The White House

The walls of the massive building shook slightly as the Security of Absolute Defense made his ways through the halls. It was the average day of making sure no threats to the capitol of the United States loomed overhead and he had already sent his men to do a round of grueling training exercises. Though there were two missing from them. He knew exactly where one of them was going to be: the roof. As he trudged his way up the stairs, the woman laid on top of the roof opened a single eye and sighed. She counted down the seconds on her fingers as Goldlewis practically punched the door down and immediately turned his head upwards to her exact position. The stairs winded him as he sucked in air like it was water. His red face made the woman laugh internally but she knew he was about to blow out her ear drums from several feet away.

"Giovanna! How many times do I have to make my way up here to drag your ass to training?"

She sat up and stretched. The weather wasn't too hot for a summer day. Some clouds in the sky kept blocking out the sun so her midday nap wasn't the worst she's ever had. Her wolf familiar materialized next to her and began to wag her tail, waiting for scratches to which Giovanna obliged. Goldlewis waited for her to respond, but the dog kept her attention from him for a little too long. He stamped his foot, shaking the entire wing of the building they were on and throwing his subordinate off balance, making her fall onto her side. She glared at him and then jumped down, her wolf going around her neck like a scarf that was baring teeth. After a brief stare down, Goldlewis began to look around the roof for the other soldier who was missing from the picture. He set down his coffin and stuck his hand out. It opened slowly and a glowing blue hand reached out and planted a rubber chicken in the man's massive hand. Not realizing what it was at first, he held it up to his face and squeezed thus startling himself when it let out a loud squawking noise right in his face. His gut reaction made him chuck the toy across the White House lawn and turn angrily to his coffin. Giovanna fell on her back laughing much to the secretary's chagrin.

"UMA! Binoculars!"

The hand shot out again with a set of binoculars to which Goldlewis used to scan his surroundings. He spotted his target walking up the path from the main gate. He was a muscular man of above average height but he was also bound to a wheelchair so to some he seemed to be a strange fit for White House security, but what that same some didn't know was that this man was unlike any other man on the force. It was because of this "unlikeliness" that Goldlewis had another problem with him aside from skipping out of the training multiple times. He turned to Giovanna and pointed to the yard, nonverbally telling her to get to training. She rolled her eyes and left the roof by jumping down the side of the building. He watched her do this and considered doing it himself but after a few seconds of consideration he just went down the stairs he came up. Minutes later the soldier from before, named Flash Thompson, was about to walk into the main office of Security when the massive hand of Goldlewis blocked him from even touching the handle. Startled, he looking up from his chair to see his boss glaring down at him. After a few seconds of agonizing anxiety, Goldlewis turned the knob and opened the door then gestured Flash to go inside.

"Please ste-" he started, but then he caught himself and continued, "come inside."

Flash eyeballed Goldlewis as he rolled his wheelchair into the office. Goldlewis pulled a chair away from his desk so Flash could comfortably sit in front of it while he went and sat in his own chair. The Secretary looked his new recruit up and down before finally opening his mouth, But Flash interrupted him immediately.

"Sir. if this is about me not showing up to training then I apologize it won't happen aga-" he stopped at the raise of his senior's hand.

"It's half about that and I'm willing to forgive if you help me understand something."

The soldier sunk back down into his seat and waited.

"It's about your power of yours. I'm having a little bit of trouble trying to understand how it works. You're extraordinarily brave and strong- heck I think you'd even be able to beat Giovanna in a fight!"

Confused, Flash listened to him ramble on. Did he not know what his Symbiote was when he signed him on? Did he just see a man who changed his body into different weapons and tendrils and think "yeah, I want him to defend the President"? Goldlewis kicked his feet up on the desk and pointed at his underling.

"That 'suit' you put on when the going gets tough... what is it? Did you make it yourself? If so what sort of material is it?" he asked.

Flash thought for a second. "It's... technically not a suit. See, a while ago I was involved in an experiment that bonded me with an alien ca-"

"Ah ah hold on just a minute now" Goldlewis interrupted him. "You telling me you believe in aliens, Thompson?"

Flash cocked his head. "I don't 'believe' in them I know they're real. It's what covers my body when I fight; what gives me my legs back."

The Secretary scratched his head. He took his feet down and got out of his chair, going to the window of his office and looking out at his trainees in the yard. Giovanna had finally joined them for the sparring portion and good god was she kicking their asses. He looked over his shoulder at his recruit and sighed.

"Aliens aren't a thing, Thompson. They're called UMAs. Unidentified Mysterious Animals."

A low rumbling came from Flash at the word 'Animals'. He glared at Goldlewis and pointed right at his coffin sitting in the corner of the room. It cracked slightly and the glowing blue hand of the UMA inside slowly waved at the soldier.

"You literally have an interdimensional alien sitting in yo-"

"UMA, Thompson." Goldlewis interrupted.

He walked back to his desk, grabbed the chain of his coffin to carry it with him, and put his hands down on the table. Eyeing his recruit up and down he opened his mouth once again.

"I believe you know that part of my job is hunting down and capturing UMAs. If you're hosting a UMA and you ain't skilled enough to utilize it in combat then I'm afraid I'm gonna have to take it from ya," he threatened.

Immediately the wheelchair bound soldier sprouted legs and his entire body was covered in a shiny black substance that slowly morphed into a spider-like design on his chest, spiked shoulder pads, and an armored body. Before Goldlewis could react to this sudden transformation, one of the shoulder pads sprouted a missile launcher that blasted him out of the window and onto the training grounds, scattering the trainees and leaving only Giovanna standing there as the dust settled. He sat up and shook his head in a daze. He slicked his hair back and stood up, pulling the massive coffin along with him. In the new hole in the wall stood Agent Venom whos skin shined in the sunlight. He stepped further out onto the yard and shook his head in frustration at himself.

"Damnit, Venom. He was bluffing." Flash muttered seemingly to himself.

Chop Suey! - System of a Down

"You're right that I was bluffing but it does seem like your UMA friend has a say in your actions..."

Goldlewis got into a fighting stance and held the chain at his side. He looked at Giovanna and motioned for her to get out of the fight.

"We're one in the same, sir. Human error exists, y'know."

FIGHT!
