themselves to save them from danger (Kanade protected Hibiki from the Noise/Kasumi's sister pushed her out of the way of a moving car). Both fight dangerous creatures on a daily basis (the Noise/Shadows) and have love-interests who are members of their team (Miku Kohinata/Joker). Additionally, both lived alongside their fathers, mothers, and grandmothers when they were young. Both also have assisted in defeating a madman who wanted to rewrite reality in his favor (Adam Weishaupt/Takuto Maruki). Their own powers are incomplete compared to the others, and after said powers made them go berserk, they lost them; but soon enough regained them at their proper full power (Hibiki having trouble controlling Gungnir's power until she was able to control them due to her drive and passion to save others/Sumire not using her powers for a while until the Maruki incident where she lost control of them for a bit, but regained them due to coming to terms with her survivor's guilt). Both also have a flower-theme to their names (Hibiki's last name, Tachibana, means "standing flower”/Kasumi's real name, Sumire, means "violet flowers”)
- The fight would be animated in sprites.
- The soundtrack for this battle would be called "Phantom Echoes". The cover consists of Kasumi's mask floating amidst while laid on Hibiki's scarf. From behind, a ghastly flame erupts from the back of the mask and a mix of white and purple flowers trail from behind.
