Prelude[]
Boomstick: Ever had one of those really realistic nightmares? Well, there's a prevailing theory that within the psyche of man, there is an evil demon ready to suck out your soul in the dead of the night.
Wiz: Or its just a combination of restlessness, stress, and a high caffeine intake.
Boomstick: Wiz, why do you have to make everything boring?
Wiz: Regardless of what Boomstick defines as boring, there are indeed entities that inhabit the deepest, darkest parts of the mind.
Boomstick: Like Freddy Krueger. Springwoods Master of Nightmares.
Wiz: And The Undertaker. The Demon of Death Valley.
Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick! And today, we’re taking these immortal souls stealers and putting their skills to the test in this unholy episode of Death Battle.
Freddy Krueger[]
Boomstick: Sometimes after a long night of drinking away my depression, all I want is to kick back, watch some Arrested Development, and take a long 14 hour nap.
Wiz: Well aside from waking up feeling even worse than you did before, if you live in the town of Springwood Ohio, there is something much worse than just a hangover. A being of pure evil and a restless desire to feed on the souls of dreaming teens.
Boomstick: Kinda just sounds like my ex.
Wiz: Freddy Krueger is the Master of Nightmares and has haunted the small township for years on end. But before he became a vicious, supernatural killer, he was just a man named Frederick Charles Krueger.
Boomstick: Ya, you know you’re in for a bad childhood when you’re born to a nun working in a mental ward, who also got raped by 100 inmates. Geesh. And I thought having one mental dad was enough.
Wiz: Well being transferred to live with another terrible father will certainly leave some slight mental scarring. So much so that he eventually killed his foster dad and set upon gaining a new purpose in life. That purpose; killing innocent children.
Boomstick: The Springwood Slasher they called him, at least until they murdered him. By they I mean the parents of the kids he’d killed, who took the law into their own hands like real americans. Normally being left to burn to death would be the end of story, not the beginning.
Wiz: After finding himself in Hell, Freddy was approached by…(flips script) Dream Demons?
Boomstick: Like that sleep paralysis demon that keeps stealing my beer?
Wiz: No, these Demons are even worse. They offered Freddy a deal he couldn’t refuse: Live as a nigh unkillable spirit, all while spreading fear and death throughout the town of Springwood.
Boomstick: And oh boy, did he take it. Freddy's went from just slashing kids with his trademark finger gloves, fucking awesome weapon by the way, to literally invading your dreams. And he can manipulate any dream to match whatever he wants. If he wants a hot tub, he's got a hot tub. If wants to BECOME the hot tub, he could do that too.
Wiz: If he manages to hurt or kill someone in their dreams, it’ll carry over to the actual body….for the most part. (cough) freddyvsjason. Sorry, bad cough…. But more to the point. Freddy is at his best in the dream realm.
Boomstick: He can shapeshift into monstrous creatures, summon pretty much anything he wants, and alter the dream realm to his liking. His favorite is usually a massive boiler room. And he’s also invincible… to an extent.
Wiz: He can be hurt in the dreamworld, but with his incredible regeneration abilities, good luck getting anything past some light bruising. And with all the power of his twisted imagination, it’s easy to see why so many people have come to fear him.
Boomstick: But if that wasn’t enough, then allow me to present to you the most unholy of unholy scriptures. The Necronomicon Ex Mortis. Awwww, just look at that magnificent cover art.
Wiz: Though not originally Freddys, it did come into his possession during the Nightmare Warriors arc, where he, to put it bluntly, gained the powers of a god. This includes all his normal powers, as well as maxing his reality warping abilities, summoning armies of deadites, and break through the very fabric of space and time.
Feats:
- Has killed countless amounts of people in their sleep.
- Has come back from the dead too many times to count.
- Later came back to kill the children of the parents who killed him
- Revived Jason Voorhees/Fought Jason to a draw
- Survived an explosion that destroyed an entire warehouse.
- Fought both Jason Voorhees and Ash Williams
- Became a god after absorbing the Necronomicon.
Faults:
- Usually loses to inexperienced teenagers.
- Supernatural abilities are limited in the real world.
- The Necronomicon can/has left him before.
Boomstick: Even without the book of the dead, he fought Jason Voorhees to a tie, and nearly killed Ash Williams, the handsome son of a gun. Along with the many, many, many convoluted ways he’s come back from the dead. Which he really wouldn’t have to use if he wasn’t always getting punked by teenagers.
Wiz: To his credit, much of Freddys defeats can come down to dumb luck. But even at his most powerful, it is possible to escape the dream world. Usually by some combination of figuring out you’re in a dream and conquering your fears. Also, the Necronomicon isn’t loyal to Freddy and can just up and leave him if it desires.
Boomstick: He also has a nasty habit of letting his guard down a little too much, which usually results in him somehow being banished. Until the next movie.
Wiz: You can’t say he isn’t committed.
The Undertaker[]
Wiz: Stygian. One of the many layers of Hell. A place where only the worst of the worst, the most violent and vicious are condemned to an eternity of suffering.
Boomstick: Nice opening monologue Wiz, but what does that have to do with our guy here?
Wiz: In short. Everything. Before he became the most famous wrestler of all time, The Undertaker was the warden of Stygian. Placing him in charge of torturing all the damned souls, which he did so for multiple millennia.
Boomstick: Wait a minute. You’re telling the guy who dresses up as an emo overlord is actually a ruler of Hell? Thats fucking awesome! Hey, you think I’m secretly the ruler of alcoholica?
Wiz: Alcohol-what?
Boomstick: Alcoholica! Land of the beer, home of the whiskey…. Dreams aside, Taker found himself being reincarnated as a demon baby in death valley after fighting the dark druid, The Embalmer.
Wiz: Being a demonic child in a funeral home, he did what he’d always done best, being a badass and… killing his mortal family in a fire? Well, ok then.
Boomstick: Long story short, Taker was found by the Embalmer, tortured, saved by Paul Bearer, reunited with his half brother Kane, defeated The Embalmer and regained his place as the ruler of Stygian…..Wait, wasn’t he a wrestler too?
Boomstick: Standing an imposing 6'10” and just looking like the most badass angel of death, The Undertaker is easily one of the most imposing wrestlers of all time. Complete with an arsenal of deadly moves and abilities.
Wiz: The Undertaker's abilities in the are far from subtle. He can lift people like the 500+ Yokozuna with one arm and compete with Kane, who can rip steel doors from their hinges.
Boomstick: He's also got a massive array of supernatural abilities, both in the comics and in the ring. He can teleport, shoot lightning, control the weather, create illusions and most famously, can steal the souls of his victims. You know, after kicking the ever living shit out of them. And then there's his signature moves. The Chokeslam, The Last Ride Powerbomb, The Hells Gate Submission, and of course, the Tombstone Piledriver.
Wiz: With all his abilities both in and out of the ring, its no wonder the Phenom has racked up quite the resume. He went 21 consecutive matches at Wrestlemania, survived a 10 story fall without a scratch, defeated the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena, who easily has the most plot armor of any wrestler.
Boomstick: And he defeated the Embalmer and The Lord of the Dead after acquiring the Three Books of the Dead, which is basically like the Necronomicon but in a series of 3. All the way down to being able to rip open the fabric of the universe and shape it however he wishes. Man, how do you stop this guy?
Feats:
- Won 21 consecutive WrestleMania's.
- Defeated John Cena, Triple H, Bray Wyatt, Kane.
- Survived a 10 story fall and got up soon after.
- Defeated the Embalmer and the Lord of the Dead.
- Can tank Hulk Hogans Atomic Leg Drop in WWE Immortals.
- Rules an entire prison in Hell.
- Fought off an entire army of demons.
Faults:
- Can be physically overpowered.
- Was defeated by Brock Lesnar
Wiz: Its certainly difficult but the Deadman has certainly suffered his fair share of losses, such as being imprisoned in his own prison, and his most infamous to Brock Lesnar, who broke his undefeated streak. It’s also worth pointing out that while the Undertaker has no soul, he can still be harmed and even killed, just not in any traditional sense.
Boomstick: Ya, its one of the many setbacks of living with a mortal body. Pretty soon a walk to the fridge is going to feel like a tumble off the side of a mountain.
Wiz: But even at his weakest, The Undertaker is not one to be taken lightly. For if he sets his sights on claiming your mortal soul, then beware.
Boomstick: *Imitates a gong*
Pre-Fight[]
Lightning strikes the sky just above the horizon of a dark, lonely night. A soft wind blew at the edge of the treetops that hugged a narrow road leading seeming to nowhere.
Riding up the long stretch of old country road came a man dressed in black biker attire, darkened shades and a rather wicked looking bike. Leaving nothing but darkness in his wake was Mark Calaway. Former wrestler and biker enthusiast. After 30 years of raising hell in the ring, the man formerly known as the Undertaker is finally ready to settle down. Taking one last bike ride through a rural Ohio town before meeting up with his wife in Cleveland.
Passing by a downtrodden billboard with a picture of a family on the bottom left corner, and the text ‘’Welcome to Springwood. A nice place to live.’’ centered in the middle.
Despite being used to long rides on the road, Mark couldn’t help the sudden feeling of restlessness coming over him.
So he closed his eyes for just a moment.
And immediately knew that something was wrong. The road looked an awful lot longer than it was the last time he checked. Going on forever it seemed. It even looked off, more bumby filled with potholes.
He passed a nearby street sign that read ‘’Elm St’’....and then he passed it again, and again.
And again.
But if that wasn’t already waving any red flags, he knew something indeed wasn’t right when we passed the same billboard once again. There was no mistaking it, it was the same one albeit with one little difference. With the text reading ‘’A nice place to die.’’, as the family in the corner was covered in slash wounds and the father was missing his head.
The biker didn’t have any time to properly react to it before turning his head to the road and slamming the breaks, hard. Stopping dead center as a few dozen meters away stood a group of three little girls all dressed in white, playing jump rope in the middle of the road. Seemingly unfazed by the idea of almost getting run over. Though he had little idea of how they looked since they faced away from him.
‘’Hey. What are you kids doing on the road?’’ Mean Mark shouted to the stone faced girls, who once again didn’t react to his presence. Kicking his bike's leg into place, the old wrestler made his way towards the little girls. Hearing what could only be described as unholy chanting.
‘’One, two, Freddys coming for you. Three, four, better lock your door.’’
The chanting echoed unnaturally off the treeline and continued to grow to immense proportions as Mark grabbed one of the little girls by the shoulder to turn her around.
‘’Five, Six Grab A Crucifix. Nine, Ten Never Sleep Again.’’
Mark jumped back as the chanting stopped, leaving him to face a blank stare of a little girl with no eyes to speak off. Her little white dressed covered in blood.
‘’What the Hell?”
Gripping his nose as the smell of blood and cinders permeate the air, bringing about a massive coughing fit from the old wrestler. His vision swirled and distorted like a Salvador Dali painting. Melting away the tree and bodies of the little girls, replacing them with the cold, red tinted metal walls and the steel girders of a boiler room.
To Mark, everything felt like a dream of sorts.
‘’Where am I?’’ He asks only himself, not expecting a reply when a chuckle materializes on the catwalk above him. Walking out of the red steam was a man in a red and black sweater and a brown fedora that did nothing to mask the burned, charred skin of the Springwood Slasher. His signature glove scraping against the rail.
‘’Welcome to my World, Deadman. Or is it, dead man? Or do you just go by Mark now?’’ Asked the scarred slasher, tapping his chin with the sharp edge of his glove.
‘’What the hell are you?’’ Said Taker, clearly in no mood to be toyed with. Asking ‘’What did you do to those girls?’’ only to receive a hearty laugh from the serial killer as he hanged from the edge of the rail.
‘’They weren’t real, dumbass.’’ He says, leaping to the floor below and parting the chains in his path. ‘’But I am. I am as real as your fears.’’ Slowly approaching his captive, whose growing anger only served to propel his captor forward. ‘’Don’t believe me? Well….’’
In a rare moment of weakness, Mark flinched as Freddys face melted away, taking the appearance of one Brock Lesnar. The man who, for all intensive purposes, broke his streak, his spirit, his body and more. Flinching even more when Brock charged with evil intent, only to disappear in a cloud of smoke.
‘’Welcome to your nightmare.’’ Freddys voice echoed off the walls.
Fight[]
‘’POW!’’ Yelled Brock/Freddy as he appeared behind the elder man, punching him so hard he flew from one end of the room to the other, crashing into a boiler. Groaning in pain before being lifted into the air and thrown around, cracking his back against a rail.
Brock approached the stunned man and straddled his legs, unleashing a flurry of punches on his smaller foe, who did everything to block the blows. He roared before lifting Taker on his shoulders, marched to the center of the area and delivered an emphatic F5 on the steel floor. Causing blood to shoot from his mouth.
Freddy, having reverted back to his normal form, grabbed the weakened Taker by his foot and dragged him across the floor before raising his clawed hand to strike true at his foe's neck.
Despite his injuries, Mark dug deep and dodged the blow and delivered one of his own to Freddy's face. Grabbing the slasher by the scruff of his shirt and wailing jab after jab upon his face, knocking him off for a moment.
‘’I ffink yo bhrok mah nosse.’’ Freddy muffled under his hands as struggled to stand, wiping the blood from his mouth. Getting to his feet as Krueger snapped his nose back into place, wiping his claws against his shirt. ‘’All right, dead man. I’ll play your game.’’ He said, taking a boxing stance and hopping on his feet like an over joyous Mike Tyson. ‘’Come on! Hit me, swing, swing!’’
And swing Taker did, nailing Freddy in the jaw before getting in close and releasing a swirl of blows on Freddy's chest while keeping watch for that dangerous clawed right hand. He was the ‘’best pure striker’’ for a reason after all. An attempted kick is caught between Takers elbow before taking Freddy to dick kick city, who let out a yowl of pain before collapsing.
‘’Dirty move! You’re disqualified!’’ Freddy said, rolling on the ground as Taker approached him. Before he could capitalize, he found himself levitating in mid air, Kruegers hand raised before him. Saying ‘’Never mind. It's No Holds Barred!’’ before throwing Taker hither and yon. His durable yet still very mortal body colliding with the metal walls of the room.
He roared in pain as he felt his ribs crack upon colliding with a metal beam before falling on his back, spitting up blood. His vision warped, he barely noticed Freddy on the catwalk above him as he gestured to an imaginary crowd before he leaped off the balcony to aim a mighty elbow drop. Causing him to spit even more blood as the air escaped his lungs.
To add insult to injury, Freddy laid himself on the wounded mans chest and counted aloud ‘’One, Two, Three!’’ before getting up and running around as if he’d just won the world championship. Stopping at the head of his opponent and bending down to mock him further. ‘’I’d say the ref called it down the middle.’’ He chuckled before bringing up the disembodied head of one Vince McMahon. Asking ‘’Whaddya say Vince?’’ before covering his mouth with the other hand and replying in a mocking tone ‘’I think that was good shit!’’ before tossing the head to the side.
Yet somehow, despite the pain, Calaway managed to grip Freddy's pants to pull himself up. The springwood killer couldn’t help but shake his head in shame.
‘’Aw. Now this is just sad.’’ Wrapping his hand around the struggling, bloody head of Mark Calaway. Moaning in pain he hadn’t felt in quite some time. As if all the pain he’d ever suffered was suddenly coming back to haunt him. ‘’Come on. Isn’t this where you make your big comeback? Knock me around and pin me for the 1, 2, 3?’’
Behind the struggling wrestler, amongst the red smoke of the boiler room, came a coffin with a very familiar symbol. The infamous blue cross used during his wrestling days that reminded him of all the souls he’d locked in those casket matches. As it rose from the smoke and opened up, Freddy meanwhile, continued to gloat to the enfeeble man before him.
‘’You might be wondering why I chose you, old man. Well….’’ Freddy raised three fingers, cutting off each one as he listed off his reasons.
Slice
‘’One. You took all those souls for yourself. Selfish bitch!’’
Slice
‘’Two. With you around, everyone was afraid of you and not me!’’
Slice
‘’And Three! Because I can!’’ He chuckled, lifting up his nearly limp foe, walking him to the open coffin like a drunken bystander. ‘’But I can forgive you, ol’ Mark, yes I can. You just need to… take a time out.’’ He said before tossing him into the casket.
Stepping back to admire his handiwork, Freddy threw a mocking throat slash complete with an eye roll. Grabbing the casket door and preparing to close it on his foe. ‘’So you stay and think about what you've done. And I’ll be right here, watching your soul break bit by bit.’’ Chuckling and giving Mark a little wave.
‘’M-my soul?’’ Mark said as a coffin closed, a barely noticeable smile hitched on his lips as he was encased.
Krueger took off his hat for a moment, imitating a show of respect before stepping back before jokingly tipping the coffin over. Laughing as he rose his arms and set the coffin ablaze with a now presumably dead Mark Calaway inside.
But as the wood began to burn away, the slasher noticed that the body of the man once known as the Undertaker was all but untouched by the flames. Even as the fire grew to unnatural proportions, as did Freddys frustration and confusion, the body refused to burn.
‘’Oh, give me a break.’’ He muttered angrily as he approached the lifeless body, intent on doing it the old fashioned way. Bending over to examine the body with his clawed glove. ‘’You’re really getting on my nerves.’’ He said before the hand of the Deadman shot up and clocked Freddy in the jaw, causing the slasher to shout in surprise.
''Why won’t you die?’’ Growled Freddy as The Undertaker sat up like a man possessed and stared holes into his form. Rushing towards the retired wrestler with intent to kill, who raised a big boot to stun him. His fists electrified, striking him twice in the face before twisting his arm and slamming him to the ground.
Freddy gasped as he lost his balance, just nearly avoiding a boot meant for his face before teleporting behind his foe, claw raised. The blow missed and cost him as he was pulled closer.
Gasping when Mark's black gloved hand wrapped around his neck. An attempt to slash his way out is thwarted as Taker parries the gloved hand, holding it back by the wrist as he stared daggers at the master of nightmares, who teleported away in a thick cloud of red.
‘’Stone cold bitch.’’ He muttered, rubbing his neck before suddenly feeling a presence behind him as a cloud of purple smoke appeared. Swiping and missing the Deadman who managed to wrap his fingers around Freddy's throat once more, with the Springwood Slasher doing the same with his free hand.
The two struggling for dominance on the rickety catwalk as lightning crackled between the Deadmans fingertips.
‘’C-come on! Why aren’t you dying?’’ Freddy choked out in between his opponents fingers. His face contorting into a warped, misshapen image complete with lifeless, bleeding eyes and shrunken teeth. Warping between the persona of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Growling ‘’I know you’re afraid of something!’’
But Taker doesn’t flinch.
Rather he tightens his grip on the slashers throat and pulls him closer.
‘’I’m not afraid of you!’’ He said, followed by a headbutt before throwing Freddy's arm over his and delivering a massive chokeslam, all the while, Freddy yelled just before being slammed into the ground. The catwalk, and the metaphysical dreamworld shattering under the impact point, breaking like glass. Pulling both combatants into the real world.
Lightning strikes the sky just as the two sit up in unison in the center of the road where they first met. Having been forced out of the dream realm, Freddy clenches his gloved fist as Taker rises. His face contorted in anger.
‘’What's wrong Freddy? I thought you wanted this?’’ Mark said, removing his blood soaked bandana. Clearly still feeling some effects from the dream world, but more eager than ever to continue. Declaring ‘’You wanted the Undertaker, so that's what I’m gonna give you!’’ before raising his arms and unleashing a torrent of lightning from the sky.
Striking the area around Freddy before disappearing in a thick cloud of purple smoke. ‘’You think this changes anything because we’re in the real world? I’m still ready for round two, bitch!’’ Freddy spits as it begins to rain, extending his clawed hand and letting loose a flood of fire upon the area.
The hellfire, combined with the massive windstorm, set the nearby forest ablaze within seconds. The smoke gave way to a rather pissed off Freddy, and an even more angry Taker, who stood in a dark cloak with a hat similar to that of his opponent. Eyes rolled to the back of his head with an aura of pure darkness surrounding him as he spoke to the now bewildered slasher.
‘’Give the devil his due, Freddy, you’ve earned your name. But…’’ The phenom took off his cloak and hat, throwing them into the chaos around them and stating. ‘’You need to learn that you can’t kill what won’t die.’’
‘’Burn Bitch!’’ Freddy raised his hand and let loose a torrent of flame, with The Phenom retaliating with a bolt of lightning that resulted in a glorious explosion, sending shockwaves hither and yon.
As Taker pushed away the flames, he barely had time to react as Freddy charged from the flames. His clawed glove slashing at Takers back and following it with a vicious kick to the ribs. With fists of dark energy, Taker retaliated with strike after strike, hitting Freddy so hard his hat fell from his charred head.
The storm around them raged as they continued trading blows, each ending in violent clashes of fire and lightning. The sound of flesh on flesh was barely audible over the tearing wind. Even as Freddy managed to land near fatal swipes to The Phenoms chest, and Taker breaking more than a few bones in the Slashers body, it was clear that neither was willing to surrender.
Until it seemed the owner of Deadman Inc. got the advantage and delivered a mean hook to Freddy's gut, setting him up for the last ride powerbomb.
‘’Oh shiiiit!’’ Freddy yelled all the way until he collided with the curb, his back surely breaking in at least a few places. But he was durable, his battles with Jason proved as much, as he was able to roll on his stomach and crawl towards the forest.
Only to be stopped as Taker grabs him by the foot and drags him to the center of the road, closer to the raging flame.
‘’They say delusion is the final recourse for the damned. So Freddy, prepare to suffer for eternity!’’ The Deadman growled to his downed foe. Performing his signature throat slash and reaching to seize Freddy by the throat.
Only to lose all of his fingers as Freddy suddenly regained the strength to move and swiped his clawed hand across Takers, who let out a blood curdling scream as a result. Blood squirting from his now stubbed fingers.
‘’I. Am. Eternal!’’ Freddy barked before tackling the Phenom to the ground, digging his blades just above the shoulder before raising them to blind his opponent. Taker managed to use his one good hand to hold back the blades, but faded slowly as the Springwood Slasher pressed all his weight down.
Just as the blades were an inch from his eyes, Taker used Kruegers momentum and forced Freddys hand in between him, avoiding the blades, and wrapping his knees around the slasher's neck. Trapping him in a Hells Gate submission.
‘’Ohh, f-fuck you!’’ Freddy choked as his arm was wrenched to its limit, breaking the elbow and leaving it limp. Still he struggled, punching at Taker with his one good arm. Taker meanwhile used his stubby arm and increased the pressure around Freddys neck, hoping to make the child killer pass out.
But Freddy wasn’t about to give up. Not a chance in hell.
‘’I don’t tap, Deadman.’’ He coughed, spitting blood as an act of defiance. ‘’But I don’t mind cheating!’’ He said, his one good arm raising to reveal the most unholy of scriptures. A book bound in human flesh, made specifically to render human flesh.
The Necronomicon Ex Mortis.
The Phenom, of course, didn’t recognize the book, but soon found himself being overpowered as Freddys arm snapped back into place and unhooked his legs from his neck. Fire spewed from Freddys crown as he seized Taker by the neck, the blades cutting into the back of his spine.
‘’NOW I’M PLAYING WITH POWER!’’ Freddy declared as his body grew to immense proportions, rising above the treeline and growing into a giant with the power of the Necronomicon. Keeping Taker in his fist as if he was just a toy. Crushing him just enough to make him wail in pain, but not enough to kill him yet.
He wanted him to suffer.
‘’I told you, Bitch! I am eternal! And you’re just a man.’’ The newly minted God-Freddy proclaimed, taking a giant step forward and cracking the earth beneath him. Opening a fiery sinkhole that led to the deepest pit of hell.
Looping Taker between his fingers like a slinky, Freddy winded up his arm like he was about to throw the best curveball of the century.
‘’Tell em, Freddy sent ya!’’
With his arm winded back to an unnatural degree, Freddy threw the bloody, broken, miniature man into the well of flames, savoring his screams of agony. The hole closing around him as Hell itself claimed the immortal legend. A giant Krueger laughed like he never had before, stretching his clawed hands as the power of a God swirled between his fingertips.
‘’The world belongs to me now!’’
K.O[]
Boomstick: Well, that was hellish. I guess Taker couldn’t, take the heat! I suppos-
K.O[]
Without warning, a massive gloved hand shrouded in darkness burst from the ground and ripped open the very layer between the Earth and Hell. Lightning strikes the ground and further rips open the fabric of reality.
And from the earth came The Undertaker in his most unholy form. Hellfire burning against his skin, as he rose from his proverbial grave to stare down the Springwood Slasher turned God. Floating around him seemed to be 3 black books that just oozed pure darkness.
‘’I have walked through the fires of Hell before. And when all was said and done, the devil himself, kneeled before me!’’ The Phenom proclaimed.
‘’Who needs the Devil! I am a God, bitch!’’ Freddy barks, using his claws to open up a portal to the Deadite world and unleashes an army of disfigured, zombie-like creatures. Taker retaliates by raising his hands and summoning the Hounds of Hell at his heels.
As the armies of Darkness and Hell battled at their feet, the two giants collided, sending shockwaves that ripped trees from their roots.
Krueger summons hellfire to his claws and swipes at the Deadman, cutting into his face and nearly blinding him. But the pain only boosts his resolve as the fire does nothing to stop him from twisting Freddy's arm and smashing his face with a nasty elbow.
Taker sends a powerful blast of dark energy straight through Freddy's chest, spilling his immortal blood upon the armies below them. But it does very little to stop him as he laughs, and transforms into a massive worm like creature.
Its maw opens up and retracts hundreds of tiny teeth as it lunges at Taker, enveloping him. Swallowing his foe whole like a leech. But this only proved to be a massive mistake on Freddy's part. Roaring in pain as lightning stuck him from above before a blade cut right through his flesh from the inside out. Severing his body in two as The Phenom, now wielding a massive scythe, cut his way out.
Freddy regenerates from his wounds just as blade meets finger blades, the sparks raining down on their respective armies. Face to face as Freddy closes the distance, pushing the Deadman to one knee.
‘’Sticks and stones, Deadman. But nothing can kill me!’’ Reeling back before cutting Takers' scythe in two, Freddy manipulates the earth below them and pins his opponents feet to the ground. He telepathically pulls the remaining trees from their roots and sharpens them. Yelling ‘’Catch!’’ and hurling them at the Deadman with murderous intent.
Only for everything to go very, very wrong.
A very loud ‘’gong’’ erupted from the sky as The Undertaker simply appeared behind Freddy. Eyes glossed over as Freddys laughter ceased for the final time. Turning around to meet his gaze, only to see the hellfire erupting from his eyes as his throat was caught again in Takers grasp.
‘’I don’t have to kill you, Freddy. Just send you back where you belong!’’ He growled, his hand breaking past Freddys physical layer and tearing into his soul. Bent on taking the one thing he never had.
‘’No! That's not possible!’’ Freddy cried, feeling his power draining as he tried to slash his way out. Attempting to keep his godlike powers however, proved useless as the very book that gave him this power fled from his body.
‘’You failed us!’’
‘’Manipulated us!’’
‘’Took our powers away!’’
The voices from the Book of the Dead screamed at the Springwood Slasher, who watched as it too took away his power, ripping apart his very soul as he cried out in agony.
‘’NO! NO! NO!’’ He shouted as he shrunk back to his normal size, falling on his back as Taker stood at his feet. The Necronomicon falling to the ground, burying itself into the earth to leave the now human Freddy to his fate. Which wouldn’t be long as The Undertaker grabbed the human slasher and forced him onto his feet.
‘’Now look into the eyes of the reaper, and pay for your crimes.’’ Following his statement with a trademark throat slash and throwing the Springwood Slasher over his shoulder, setting him up for the end.
‘’OH NOOOOO!’’ Freddy screamed the entire ride as Taker roared. Leaping into the air and delivering a massive tombstone piledriver that shook the ground. Freddy's head, somehow still intact, breaks the very earth beneath him. Fire erupted from the ground in a way that could only be compared to a meteor strike. Engulfing the two as they fell, with one clearly in more pain than the other.
Freddy's clawed glove dug onto the edge of the earth's crust, only to be crushed by the black boot of The Undertaker, who delivered one final look of hostility before kicking the once feared slasher into the fiery pit. Screaming all the way while his body and soul being were dragged down by the many spirits of Hell.
‘’Taking souls and digging holes!’’ Taker growled as the earth closed, imprisoning his foe in Hell for all eternity.

Boomstick: Hey Wiz? What do you think the average temperature is down there. I’d say….hellish.
Wiz: Bad puns aside, I think we can all agree that there were a lot of factors to determining the outcome.
Boomstick: For one thing, both had similar spooky abilities like teleportation, illusions and pyrokinesis. Though Freddy had a bigger advantage with his nearly limitless power in the Dream Realm. If only for a while.
Wiz: He certainly had more control over it than The Deadman, allowing him to hurt him plenty with his sadistic and maniacal imagination, the problem was keeping him in there. Which Freddy is normally able to accomplish by keeping his victims afraid so that he can kill them and claim their soul. And that's where the problem lies.
Boomstick: You mean the kind of, almost, minor, somewhat important detail regarding Takers lack of a soul? Ya, a bit of a problem. And once Taker figured out what Freddy's game plan was, he had really no reason to fear him and could drag him into the real world like every main lead teenage character he’s ever met. And, let's be honest, Freddy was at a clear physical disadvantage. Claw hand or not.
Wiz: Freddy is certainly no pushover in a fight and durability wise the two were very similar, at least until their more supernatural abilities kicked in like Freddy's superior regeneration.
Boomstick: Undertaker once fell 10 stories and got up without a scratch, and Freddy was tossed around by Jason who can easily break through the walls of a house, and he even matched his strength for a moment. Taker can tank Hulk Hogans actual atomic leg drop in WWE Immortals, and he could lift the 500+ pound Yokozuna and match his brother Kane, who could rip steel doors from their hinges. They’ve even both been set on fire, under different circumstances.
Wiz: But it's not just their physical abilities that defined the outcome. While The Undertaker doesn’t have a soul, Freddy does, and has actually been killed because of it. Recall that prior to becoming a wrestler, The Undertaker was a warden of Stygian or River Styx, one of Hells many prisons for multiple millennia.
Boomstick: Kinda odd, guarding a river of sticks…...what?
Wiz: (sigh), during his mission to reclaim the Death Scribe, he battled armies of demon hordes, werewolves and most notably, the dark druid, The Embalmer, who could match both The Undertaker, and his brother Kane physically.
Boomstick: With all that power and experience on his side, and the ability to resist most of Freddy's mind games, you’d think this would be all but easy for the Phenom. But there was one more thing Freddy had up his sleeve that could match the Death Scribe. The Necronomicon.
Wiz: It's fair to say that the Necronomicon Ex Mortis and The Books of the Dead were very similar. Both could raise armies, warp reality, even turn the users into ultra powerful, god-like beings. With one major difference being that the Necronomicon is sentient, to a point. You would think this would give Freddy an advantage in the long run, except that the book can and very much has ditched the Springwood Slasher for being ‘’unworthy’’. And along with taking away his godlike abilities, it also stripped him of his normal powers, leaving him mortal.
Boomstick: Now I know what some of you are thinking. ‘’Oh but Wiz, if the Necronomicon could just leave Freddy, why give it to him? Also, it was in a spin off comic anyway.’’ Well mostly because if we include the Three Books of the Dead, we might as well include Freddy's version to even it out. And given that Taker is literally prophesied to bring Armageddon and reshape the universe with these books, it's fair to say he could still beat Freddy anyway given his many centuries of experience.
Wiz: Also, unlike Jason, Freddy couldn’t just give Undertaker a soul and make him vulnerable because he never had one in the first place. But let's assume neither of them had their undead scriptures and they only relied on their normal abilities. Well, The Phenom still has the edge. It’s been heavily implied that Undertaker can send someone's soul to Hell regardless if he’s using the books, this is mentioned in both the Chaos Comics and official WWE lore.
Boomstick: And aside from carrying a deadlier weapon, Freaky Fred had no real way of permanently killing Taker. While the Deadman didn’t have that many fatal options, he had the advantage of being able to send Freddy to Hell, and sure Freddy could always find a way out, but being stuck in the underworld is about as dead as you can make him.
Wiz: And we won’t go into the possibility of the Undertaker using the Necronomicon to permanently kill Freddy like Ash and Nancy did in Nightmare Warriors. Given time he could possibly do it, but in the constraints of a Death Battle, you go with what you have. And unfortunately for Freddy, The Phenom had everything he needed to send the Springwood Slasher to his grave. Soul crushing moves, endurance, willpower and an unnatural ability to defy the odds.
Boomstick: Freddy is certainly the man. But against the Undertaker, he was a dead man.
The Winner is The Undertaker.
