Description[]
Pokémon VS. Yu-Gi-Oh! This time the rich and powerful masterminds of the franchises go head to head to find out who prevails.
Intro[]
Cue Death Battle Theme.
Wiz: With enormous wealth, ambition and intelligence, even those who have started from nothing can achieve the impossible.
Boomstick: Then there are the men whose ambition can drive them down a sinister route.
Wiz: Such as Giovanni, Viridian City Gym Leader Team Rocket's enigmatic mastermind.
Boomstick: And Maximillion Pegasus, creator of Duel Monsters and host of the Duelist Kingdom. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Giovanni is deployed to Death Battle[]
Wiz: The world of Pokémon is populated by many kinds of people who dedicate their carrers to Pokémon. Gym Leaders, Traners, Breeders and even.. well, Day Care Owners. Many people who are dedicated to strengthening the relationship between humans and Pokémon
Boomstick: But not everyone has quite the, eh.... 'optimistic' view of these powerful battle animals.
Wiz: Many criminal organisations have sprouted up throughout the years wrecking havoc and mayhem in many regions. Among these groups there is one that has gained infamy, Team Rocket and their enigmatic leader, Giovanni.
Giovanni: Pokémon are nothing but a business and what is needed to succeed? Sacrifice. And that is why we must not fail. The business must succeed at any cost.
Wiz: Although he didn't start out like this. Like most people, Giovanni started out as an idealistic trainer, hoping to make his way in the world.
Boomstick: Still though, ya gotta wonder how he become such a collosal jerk.
Wiz: Whatever it was, as the years went on, Giovanni became jaded and conceited. No more were Pokémon partners or friends, but a means to an end. That end being wealth and profit. Founding the Team Rocket syndicate, Giovanni had a small army at his finger tips.
BACKGROUND:
NAME: GIOVANNI
AGE: 41 YEARS OLD
OCCUPATION: FORMER LEADER OF TEAM ROCKET AND FORMER GYM LEADER OF VIRIDIAN CITY
FACT: FATHER OF SILVER
Boomstick: Even without his Poké-Mafia, Giovanni here has built up quite the reputation. He's such a skilled trainer he even became the Gym Leader of Viridian City.
Wiz: Of course though, a Pokémon trainer is nothing without a team of Pokémon.
Note:* Many different kinds of Pokémon media have adapted Giovanni and his Pokémon in different ways. We've decided to draw from several main sources including the Games and Animé, since limiting him would be missing out on a large part of the characters history.
Wiz: There have been many different types of teams Giovanni has used, but for the sake of this fight we'll be cover the main essential Pokémon has used throughout his long and varied history.
Boomstick: Being a master of Ground-Type Pokémon, Don-Boss Giovanni here has a large bulk of ground type 'Mons at his beck and call. Pokémon such as Rhyperior, Krookodile, Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Golem are only the tip of the iceburg. Also, being a master of Ground-Types, you can bet Giovanni has taught these guys the strongest moves to see them through any obstacle. Such as Earthquake, a must have for any Ground-Type master.
Wiz: Not just Ground-Type moves. Giovanni has taught them an enormous bulk of moves, giving them greater versatility. The Nido-Duo both know Earth Power, a powerful eruption from beneath an enemy. Nidoking also knows the devastating Blizzard and Nidoqueen has been taught the powerful Thunder.
Boomstick: His main Pokémon, Rhyperior, is battle-ready with the powerful Drill Run. By god, you don't want to be in the way with this behemoth charging towards you.
Wiz: Despite this, Giovanni knows that relying solely on one type of Pokémon is kinda 'limiting', so he got creative and expanded his team to include a larger variety of Pokémon. Such as his faithful Persian armed with the deadly Slash attack, or Garchomp a pseudo-legendary Pokémon famous for it's ferocious nature and unforgiving strength, especially its signature attack Outrage. On top of all that Giovanni has mastered the power of Mega-Evolution. When a bond between Trainer and Pokémon are brought to their absolute strongest, a trainer's Keystone will resonate with their Pokémon's Mega-Stone, bringing about a temporary metamorphosis in form and power. Specifically, Giovanni is armed with Mega-Kangaskhan and also Mega-Gyarados. That's right, TWO of them.
Boomstick: When all else fails though, he can bust out a Z-Move.
Wiz: Z-Moves are an extremely powerful technique. Originating in the Alola region, a trainer in posession of a Z-Crystal can pull off incredibly attacks. More sepcifically, Giovanni's Exeggutor possesses the Grassium-Z allowing it to ahem 'execute' the Z-Move Bloom Doom.
Boomstick: Wiz... j-just don't. No puns. 'Kay? Ya got me?
Wiz: Alright, Alright. Bloom Doom essentially drops a huge amount of Grass-Type energy onto the opposing Pokémon and if that wasn't enough, his Arcanine possesses the Fightinium-Z. Imagine a cavalcade of giant fists and feet being launched towards you and the getting charged at incredible speeds, that is the Fightinium-Z.
Boomstick: So not just ONE but TWO Z-Moves, jeez. This guy's unstoppable. Trust me, the best is yet to come.
Wiz: Being as ambitious as he is, Giovanni strived for something more, something beyond nay other Pokémon. Pouring tons of money, time and effort into his dream project, Giovanni had brought about something far more powerful. The result was the all-powerful Mewtwo.
Boomstick: Mewtwo? You mean the 'I can create a storm to destroy the planet' Mewtwo? The 'I can erase parts of your memory' Mewtwo? What the... nothing can surprise me at this point, I mean what else has Giovanni got that can top tha...
Wiz: It can Mega-Evolve. Into Mega-Mewtwo Y to be precise.
Boomstick: O'k, I admit it. I'm pleasantly surprised.
Wiz: With an immense boost in Special Attack and armed with the deadly Psystrike attack, Mega Mewtwo Y is a force to be reckoned with. All this in hand, Giovanni has earned quite the accomplishments throughout his lengthy tenure.
FEATS:
BECAME THE VIRIDIAN CITY GYM LEADER
FORMED TEAM ROCKET
TOOK OVER THE SILPH COMPANY
CREATED MEWTWO
FORMED TEAM RAINBOW ROCKET, COMPRISED SOLELY OF OTHER CRIMINAL TEAM LEADERS
MANIPULATED MELOETTA
TOOK OVER THE AETHER FOUNDATION
Boomstick: Being a veteran trainer, Giovanni is possibly skilled in other forms of battle, such as Double or Triple battle, which involves coordinating several Pokémon at once, after all this guy is a prodgy in his own right, heck this is a guy who was so well respected, he was able to form his own team out of other criminal masterminds by jumping from one dimension to another.
Wiz: His experience speaks for itself. Giovanni has fought many tough trainers, such as Champion Red and other trainers who have gone up against planet-level Pokémon such as Nate and Rosa who have held their own against Kyurem or Elio and Selene who have fought on par with Ultra Necrozma whose power was a direct result of absorbing all the light out of Ultra Space, an entire dimension. With all these accomplishments, its kinda hard to find much of a weakness to speak about, but unfortunately despite what his loyal subjects may have you believe, Giovanni is not perfect, I mean he has lost to an eleven year old not once, but on several occasions.
Boomstick: That's the power of 'being the protagonist' for ya.
Wiz: He also possesses no resistance to mind manipulation, such as his breif escapade with the Reveal Glass has shown us. With all this said though, if there is one weakness that is apparent its his pride. This is a man who completely disbanded his own criminal empire just because one kid beat him and then left towards seclusion leaving everything in his life behind, including his only son.
Boomstick: Aww, don't worry li'l guy. He'll be back, h-he'll b-be... BWAH HAH HAAH!!!
Wiz: Oh my gosh, are you alright?
Boomstick: ...*sniffle... y-yeah, I'll be fine.
Wiz: Even so, one thing is for certain, Team Rocket is not to be trifled with, especially when a man like Giovanni is the one behind the scenes.
Giovanni: You can't move forward if you are unable to accept defeat.
Pegasus gazes into Death Battle[]
Wiz: Maximillion Pegasus is many things a billionaire, a beloved celebrity and even an ambitious entrepreneur. Of course he didn't start out this way. In his youth Pegasus was a simple child with one aspiration, his first love Cecelia.
Boomstick: Tragedy struck and before they could get properly joined together in holy matrimony, Cecelia died of an illness at the age of seventeen.
Wiz: This led Pegasus on a search around the entire world, desperately looking for some way to revive Cecelia and on a fateful trip to Egypt, Pegasus found his one hope in the man known as Shadi and the Millennium Items he has vowed to protect, more specifically, the Millennium Eye.
Shadi: If you are not the one destined to possess it all that awaits you is nightmares beyond your imagination.
*Shadi then forces the Millennium Eye against Pegasus's left eye.
Pegasus: AHHHHHHHHH.
*Some time passes with Pegasus keening on the ground shrieking.
Shadi: You have not decended into chaos and madness. You are the chosen one.
BACKGROUND:
NAME: MAXIMILLION PEGASUS
AGE: 24 (DUELIST KINGDOM ANIMÉ/MANGA) 44 (GX ANIMÉ)
OCCUPATION: ARTIST. FOUNDER OF INDUSTRIAL ILLUSIONS. CREATOR OF DUEL MONSTERS.
FACT: APPARENTLY HAS 4 ADOPTED SONS
Boomstick: So things turned out pretty well, all things considered.
*Note: Pegasus' story differs greatly between the different Manga and Animé adaptations of Yu-Gi-Oh! For this fight we've decided to draw from various versions of the character as limiting him to one specific version would be alleviating the character a large parts of his history.
Wiz: Even more extraordinary, on this trip Pegasus had discovered ancient hieroglyphs describing events and beings from the times of the Shadow Games from the past. Wow, with such a vast and fascinating archaeological discovery, one has to wonder what Pegasus done with such a...
Abridged Pegasus: I'm turning this sh*t into trading cards.
Wiz:.....w-what? I mean- what? But why? how? What-
Boomstick: O'k, you're clearly having a moment here Wiz, so I'll take over for a bit. So yeah, Maxy here created the entire Duel Monsters game which took the world by storm. Little did anyone know that the game itself was based on old duels between Monsters, Sorcerers and Pharaohs who would use ancient magic known as the Shadow Games to wage war all over Egypt. So eh, you O'k to take over now or-
Wiz: Y-yeah. (Takes deep breath) I'm fine. While armed with a Millennium Item and a deck of Duel Monsters cards, Pegasus can draw out the type of ancient battles that transpired long ago in Egypt. He then set up Industrial Illusions in order to bring Duel Monsters to the world. Although he never used one in his original appearance, Pegasus like other duelists sports a large device known as a Duel Disc on his arm. When a card is placed onto the field zone of this machine, it permeates a holographic projection of the Monster onto the field. Normally these holograms are harmless for sporting events, but under the influence of a Millennium Item, Pegasus can draw out real physical monsters capable of doing real damage and harm to opposing enemies. The Shadow Games also create a strain on opposing duelists, making it hard for people inexperienced with Shadow Magic to cope with the pressure of such a power.
*Note: The Shadow Realm as a concept is exclusively contained to the English dub of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Animé and is not a canon with the Manga or the Japanese dub of the Animé, as such it will not be considered for this Death Battle.
Boomstick: Millennium Items also give their users other crazy abilities such as creating illusions, prying into people's minds and even transfiguration, like how he turned Bandit Keith's hand into a literally FREAKIN' gun and then forced him to shoot himself straight through the head, I mean- god, that was so brutal it didn't even make it into the Animé. Even with all this crazy magic stuff, you better believe that the creator of Duel Monsters is packin' one hell of a deck, because 'spoilers' he is.
Wiz: Pegasus has some standard regular Monsters such as Dragon Piper and Illusionist Faceless Mage but he is also loaded with a specific monster type known as the 'Toon' type. Originally needing the Spell card Toon World to summon such monsters, Pegasus upgraded later in his career to the Toon Kingdom card, allowing him to summon forth any kind of Toon variant Monster, such as Toon Summoned Skull, Toon Blue Eyes White Dragon and Toon Dark Magician Girl. While these are the type of monsters that are perfect for the offensive, Pegasus' main strategy focuses on using an enemies own strength against them.
Boomstick: For his big bout with Yugi Muto, he made created new Monster Cards no one had ever seen before JUST to give him an advantage over Yugi. These cards being The Dark Eyes Illusionist. When combined with the Black Illusion Ritual Card, it transforms into the dreaded Relinquished a creature that literally eats other Monsters and uses their strength as its own and even as some kind of 'human shield' to protect it from attacks.
Wiz: Even with all that, there is one final form for Relinquished. When fused together with a Thousand Eyes Doll, it becomes the Thousand Eyes restrict, while it maintains Relinquished's ability of absorbing monsters and using them as a shield, it can also paralyze them with its many eyes.
Boomstick: Its ain't called Thousand Eyes Restrict for nothing. On top of all that, he's also packing some major Magic and Trap cards, such as Gorgon's Eye which turns defensive Monsters to stone.
Wiz: As you may have noticed a lot of Pegasus' deck revolves around his opponent's power and strategy being used against them and that's honestly the best way to describe his own tactics, for you see while Pegasus' Millennium Eye hold the usual kind of Dark Magic that other Millennium Items do, the Millennium Eye allows Pegasus to look into the mind of his opponent in order to see what kind of Monsters they may have and what move they may make.
Boomstick: And remember, this is the guy who CREATED Duel Monsters. So going up against a guy that knows every single card AND can read your mind is pretty unfair and many of his opponents have experienced this first-hand.
FEATS:
WAS DEEMED WORTHY BY THE MILLENNIUM EYE
FOUNDED INDUSTRIAL ILLUSIONS
DEFEATED YUGI MUTO AND YAMI YUGI
DEFEATED KAIBA
BECAME A DUEL MONSTERS CHAMPION
EVEN WHILE WEAKENED, WAS ABLE TO HOLD HIS OWN AGAINST YAMI BAKURA
DEFEATED BOTH DR. CROWLER AND BONAPARTE
Wiz: This is a guy who has gone against the best the world of Duel monsters has to offer, such as Seto Kaiba and Yugi Muto who both wield Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and the Dark Magician, two monsters who have held their own against the evil Zorc, a monster capable of causing global chaos, just by his presence alone.
Boomstick: Even after he had long retired from the world of Dueling, he was able to beat both Dr. Crowler and Bonaparte in a two-on-one duel.
Wiz: Even a record as spotless as this, Pegasus is not the best duelist on his own terms. Many of his best victories come from using his Mind-Reading powers and being able to plan ahead because of them, of course being the creator of every single card also helps him to string together strategies if he is aware of other duelists next move. Also, while the Millennium Eye is a powerful item, it can be overpowered by others with similar abilities, such as Yami Bakura and if it is removed or separated from Pegasus, he will lose the ability to access the Shadow Games.
Boomstick: Still, don't let this guy fool you with his nice-guy attitude. Once he's got you tangled in his web, he goes in for the kill.
Pegasus: I told you you've never faced anyone like me before. I know every move you'll make, before you can make it.
Intermission[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
Death Battle[]
A Team Rocket Attack Helicopter is flying above the Duelist Kingdom Island.
We are shown the inside of the cockpit.
Pilot 1: This is it, prepare to land.
Pilot 2: Roger that.
We are then shown Pegasus in a large spacious living room sipping fine wine from a glass.
A mild tremour is felt throughout the room.
Pegasus: Hmm. That doesn't sound too good.
Pegasus gets up and looks out the window and sees a large squadron of Attack Helicopters landing all over Duelist Kingdom. The Helicopters are adorning a large 'R' on their sides.
Pegasus: ...not good at all.
A large amount of the intruders were making their way to the entrance of the Castle. Pegasus' guards stand in the way.
Guard 1: Leave! You are trespassing on private territory.
Guard 2: If you don't comply we'll be forced to retaliate. The guard reaches for a gun in his back pocket.
Rocket Grunt 1: *snicker.
The grunt reaches for a red and white ball in his back pocket.
We are then shown Pegasus rushing down through the castle to the main hall to where the castle front gates are. An explosion then goes off, blasting the gates to smithereens. Pegasus looks aghast at the damage as he notices one of his guards clearly hurt and damaged struggling to make his way through the smoke left in the wake of the destroyed gates.
Guard 1: P- Pega...sus.....sir. They've g-got s-some kinda m-m....monsters.
The guard then collapses out of exhaustion. Pegasus' expression quickly changed to that of anger and fury. The intruders flooded in one after the other into the hall, but they all lined up in unison with the open archway where the gates once stood. There they continued to line up in twos adjacently, almost as if they were forming two walls, with each intruder facing their opposite on the other side reaching far into the middle of the large hall. In came a lone figure walking in the middle of the walls.
Pegasus: You must be quite bold to make such an entrance.
The figure then stopped at the end of the walls the intruders had formed.
Giovanni: I'll say this once; This island is now property of Team Rocket and likewise, you are to remove yourself from these premises. Failure to comply will be- well- it will be surely painful.
Pegasus: 'Pain' my good sir? I'm afraid 'til this very day you have never experienced true 'pain'.
Pegasus readies his Duel Disc mounted on his arm. Giovanni reaches into his back pocket for a Pokéball.
FIGHT!
Giovanni throws out the Pokéball and out came the Persian.
Pegasus places a card down onto the Duel Disc, that card being Dragon Piper.
Giovanni: Hmph, attack my Persian with a Slash attack.
Persian lunged towards the monster, but its claws went straight through the hologram. The Persian jumped back in confusion.
Pegasus: What? What exactly are you playing at here.
Giovanni: Me? Playing? Really, from the looks of it your the one playing. If you're not going to take this serious then I guess it's all over for you. Go Persian forget that creature and attack him directly.
Persian leapt forward.
Pegasus: I think not.
Pegasus' Millennium Eye started to glow. A large dark energy started to encompass the hall, masking the room from view and cutting Giovanni off from the Rocket Grunts. The Rocket Grunts outside the dark field of energy started to panic.
Grunt 1: B-Boss? W-Where...
Grunt 2: I-in there. He must be.
Grunt 2 then pointed to the large orb of dark energy encompassing almost the entire hall.
Inside the large field of energy, Giovanni looked around disparingly. Persian was still homing in on the attack, until suddenly in its path, the Dragon Piper appeared in front of it, attacking head on, knocking it off course and sending it crashing to the ground.
Giovanni: What? So first it's not real and now it is? I wish you'd make up your mind.
Pegasus: Well, you did say to take this seriously and now I have. Look around you, I'm sure you've noticed. No matter what kind of match or fight you thought this was before, now this is a Shadow Game.
Giovanni grinned.
Giovanni: How interesting. O'k then, I'll humour you. Persian return.
The Millennium Eye started to glow, a yellow aura emanated from it.
Pegasus: Hmm, two more creatures next, what are they?
Persian was sent back to its Pokéball and in its stead Giovanni threw out two more Pokéballs. Out came the Nido-Duo, Nidoking and Nidoqueen with a loud and thunderour roar.
Giovanni: Use Earth Power on that creature.
With a mild tap of their feet, the Nido-Duo called forth a bursting eruption from beneath the Dragon Piper. The Dragon Piper was destroyed instantly, leaving shattered shards of itself dispersing as it was destroyed.
Giovanni: Hmph, whatever they are, they don't seem to be able to take a lot of damage.
Pegasus responded sounding coyly.
Pegasus: Hmm, well now, guess I need to set up a defense.
Pegasus then laid down a card onto the Duel Disc. a large apparition appeared to behind him resembling an enormous book.
Pegasus: Behold, the marvelous Toon Kingdom. Oh but that's not all.
He then lay down two more cards.
Pegasus: Come on out Toon Summoned Skull and Toon Dark Magician Girl.
The large tome behind Pegasus seemed to close for a brief moment and opened again soon after, releasing from the confines of its pages two new monsters, out came the Dark Magician Girl and the Toon Summoned Skull.
Pegasus: Now, Dark Magician Girl, attack now.
The magician flew towards the Nidoqueen and delivered a strong, blunt blow from her staff, slightly knocking the Nidoqueen back slightly.
Pegasus: Now Toon Summoned Skull follow up with a Lightning Strike Attack.
The Toon Summoned Skull beckoned a thunderous bolt to strike down upon Nidoking. An enormous explosion was left in the wake of the bolt contacting with the Pokémon with a large amount of dust and debris obscuring where it had hit.
Pegasus: Hmph, looks like yours aren't much to talk about eith- huh?
As the dust cleared, Nidoking was revealed to be unharmed from the attack.
Pegasus: WHAT?! Explain this!
Giovanni: Well, for someone who sounded so confident before, your composure seems to have waned. Attack, Earth Power again.
Nidoking slammed its foot into the ground, with another burst of magma exploding from beneath Toon Summoned Skull was standing.
Pegasus: Darn it!
Another card had been pulled from Pegasus' deck. Pegasus glanced at it. A mild grin grew on his face.
Pegasus: Well now, guess I have nothing to worry about. Come on out Toon Blue Eyes White Dragon!
The tome once again closed for a short period of time, only to open up with a brief apparition appearing on Pegasus' side of the field. The apparition then formed into a solid form, that of a small but malicious looking dragon with a shining, glinting hide.
Giovanni: That book...
Pegasus: Now Toon Blue Eyes White Dragon, that beast immediately.
The Toon Blue Eyes White Dragon inhaled with its stomach inflating slightly. With a quick exhale, a large burst of energy launched itself towards Nidoking, impacting it with immense force, knocking it out. Nidoqueen looked over slightly distracted only to be hit with a sneak attack from the Dark Magician Girl and knocked out too.
Pegasus: What was that about confidence?
Giovanni replied coyly.
Giovanni: Oh don't worry, I'm not lacking any confidence.
Giovanni called both Nidos back and in their place he sent forth another Pokémon. The Millennium Eye started to radiate once again and he responded worryingly to himself.
Pegasus: Again, another monster I'm not aware of.
Giovanni: Now, Exeggutor!
Out came the Grass/Psychic type Pokémon.
Pegasus: Just one? Oh well, if that's all you've got, Toon Blue Eyes White Dragon atta- huh?
Pegasus observed a light, glowing brighter and stronger by the moment on Giovanni's wrist while Giovanni started to build himself into an odd pose. Giovanni smirked.
Giovanni: Now, Exeggutor. Bloom Doom! On that book!
Pegasus: What?! No!!
Exeggutor started to glow with an exuberant aura bursting forth from it. A large field of flowers starteed to spring forth across the entire battlefield. Pegasus looked behind him towards Toon Kingdom as an enormous burst of energy was dropped on top of it destroying it instantly and launching Pegasus off his feet and out towards the battlefield as he landed sorely onto the ground just in front of his Toon monsters as they dissipatated and fell to pieces. Pegasus got up on his two feet again, frustrated and distraught. He was breathing frantically.
Pegasus: *huff You think- *huff you can hang with the big leagues? Well then try this. Come on out Dark Eyes Illusionist!
Pegasus layed down another card. A large and grotesque monster appeared on the field.
Pegasus: Oh but that's not it. I also bring forth the Black Illusion Ritual.
Giovanni: What?
Pegasus played the Magic card and on the field appeared a small cauldron spewing out smoke and fumes. The Dark Eyes Illusionist was drawn into the cauldron and out from its confines came something else. Giovanni looked on puzzled and intimidated. A large black creature was called forth with grey veins protruding and pulsing through its body. A large eye was pointed out from its body.
Pegasus: Behold, Relinquished! Nice monster you have there, mind if I have a try?
At the bottom end of its body a large gasping mouth opened up sucking in Exeggutor.
Giovanni: No way! What did you do to it?
Pegasus: Cheer up, its still 'hanging' around.
Giovanni: Well then, no more stalling. This next one will be your end.
Once again, the Millennium Eye started to glow, but something was wrong whatever was in that ball, Pegasus could feel something block the Eye's power.
Pegasus: What? No. That can't be!
Released onto the field was large grey creature, almost alien in appearance with a large purple tail swinging forth from behind.
Giovanni: Aura Sphere!
Mewtwo readied its hand. A large ball of energy appeared in front of its three fingers and with a quick thrust the ball left its starting point and travelled towards Relinquished.
Pegasus: Now, activate your shield Relinquished!
Two large protruding attachments on Relinquished's back started to close forth, concealing Relinquished's form resembling that of a shell, but also something else started to appear on the side of the shell's fleshy mass while also partially remaining fused to the shield, it was Exeggutor.
Giovanni: So that's what you meant.
The Aura Sphere impacted the captive Exeggutor, knocking it out of the shell and onto the ground knocked out. Giovanni returned it to the Pokéball.
Giovanni: Dirty move, but I'm impressed.
Pegasus: Really? Cause your mind says something different.
Giovanni: My mind?
Pegasus: Oh sorry, did I forget to mention? To my eye nothing shall be concealed.
Pegasus then used the eye and gazed deep into the recesses of Giovanni's mind. Giovanni felt something overtake him, almost envelope his mind. He stood in a gaze.
Pegasus: That's it, this fight is over?
Something went wrong, an interference, the same from before.
Pegasus: What? THAT again? Who's doing this?
Mewtwo raised its hand and Pegasus felt his mind being forced out of Giovanni. The strain caused Pegasus to slightly stupor backward. He slowly raised his head.
Giovanni: So that's how you've predicted my moves. Unfortunately you're not the only one who can pry into the minds of others.
Pegasus struggled to maintain his composure.
Pegasus: Still, I have one trump card left.
Pegasus played the Thousand Eyes Idol monster and another magic card, Polymerization. Relinquished and the Thousand Eyes Idol where fused in a vicious swirl of energy. When the energy subsided, Relinquished had changed form somewhat resembling its former self, but now an anromous amount of eyes dotted around its body.
Pegasus: Now, behold the Thousand Eyes Restrict.
All of its eyes opened immediately. Mewtwo was overtaken by a force retraining it, Mewtwo struggled to move.
Pegasus: Perfect, now my Thousand Eyes Restrict, Absorption Force, now!
The eye on Thousand Eyes Restrict started to radiate a vile energy. Mewtwo, still restrained could feel itself being pulled forth into it.
Pegasus: Yes. Now all your monsters power will be mine. Hah-hah.
Giovanni: Hmph, I think not.
Giovanni held up his opposite wrist and on it was another bracelet and stone that radiated like the previous one.
Pegasus: What?
There was an enormous explosion of energy, bursting forth from Mewtwo. Pegasus blocked his eyes, unable to stare and the bright light. When the light receded, Pegasus raised his head and gazed upon Mewtwo, freed from the restrraining energy placed upon it by the Thousand Eyes Restrict, its form having now changed becoming more leaner and compact in appearance, but now an incredible power was emitting from it.
Giovanni: Behold, Mega Mewtwo Y.
Pegasus: What, how did it break the restrains of the Thousand Eyes Restrict?
Giovanni: Hmph, a simple paralysis would not hold much sway over a beast as powerful as this. But now, more pressingly that Eye.
Pegasus felt a force tug at his head, jerking him forward almost causing him to topple over.
Pegasus: Argh, what? What is this forc-
Before he could finish, with a slightly stronger tug The Millennium Eye was pulled straight from Pegasus' eye socket. Pegasus screamed out and fell to the ground using his hands to cover up the now exposed socket as he convulsing violently. The dark dome of energy surrounding them started to fade away, the Thousand Eyes Restrict's form started to become slighhtly transparent as it reformed back into its holographic image. As the dome faded, The Rocket Grunts outside caught view of Giovanni once again.
Grunt 1: There! There he is again.
Giovanni then slowly approached Pegasus still on the ground.
Giovanni: I see now illusions, holograms, magic. A the end of the day its all just a game.
Pegasus rose to his feet frustrated and angry, yelled a command.
Pegasus: Attack Thousand Eyes Restrict!
The monster leapt for Giovanni, but faded right through him.
Pegasus: No!
Mega Mewtwo Y waved his hand slightly, the duel disc on Pegasus' arm started to malfunction. It gave off a small explosion as small bursts of electricity escaped from it. Pegasus was at a loss for words.
Giovanni: I believe I said this before, but I'll say it again, get off my property.
Giovanni snapped his fingers. Mega Mewtwo Y raised its arm once again. Millions of psychic shards appeared around Pegasus.
Giovanni: Psystrike!
Mega Mewtwo Y then clenched its fingers and in a mere instant the shards all collided with Pegasus, riddling his body. Pegasus fell to the floor with not a single word escaping his mouth, he was deflty silent. Giovanni turned around to an availing cheer from all the Rocket Grunts present.
Rocket Grunts: Hail Giovanni! Hail Giovanni! Hail Giovanni!
KO!
Conclusion[]
Boomstick: Oh jeez! This was quite the rumble.
Wiz: Despite Pegasus' intelligence and deviousness, Giovanni quite frankly, held the advantage in quite a lot of ways.
Boomstick: Finding there maximum potential was kinda difficult, neither have many feats of their own in order to figure out their power, but if we scale them to the opponents they've gone up against we can find a clear way to guage their potential.
Wiz: Firstly for Pegasus, let's take a look at two duelists, he has fought on even terms with before specifically Yugi and Kaiba. Yugi and Kaiba's signature monsters, The Dark Magician and The Blue Eyes White Dragon were capable of keeping up with Zorc, who was able to cause planetary destruction, just from his presence alone.
Boomstick: While this is kinda high-balling let's assume both are equal to Zorc and that puts Yugi, Kaiba and by Pegasus' top potential at Planet level in both strength and durability.
Wiz: Impressive, but surprsingly enough, not to Giovanni. Giovanni, likewise, was able to fight on par with Elio and Selene, who are able to defeat Ultra-Necrozma. Ultra-Necrozma's energy is so vast it's light is able to provide power to all of Ultra Space. Despite the size of Ultra Space never being specified entirely, it has been confirmed to be an entire dimension on its own, more than likely much larger than just a single planet and keep in kind, we were giving Zorc the benefit of the doubt with that planet-level scaling.
Boomstick: Speed was also kind of sticking point. Going back to Zorc and Ultra-Necrozma, Zorc was calced to be able to move at around Mach 1293.5, which is somewhere in the high-end of Massively Hypersonic.
Wiz: Ultra-Necrozma on the other hand is able to cross light years in a few seconds, more specifically, its been said that Ultra Space is at most said to be around 3,545 Light Years at the most and not just Ultra-Necrozma, but other entities, such as the Ultra Beasts and Solgaleo and Lunala are able to travel through these constantly, so it makes sense that Ultra-Necrozma, a much more powerful being would be comparable, if not superior to them in speed, after all he's fought Solgaleo and Lunala before and even defeated them.
Boomstick: But wait, Pegasus was smart enough to give Atem a challenge, you know the guy who was an ancient Pharaoh, wouldn't he be more experienced that of Giovanni.
Wiz: Not really. Pegasus did give Atem a fair challenge, but remember Atem at this time did not remember any of his past experiences as the a pharaoh, in fact he didn't even know he was a pharaoh at this point and Pegasus was only able to keep up with Yugi through the power of the Millennium Eye, allowing him to, essentially, cheat and counter all of Atem's strategies and even though he was able to beat both Dr. Crowler and Bonaparte in a two-on-one duel, that had less to do with Pegasus' skill and more to do with Crowler and Bonaparte's idiocy. I mean, they were fighting each other more in that duel than Pegasus.
Boomstick: And while that Millennium Eye's mind reading powers was a problem, the reason why Pegasus was such a tough opponent was because of the fact that he created the game and created all the cards in it, something that would not be able to help him very much going against Pokémon, something he had no prior experience with.
*Note: While an argument could be made for Pegasus using the Millennium Eye to kill Giovanni in a similar way to Bandit Keith, a similar argument could be made for Giovanni using Mewtwo immediately to counter and defeat Pegasus before he could even react due to Giovanni and his team's far superior speed.
Wiz: And its telepathic powers did have a limit, they have been over-powered before and even blocked by... well... 'friendship'. Someone like Mewtwo would definitely have no problem countering the eye's telepathic powers. This also led to his deck being far less versatile than others since his deck was mostly built around using his opponents strength against them and lack proficient magic and trap cards to offer some other options if his telepathy was able to be countered. Pegasus was formidable, but Giovanni was more resourceful, more experienced, a more ruthless combatant and much deadlier.
Boomstick: Looks like Pegasus couldn't see this coming.
Wiz: The winner is Giovanni.
