Godzilla VS Tyranitar is a completed What If? Death Battle episode by AceOfSpaces3709
Description[]
Toho VS Pokémon!
Interlude[]
(Cues: Wiz And Boomstick - Brandon Yates)
Wiz: Charles Caleb Colton once said “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”. That quote radiates in the world of pop culture ranging from movies, cartoons, superheroes and Giant Monsters.
Boomstick: Like Godzilla, The King Of Monsters
Wiz: And Tyranitar, The Armor Pokémon
Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick
Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Godzilla[]
Wiz: The year was 1954, almost a decade after the droppings of the atomic bombs that decimated Japan. The US and the Soviet Union were on a race to see who’s nuclear Weaponry towered over the other, little did they know that one day their tests would wake up a powerful creature. It’s name was Godzilla
Boomstick: Standing 120m (393’7”ft) tall and weighing 100,000 tons. Godzilla is a 250,000,000 year old Kaiju who has wrecked havoc on the world for the last 66 years.
Wiz: Being a giant monster, Godzilla is a natural when it comes to Strength, durability and strangely Karate and Judo.
Boomstick: Don’t forget The Big G is also powered by radiation giving him access to his signature Atomic Breath. This attack is powerful enough to engulf entire cities in flames and it can even propel Big G through the air! How is that possible?
Wiz: Japanese Magic Boomstick, Japanese Magic. Anyway after absorbing the soul of one of his longtime allies, Rodan. Godzilla gained the ability to produce an attack called the red spiral ray, an enhanced version of his atomic breath which is strong enough to injure and destroy other powerful kaijus like SpaceGodzilla and Keizer Ghidorah
Boomstick: G-Man can also communicate using his mind, he can breathe underwater, survive the vacuum of space, call upon thunderstorms to supercharge his power and he can even defy the laws of physics!
Wiz: Godzilla also has the ability to absorb nuclear radiation as it provides him with his atomic breath and self sustenance meaning he doesn’t need typical requirements we need to survive on a daily basis like food, water, rest and oxygen like you mentioned earlier. In fact Godzilla himself is radioactive! So radioactive that he can poison an entire city just by being present!
Boomstick: Oh yeah! That reminds me of that time I once ate an underwater sundae that made my breath smell so bad that people wouldn’t come near me for a day!
Wiz: Boomstick, That’s disgusting. Anyway there is a catch to Godzilla’s absorption abilities. Should he absorb to much or fall under emotional stress his body literally goes into meltdown! His body ignites and he receives a massive boost in power. However if his temperature goes above 1,200 c (2,192 f) he will literally self destruct!
Boomstick: Well besides that, Godzilla has done alot of impressive things during his old lifetime. He's suplexed a 220,000 ton Plant Monster, Speared King Ghidorah and Gigan (Both who are capable of travelling at Mach 400) before they could even react, took a city busting asteroid without flinching and one shot this ugly raptor without even trying!
Wiz: Mind you that Raptor's name is Zilla, America's butchered reimagining of Godzilla that Toho hated so much that they included it in their final movie just to be obliterated in seconds by the original.
Boomstick: Damn, talk about deep hatred.
Wiz: Back to feats, Godzilla has also done way more incredible and downright ridiculous things than what you mentioned earlier. like when he slammed the monster Battra so hard, the impact caused a volcanic eruption. Underwater! (a feat that would require more than 4 Megatons of TNT!) He's survived a black hole and once went to hell and defeated God himself!
Boomstick: Lobo would be so proud!
Wiz: Despite that Godzilla is not invincible, he has limits. His healing factor is slow, he has sensitive eyesight, although he's capable of moving at subsonic speeds. Godzilla is actually one of the slowest monsters in his universe.
Boomstick: True, The G-Man may have his faults but you can't deny that he's stood the tests of time and has cemented himself as one of the most famous fictional characters in existence. He truly is The King Of The Monsters!
(Cue: Godzilla’s Airport Entrance)
Tyranitar[]
Wiz: Tyranitar, The Armor Pokemon are Pseudo-Legendary's that originated in the Johto Region. They start out as Larvitar, buried deep underground where they surface once they're fully developed. After consuming over a mountain's worth of dirt they form a cocoon and evolve into Pupitar.
Boomstick: Pupitar, cocooned in a shell harder than rock is a hyperactive little critter that can topple mountains with ease. It becomes overly excited about it's next evolution and expresses it's anticipation by letting loose compressed gas which causes it to bounce around like a rocket powered pinball!
Wiz: After it's fidgety years it hatches from it's pupa and finally evolves into the ferocious armor pokemon Tyranitar.
Boomstick: Standing 2m (6’07”ft) Tall And weighing 202 kg (445.3 lbs) Tyranitar is a Rock/Dark Type Pokémon with incredible power and an insolent instinct for fighting
Wiz: Tyranitars spend their lives deep in mountainous terrain searching for strong opponents to battle, due to its rock hard armor it can tank almost any attack.
Boomstick: And it's got the offense to back it up! it can hurl large boulders with Rock Slide, Tear away at it's opponents with Crunch, Impale enemies with Stone Edge, Create an aura made out of evil thoughts with Dark Pulse, Smash into it's opponents with Giga Impact and can obliterate them with Hyper Beam!
Wiz: Tyranitar also has the ability to create sandstorms just by being present! meaning Tyranitar can simply radiate an energy output equivalent to 31 megatons of TNT!
Boomstick: OUGH imagine how much sand you'd need to sweep out if one got indoors!
Wiz: Cleaning problems aside Tyranitar is a powerhouse. its's pokedex entries constantly mention how it's able to crumble an entire mountain and completely change the landscape with ease. to do th-
Boomstick: Get ready for a long ass calculation folks
Wiz: As i was saying before i was so rudely interruted (Glares at Boomstick) to destroy the average mountain would require a Yield of 100 Megatons to 1 Gigaton Of TNT! This estimation fits as to permanently alter a landscape would require the power of a magnitude 9 Earthquake which is equivalent to 189 Megatons Of TNT.
Boomstick: Got Damn! T-Tar is also superior to Machamp who can throw its opponents out of orbit!
Wiz: When it comes to speed Tyranitar isn’t the fastest Pokémon but it’s comparable to other Pokémon like Golem and Gyarados who can dodge beams of sunlight putting them at Relativistic reaction speeds.
Boomstick: Tyranitar wouldn’t be called the Armor Pokémon if it didn’t have durability. While Tyranitar’s maximum defense is difficult to measure but it’s safe to say it’s defense should be similar to it’s offense not to mention it is superior to other fellow pseudo legendary Dragonite who can fly through strong winds and violent storms with ease
Wiz: That’s equivalent to 52 Quintillion Joules of energy or 12 Gigatons Of TNT which fits our estimation.
Boomstick: Wow! Despite T-Tar’s incredible power it is far from the strongest Pokémon. Being a dual type of Rock and Darkness it has a shit ton of weaknesses ranging from water, Bugs, Steel, Grass, The Ground, fairies and especially to fighting. That makes no sense! How can you be weak to something that you were made to be best at! That’s like Mike Tyson being unable to land a punch without hurting his hand!
Wiz: Pokémon literally makes zero sense sometimes.
Boomstick: (Sighs) Anyway despite Tyranitar’s worldwide allergies. It still remains as one of the most ferocious Pokémon to ever live. Don’t mess with this big green fighting machine.
(Cue: Tyranitar’s Cry)
Intermission[]
Wiz: All right the Combatants are set and we’ve run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!
Intro[]
It was a beautiful day brimming over the mountain valley. A lone Tyranitar wandered the rocky outcrops in search of a strong opponent. The tyranitar looked high and low over the mountain top but couldn’t find a worthy Pokémon to challenge.
Fed up, the Armor Pokémon turned around and decided to return to it’s nest but before it could began moving Tyranitar felt a deep rumble in the ground, Bangiras felt the vibrations through its body. It knew this wasn’t the tremors created by a Tyranitar, it was something bigger. The rumble was getting louder, the sound building behind it. Tyranitar turned it’s head and in the distance it saw a massive creature, the ground shook every time it took a step.
This was no Pokémon, it was Godzilla and he was walking through the valley, coming Tyranitar’s way. The Armor Pokémon’s killer instincts began to flare up, a flame burning inside it. judging by the stature of Godzilla, Tyranitar knew this was what it was looking for, A worthy opponent. In one bound Bangiras leapt off the mountain and landed hundreds of meters away from Gojira.
The large kaiju was unaware of the world around him until he saw the challenger in front of him. Tyranitar let out a threatening roar, Godzilla immediately roars back, none are fazed by their intimidation. Both monsters get into fighting position.
Fight![]
Godzilla and tyranitar charge at each other, they slammed into one another at full force, the shockwave of the impact echoing throughout the mountainside. Tyranitar begins viciously clawing at Gojira with latter dodging every swipe. Godzilla returns with a right hook knocking T-Tar back by surprise, The G-Man prepares to throw a left hook but Tyranitar quickly counters, gripping his arm.
With his incredible strength the armor Pokémon hurls the King Kaiju over its shoulder sending the latter crashing into a nearby canyon, Godzilla quickly recovers but is immediately pummeled by a flurry of Tyranitar’s Rock Slide. Gojira is barely affected by the oncoming shower, he quickly catches one of the rocks and throws it back at Bangiras staggering it.
Godzilla leaps ahead with a flying elbow drop but Tyranitar quickly sidesteps to the left avoiding the attack. The two monster begin trading blows with none of them gaining the upper hand. T-Tar quickly lunges and bites into The G-Man’s neck. Gojira roars in pain and begins to repeatedly pound Tyranitar’s head trying to release himself from the Armor Pokémon’s jaws but the latter continues to crunch into Godzilla’s neck, each bite digging deeper into the bone.
Godzilla then lifts up Tyranitar and slams it hard through a rock causing the beast to release his grip from the G-Man. Tyranitar gets up slowly glaring hatefully at its opponent. It begins to tense it’s body, sand begins bursting from its body, surrounding the battlefield in a vicious sandstorm.
The winds begin to irritate Godzilla’s eyes blurring his vision, he looks around him, he cannot trace his opponent. In the midst of his confusion Bangiras smashes through a rock on Gojira’s left slamming into him at full force with Giga Impact, Godzilla is pinned to the ground under Tyranitar’s momentum.
A loud droning sound begins to radiate for Godzilla and his spines one by one begin to glow blue, In less then a second The G-man fires his atomic breath at T-Tar blasting him back, giving Godzilla enough time to recover.
Tyranitar decides to use a beam attack of it’s own, it begins charging for a Hyper Beam. Godzilla too begins to recharge his Atomic breath. at the same time they release their beam attacks and engage in a power struggle however The Big G’s atomic breath begins to slowly overpower T-Tar’s Hyper Beam
Getting closer and closer ever second. Knowing that it’s in grave danger, Tyranitar uses one last attack and triggers Stone Edge with one stomp, jagged precipices start portruding out the ground and starts making it’s way towards Godzilla at alarming speeds. Gojira notices the attack at the corner of his eye but he is too slow to react.
The spikes impale Godzilla’s torso and chest, knocking blue smoke out of his lungs.Godzilla weakly roars in pain and seemingly succumbs to his injuries.
Tyranitar now exhausted slowly begins to walk away but out the corner of its eye, it notices a fiery glow radiating from Godzilla. All of a sudden Gojira springs back to life, the precipice begins melting from Godzilla’s drastically rising temperature, Godzilla gives an enraged roar
The Armor Pokémon looks on with fear but tries to brush it off. Gojira begins to walk slowly towards Bangiras, a loud droning sound following. Out of his control Godzilla’s body convulses and he released a pulse of thermonuclear energy, the blast hits Tyranitar melting half of its body as well as scorching the battlefield around them in the progress.
T-Tar, now reduced to half a mess of gore and bones charges up for one last hyper beam and fires it at full force. But the G-Man is completely unaffected and continues to walk through the attack, he grabs Tyranitar’s throat, canceling out its attack. Godzilla stares at Tyranitar with ferocious intent. He slips behind the Armor Pokémon, latching his hands on both sides of its jaws and proceeds to pry them open with excruciating force.
Tyranitar desperately tries to pull Godzilla’s hands off its jaws but its attempts are useless as Gojira snaps open and breaks Bangiras’s jaw. Godzilla begins charging up again and fires the red spiral ray down Tyranitar’s throat, its body fills up with supercharged radiation and in seconds The Armor Pokémon explodes causing a massive explosion that covers the whole scorched valley.
It is over. The whole mountain valley had been reduced to a gargantuan crater, the sandstorm had been cleared, gentle rain began to fall taking its place. Godzilla stands alone at the center, weakened but alive. The tired kaiju rises up and gives a roar of victory.
KO!
Results[]
(Cue: Godzilla’s Theme (King Of The Monsters))
Boomstick: Ahhh I love giant monster battles
Wiz: This match up was an interesting one, Godzilla May have been faster, tougher and more experienced, but Tyranitar’s sheer strength and control of the environment kept him on edge.
Boomstick: To our surprise we found that Tyranitar was on a whole different level of strength compared to Godzilla! While the Big G was strong enough to lift a 220,000 ton Biollante, T-Tar here was strong enough to topple an entire mountain! Which can weigh at an average can weigh over 26,000,000,000 Tons! 1.18 million times heavier than anything Godzilla has lifted!
Wiz: Speed wise, Godzilla was faster in both reaction and movement. while Tyranitar was capable of reacting at relativistic speeds, Godzilla could keep up with Spacegodzilla who could move four times the speed of light! Movement wise. In one of his battles with King Ghidorah, Godzilla was fast enough to cover multiple city blocks in seconds putting him at the subsonic speed of 492 km/h (306 mph)
Boomstick: Tyranitar’s movement speed isn’t as easy to calculate but even if we gave him the Sonic treatment and converted it’s speed stat of 61 into m/s this would only put it at 219 km/h (136 mph) over 2.2 times slower.
Wiz: When it comes to durability Tyranitar was comparable to Dragonite who could fly through a 12 Gigaton storm but during the Permian Period, Godzilla once easily survived a meteorite that eliminated 70% of all life on Earth. According to the comic (Godzilla Awakening) this Meteor was seen as being the same as the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs!
Boomstick: And by Wiz’s calculations this means the G-Man survived an impact equivalent to 28 Teratons Of TNT! Over 2333 times more than anything T-Tar was capable of surviving!
Wiz: And Godzilla’s durability is even higher than that! As he’s also survived being hit by stellar mass black holes on multiple occasions. We could go onto that but we’re sure you get the idea.
Boomstick: Tyranitar was powerful but Godzilla just took a Kai-Duke on it!
Wiz: Boomstick... that’s probably the worst pun you’ve ever made. (Sighs) The winner is Godzilla.
Next Time On Death Battle[]
Trivia[]
- The connections between Godzilla and Tyranitar are they’re both large monsters with massive amounts of power
- They have a history of being controlled with Godzilla being put under mind control from the Xiliens and the Kilaks in the movies Invasion Of The Astro-Monster and Godzilla Destroy All Monsters while Tyranitar is often under the control of a trainer.
- Tyraniter also happens to be based on Godzilla.
- Despite appearing in the Thumbnail Mega Tyranitar isn’t seen, used or mentioned throughout the entire episode and there are two reasons as to why...
- A Pokémon can’t naturally Mega evolve without the assistance of a trainer. Though there are exceptions like Mewtwo and Rayquaza being able to mega evolve without a trainer. Tyranitar isn’t one of them and Tyranitar being accompanied by a trainer wouldn’t work at all considering the fight involves Godzilla against a Wild Tyranitar and not against any specific Tyranitar/Trainer.
- Even if Tyranitar was somehow able Mega Evolve on it’s own it would’ve hardly changed the outcome.
- This fight currently stands as the shortest Death Battle episode I have written, totaling 993 words.
- It is also currently my least favorite episode
