Trivia[]
- The connections between Griffith and Berkut are that they were two skilled warriors destined for greatness, until one life-changing event and a determined swordsman took it all away from them. At the lowest point of their lives, a higher power offered them a deal: they would be granted power greater than they ever imagined, but only if they sacrificed a loved one. With nothing left to lose, they were willing to do anything for a chance to have it all back.

Griffith vs Berkut is Cheesy’s sixth Death Battle, featuring Griffith from the Berserk series and Berkut from Fire Emblem Echoes in a battle between two warriors who sacrificed those close to them for power.
Description[]
Berserk vs Fire Emblem. Destined for greatness, two dreamers sacrificed the ones they loved to obtain, in the worst way imaginable. But now destiny will decide the victor of a DEATH BATTLE between this fallen pair! Will Griffith’s hellraising powers be too much for the heir of Rigel, or will Femto be cut down and left in the shadows?
Interlude[]
Puppy: Berkut, Heir of Rigel.
Kitty: And Griffith, that traitorous bastard from Berserk.
Puppy: There has to be a limit. A line that, once crossed, cannot be returned from, no matter how hard one tries. Just how far is too far?
Kitty: For these two greasy dweebs, too far just isn’t enough! He’s Puppy and I’m Kitty!
Puppy: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle!
“Griffith Makes Death Battle Go Berserk!”[]
(Cue: Griffith’s Dream - Berserk Golden Age)
Puppy: Born as a humble child, the former leader of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith, had his eyes set on inheriting and leading a mighty empire of his own.
Kitty: Seems innocent, aye? Well strap in, fuckers, this is one wild ride! With the help of his Musketeers, a bandit named Corkus, a miner named Pippin and a 12 year old girl who Griffith literally rescued from being raped, they formed the mighty BAND OF THE HAWK!
Puppy: Now what is the Band of the Hawk, you ask? It was a legendary group of mercenaries, including those aforementioned, that went on various conquests across the lands.
Kitty: The Band were able to defeat the Black Sheep Iron Spears Heavy Knights of Tudor~ holy hell, what are these names?
Puppy: However, the Band couldn’t have done it without their newest member, the Black Swordsman, Guts.
Kitty: Guts and Griffith were real tight, yo, but later, the Black Swordsman decided to call it quits on the Band, but Griffith refused to let him go and challenged him to a battle!
Puppy: …but, Guts eventually overwhelmed Griffith and beat him, so Griffith agreed to Guts losing, but in the end, he was heavily scarred mentally.
Kitty: And soon enough, Griffith ended up locked in a tower because he slept with a member of the royal family! If I had a nickel for each time I slept with royalty, I’d-
Puppy: Don’t you dare go there.
Kitty: Alright. Anyways, after an entire hellish year of pain for good ol’ Griffey, the Band of the Hawk came to the rescue and saved his sorry ass! Unfortunately, he was crippled and muted after being put through extreme torture, a double threat, eh Pup?
Puppy: [clears throat] Griffith, now enraged at his horrible condition, tried to end his life on multiple occasions, each one failing more miserably than the last. However, after managing to shed some blood, the Crimson Behelit, a special necklace he was given, activated and sent Griffith, Guts, Corkus, Pippin and the rest of the Hawks to a place called Interstice.
Kitty: [pulls out glasses] Ahem, the Interstice is a prestigious, extraterrestrial plane of existence beyond our own, serving as a barrier of sorts between the physical and astral realms. Oh boy, I think I need a lozenge.
Puppy: The mercenaries, now trudging through uncharted territories, were almost immediately greeted by the GodHand, demonic beasts who were formerly human. This is where Griffith finally snapped.
Kitty: The GodHand offered Griffey a deal~ he would be given penultimate powers capable of devious deeds, including regaining his childhood dream, but at the cost of his mercenary buddies. Whom he willingly gave up in pursuit of power! He is quite the greasy bastard.
Puppy: And Griffith emerged a new man. He swiftly murdered everyone in his cool kids gang except for Guts and an unconscious Casca, the latter of which he- well, raped.
Kitty: Ironic, considering that’s what he saved Casca from at their first meeting!
Puppy: Please- don’t try to lighten it. I’m traumatized as it is.
Kitty: Hmph. However, Guts and Casca managed to escape, but Griffey had become part of the GodHand, becoming one of their angels and adopting the title Femto. As Femto, Griffith looked like Batman and a parrot’s offspring!
Puppy: Likewise, my furry friend. As Griffith, he has above-average sword fighting skills, as well as enhanced durability and strength. However, as Femto, said abilities are amplified tenfold.
Kitty: His greatest weapon as Femto is his gravity manipulation which includes redirecting and manipulating attacks, launching the foe back and creating a big-ass black hole that gives the target instant Tuberculosis and crushes their organs!
Puppy: Outside of his swordplay and Gravity abilities, however, Femto doesn’t have much more to work with, which is something others can work around. But after using the demonic child Casca birthed from that, urk, scene aforementioned, Femto is able to switch from Femto to Griffith, and vice versa.
Kitty: Though, despite him having limited abilities, he can still pull off some impressive stuff! Such as defeating Guts in their first encounter and blocking a cannonball!
Puppy: Assuming the cannonball is, at least, five pounds, to block a cannonball, Griffith would need to have been exerting 10^13 joules.
Kitty: Griffith also defeated Guts, Ganishka and the Giant King! Keep in mind, Ganishka is capable of exerting force comparable to 429.48 Kilotons of TNT! And Guts could dodge lightning, which as we know, is lightning!
Puppy: However, Griffith has multiple known weaknesses. Having taken on a physical form whilst being Femto, his previous invincibility is gone. Even with this weakness being a heavy fall for him, he is also especially weak to reality warping weapons.
Kitty: But despite all this, this slimy bastard has his eyes set on his ambitions- and he’s not gonna stop until they’re achieved!
Griffith: I.. Am Free…
“Berkut Thinks Death Battle is Nothing but Lies, Lies, LIES!”[]
(Cue: The Scion’s Dance in Purgatory)
Puppy: A noble general of Rigel and the father of Berkut, the younger brother of Emperor Rudolf was always ready to fight until he was down.
Kitty: Of course, it’s Fire Emblem, so you know this daddy’s going down. Fallen to unknown causes, Berkut was left… fatherless.
Puppy: Being an extremely timid child to the point where the thought of horseback riding would make him swell up with tears, Berkut’s mother, instead, raised him strictly to make sure he’d be the heir to the throne of Rigel.
Kitty: …but his mother died soon after, and Berkut needed a new parental figure to look up to, and that is what he saw in Emperor Rudolf, the emperor of Rigel.
Puppy: After devoting himself to the military in efforts to have his great deeds recognized by his uncle, Berkut later led a coup d'etat against the land of Zofia, eventually winning and seizing their power.
Kitty: So these “noble” deeds got Berkut a spot as an heir to the throne and a fancy new girlfriend who our boss may or may not have a huge crush on…
Cheesy: Shut up, or I’ll put you in the pet carrier!
Kitty: Pfft, it’s not like everybody didn’t know that anyways!
Puppy: Sigh. After meeting with a former shepherd’s boy named Alm, they had a battle to test their strength. Despite proving am his skill to Alm, Berkut was still defeated.
Kitty: So Berkut, being the sore loser he is, demanded that his uncle gave him a second chance at battling Alm!
Puppy: With his request accepted, Berkut went to defeat Alm, but he was stopped by Nuibaba, a witch, who offered him power to defeat Alm.
Kitty: But Berkut used the small bit of morals left in him and disagrees, as smoke and mirrors wouldn’t be honorable to use in a battle! However, Nuibaba still insisted, handing Berkut a mirror and telling him to shatter it if he becomes too desperate.
Puppy: Berkut eventually took the mirror and approached his goal once more- having he and his army approach the Rigelian Floodgates, bent on killing Alm.
Kitty: But Berk is bested by Alm (again) and in desperation, shatters the mirror, but the mirror’s power is countered with an amulet Alm received from a childhood friend.
Puppy: After being beaten again, Berkut demands that Rudolf allows him to battle Alm once more, but displeased with the previous battles’ outcomes, Rudolf denies and forces Berkut out of the castle, where Alm would come and finish Rudolf off.
Kitty: And on his death bed- er, Death-floor, Rudolf told Alm that Alm was his son and the rightful heir to the throne and Ru-died afterwards. Berkut, being the peeping Tom he is, saw it all and snapped.
Puppy: Having lost his rights to the throne to a shepherd’s boy, Berkut went into the tower of Duma to whine, and his fiancé, Rinea, followed him into the tower because she was worried about him.
Kitty: Once they meet in the tower, Rinea attempts to comfort Berk by telling him she would marry him even if he wasn’t emperor. However, the sore loser saw this as her betraying him, and willingly gave himself up to Duma for power, in exchange for whatever Duma required.
Puppy: Duma required Rinea’s soul, and since Berkut was already driven over the edge, he humbly obliged, murdering her and transforming her into a Witch.
Kitty: And after yet another battle against Alm, Berkut was struck down once more and begged for Alm to kill him after all the pain he went through.
Puppy: But Rinea, his one true love whom he killed earlier, appeared to him in spirit and talked to him about how much she still loved him. Berkut, slowly regaining his sanity, is on his death throes and gives Alm a memento of his mother, before moving on to a new life with Rinea, and dying.
Kitty: Let’s start with his basic arsenal. He has his lance, Kriemhild, which was given to him by Duma. Crime-hil-a-dildil, or however you say it, is capable of doing lance things like slashing, cutting, tearing, gnawing, killing, slicing and more! Berkut can also throw it long distances!
Puppy: And with the mirror given to him by Nuibaba, smashing it summons hordes of Terrors which attack the opponent. Berkut is also in possession of two rings- the Blessed Ring and the Coral Ring, with both slowly healing him over time.
Kitty: Oh, and did we forget to mention this guy’s obsession with lances? Apart from Chr-ym-hild-alid, Berkut actually has two more lances, the Verðandi and one specifically titled Berkut’s Lance! He’s not very creative… To say that these lances aren’t helpful however, would be nothing short of Lies, Lies, LIES!!!
Puppy: Ahem, please excuse my quote-savvy friend. After sacrificing Rinea, Berkut also gained what essentially seems like a stand. A Witch form of Rinea that blindly follows his every move.
Kitty: This fire-bitch is capable of entrapping enemies next to her, summoning monsters and restoring Berkut’s health!
Puppy: For a more, erm, refined list, Rinea can restore health to all allies, rendering a target immovable, summing deadly beasts, and more.
Kitty: Berkut is even capable of dodging close-range arrows, evading lightning magic and heavily enhancing his speed with Duma’s Blessing!
Puppy: And with impressive speed, however, Berkut is no slouch in other categories, being able to match and overwhelm Alm, who could defeat Arcanists that create multiple disasters such as landslides, tear through heavily armored knights like paper and smash through huge stone walls.
Kitty: He’s comparable to and has harmed Alm, who could survive a freakin’ meteor! Well, in theory, he survived a meteor spell, but that’s still impressive! Plus, Berkut is especially strong against magic.
Puppy: However, Berkut is extremely gullible and not the sharpest tool in the shed, having sacrificed his fiancé because he was misled.
Kitty: Being a horseback rider, Lord Berkut is also weak to beast-slaying weapons. However, this ferocious prince of purgatory will never back down, no matter how powerful his opponent is!
Berkut:“All this time! All the effort! What has it all been for?! Tell me, uncle… Duma… Someone… TELL ME!”
Intermission[]
Puppy: Alright, the combatants are set. We’ve run the data through all possibilities.
Kitty: So strap in and betray someone close to you ‘cause it’s time for a Death Battle!
Cheesy: And feel free to vote on our pollfor who you think wins!
Pre-Fight[]
The illuminate white city of Falconia was brightened by the streaks of sunlight piercing through the city. A young, white-haired man stood in the middle of the city’s streets, holding his arm over his sword’s sheath. He silently stood still, as if he were expecting someone.
From a perspective facing the Hawk of Light, shadows started to rise over the hills in front of Falconia. The shadows appeared to disperse, one by one until forming an army, which soon came into sight. Multiple armed soldiers approached the gates, with two men on horses riding in front of the army.
•••
“Lord Berkut?” Fernand asked, riding the steed adjacent to Berkut’s. “Are you sure that this is a reasonable idea?” Fernand inquired.
“Another city to add to Rigel’s conquest. This will be as easy as the other territories.” Berkut replied, chuckling almost.
The armies approached the city, each soldier taking stand. Berkut raised his arm high up and indicated for his army to stand down for the time being. His horse neighed before slowly galloping after the gates.
Griffith, still standing near the gate’s opening, reached for his sword and unsheathed it, the golden hilt glimmering in the sun.
Berkut’s horse got through the gates, which were, fortunately for him, wide open. The black stallion whinnied before coming to a halt. Griffith’s grip tightened on his weapon.
“Relinquish your city,” Berkut yelled in an arrogant tone of voice. “Or we will take it by force!”
Griffith stared Berkut down, before walking over to the prince. His calm and quiet voice rose up.
“I’m afraid you will not get the chance.” Griffith said, wielding his sword.
Berkut’s original smile dimmed down to a monotone face. “I will ask this one more time. Do you yield?”
(Cue: Echoing Light)
“I do not.” Griffith’s voice rose up as he swung his sword to the side and charged.
“Hmph. A straggler, have we here?” Berkut groaned as he readied his shield and raised Verðandi in the air, before the Rigelian troops began to rush into Falconia.
Fight[]
“Attack!” Berkut yelled. His horse leaped into the air, whinnying out of control, as he pointed Verðandi at Griffith and charged. The Hawk reverted the blow and sent Berkut and his horse spiraling away. The stallion groaned with massive amounts of foam coming from its mouth.
“Resistance is futile. You will relinquish your kingdom soon ENOUGH!” Berkut yells, pulling on his horse’s reigns and making it blindly bolt towards Griffith.
“We shall see.” The Hawk mutters as he turns out of the way and kicks the stallion away, turning it’s momentum against it and forcing it to spiral and land on the cobblestone street. The horse neighed once more and kicked it’s feet forward, pushing Griffith into a pile of barrels. Rigel’s army cheered, before being fought off by Falconia’s guards.
“Grr…” This wasn’t as easy as Berkut thought it was ought to be. The Hawk of Light was really putting up quite the fight! Angered, the arrogant prince yanked his horse’s reigns and ordered it towards Griffith.
Just having escaped from the barrels he was trapped under, Griffith was caught off guard by a horse which rammed directly into him. “Urkh-” he groaned as he was pushed against one of Falconia’s walls.
Griffith struggled immensely before kicking the horse away. Both Berkut and his steed grunted raucously before circling around Griffith like a vulture does to its prey.
With the mighty clank of horse hooves on the ground, dust rose from the ground, blinding Griffith as the stallion spiraled around the Hawk.
“Your tricks will not work on me…” Griffith mumbled under his breath. Berkut stopped making his steed trace a circle around Griffith and charged towards him, but the nearly blinded Hawk managed to block the steed’s rush, as if he foresaw it.
Berkut’s horse was pushed back, as was the prince himself. Berkut groaned once more before raising Verðandi in the sky again.
“Forget domination, I will see your city aflame!” Berkut arrogantly yelled before grabbing a shield from his steed’s saddle and charging into battle again.
Berkut lunged at Griffith, narrowly missing. Griffith struck again with his sword, his white hair flowing in the newly aroused wind. Berkut’s shield had saved him from recoil and allowed him to attack Griffith once more and barely pierce his armor with Verðandi.
Griffith grunted, having felt little pain from the stab, and twirled in a clockwise orbit to escape Berkut’s grasp. He took his sword once more and lunged at Berkut, who twisted to the side to dodge. Berkut’s stallion kicked at Griffith again, but to no avail, as the swordsman somersaulted out of the way and brought his sword forward, piercing the horse’s skin. With a loud cry of agony, the horse fell dead. Stone dead.
Berkut, dazed from the fall, stood back up and wielded his sword and shield again. “Now we’re on equal footing, hrrm?” Griffith inquired, pointing his sword at Berkut.
“Hmpf.” Berkut grunted arrogantly. He bounded towards Griffith and brought his lance down on his opponent’s face to no avail. Berkut released a brash volley of cuts and slashes which Griffith weaved past.
“I expected better.” Griffith calmly remarked as he bolted forward and struck at Berkut. The prince fell backwards after the blow and groaned. He slowly stood up and haughtily remarked, “Is that all you’ve got, hawk? A sheep cannot face a lion.” He swung at Griffith with Verðandi at the hawk’s surprise and pushed him backwards. Berkut hit with a barrage of bashful swings on Griffith, getting about five in, until the hawk blocked with his sword and kicked Berkut away.
The prince crashes into one of Falconia’s buildings and searing pain rushes through his body. “Very good… but I’m better!”
Berkut propels himself up by kicking the side of the building and spirals down toward Griffith with Verðandi in hand. He lands and kicks Griffith in the gut, before releasing a punch to the hawk’s head.
Griffith swings around from the blow and slashes at Berkut multiple times, who repeatedly hops backward to dodge. Growling from exertion, the hawk takes another swing, which Berkut blocks with Verðandi.
Both ruthlessly swing at each other, one blow after another, with both’s weapons impacting with loud noises. Berkut pulls his weapon back and lunges forward, but Griffith hits Verðandi with enough force and shatters the lance.
With Berkut unarmed and backed up like a cornered animal, Griffith channels a majority of his strength into a single punch, which knocks a few of Berkut’s teeth out. “You’re finished.” He says in his average calm voice as he kicks Berkut away and knees him in the crotch. The heir of Rigel lets out a desperate screech as Griffith punches him again. Blood drips from his open wounds, and he falls on his knees.
“No,” Berkut groaned, clasping his hands to his face.
“You only have two choices!” Griffith yells at him. He swings his fists at Berkut’s face, before launching a sickening punch. With a shout of pain Berkut backed up into a wall. “Either admit defeat or I will finish you off!” Griffith yells, somehow still staying calm.
Berkut coughs out blood. A weakened hand reaches in his sack and pulls out a mirror. Nuibaba’s mirror.
Berkut started laughing maniacally, coughing out a large output of blood whilst doing so. He raised the mirror up high and groaned. “How could I, the heir of Rigel be matched?” He coughs out more blood. “It’s nothing but lies, lies, LIES, LIES, LIES!” Punching the mirror each time he repeated the word. Glass shot out of the mirror and to finish it off, he threw it to the floor.
“Hah…” he slowly builds up a maniacal laugh, getting louder each second. He thrust his hand toward Griffith and yelled, “I’ll kill you!” and jumps toward him.
Griffith attempts to block, but Berkut’s new powers are too much for him, as his sword is knocked away and he stumbles slightly.
Berkut forces Griffith down and makes him kneel, before raising him up a punching him in the side of the head, with each blow he says “YOU! DID! THIS!” before pushing Griffith back and giving him a breather. “Burn in hel-“ the hawk is interrupted as Berkut pulls Griffith up by his hair.
“YOU PUSHED ME TO THIS POINT!” He yells, looking straight into the hawk’s eyes. “YOU INTENDED TO MAKE A FOOL OF ME, THE JET-BLACK EAGLE, PRINCE BERKUT OF RIGEL!” He yells, louder than before. Berkut released Griffith’s hair before kneeing him in the guts and sending him sprawling across the floor. Berkut stomps on his chest, laughing. “Yes… I am Berkut… and you are nothing more than a worm beneath my grand boot! So squirm… do all you can… and KNOW YOUR DAMN PLACE!”
Griffith desperately struggles, trying to escape the bottom of Berkut’s boot. He coughs out a large amount of blood.
Berkut releases Griffith, who attempts to strike back, but Berkut kicks him in the gut.
“THIS ONE’S FOR MAKING A FOOL OUT OF ME!” Berkut yells, punching Griffith’s face. “THIS ONE’S FOR PUSHING ME TO THIS POINT!” Berkut punches the hawk’s face before shoving him away.
“And this…” Berkut says, calming down a bit. He reaches for his steel lance and thrusts towards Griffith. "IS FOR RIGEL!” Berkut screams, slashing mercilessly at Griffith, heavily scarring his face and tearing out his eye.
Griffith stumbled backwards, clasping the gaping hole in his face.
“You are more impressive than I made you out to be…” Griffith mumbles, leaning back and comforting his wounds.
“You should be dea- URK!” Berkut groans again. Griffith had used his gravity manipulation and impaled Berkut in the back. The Jet-Black Eagle slides his hand to his back and pulls out the sword, before snapping it in half like a toothpick.
“DIE!”
Drawing out the steel lance once more, Berkut lunges toward Griffith. Panting heavily, he swings the lance left-to-right, but Griffith dodges all three slashes and head butts Berkut back.
Griffith bounds forward and kicks Berkut, who retaliates with an attack from the steel lance.
SCREECH!
The lance barely dented Griffith’s armor, but Berkut had put enough force in the swing to launch the hawk of light to an adjacent side. Griffith gasped and grabbed a piece of his broken sword from the dirt.
Berkut swings once more at Griffith, but the hawk ducks, bounds back and pushes his feet forwards and kicks Berkut’s face.
“Grr…” Berkut wheezes in agony before spinning his steel lance and pouncing at Griffith. The hawk laughs and blocks with the sword fragment, engaging in a duel. Berkut grits his teeth and lunges at Griffith. The hawk blocks with multiple parries and does a feint, thrusting his sword towards Berkut’s heart. The eagle dodges and kicks Griffith in the gut. Berkut grins and hits Griffith with the bottom of his spear and knees him in the ribs.
Griffith coughs out more blood, with wounds spread across his head. “This ends here.” Griffith proclaims.
Berkut throws the steel lance at Griffith, who redirects it and jumps at the eagle, slashing mercilessly with another piece of the shattered sword.
Dark clouds began to rush in and whip up a thunderstorm. Loud booms were audible and lightning flashed down, striking the city in numerous parts. One bolt crashed down on the area surrounding Berkut and fire begin to climb up and eat the surrounding building.
“You’re trapped!” Griffith yells. Berkut sees the fire around him. There was no escape for him. “First, have you ever heard the saying ‘An eye for an eye?’” Griffith inquires, his devilish stare intimidating Berkut. The hawk whips out a piece of the sword and leans over the fire, burying the blade into Berkut’s eye socket. With an ear-shattering scream from the eagle, his eye tumbled out and a stream of blood emerged.
The steel lance lingering on the opposing side of the fire ring around him, Berkut slumped back, trying to fight off the wounds and burns pressing against his body.
Griffith stood there, staring his opponent down. This battle was too much of a struggle for him, and he would now let his vulnerable opponent be consumed by the flames. “Hmph. Foolish.” Griffith said, walking away. The clanking of boots pierced the silence of the flame-consumed city.
Suddenly, an ash-covered Berkut rose his finger out of the flame. He coughed out smoke and blood. “CHARGE!” He yells, with the scream using a large amount of his energy.
Immediately, the remaining soldiers of Rigel that were once taking part in the siege, ran towards Griffith, each soldier yelling and brandishing their blades. They stampeded over the hawk, rendering him vulnerable.
The lightning toned down a bit and rain started pouring down. This put out the fire that had ensnared Berkut, and he picks up the steel lance and charges at Griffith.
Panting, Griffith stood his ground, gripping a piece of the broken sword. The rain had soaked his hair, cleaning out the blood stains.
Berkut lunged at Griffith, swinging his lance to the side and piercing Griffith’s armor. “Urkh-“ Griffith groaned, falling back. Berkut swings the lance backward and impales Griffith’s chest, before pulling the lance back and slashing tirelessly at the hawk’s now exposed flesh. Berkut pushed the hawk down on the rubble of a fallen building and pressed his boot down.
“This battle has persisted for too long! Die, worm!” Berkut yelled. He thrusted the steel lance downward, but a blast of Illumination repelled the Jet-Black Eagle.
Berkut stumbled back and from his one remaining eye, he saw something… It was an inhuman creature taking form. Could this be his opponent? No… it was far from human.
A bird-like mask extended from the creature’s neck and two large, sharp talons came out of the bottom. Berkut watched in fear. The beast screeched and wings sprouted out from under it’s arms. This was Femto.
Berkut gasped and began to pant in agony. His opponent began to descend, talons burrowing into the ground. With a snarl of annoyance, Femto flew towards Berkut.
Femto’s talons grabbed Berkut by the shoulders and tossed him into the side of a spire. Femto used his gravity manipulation and sent pieces of rubble from the ground into the air in lieu of attacking Berkut. The pieces of rubble pushed through the spire and sent both the prince of Rigel and the upper part of the citadel tumbling down.
Femto glided downward to Berkut, who was regaining his composure. Through grit teeth, the Jet-Black Eagle muttered, “Be gone from my sight!” He thrust the steel lance at Femto and swung it to the left, sending Femto barreling to the side.
Femto got up and lunged at Berkut, slashing at him with his claws. Each blow was blocked by the Eagle, who pushed the lance’s handle forward and into Femto’s face.
Femto knocked the lance away and performed a roundhouse kick into Berkut’s side, heavily harming the prince.
“Feel the wrath of the GodHand!” Femto yells, smothering Berkut’s face with his hand. He holds the squealing prince upward, and with his other hand, releases a relentless volley of punches. He throws Berkut down and forces him to kneel.
Berkut gets off his knees and lunges forward, but Femto bats him away with ease. The hawk launches more rubble at Berkut, with small pieces of debris and stone piercing his flesh.
“Ugh…” Berkut falls to the floor. “How… How could I lose? Duma… Rinea… UNCLE! TELL ME! SOMEBODY TELL ME!” Berkut yells, tears and blood streaming from his face.
“You pitiful beast.” Femto declares. “You’ve almost made me feel sorry for you.” He says as he grabs Berkut’s steel lance from the battlefield. Berkut looked around, with the corpses of multiple soldiers from both sides laying everywhere.
If he died there, Rigel would surely fall. But, he had one trump card left. As Femto slowly approached with the bloodstained and broken lance, flames began to crawl up again on Berkut’s back. Maniacal laughter erupted from the prince as he stood up, his gesticulations mirroring those of a corpse.
“Hawk…” Berkut said, regaining a prideful tone. “You have impressed me…” Berkut says. “But you can’t match the strength of Duma! Haha! THIS WILL BE YOUR LAST DANCE!” Berkut screams, the rain being unable to extinguish the flames on his back. He reaches out his hand and Kriemhild materializes in his palm.
“I’ve said this before…” Berkut mutters. “But you DIE NOW!”
Berkut throws Kriemhild at Femto, who blocks with a lucky arm. Whilst Femto was distracted by the lance, Berkut somersaults forward and brings his foot down on Femto’s face, pushing him back. Berkut grabs Kriemhild once more and aggressively spirals towards Femto, who blocks the blow with his armor.
“Hmph. Even almighty power can’t let you match me.” Griffith tells Berkut in a taunting tone.
“ALM?” Berkut screamed, on the verge of snapping. “DID YOU JUST MUTTER THE NAME ALM?!?!”
Berkut lunges forward, kneeing Femto’s gut. He punches his opponent in the face multiple times before stopping and kicking Kriemhild towards Femto, impaling him in the chest.
“Ack!” Femto screeched before instantly pulling the lance out of his chest and tossing it towards Berkut at a high speed.
Suddenly, a fiery hand grabs the lance. The hand seemed to have come from behind Berkut.
Rinea sighed as Berkut pointed his right hand towards Femto, whom walked backwards in confusion. “Kill him!” Berkut demanded.
Rinea did not hesitate and hovered towards Femto. She swiftly put him in an armlock and held Femto up for Berkut to attack.
Berkut drew his fist back and punched Femto’s face. He drew it back more and kept brutalizing the hawk’s head before stopping to gloat.
“As I have said before, you are no match for me!” Berkut taunts. “Now die, worm!” Berkut’s gloating is interrupted as Femto waves his free hand and sends multiple pieces of damaged buildings darting towards Berkut.
The pieces impaled Berkut’s back and he gasped. His injury also decreased Rinea’s power and made her lose grip on Femto.
Femto took it as a chance to attack, swinging his palm at Berkut and jolting his face to the side. Berkut weakly swings with Kriemhild and strikes Femto, before pushing him away with the lance’s bottom.
Berkut summons Rinea again, and she hovers over to Femto, rapidly mauling him, JoJo-style. She ensnares Femto again and throws him to the floor.
Femto is sprawled across the floor, but he raises a weak hand and begins to hover again with his gravity manipulation. He shoots his hand out and commands multiple pieces of scrap and rubble to fly towards Berkut.
The prince of Rigel snaps back with Kriemhild, but the storm of debris proves too much for him, disarming him. The force of the storm also dislodges Berkut’s arm, tearing it off in the process.
Berkut squealed. Pain flooded through his body. The flames on his back began to slowly simmer down as he weakly reaches his single arm out to grab Kriemhild.
Femto bolts toward Berkut, pressing the suit’s talon down on the desperate prince’s face. Blood streamed from the sides of his head as the claws slowly tore through his flesh.
Berkut wiggled his fingertip again, barely grabbing on to Kriemhild’s hilt. He slowly pulls the lance towards him to not startle his opponent.
Once Femto noticed that Berkut had regained his weapon, it was too late. The Jet-Black Eagle’s feet sprung up and pushed Femto away. Berkut slouched against a nearby stone to regain posture and he gripped his lance tightly in his only remaining arm.
Berkut slid on the ground and rammed into Femto, who was left unscathed by the attack. Femto swung his foot forward and almost hit Berkut, if it weren’t for Rinea, who blocked the kick.
Berkut fell back like a feral animal, and through grit teeth muttered, “Damn you!” before lunging at Femto with Kriemhild pointed downward.
“Pitiful.” Femto remarked, blocking the blow with utter ease and kicking Berkut away. He snarled before throwing his lance at Femto, who would have blocked it, if it weren’t for Rinea, who appeared again and held the hawk still.
Kriemhild pierced Femto’s armor, dealing a heavy amount of damage. Blood and organs gushed out of the gaping hole in the center of Femto’s chest. Berkut pulled the now bloodstained lance out and swung at Femto, exposing more of his flesh.
“Ugh…” Femto hopelessly groaned, with Rinea’s ensnaring grip growing tighter by the second. Berkut swung more and more at Femto before almost all of his flesh was visible.
“Now!” Berkut yells. Rinea, being made out of fire, begins to spread her flames across Femto. This gives the hawk multiple serious burns and maiming him.
The fire spread beyond the bottom of the armor, however, and set the remaining bits of the battlefield ablaze.
With both Rinea and his opponent out of sight, Berkut clasped his wounds, leaning back and assuming his opponent was killed in the fire.
However, an ash-covered Femto flew through the flames with a charred piece of sharp wood and swung at Berkut, slashing across his chest. Blood drips from his open and untreated wounds.
Berkut stumbles back. He holds Kriemhild closer and lunges at Femto, spiraling at his opponent with his single arm.
Femto protects himself with his arms forces Berkut closer into the flames. Berkut pushes back and strays away from the fire. Both combatants end up getting in a game of tug of war with their own bodies.
Berkut grits his teeth and foam drips from his mouth in anger, whilst Femto grins wildly and persists in the clash.
However, Femto gains the upper hand and knocks Berkut back and spears him in the gut with the wood.
“Not so tough now, are you, Eagle?” Griffith taunted taking a few steps backward.
“By the orders of Duma, I will strike you down!” Berkut swings out Kriemhil. “I will see you in hell, Hawk!” He screams, bounding forward.
Griffith does the same, claws coming out of his gloves. With a metal clink sound that seemingly made the world go quiet, both combatants stood on sides adjacent to their starting positions, panting.
Suddenly, Berkut’s upper half springs off of his body and a stream of blood comes from his legs! The somehow still alive part of the prince fell to the ground in sorrow.
He panted, holding his ring closely. “R-rinea… I will see you again…” Berkut leans back and breathes. “Goodby-“
The heartfelt goodbye is interrupted as Femto’s talon descends on Berkut’s ash-ridden head and smashes it! Femto bursts out in laughter as he presses his boot down more and more, creating more of a bloody mess under his foot.
“You have gotten what you deserve.” Femto declares, walking away from the corpse. Flames crawl over the area behind the hawk, and fire bursts in the backdrop. Femto laughs as he walks away from Berkut’s burning body.
KO!
- Ending Screen A: Femto transforms back into Griffith, chuckling at his victory. Not long after, he opens the gates to Rigel, with conquest in mind.
- Ending Screen B: Berkut’s soul is seen performing a waltz with Rinea, conveniently over Berkut’s charred corpse.

Kitty: Wait- if Berkut finally reunited with Rinea, did Griffith actually help him by killing him? Should we consider him a hero?
Puppy: No, we should not. Anyways, this was one of our closest battles in this season.
Kitty: Yeah! Both combatants held significant advantages over the other, and it was tricky to decipher!
Puppy: First of all, Berkut took strength by a lot. Griffith managed to block multiple high-speed cannonballs, whilst Berkut could match the Arcanists who could create landslides.
Kitty: But Griffith was no slouch in power output. Despite Berkut being leagues stronger than him in some scenarios, Griffith was superior to Mozgus, who could vaporize a monster by breathing!
Puppy: Berkut, however, out-sped Griffith as well, having dodged lightning and even light spells. But, the gap in speed was far to small to be considered a deciding factor.
Kitty: It also really didn’t help Berkut that his opponent was both more intelligent and experienced than him!
Puppy: Plus, Berkut’s arrogant attitude, as shown in his multiple battles with Alm, is also a deciding factor. Taking into account Griffith’s strategy of outsmarting his opponent, which takes time, Berkut would always give him those chances, because his arrogant attitude would get in the way! In his battle against Alm, he literally paused fighting when he had the upper hand just to badmouth the farm boy!
Kitty: Also, no amount of damage Berkut could dish out would be enough to overpower Femto, even in his Purgatorial Form.
Puppy: And Femto’s widespread amount of abilities and powers would also prove too much for Berkut, as he’s never faced anyone with such power.
Puppy: Berkut may have been stronger and faster, but Griffith’s amount of abilities, the pure strength of his sword, his experience and intelligence advantages and his Femto form proved too much for the Heir of Rigel.
Kitty: Griffith Fem-took control of the battle, and Rigel’s heir was Ber-cut down.
Puppy: The winner is Griffith.
Next Time[]
Ted: “What color is an orange?”
Marty: "Wait a minute, are you telling me you built a time machine out of a DeLorean?"
Bill: “You bonehead, an orange is the same color as it’s name!”
Doc: “Great Scott!”
Bill and Ted vs Doc and Marty!
Trivia[]
- The connections between Griffith and Berkut are that they were two aspiring warriors destined to ascend to greatness, until a tragic event and a different swordsman snatched it away from them. They were both later offered greatness by a higher power; but said power required that they sacrificed what was close to them. With nothing left, they were willing to lay their loved ones’ lives on the line to regain what they had.
- This battle would be animated in sprites.
- The soundtrack for this battle would be called “Echoing Light” referencing Berkut’s origin game’s title, Fire Emblem Echoes and Griffith’s alias, the Falcon of Light.
- The soundtrack cover would be the Emblem of Rigel made of fire blazing in the sky, with a fog-covered valley underneath. Across the valley, multiple swords are planted into the ground.
- With the soundtrack listed before being Brandon Yates’ track, if I had my own version, it would be called “Godly Echoes”, with Griffith being part of the GodHand and Berkut’s origin game, “Fire Emblem Echoes.”
- The soundtrack cover would be a torn banner displaying Rigel’s emblem, with the tears on the banner resembling Griffith’s Femto helmet, and the banner being burnt from the bottom by the Purgatorial fires that are on Berkut’s Purgatorial form’s back.
