Ginrai is an Autobot Godmaster who's body was intended for Optimus Prime and is main protagonist of Transformers Super-God Masterforce and supporting character of Transformers Victory. [1]

Ginrai would be born in Japan but would later on move to America to become an truck driver. One day while transporting an sick dolphin to an marine hospital his truck broke down and would get a new truck unknowingly an Transtector (A Transformer body lifeless with no spark) intended for Autobot leader Optimus Prime stolen by a being named Devil Z leader of the Decepticons. At first he refused to join in but after the Decepticons kills some of his friends he would swear revenge on the Decepticons and would join the Autobots. He would later on be nominated Autobot leader succeeding Autobot Metalhawk. He would be able to combine with his trailer to form Super Ginrai after an battle of Decepticon Seacon combiner King Poseidon (Known as Pirriacon in USA). Super Ginrai would met his match against the Decepticon Godmaster Overlord who almost kills Ginrai and forced his Autobots to build an drone known as Godbomber to combine with Ginrai to form God Ginrai to battle against Overlord and BlackZarak (G1 Scorponok brainwashed by Devil Z) on the moon with the help of Grand Maximus (Fortress Maximus' brother). Later on it was revealed it was Devil Z who created the Godmasters and merged with BlackZarak intended to wipe out humanity with his Devil Thunder but Ginrai with the help of the other Autobots destroyed them both and with Devil Z dead the connection of Ginrai and his robotic body would be cease and the robotic Ginrai and human Ginrai would go their seperate ways.
Later on the robot Ginrai would pass on leadership to Star Saber who Ginrai would be killed by Deathsaurus in Transformers Victory (Anime) and be rebuilt into Victory Leo. Meanwhile the human Ginrai would become an Godmaster again in the Transformers Legends manga when the Autobots summoned him to the fictional Legends world to stop a revived Devil Z and be given an new Godmaster body more powerful than before and would eventually be able to combine with an rebuilt Godbomber to form God Ginrai again. Later on he would be helping Optimus Prime take down a second Dark Nova (From Return of Convoy) in 2035.

- Survived getting beaten to near death by Overlord and regenerated back to full health like it was nothing

- Defeated Overlord, BlackZarak, Devil Z, and other Decepticons
- Was able to knock Trypticon (After being rebuilt following his destruction in Zone) back with his Fire Guts in the Legends manga
- Defended Godbomber project against the Swarm in the Wings Universe Comics
Flaws[]
- Makes irrational judgements
- Not good with following orders
- Makes rash decisions
- Goes into battle alone and risk himself
- He didn't want to be an Autobot at first until the Decepticons had to kill his human friends to convince him to join
- Got fooled by an hologram of Galvatron and other Decepticon at first in the manga
- He can longer use Chokon Power if his human partner is no longer bonded to him
- Regeneration can be countered if you attack constantly thus prevent it from kicking in or if you have an ability to disable it
- This allowed Overlord to almost kill him in their first battle
- This ability also no longer work if his human partner is no longer bonded together
- This what lead to Ginrai being killed by Deathsaurus in Transformers Victory
- Fully robotic Ginrai was killed by Deathsaurus' metal destroying cannon and he had to be rebuilt into Victory Leo
- Human Ginrai had his Transtector body was also destroyed by Vok Galaman in the Legends manga in his new Godmaster body but would have it repaired
- Trypticon was able to forcefully rip God Ginrai apart back into Ginrai and Godbomber after aborbing enough Chokon to be able to rip Godbomber off of Ginrai

- Human Ginrai's appearance is designed after screen actor Yūjirō Ishihara.
- Masterforce head writer Masumi Kaneda stated that God Ginrai (ゴッドジンライ) was named so that omitting every other Japanese syllable yields the word Gojira (ゴジラ), better known in the west as Godzilla.
