DEATH BATTLE![]
Conclusion[]
Original Track[]
The original track for this fight would be called “Tamashī no Sandansu” (魂のサンダンス).
The track's title is translated from Japanese as "Sundance of Souls". It references one of Haohmaru's themes (Imperial Sundance), and the series from which Mitsurugi originates (Soulcalibur). In their series, both Haohmaru and Mitsurugi hail from Japan, which is known as "Land of the Rising Sun", and fights can often be referred to as dances. As it is commonly seen that one's soul makes them who they are, the title, Sundance of Souls, can be seen as direct reference to the battle itself taking place.
Trivia[]
- The connections between Haohmaru and Heishiro Mitsurugi are that they are both iconic vagabond fighting game samurais of the 90's who were inspired by the legendary real life samurai Miyamoto Musashi. Their honed mastery with the katana has allowed them to carve their names into history as one of the greatest warriors and fighters of their time, seeking nothing more then to revel in the thrills of challenging the mightiest of foes in order to further test their skills and become stronger warriors. Despite being only mortal men, their tenacious might and swordsmanship has enabled them to take on foes of equal skill, and those of a supernatural affinity. In spite of their gruff exteriors, they possess a heart of gold; often doing good deeds where they can and cutting down whatever evil that attempts lay their hands on the innocent. Although both are wandering ronin samurai who bear no loyalty to any lord or master, they still retain the many traits, qualities and virtues that would deem them the idealised image of a true samurai: honour, courage, and determination.
- Haohmaru also made an appearance in Soulcalibur VI as a guest character, and his rivalry with Mitsurugi was referenced.
