Description[]
Marvel vs. Skylanders. Sinister skeletal anti-heroes trade chains and unusual methods of dealing with evildoers.
Introduction[]
Wiz: The most common appearances that superheroes take on are meant to inspire awe and hope. Bright colors, flowing capes, cool masks and what have you.
Boomstick: But there can also be some heroes who look so damn terrifying and creepy, they not only scare criminals, but the innocents they protect.
Wiz: Like Ghost Rider, Marvel's Spirit of Vengance.
Boomstick: And Ghost Roaster, the ghoul-gobbling Undead Skylander. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Ghost Rider[]
Wiz: The son of accomplished daredevil Barton Blaze, young Johnny Blaze wanted nothing more than to follow in his father's footsteps.
Boomstick: But like any young child, he didn't really understand just how dangerous certain awesome looking things are.
Wiz: Until the day his father was killed thanks to a stunt going wrong. Far from being deterred however, Johnny continued to work towards become a daredevil himself under his new foster father, Crash Simpson.
Boomstick: Who's name I'm pretty sure is what Homer Simpson would of taken himself had he successfully completed that canyon jump.
- Background
- Real Name: Johnny Blaze
- Height: 6’2
- AKA The Spirit of Vengeance
- Former stunt biker
- Fused with Zarathos
- Didn’t get the name Daredevil
Wiz: Johnny soon ended up joining Crash in the stuntman business, until another tragedy reared its ugly head.
Boomstick: It was none other than the ugliest headed tragedy of all, cancer, and there was no hope for recover.
Wiz: At least, not from a medical standpoint. Through desperation and enough digging, Johnny was able to find a way to literally make a deal with the devil.
Boomstick: Mephisto, for that is his name, offered Johnny a deal; become his servant and he would save Crash's life. And it worked! Crash was up and about in no time. But if there's one thing we're all familiar with, it's doing things in vain.
Wiz: Perhaps as the ultimate reality check to Johnny on just what being a stuntman means, Crash died in his very next performance, rendering his soul-selling deal useless.
Boomstick: Mephisto certainly didn't think so though, because he now had himself a new underling to undertake his instructs.
Wiz: To better mold Johnny for this role, Mephisto bonded him to an ancient demon who had once challenged his rule, Zarathos.
Boomstick: With Zarathos providing the Ghost, and Johnny providing the Rider, they became just that; a Ghost Rider. Totally should have been called Daredevil but he was late to call dibs.
Wiz: In spite of technically being in Mephisto's power, Johnny was actually able to find the will to rebel against the demon pretty much from the get-go, deciding that he would instead use his new abilities to fight for the innocence. And if not that, then he would deliver a penance upon those who harmed them.
Boomstick: And boy-oh-boy did he commit. He's strong enough to rip metal doors off their hinges and tear down skyscrapers. He's also super fast, capable of either dodging or catching bullets at a moment's notice.
- Powers and Arsenal
- Superhuman strength
- Superhuman speed
- Regeneration
- Hellfire
- Hellfire Shotgun
- Chains
- Soul manipulation
- Size manipulation
- Hell Cycle
- Penance Stare
Wiz: Whilst his physical stats may be lacking compared to some of Marvel's heaviest hitters, he's by no means disadvantaged in that area, particularly thanks to his incredibly potent regeneration.
Boomstick: There is basically no way for a Ghost Rider to be physically destroyed. Another Ghost Rider, of which there are several by the way, with the same powers as Johnny once regenerated from basically getting atomized.
Wiz: Well, he did do from some Hellfire, but he has been recorded as possessing "godly" regeneration. This means he has a recovered ability superior to the likes of those who can regrow from nothing more than a single atom. And the VS wiki even lists down as low-godly regeneration enabling a person to reform so long as some non-physical aspect remains, like their mind or soul.
Boomstick: And here I was thinking that Deadpool had an OP healing factor. But I think you skimmed over a certain word back there Wiz?
Wiz: You mean "Hellfire"?
Boomstick: Yep! These flames, that Johnny can fire out or straight up summon, are enhanced with magical that lets it burn the very souls of those unfortunate enough to get hit.
Wiz: Speaking of getting hit, Johnny's signature weapon as the Ghost Rider are the mystical chains he can conjure out of his body, which are useful for snaring or whipping his foes into submission.
Boomstick: And if they don't, he just shoots them with his shotgun, which I'm pretty sure uses Hellfire for ammunition.
Wiz: And when he wants to peruse his opponents, he pulls out his mystically enhanced bike, which is alight with Hellfire, bringing a whole new meaning to the term burning rubber.
Boomstick: But whilst chain whips, soul-scorching fire, shotguns and a badass motorcycle are all admirable tools for a vengeance-obsessed skeleton, there's one power that's feared above any others. I'm talking about the Penance Stare.
Wiz: By having his victims look him in the eye, the Ghost Rider forces them to experience all the pain and misery that they have inflicted upon others throughout their entire lives, no matter how small or slight.
Boomstick: You ever hear of the trope Laser-Guided Karma? Well, the Penance Stare is pretty much its embodiment. You know, I've got to wonder what the Stare would do to either of us.
Wiz: Well, let's see, through our machinations, we have had combatants get sliced in half, shot, stabbed, crushed, vaporized, mind-wiped, turned into stone or a Dorito...yeah, if indirect actions count towards the Penance Stare, then our experience with it wouldn't be pretty. Especially since too many sins can result in the victim getting their souls destroyed.
Popup: Punisher, Deadpool and Venom have all survived the Penance Stare, though Ghost Rider can choose to spare others of the full might of the Stare at will.
Boomstick: Yikes. Well, at any rate, considering the nature of most of the people he uses the Stare, I'd say he puts it to good use.
- Feats
- Zarathos is a match for Mephisto
- Outraced Thor's hammer
- Blew up a mountain
- Swung his own motorcycle around like a club
- Another Ghost Rider survived complete physical destruction
- Defeated Hulk, Doctor Strange, Galactus, Mephisto
Wiz: He's bested dozens of frankly awful people in combat, even taking the fight to Mephisto at certain points.
Boomstick: That's an easy endeavor at most times, because Zarathos was a direct threat to him before being defeated. Oh, and by the way, without Johnny keeping him back in the corner of his mind, the red-skulled devil would go on a rampage!
Wiz: Even without restoring to releasing Zarathos, the Ghost Rider was actually able to defeated Galactus by himself using the Penance Stare and even survived a beatdown from World War Hulk, who's way more stronger than the iteration of the Hulk that smashed apart a meteor bigger than the whole Earth.
Boomstick: His Hell Cycle outraced Thor's hammer Mjoilnir, which can crossed the Galaxy is just under a minute, and is able to produce blasts so massive, they can completely destroy mountains. But not just any mountains; Himalayan mountains! The biggest kind.
Wiz: It has been said that the only one capable of truly destroying a Ghost Rider is the one true God, which goes a way in explaining just why holy weapons are the best means of harming and even killing a transformed Johnny.
Boomstick: Speaking of drawbacks, the Penance Stare has a glaring one; mainly, it needs direct eye-contact for it to work. And there aren't likely a lot of people who are willing to lock-eyes with a flaming skeleton. The light would hurt their eyes.
Wiz: Nevertheless, all sinners should beware that if they spill so much as a drop of innocent blood, the Ghost Rider will awake, ready to deliver their penance.
Ghost Roaster[]
Wiz: Each Skylander to be part of the force's ranks is indoctrinated into one of several elements. We have the standard Fire, Water, Air, Earth, even the mystical Light and Darks. But there are also the more unusual, like Magic, Life, Tech and Undead.
Boomstick: Not sure how they are Elements exactly, but hey, that's Skylanders for you. Those who are part of the Undead element are characterized by their, well, undead natures and creepily supernatural powers. Not to mention they have damn sinister dispositions.
Wiz: They can arguably be viewed as the anti-heroes of the Skylanders and few of them fill this criteria as much as Ghost Roaster.
- Background
- AKA Olav
- Height: Est. 4’
- Element: Undead
- Former chef
- Member of the Skylanders
- Favorite foods; Evil Ghosts, Spectral Soup and Phantom Fries
Boomstick: Before he was a Skylander, or even an undead being, he was a simple chef named Olav. Probably not a very good one though, since one of his recipes included sheep wool. It's like my Nana Boomstick once said, "If you use one part of the animal, you may need to use it all".
Wiz: Whilst collecting this unusual ingredient, Olav slipped and fell into the Valley of the Undead. Not only did he end up with a bruised posterior, but through some unknown means, he was transformed into an undead being. No longer Olav, Ghost Roaster set about filling his stomach on a new delicacy; ghosts.
Boomstick: Maybe he was called Ghost Roaster because that's what he did to some of the Ghosts before he ate them. Must have used the flames of hell as a cooker.
Wiz: Ghost Roaster's rampage soon drew the attention of the Ethereal Ruler, who captured him and attached a giant metal ball to his lower half, which would rattle whenever Ghost Roaster approached. Making it kind of hard for him to sneak on any ghost when he was feeling peckish.
Boomstick: Practically starving, Ghost Roaster was looked upon with pity by the Portal Master Eon, the leader of the Skylanders, who offered Ghost Roaster the chance to become a Skylander himself, so long as he only used his ghoul-gobbling abilities against evil ghosts. Or, you know, make other evil doers ghosts.
Wiz: You all at home can consider that phrase as a preview to just what Ghost Roaster brings to the table...he eats off. Sorry, couldn't help make an eating pun myself.
Boomstick: You get one Wiz, you get one. But yeah, Ghost Roaster has a collection of useful powers.
- Skills
- Chain Whip
- Pain Chain
- Skull Charge
- Metalhead
- Fright Bite
- Unfinished Business
- Life Transfer
- Ectoplasm Mode
- Phase Shift Burst
- Ecto-Friendly
- Nightmare Touch
- Haunt
- Lingering Curse
Wiz: One of which was him making the best of a bad situation and weaponizing the chain that was attached to his lower half as part of the Chain Whip.
Boomstick: He can make it stronger with the Pain Chain upgrade, and with another obtains the Haunt power.
Wiz: Whenever Ghost Roaster strikes an enemy down, their spirit carries on as a ghost which will attack other enemies.
Boomstick: Ghost Roaster's Soul Gem makes these Ghosts a whole lot tougher and they are know powerful enough to send them flying backwards. And he's able to incorporate these ghosts in his other abilities but we'll first tell you the basics.
Wiz: Ghost Roaster's most significant ability means that he becomes what Pac-Man was always meant to be; a ghost-gulping terror. Skull Charge is the name given to the skill that let's him transform himself into a giant skull and charge forwards, biting anyone unfortunate enough to get in his way.
Boomstick: Metalhead makes it last longer and Fright Bite increases its damage. And with Unfinished Business, the Skull Charge joins the Chain Whip in being able to create phantoms out of defeated enemies.
Wiz: Very useful, since Life Transfer means that if Ghost Roaster consumes a ghost, he'll heal from damage inflicted.
Boomstick: Too bad gameplay means that you can't use both upgrade paths at the same time, because that Life Transfer would go hand-in-hand with the drawback of his third ability, Ectoplasm Mode.
Wiz: At the cost of draining his life bar, Ghost Roaster can enter an intangible state that renders him immune to all forms of attacks.
Boomstick: Whilst it does hurt Ghost Roaster in the process, giving it the infamous honor of being one of only two Skylander abilities to actually hurt the Skylander, Ghost Roaster can make it more beneficial over time by unleashing a blast when he enters the state and Ecto-Friendly means his health goes down slower.
Wiz: And should he touch a ghost when is state, it would unleash a mighty explosion.
Boomstick: You know Wiz, you're right; Ghost Roaster is exactly what Pac-Man's meant to be. I'm pretty sure Ghost Roaster eats every last bite of the specters he snacks on, including the eyes. Those annoying, pesky, ghost-respawning eyes!
- Feats
- Can survive being close to Boris Blisterbottom
- Scales to light-speed reaction SuperChargers
- Ate an entire town of ghosts
- Shattered Radiance Crystals
- Helped defeat Kaos numerous times
- Defeated Spitfire, Stormblade, Nightfall, Spellslamzer
Wiz: Ghost Roaster carries with him the usual feats for Skylanders. Namely, scaling to light-speed reaction SuperChargers and being one of many, many choices to fight against Boris Blisterbottom, whose intense heat ended up boiling an entire ocean.
Boomstick: And other Skylanders are powerhouses in their own rights. For example, this chick Smolderdash and the plant dragon Camo can both shoot out, according to their ability descriptions, actual suns. Smaller than what you'd usually expect but hey, a sun is a sun.
Popup: It was stated that Eon made Ghost Rider promise not to ‘Turn Hex into a hamburger’, implying he is on a level of power similar to hers, or at least is a potential threat. Hex once defeated the Skylanders incarnation of Malefor, the Dark Master.
Wiz: As is a black hole, which the Skylander Deja Vu is capable of creating. True, Ghost Roaster can't do anything like that but he can take hits from these kind of attacks and deal just as much harm back.
Boomstick: The whole Skylanders-only-fighting-each-other-in-co-op-rounds isn't the only time they've fought each other either, so this holds weight. As a matter of fact, Ghost Roaster once battled several Skylanders himself, as part of a mission to be a double-agent for the Spell Punk boss, Spellslamzer.
Wiz: Until he became a double-double agent, brought on by his feelings of inadequacy from Skylanders like him getting left behind in favor of the new ones.
Boomstick: We're talking about the Skylanders who never so much as got a series 2 variant. Heck, Ghost Roaster alone was only available with the Darklight Crypt, which practically overshadows him in the bundle, so yeah, I can see where he's coming from, thought it doesn't really justify his attacking of three SuperChargers. Don't worry, he became a double-double-double agent at the last minute for some good old fashioned redemption.
Wiz: Ghost Roaster's morality was rarely pointed in the right direction. Just ask those innocent ghosts he swallowed. Still, he is nevertheless a Skylander, one with a new purpose given to him; the devouring of the souls of not the innocent, but the guilty.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle
The Battle[]
Setting: The outskirts of a Graveyard at night
Ghost Roaster was prowling about the graveyard, his stomach rumbling. He surveyed all the gravestones, beneath which lay the spirits of the deceased.
Ghost Roaster: Hmm...could go for a little snack right now. No one would even know.
?: You would.
A voice, not to mention the rumbling of a motorcycle, made the Undead Skylander turn around to see Ghost Rider upon his Hell Cycle staring him down.
Ghost Rider: But more importantly, so would I.
Ghost Roaster: Friend...you have caught me at a very bad time.
Ghost Rider: Well "friend", vengeance comes whenever it damn well pleases.
Ghost Roaster: In that case...I hope it's fast!
FIGHT!
Ghost Roaster suddenly turned tail, transformed into a massive skull and charged away towards the graveyard. Ghost Rider merely revved up his Hell Cycle and was giving case in no time. Ahead of him, the giant skull that was Ghost Roaster peeked out the corner of his eye to see his pursuer and smirked.
Ghost Roaster: Let's give you a little something to play with.
The Skylander was rapidly approaching a pack of wondering Chompies, which all leapt to attention when they saw just what was barreling towards them. A flash of his teeth as he reached them and Ghost Roaster had converted them into spirits, which flew towards Ghost Roaster as their creator dashed onwards. The Spirit of Vengeance swerved between the attacking spirits, forcing them to regroup to try and come at him from multiple angles. Ghost Roaster was having none of this however and he conjured to his hand a shotgun. The first spirit to charge at him head on was blown apart, vanquished by the bullet-shaped hellfire that the shotgun spat out. With each pull of the trigger, Ghost Rider eliminated a spirit each time but with so many, he didn't have time to take out the very last one, which darted forwards just as its target was distracted with destroying two others. The spirit tore through Ghost Rider's chest and out the other side, but immediately after doing so, it too was blasted by the Ghost Rider's shotgun, the hole in his body healing up afterwards. The Ghost Rider turned his heated gaze back on Ghost Roaster, who was snapping his jaws in anticipation at getting to eat the ghosts in the graveyard. Dispelling the shotgun, Ghost Rider replaced it with his long chain, whipping it out with a flick of his wrist.
Ghost Roaster was within centimeters of the graveyard before the chain wrapped around his mouth, stopping him short. He let out a stunded yell as Ghost Rider pulled on his chain, dragging Ghost Roaster across the ground, leaving an earthy crescent shaped trench. At the end of it, Ghost Roaster phased back into his normal state, letting the chain come undone from around himself. Ghost Roaster brought the Hell Cycle to a stop and climbed off. He marched over to where Ghost Roaster lay totaled on the ground.
Ghost Rider: You've had your fun and games specter but it is over now.
Ghost Roaster: Oh trust me, I haven't even gotten started.
Like a scorpion, he yanked his lower half outwards and tore the spiked ball on his end out of the ground, swinging it straight into Ghost Rider's side. The Spirit of Vengeance was thrown backwards by the attack, and upon landing on his feet looked up as Ghost Roaster sailed through the air towards him, flipping himself forwards to swing his mace downwards. Ghost Rider blocked the attack by crossing both his arms over his head, so that when the spiked ball slammed down, the impact against his body pushed Ghost Roaster away. The Skylander landed back on his "feet" just as Ghost Rider whipped his chain upwards and he was forced to dodge to the side before retaliating with a swipe of his own chain. Ghost Rider wrapped the lower end of his chain around his wrist and used it to protect himself from the attack. Sparks flew as the chains clashed together, and more of these flew out as Ghost Rider whipped the chain about as Ghost Roaster who used his own chain whips to counter these. Ghost Rider was able to wrap his chain around Ghost Roaster's and with a flick of his wrist had the Skylander's weapon embed itself in the ground. With Ghost Roaster nice and vulnerable, Ghost Rider opened his mouth and unleashed a wave of flame that swept over Ghost Roaster.
Once it died down, Ghost Roaster was revealed to have entered his Ectoplasmic form, saving him from the fire. On top of that, the form enabled him to remove his spiked ball from the ground and strafe backwards, hissing as he went. Ghost Rider lifted his hand to the air and Hellfire began raining down from the sky, forcing Ghost Roaster to dodge about, avoiding the blasts. After doing so, he looked back up to see that Ghost Rider had vanished. Not for long, however, as Ghost Rider suddenly appeared behind with a fiery teleportation and swung his fist upwards, catching Ghost Roaster on his chin when he turned back around. The Skylander was sent flying before crashing back down, throwing up a cloud of dirt upon doing so. Ghost Rider sent the blazing tip of his chain shooting towards the dust cloud but instead of it dispelling the particles, it was Ghost Roaster back in his skull form, who charged forwards and rapidly bit down on the chain, mashing it up as he went. This path of chomping brought him to Ghost Rider's arm, which he bit off with a flash of his teeth whilst speeding past. Ghost Rider stumbled from the literal disarming and although the limb quickly grew back, he wasn't ready for Ghost Roaster to turn around, boost his speed and surge back towards Ghost Rider, turning himself sideways to bite onto the Spirit of Vengeance's side in that respective manner. With Ghost Rider firmly lodged between his teeth and himself still charging forwards, Ghost Roaster dragged his quarry across the ground, leaving behind a trench as he did, before clenching his jaws to bite him in half. The two ends of Ghost Rider tumbled away from Ghost Roaster, suddenly drawing neared to knit themselves back together.
It was then that Ghost Roaster performed another turn around and charged again his foe, cackling as he did. To this, Ghost Rider glared up and stared forwards, growing in size as he did. It wasn't until Ghost Roaster noticed that Ghost Rider had grabbed a hold of his face, his palm now as big as Ghost Roaster's skull form. With a roar, the giant Ghost Rider picked up the Skylander and slammed him down into the earth with explosive strength, leaving behind a large crater. Pulling his hand away and shrinking back to his normal size, Ghost Rider looked down at the battered Ghost Roaster, square in the eye.
Ghost Rider: Now suffer for your sins.
But Ghost Roaster merely smirked.
Ghost Roaster: You first.
Before the Penance Stare could be fully activated, Ghost Roaster shifted into his Ectoplasm form again and this time there was an accompanying explosion that blew the Spirit of Vengeance to smithereens. Ghost Roaster whooped as he Skull Charged out of the crater and back towards the Cemetery. This time, even though Ghost Rider reformed and summoned his Hell Cycle to pursue after him, the anti-heroic Skylander was able to reach his destination.
Ghosts instinctively rose up from their graves and Ghost Roaster got to chowing them down. With each one consumed, his injuries healed and his strength increased, until he was good as new. He smirked at Ghost Rider, who sat upon his Hell Cycle glaring at him.
Ghost Rider: Now you've only made your penance that much worse.
Ghost Roaster: Maybe. But you're in my kitchen now. And I'm in the mood for a little Brulee Bonehead!
Ghost Rider snarled and zoomed forwards on his Hell Cycle towards Ghost Roaster. But in doing so, he had to pass through a swarm of floating Ghosts, exactly what Ghost Roaster had been hoping for. He entered Ectoplasm Mode and charged at the approaching Hell Cycle, suddenly veering to the side so that he could directly touch a ghost in this state of his. A explosion was a result, one which knocked Ghost Roaster off course and make him and his Hell Cycle crash onto their sides. As he was still surrounded by listless ghosts, Ghost Roaster darted about to each of them as well, a single touch being all that was needed to make them blow. Explosions worked together to tear the surrounding land apart and cover Ghost Rider within themselves. Scraps of burning bone and metal rained down along with charred earth until Ghost Roaster came to a stop, observing the pits he had made using Nightmare Touch.
Ghost Roaster: Heh...how'd you like that.
He winced as he exited his Ectoplasm state.
Ghost Roaster: Urgh...need to fuel up a bit after that.
He turned to leave, before a hand suddenly clamped down on his shoulder. The Skylander frowned, turned and was punched in the face by an irate Ghost Rider, sending him flying backwards to crash onto the ground. He groaned, several of his front teeth broken, and looked up to see Ghost Rider stalking towards him, no sign of any damage remaining. Only now did Ghost Roaster begin to feel the pricks of panic.
Ghost Rider: Word of advice; when you're a dead man walking, being dead already won't save you.
The Spirit of Vengeance widened his eyes and Ghost Roaster was hit with the Penance Stare. He yowled as his sins where reflected onto him, but he somehow found the will to transform into his Skull Charge once again, shooting towards Ghost Rider with lightning speeds. Even as eye contact was maintained and its effects broke down Ghost Roaster's spiritual essence, he was still able to reach Ghost Rider and bite his whole body up in one go. He chewed a little before giving a mock gulp.
Ghost Roaster: Hmm...spicy. A bit too spicy actually. Oh my...!
Smoke began to rise out of the corners of his mouth and his body turned red bit by bit. By the time the Undead Skylander realized what was happening, it was too late, and all he could do was scream before his entire self was blown to pieces by an explosion of Hellfire. Ghost Rider stood amongst the wreckage of his vanquished foe, a single glare at the still lingering ghosts sending them scurrying back into their graves.
KO!
Ghost Rider rode away on his Hell Cycle as Eon's spirit sadly shook his head over Ghost Roaster's remains.
Outcome[]
Boomstick: Well, guess we can add getting blown up from the inside out as another thing the Penance Stare will hold us accountable for.
Wiz: This was an unusual outcome. Not because it was necessarily unexpected but because of how it came to be.
Boomstick: Yeah, this was a battle where things like physical strength and speed didn't matter much because of both combatants undead natures. This was really a battle that could be determined by the unique abilities that both combatants had.
Popup: Even so, Ghost Roaster can only take so much damage before being put out of commission non-lethally, unlike Ghost Rider's incredible regeneration letting him fight no matter what.
Wiz: For example, many of Ghost Rider's abilities could wreck utter havoc on Ghost Roaster's soul, an aspect of being that couldn't really be protected by the physical body. Whilst Ghost Roaster may not have enough black in his binder to qualify getting his soul erased by the Penance Stare, he has consumed otherwise innocent ghosts and still inflicted pain on those he fights, so the Stare would hold a measure of power over him. Even if not, Ghost Rider's Hellfire would be more than enough to compensate.
Popup: Ghost Rider has shown the ability to interact with spirits like Ghost Roaster and his techniques have worked on them in the past.
Boomstick: Ghost Roaster's own soul destroying techniques next, and we say that because that's what eating ghosts essentially means; the power to directly attack the soul. Since Ghost Rider has never actually shown immunity to soul manipulate himself, it's entirely possible that Ghost Roaster could have eaten his, and by expansion, Zarathos, who is bonded to his soul. But actually getting the chance to was a different matter altogether.
Wiz: You see, in order to create the ghosts that he eats, Ghost Roaster first needs to make them through the slaying of his foes, meaning that an individual first needs to actually die to become a ghost. And as we've mentioned before, the only way for Ghost Rider to be killed is through holy weaponry. And guess what? Ghost Roaster didn't have anything like that.
Boomstick: Yeah, old Roaster can't do anything like bite someone and directly hurt their soul. He actually needs to get it out in the open first.
Popup: Whilst the Ghosts that Roaster could make are disembodied souls, this does not mean they can hurt the souls of others.
Wiz: With the regenerative capacity to recover from any damage that Ghost Roaster could throw at him, it was only a matter of time before Johnny destroyed Ghost Roaster in spirit.
Boomstick: Or, you know, just let Zarathos out to unleash his universe threatening might. Guess you could say Ghost Roaster's only option was to Ride out the storm but at least he could go out in a Blaze of glory.
Wiz: The winner is Ghost Rider.

Trivia[]
- Connections: Both are undead beings with skull heads who became heroes after possessing an original career (stunt driver and chef respectively). Both also use chains in battle and have unique abilities related to their facial features (Penance Stare and the ability to eat ghosts respectively). Furthermore, both the initials of their names are GR and have had a history of fighting against other heroes and both eat souls (Ghost Rider's form as Zarathos can eat souls and Ghost Roaster can eat ghosts).
- Animation Style: 2D.
- OST Idea: 'Roasted Rider', referring to both their titles preceding the ghost parts in an alliterative manner.
