Description[]
Amphibia VS The Legend of Zelda! Do not harm Polly Plantar and Princess Zelda when their robotic companions are around! They might act a bit goofy but that all disappears when they are angered and unleash the firepower needed to protect their unofficial big sisters from their evil robotic twins out for their blood. What would happen however if Frobo and Terrako took on each other in a battle of Frobot firepower and Guardian superiority?
Intro[]
Wiz: Robots and Artificial Intelligence has always been a sore subject in the scientific community. The important question that is often asked is if our creations will eventually turn on humanity and cause our own destruction. Pop culture has made this question even harder to answer with all the robot uprisings in media.
Boomstick: Todays mecha-mook combatants totally destroys this robophobic perspective however. They might look like the mechanical creatures that tried to take over the worlds they hail from but I can reassure you that they are completely different from Andrias robot frog army bent on multiversal conquest and Calamity Ganon’s mind-controlled Guardian robots.
Wiz: What caused todays robotic combatants to fight for good against their brethren was the kind acts of young girls who they would gladly sacrifice their lives for in a heartbeat if threatened.
Boomstick: Frobo, The Rogue Frobot That Befriended Polly Plantar and her family
Wiz: and Terrako, The Diminutive Guardian That Traveled Back In Time To Save Princess Zelda.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Frobo[]
Wiz: The land of Amphibia might look like a peaceful land inhabited by humanoid amphibian creatures and ruled by a benevolent wise king but appearances can be deceiving. It is true that Amphibia has been seemingly at peace for the last 1,000 years under the rule of the wise King Andrias even if said king dreamt of returning Amphibia to its “true glory” for most of this time.
Boomstick: There is no need to sugarcoat this Wiz. This land of frog’s true glory is basically being multiversal conquerors that caused genocide wherever they went and emptied the worlds they conquered of all resources Captain Planet style on a multiversal level. Not exactly a time period you want to travel back to if you could.
Wiz: Luckily for the worlds of the multiverse, this conquering came to a stop when the object used to travel between worlds was stolen. When the box eventually found its way back to Amphibia, Andrias resumed his family’s legacy and immediately reactivated the factories that had created their robotic legions of soldiers in the past for conquest. These robots were quickly armed for world takeovers and willing to do it with one exception; F0-R1.
Boomstick: Who is F0-R1 you ask? It’s basically a smaller frogbot version of the Iron Giant that accidentally came into being before Andy started his new campaign of conquest and befriended a frog family. Frobo, which is a slightly cooler name than F0-R1, as the Frobot is often called did not apricate the mad king and its dark colored brethren turning the land into a wasteland and attempting to kill its new friends so it took a stand with the heroes trying to end froglands cycle of conquest once and for all. This is all really dark for a Disney show of all things to show its audience don’t you think wiz.
Wiz: Considering that the show tackles themes of toxic friendship and generational expectations, I am not surprised. That description of Frobo is correct but when the robot is angered or its friends are in danger; it will not hesitate to use its advanced weapons without mercy.
Boomstick: These advanced weapons consist of Mr Fantastic stretchy arms powerful enough to lift a dinner into the clouds and restrain the much larger Andrias for a short moment, a function that allows the Frobot to transform into a metal sphere to mimic sonic and gain some extra speed, transform its hands into different type of tools like hoes and axes, and………… has a toaster in the back of his head? One of these things seems very out of place.
Wiz: That’s not the only weird feature of Frobo. It can also spit oil out of its mouth, produce fog, have its eyes used as a move projector, and be opened up to be used as a grill for cooking. It’s not exactly what I would have expected from something created to conquer worlds but all these weird functions do have some use in everyday life I suppose.
Boomstick: The remaining features of the frogbot like the lasers beams it can release from its mechanical eyeballs that is hot enough to melt through several layers of metal at once and its sweet missile launcher kind of makes all those weird functions tolerable in the long run especially when you consider its strength.
Wiz: You forgot to mention that Frobo can get 360 vision by spinning its head around and fly using its thrusters but the statement about the robots strength is correct. Its lifting strength is impressive as Frobo can lift open a heavy rock door and carry the giant bird Joe Sparrow ridden by Anne, Sasha, Marcy, and the Plantar Family all at the same time. Creating large craters in the ground with its fists and causing huge damage to the town of Wartwood with a shockwave created by landing heavily on top of the town fountain are also decent strength feats. Its durability on the other hand…..
Boomstick:….kind of stinks in comparison. A normal Frobot of Andrias robot army can be taken down with a good swing of the sword and more embarrassingly, arrows and slingshots. Frobo seems a little more durable than its supposed upgraded brethren as it could survive being blasted by a sword beam from Andrias lightsaber rip-off but that durability still was not enough to prevent it from being turned to scraps with a single punch from said king.
Wiz: That apparent death did not last long as Polly Plantar managed to reactivate Frobo and build it a new improved body using parts found in a school’s robotics lab. Speaking of Polly, her and Frobos friendship is an interesting one.
Boomstick: Friendship is the wrong world Wiz. Siblinghood is the more correct term to describe the relationship between the two with the baby Polly being the “older” sister and Frobo being the “younger” brother which is ironic seeing as the bot is a bit larger than your regular fully-grown human. Makes sense though when you consider its baby See baby Do personality.
Wiz: Frobo does indeed have the personality of a baby seeing as it rarely speaks and has shown limited intelligence when not given orders from its older sister and the rest of the Plantar family. Polly was correct in thinking of it as a large baby when they first meet each other. She might be a baby herself but since she is surprisingly efficient in robotics; I wouldn’t mind teaching her a thing or two when she is a bit more grown up.
Boomstick: No objection from me if that ever happens as the frog girl could make an awesome killer robot of my own just like how she upgraded her robotic brother into a more fabulous version of itself with even more weapons of mass destruction.
Wiz: Getting several more missile launchers installed into it along with 2 laser miniguns popping out of its chest and its hands being able to transform into laser cannons for ranged combat or extra thrusters for increased flight speed is a very good upgrade that proves Polly managed to make Frobo more advanced than the regular Frobot units which makes up the majority of Andrias army. That a group of these Frobots was instantly destroyed upon encountering Frobo makes this rather clear.
Boomstick: It even comes equipped with a baby carrier for Polly to ride in armed with a gatling gun for her to use along with a soda dispenser. I love how this kid thinks even if I would change the soda to beer instead.
Wiz: All these upgrades came very much in handy when confronting the skyscraper sized Herons that killed Polly’s parents in the past. These birds can tear through tanks with their beaks, flap their wings so hard that the wind produced redirected the missiles heading towards them back to their sender, and survive a punch from Andrias Dyoplosaurus armor that managed to send Anne Boonchuys calamity form flying through a skyscraper tilting it in the process. Frobo is not strong enough to defeat these birds but it was able to cause them to stumble backwards with powerful laser blast to the face at close range.
Boomstick: Overpowered waterfowls much? The last couple of important new abilities that Frobo 2.0 in its upgraded form received from its little sister include having a grappling hook installed in its right shoulder along with a scanner in its eyes for detecting structural weaknesses. Frogbot here is even so advanced now that it can freaking fly into space from ground level in under a minute and survive the vacuum of space.
Wiz: Creating such a flight system in a mere school’s robotics lab makes me even more want Polly as an assistant in the future. It should be noted though that the regular Frobot units can do something very similar with their own thrusters so this is not unique to just Frobo.
Boomstick: Does this mean Frobo has moon level pushing strength since the large group of Frobots that traveled into space assisted the calamity trios super Saiyan-like super forms in pushing the falling moon back slightly to prevent a Mayoras Mask incident? It seems like bit of a stretch but you never know with these things.
Wiz: The upgraded Frobo is admittedly much stronger than its previous form seeing as it can carry the giant Andrias without much problem. It is still leagues bellow moon level though. It was only due to the combined effort of an army of Frobots and the Calamity trio working in synch that the moon was pushed back slightly and this was only a temporary victory at best as the giant thrusters installed on the moon were activated not long after resuming the moons decent to the planet.
Boomstick: That’s a pity but it’s not surprising. Frobo is an impressive machine that I wouldn’t mind having as an awesome robotic brother but it being moon level in terms of strength after being upgraded in a school’s robotics lab of all things would have made me seriously question the education system for allowing students to play around with stuff like this.
Wiz: Regardless of the amount of destruction the rouge Frobot can cause, that’s not what’s important in the Plantars mind. Frobo being an unofficial member of the family is more than enough for Polly and her family.
Polly: You look like one of those things from the fighting game on Anne's phone. What was it called? A Robo? Except you're more like a frog. I will call you Frobo.
Frobo does a little dance
Polly: I know, I know. I'm a genius.
Terrako[]
Wiz: When it comes to the land of Hyrule, time travel is not a foreign concept. A lot of versions of the legendary hero Link has experienced time travel misadventures which has often resulted in the legend of Zelda timeline being split into many alternative timelines.
Boomstick: I am going to stop you there Wiz. I refuse to analyze the confusing timeline shenanigans of Hyrule since I am not drunk enough to get through it all right now. Let’s please only focus on the Breath of the Wild timeline right now since that is the only one relevant to today’s Hyrule combatant. It is the one that the small egg-shaped guardian Terrako hails from after all.
Wiz: That’s fair even if I think trying to analyze Hyrulian time travel would be a worthy endeavor. The fact that a young Zelda along with her mother was able to construct a small robot that unknowingly to them could time travel using ancient technology they barely understood is equally interesting, however.
Boomstick: This turned out to be a lucky break that all of Hyrule sorely needed as Calamity Ganon reappeared and jumpstarted the event of Breath of the Wild. Thanks to the little robot traveling back in time and creating an alternative timeline where the calamity pigman was defeated, one timeline version of Hyrule dodged a world ending bullet even with the essence of the future Ganon having followed the egg guardian back in time to make sure that the present version revived itself as planned. I already have a massive migraine and this is not even the last of the timey whimey stuff we have yet to mention.
Wiz: Even without its time travel functionality, Terrako is a beast in battle. Its small size that almost reaches the waist of a normal human might make one question this but the technologically advanced weapons it possesses makes up for its small size. Armed with an Ancient Axe and Ancient Sword, this guardian can mow down groups of Ganon’s goons armed with swords and bows like they are nothing.
Boomstick: Using these weapons to cleave enemies to shreds with either a powerful spin attack by spinning its upper half around or leaping upside-down and spinning its legs around like helicopter to create a deadly vortex is an extremely efficient strategy of Terrako. If the egg guardian gets a bit too dizzy with all this spinning around, the little guy can still use its close quarters weapons normally or spit out Ancient Spears at his unlucky opponents from afar.
Wiz: The ancient weapons are devices I would love to study but my favorite ability of Terrako is its ability to use Sheikah runes. This is possible due to it being able to resonate with the Sheikah technology because of it being a Guardian robot. The 4 runes which Terrako can use and make sure that wielders of the Sheikah Slate can also use are Cryonis, Stasis, Remote Bomb, and Magnesis. Remote Bomb is pretty self-explanatory and the least interesting of the runes in my opinion.
Boomstick: Blowing stuff up is always a good thing Wiz. It’s certainly cooler that Cryonis which traps the opponents in a large ice cage.
Wiz: Magnesis, which attracts everything metal in the nearby area into a huge pile hovering in the air, and Stasis, which completely freezes its target in place for a couple of seconds, might not have as much firepower as a bomb but they definitely have more uses in battle than simply causing large explosions.
Boomstick: You’ve got a point. I still prefer the bombs though and more specifically the minibots laser of death which can either be a constant stream of deadly homing laser shots thanks its guardian homing aim functionality or a wave-motion beam of death with some annoying charging required for the cool death beam.
Wiz: The guardian laser on its own is impressive but its capabilities improve when used in tandem with the small balls of energy that Terrako can generate around itself to hurl at incoming enemies. The laser can be tripled when generating two energy balls on either side of the guardian that mimics and releases a laser whenever Terrako sends one out. Another combination technique of includes the robot summoning a large ball of energy that explodes into several smaller ones when hit by a charged laser shot.
Boomstick: Lastly in terms of abilities but not certainly any less shocking than the rest is Terrakos function to emit electrical energy around itself for zapping flies and annoying Bokoblins. The fact that the Princess of Hyrule created this adorable badass machine when she was just a kid says a lot of the girl’s intelligence. Too bad she does not actually remember the egg guardian though
Wiz: That’s because Zelda’s father the King saw Terrako as a distraction that took away precious time that could instead be used by Zelda to unlock her powers necessary for sealing the Calamity when the prophesized time arrives. This happened so long ago that when Terrako traveled back in time shortly before Ganon’s resurrection, Zelda no longer remembered the small robot that was her closest companion as a child.
Boomstick: Kind of a dick move by the king as the little guy comforted the girl when her mother passed away with a lullaby and tried to cheer her up when she was feeling depressed. Since the guardian fully support the princess despite knowing she had forgotten all about their time together once it traveled back in time, the King really lost his chance of ever getting the best dad ever award.
Wiz: Terrako is indeed fiercely loyal to Zelda and considers itself her knight. It is so loyal that it once spoke up against the king with the whistles and beeps that makes up its speech that most do not understand.
Boomstick: Speaking up against the king eh? This little robot has some mayor spunk and sass within it. Link, the freaking hero of Hyrule, got a stern taking to from the minibot when he knocked Terrako out of the way and stealing its thunder when the bot jumped in front of a couple of Kunai heading for Zelda.
Wiz: With speed sufficient for avoiding lasers and enough control of time travel to drag people from the original Breath of the Wild timeline to the alternate one to help out Zelda, it’s no wonder Terrako turned out to be a big help in the battles against Calamity Ganon and his forces.
Boomstick: Lets please not mention any more time travel nonsense or my head is going to explode. Let’s instead talk about that this little weak looking egg-shaped robot could take on Calamity Ganon and freaking win!
Wiz: To be more accurate, Terrako defeated this timelines version of itself that had been possessed by the Ganon of the future AKA Harbinger Ganon. The Guardian actually beat this powerful enemy in their first confrontation but was then quickly knocked offline and presumed dead when the Harbinger transformed into its second form; Mutated Ganon.
Boomstick: I said no more time shenanigans! Ganon is still Ganon though in whatever form he appears in. The guy is literally one of the most overpowered villains in Zelda history and has almost come out on top plenty of times due to his Triforce of power AKA the essence of a god who helped create the land of Hyrule. Even when being backslapped into offline mode a second time by Mutated Ganon in their second official fight, it still came out on top due to being brought back online thanks to Link and the other heroes of Hyrule and overpowering the calamity version of itself in an epic Dragon Ball z beam struggle.
Wiz: The sheer impressiveness of Terrako does not stop here however. It fought Link when it was corrupted by Ganon into attacking the heroes and while it was heavily damaged and presumed dead yet again; it still got back on its feet not long after and……
Boomstick: …….went full kamikaze mode and exploded right in the fully reincarnated Gannon’s face weakening him severely. Now this is a robot companion I would not mind having on my side. Built me a sassy egg-shaped robot right now Wiz.
Wiz: It would be an interesting project but since we lack the technology, I wouldn’t be able to make one of the same caliber as Terrako unlike Robbie and Purah who had the means to rebuild the guardian after its self-destruction and also make it more powerful than it was originally.
Boomstick: That’s disappointing. I really want a killer robot of my own. At least Zelda reclaimed her memories of her old robotic pal after everything Terrako went through so the robot definitely got its very deserving ending for all the time travel shenanigans it had to get through.
Wiz: Time travel might cause a lot of paradoxes and continuity errors but since Terrako managed to reunite with the person it cared most about and saved her homeland from destruction thanks to its actions; the guardian that traveled through time indeed got its happy ending.
Zelda: How can I……If I am unable to awaken my inner power….
Terrako plays Zelda’s Lullaby to the princess’s surprise.
Intermission[]
Wiz: All right, the combatants are set, it's time to end this debate once and for all!
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
Death Battle![]
Hyrule Castle:
Opening portals that allow for passage throughout space and time have never ended well in the long run.
A couple examples of the terrible things that could occur when one messes with the space time continuum is accidentally allowing an ancient evil to travel back in time to secure its future or an ancient rase of amphibious creature to try and conquer the entire multiverse.
What happens however when a portal meant for traveling into the past is created at the exact time as a dimensional portal is generated worlds away? The result of two different kinds of portals opening up at the same time looks very much like what happened inside Hyrule Castle a couple of minutes ago.
What had once been an elegant throne room was now in shambles. The windows had been crushed into a million pieces, the marble floor had cracked in multiple places, and the throne was completely torn to shreds. Laying on the floor throughout the throne room was multiple people currently unconscious and unmoving.
In the middle of the room was a large glowing portal of immeasurable size. On the right side of the portal lay a blond girl dressed in royal clothing and a boy dressed in blue while a humanoid purple frog lay on the left side. All 3 were unconscious and unaware of the battle that was about to take place because of their unconscious state.
The only two creatures that were still conscious were not of flesh and blood. They instead were made of ancient mechanical technology.
Frobo quickly scanned the area around it as it exited the portal. The attempt to open a portal to Annes world had ended in failure based on what it was seeing. The poral had seemed to work at first but due to that unexpected power surge that came out of nowhere; the world they had connected to had not been their intended destination.
Polly had jumped into the portal not caring about the danger with Frobo following in her footsteps not long after. The thing that caught the Frobots attention immediately as its gaze traveled across the ruined throne room was an unconscious Polly being poked by a small egg-shaped robot. Frobos eyes turned red as this happen and quickly charged forward to smash its “older” sister’s attacker.
Terrako was too busy with analyzing the purple creature in front of it to notice the threat approaching the guardian from behind. The time portal that Zelda has required to investigate the past malfunctioning had been unexpected. It spitting out a weird frog creature before generating a shockwave which knocked everyone unconscious had also not been according to plan.
Having been the only one not knocked out cold, the little guardian had decided to take the initiative and look over the new arrival. This had turned out to be a big mistake as Terrako finally noticed the sound of mechanical feet approaching it from behind.
Frobos optics released a deadly laser as Terrako turned around and activated its guardian laser in response. The 2 powerful beams of death collided in midair signaling the beginning of the fight between these mechanical protectors.
FIGHT!
The clash of deadly lasers did not last long as Terrako proved to possess the more powerful laser of the two. The guardian laser overpowered Frobos laser to the point that that the Frobot would have ended up with a gaping hole in its mechanical stomach if it had not activated its thrusters in time and flew into the air to avoid this fate.
A volley of laser shot homed in on the Frobot flying in the air courtesy of Terrako. All of them missed thanks to Frobo dodging some of them at the last second and intercepting the remaining lasers shots with its own laser. To avoid being targeted by another group of laser shots, a large amount of smoke came pouring out of Frobos body. It did not take long for the entire throne room to be encased in heavy amount of smoke hiding the Frobot from Terrakos sight.
This plan amounted to nothing unfortunately as the little guardians homing aim functionality allowed it to easily lock its sight upon the Frobot hiding in the fog. Having generated two balls of energy around itself as it charged up a powerful laser, the next attack that traveled towards Frobo was in tripled in power and ferocity.
The sheer force behind the 3 deadly guardian lasers being unleashed at the same time caused Terrako to almost lose its balance. The lasers pulverized the throne room wall in front of the guardian and most of the area behind it into nothingness. Fog slowly started to exit the room through the giant hole courtesy of the lasers allowing the guardian to set its sight upon its robotic opponent again.
Frobo was still hovering in the air with its thrusters having once again avoided being obliterated by a guardian laser. Its left robotic arm being gone however made it evident that avoiding this laser had not gone as smoothly as before. Frobo was far from finished even with one of its arms missing however.
Frobo: POLLY. I. WILL. SAVE. YOU.
Several missile launchers exited out of the Frobots robotic backside along with 2 laser miniguns popping out of its chest as Frobos red robotic eyes set its sights upon Terrako. A barrage of lasers and missiles not soon afterwards rained down upon the remains of the throne room.
Miraculously none of the unconscious people were hit by the rain of destruction due to Frobos accurate precision. Terrako had no such luck however as the small guardian had to jump backwards to avoid being blasted by volley of missiles heading towards it. This was a serious mistake on the guardian’s part as it was now stuck in one of the corners in the room with nowhere to run and another barrage of missiles about to catch up with it.
Missiles however are nothing compared to Calamity Ganon so Terrako unleashed its Ancient Axe and Ancient Sword from where they were located inside of the guardian and rushed the incoming missiles. With a mighty spin attack, all the incoming missiles were sliced in two. The explosions caused by this disoriented the small guardian a bit but it did not stop its charge forward.
With a mighty jump, the small guardian armed with ancient weapons ascended high into the air towards Frobo throwing a couple Ancient Spears at the Frobot for good measure. In response, the frog shaped robot transformed itself into a metal sphere after easily dodging the spears. The weight of Frobos falling body colliding with the ascending Terrako caused the two to crash into the ground so hard the resulting shockwave caused the entire castle to shake somewhat.
Being crushed by Frobos enormous weight did not keep Terrako down for long as it pushed the Frobot off it before going in for a counterattack. Frobo uncurled itself to normal and responded in turn by transforming its remaining hand into an axe.
Spark flew into every direction as Terrakos Ancient Sword collided with Frobos axe. After just one clash however, smoke started to come out the Frobots remaining arm due to the sheer force behind the ancient sword. Even with its limited intelligence, Frobo knew that initiating another clash with their weapons was a bad idea.
The remaining arm started to change shape as it transformed from an axe into a laser cannon before unleashing a laser blast towards the small guardian at close range. Terrako tried to send out a laser of its own but was unable due to its opponent spitting oil right in its only eye catching the guardian off guard for a second. That was enough time however for the laser to blast the guardian right through several stone walls and out into the castle courtyard.
Frobo was about follow its opponent and send out another laser when the frog shaped robot noticed something peculiar laying near its robotic feet. It was one the little guardians’ remote bombs and before the robot could react; it exploded enveloping Frobo almost immediately in fire and destruction.
Once again due to the sheer speed in its flight thrusters, the Frobot avoided being completely destroyed losing only one of its robotic legs in the process. As it flew through the holes leading to the castle courtyard, it did not realize that it was flying straight into a trap until an ice cage suddenly fell down from the sky.
The ice construct trapped its target immediately and gave Terrako, who had positioned itself on a terrace just above the hole, the chance to send a large array of Ancient Spears raining down upon the trapped Frobot. While deadly optic lasers courtesy of Frobo managed to melt the top of the cage and the various spears heading its way, the small guardians little sneak attack was not over yet if its opponent did as Terrako had predicted it would do next.
Missiles exiting the top of the ice cage proved Terrakos prediction correct so it activated its Magnesis Sheikah rune. The missiles stopped moving at once as the rune was activated. Frobo was about to join them hovering helplessly in the air as the magnetism of the rune caused the Frobot to be dragged through the top of the cage and into the air on a collision course with its own missiles.
Right as the frog shaped robot was about to collide with its own weapons, it did something that took Terrako by surprise. Its remaining arm stretched itself to an impossible length and grabbed the guardian from where it was stationed. The guardian had no chance to react to this new development due to the arm reeling backwards towards its owner the second it grabbed Terrako. Soon enough, both guardian and Frobot were in the blast radius of the missiles as Frobo crashed headfirst into them.
Blue sky transformed into a reddish hellscape as the explosion enveloped the air above the castle courtyard. Out of the fiery sky eventually fell both of the robots resulting in them crashing down to earth in separate corners of the courtyard.
Frobos entire mechanical body was glitching with sparks appearing everywhere as Terrako got up on its feet. While something similar was happening to the guardian, its body was nowhere close to releasing the same amount of sparks as its opponent.
Regardless of how much their internal mechanical contraptions was glitching up, both of the ancient robots charged up their weapons for yet another clash of robotic might.
A second ice cage appeared around Frobo but this time it was ready as the cage was melted into nothingness with the Frobots optic lasers almost immediately. Transforming into its ball form allowed the frog shaped robot to dodge incoming Ancient Spears as it headed for Terrako who in response charged forwards with its Ancient Axe raised.
The axe missed its target due to Frobos metallic ball form avoiding it with ease before running over Terrako as if the guardian was a small insect smashed by a car. This event repeated quite a few times as Terrako tried to catch the Frobot off guard with its arsenal of weapons only to miss and be run over again and again in turn. This did not last long however as Terrako activated yet another Sheikah rune.
Using the Stasis rune finally put an stop to the ball form of Frobos rampage across the courtyard after a couple of unfortunate minutes for Terrako. The little guardian did not manage to get its revenge immediately by cutting its opponent in half due to Frobo transforming back into its regular form in an attempt to weaken the stasis holding it. The plan worked giving the frog shaped robot a perfect chance to unleash a counterattack.
Before Terako could react, Frobos stretchy arm extended and slammed the guardian so hard into the nearest castle wall that large cracks were created. The guardian fell limply into a heap on the ground not long after.
Question marks appeared in Frobos optics as the Frobot observed its fallen enemy from afar. It was no longer moving so the threat to Polly had finally been vanquished in its robotic mind. With this conclusion in mind, Frobo prepared to recall its stretchy arm back into its original position and return to Polly. That’s when it noticed something was terribly wrong.
The arm was not reeling backwards. It was completely still as if it had been hit by an EMP. In fact, its entire body was refusing to do as commanded as if the Stasis rune was still in effect somehow. The cause became apparent as Frobo noticed something glowing where Terrako was laying limply on the ground.
Looking back at the Frobot was a small guardian that had fully charged up its laser ready to unleash an wave-motion beam of death alongside two energy spheres about to do the same. Zapping its opponent with electricity as the punch from the stretchy arm connected with the guardian’s body had been a clever move on Terrakos part.
As the triple fully charged guardian lasers of death was about to be unleashed, Frobo managed to charge up its own optic lasers at the last second to counter the incoming laser. The final stretch of the battle had commenced and neither side was willing to give up without a fight.
Both lasers were unleashed at the same time and the result of them once again clashing destroying much of the courtyard in the process was……
Frobo: POLLY………
Uttering a couple of last words was all that Frobo managed to do as its lasers was overpowered and enveloped in a blinding deadly light.
Once the laser dissipated, the only thing that was left of Frobo was his dismembered head. The little guardian had finally triumphed over the upgraded Frobot.
KO!
The feeling of victory over the robotic intruder did not last long as Hyrule Castle suddenly started to shake uncontrollably. Terrako completely forgot about its opponent for a moment and observed as the entire castle started to fall apart. It seemed like the battle had caused great damage to the infrastructure keeping the castle together. Sensing that Zelda and her friends were in trouble, the guardian was about to run forward into the collapsing castle only to stop in its tracks when it heard something from behind.
Frobo: …….SAVE……POLLY…….
If Terrako had been able to show emotion, it would have shown itself very surprised to see the dismembered head of Frobo talking and using its projector eyes to show a scan of the castle and all the structural cracks that needed to be reinforced to prevent it from collapsing into rubble. The guardian observed the projection being shown to it with interest before approaching the downed Frobot. Frobos head simply looked up at the approach guardian with sad eyes expecting the worst
Looking closely down on Frobo and analyzing its actions during the fight, Terrako came to a realization it really should have made sooner. It and the dismembered head in front of it was similar in many ways. The opponent’s relationship to that humanoid purple frog was very similar to the guardian’s friendship with Zelda. If Terrako had not been so caught up with the battle, it would have realized this sooner.
Question marks appeared once again in Frobos optics as the guardian lifted up its dismembered head and placed it where it would not be in danger of being crushed by falling debris. The question marks disappeared and was replaced with a happy smile as Frobo realized what was happening. Terrako responded to this with a happy beeping sound before running of to save the people precious to them both.
What started as a fight to protect their unofficial big sisters had in the end transformed into something else entirely.
- Frobos dismembered head is hugged fiercely by a now awake Polly.
- Zelda watches the scene of Polly and Frobo reuniting with a smile on her face as Terrako stands beside her playing Zelda’s Lullaby.
Results[]
Boomstick: That was a surprisingly sweet ending for a rock and sock em robot themed battle of destruction. It’s so sweet that I feel like I could puke at any second now.
Wiz: it’s not surprising seeing as the two are rather gentle creatures at heart when not in fight mode. Of these robotic little brothers however, there could only be one superior built robot and that in the end turned out to be Terrako.
Boomstick: Seeing as this little egg-shaped bot built by a child version of Zelda can go a couple of rounds with Hyrules greatest like Link and Ganon, it is kind of obvious in hindsight that Terrako would both be able to tank anything the frog bot threw at it and possess enough firepower to scrap Frob in no time at all. Taking punches from the monstrous pig man and even seriously harming or defeating him on occasion far surpasses lifting a restaurant into the clouds and slightly burning a couple Godzilla sized birds. A regular Frobot can be easily turned to garbage with swords and arrows so even with upgrades; Frobo literally did not have the mighty robotic might to even scratch the time traveling robot while it could squash the frog whenever it wanted.
Wiz: Strength and durability is indeed the areas where Terrako excels but don’t forget Boomstick that Frobo excelled in a certain area as well that made this a very difficult battle for the Hyrulian guardian. That area is speed as being able to fly into space from ground level in under a minute surpasses any of Terrakos speed feats. The combination of speed and flight made it extremely difficult for the guardian to deal a killing blow to the Frobot.
Boomstick: Too bad though that Zelda’s robotic pal had the perfect method to render that speed null and void with Stasis and Magnesis to freeze Frobs in place. In fact, a lot Terrakos arsenal is superiors to the frogbots bag of tricks. The giant laser beam of death and ancient weapons makes Frobs transforming hands, missiles, and own laser kind of obsolete in the long run for example.
Wiz: There is also the fact that Frobo has a lot of functions not fit for battle. While some do have the capability to be useful in certain situations like fog creation, emitting electrical energy to zap foes seems more useful in a fight than being used as a microwave or grill. Using their arsenals in the smartest way possible transitions well into the biggest reason for why Terrako won this battle.
Boomstick: I wouldn’t call intelligence the biggest reason Wiz. Having far superior firepower is much cooler in my opinion. Intelligence definitely did play a large role though in this battle seeing as the egg-bot is smart enough to realize when Zelda is in need of some counseling, brave enough to stand up to the freaking king of Hyrule, and make its own decisions while the Frobot is a big robotic baby in comparison.
Wiz: That is not a nice way of describing someone even if it is accurate. Even with its speed advantage and flight, Frobos low intelligence made it evident that Terrakos superior strength, durability, and arsenal would triumph in the end. The rouge Frobot of Amphibia put up a good fight but it was not enough to defeat Hyrules time traveling guardian robot.
Boomstick: This ribbiting battle ended with Frobo croaking his last non-existent breath due to the guardian’s link to the past.
Wiz: The Winner is Terrako.
