Description[]
Ganondorf vs. Blackheart is a "What If?" Episode of Death Battle. It stars The Legend of Zelda's Ganondorf against Marvel's Blackheart!
Prelude[]
Jolley: When Eve at the fruit from the knowledge of bad and good, she brought one thing into this world: EVIL.
Random: And like it or not. Evil was, is, and always will be around, and in the darkest of places.
Jolley: And in this case, the Darkest of People.
Random: Ganondorf, the Demon King and wielder of the Triforce of power.
Jolley: And Blackheart, The Prince of Darkness and Heir to Mephisto
Random: He's Jolley and I'm Random!
Jolley: And it's our Jobs to analyze their weapons, armor, & skill, to find out who would win: A Death Battle!
Ganondorf[]
Jolley: True and unlimited power finds itself to a select few worthy Individuals to hold. Others merely bypass this system of power coming to them... and take the power for themself!
Random: And this is the story of one man who took the bull of power by the testículos and went on to be the most powerful and evil entity that the peaceful land of Hyrule, ever saw.
Jolley: You see. In Hyrule lay a species of people that lived within the Gerudo desert, a species of Amazonian like warrior females who ruled their province. But every 100 years. There is a singular Male born along side the sisters, the one who is destined to become the champion of the Gerudo. But it was this century that birthed the future evil incarnate known as: Ganondorf
Random: “Once every hundred years, a special child is born unto my people. That child is destined to be the mighty champion of the Gerudo and the desert. But this child, its heart grew twisted with every passing year. This child became a man who hungered for power at any price.”
Jolley: But the story of Ganondorf goes farther back than that...
Random: You see, there was an ancient being of pure destruction named Demise. But when a Hero chosen by the Goddesses slayed Demise, he made a curse. Those with the spirit of the hero and the blood of the goddess would be eternally tormented by an embodiment of his hatred. That embodiment would take the form of the Gerudo male, the only one born in a century and therefore their designated king. Ganondorf was unaware of him originating from Demise, instead just seeking to spread his reign beyond the Gerudo Desert and across Hyrule. While he would succeed in this, the reemergence of the Hero of Time seven years later would potentially ruin his plans. Whether he succeeded or failed, this was only the first time the curse and the hero met, with many further incarnations of Link being tormented by the king of evil.
Jolley: Naturally, for having the Tri-force of power Ganondorf has shown to be incredibly strong. Easily overpowering every Link he has come across. But there are 2 feats of strength I specifically wanna go over. And they come From Majora's mask and Wind Waker.
Random: You remember that time when the big moon with a face came crashing down to earth? Of course you do, well during the events of Majora's mask, these beings known as the 4 giants were able to temporarily halt the Earth's destruction by holding the moon back with their sheer might. But Just by holding the Tri-Force of Power, Ganon should be stronger than these giants in terms of physical strength by definition.
Jolley: However, there is more we can go off from in terms of Ganon's sheer strength. One of his better feats comes from Wind Waker, where he was able to STOP the rotation of the earth and plunge it into an eternal night. One that the time changing Wind Waker itself couldn't undo until an item called the Naryu pearl was returned. If we consider the world in Legend of Zelda to be similar in size to our own world, Ganondorf would have to be stopping a 13 billion trillion ton earth moving 66,660 miles per hour. If we crunch the numbers a bit here, we can see Ganondorf was able to exert 642 Zerratons of force!
Random: While Ganon isn't exactly known for his speed... actually that's the whole reason he's bottom tier in smash. He's actually shown to be quite fast when he wants to be. He's very consistently shown to be Link's superior in speed throughout their many contests. (Link Himself is able to dodge the Lasers of a common enemy known as Beamos. We can tell these are real Lasers due to their burning of the surrounding area and the fact they rebound off reflective surfaces)
Jolley: Even Ganondorf himself has had a tussle or 2 where he has had to dodge beams of light. Such as his Boss Battle against Link in Wind Waker, halfway through the fight Ganondorf beings to dodge Light Arrows shot by Tetra (Zelda), without even looking!
Random: One of the most characterizing things about Ganondorf is his ability to simply not stay dead. He's been Impaled, Crushed, Burned Alive, Shot, Chomped, Fallen from Great heights, Chained, Slashed, Drowned, and just about everything in between...
Jolley: Rated E10+ for ages 10 and Up
Random: But going into more detail, he's Tanked hits from Link in just about every appearance he's been in. But we're gonna look at the time Link defeated the Gerudo Sorceress known as Twinrova. Who was stated to be able to destroy ALL of Hyrule, but to calculate where this can Put Ganondorf we need to see how Big Hyrule actually is.
Jolley: For those who do not want to read through the rigorous process: Hyrule is about 145,275 square kilometers, or 56,091 square miles. For reference, the country of Nepal is around 143,350 square km. If this is to be taken literally, Twinrova would be able to destroy a whole country. And Ganondorf is vastly superior to her!
Random: But the state of Ganondorf's Durability doesn't end there, there has been cases where his own power and magic have been used against him theoreically meaning that Ganon's durability should be close to his own Planet Level AP. This Makes Ganondorf not surprisingly extremely Hard to kill
Jolley: But now we get to the nitty gritty of Ganondorf.
Random: There are tons and tons and TONS of abilities that Ganondorf possesses, so to save time we'll just give the cliff notes.
Jolley: He can teleport great distances, Shoot Dark Blasts (That are good for a game of Tennis), Shoot Lightning, Manipulate Fire Levitate/Fly around the battle field, he can Summon Demons and Monsters to fight on his behalf, Create physical Illusions such as Phantom Ganon Telekinesis can restrict weaker foes, A Force Field that only Powerful Magic Users can Penetrate Can create objects at will (Usually a sword, which he has mastered using), He can spread a Disease that can kill beings even like the Great Deku tree after prolonged exposure.
Random: He can also sense beings who are invisible and prevent himself from his senses being altered. A lot of these are due to Ganondorf's magic, although some are due to his Gerudo physiology. There is an unclear line where the 2 overlap.
Jolley: And it should be finally stated that Ganondorf has had Thousands of years of scheming and combat experience to back up these incredible powers (that I only tipped the iceberg of) and while he IS insane, he is also incredibly smart and tactical about his battles and his usage of magic. But... There's always gotta be: Weaknesses
Random: Even the Demon King himself is not Invincible as there are a few things that can harm or kill him, as well as a few personal flaws that drag him down.
Jolley: Such as being incredibly arrogant against visibly weaker foes and rather underestimating those he think are below him... which is everyone in this case. But a more conventional way to end the fight would be: Holy Weapons.
Random: Things like the Master Sword and Light arrows can mortally Wound Ganondorf, and while as long as the curse of Demise haunts him he can't TRULY be killed. He can still be put out temporarily for the win. There's even been cases of Divine beings being able to temporarily restrain Ganondorf.
Jolley: But make no mistake. No chains, no matter how heavy or strong. Will falter before the might of the tri-force of Power.
Blackheart[]
Jolley: Evil, we're all familiar with it aren't we? (I mean last year has been nothing BUT evil)
Random: Well evil has been known to take many forms and shapes over its revolting existence. But usually the one we think of as the most evil is, The Devil. Or as he's more commonly referred to in the marvel universe: Mephisto
Jolley: Mephisto spent his free time torturing the lives of those within his realm, and tempting those in the mortal realm in exchange for their souls. Normal devil stuff. But soon, all this evil was built up into one single, physical incarnate. The "Son" of Mephsito. The Prince of Darkness... BLACKHEART
Random: Oh Jesus not that one
Jolley: While he's "technically" not the "son" of Mephsito, he's considered so due to him being the apprentice of the dark lord and heir to Mephisto's realm. Aka, Hell.
Random: As a regular Nemesis to the Ghost Rider, Blackheart has more or less shown to be Mr. Blaze's superior in strength, casually manhandling him even as the Rider, who himself has ripped down skyscrapers and tussled with the Hulk on occasion. He's even strong enough to Break Ghost Rider's ethereal Chains of hell. Which only other powerful beings like Silver Surfer or Dr. Strange have been able to shatter with pure magic.
Jolley: He's fought on par with beings like the Red Hulk, and was even able to cut through the Beast's healing factor, something even Vibranium has trouble doing! Only the strongest weapons like Wolverine's claws or Thor's hammer have been able to harm the Red Hulk like that.
Random: Blackheart has constantly shown to comparable to the Ghost Rider while he was aboard his motorcycle. A motorcycle which has outraced Thor's hammer in the past. A hammer that can Casually fly at around 3 times the speed of light and can definitely fly faster than that. So just for Blackheart to even Keep up with the rider on a regular basis means that he should be 3-5 times faster than the speed of light, at LEAST.
Jolley: And that's if we lowball here, Blackheart once Blitzed Jane Foster Thor, who should more or less be the same as the Original Thor or the Sentry in terms of speed. So 3-5 times is an Understatement
Random: Not to mention his reactions should be around the same. When he was just a newborn he was able catch up to Laser Dodgers like Daredevil, Wolverine, & Spider-Man. This along with his strength and durability grew overtime
Jolley: Being a souless incarnate of hell sure does have it's perks when it comes to being unkillable. And Blackheart certainly is that and more. He's taken hits from the aforementioned Red Hulk, No Sold Iron Man's offense. Even the strongest of the Earth's Weapons haven't yet hurt him.
Random: He's resistant to fire, survived being torn apart, being fried by a lightning bolt, being crushed only to regenerate seconds later, He got his clock cleaned by fucking THANOS and got back up without much damage. No sold getting sliced to bits by wolverine, and even shrugged off the legendary PENANCE STARE. Actually no. He was AMPED by the penance stare.
Jolley: This was due to the fact Blackheart had no soul for the Ghost Rider to burn in the first place. Leading his his demonic powers growing after such a devastating attack.
Random: Blackheart also possess a plethora of magical abilities in his own right. Ones that can affect your mind, your body, and even your soul. He can shapeshift, create portals to other dimensions, summon hellish minions, block out your senses, corrupt your mind, decay your physical body after prolonged exposure, and even duplicate himself. But even without all these powers, and the feats, and the buffs, and the hype he's... still not truly immortal
Jolley: If damaged enough, Blackheart must return to hell and regenerate his body. This processes can take from as little as a couple of days to over a year depending on the severity of the attack. He also shares a weakness to Holy Weapons. as they can Bypass his regeneration and possibly even kill him. Not only that but Blackheart's arrogance/lack of care often makes him underestimate his opponets in a fight, and will often monologue for much longer than needed in typical bad guy fashion.
Random: Also uh.. this, this should count as a weakness
Jolley: While Wes Bentley can't exactly portray blackheart as the badass he is, the Prince of Darkness is coming for the throne of the Demon
Interlude[]
Jolley: We've run through the data and calculated all the possibilities, and we've come to our conclusion
Random: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTTLLLLLE!!!.
The Fight![]
Pre-Battle[]
Undeniable Evil has awoken within the clam land of Hyrule once again. Darkness surged throughout one of the many castles that adorned the normally green and lush fields. But they were not green today, as dark clouds circled the sky the grass began to coil and bright beautiful flowers began to shrivel up… and Die. Something was happening.
Meanwhile inside the castle, chaos began to sputter as the demon king Ganondorf was there in search of his source of power: the Triforce of power. The glimmering triangle of pure wrath sat there, just levitating over the ground with an elegant glow about it. Ganondorf’s hand was inches away from taking his 1st step to dominating the land one more. Until…
POOF!
In a cloud of dark smoke, the Triforce vanished with a confused and frustrated look growing on Ganondorf’s face. Behind him, the ground began to crawl with an infestation of evil as the one true son of Mephistopheles rose from the depths of hell. Blackheart stood tall above Ganondorf, who himself was not short in the slightest. Ganon clenched his fist as the literal devil leaned over his shoulder
“Greetings there Ganondorf, the demise incarnate. My name is Blackheart, and I’m here to do us both a favor. You see I have had my problems dealing with a certain… demon, and I believe with our might together, we can not only solve my problems. But I can solve YOURS by dealing with that hero that gets in your way. All I need from you, is your loyalty and you can have this back.”
Blackheart presented the Triforce before the silent Ganondorf, who appeared to be taking the proposal into account here. Could he really trust such a foul creature to keep his promise? And why come now after many failed attempts? And most importantly, Who does he think he is demanding Loyalty from the Malevolently powerful Ganondorf?
Ganondorf quickly snatched the Triforce from the clutches of Blackheart, placing it on his forearm and delivering a sudden sucker punch.
WHAM!
This punch caught the demon heir by surprise, sending him flying back about a dozen feet into a large pillar which collapsed on impact on top of the dark lord. But this merely fazed Blackheart for just a second as he rose from the collapsed rubble.
“Fine then… I WILL JUST RIP THE POWER FROM YOUR SOUL”
Ganon only laughed at this remark as both entities of pure evil dashed straight towards each other.
Time almost came to a standstill as both met in a colossal punch that shook the entire castle with its impact. Neither stopped for a second afterwards as they began the fight by trading stiff punches with one another, but it was Blackheart who would make the first real move of the match. He dodged a quick Ganon jab and extended the claws on his hands to razor sharp blades, firing them at Ganondorf like projectiles. But Ganon crackled as he raised a defensive barrier that shot the quills right back at Blackheart, which cut him ever so slightly.
Ganon tried to follow up on this with even more strikes, but they were blocked by the stronger Blackheart, who sent Ganon flying back to his starting position with a powerful AOE attack.
The Son of Mephisto crossed his arms and taunted to Ganondorf:
“Seems we are back to square one arent we? Now do be a dear and start trying why don’t you? I don’t have forever.”
This only managed to piss Ganondorf off, he flew towards Blackheart once again and attempted a side kick, only for Blackheart to effortlessly catch the kick and throw Ganon to the castle floor below.
“I KNEW you were below me but at least commit to it! Ugh.. Fine, I guess I’ll just end this now”
Blackheart began his slow descent to the bottom floor but was caught off Guard by the teleporting Ganondorf who delivered a vicious uppercut that was powerful enough to lay Blackheart out on the same floor they started on. Finally Ganondorf had the upper hand as he levitated above the struggling Demon Spawn. An evil incantation left his mouth as several phantom Ganondorf's surrounded Blackheart in every direction.
The original blackheart suddenly appeared out of thin air with his hand wrapped around Ganondorf’s neck
“Peek-a-Boo"Ganondorf suddenly realized what trouble he was in, teleporting out the way of whatever fate Blackheart had in store for him. He drew his sword and attempted to slice Blackheart in half. But he wasn't fast enough as Blackheart moved out of the way, shouting:
“Impressive!”
Blackheart used his full strength to grab Ganondorf and pin him to the ground with a small crater forming upon the crash of Ganondorf’s body “KNEEL!”Ganondorf’s fist cocked back as Blackheart prepared to end Ganon once and for all. “I SAID KNE-”
BOOM!
Ganondorf stood there annoyed at this Creatures ability to not stay down, while Blackheart stood with what would be a smirk on his face had he possessed a mouth. “This… Is just pathetic ” He huffed between words “TIME TO END THIS!”
Blackheart fired a large blast at Ganondorf, who in turn fired one of his own. Both had stalemated each other once again. But with a glimmer of the Triforce, Ganon’s power began to overpower Blackheart. The beam grew closer to Blackheart at an alarming rate, growing bigger with every second “WHAT?! NO! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!”
The Screen became white as Blackheart was engulfed by the blast …
…
…
Ganondorf fell to a knee, madly laughing at his victory over the demon.
…
…
...
But the celebration was short lived, as during Ganon’s insane outburst. Blackheart began to rise once again from the depths of hell just as he had done before the battle started.
SHINK!
Ganondorf’s body began to twitch, the claws leaving his body with holes of blood draining from him. His body was raised into the air with the aid of Blackhearts magic. Dark portals opened with Blackheart’s army of Minions emerging and bowing before him.
“Denizens of Hell! I bring before you this treacherous imposter of evil. One who claims to be evil incarnate. But there can only be ONE! So I bring you… the CRUCIFICTION OF THE DEMON KING!!”
Blackheart spread his arms in a command for his minions to do away with Ganon. With no escape, Ganon struggled to no avail as the demons tore away at his mortal body
K.O![]
Blackheart closed his fist as all the demons, as well as Ganondorf, were destroyed.
With the only remnants being the Triforce of power falling to the ground.
Results[]
Jolley: This. Was a tricky one to decipher here, We're not gonna sugar coat it.
Random: Both Ganondorf & Blackheart had relatively similar powers, as well as being stupidly hard to kill with a ton of upside on both ends. But there's a method to our madness, you see. When it came to their powers Blackheart actually had MORE to offer than Ganondorf. And had the appropriate counters to Ganons more useful abilites
Jolley: For one, remember how Ganon was able to sense magic? Well Blackheart is able to block out heightened senses just like he did with Daredevil and Spider-Man This gives him more opportunities to deal damage because... He was faster
Random: Catching up to people like Thor and Fuckin Ghost Rider puts him MULTIPLE times over the speed of light, While Ganons light speed Arrow dodges (While Impressive) doesn't quite stack up to Blackheart.
Jolley: And to end it all, Blackheart was just overall harder to kill. Yes both couldn't really be hurt without the aid of Holy weapons. But Blackheart has just shown better and faster regenetive capabilities than Ganondorf has shown.
Random: I guess you can say Ganon just didn't have the Heart to win this.
Jolley: The winner is Blackheart
