Battle of the Fire Shadows! The Four Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village are revered and respected for their contributions to making the world a better place, even when they died defending it, these four will put their lives on the line in this heated battle!

Four Hokage Battle Royale is the 23rd episode of DEATH BATTLE! by Shadow7615, featuring Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi and Minato Namikaze from the Naruto series in a battle to determine the strongest Hokage.

Interlude[]

Wiz: Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen and Minato, as the Hokage, these four have proven themselves to be the strongest ninjas of their time, and rightfully so.

Boomstick: These guys played it smart, and knew that defending their village was their greatest responsibility.

Wiz: While their combined efforts during the Fourth Great Ninja War helped aid the Shinobi Alliance to victory, how would these four fare against each other when they were all alive?

Boomstick: Yeah, this means no zombie resurrection jutsu or anything like that, we'll be pitting these four against each other in their prime as Hokage, with that out of the way, He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Hashirama[]

Wiz: The Warring States Period of history was a time when all ninja, regardless of what part of the land they belonged to, engaged in fierce battles all over the world, and the Senju and Uchiha clans were the most powerful among them.

Boomstick: This included Hashirama Senju, a boy with a serious drive for not letting kids fight in the war, cause what else would you want to do when your own two brothers are killed because of it?

Wiz: After meeting a boy his age named Madara, Hashirama would end up fighting Madara many times in combat, refusing to kill the man he called friend, after the death of Madara's brother Izuna, and Madara's near-death by Tobirama, Hashirama decided they should create a village where ninja from all over the world could live in peace.

Boomstick: And sure enough, just like that, the Uchiha clan agreed, and the Hidden Leaf Village was formed, and Hashirama became their First Hokage, where he actually managed to have peace for quite a time.

Wiz: Naturally as the Hokage, Hashirama is exceptionally powerful, though one of his most powerful abilities is his regenerative ability since his cells seem to possess a unique type of healing factor, letting him survive and heal from any kind of damage, except for limb loss.

Boomstick: Thankfully the Senju clan were smart, and Hashirama was trained in Ninjutsu, he can summon multiple Rashōmon gates to protect himself from nearly any attack, use barrier ninjutsu advanced enough to subdue the Ten-Tails and packs enough weapons to unleash a barrage of shurikens in a matter of seconds.

Wiz: Hashirama is also a practised hand in the five traditional nature transformations, Fire, Water, Lightning, Wind and Earth, however, he is also noted for his Yin and Yang release techniques as well, but his most famous, and more favourable techniques are his Wood Style, which was not only his ability alone, but if anyone tried to replicate it, theirs would not reach Hashirama's levels.

Boomstick: You know, I never considered Wood to be all that useful until I looked at some of the things Hashirama can use with it, he can create wood clones of himself, launch wood dragons, create wood golems and even a fucking Wooden Buddha with a thousand arms.

Wiz: Well, not exactly Buddha, but are you correct, the True Thousand Hands Technique is one of Hashirama's most powerful moves, even requiring the use of Sage Mode to use its maximum potential, which was strong enough to defeat Madara's Nine-Tails merged with his Susanoo

Boomstick: With all the ways Hashirama can use wood, you'd have to wonder what else he can do? As mentioned before, Hashirama can enter Sage Mode, allowing him to use the Natural Energy of the world around him, the only downside is that Sage Mode energy can't be restored until after all of it has been used up, making Sage Mode a limited time power-up.

Wiz: Though Hashirama has trained himself to be able to enter Sage Mode with almost no preparation time required, a rarity among Sage Mode users, and only other well-trained users like Naruto Uzumaki and Jiraiya.

Boomstick: Plus, as it turns out, Hashirama is actually the first known reincarnation of Asura, no not THAT Asura, as Asura's chakra carries over from each reincarnation to the next, Hashirama received his chakra, which explains why Hashirama is able to do so much stuff like this that would otherwise make him overpowered.

Wiz: Even without Chakra, Hashirama is still a practised hand in traditional combat, his taijutsu, or free-hand martial arts, is refined enough to the point where he can battle other experts like Madara, and even his future successor, Hiruzen Sarutobi, plus he's even defeated Kakuzu, a future member of the Akatsuki.

Boomstick: Praised as a God of Shinobi, Hashirama is without question an extraordinarily powerful guy, he's won countless battles during the Warring States Wars, His chakra control is advanced enough to perform various complex and large-scale techniques with only one to no hand seal at all and he can last for twenty-four hours of combat thanks to his chakra.

Wiz: And most significantly, using his Sage Mode and his True-Thousand Hands Tech-

Boomstick: The Wooden Buddha, Wiz, let's just make it easier to understand.

Wiz: ....Using the Wooden Buddha and his Sage Mode, Hashirama successfully defeated Madara and managed to impale him after wearing down his chakra and defences, granted, Hashirama had to use his most powerful technique to defeat him.

Boomstick: You think that being praised as a God of all ninjas would make you seem invincible right? WRONG! Hashirama is far from flawless, while a reincarnation and owner of the wood techniques, a hero of prophecy has to fall eventually, and sure enough, he did...

Wiz: ...Wow Boomstick, that's quite well said...

Boomstick: Like a true ninja and because war never seems to end in this place, Hashirama lost his life in battle fighting for the Leaf Village, where he would be remembered for the legacy he had left behind, as well as having his face carved into the Hokage Monument as a reminder of the village he created.

Wiz: While Hashirama had died, the Hokage did not, and it was passed along from the First Hokage to the Second Hokage.

Hashirama: No matter what happens I will protect our… no my village. I still believe that protecting the village is the best way to protect people, shinobi, and children…! Anyone who tries to harm it, whether they are my friends, siblings or my own children… I won't forgive them...

Tobirama[]

Boomstick: Man, there must be some real favouritism in the Senju family.

Wiz: Well, that aside, Tobirama still well and truly qualified for the position of Hokage, having grown up during the Warring States Period, Tobirama experienced many of the same battles as Hashirama himself, however, unlike his older brother, Tobirama was not nearly as soft an individual.

Boomstick: Tobirama continually kept an eye on his brother and learned he became friends with an Uchiha, but then their dad was like "It's gonna be a trap" and from there, the Senju and Uchiha were enemies for at least a decade.

Wiz: Tobirama ultimately set an example when he defeated Izuna Uchiha and left him to die, which only provoked Madara's wrath even more, but Tobirama managed to almost kill him too, but Hashirama's sincerity and wishes stopped Tobirama from killing him.

Boomstick: Then you know what happened, the Uchiha and Senju clans formed the Hidden Leaf Village, Hashirama became Hokage and peace was had for many years.

Wiz: However, even when during this peace, Tobirama remained diligent, knowing that the biggest threat to the village was the Uchiha, specifically Madara himself, and sure enough, he was right.

Boomstick: After Madara's apparent death, Tobirama took his body and studied the Sharingan, where he used his time to learn new techniques and create new ones himself, and as time went on, Hashirama eventually stepped down from the Hokage position, which is where Tobirama took over.

Wiz: As is expected of the Hokage, Tobirama is one of the most powerful ninjas in the Hidden Leaf, and his power and realistic approach to everything garnered him respect, even his future successors acknowledged him as one of the most powerful ninjas the Leaf had ever seen.

Boomstick: As a Senju, Tobirama was skilled in different ninjutsu forms, including summoning Jutsu, barrier Jutsu, and so on.

Wiz: Since childhood, Tobirama was a gifted sensor, By touching the ground with his finger, he could accurately detect the presence and location of targets in the surrounding area. He could even sense others from countries away, identify a target's clan from their chakra, and was even pinpoint one's exact location while blinded.

Boomstick: But where Tobirama performed best was with his Jutsu, Tobirama was able to use all five basic nature transformations, along with Yin and Yang Release, however, he was undeniably the most powerful Water Style user in the entire world.

Wiz: He could create vast quantities of water without a water source, He could shoot from his mouth high-pressured streams to slice through targets or as needle-shaped projectiles. He also creates defensive walls or large water dragons.

Boomstick: Using his original technique, the Flying Thunder God Technique, he could instantly teleport himself and/or other targets to any location marked with his seal, Minato was the only other Hokage who learned this technique to Tobirama's level.

Wiz: However, Tobirama isn't one to flee when it takes his fancy, he strikes only when he's confident of success and without any thought of mercy, According to Madara, Tobirama was known for launching surprise attacks on opponents who think they've won and have let their guard down.

Boomstick: In short, don't think you've won until you have actually confirmed your kills, Tobirama pays careful attention to every aspect of a battle, analysing opponents' strategies and techniques to discern their purpose, mechanics, and ultimately their weaknesses.

Wiz: With these accolades, Tobirama has achieved much himself, he is skilled enough to battle and best other war experienced ninjas, his Water Jutsu was praised and revered even after his death, he survived a battle against the Gold and Silver Brothers and in the entire Naruto series, Tobirama is the only Hokage to have ever killed an Uchiha.

Boomstick: But, Tobirama isn't nearly as faultless, that and he could be too far-sighted and ruthlessly pragmatic at times.

Wiz: This pragmatic view was a result of Tobirama believing both Hashirama and Madara's extreme personalities were necessary components to being Hokage. Hashirama was too soft, whereas Madara was too ruthless, he tried to find a balance between.

Boomstick: Though in a similar case with his brother, during the First Great Ninja War, Tobirama sacrificed himself to ensure his students wouldn't be killed.

Wiz: Tobirama was still noble and had pride in him, just before his death, Tobirama chose his successor in the very battle that ended his life, thus the Hokage carried over from Second to Third.

Tobirama: My brother believed that the village was something that demolished the boundaries between clans. Well, in the end, it wasn't that simple… My brother was too soft… and Madara too dangerous… My role as Second Hokage was to mediate between them while protecting and reinforcing the village.

Sarutobi[]

Wiz: Once the Hidden Leaf Village was established, ninja teams began to be formed, and Tobirama formed a teamed of students he would train himself, one of these students was Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Boomstick: The young Sarutobi was the son of another famous ninja, and like his father, Hiruzen wanted to live up to that expectation, and as he grew up, he actually started proving that quite a bit actually.

Wiz: Earning his rightful place in Team Tobirama, Hiruzen trained with the Second Hokage and displayed prodigious talent in the ninja arts, earning him additional training from Hashirama himself before his death.

Boomstick: Though as is the life of a ninja, Hiruzen too had to watch the death of his master happen almost right in front of him, Tobirama was like "I'm gonna appoint you my successor, you look like you can do the job".

Wiz: And to his surprise, Hiruzen was elected the Third Hokage, and he had to take on so much responsibility with such short notice, but Hiruzen adapted to this well, not only becoming a renowned Hokage but also making the Hidden Leaf Village more allied around the world.

Boomstick: Hiruzen was no slouch either, he's fought in both the Second and Third Great Ninja Wars, even being acknowledged as the God of Shinobi as Hashirama himself once was, thankfully that didn't get the family favouritism.

Wiz: Hiruzen was said to have immense chakra reserves in his youth, and even in his old age, his chakra was strong enough to crack stone, sometimes, Hiruzen could lay explosive tags without his opponents' noticing.

Boomstick: Hiruzen was renowned as The Professor thanks to his mastery of all forms of shinobi combat, largely in part to his combat experience, he can even identify what moves his opponent will use just by looking at the hand moves.

Wiz: Even when he encountered something new, he could discern their attributes and limitations from only brief observation, he was one of the few individuals who learned how to perform, and was proficient in all five basic nature transformations. He could also use Yin and Yang Release too.

Boomstick: He can create a stream of fire and a protective wall of mud, he can create a river of mud to unbalance an opponent and even flaming projectiles from some kind of dragon head, expel a flame breath to augment it, and fire smaller blasts of flames as well.

Wiz: He's not limited to these techniques and is capable of more, He even learned the rarely seen Dead Demon Consuming Seal, a technique that lets him seal the souls of multiple targets, thus delaying the sealing of his soul.

Boomstick: That's some spooky stuff right there Wiz, you don't think he's suddenly gonna turn into the Grim Reaper, do you? Just look at his ninja clothes if you don't believe me, though since he carries a staff and not a scythe, I think I’m safe.

Wiz: But why would you...? Well anyway, as Boomstick was saying, Hiruzen wields an extending and expanding staff, which is a form of his summon, the monkey king Enma, through a transformation technique, it can shift between its staff form and it's monkey form though Enma can still move on his own in the staff form, allowing him to return to Hiruzen.

Boomstick: Enma can even clone himself in his staff form, turning him into any number of smaller staffs, Hiruzen frequently used shuriken in combat, both the standard size and the larger ones, By using the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique he could create copies of them, and allow him to bombard a target with thousands of projectiles without needing to hold all that at once.

Wiz: Enma can manifest parts of his body from the staff transformation, attacking with claws or fangs to take opponents by surprise, which comes in handy as is a nice surprise in the middle of combat.

Boomstick: Though while I personally won't be hiding behind any monkey poles, Hiruzen is still a guy you wouldn't expect could kick your ass, not only has he fought in TWO Great Ninja Wars in his life, which by the way surpasses all the other Hokage's wartime, but he's also a really good teacher.

Wiz: Hiruzen became the teacher of three more noted individuals, Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru, who would become the Legendary Sannin.

Boomstick: So... Perverted Sage, Lady with some big assets and Anime Voldemort? Gotcha, but despite his best wishes, Hiruzen couldn't get Orochimaru to become Hokage, which actually saddened him a bit.

Wiz: But despite his pupil not being able to become Hokage, Hiruzen still managed to find his successor, he saw some of Tobirama in him, and figured he would make a perfect Fourth Hokage.

Boomstick: Even though Hiruzen didn't die for quite a while after his time as Hokage came to end, that wouldn't be the last of it for good.

Sarutobi: You only get one life. There's no need to choose an impossible path. It's fine to live as long as you like and die. However… protecting a precious person… you must not forget this no matter what path you choose.

Minato[]

Wiz: As the Hidden Leaf continued its prosperity, it continued to turn out more and more successful ninja and overtime, perfect candidates for wartime.

Boomstick: Since the war was unavoidable, Hiruzen employed the Chunin Exams in order to determine who would prove themselves to be a good choice, and many good ninjas turned out, Minato Namikaze was one of these successful students.

Wiz: As one the only known individuals from the Namikaze clan, Minato proved himself a prodigy, and potentially even the Child of Prophecy, as his master, Jiraiya had begun to foresee, and Minato managed to live up to his prodigious talent.

Boomstick: The one day, one of his classmates, who just so happened to be the one girl he liked, got kidnapped by some assholes, so Minato went solo and rescued her with no issues.

Wiz: Afterward, Minato not only found his life partner, but he had also begun to start developing new Jutsu, his trademark technique, the Rasengan, which took him 3 years to fully develop.

Boomstick: Minato is a genius, he had the highest scores in the history of the Academy, and he possessed a great amount of knowledge, thanks to his tutelage from Tobirama, who taught him the best teleportation technique in the ninja work, and he also learned the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, which he likely learned from Hiruzen.

Wiz: The Flying Thunder God is Minato's second trademark technique, having mastered it well beyond Tobirama's level, he can instantly move to the location of anything marked with his special seal, whether a tool, place, or person that was branded, this allowed Minato to use it as both an offensive technique and defensive option in combat.

Boomstick: He can even use his Rasengan as soon as he teleports to a location of choice, making the technique all the more lethal, Minato had his own special brand of kunai for combat; triple-prong kunai for better offensive potential.

Wiz: He carries a large number of kunai in the field that he can scatter across a wide area so that he can move around with more options, his kunai also acts as a place he can teleport to with his Flying Thunder God Technique, allowing him to teleport anywhere his kunai can take him.

Boomstick: If I had that kind of stuff, I would probably keep one on the couch, one by the fridge and another for the booze stash I keep hidden.

Wiz: The kunai are Minato's best piece of equipment, and he will have some on him in the event of an attack on the village, where he would need to act on a moment's notice, like the time when the Masked Man removed the Nine-Tails from his wife's body and sent it on a rampage on the Leaf Village.

Boomstick: After defeating the Masked Man and stopping the Nine-Tails, Minato utilized his expertise of sealing to seal one half of the Nine-Tails into his son, and the other half into himself.

Wiz: This allowed Minato to access the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki mode, as it was once sealed inside Kushina, Kurama and Minato bonded almost immediately, allowing Minato access to the powers of a Jinchuriki.

Boomstick: He can use chakra arms of the beast itself, enter Tailed Beast Mode, create Tailed Beast Balls, hehe, and perform stronger versions of his usual techniques, and he can go even faster than he was before, while his Tailed Beast Mode has a time limit, it's one hell of a ride to his opponents.

Wiz: Minato's large chakra reserves enabled him to learn Sage Mode, as he was Jiraiya's star pupil, he naturally learned from the Toads of Mount Myōboku, though while he didn't use this technique when he was alive, he still learned how to use it regardless, granting him access to natural energy and enhancements all around.

Boomstick: With all this power, it almost makes Minato sound untouchable, he has pulled off some impressive feats, Minato reacted to A's top speed attack in time to teleport out of the way twice defeating him in the process, fast enough to outpace all the other Hokage, strong enough to carve mountains with his Rasengan and tough enough to go toe-to-toe with the broken and empowered former pupil, Obito.

Wiz: Plus Minato learned several former Hokage's techniques, Hashirama's Four Violent Flames Battle Formation, Tobirama's Flying Thunder God Technique and Hiruzen's Reaper Death Seal, almost making him a collective embodiment of all the past Hokage.

Boomstick: Plus as a reward for doing a great job in the Third Great Ninja War, he was chosen for Hokage, becoming the Hidden Leaf's Fourth Hokage and leading his own team of students, through which his moniker of Konoha's Yellow Flash made him known around the well.

Wiz: Though for the feats he's accomplished, Minato can't always walk off the battle a winner, despite his impressive record and prodigious talent, he's still got a couple of setbacks, notably, his Sage Mode, while mastered, isn't something Minato has fully learned to incorporate into battle aside from enhancing his Rasengan with Sage Chakra.

Boomstick: Plus for some reason, he thought it'd be a good idea to seal a Demon Fox in his son, just after he was born. Because that'll have NO repercussions at ALL...

Wiz: Well, Minato didn't do it out of haste or spite, he did it because he couldn't bear the entire power of the Nine-Tails on his own, and knew that Naruto could hold the other half himself, besides, Naruto used that power to save the world.

Boomstick: Yeah, it sure took a while for it to happen though, but I won't argue with a guy that can be practically anywhere he wants at any time while fighting you at the same time.

Minato: Those who stray from the path of justice have no courage, but under the wing of a strong leader, cowardice cannot survive.

DEATH BATTLE![]

Orochimaru's Lab

Following his failure to replicate man as machine, the dreaded Sannin member, Orochimaru descended upon his lab again, it felt like days... months even, since anyone had last seen the man, whatever possessed him to disconnect from the rest of the world could only have been something as critical as a plan of his going south, all the same, Orochimaru did not show his face to anyone, with no recollection of his past failure, there was no detectable trace to be found.

As the days and nights passed, Orochimaru's lab was ever so busy, naturally, Orochimaru was up to something of an unnatural and unlawful nature, as it was his sick twisted mind's intention, experiments was his game, and it was his trade, and whatever he was cooking up this time was something well beyond trying to make a machine in an era where technology is lacking, or trying to turn his unwilling subjects into monsters, it seemed as if this next experiment was going to exceed all he had done before, and his noted absence left that distinct impression.

As Orochimaru's experiment continued development, he continuously experimented, looking for all possible options he could use, consulting ancient and old scrolls outlining forbidden Jutsu and techniques that were reserved only for the gods of men, Orochimaru had plenty of material to work with, he especially took note of material utilized by The Second and Third Hokage respectively, deriving what he desired from what had been written down, sealed away, or faded into obscurity, but eventually, Orochimaru had finally figured out how to execute this newest experiment of his.

He laid out four white humanoid bodies on the ground, all laying spread eagle on the ground, the four bodies had no features to distinguish themselves from any of the others, they were completely identical in every form and shape, but yet Orochimaru had laid them out perfectly and precisely as if all four of them were somehow distinguishable from one another, Orochimaru then performed a series of hand seals, somewhere near twenty-four hand seals before finally placing his hand on the ground, where suddenly, black sharp lines started emitting from his beneath his palm, the lines directed themselves towards the third body, where they quickly latched onto the body, as if igniting a flame inside the body, it begun to shake and stir...

Suddenly, the body gained movement of its limbs, and they shook uncontrollably, as if it was being controlled, the body slowly got onto its knees as the body began to be submerged by the black emanating lines, as the black energy-like presence continued, the body in desperation stood on its feet, hands spread outward as the head looked vertically up, finally as the whole body was consumed by the black energy, a voice was heard, and it was screaming! "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" the voice was muffled, but the voice became clear before the darkness faded, revealing the body of a man, and not just any man, but the only person in the world Orochimaru could call, "Sensei, welcome back to the world"

The man turned around, revealing himself to be the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, he was shocked to see his pupil, his killer standing before him, instinctually, he stood in a defensive ninja pose, "What is the meaning of this, Orochimaru?" Orochimaru did not change his posture but simply gestured and greeted his old master, "Sensei, I simply want to bring Senseis and Students together for a reunion of sorts, let you experience the same thrills I am experiencing myself."

Orochimaru then performed the jutsu once again, black lines escaped from his hands, this time, they attached to the body on Hiruzen's left, much like the body before it, the body began to breathe life as it started moving, but instead of dark energy, the body glowed with a yellow aura as the body was covered entirely in the yellow aura, a small pattern formed around the aura before it faded, revealing another man, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, he momentarily dropped onto his knee as Hiruzen quickly came over to his side, "Lord Third!" Minato was surprised to see Hiruzen in this place, he then quickly noticed Orochimaru, and wondered why the two were here, "Ah, Minato, welcome" Orochimaru extended his welcome to Minato too.

Hiruzen and Minato took a moment to look at themselves, they seemed relatively normal, nothing seemed out of the normal here, "Now Sensei, allow me to welcome our next guest" Hiruzen activated the Jutsu, the process was relatively the same as before, but as this body felt the embrace of life enter it, it glowed blue, and it seemed to have a vibe of water about it, as if an ocean was standing right next to them, as the blue encompassed the body on Hiruzen's right, after the blue water-like aura cleared off, the man was none other than the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen was almost speechless, he couldn't believe his eyes, it was REALLY his sensei, the very man who had trained him and chose him to become Hokage!

"Sensei..." Tobirama heard the familiar voice and looked to his right to see both Hiruzen and Minato looking at him, Tobirama looked on in surprise and a slight level of irritation as he gazed his eye on Orochimaru, "Is this the Reanimation Jutsu? it feels eerily similar..." Tobirama's suspicion had him keep a constant eye on Orochimaru, "Well, it's not exactly your Reanimation Jutsu, Tobirama, however, this new technique uses similar aspects, but rather than a reanimation, it restores the person to life."

Tobirama did not move, he simply inspected his body, wanting to assure Orochimaru's words were not forged to deceive him, or trick him into believing he was alive and well, and it appeared Orochimaru's claims checked out, finally Orochimaru cast the final Jutsu, as a red aura surrounded the last body before being fully restored to the legendary First Hokage, Hashirama Senju.

"Brother!" Tobirama saw his brother right beside him, Hashirama smiled, seeing his brother for the first time in ages, as well as seeing his late pupil Hiruzen, and Minato just behind him, the Four Hokage had been reunited, they all suddenly dropped onto their knees, Tobirama angrily looked up at Orochimaru, "I knew you were up to something, normally I could free myself from the control of the Reanimation Jutsu, but this is a new Jutsu entirely!"

Orochimaru watched on as all the Four Hokage struggled to stand up, each of them looking at him in confusion, anger, shock and worry, "Now, for the reason you were all brought back, to see who is truly the strongest Hokage, that question remains unanswered until today!" Orochimaru suppressed the collective resistance from the Hokage as he subconsciously commanded them all to take their impending battle to a location of Orochimaru's choosing.

Great Ninja War Battlefield

Minato arrived first, shortly before the rest of the Hokage and Orochimaru, the Battlefield was not as ravaged as it was once believed to be, it was ever unchanging, a grey stretch of land would play home to their battle, with the occasion rock formation decorating the blank slate of a battlefield this was.

The Four Hokage stood opposite each other like the four corners of a square, none of them were rushing in for a first attack, instead, all of them refused to make a move, Orochimaru then pulled the metaphorical puppet strings on the Four Hokage, compressing their personalities and making them more instinctual and more willing to fight, "Now Hokage, your fight to the death starts now!"

If his words were some kind of siren or starting gun, Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen and Minato all gave each other a solid dead on glare before all of them began to run at each other, none of them backing down, none of them holding back, and no doubts going into the opening attack!

(Cue Departing to the Front Lines - Naruto Shippūden)

FIGHT!

As the Four Hokage ran at each other, they collectively threw out their respective right arms, all four punching each other's fist, leaving a shockwave, Tobirama was the first to act, he quickly leapt over the centre point of the fight and a kunai at the ready he went for a direct throw at Hiruzen, the Third Hokage responded by pulling out his staff, and using it to bat away the kunai, though Tobirama was then quickly in front of him, Tobirama engaged in close quarters taijutsu with his student.

Simultaneously, Minato jumped into the air a great height, he grabbed a good number of his special kunai and threw them all spread out across the battlefield, though beneath him was Hashirama, who used a Wood Dragon to raise himself into the air, with Minato in his range, a thin log extended from the Dragon as it attempted to strike Minato, however, the Fourth Hokage disappeared without a trace, Hashirama's attack missed as he turned around he saw Minato on the ground, near Tobirama and Sarutobi, some of Minato's special kunai were planted near Hiruzen and Tobirama.

Hashirama quickly turned his dragon around and set his sights on Minato once again, back down on the ground, Tobirama continued to cross fists and feet with his pupil, Hiruzen employed his staff whenever Tobirama came too close, making close quarters a nightmare in itself, Tobirama began using his kunai and shuriken's on hand, jumping into the air and throwing them at Hiruzen, naturally, Hiruzen batted them away with his staff, but mere moments later, Tobirama teleported behind Hiruzen and delivered a slash of his kunai to Hiruzen's back, the red taint of blood rushed out of Hiruzen's wound, the Third Hokage finally caught onto Tobirama's teleportation and the staff, moving on its own, slammed onto Tobirama with such force it almost knocked off Tobirama's helmet, the two then delivered more melee-oriented attacks, hitting one another with the brunt of their might.

Minato took a quick moment to observe his surroundings before Hashirama finally caught up with him, Minato quickly charged a Rasengan and then dashed forward at Hashirama, but the First Hokage quickly evaded using a Wooden Clone, the real Hashirama was above them both, looking down at the Fourth Hokage, a thought entered Hashirama's mind "That technique, I've not seen anything like it before, it feels like it's affinity lies with wind chakra..." as Hashirama momentarily studied the information presented to him, he saw Minato disappear once again, before he can react, Minato is right above him, with a charged Rasengan, before Hashirama can put up a solid defence, the force of the Rasengan pushed Hashirama directly on the ground, branding him with the mark of Minato's Flying Thunder God, Minato quickly teleported towards the kunai nearest Tobirama and Hiruzen, the Fourth Hokage then used his speed to quickly run by and tag both Hiruzen and Tobirama, but the Second Hokage smiled before he quickly jumped back and noticed he had been marked by Minato, "Well, looks like he's mastered the Flying Thunder God technique much greater than I did." Tobirama took some joy in this, acknowledging Minato's mastery as fact.

Hiruzen then performed a series of hand seals before unleashed a sea of flames from his mouth, aiming directly at his three opponents, Minato teleported to the kunai furthest away from him, Hashirama used a Wooden Dragon to ascend further into the air to help avoid the flames however Tobirama quickly performed a series of hand seals "Water Dragon Bullet Technique!" Tobirama shaped a large amount of water into a giant, powerful dragon, which then roared as it travelled directly into Hiruzen's flames, extinguishing them, not only putting them out, but also meeting Hiruzen head-on, the Third Hokage braced himself as the dragon approached, but before it did, Hiruzen prepared a defensive measure, "Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!" before Tobirama's dragon reached him, the earth in front of Hiruzen rose, forming a solid wall of earth, the head of the Water Dragon crashed into the wall, however, the water simply cascaded along the sides of the wall, rather than crashing through it, Tobirama expected no less from his student, Tobirama landed on the ground as he noticed Minato and Hashirama as well.

(Cue Most Wondrous Battle Music Ever: Dragon Rises)

Hashirama then put his hands together, forming a series of hand seals before stretching his arms outward, "Nativity of a World of Trees!" suddenly, the earth began to shake and almost crumble, as an earthquake was happening, and they were at the epicentre, suddenly, tree roots began to rise from the crumbled earth as they started forming quickly, the three other Hokage were suddenly swept up as the very battlefield had begun to alter entirely, the roots begun to take shape, and the very trees themselves begun to form, transforming the barren battlefield into a lush forest, Hashirama then landed in the centre of the forest as the remaining Hokage all took to the branches, in true ninja fashion.

Hashirama looked around to find his opponent, suddenly, a stream of fire shot directly at him, and Hashirama quickly evaded, from the shadows of the tree was Hiruzen, the two Hokage met in the patch of space free of trees, Hiruzen pulled out his staff once again, engaging the First Hokage, who was ready for his assault, using his elaborate series of moves with his staff, he kept Hashirama's punches and kicks from reaching him while also using his staff for extra range, striking Hashirama sides where he couldn't defend during his punches and kicks, Hashirama quickly summoned another tree root, this time, aiming to coil Hiruzen in his tracks, but Hiruzen quickly responded with an attack of his own "Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet" Hiruzen released another stream that scorched Hashirama's roots into a crisp, Hiruzen's flames extended past the tree root and started igniting a fire in the entire forest.

In the thickness of the forest, Minato and Tobirama clashed with each other at a blinding speed, jumping from branch to branch, tree to tree at blinding speeds, clashing kunai with each other, amongst the clashes Tobirama thought to himself "He's easily matching my speeds, the Flying Thunder God Technique works well with him." Minato then appeared by Tobirama's side and delivered a kick to Tobirama's side, the Second Hokage slipped off the tree branch that collapsed from that attack, however, Tobirama quickly teleported away, and Minato soon after, as the two landed on opposing tree branches, the two looked each other in the eyes, suddenly, the flame that Hiruzen spread had begun to burn more of the forest, Tobirama and Minato, quickly moved towards to that location while also clashing kunai once again, Hashirama performed the jutsu again, attempting to strengthen his trees, Hiruzen's flames burned hotter, and was burning the trees at their roots before they could rise.

Tobirama teleported to the tree branch where he could see the action going down, Tobirama then peformed his Water Dragon jutsu once again, aiming straight at the spreading flames as the water dragon descended upon the flames, a massive cloud of extinguished smoke filled the patch of free forest pace, Hashirama and Hiruzen weren't able to see clearly, so they both jumped out of the smoke, Minato teleported to a nearby kunai, away from the smoke, taking a moment to catch his breath, Minato quickly rushed back into the sight of the smoke, with his kunai ready in case he needed to escape, suddenly the smoke was forcibly cleared as Hiruzen descended upon Minato, unleashing a series of mud balls at him, Minato avoided the mud balls and charged a Rasengan, before Hiruzen's mud could trap Minato, he teleported to one of his kunai, with his Rasengan still charging, with the smoke clearing Hashirama finally jumped back into the battle, this time, he started forming more tree roots in the open patch, finally closing up the space, and turning the battlefield into a complete forest.

Tobirama, spying on his brother, as was his past nature, quickly jumped at his brother where he landed an attack from Hashirama's blind spot, Hashirama was almost shocked for a moment, but he and his brother battled each other, Tobirama unleashed a massive torrent of water, attempting to drown the forest and oversaturate it, Hiruzen then reigned down mud balls on the two and Minato dropped a Level 2 Rasengan as well, the first two Hokage narrowly avoid the massive barrage, Hashirama used a sudden tree root to knock Minato back, Hashirama quickly followed him, Hiruzen saw the two Hokage in pursuit of each other, he jumped and then unleashed a large expanding flame in their general direction, the trees caught on fire, and it begun spreading, Tobirama quickly met Hiruzen in the air, the two grappled each other, Hiruzen lands a solid kick to Tobirama's chest, knocking him onto the ground hard, Hiruzen lands on the ground as well.

Tobirama began to pant for air, Hiruzen's breathing also became heavier, the battle seemed like it has gone on for ages, and the very atmosphere different from before, but the two persisted, Hiruzen unleashed a powerful stream of fire at Tobirama, to which the Second Hokage performed a water jutsu to the same calibre, creating another thick cloud of smoke covering them both, Hiruzen remained stationary, waiting for the slightest movement from Tobirama, a bunch of kunai travelled straight for Hiruzen's face, Hiruzen casually sidestepped all of them, but as he evaded them Tobirama was right in front of him, Tobirama then dashed right past him, delivering a swift, devastating slash with a now revealed sword, directly slashing Hiruzen's chest, "Flying Thunder God Slash" Hiruzen suddenly coughed blood, staggering in his movement, before he could jump away, Tobirama quickly stabbed him in the chest with a spare kunai, "Saru... I'm sorry... please forgive me..." Tobirama thrust the kunai further into Hiruzen's chest before finally piercing the heart, Tobirama then ripped the kunai from Hiruzen's chest, the Third Hokage dropped back onto the ground, looking up at the sky above him, Tobirama leaves Hiruzen to die peacefully, as his student had rightfully deserved.

(Cue Most Wondrous Battle Music Ever: Rise Of The Immortals)

Outside the forest, Hashirama and Minato were locked in combat, trading kunai and jutsu by the second, with a speed advantage, Minato landed punches and kicks more frequently thank Hashirama did, though the First Hokage quickly unleashed several gigantic wooden hands that erupted upward from beneath the ground, which encircled and attempt to restrain Minato, however, the Fourth Hokage teleported and avoided the hands altogether, Minato then unleashed a standard Fire Ball Jutsu, one of the Wooden Hands caught the fireball without issue, but the wood began to incinerate, Minato quickly unleashed another barrage of fireballs, much like he saw his student perform, pelting the Wooden Hands with enough fire to reduce the wood to ash.

Suddenly, the fire was extinguished, a torrent of water spread across the field, hitting both Hashirama and Minato, it was one of Tobirama's water jutsu, with the flames put out, Tobirama manipulated the remaining water, turning them into a high-pressure stream, he fires it at both Hashirama and Minato, "Water Release: Water Severing Wave" the pressured streams easily pierce and cut the ground beneath, creating a divide between the First and Fourth Hokage, as Tobirama continued his attack, Hashirama hopped onto a new created Wood Dragon in an attempt to evade, however, Tobirama intensified the pressure, and with one swift slice, he easily cut off the head of the wood dragon, forcing Hashirama off his escape option, Tobirama then extended the reach of his stream, aiming straight at Hashirama, the slicing water cut Hashirama in half!!

But it was a ruse, Hashirama quickly created a Wooden Clone to cover his escape, he reformed his dragon using the decapitated half as a base, Minato rushed in at Tobirama amongst all this, Tobirama quickly teleported away from both of them coming straight at him, Minato, knocked to the ground by Hashirama's dragon, for a second Hashirama continued his assault on Minato, but suddenly, he felt a sharp and piercing pain in his left arm, he suddenly looked and saw the armor on his left arm suddenly fall off, in two pieces, cut off by Tobirama's pressurized water, Hashirama felt anger in his brother attacking him, however, he quickly turned his dragon on Tobirama, Tobirama responded in kind, launching his water dragon at his older brother, the two dragons collided, and the water dragon dissipated and Hashirama's dragon became dampened, Minato quickly threw another of his kunai in the space in between his brothers.

Minato quickly cast several shadow clones, sending one shadow clone at Hashirama, the other at Tobirama, whilst the real Minato teleported away, the Senju Brothers briefly broke off their battle and fought the clones of Minato, however, the Senju Brothers quickly created their shadow clones, outnumbering the clones formed by Minato, and the two brothers make their way back into the forest, Minato had charged a larger Rasengan than before, however just before he leapt off his tree branch to re-engage his opponents, he hears the ever so quiet sound of feet landing on the trees, using a stealthy approach, he silent closes the distance between him and that noise.

Wood and Water continued to erupt from the forest, oversaturating the trees, while they continued growing higher than anything in the Hidden Leaf Village itself, Minato jumped higher and higher, hoping to observe things from the high ground, he silently activated a shadow clone jutsu and sent his clone forward, Hashirama and Tobirama were battling it out, it was down to melee weapons now, with their swords from the war, the two traded blades, Tobirama uses his more pragmatic tactics to attack where Hashirama was most vulnerable, the two metal sword clashed against each other, as if the two metals were forcibly being moulded together by an impenetrable force, the swiftness in Tobirama's attacks kept Hashirama on the defensive.

Tobirama sliced Hashirama's exposed arm, making the First Hokage retaliate with a kick to the side, knocking Tobirama backwards, using a Shadow Clone, he sent that clone to continue fighting Hashirama as the battle continued, suddenly as Tobirama's clone went in for the attack, Minato came crashing down from above, hitting the ground with a Rasengan that cracked the ground beneath them, Tobirama's clone dissipated as the real Tobirama realised had he of gone in rushing, he might've met his end, Tobirama stood back up as Hashirama engaged with Minato, as Hashirama jumped into the air, he unleashed another wave of Wooden Hands, Tobirama quickly unleashed a pressurized stream of water, slicing off the hands coming to get him, but Minato was grabbed by the hands, but suddenly, Minato disappeared!

Hashirama and Tobirama collectively realised it was a shadow clone, but neither of them knew where Minato was coming from, the forest was so thick and vibrant that it was hard to see any angle of attack, Tobirama held his sword at the ready as did Minato, Hashirama watched his surroundings carefully, as did Tobirama, they both heard the sound of a branch falling and the two saw Minato come jumping of that branch and onto the space between them, Hashiram and Tobirama both charged at Minato with their swords ready to impale them both, suddenly Minato threw two kunai, aiming for the respective Hokage, Hashirama and Tobirama avoided the projectiles as they both went for stabbing thrusts at Minato, but it proved to be no more than a clone, and Tobirama's face lit up with shock as he figured out Minato's strategy, but before he could turn around, Minato was right behind him, and he thrust a blade directly into Tobirama's back, Hashirama looked in his hands to see them empty!!!

Tobirama dropped onto his knees as he looked at Hashirama, smiling at his brother, as he had done in their past, his breathing begun to slow, and blood continued to pour out from his wound, Minato stood back, giving his predecessor the respect he deserved, for he would be not here standing here today, were it not for the skills he learned his Tobirama, the Second Hokage finally dropped his blade and stood on his all fours, watching the blood fall and his life force fading away, he gazed upon Minato, whom he was thankful had become as strong a shinobi as himself, finally, Tobirama lifelessly laid down on the ground as he saw the light, it welcomed him as he closed his eyes for the last time.

(Cue Most Wondrous Battle Music Ever: Heaven Earth)

Hashirama's face turned into pure rage and anger, he saw his brother slain right in front of him, "TOBIRAMA!!!!!!" Hashirama pumped all of his chakra into bolting at a massive speed, grabbing the sword Tobirama dropped and thrusting it right into Minato's shoulder, it would've hit his heart, had he of not reacted sooner, the blade was also impaling the three, so Hashirama performed another jutsu, making the trees ascend even higher, Minato was stuck but he did not have to worry, he quickly teleported to the kunai he threw at Hashirama earlier, he took a quick moment to rest before activating a large number of shadow clones, the Minato clones then began charging Rasengans, but Hashirama noticed them approaching, and so he had no choice but to activate a more powerful technique, "Wood Release: Wood Golem Jutsu!!" Hashirama summoned an enormous statue-like creature out of wood. This humanoid creature with a full body and an oni-like face, accompanied by a wooden dragon wrapped around its torso.

The Wooden Golem stood above the trees like skyscraper piercing through the cityscape, Minato saw the massive Wood Golem and decided this was becoming a fight much bigger than before, he called upon his trusted ally, his power that lied from within, "Kurama!" Minato's body is coated in yellow chakra, which emanated from them reminiscent of flickering flames, his aura was darker than normal, his eyes become orange but his pupils remained the same, and he saw the Wood Golem, Minato then jumped from tree to tree, jumping closer to the top, finally he broke out of the forest, where he saw the Wood Golem identify him as a threat, Minato grabbed a few of his kunai and threw them at the Wood Golem, who was running at him by this point, a number of the kunai landed on their target, successfully sticking in place to the Wood Golem, Minato then teleported to the first kunai, which was on the Golem's hand, all this just before the Golem aimed it's massive fist attempting to punch Minato's lights out, with Hashirama unaware, Minato then ran up the arm of the Golem where he finally saw Hashirama, the First Hokage had to focus his attention on battling Minato.

The two Hokage fought atop the Wood Golem, while it was attempting to grab Minato and throw him off, however, Minato was proving to be faster than he was before, Hashirama's punches and kicks were being outpaced, and the Golem could not grab a hold of him, Minato started threw kunai at Hashirama and while he managed to avoid them thanks to some well-placed defences, Minato teleported behind Hashirama with one of his kunai and stabbed him in the back.

(Cue Most Wondrous Battle Music Ever: The Last of Us)

Hashirama felt the pain in his back, the sharpness of the kunai plunged into his body, he could not bear the pain anymore than he did already, with the swing of his arm, he attempted to land a clothesline on Minato, however, the Fourth Hokage teleported out of the way, and he was charging a Rasengan, Hashirama closed his eyes as he gains black markings around and under his eyes as well in the middle of his forehead, entering his iconic Sage Mode, he opened them and launches the Wood Dragon that lied on the Golem's torso, aiming it straight for Minato, the Fourth Hokage teleported away while charging the Rasengan, the dragon did not waver, Hashirama pulled the kunai from behind his back as he launched another pair of dragons, firing them from the palm of his Golem, with three dragons being fired, Minato had to either face them or teleport once again, with little choice, Minato teleported back onto the golem back on the same hand he first started on.

With the dragon crashing into each other, Hashirama did not see any trace of the Fourth Hokage, but he started a pursuit, while Minato teleported to the kunai in Hashirama's hands, right next to him, Minato used a kunai in his opposing hand and stabbed Hashirama in the neck, however, no blood poured out, suddenly Minato was bound by wood, and the real Hashirama thrust him in the back with the same kunai that Minato put into his back, Minato realised he had impaled a near indistinguishable wooden clone of Hashirama, who had bound him.

"You've fought well Fourth Hokage, and you're more than deserving of the title Hiruzen granted you, the four of us knew we wouldn't do this if we had any other choice, but this is where things have to end..." Hashirama then slit Minato's throat with the very kunai that had Hashirama's blood on it, Minato dropped lifelessly on the ground, his Nine-Tails cloak fading out as Hashirama gave him the respect a fellow Hokage gave one another, Hashirama carried Minato's body to the hand of his Wood Golem, whom gently placed him in the forest their battle had gone down, Hashirama closed his eyes in remorse, as he had to live with the pain of fighting his three successors, his pupil and his blood brother, no form of ninja training could’ve ever prepared Hashirama for the pain he felt in having to deal that final blow, Hashirama deactivated his Sage Mode and returned to the forest where deep within were the bodies of his fallen allies.

K.O.!

Conclusion[]

(Cue Hokage Theme - Naruto)

Boomstick: Jesus Christ, that took ages!

Wiz: As it should be, all Four of the Hokage are accomplished ninjas in their own right, so this battle wouldn't be over quickly, it would take a long while before any of them showed signs of tiring out.

Boomstick: While they're all talented and prodigious ninjas, only the Senju Brothers and Minato have shown the endurance and strength to go up against the Uchihas, as Hashirama defeated Madara, Tobirama defeated Izuna and Madara, and Minato defeated Obito.

Wiz: While fighting Orochimaru is a solid showing, Hiruzen hasn't shown himself to be at the same level of stamina or endurance as the other Three Hokage when fighting Uchihas, giving them an advantage over Hiruzen.

Boomstick: While the remaining three are able to keep up with and surprise the Uchihas, even with their ability to perceive actions before they happen, Tobirama has openly gone on the record saying Minato's use of the Flying Thunder God Technique was superior to his own, making Minato the fastest and way more capable of avoiding tough attacks from the Senju Brothers.

Wiz: Minato has reacted to and avoided attacks from the future Fourth Raikage, Ay, who was going to hit him with a Cross Lariat until Minato teleported away from him, with speeds almost as fast as his own, however, one of the core requirements of the Flying Thunder God technique, unless Minato brands his opponent, he has to be able to teleport to a kunai within a good distance.

Boomstick: He usually brands whenever he uses a charged Rasengan, but it only worked on Obito because he wore a cloak and not ninja armor as Hashirama wears, making the odds of branding Hashirama unlikely, plus Hashirama reacted to a Tailed Beast Bomb that travelled somewhere near Mach 234!!

Wiz: That and Hashirama has seen more conflict than Minato has, having much more experience since he lived in, and eventually ended, the Warring States Period where you could go to war when you were only a child, which made Hashirama fight to end the wars altogether, taking at least a decade of fighting the Uchihas alongside his family to inevitably achieve.

Boomstick: Combine all of this with the fact that Hashirama has his healing factor, which allows him to heal any wounds he sustains that don't cut off a limb or a vital organ, and you've got the ability to survive anything that isn't fatal, even some minor stab wounds.

Wiz: Another big advantage for Hashirama is that his life force grants him enough stamina to fight nonstop for twenty-four hours, making his stamina far superior to Minato's stamina, since Madara himself claims that even with his most powerful tools, Hashirama was the one person he could not defeat since Madara was the one fighting him for 24 hours.

Boomstick: Plus with his Asura Chakra, Hashirama had plenty of it to use, letting him easily match Minato's Nine-Tails Chakra, even if Minato had used his Nine-Tails form, Hashirama already fought and defeated the Nine-Tails when Madara possessed it under his control.

Wiz: The fight was fought hard until the end, but eventually there could only be one left standing.

Boomstick: Believe me when I say, "I sure WOOD not like to fight this guy"!

Winner - Hashirama Senju

Wiz: The winner is Hashirama Senju.
