Beginning[]
Wiz: Fear is very powerful. It can haunt your dreams, and can drive you insane.
Boomstick: And some use it as their weapon, like Dr. Jonathan Crane, the Scarecrow
Wiz: And Freddy Krueger, the Springwood Slasher
Boomstick: I'm Boomstick and he's Wiz!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and strength and find out who would win a Death Battle?
Freddy Krueger[]
Boomstick: Hey look, it's the guy who lost to Jason.
Wiz: Frederick Charles Krueger was born on in Springwood, Ohio in 1942.
Boomstick: Who was a victim of gang rape! And then his good ol' mom went into an insane asylum. Is that why he has that weirdly burned face?
Wiz: Anyway, Freddy was then put under adoption by his mom and was adopted by Mr. Underwood.
Boomstick: Freddy then lived a life of gangs, violence and prostitutes. This guy has the worst childhood ever. Even worse than my ex!
Wiz: Despite this, Krueger was constantly beat up by Underwood. Then one day, Freddy revolted and killed the old pimp.
Boomstick: Yep, this guy's life sucks.
Wiz: After living by himself for a long time, Freddy scared some kids while he was walking around. He then got married, then killed his wife, and his daughter got him arrested.
Boomstick: But cops couldn't stop Freddy. Not even Obama.
Wiz: But they didn't arrest them. They literally burned him alive!
Boomstick: But not even fire could stop him, since Freddy went to hell and asked the dream demons to give him cool powers. He was the like the TOAA of Dream Land..er, World.
Wiz: Even outside of the Dream World, Freddy is a pretty good fighter. His two, sharp claws can harm and kill people, he can shoot fireballs from his claw and can stun his foe with some Green Ooze.
Boomstick: But he is not invincible. As I early said, he lost to Jason and some regular ol' teenagers.
Wiz: Even so, he's called the Springwood Slasher for a reason.
Freddy: You are all my children now!
Scarecrow[]
Wiz: Son of Chemist Gerald Crane, Jonathan was born out of wedlock and was raised by his abusive grandmother Mary Keeney, who made him wear a scarecrow outfit so he could be attacked by crows.
Boomstick: Is it just me, or does every villain have an abusive parent in their origin stories?
Wiz: Well, Bowser, Dr. Eggman and Darth Sidious didn't have abusive parents.
Boomstick: True.
Wiz: Anyway, Crane's fear of Keeney and the scarecrows creeping near him, alongside being constantly bullied, made Crane snap and start following phobias.
Boomstick: He then decided to be bad and what was the outfit he decided to wear....a Scarecrow outfit.
Wiz: Anyway, Scarecrow's fighting style is a mix between kung fu and drunk boxing that he calls "Violent Dancing."
Boomstick: Wow, that's got to be the lamest fighting style ever!
Wiz: It can harm people like Batman, so it must be pretty good if I would say so myself.
Boomstick: Anyway, Scarecrow's weapon of choice is his Fear Toxin. When the victim inhales the toxin, it makes the victim scared of Scarecrow.
Wiz: He also uses a pitchfork, guns and a horse. But his most versatile weapon is his claw. With it, he can inject the foe or himself with Fear Toxin or just claw 'em.
Boomstick: He was once a Yellow Lantern, but only for a short time. However, his Fear won't work on those who don't fear him, which mean he's basically screwed.
Wiz: But Scarecrow is a lot scarier than his Wizard of Oz cousin.
Scarecrow: And at the end of fear, oblivion.
Intermission[]
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!
Death Battle[]
Batman: That should take care of Crane.
Gordon: Good work Batman, I knew I could count on you.
Scarecrow had just been knocked out unconscious by Batman, and was starting to dream as he was being taken to Arkham Asylum. But this was no ordinary dream as he soon found himself in a hellish place.
Scarecrow: Where am I?
Freddy: Welcome to my world, bitch.
FIGHT!
Freddy lunges at Scarecrow, but Scarecrows throws Freddy off him, knocking Freddy into a rock. Freddy got back up and shot a fireball from his claw. Scarecrow ducks and sees Freddy laughing.
Freddy: Congrats. You've survived longer than 2 seconds. NOW DIE!
Scarecrow pulls out his pitchfork and stabs Freddy with it. Freddy is hit in the in head and dodges before Scarecrow hits him again.
Freddy then starts using his Dream World powers and uses TK to throw stone pillars at Scarecrow. Scarecrow is hurdled back and knocked down.
Freddy: I'm surprised you still alive.
Scarecrow: I have survived worse.
Freddy: Nothing will ever be as powerful as me. Now except fear.
Freddy then starts using some of his fear powers in an attempt to kill Crane. However, Scarecrow injects himself with some of his Fear Toxin, causing the fear to go away.
Freddy: Crap, this one doesn't fear me.
Suddenly, Freddy and Scarecrow are back in the real world in the street. Scarecrow whistles and a black horse appears. Freddy easily kills the horse with a single slice at its throat, killing it.
Scarecrow: You like to use fear, but now feel my version!
Scarecrow stabs Freddy with his claw, but it doesn't seem to affect Freddy. Freddy is laughing as Scarecrow becomes worried.
Freddy: You think your little gimmicks effect me at all! I am the master of fear! And I grant you a painful death.
Freddy then stabs Scarecrow with his claw. Scarecrow stumbles back and pulls out a rifle. The rifle doesn't even effect Freddy.
Freddy then thrusts his claw through Crane's head, instantly killing the villain.
Freddy then laughs and enters another victim's dreams as Scarecrow's body is devoured by coyotes.
KO!
Conclusion[]
Wiz: To tell you the truth Boomstick, this battle was actually a stomp.
Boomstick: I'm all ears.
Wiz: Well, Scarecrow's main weapon is his Fear Toxin. But Freddy is a master of fear, and it is very unlikely Crane's toxin could actually scare Freddy. And without his Toxin, Scarecrow had to fight an uphill battle.
Boomstick: Plus, Scarecrow literally has no feats other than being a yellow Lantern. But that was for a short period of time, and it could be easily countered by Dream World Freddy.
Wiz: Also, Scarecrow constantly loses to Batman and hasn't really beat anyone, while Freddy's losses are pretty much against Jason and some kids who got revenge upon in various sequels.
Boomstick: Looks like Freddy was just too scary for Scarecrow
Wiz: The winner is Freddy Krueger

When Franklin D Roosevelt was being inaugurated into the white house he famously said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” But i'm willing to bet if he ever met these two combatants he’d eat his words.
Scarecrow,the fear inducing villain of the batman.
Deadpool: “And Freddy Krueger,the springwood slasher from elm street. Oh yeah that's right i'm back baby.”
Oh goodie. I was hoping you’d show up.
Deadpool: “Wait you’re happy to see me. Why do I get a bad feeling about this?”
Don’t worry about it. Im dangerous2nite and he's Deadpool and it is not our job to analyze their weapons armour and skills but i have nothing better to do than to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Scarecrow[]
As a young boy Johnathon Crane lived his whole life in a constant state of fear. As a young boy he was bullied by children and adults alike for his awkward appearance,lived with his religious grandmother who abused him constantly and was used by his father as a test subject for his fear based experiments. Needless to say when you go through all that you’re practically guaranteed to go just a little bit crazy. But to be fair Crane turned out pretty ok given the circumstances. After killing his grandmother he even went to school and got a doctorate specialising in phobias.
Deadpool: “A doctorate that's just a little bit less helpful than poultry science but whatever.”
Unfortunately due to all these events that haunted his past Crane became literally obsessed with fear. In attempts to study and master fear he began to use his own students in his experiments. Until one day his experiments were discovered and he was promptly fired from his job and publicly shamed and humiliated. Infuriated and reminded of his past humiliations Crane began to seek revenge on those who had wronged him and turned to a life of crime as the fearsome super villain The Scarecrow.
Deadpool: “Leave the jokes to me wise guy ok.”
Uh whatever. Scarecrow is actually quite the formidable foe,I mean to be fair if you want to be one of the bats top billed rouges then you would need to be. He's skilled enough to go hand to hand with Batman at times and he's smart enough to outsmart him too. He carries a range of weapons such as scythes and pitchforks but when he really needs to get serious he has his very own concoction. A gas he calls his Fear Toxin. Exposure to this gas forces people to hallucinate their worst fears with such reality they truly believe they have come alive.
Man. I really wish that there was some way that we could see just what it did.
???: “And that's where we come in.”
(In a small laboratory room we see Deadpool tied to a chair and two small Chibi figures. Some of you may remember these two figures as Harley Quibi and Chibiet from the short lived series Chibi Battle. Quibi is wearing a lab coat and holding a clipboard while Chibiet is holding a spray can.)
Deadpool: “Huh what the hell who are you two? How did I get here?”
Quinnbi: “Good question, my irritating test subject. Simply put we are here to safely test out the more interesting and wacky weapons of our contestants. And our first test today is of course The fear toxin.”
Chibiet: “As Dangerous2nite already explained the fear toxin can cause anyone exposed to it to vividly hallucinate their worst nightmare subjecting them to intense psychological attacks and driving them to insanity. So are you sure that we should be using...HIM to test on?”
Quinbi: “Eh it should be fine after all don’t forget i'm a doctor.”
Chibiet shrugs and sprays Deadpool with the gas.
Deadpool: “Arg what the hell-OH GOD WHAT IS THAT. OH OH GOD. IT'S A GIANT CHIMICHANGA.”
Quinbi: “Interesting”
Cleary the fear toxin is a deadly weapon. Not only can it drive even the goddamn Batman to sheer madness but it can also affect kryptonians like Supergirl and even Superman as well as other superheroes like Martian Manhunter and Shazam. Hell once when Shazam went to foil one of Scarecrow's evil schemes Batman stated that Scarecrow was too dangerous of a foe for him to face.
This is all mostly due to Scarecrow's other dangerous weapon,his mind. He's super smart, able to trade wits with Batman and at one point when Aquaman was struggling to discover the secret identity of a serial killer he went to Scarecrow of all people for help. He's surprisingly skilled in hand to hand combat being a master at the crane style of kung fu an actual real life fighting style. When he needs an extra little boost he has steroids that let him match Batman in strength but when his back is to the wall he has one last ace up his sleeve.
After being hired by the Penguin and secretly experimented on, Scarecrow gained access to a transformation called the Scarebeast. While he can’t access this form manulally needing to be under incredible stress and physical strain to transform it gives him an incredible stat boost. While in this form Batman needed to bust out his physical armour to match him. Armour usually saved for foes like Bane or Killer Croc. Bane can throw cars around and at one point broke through 2737 cubic pounds of ice. In order to break through that amount of ice Bane would have to be hitting with around 37 tons of force. The scarebeast is even tough enough to walk through tons of bullets and even getting stabbed through the chest is unnoticeable to it. Also while in this form he constantly oozes out his fear toxin. Like the worst ever case of BO ever.
But to be fair Scarecrow has plenty of flaws. For one thing repeated exposure to his fear toxin has rendered him near invulnerable to fear. In fact he's stated that the only thing that inspires fear in him is Batman. This is a problem for Scarecrow as he has grown addicted to fear and craves it. He also has the durability of a regular human being outside of his Scarebeast transformation.
But still Scarecrow's title as the master of fear is well deserved. Hell he was even found worthy of a yellow lantern ring when the world was attacked by a group of emotion sucking zombies. While he may not be one of DCs greatest threats he's still proven himself to be a deadly enemy not just to the Bat but also to the entirety of Gotham City.
Deadpool: “There you are, you crazy son of a bitch. When i'm done withyou i swear to god-”
Oh girls.
Deadpool: “Oh god no I can’t do that again”

Scarecrow: “Ah lois’ death still haunts you”
Superman: “Of course it does Scarecrow”
Scarecrow: “I can work with that”
Freddy Kruger[]
At night we all fear the things that lurk in the dark. The boogeyman in the closet. The monster under our bed. The ghosts back from the dead seeking revenge. But sometimes people are born more monster than man.
Even before birth Freddy Krugers’ life was destined to be a nightmare.
Deadpool: “Oh wow soooo creative.”
I CAN AND WILL REPLACE YOU WITH NATSUKI!!!
Natsuki: “Huh did someone mention me?
Deadpool: “HUH what the-get out of here you poser.”
Natsuki: “Oh c’mon please don’t make me go back to HIM.”
???: “There you are get back here!”
Natsuki: “Oh god don’t let him find me(SCREAMS)”
Well. That….happened i guess. Let’s move on.
Anyways Amanda Kruger was a nurse at an asylum for the criminally insane. One ward in this hospital housed the most dangerous, most insane criminals around and while performing her duties she was accidentally locked inside for a whole weekend. By the time she was found she had been repeatedly raped and one of these had resulted in her impregnation. Nine months later Fred Krueger was born.
But unfortunately the old saying about sins of the father turned out to be as true as it could ever be for Freddy. As a child he was constantly abused labed the “Son of a hundred maniacs' '. Unable to cope with the trauma his mother gave Freddy up for adoption where he was adopted by an abusive man who would beat him senseless. Until he was a teenager when Freddy laughed off the beatings and thanked his adoptive father by killing him.
Years later Freddy seemed to be doing good. He got himself a nice job at a school and even found himself a wife and raised a daughter with her. But in actuality he was hiding a very dark secret. The town of Springwood had been plagued by a serial killer who hunted kidnapped and killed children and of course as you may have guessed,this serial killer was in actuality Freddy. A fact that his wife found out when she took a trip down to her basement prompting him to violently murder her in front of his child. It wasn’t long after that Freddys child told about her father's secret acts of violence causing him to be quickly arrested. Unfortunately in a rush to arrest him the police officer in charge of his arrest forgot to sign the arrest warrant in the right place causing Kruger to go free on a technicality. Understandably pretty pissed by this turn of events the parents of Springwood tracked Krueger down to his hideout and set him alight putting an end to his villainy once and for all.
Deadpool: “Yeah no they actually made things worse.”
In reality mere moments before death Freddy was visited by the three dream demons. They offered him power and immortality so that he could continue doing what he did for all time. How could he refuse. And so Freddy lived on in the one place their parents could not protect them.
Groundskeeper willie:”In their dreams”
In the dream world Freddy became a nigh unstoppable force and overtime actually managed to kill all the kids in springwood. And while his many dream powers were usual tools for maining and murdering he always stuck with his go to weapon. His bladed glove. Just how horrifying is this weapon you may ask? Well let me ask you this. Have you ever been violently scratched by a cat who may or may not have forced you to go to sleep? It's like 100 times worse than that. Made by Freddy himself this thing can easily shred through skin and bones and leaves an instantly recognizable wound on any of his victims.
Deadpool: “Like a watermark for serial killers. Hey you gotta get your brand recognized somehow right?”
That's actually truer than you might realise but we’ll get there. Anyways while this glove is extremely deadly inside the dream world Freddy has a whole host of powers at his command. He can control the contents of the dream world at his will,teleport,control objects with telekinesis,morph his body at will and is basically just unkillable. He has an extremely potent regenerative factor allowing him to heal from basically seconds. He also pretty much feels very little to no pain and can tough through almost anything. To be blunt in the dream world Freddy is pretty much nigh omnipotent. Hell he even has the power to straight up possess you and take over your body if he wants. And with every kill he gets stronger. See every time Freddy kills someone he absorbs his soul and all these souls give him more and more power.
But if you somehow manage to get Freddy outside the dream world he's still a somewhat formidable foe. While he may be easier to damage he still has a somewhat potent healing factor. With it he can heal from all sorts of wounds reaching his fingers and even just putting his head back together after it was split in half or even surviving being decapitated. He's also good enough to hold his own against people like Jason Voorhees and Ash Williams for a time. Hell Freddy and Jasons’ battle was so intense that when the fight had ended Jason's wounds were so severe he died...Well for a short time. And this is the same Jason who could regenerate a huge hole in his body from a grenade explosion in mere seconds without even noticing. Also Ash is fast enough to outrun a demon chasing him on horseback and even kept up with his own car trying to run him down.
But to be fair despite having all this power at his sleeves Freddy is far from unstoppable. In fact he's taken his fair share of losses due to his foes exploiting his few yet glaring weaknesses. For one Freddy is way more killable in the real world than ours and has been brought into it way more than once. But in order to do this a person must be holding him when they wake up which you would think would be harder than it is considering his bladed glove but whatever. However his second weakness is without a doubt his greatest. See while Freddy may be a god in the dream world in order for him to use and utilize these powers against a foe he needs one key factor. Fear. As long as Freddy is feared Freddy can return but if his victim doesn’t fear him then Freddy's influence over them starts to waver. In fact fear is the very source of his powers and without enough of it he can barely even interact with and hurt his victims.

He also has a few other weaknesses as well for instance. If Krueger witnesses his reflection in the dream world the souls trapped inside him can revolt and tear him apart. The 80s man.
But all in all Freddy is still a fearsome foe. One thing is for certain if you ever see these guys when you close your eyes at night. Pray that you wake up screaming or else you won't wake up at all.
Freddy: “When I was alive I might have been a little bit naughty but after they killed me I became something much,much worse. The stuff nightmares are made out of.” == Fight==
The Batman walked out of the bank with two officers in tow. They were carrying the unconscious body of the villain Scarecrow who had been knocked out following the ruin of his latest scheme. Scarecrow was loaded up into transport and on his way to Arkham. But elsewhere Something sinister was approaching.
Scarecrow awoke. He took sometime to take in his surroundings. This wasn’t Arkham. He was in some sort of Boiler Room. Behind him Scarecrow heard a noise. Like the sound of metal scraping against metal. He spun around to see a man standing there. The man raised his hand and Scarecrow could see what appeared to be four very long fingernails.
The man vanished just as soon as he appeared and Scarecrow turned around to see the man lunging at him with his claw. Scarecrow dodged as the man disappeared and reappeared facing Scarecrow. The man let out a low growly laugh. The fun was about to start.
FIGHT
Scarecrow took the offensive this time. Taking out his scythe he charged at Freddy and swung. Impaling itself in his foe's abdomen it cleave through him like butter. But Scarecrow watched in horror as his foes wounds repaired itself with no effect. Freddy swung his glove down on Scarecrow but Scarecrow caught his arm to defend himself. Only for Freddy to teleport away from his foe yet again. Except it wasn’t just his foe who teleported away it was Scarecrow too. Now he was outside. In a mysterious street. In front of a mysterious house.
Before Scarecrow could properly assess his surroundings Freddy lunged at him but Scarecrow defended himself with his scythe. Both stood there in a standoff. But Scarecrow was slowly gaining the upper hand as he pushed Freddy's glove back towards himself. Only to be thrown away through the walls of this house. As Scarecrow scrambled back to his feet Freddy let out his signature laugh.
Scarecrow: “You think you can scare me. I am the master of fear.”
Freddy: “I know EXACTLY what you’re scared off.”
A Familiar face appeared in the hallway facing Scarecrow. Only it wasn’t the familiar face Scarecrow had been fighting. No instead it was a familiar figure in a black bat suit. Scarecrow's blood began to pump,His heart began to race. This was what he wanted. No this was what he NEEDED. The Batman. Scarecrow rushed at the Bat and the Bat rushed at him back. Scarecrow struck with his scythe while the Bat blocked him with a single hand. While the other hand sliced Scarecrow's stomach. Scarecrow recoiled with the pain. Who was this? The Batman he knew didn’t kill. But through all this uncertainty Scarecrow knew one thing. That he felt fear. And it felt good. The “Batman” struck Scarecrow again only for Scarecrow to dodge and strike with his scythe scratching through his arm. Scarecrow's fear turned slightly towards anger. Who was this? he asked again. The Batman he knew was never this sloppy. While Scarecrow was still gathering his thoughts he was hit with an intense backhand so strong it sent him flying.
The “Batman” walked towards him. Now Scarecrow could clearly see four long fingernails on his right hand. Slowly Scarecrow started putting the pieces together.
“Batman”: “Enough of this. Bow down and fear me.”
Scarecrow: “Fear you? FEAR YOU?”
Freddy extended his arm and sent it towards Scarecrow's chest. Until it went straight through him. But there was no blood. No gore. It was almost as if Freddy's hand had merely materialised through him. Because that was what had happened. Scarecrow swung his scythe this time cutting off Freddys arm. While he recoiled from this attack Scarecrow lunged at him his mind filled with anger. He had never woken up in a boiler room. He had never woken up at all. He was still asleep. His foe had tricked. He had made him think he had Batman. But even worse. He made him think he had fear. He grabbed Freddy by the neck and slammed him against the wall. Freddy countered with a well placed kick to Scarecrow's groin. Freddy punched Scarecrow square in the face while Scarecrow countered by impaling him through the chest. Now annoyed Freddy picked up and threw him across the floor. He took out the scythe in his chest before lunging at his downed foe. Pinning him to the ground he began to pummel Freddy's face repeatedly. But these punches awoke something in Scarecrow. Both figuratively and literally.
Back in the real world Scarecrow began to squirm in his sleep. As an orderly came over to check on him, Scarecrow awoke and sat up with a shock. And a mysterious new passenger was thrown towards the driver causing him to lose control of the wheel. The ambulance crashed into a nearby car and in mere moments there was a massive pile up.
A figure banged on the door to the ambulance before finally breaking down the doors and breaking free. Freddy looked around at the carnage and smiled. He then turned his attention to his arm which had snapped in such a way it was revealing bone. With a painful motion he snapped it back into place. This wasn’t Springwood but now that he was back in the real world he would be able to see his children again. He began to walk away until he heard a low growl coming from behind him. He turned around just in time to see a giant beast run towards him and lift him by the neck. Freddy impaled his claws into his arms causing the Scarebeast to roar. It threw Freddy across the street causing him to roll and scramble back to his feet.
Freddy: “You think i’m afraid of you? Now that we’re in the real world?”
The Scarebeast just let out a loud roar and lunged to his foe who dodged to the side and kicked him in what may have been his stomach. But instead was left clutching his leg in pain. Before getting backhanded again knocking him to the ground. Freddy quickly rose and began to swing his glove repeatedly clawing the Scarebeast here and there. But still the Scarebeast carried on like nothing happened. Getting desperate now Freddy swung more rapidly until the Scarebeast grabbed his arm and ripped it off. Practically helpless now the Scarebeast pinned Freddy up against the wall and uttered a chilling warning
Scarebeast: “Your in my world now.”
Freddys vision began to deteriorate and when his vision cleared up he was inside a classroom. Surrounded by kids all chanting the same familiar chant.
“Son of 1000 maniacs!” “Son of 1000 maniacs” “Son of 1000 maniacs”
Enraged Freddy began to claw at whatever kids he could grab but no matter how many he cut down many more still remained. Overwhelmed he backed away and walked straight into his foes hands. Grabbing his scythe he once again embedded it into his foe's chest before launching him straight up into the air. He began to spin his scythe around rapidly almost like a helicopter trying to take off. And when Freddy fell back down the scythe turned him into nothing but mincemeat. The springwood slasher was dead. And the Scarebeast let out a victorious roar.
On the ground Freddy's decapitated head remained. Looking at the audience he gives a sly wink. Only for his head to be completely crushed by the Scarebeast moments later.

Results[]
Deadpool: “Wait what. Oh hell no this whole fight reeks of DC bias.”
Now hold on hold on. I promise there's a good explanation. I know a lot of you were hoping for a DC loss here and at first glance it honestly did look like Freddy was completely out of Scarecrows league.
Deadpool: “That's one way of putting it. I mean the guy is practically a god inside the dream realm. Tell me how Dorothys stupid friend could keep up with that.”
And I’d be happy too. Well inside the dream world Freddy did give Scarecrow a hard time. After all he's basically limitless versatility and regenerative ability meant that he could counter just about everything Scarecrow could do and Scarecrow couldn’t really do much to him in the dream realm. But the thing is Freddy couldn’t actually do a whole lot to Scarecrow either. Remember in order for Freddy to actually harm and impact Scarecrow he had to ensure that Scarecrow actually feared him. But unfortunately for Freddy Scarecrow was just one of the few people that could actually resist his powers. For one thing Scarecrow himself is almost immune to fear due to constant exposure to his own fear toxin. And my evidence for this doesn’t just come from a one handed statement from a comic. See during this time Earth was under attack by the Black Lanterns. Basically an army of space zombies who instead of feasting on brains feed on raw emotion due to their connection to the lantern rings and the emotional spectrum. But no matter how hard they tried they could not get crane to feel any source of fear. Of course however Crane is afraid of just one thing. The Batman. Now see here's where things start to get tricky. Many times in Freddys...career he has been stopped from interacting with his victim due to their control over their fear. And while Freddy may have employed fear as a weapon for Scarecrow it's a way of life.

Shut up and let me do my job. Anyways, Scarecrow has had plenty of dealings with fear including his Phd and his very own Fear Toxin. Which was basically just a mini dream world in a can. In fact the glaring similarities between their powers meant that the chances of Scarecrow figuring out the secret to Freddy's powers were actually quite high. Add that to Scarecrow's greater intelligence and experience and you have a pretty nice formula of disaster for Freddy.
Remember that this weakness has actually been found out and exploited by normal regular teenage kids who are nowhere near as smart or have as much experience as Scarecrow. And if you’re still skeptic there's actually quite a bit of evidence to support this. Remember back to the first nightmare. When Nancy, the original final girl of the Nightmare series, turned her back to Freddy facing her fears he tried attacking her and ended up disappearing into blue nothing instead.
But in any case even though Scarecrow could resist Freddy in the dream world he still didn’t have a way to deal any lasting damage. So he had to actually get Freddy into the realworld to do so. Keep in mind that while technically Scarecrow wouldn’t technically be aware of this fact given how Freddy didn’t have a way to kill Scarecrow,Scarecrow's fighting style was somewhat up close and that this weakness is constantly exploited by regular teenagers the chances were still pretty decent. And once that happened that's where things start to point towards the other way. For one thing Scarecrow was definitely more skilled having trained in martial arts and being comparable to Bane in his Scarebeast form meant he had one hell of a strength advantage. Hell even without it he was able to go against the likes of Batman and Catwoman. Two humans at peak human condition. Freddy might have been a strong foe but even with his dream powers had no real showings of impressive strength.
Popup: Also keep in mind that Scarecrows Strength and skill advantages remained even while in the dream world. And that Freddy has been bested by foes of inferior strength and skill than Scarecrow many times.
While Freddys’ experience against the likes of Jason and Ash suggest he could keep up with the Scarebeast Freddy's attacks did hardly any damage to Jason and relied more on outsmarting and outmaneuvering him rather than overpowering him and Ash himself might be a formidable foe but has never showcased the skills similar to the martial arts training Scarecrow had. Freddy was still technically faster though but Freddy still needed to get up close to damage him and while he would most likely outmaneuver him like he did with Jason he surprisingly had no defense against Scarecrow's Fear toxin. Though to be fair in a similar matter to how Scarecrow could resist Freddy's dream powers he could reasonably resist Scarecrow's fear toxin. But even so when we consider their durability levels it would have taken more than just a few stray hits to take it down. To be fair while Freddy still did have a good healing factor, he was still killed by a homemade pipe bomb and unlike Scarecrow when human Freddy gets stabbed it hurts.
Popup: Even in the dream world Freddy is still just a normal human with incredible durability and regenerative abilities and most of his threats come from him manipulating and affecting the dream realm rather than in actual hand to hand combat.
Overall while Freddy was a powerful foe and against almost anyone else his immortality in the dream world most likely would have given him an easy victory. But Scarecrow's greater experience with fear,emotional turmoil,intelligence and skill gave him a hard fought victory.
