Hololive vs Spongebob Squarepants! As the most representative character of their own series, they may look like they're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and in fact, they indeed aren't, their powers are still far more than the surface of what you can see. Who would win this fight between these two hard-working and passionate workers? Will the predator of the sea remain supremacy? Or the goofy goober will overcome her strength with his softness?

Wiz: These two fighters from under the sea might looks dumb, but don't be fooled by their innocent appearance, they were definitely not a force you want to reckon with when they need to fight.
Boomstick: Man, this is definitely going to be one of the goofiest battle in our show's history! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle!
P.S.: This fight would mostly only consider their main canon sources, such as videos from the official channel and Hololive members' main channel for Hololive, this did not include MVs from Hololive original and cover songs, and the cartoon as source for SpongeBob. This means we are excluding fan content such as Myth's bad ending, Holocure and Idol showdown, and half-canon games like Holo parade for Hololive, and we also exclude comics and video games for SpongeBob (Simply because I have never read and played them before). Also, versions of characters from alternative universes are excluded, too, so no Hololive ERROR or HalloweEN comics from Fauna.

Wiz: It was a long time ago, 9000 years ago to be more precise. There used to be a lost civilization under the sea, it was the lost city of Atlantis.
Boomstick: There used to be a lot of Atlanteans, until one day, they all vanished for an unknown reason, and there was only one left.
Wiz: And her name was Gawr Gura.

Wiz: Well, it was not confirmed that she actually killed all of her compatriots, however, considering some of her, um, specialties, it is highly likely that what you said it’s true, but we’ll talk about that later.
Boomstick: As the apex predator like she herself claimed to be, she was unrivaled in the ocean, and after 9000 boring years under the sea, she decided that she is going to, get on land! Wow, how surprising.
Wiz: She landed on a random coast in America, after almost getting caught by police because of her being naked. She bought a hoodie from a store, with sand and shells.

Gura heard a voice (IRyS) calling her
Wiz: Yes, but it seems like the money underwater is sand and shells, so in her perspective, she did pay for the clothes. Anyways, when she was alone with nowhere to go, she heard a voice calling.
Boomstick: And that was when she saw Hololive poster recruiting the first generation of English members. This was how she decided to join Hololive, and became a Virtual YouTuber, and an undisputed idol.
Gura and Holomyth
Wiz: There, she met other people who had joined Hololive like her, who would later become her Genmates like Amelia Watson, a British detective who can travel through time; Takanashi Kiara, a phoenix who would always revive in different universes after her death; Mori Calliope, the chief disciple of the Reaper himself; and Ninomae Ina’nis, the priest of the Ancient Ones.
Boomstick: The five of them together were known as "Holomyth", and much to her surprise, even as the last survivor from Atlantis, she didn't seem special among the group.
Wiz: And what’s probably more surprising is that Hololive is already filled with lots of supernatural or mythical beings, such as yokai, demons, animal girls, people from another world, or aliens. Honestly speaking, it is harder for you to find a normal human in Hololive than supernatural ones.
Boomstick: And we are not just taking about some regular supernatural beings, but some absurd ones! When you really dig into the powers these vtubers have, you would be surprised at a lot crazy shit they have!
Wiz: Well yes indeed, however, what feats and abilities Gura can scale to is a really hard question when power-scaling Hololive, since she is not stronger than all of her genmates and senpais, even noticeably weaker than some of them.
Pop-up Note: As one of the best fighters in Atlantis, her combat skills are definitely impressive. However, we have no reason to believe that she can fight on par with some of her colleagues like Mori Calliope, who manages the concept of death, or Tokino Sora, who is basically the goddess in Hololive. And she has shown multiple times that she was afraid of Chloe, who was an orca.
Boomstick: But that doesn't mean she's not powerful! In fact, she possesses some powers that you wouldn't imagine just based on her appearance. Such as her power to control water, or talk to marine creatures!

Boomstick: Those are not the only thing Gura can do, as a vtuber of Hololive, they share some insane abilities such as creating energy beam, manipulate memories and emotions, or interacting with non-corporeal existence like souls, emotions and even concepts.
Pop-up Note 1: In Hololive, vtubers share a lot of abilities such as insane regeneration, plot manipulation, reality warping, 4th wall breaking, and many others. They were so frequently shown by different members to the point that we can easily assume that all Hololive members share those abilities.
Pop-up Note 2: Another proof of them sharing the same set of abilities is that all Hololive vtubers’ powers come from “the gem”, which is a gem-like abstract source of their powers. However, “the gem” is just a representation of their power source, there is actually no such gem that exists, so unlike those gems in magical girl anime, it’s impossible to remove their powers by trying to take away or destroy their gems.

Wiz: She also has godlike regeneration scalable to the other members, she can regenerate from getting sliced, stabbed, chopped, getting her head twisted off, reduced to ashes, or even erased into nothingness. Like the time when Amane Kanata got erased by the god, but she just came back immediately. Gura is also unaffected by space-time continuality, which means erasing her from time cannot kill her.
Boomstick: Such as how Ouro Kronii, the warden of time who controls all timelines of all dimensions, can’t erase Amelia Watson from time, and Gura is a lot stronger than her. Another good example is when Kronii accidentally turned human beings into Fubuzillas, whatever that is, because of some mistake she made while managing time, but the vtubers just… turned back to normal after that somehow.

Pop-up Note: There are multiple proofs that the multiverse of Hololive is infinite-dimensional with infinite timelines and infinite universes. The biggest proof is from Tsukumo Sana, the speaker of space, "Space" refers not only to this universe we live in, but all dimensions and matter that exist. It is a concept unbridled by definition, and one that continues to grow in scope limitlessly. And Ouro Kronii is on par, if not stronger, with Sana, which means Gura should be able to be unaffected by an infinite-dimensional scale of time manipulation and existence erasure if Kronii was unable to erase her.
Wiz: Not only that she can regenerate from nothingness, she also can’t die easily. Like how Uruha Rushia, the necromancer in Hololive, whose instant kill magic failed to work on vtubers, and how Calliope banned vtubers from going to the underworld, which is where people go after their death in Hololive cosmology.

Wiz: Not to mention that she has many other abilities to help her fight against others. She can shapeshift to anything and freely control her size, create things from thin air, changing reality by thinking, and she can even mess with the fourth wall.

And Gura can easily scale to both of them.

Boomstick: She can also freely switch herself between 2D and 3D, changing her animation style between chibi and normal, or even shapeshift to anything you can imagine like her many other colleagues. For example, Tokino Sora once shapeshifted into a piano, and Sakura Miko once turned herself into a human-headed fish. Even shrinking to palm size or growing as large as a galaxy isn’t any problem for her.
Wiz: However, it would still be useless for her to have those abilities if she doesn’t have enough raw power and combating skills to actually fight a good fight. Luckily, her power and speed were no less bonkers than her abilities. Let’s talk about her strength first.

And the said Noel can fight on par with Kiryu Coco, who views Ookami Mio, Shiragami Fubuki, Tsunomaki Watame, Nekomata Okayu and Inugami Korone as mere specks.
Wiz: That means Gura was able to directly scale to them. Korone can casually create supernova, and Watame can destroys lots of stars in one attack. Being able to scale to them already gives Gura multi-solar system level in power.
Suisei hit them so hard that they went back in time
Boomstick: But that is not the end. Gura can also scale to Hoshimachi Suisei, who hit people so hard that they were sent back in time. That is an immeasurable feat.

Wiz: And her speed was also no joking matter, let’s start with some smaller feats. Even a casual walking speed by Matsuri can reach Mach 80. She can also easily keep up with Suisei, yes, the same Suisei we just mentioned, who can run around the entire Earth eight times with ease, which is roughly 1.07 times the speed of light.
Ayame and Mio traverse the underworld
Boomstick: Remember vtubers like Tokoyami Towa and Himemori Luna can travel across the galaxy in seconds, or the time when Ookami Mio and Nakiri Ayame traverse the entire underworld, which is stated to be as big as our universe, in only 40 seconds! Geez, these girls are FAST!
Wiz: That would be about 73 quadrillion times the speed of light, not to mention that universes in Hololive is probably larger than our universe.

Pop-up Note: In Sana’s introduction, we know her official height was about as high as the diameter of the sun in Hololive, however, her height is actually about twelve times our sun's diameter, and some other evidence even proves that Sana is even bigger than that, which implies that every calculation we did here were massive lowballs.
Boomstick: Some vtubers like Kiryu Coco, Momosuzu Nene and Aki Rosenthal can even travel between universes in finite time, which is, again, an immeasurable feat.

Boomstick: Not only is it nearly unbreakable, enduring to absolute zero and temperature as hot as supernovas, but it can also give Gura the power to manipulate the entire ocean, including water and sea creatures.
Pop-up Note: However, except for her main weapons that is her trident and Minecraft swords and pickaxes, none of the other tools mentioned above are actually standard enough for her to use in mid-battle.

Wiz: Pro…bably, but since there are no exact proof for that, let’s just move on to something else, like her weakness. Even with all the absurd powers she possessed, she still has a few weaknesses.

Boomstick: But still, she was no doubt the apex predator, and one of the best hunters of Hololive.

Boomstick: Fish, shrimp, crab, octopus, clams… there are a lot of things I would think of, and they are all delicious.
Wiz: Well, you are not wrong, however, who we’re going to talk about today, is a sea creature that most people probably would not think of in their first thought, sea sponges!
Boomstick: Oh! I know who we’re going to discuss about today! That one who lives in a pineapple under the sea!

Wiz: You are probably thinking: “How can such a dumb-looking sponge like him do that?” Well, he is actually a lot stronger than many people gave him credit for, and the fact that him being one of the heaviest hitters in cartoon history might surprise you.

Boomstick: Now, let’s see what he can do. He can fly in various ways, freely transform into any shape, create illusions, and duplicate himself and his body parts, those body parts can even move on their own. He can also create a skin shell when grabbed, sense things when his organs for that kind of sense weren’t even there, and feel people reading his mind or reading other people’s minds.
Wiz: Not only that, he can manipulate his own size, enter other people’s dreams, survive in the vacuum of space and survive being starving and thirsty for a long time, and interact with non-corporal beings like ghosts, or even someone that does not truly exist.
Boomstick: However, his most iconic ability is definitely his insane regeneration, he can regenerate from getting sliced in half, chopped into pieces, getting rubbed to dust, getting digitized, or even getting erased out of existence in the episode “The string”.
Pop-up Note: Although SpongeBob was unraveled out of existence, we can still hear his laugh somewhere, which implies he is not dead.
Wiz: With all the regeneration he has shown, it is almost impossible to kill him, not to say that he was already too tough to even be harmed. Like how he was able to survive huge explosions on a daily basis, being shot by a beam of King Neptune’s trident, which ignores even Patrick’s regeneration, or Partick’s bad breath, so bad that it could melt buildings. He is basically immune to all kinds of physical damage.
Boomstick: And he also wouldn’t die of old age, like how he was still able to work as a skeleton after an eternity. Even if you overcome the unbelievable toughness of his body, he can still fight as a ghost. It might not sound that impressive, but even the horrifying Flying Dutchman didn’t want to reap his soul. He can also kill inanimate objects to take their souls. Which… doesn’t make sense at all.
Wiz: It was never meant to make sense, Boomstick, it’s a cartoon. The last but probably the wildest part of his immortality is that he was able to come back as long as he exists in the audience’s hearts, as how the narrator stated. Even after all those crazy things we covered, believe me, we’re just getting started.
Boomstick: He was able to mimic the narrator, or just straight up rammed over him, even though he is an abstract being. He can freely enter people’s dream and bring things out from the dream, erase people’s memories by blow their thought bubble away, drive people insane to a degree that they not only can’t stand staying with him, some even tries to kill themselves. Entering his mind not only could make people crazy, it can even slowly damage their soul.
Wiz: His mental defense is also really impressive, he didn’t get affected by plankton trying to hypnotize him, or putting his brain into a robot and force him to do things. He can also resist getting possessed, morality removed, or transmuted by others. He also didn’t get affected by the Randomland, which drives anyone who enters it insane, he can even mess with his own mind to turn himself psychotic.
Boomstick: Geez, the guy is crazy, how many powers did he actually has?
Wiz: That’s what happened when you are a character in a cartoon with 14 seasons, it’s not surprising that a lot of things happened within them. Anyways, besides those powers that we just mentioned, as a cartoon character, it would not be interesting if he didn’t have some sort of law-defying and fourth-wall-breaking abilities. Ramming into the narrator of his own show is certainly one, but there’s a lot more than that.
Boomstick: Like how he was able to rotate the entire planet by turning a screw, or nailing boards in the air. Wiz: He once worked for Squidward for so long that the narrator got tired of waiting, and they had to hire a new one. He also seems to have a good relationship with the mysterious hand Hans, and he once even asked Painty the pirate to tell him how to tie his shoelaces.
Boomstick: He also got so lucky that it almost seems like he can control reality subconsciously, he almost always able to dodge events that is dangerous enough to harm him, like he was able to dodge Sandy’s karate master’s attacks by accident, or multiple killers trying to kill him all end up failing. His luck can also be used in good ways like how he was able to catch all the Jellyfish in his net without doing anything, or how his letter to the Vikings was able to successfully delivered to them after tons of unlikely events.
Wiz: However, the scariest power of his is probably his ability to actually “change reality”, in the episode “Friendiversary”, Squidward stated that SpongeBob remembers everything that ever happened, things that never happened, and even things that will happen. Things that will never happen, if he remembers, happen.
Boomstick: Woah, now that brought the creepiness to a whole new level…
Wiz: Indeed, however, that ability was not unbeatable, if you erase his memory, he would still forget them. However, that would need a total erasure of everything about that thing you wanted him to forget, like how Squidward was able to make SpongeBob forget him entirely by erasing SpongeBob’s memory about him with an eraser of a pencil. As long as you don't try to make him recall it, it would be permanent.
Boomstick: But honestly, with so many abilities that I almost lost count, how strong is he exactly? I mean, we all know that he has tons of powers, but how powerful is he physically?
Wiz: Probably a lot stronger than most people think. He was able to survive the entire amount of water of the ocean exploded on him, that’s 1.5 quintillion tons. Considering all the water refilled the planet in about one second, that'd be a kinetic energy of over 6,000 yottatons, and he is totally fine. And that’s not it, he was able to unravel the entire universe with the string, and hold it in his hands. Which basically means he hold the weight of his universe on his hand.
Pop-up Note: However, this is debatable, since it’s scientifically impossible to condense the mass of an entire universe into such a small volume. You can still believe he was carrying the entire universe in his arm, but it’s more likely he just used toon force to change its mass.
Boomstick: And that can also imply to his speed, he was able to unravel the entire universe in about five seconds, his speed would be… uh, Wiz, help?
Wiz: (Sighs) It is about 8.2 times 10 to the 78th power times faster than light, still remains our show's fastest calculable speed, and I am not even going to try saying anything about it.
Pop-up Note: However, SpongeBob’s universe could possibly be a lot bigger than ours. In the episode “Squid’s on a bus”, we can see “Crush County” being 80,000,043 fathoms deep. If we assume it's equivalent to the Mariana Trench of our Earth, which is about 6033.5 fathoms, that would make the radius of the Earth in SpongeBob’s universe about 13259.3 times bigger than ours, and this scale could likely be extended to the size of its universe. Again, this makes all the calculations we did here a massive lowball.

Wiz: And he’s not only good at fighting barehandedly, he can also fight with many different kinds of weapons and items, some are even magical.
WEAPONS AND TOOLS
- Spatula: One of his most used items, normally used for his job making patties. However, when needed, it can be used like a sword. It can also be used to help him fly by spinning the spatula’s head.
- Bubble-blowing set: Can be used to create bubbles that can trap others or teleport others away, the bubble is so sturdy that even Squidward can’t break out of it. It can also be used as anything he wants if he blows it in the shape of the things he needs.
- Jellyfish catching net: Can be used to catch jellyfish, it’s so sturdy that it can even penetrate Squidward’s hand if given enough force. It is also electricity-proofed and seems to have a weird effect on attracting jellyfish.
- Goofy Goober Guitar: Can shoot out beams of sound so strong that it easily breaks Plankton’s mind-controlling helmets.
- The magic pencil: Can create things out of thin air by drawing things with it, it can even create portals. It can also erase anything with the eraser at the end of it, ignoring regeneration. However, they would not be guaranteed to follow the user’s order if the user drew sentient things.
- The magic book: Can manipulate the plot of the story, it can also make anything written in the book become truth. However, it can only be used on a universal scale at most.
- Quickster’s suit: Can be used to run to that mountain and back, and you can see him do it again if you want to.
Boomstick: Like his spatula! That is no ordinary spatula, it can not only be used to fly, SpongeBob once even used it to fight a pirate! However, there is one function that is the most important of all… it can be used to fry Krabby Patties!
Wiz: And don’t forget his bubbles, they are ridiculously powerful, they can be used as anything you can imagine, like anchors or missiles. It can also be used to trap people, or even teleport them away.
Boomstick: He also has his Goofy Goober guitar that is so “Rock and Roll” that it destroys metal helmets or a jellyfish net that can almost magically catch all the jellyfish. He even has a time machine, can you believe that?
Wiz: Well, nothing about him is absurd enough to even surprise me anymore. And compared to his magic book and magic pencil, the things you mentioned just now really come short.
Boomstick: Yeah, those two babies are just too overpowered! The magic pencil can create anything out of thin air, even sentient beings, and the magic book can even manipulate the plot and grant wishes written in the book! It’s like a “Reality warping” version of the death note.
Wiz: The magic book is indeed a powerful item, however, it still has its shortcomings. First, SpongeBob can’t use the book to make things come true just by thinking, he has to take time to write his wish in it to make it happen. And second, the book can’t affect the scope beyond his universe.
Pop-up Note: This is proved by Bubbles the Dolphin saying that the page has the power to destroy the universe which means SpongeBob couldn't wish beyond it. However, considering it is still effective when SpongeBob and Plankton travel through time, its effect can likely be extended to the entire timeline of his universe.
Boomstick: However, it still wouldn’t stop SpongeBob from being one of the most overpowered cartoon characters of all times!
Wiz: So, when you want to try to harm his friends or disturb his life, beware and rethink your decision again. Because this happy-go-lucky sea sponge can always become serious and fight for everyone he loves when he needs to.
SpongeBob: “No one can change a person, but someone can be a person for that person to change.”

Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!

The scene began with Gura inside her old home at Atlantis, however, because there was no food underwater, Gura decided to use her most trusted food delivery platform, Tako Eats, to order some pizza.
After a few minutes, the bell at Gura's house rang.
Gura: “Coming!”
Gura walked to the door, but when she opened it, the delivery man in front of her was not the Takodachis she was familiar with, but a yellow sea sponge.
SpongeBob: “Hello miss… Here is your pizza!”
Gura: “Hey, you’re not from Tako Eats~”
SpongeBob: “Tako Eats? I don’t really know what that is, but you should definitely try out our new Krabby patty pizza!”
SpongeBob opened the pizza box and showed Gura a pizza, but sandwiched between two slices of hamburger buns.
Gura: “A hamburger pizza? Whose genius idea is that?”
SpongeBob: "Well, it was my idea. No one really thought it was going to sell well at first, but then a lot of things happened, and then... it ended up like this."
Gura: “Cool, I’ll try one.”
Gura gave SpongeBob some money.
SpongeBob: “Sure, there you go---woah!”
When SpongeBob was about to hand the pizza box over to Gura, he accidentally tripped over his own shoelaces and the whole pizza fell to the ground.
Gura: “Hey! My pizza!”
SpongeBob: “I’m really sorry, miss! Let me see if I can get you a new one…”
A thought bubble immediately appears above SpongeBob, and it was the scene before he left to deliver pizza.
Mr. Krabs in memory: “Remember, Sponge me boy, no matter what happened, we don’t offer free pizza.”
Gura: “Hey, that’s ridiculous! Then how are you going to pay me back!”
Gura shouted at the Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob’s thought bubble.
SpongeBob: “Wait, you can actually see that?”
Gura: “Yeah, of course! It’s just over there above your head, why should I not be able to see it? Anyway, your worker’s mistake ruined my pizza, I demand a refund!”
Mr. Krabs in memory: “No way!”
After he said that, he walked out of the visible range of the bubble.
SpongeBob: “Bye, Mr. Krabs! Well, you heard what he said, I can’t really do anything about that.”
Gura: “But you can’t just leave like this without doing anything! That’s definitely against the law!”
SpongeBob: “What law? This place is so remote, I don't even know if this place is within King Neptune's rule.”
Gura: “Well then, great! If you’re not going to do anything to pay me back, I guess I’ll just do it myself.”
SpongeBob: “What… are you going to do?”
Gura: “Take my money back… with force!”
Gura immediately punched SpongeBob in the face, and SpongeBob was knocked several feet away. The money in Spongebob's hand fell from his hand and was immediately caught by Gura.
SpongeBob: “So you really want to do this? Well, let’s do this then!”

SpongeBob ran toward Gura, suddenly, he was equipped with his karate set, as he swung his hand on Gura.
Didn’t get surprised, Gura blocked SpongeBob’s attack by crossing her arm in front of her head, she then opened her arms, and the impact sent SpongeBob back a bit.
SpongeBob landed on the ground, unsteadily taking back a few steps before being able to stand properly.
SpongeBob: “Oh, you do know how to fight a bit or two, don’t you?”
Gura: “Of course I do, I used to be the best fighter of Atlanteans, before I accidentally murdered all of… oops.”
Gura shut her mouth before she accidentally let out some secret that she didn't want anyone to know, however, it seemed like it was already too late.
SpongeBob: “Did you just say… murder?”
Gura: “No, you heard it wrong! Hmph, whatever! I'm going to finish you off anyway! Trident, come here!”
Gura raised her right hand, the moment she did that, a trident flew out from the depths of her house and flew straight into her hands.
Gura: “Ha! I got a trident!”
Gura raised her trident toward the sky, in an instant, countless waves emerged from behind her.
Gura: “Take this!”
A huge amount of water stroke toward SpongeBob, the current was so strong that it almost swept him away. However, SpongeBob immediately began to absorb the water, and growing larger and larger.
SpongeBob: “I am a sea sponge, I can absorb as much water as I want to! Now let’s see if you can endure your own attack!”
SpongeBob expelled the water he absorbed from his body at once through the holes in his body, forming many thick columns of water.
Gura waved the trident in her hand, twisting the direction of all the water jets that came towards her.
Gura: “Ha! Is that all you got?”
SpongeBob: “Of course not!”
SpongeBob took out his spatula and jumped toward Gura, using it as a sword to fight Gura’s trident.
Gura: “That’s a pretty sturdy spatula I must say.”
SpongeBob: “Yeah, this pal has been with me helping me with my job for decades.”
Gura: “Good for you! I also love my job as a vtuber!”
The sound of spatulas and tridents clashing against each other continued. Due to Gura's strength, SpongeBob was gradually suppressed to the walls of other broken buildings in the ruins.
With a bit more force, Gura knocked the spatula out of his hand, and now the tip of her trident was pressed against his spongy body.
Gura: “Wanna give up now?”
SpongeBob: “Never!”
SpongeBob took out his bubble-blowing set, and immediately blew a huge bubble, trapping Gura inside.
Gura: “What? Do you really think a bubble like this is going to stop me?”
SpongeBob: “Well… maybe?”
SpongeBob blew another bubble, it floated toward the bubble that trapped Gura and entered the bubble.

SpongeBob: “A bomb.”
The moment he finished speaking, the bomb-shaped bubble exploded, and the impact blew Gura far away.
SpongeBob: “Woah, that blew her pretty far… wonder if she’s okay…?”
On the other side, after Gura got blown away, she broke through several walls in the process, and finally fell into a ruin.
Gura: “Grghhhhhh…. That hurts….”
Gura’s head was now bleeding, she felt a bit dizzy, as she slowly tried to get up.
Suddenly, she heard a voice talking to her in her head.
???: “Look at this so-called “gem of the sea”, odd and scrawny, don’t you see what I mean? Return to what you know, it ain’t much I know… Heh, it shows.”
Gura knew this voice, it was herself, more precisely, it was her bloodlust, a personality that she wanted to forget, a sin that she hoped to seal, a total madness she wished that she would never remember ever again.
Gura: “Shut up, Gawr, I don’t know what you’re thinking, I just want to be myself!”
Gawr: “Heh! If you don't conform, why are you even born? There ain't no hopes, there ain't no dreams. Only pain, pain, pain, pain. Be yourself? Do you even know who you are?”
Gura: “Of course I do! I…”
Gawr: “Give it up, a shark is all you’ll ever be.”
Gura: “No! I don’t want this… I don’t…”
Her voice became weaker and weaker, and now her mind was gradually occupied by a single but surprisingly distinct thing, the smell of blood. The strong smell of blood evoked emotions that she had deliberately forgotten for a long time, which as the desire for violence and blood.
Gura's consciousness gradually sank, as if he had sunk into the endless ocean and could never come back to the surface. The hint of blue at the end of Gura's hair turned into blood-like bright red, and her eyes were also shining red. She is now Gawr, the blood-lusted personality of Gura.
Gawr: “Trident.”
She only said one word to summon her trident. The trident flew from a distance where it had fallen. The original dark blue trident had now turned bright red. She looked at the trident in her hand with a hint of a mad, wild smile. She is now ready to hunt, oh, pardon my words, I mean to massacre, that goddamn sea sponge who dared to harm her beloved one.
Gawr jumped slightly and returned to the place where Gura was originally knocked away. Before SpongeBob could react, Gawr already rushed straight towards him, violently tearing him in half.
Gawr: “So you think that’s all, huh? Just gonna leave like it’s nothing?”
She continued to stab him with her trident, sometimes even trying to use her mouth to bite him into even smaller pieces.
Before Gawr completely tore him apart, a smaller piece of SpongeBob’s body secretly escaped and hid behind a ruin some distance away, and immediately regenerated his full body back to normal.
SpongeBob: “Oh my barnacles! Why did she suddenly become so violent? And her hair and eyes turned red… did she get possessed or something? I guess I’ll have to stop her… with this!”
SpongeBob took out a pencil from his head, it’s the magic pencil he used to create the evil DoodleBob.
He jumped out from behind the ruin with the pencil in his hand.
SpongeBob: “Hey, monster! I’m here!”
Gawr: “So you're still not dead? I did expect you to be hard to kill, but I didn't expect you to be this hard to kill. Well, that’s good news for me, that means I can treat you as my new punching bag and torture you for what you did to my beloved Gura.”
SpongeBob: “If you can do it, come then!”
SpongeBob shook the pencil in his hand as if he was provoking her.
Gawr: “Oh? What are you going to do with that pencil? Anyway, time to hunt!”
Gawr rushed toward SpongeBob even faster than before, raising her trident ready to strike SpongeBob. However, he blocked it with the magic pencil.
Gawr: “You blocked it? What kind of bullshit pencil was that?!”
SpongeBob: “Surprised already? Then let’s see what would you think about this!”
He pointed the eraser end of the pencil at Gura and began to erase her body.
Gawr: “Erasing me with an eraser? How is that even possible?”
Gawr was enraged by the mocking-like action of SpongeBob, she immediately swiped her trident, and broke the magic pencil in half, sending the eraser end flying away.
The next instant, Gawr had already grown back the parts where she got erased.
SpongeBob: “Woah, you can do that? I thought the pencil’s effects were irreversible! At least not by drawing them back with it.”
Gawr: “Guess it’s not that effective on me, huh?”
Gawr said as she once again used her trident to attack SpongeBob, sending him flying back a few meters.
SpongeBob: “I’ve now only got this side of the pencil, if I can’t erase her, maybe I could…”
SpongeBob immediately drew a door as Gawr rushed toward him.
Gawr: “What the heck?!”
Before Gawr was able to stop herself, she broke into the door, and the door disappeared behind her as soon as she entered it.
SpongeBob: “Whew, that was close…”
On the other side, after Gawr entered the door.
Gawr: “Where even is this place…”
The place around her was chaotic, or more accurately, it was “random”.
Gawr: “Whatever, I’m not staying here.”
After a few seconds of trying to figure out where she was, Gawr eventually gave up, and she immediately teleported back to where she was.
Gawr: “Boom! Baby! I’m back!”
SpongeBob: “What?! You’re already back?!”
Gawr: “And I had enough of these fancy tricks! Trident!”
The trident once again appeared in her hand, and she raised her hand…
Gawr: “And… go!”
She threw out her trident at SpongeBob, faster than a speeding bullet… actually, it’s faster than even light itself, and a lot faster than that.
SpongeBob: “Great Neptune! Guess I’ll have to use my secret technique!”
SpongeBob jumped on the spot, and suddenly, a huge wave of bubbles came up from below.
Then he landed at a far distance from Gawr behind some ruins, in fact, it’s another scene of the animation.
SpongeBob: “Not even the pencil work on her, there must be something that could work…”
When SpongeBob was thinking of a solution, Gawr was now finding him.
Gawr: “Come out, you coward! Stop hiding! Fight me like a man!”
As Gawr slowly became closer and closer to where SpongeBob was hiding, he was thinking so hard that his brain felt like burning.
SpongeBob: “Think, SpongeBob… you know you can do this… Oh, I know what I’m going to do now!”
Suddenly, an idea appeared in his mind, and a light bulb appeared above his head at the same time.
SpongeBob took out a piece of paper from his mind, and a set of ink and quill pen, but his shout of realization also alerted Gawr to his location.
Gawr: “Ha! I found you! Now face your doom for what you’ve done!”
Gawr rushed toward where SpongeBob was hiding, as SpongeBob was writing something on the paper.
SpongeBob: “Please don't be too late, please don't… Yes!”
Before Gawr’s fist was able to land on SpongeBob, Gawr’s body disintegrated into nothingness.

SpongeBob looked at the paper in his hand, with a few words written on it — “Make that shark girl disappear.”
SpongeBob sat down weakly, panting and thinking about the victory he finally won.
After a while, he stood up and slowly walked away from the scene, leaving only a trident that changed back from red to blue lying on the ground.

A familiar voice sounded behind SpongeBob, making him turn around in surprise.
Gura: “Because of you, I successfully regained control of my body. Thank you.”
Gura said weakly to SpongeBob, although surprised, SpongeBob still replied her.

However, SpongeBob can see the will in her eyes, she is not going to give up.
Gura: “I insisted that I have to beat you by my own hands, I can’t let Gawr do it for me. I need to prove to her that I am not the kid that she needs to protect anymore.”
Gura said as she emerged a huge amount of energy between her two hands.
SpongeBob: “You know, I used to always be called as a kid before, a man-child, a dumb person that never grew up, however, I did not give up. Why? Because I am… because I am… I’m a goofy goober!”
A huge explosion exploded around SpongeBob at the same time Gura fired her energy beam, and SpongeBob was now in his Rock Wizard form.
SpongeBob also shot out a laser beam from his electric guitar, which collided with Gura’s energy beam.
Both of them knew certainly in both of their hearts that this, is the final showdown.
The time process of this collision seemed to be as slow as eternity, until finally, one of the beams was broken off balance.
SpongeBob: "Well, it was a pleasure that my last moments were spent fighting you. Goodbye."
SpongeBob said as Gura’s energy beam quickly overruned him and disintegrated his entire body.
After the beam dissipated, there was no sign of SpongeBob left, and there was no trace of him ever existed in this world.
He was totally erased, physical, spiritual, and even conceptual.
Gura: “Thanks, even though everyone would forget you ever existed, I will always remember you.”
Gura silently walked toward her trident, picked it up, and went back to her house.
Nobody knows how long after, a flower quietly grew up in the place where he used to exist.

Post-credit scene A: Gura finally got her pizza from Tako Eats, she took the box of pizza to her bathroom and filled her bathtub with hot water, and then she showered in the bathtub. While she picked up a piece of pizza and was ready to eat it, it accidentally dropped in the water, reminding her once again of SpongeBob’s death for just a dumb pizza. She let out a huge sigh as she picked up that already moist piece of pizza and ate it.
Post-credit scene B: Squidward and Mr. Krabs were in the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs felt like he was waiting for someone to come back, but then shook his head thinking it was just his imagination. Squidward suddenly looked back in the kitchen, there of course was a cook, frying Krabby Patties like how he always remembered. However, he just can't stop feeling that a part of his heart is missing, something fundamental.
Post-credit scene C: During Calli’s trip back to the underworld to visit her sensei, she sensed that something unusual that broke the balance of the life cycle and immortality happened. Calli called out the book of the list of immortals and began to read it. After turning a few pages, she saw a name that was now garbled and even had a few strokes crossed out. Under the name, there was a note: "Erased by Gawr Gura". Calli sighed and said: “Oh my gosh, Gura… What did you do again this time…?”
Results[]
Boomstick: That… was surprisingly emotional… But what?! SpongeBob lost?! I’m almost certain that he would win, but why did he lose?
Wiz: This matchup is extremely close, and I’m not joking or over-exaggerating, it’s almost impossible to decide a winner between them since both have shown advantages against each other. Aside from their advantages over their opponent, they almost canceled out every other ability each other had.
Boomstick: Speed, water manipulation, bubble sealing, teleportation, mind manipulation, non-corporal interaction, regeneration, reality warping, even plot manipulation, and so on. Even though their abilities to do them vary in degree, none of these factors are actually able to give them the edge they need to win.
Pop-up Note 1: Although SpongeBob’s bubble sealing is shown unbreakable, even by toon force users like Squidward, nevertheless, Gura has been stated to be able to break the seal of “the cell”, which can seal even the untouchable, which represents "concepts" in Hololive cosmology. So, it wouldn’t be surprising that she can break out of it.
Pop-up Note 2: Even though both can direct the plot in the direction they want, they are never shown to use this ability for battle purposes, and neither of them can remove the other on the narrative level to defeat the other either since they have never shown able to erase others from the narrative or resist getting erased on a narrative level.
Wiz: Well, let’s talk about SpongeBob’s advantages here first, his toon force is more creative than what Gura has, and his absurd luck can help him survive Gura’s attacks quite well. He also has more variety of weapons to choose from.
Pop-up Note: However, his luck doesn’t always help him in the way he wants, so his luck can’t be an automatic dodge and defense against Gura, not to mention that Gura can overcome this with reality manipulation or plot manipulation.
Boomstick: His ability to make what he remembers happen is really ridiculous, however, that wasn’t any different from Gura’s ability to grant her own wishes by reality manipulation, so SpongeBob can’t really do much with this. Not to mention that SpongeBob has only shown this ability once, which is on Squidward, whom he is really familiar with.
Pop-up Note: The proof of this statement comes from the fact that SpongeBob’s ability to create memories into reality only works on Squidward when SpongeBob still remembers him. After Squidward erases SpongeBob’s memories about him, SpongeBob never shows that ability again. So apparently, he couldn’t possibly know Gura well enough to activate this ability.
Wiz: SpongeBob also has the option to use the magic pencil or magic book on Gura, but unfortunately, Gura’s ability to resist and heal from other vtubers’ regeneration ignoring attacks means that she can possibly also ignore the pencil’s effect and grow back to normal, and her being able to survive Kronii’s (who is infinite-dimensional if you forget) existence erasure means the magic book also can’t remove her from reality.
Boomstick: SpongeBob also can’t defeat Gura by plot manipulation like how he got rid of the gorilla suit man, since vtubers are also shown to forcefully end the story and resist it before.
Wiz: On the other hand, Gura has more advantage over SpongeBob, she is apparently more skillful in fighting due to the fact that she defeated all Atlanteans and is one of the best combat fighters in Hololive. She also has the experience advantage of being over 9000 years old.
Boomstick: She also has a slight strength advantage, as she has immeasurable strength feats, while SpongeBob only got universal to multi-universal via the string.
Matsuri survived the entire world erased around her
Pop-up Note: Again, SpongeBob can’t remove her with the string, since vtubers like Gura can survive existence erasure from infinite-dimensional beings, and another proof of this is how Matsuri survived the world Sora created by the magic crayon getting erased. Let alone Spongebob needs a thread to do that in the first place.
Wiz: However, no matter what they want to do to finish each other off, they will need to overcome one huge factor - immortality. This was the hardest part for us because both characters seemed almost impossible to kill at first glance. Yes, SpongeBob does have a weakness of not being able to survive getting dehydrated, but that weakness is very inconsistent. Even if Gura was able to dehydrate him, whether or not it is fatal is actually questionable.
Boomstick: So, it’s time for us to look for shortcomings in their immortality that can actually give any of them the chance to finish each other off. Much to our, and probably also your surprise, Gura comes out the top for this one. Before you call this a bullshit, hear us out.
Wiz: Both can’t be killed by any physical damage and can even come back from existence erasure. However, there are things that Gura has that SpongeBob doesn’t that become the key to her victory, and one of them is the ability to destroy souls.
Pop-up Note: And Gura technically has better feats of resisting existence erasure, SpongeBob survived getting erased by Patrick with the string, which destroys a universe. But vtubers like Gura constantly survive getting erased by each other and even higher dimensional beings like Hololive council members and the Gods, which are infinite-dimensional and beyond.
Boomstick: You're probably thinking that there’s no way that SpongeBob has never shown the ability to come back from his soul getting destroyed, but the fact is, he really hasn't!
Wiz: According to our research, whenever SpongeBob became a ghost, he never had anyone try to destroy his soul before, because of him being too “wild”. Like how he drives the Flying Dutchman crazy only after 30 seconds of staying with him, stating it’s a fate worse than death, or the time a Scythian ghost said he can’t steal SpongeBob’s soul because his soul is too wild.
Boomstick: Yet, that is not a problem for Gura, since vtubers can stay in the void as long as they want. And if you remember, the void will drive anyone mad just staying in it. Sounds familiar?
Wiz: So that means Gura can destroy SpongeBob’s soul to kill him if she were able to extract it from SpongeBob’s body. However, that is not her only wincon. Her other wincon is conceptual erasure.
Nene was able to erase the concept of ever-changing season
Boomstick: Gura is totally able to do that, vtubers like Momosuzu Nene have erased the concept of the ever-changing season before. And vtubers being able to erase conceptual beings like the Hololive council proves this once more.
Wiz: Since SpongeBob has never faced conceptual erasure attacks before, we can’t assume that he can also survive that.
Boomstick: Now, there’s one thing that can possibly overthrow this assumption, and that is the narrator of SpongeBob once said: “As long as there are stars in the sky, SpongeBob will live on in our hearts and in our minds”. However, it's more likely that this line is just a gag the narrator makes to keep viewers watching the show, rather than SpongeBob's actual abilities.
