Etna VS Morrigan Aensland is a what-if Death Battle by Unbacked0. It features Etna from the Disgaea series and Morrigan Aensland from the Darkstalkers series in a battle of video games' most iconic succubus.
Description[]
Disgaea VS Darkstalkers! A battle between two ruthless and powerful succubi, adopted into power and through years of fighting, would end up battling against the world themselves to prove themselves to the world.
Introduction[]
Boomstick: Ah succubuses, succubi? Anyway, sex demons, they're often seen as just your average demons that aren't that strong...
Wiz: But our two combatants today are the epitome of unstoppable power... And reckless neglection of their jobs.
Boomstick: Etna, the "loyal" vassal of Overlord Laharl...
Wiz: And Morrigan Aensland, the new Head of the Aensland Household.
Boomstick: He's Wiz, and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Etna[]
Boomstick: The Netherworld, it's Hell but more fun. There are demons running around throwing massive galaxy-destroying beams of energy that make Sephiroth's Supernova look like a firecracker.
Wiz: In this absurdly powerful world, a ruler that brings order to it must be someone with not only a strong will and mighty strength but also powerful allies who won't betray them at their worst moments.
Boomstick: These big shoes would be filled by a small but pretty friggin' strong demon, Etna.
Background:
- Real/Former Name: Etna
- Age: 1473
- Height: 148cm/4'10".
- Weight: 40kg/88lbs.
- Officially ranked as a Demon Lord.
- Right-Hand Demon to Overlord Laharl himself.
- Adopted by the previous Overlord, King Krichevskoy.
- Younger sister to Xenolith.
- Considered to be the "spiteful attendant" of video game allies.
- Hobbies: Eating sweets, Blowing up Prinnies.
Boomstick: Etna is a badass demon, don't let her small fragile child-like body fool you, she could totally fold an entire planet or two for fun and she's the right-hand demon to the Overlord himself, Laharl.
Wiz: But before any of that she was just a small demon child, alone in the world after being abandoned by her family, left to fend for herself until the previous Overlord of the Netherworld, King Krichevskoy found her and sort of adopted her, having her be raised in his castle as a sort of vassal, wanting her to grow up to be a better demon who would positively affect the world around her.
Boomstick: "Grow up", she's like 12, 15 tops, are we sure she's even hit puberty yet?
Wiz: Well that's the thing, in the Netherworld, time works differently, it's warped in a way that allows mortal beings to live far longer lives than they could if they were in a different world such as the Human World which allows Etna to be alive for over one thousand four hundred years and more adult-like demons being able to live for over two thousand years without any visible signs of ageing.
Boomstick: That just sounds like an excuse.
Wiz: That's just how it is.
Boomstick: Well, one thousand years old or one-year-old, Etna would turn out to be one loyal demon to King Krichevskoy and would stay that way until his death. Too bad that Etna's memories got stolen by a dickhead vampire called Maderas and he'd hold onto Etna's memories of her childhood from her until Etna killed the next Overlord and King Krichveskoy's son, Laharl and made Maderas the Overlord. What a bastard!
Wiz: Luckily for Etna, she wouldn't lose her memories forever since Laharl and their new angel friend Flonne would defeat Maderas, giving Etna her memories back which let her recall that she promised King Krichevskoy that she would stick by Laharl's side until he became a great Overlord who united the Netherworld. Talk about lucky, it would have really sucked if she killed Laharl and then got her memories back.
Boomstick: And since Laharl was a cool dude and she promised her not-dad that she would help his actual son, Etna became Laharl's totally completely loyal right-hand demon who would help him battle against armies of demon, an invasion of highly advanced human machines and even a full war from heaven itself.
Wiz: And thanks to her demon physiology, Etna is one of the strongest and most powerful beings in the entirety of the Netherworld.
Abilities:
- Demon Physiology
- Flight
- Survivability in Space
- Mana Manipulation
- Fire Magic
- Immortality
- Intense Regeneration and Survivability
- Forth Wall Breaking
- Toon Force
- Majin Form
- Duplication
- Unique Skills
- Prinny Raid
- Sexy Beam
- Sadistic Spike
- Chaos Impact
- Dead End Chaos
- Spear Mastery
- Impaler Drop
- Blade Bash
- Spear Bow
- Trident
- Dimension Rush
- Magic Comet Slash
- Baker's Dozen Slash
- Meteor Sky Spear
- Overload Skill: Chaotic Ordina
- Summons a large number of Prinnies to Etna's side.
Boomstick: Being a demon, Etna can survive in space without needing to breathe, regenerate from severe injuries like being blown up or burned to ash, fight against an army of thousands of people at the same time without getting tired and not die after taking attacks that would kill a non-demon such as severe damage though she does need time to heal before she can fight again.
Wiz: On top of that Etna is a master at using various weapons such as axes and guns but Etna's speciality weapons are her spears, being able to use them far better than most demons can.
Boomstick: With her spear, Etna can shock an opponent with bolts of lightning, shoot out massive beams of energy from the tip, create portals that shoot out a barrage of flaming spears, open up wormholes to increase her speed to fling herself at a poor fucker and have a spear absorb the darkness of the Moon itself to grow to be the size of a skyscraper which falls on top of the guy she's fighting. Okay, what the actual fuck are these skills?
Wiz: And Etna herself has a variety of unique skills that only she can use. With Prinny Raid, Etna summons a group of Prinnies to fall from the sky and slam into an opponent before blowing them up. With Sadistic Spike, Etna throws a spear with multiple Prinnies impaled on it, exploding when it stabs into the enemy. With Sexy Beam, Etna shoots out a powerful beam of pure sexual energy at her opponent. With Chaos Impact, Etna shoots out balls of energy that break away the space around the opponent, dropping them in a pool of lava before Etna throws a large ball of molten magma at them. And with her ultimate skill, Dead End Chaos, Etna harnesses all of her suppressed power to launch out a variety of giant spears at the opponent before blowing them up with Prinnies.
Boomstick: Yeah Etna always has her Prinnies at her side, summoning them even when they don't want... Scratch that, especially when they don't want to. Hell, with her Overload Skill: Chaotic Ordina, Etna can make an entire horde of them appear literally out of nowhere.
Wiz: On top of that, Etna has the unique ability to multiply herself into five different versions of herself, each just as powerful as she is as well as enter her special Majin form. Etna's Majin form increases all of Etna's stats immensely and is comparable to Valvatorez's Tyrant form which can fight on par with Death King Hugo's additional forms, each of which multiplies the power of the Death King Hugo's base form and Tyrant Valvatorez, and by extension Etna could keep up in terms of raw strength.
Boomstick: And if that wasn't weird enough, Etna can just use toon force, the ability that cartoon characters can use for comedic effect. While it isn't as strong as most cartoon characters, Etna's version of toon force lets her summon weapons out of nowhere, stretching her body with ease and changing parts of her body into whatever she wants and that's on top of the fact that just like everyone else in her entire franchise, Etna knows she's in a video game and can even talk to the developers of her game. Okay, all of this is getting too meta for my mental sanity...
Wiz: All of this and more is why Etna is considered a powerhouse amongst her already incredibly strong peers. Etna may be considered as just a Demon Lord but if she wanted to she could easily become an Overlord with even the Fake Overlord Zenon saying as such. And these aren't meaningless titles, an Overlord is under constant threat of being killed by their underlings so they have to be immensely strong in order to keep their position.
Boomstick: In Hell, even you average non-name demon can destroy every star in the sky with total ease, and that's not even talking about demons and angels who can destroy solar systems, galaxies and even the entire universe by making another Big Bang. You know, the explosion that created our entire universe?
Wiz: And those are just what standard demons can, Etna herself, without her Majin form is able to defeat Alexander, the God of Destruction, who is able to destroy every universe in the Disgaea multiverse which has been stated to have an infinite amount of universes.
Boomstick: Etna managed to fight against Baal, the demon who killed her not-dad, a super powerful demon who was so super strong that even a tiny fragment of his soul was stronger than the Malice fuelling the Prinny Bomb, a bomb which would have blown up the entire infinite multiverse in one blast. And Etna fought the Baal's full power, not even just that fragment.
Feats:
- Can fight on par with Laharl who can destroy every star in the sky.
- Can dodge Darkdeath Evilman's Evilman Gigantus Ray.
- Can dodge universe-spanning attacks.
- Can fight against demons like Valvatorez, Killia, Zed and Adell who can beat Overlords level demons easily.
- Defeated powerful demons like Alexander and Baal who both far stronger than those who have the power to destroy every universe in the multiverse.
Wiz: Etna is also fast too, as previously stated, demons are casually able to destroy every star in the sky which would be many many times the speed of light but they are also able to leap outside of the galaxy itself within a few seconds. Etna herself is even able to dodge Darkdeath Evilman's Evilman Gigantus Ray, a laser beam which crosses half of the Milky Way galaxy in one-thirteenth of a single second, a feat that would require Etna to be moving at trillions of times the speed of light and attacks that create a black hole that sucks in the entire universe in a few seconds.
Boomstick: And all of this, literally everything we've said was done by Etna super easily and without using her super Majin form to make her stronger, this is all just her casual base power.
Wiz: Not even that, this was only a portion of Etna's maximum potential strength.
Boomstick: Say what now?
Wiz: Back when Etna was a child, she had a power that she couldn't control and would have killed her if she didn't have it removed from her body. So her older brother, Xenolith, used a special artefact to absorb a large amount of Etna's true power, leaving her with only a little of it left. Skip forward to when she was older, Etna would meet her brother again and would destroy the artefact which had gone berserk and was absorbing everything which gave Etna all of her power back, with her being able to fully control it now. Everything she had been through from beating Baal to stopping a war between Heaven and Hell, Etna did all of that with just a fragment of power.
Boomstick: Well shit, guess tiny here is a hell of a lot stronger than anyone thinks.
Wiz: That being said, Etna does have her fair share of flaws.
Weaknesses:
- Etna is quick to anger, especially if her bust are mocked.
- Etna rarely takes a fight seriously unless provoked.
- Etna can only use so many skills before running out of MP.
Boomstick: She is very, very laid back, like she seriously puts no effort into most of the things she has to do, including fighting. And just like every character who comes from an RPG, she can only use so many skills before she runs out of MP and needs to recharge.
Wiz: There's also her, anger issues. You see when Etna's proportions are mocked, Etna has the tendency to... Overreact, making her more violent but less likely to think of strategies while fighting.'
Boomstick: Just say she has a small chest, no need to beat around the bush.
Wiz: Boomstick, I wouldn't say tha...
Loud Off-Screen Voice: WHAT WAS THAT!?
Wiz: Did you forget about the whole fourth wall-breaking super demon thing?
Boomstick: Oh shit, I gotta flee the country, no the galaxy.
Wiz: Well, good luck, Etna may have the body and mind of a small girl, but she has the determination and world-ending powers that are unrivalled and she'll hunt you down like Devil herself.
Boomstick: Can you not end the segment now, you're really killing my spirit with all these ending lines...
Etna: "Aww, are you trying to protect daddy? You are so adorable. But if you won't help me, then I'll just have to kill you first!"
Morrigan Aensland[]
Wiz: Makai, the demon world, Hell. There are just as many names for the chaotic realm where the residents often go around, causing hellish mischief for others and the humans when they travel to their world.
Boomstick: It's not easy to control this world because of all the corruption and general political fucky-ness but if there's one Darkstalker who could do it, it's the S-Rank Darkstalker, the strongest Darkstalker to walk the Earth and Makai, the not-that Batgirl and the numbers 1 & 2 on the sexiest video game ladies' list, Morrigan Aensland.
Background:
- Real/Former Name: Morrigan Aensland
- Age: At least 316
- Height: 172cm/5'7½".
- Weight: 58kg/128lbs.
- Officially ranked as an S-Rank Darkstalker.
- Current Head of the Aensland Household.
- Adopted by the previous Head of the Aensland Household, Belial Aensland.
- Older Sister/Original Version of Lilith Aensland.
- Carries her entire franchise popularity on her back at all times.
- Hobbies: Playing video games, Getting into fights against strong opponents.
Wiz: Born in Scotland and catching the eye of the then ruler Belial Aensland who adopted her, Morrigan was raised in the lap of luxury while being taught everything she would ever need to know in order to guide the Makai to a better world.
Boomstick: Lessons that she would blatantly ignore because it's more fun going to the Human world to fuck around and by fuck around I mean...
Wiz: He means fighting, see in the Darkstalkers' world, a succubus doesn't need to... procreate... in order to survive, instead they need to stimulate themselves in order to release a liquid from their body which sustains them. Morrigan typically does this by finding strong opponents, whether they be Darkhunters who hunt Darkstalkers for a paycheck and to keep their world safe or powerful Darkstalkers who live in the human world.
Boomstick: Needless to say, Morrigan spent a lot of time just walking over to the Human World and making a mess of trouble before going home if she didn't find anything that interesting.
Wiz: On one of these fateful nights, Morrigan would meet a powerful Darkstalker who would grab and hold her attention, Dimitri Maximoff, making a relationship built off of both hate and respect.
Boomstick: Dimitri was a super powerful Makai noble who was banished from Hell itself because he dared to challenge Belial Aensland. You'd think hearing that her dad personally kicked this guy to the curb would raise a red flag or two, but all Morrigan thought about was how cool it was that someone challenged the ruler of Hell itself and was banished from Hell.
Wiz: Morrigan's relationship with Dimitri was... Complicated... At first, she saw him as a completely arrogant Darkstalker, someone who was only notable because of his raw power, however, once the planet-destroying Pyron showed up and Dimitri personally challenged him to a fight, Morrigan saw Dimitri as a proud Darkstalker that every one of them should strive to be.
Boomstick: And so Dimitri and Morrigan began their totally healthy rivalry where they tried to beat the shit out of each other. They totally banged.
Wiz: Oh absolutely... Moving on. Morrigan was able to challenge this absurdly powerful Darkstalker and Pyron because she was naturally an S-Rank Darkstalker, the strongest type of Darkstalker around.
Abilities:
- Darkstalker Physiology
- Flight
- Soul Absorption
- Intense Regeneration
- Body and Personality Absorption
- Bat Control
- Intense Soul Manipulation Resistance
- Mind and Sanity Corrupting Aura
- Unique Skills
- Soul Fist
- Shadow Blade
- Verticle Shift
- Cryptic Needle
- Darkness Illusion
- Kiss of Death
Boomstick: Being a Darkstalker, Morrigan is able to absorb the souls of her enemies, blot out the Sun itself, put people to sleep and eat their dreams, putting them into a dream that will kill them, poison an opponent with her spit, hypnotise people with a stare, corrupt the minds of those around her, driving them completely mad, instantly turning a person into a dead pile of bones with a kiss of death, has the stamina to defeat an entire army of soldiers on her own and can live for hundreds of years without ageing.
Wiz: And yet she's the younger of these two...
Boomstick: Stop saying that, it's getting really really weird sorting out these ages in my head...
Wiz: Morrigan's body is surrounded by a swarm of bats that obey her every command and will mould and shapeshift themselves, using them both as her clothes also as deadly weapons, making spikes, blades, portals to travel to different dimensions, jet boosters for faster flight, needles to drain her opponent's health and even a barrage of missiles.
Boomstick: And she's really really tough to kill, being able to instantly heal from being impaled through the stomach with a spear and cut in half with a blood and soul-absorbing sword. Literally, any time she's hit, she can just turn into a swarm of bats and just get over it.
Wiz: In the world of Darkstalkers, the stronger a being is, the stronger their soul is which is why Morrigan herself is able to casually shoot out her soul as a projectile called Soul Fist or split her soul in two for her Darkness Illusion attack, letting her strike the opponent from their back and front at the same time without a way to guard against both.
Boomstick: Like a threesome?
Wiz: Ahhh, No! Like a tag team.
Boomstick: Oh...
Feats:
- Regularly fights against Dimitri Maximoff.
- Contended with Pyron, a being who is larger than the Milky Way Galaxy.
- Flew from Earth to Planet Hellstorm, a distance of 200,0000,000 light-years, in a short amount of time.
- Defeated Jedah Dohma who was able to casually maintain a universe-sized dimension on his own.
- Defeated and absorbed Lilith Aensland who is just as strong as Morrigan was.
Boomstick: Morrigan stands way ahead of pretty much every Darkstalker in the series, being an S-Rank Darkstalker and all, even powerful Darkstalkers like Anakaris who is able to sink all of ancient Egypt underground are considered to be ants when compared to her.
Wiz: But in order to accurately scale Morrigan's power, let's compare her to the two boss characters of the series, Pyron and Jedah Dohma. Pyron himself is an alien monster who, through absorbing countless planets and stars, became as large as a galaxy with his body spanning over 400,000 light-years which is seven and a half times the size of the Milky Way Galaxy and Morrigan was able to fight on par with him and Dimitri, her rival in strength, being able to defeat and absorb his power, something that can only be done if the power isn't too great for them.
Boomstick: But that's nothing when compared to her battle against another S-Rank Darkstalker, Jedah Dohma. Jedah is a super powerful Darkstalker who was able to make the Majigen a pocket reality that is the home for the most fucked-up looking monster in fiction, the Fetus of God.
Wiz: The Majigen itself is a large pocket dimension that is able to hold planets, stars and a constellation with Pyron, who is a cosmic being who knows a lot about the universe and fabric of reality, stating that the Majigen is an entire universe.
Boomstick: And Jedah is able to sustain the entire thing on his own without even using a small piece of his power.
Wiz: Morrigan is also fast as well, C and B-Rank Darkstalkers are able to block and dodge bullets with them even being stated to be able to move at the speed of light like Jon Talbain.
Boomstick: But when standing next to Pyron, Jon might as well be standing still. Pyron can move at the speed of light for millions of years but when he actually tries, he's so fast that he talks about travelling him to the Andromeda Galaxy like he's taking a stroll to a corner store. But that's nothing on Pyron moving from Earth all the way back to his home planet and somehow not the name of a video game, Bonestorm.
Wiz: He means Hellstorm. Pyron travelled for two hundred million light-years from Hellstorm to reach Earth and he travelled all the way back in less than a minute, meaning that both he and Morrigan are able to move at quadrillion of times the speed of light.
Wixz: And all of these feats, beating everyone down in her series was done without Morrigan being at full strength, only a portion of it.
Boomstick: Again, say what now?
Wiz: When Morrigan was a child, Belial foresaw that Morrigan's immense would kill end up causing her body to destroy herself so he ripped her soul into three pieces, Morrigan kept one-third of it, Belial would keep another third and the last third would be hidden away in a pocket dimension. Since a Darkstalker's power is tied to their soul, Morrigan only had a third of her maximum power.
Boomstick: So did, she get any of this back or is just running on empty?
Wiz: Call Morrigan's power as "running on empty" is a little misleading but Morrigan would get a chance to get one-third of it back, when Jedah found one of these portions of Morrigan's soul, he gave it form, turning it into the succubus Lilith, an incomplete being who wished to become whole. So she would try and hunt down Morrigan to be absorbed into her body, giving Morrigan all of her powers, doubling her already immense strength and giving her aspects of Lilith's playful personality.
Boomstick: That's great and all, but what about the last bit of her universe-ending strength?
Wiz: We don't know, given that Belial had it on him when he died, it likely died with him.
Boomstick: Well that's sucks...
Wiz: I know, it is such a waste.
Weaknesses:
- As a Darkstalker, she is weak to sunlight.
- Those with strong wills can negate some of Morrigan's passive mind abilities.
- Morrigan often messes around in a fight so she can enjoy it more.
- Rarely uses her more powerful abilities unless there is a specific circumstance that requires her to.
Boomstick: Morrigan isn't exactly flawless, all Darkstalkers from Makai are naturally weak to sunlight, not instant death weak but it hurts like hell and if she's somehow trapped somewhere without any way to "stimulate" herself, she'll die.
Wiz: And Morrigan still is and always will be the thrill seeker that she always has been, while she doesn't mess around in a fight, she rarely puts all of her effort into a fight. Despite Morrigan having so many powerful abilities to instantly kill someone, she never uses any of them because they would end the fight before she could have any fun.
Boomstick: But hey, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Wiz: While Morrigan may be seen as incredibly reckless, she has proven time and time again that she is a true Darkstalker, being willing to fight against incredible powers in order to get what she wants, whether it be to protect her bloodline or for fun.
Morrigan: "A pity. We have so much in common. But if you won't give me what I want...I will take it from you!"
Pre-Fight[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLEEEEE!!!
Fight[]
The scene is a castle made out of hardened rock, sitting on top of a steep cliff surrounded by a ravine on each side which has lava spewing at the bottom of it.
The camera pans to the front gate of the castle where a small army of penguin-like beings a marching through the gate, clearly exhausted from a tiring mission.
After they walk in, they are greeted by a throne being carried by another group of penguin-like beings, sitting on the throne is a small demon girl wearing a skimpy outfit with demon wings and a tail coming out of her back. Once she sees the army, she sits up and rests her head on one of her arms.
Etna: "It's so great to see you Prinnies back, did you get the Ultra Desert? Because you clearly wouldn't come back if you didn't, right? I would be so royally pissed off, if you just, and I'm just guessing here, completely failed every single order I gave you because it was too hard. If you did that I would totally just pull you guys apart for fun, but luckily you didn't do that, right?"
Etna spoke with each word adding a layer of intensity to the atmosphere around her, making all of the Prinnies sweat in fear. The camera pans up while she is talking, revealing a silhouette watching the scene unfold below her from the rafters of the castle.
One of the Prinnies who was wearing a scarf stepped forward, holding a sealed container out toward Etna.
Prinny: "W-We got the Ultra Desert like you asked Master Etna, Dood!"
Etna was pleased with what she was hearing, moving out of her sitting position and to her feet as she stepped off of the throne and to the ground in front of the Prinny holding her ice cream.
Etna: "Well that's good, I totally thought you little screw-ups were going to die or run away, but I guess I can be wrong."
Etna reached out to grab the ice cream but just before her hand touched the container, a small blur sped past her, grabbing the ice cream from her. It took Etna a few seconds to react, having to take a moment to realise what had happened.
Etna: "WHAT!?"
All of the Prinnies recoiled from the booming voice as Etna's head swung back and forth, scanning the room for the intruder.
Etna: "Attention all Prinnies, we have an intruder, I want you to find them and friggin' kill them!"
Etna's voice boomed throughout the castle, yelling at all of her subordinates, even those not in the room she was in.
???: "My oh my, throwing a fit over ice cream, how childish..."
The mysterious voice calls out as a swarm of bats all fly out from various places in the castle, all of them travelling to one exact point above Etna's head. The bats keep swarming together until they make a thick cloud of bats. Soon a figure of a naked woman appeared in the cloud, the bats covering most of her body. Each bat would attach itself to her body, making a set of very distinct clothes for the woman to wear.
The woman would become completely visible, her body was mostly covered aside from her shoulders and cleavage but because of how tight-fitting the outfit is, it would be incredibly inaccurate to call it modest. The woman also had two sets of wings, one pair coming out of her back and the other pair sticking out of her head.
Etna: "You know, calling me a child when you're the one stealing my ice cream is really telling, you know?"
Etna spoke up, wanting to throw an insult back at the intruder for trying to get one over Etna.
Morrigan: "You aren't wrong, I suppose I shouldn't steal candy from a baby."
Morrigan spoke back, intentionally going out of her way to make Etna mad.
Etna: "How rude, I'll have you know I am well over 1400 years old."
The older demon stated, no realising what she was setting herself up for.
Morrigan: "Oh I didn't know you were an old hag, I suppose I can see those wrinkles on your face that you try to hide."
Etna could feel her rage spread across her body, her face was becoming hot and she felt her brain begin to tighten.
Etna: "You know what? I don't have to put up with you or any of this, Prinny Squad!"
Etna stomped her foot as she yelled. A Prinny quickly dashed in with Etna's spear in their hands. Etna, not facing the Prinny, instead of grabbing the spear, she instead grabbed the head of the Prinny and instantly threw it up toward Morrigan. As the Prinny flew, he dropped the spear which stabbed into the ground in front of her.
Morrigan dropped out of the air to the ground to dodge the Prinny which exploded behind her. Morrigan, now on ground level, adopted a casual fighting stance as Etna pulled the spear out of the ground and pointed its head at Morrigan.
Morrigan: "Oh I do hope you satisfy me. Now let's dance."
FIGHT!
Etna quickly dashed forward, shoving the spear directly at Morrigan's torso, however, Morrigan blocked the spear by having spikes sprout out of her back to block the sharped-point. She would then quickly raise her knee, ramming it directly into Etna's stomach, knocking the wind out of her and making her cough before transforming her arm in a blade and delivering a rising slash to Etna's body which launched her into the air.
Morrigan: "Shadow Blade!"
Morrigan said aloud as she delivered her attack to Etna.
Etna landed on her feet with minimal damage dealt to her body, though she was clearly still aggravated.
Etna: "God, do you really have to be this annoying?"
Etna asked as she tried to compose herself. She then waved her spear into the air.
Etna: "Alright, Prinnies, get to work!"
Etna yelled out. Suddenly, a squad of Prinnies would run in and directly toward Morrigan. All of them would pull out machetes and swing them at Morrigan's body, rapidly but imprecisely slashing at her body. Morrigan would use her wings as shields to block all the cuts aimed at her body. Once Morrigan saw an opportunity, she would push the Prinnies with her wings, knocking them back slightly before delivering a series of jabs to each of her attackers.
Just when Morrigan knocked all of the Prinnies back, Etna would throw her spear, impaling all of the Prinnies and pinning Morrigan toward the nearest wall behind her, narrowly avoiding being stabbed by the javelin. The result of the Prinnies being slammed against Morrigan would be each of them exploding directly in front of her like a grenade.
Morrigan: "Ugh... How rude..."
Morrigan grunted in surprise, dusting herself off from the explosion as she emerged from the fireball created by the explosion.
Etna: "Yeah I am pretty rude, I guess."
Etna would casually say as she floats in the air, an entire army of Prinnies standing directly behind her, filling up the room.
Etna: "So, on a scale from one to ten, how screwed do you think you are? I'd say like eight probably nine."
Etna casually said as she punched one of her fists into the palm of her other hand, looking down at Morrigan. Morrigan stood there looking at Etna before she spoke again.
Morrigan: "I am far more interested in fighting you. Your servants are an afterthought..."
Morrigan said as she leaned back before a swarm of missiles appeared from her back and began to rapidly shoot at Etna who would easily dodge them all, not letting a single one hit them.
Etna: "Maybe you should work on your aim before you fight some out of your league."
Etna said in a mocking tone, making it clear how little she thought of Morrigan. Morrigan gave a small chuckle in response, making Etna feel confused until she realised what, or more specifically who, was standing right behind her. Etna turned around in time enough to see that all of the missiles that she dodged were embedded in every Prinny that was standing behind her, every single one of them would explode in a massive wave of fiery force that blasted Etna away. Now that Etna's guard was down, Morrigan saw this as her opportunity to fly over to Etna and grabbed onto her.
Morrigan: "Now, let's see how you handle this."
Morrigan would flip upside down and hurtle quickly toward the castle ground. The top of Etna's head would collide directly with the stone floor, sending an intense wave of pain through her body and freezing her body in place while Morrigan let go and stood back up. Etna's body would fall backwards, her head no longer able to support her body.
Etna: "Aren't you... So damn funny?"
Etna spoke as she lay on the ground, her arms pushing the ground beneath her to help her get to her feet, blood dripping down her head and face.
Once she was fully standing up again, Etna slouched over. Morrigan would see this and use it as a chance to strike. She would fly toward Etna, spikes starting to come out of her back and would be pointed at Etna's body, the distance closing every moment Morrigan moved while Etna continued to stand there.
Morrigan: "You're making this too easy."
Just before the blades impaled Etna, she would completely vanish from Morrigan's sight, shocking her. Etna quickly moved above Morrigan and would start to channel her mana into her hands before pointing them down at Morrigan. Before Morrigan could look for Etna, she would be hit by a pink beam of energy that came from Etna's hands, the beam hitting Morrigan's head, causing her a slight amount of pain.
Morrigan would look up to see her opponent above her. Various pink beams would rain down on top of Morrigan, she would try to dodge them, however, every directly she moved, Etna would move there first and shoot Morrigan. She would keep getting pelted with these beams over and over again, her body receiving many small wounds. She would stop trying to dodge and instead Morrigan would fight back, pointing her arm at Morrigan before shooting out a large ball of energy up.
Morrigan: "Soul Fist!"
She would yell out as the energy ball launched toward Etna. She would cease her attack, choosing instead to avoid receiving any more damage by flying out of the way of the energy ball. After dodging the Soul Fist, Etna would quickly throw her spear high into the air, letting it fall down as Etna flew around the area at incredible speeds, becoming a blur that Morrigan couldn't keep track off, Morrigan kept trying to focus on Etna so she could shoot her with another Soul Fist but it was obvious to her that it was impossible for her to do, so instead Morrigan decided to fire randomly above her, hoping that Etna would fly into it.
Meanwhile, as the spear nearly hit the ground, Etna flew directly toward it, Morrigan's focus was on the area above her leaving her open for attack. Etna flew to her spear and punched the bottom of it, launching it at Morrigan and turning it into a beam of energy. The spear would stab into Morrigan, embedding itself into her stomach as the energy beam hit the rest of her body, damaging her even further.
Morrigan: "Ho-How dare..."
Morrigan tried to speak but Etna wasn't finished attacking. She would fly at Morrigan and grab onto the spear, pushing it further into Morrigan's body. She would grab the spear with one hand to stop it from being forced into her stomach and her other hand pushed against Etna's face trying to get her away from her.
What Morrigan didn't see coming was the wall behind her. Morrigan's back would collide with the wall, holding her in place and letting Etna thrust her spear all the way through Morrigan's stomach, sticking her to the wall.
Etna: "How's that, I am driving the point home or do I need to stick it to you?"
Etna said as she turned the spear in her stomach, making Morrigan scream in pain. Morrigan's arms grabbed onto the spear as she looked Etna dead in the eyes.
Morrigan: "You really are a child if you think this can stop me..."
Morrigan spat out, drops of blood spilling out of her mouth as she spoke. Morrigan's body shot out a swarm of bats, blocking Etna's view of Morrigan completely. Etna tried to push the bats aside so she can keep an eye on her, however, when Etna punched where Morrigan was, her fist just hit the wall instead of her opponent.
Etna: "Damn, where'd she go?"
Etna said as she turned around, expecting Morrigan to strike from behind her. Instead, Etna was attacked from above as Morrigan kicked down at Etna's head with a needle leg which spread out and pierced into Etna's head and shoulders, sapping some of the life from her body.
Morrigan: "You won't be needing this life now, will you?"
She said from above, Morrigan literally standing on Etna's head as she spoke. Etna tilted her head up and went to stab Morrigan with her spear, however, Morrigan quickly retracted her needles and vanished.
Suddenly, from both her left and right, Etna would feel punches hit her sides, these punches coming from two Morrigans, with Etna not being able to determine who was the real one. Etna tried to block all of the attacks but when she tried to block a jab from one of them, the other would hit her blind spot.
After beating on Etna for a while, one of the Morrigan's would put Etna into a full-nelson, forcing Etna's arms behind her head while the other Morrigan turned her legs into one sharp drill and pointed it at Etna's chest.
Etna: "This is some cheap stuff... What kind of protag tag team's someone?"
Etna said as the tip of the drill poked her chest, directly over where her heart was.
Morrigan: "A smart one."
Morrigan confidentially said before moving away from Etna, reeling back before charging at Etna, ready to kill her there and then.
However, before Morrigan's drill impaled Etna, another Etna, who looked identical to her in every way aside from her blue hair color, appeared from below and blocked the drill with her spear.
Morrigan: "What?"
Morrigan said in surprise as she tried to push the other Etna aside.
The Morrigan holding Etna thought of a way to stop Etna's clone from saving her. Instead of having the drill move to Etna, she'd move Etna to the drill, flying toward the lethal weapon, however, before she could do so, two more versions of Etna appeared from behind her, one with yellow hair and one with pink hair, and they both stabbed at the clone Morrigan's head, piercing through it and making her body disappear on death.
The original version of Morrigan would turn her drill legs into normal legs and would kick the clone of Etna who was stopping the drill, hitting her aside. All four of the Etna's would line up next to each other, two of them holding the original Etna up who began to speak.
Etna: "I know you're not smart but you should know that five is better than two."
Etna spoke with confidence even though she could barely stand from all of her injuries. Morrigan quickly realised what Etna meant.
Morrigna: "Five?!"
Morrigan realised that one of the clones was hiding from sight too late as a spear suddenly poked through her chest from behind. She turned to see the fifth Etna who had green hair holding the spear that was stuck in her chest.
Morrigan: "On-Only you would think green hair looks good on you..."
She spat out sarcastically, more blood coming from her mouth than it did before.
Etna: "I wonder where I got the idea of a succubus with green hair from?"
The real Etna spoke up as she stood up on her own before flying into the air. The green-haired Etna then spun the spear around before launching Morrigan's body at a nearby wall. All of the Etna clones would fly back to the original, fusing with her again and returning all of her energy back to her. Etna would use all of this power to activate her Majin Form, causing her eyes to glow and an evil purple aura to surround her body as she prepared her final attack.
Etna: "Dead End Chaos!"
Etna yelled out as she spun around, launching multiple balls of energy at Morrigan, each of them hitting one after another, cracking the very fabric of reality until it broke, turning the castle interior into a magma hellscape that Morrigan was dropped into.
Etna: "Alright, it's time to finish! You! Off!"
Etna yelled again as she telekinetically scooped up a large ball of magma and threw it at Morrigan.
The combination of magma she was forced onto and the giant ball of lava that Etna had launched at her started to burn away at Morrigan's body, instantly burning whatever flesh touched it and turning it into smoke. Despite this, Morrigan continued to push back until her hands and feet had melted and she was sandwiched between the two pools of lava, ending her life.
Once Morrigan was dead, reality turned back to normal and Etna was returned to the castle, her body instantly dropping out of the air and to the ground. Before she hit the rock floor, some of her Prinnies pushed the throne that was still in the entrance hall underneath her, catching her body with the soft cushions.
Etna: "Nice..."

K.O.
Etna falls asleep on the throne as the ice cream that Morrigan had stolen from her reappeared on a nearby table.
Boomstick: Looks like I need to find another numbers 1 & 2 for the sexiest video game ladies' list...
Wiz: This battle was insane, at a distance, it looks to be fairly even, however, on closer inspection, it was anything but. While Morrigan may be able to fight against Jedah who was able to maintain a universe-sized pocket dimension, Etna was able to defeat Baal who, even with a tiny fragment of his power, was stronger than the Prinny Bomb which would have destroyed every universe in the Disgaea multiverse, even without using her Majin Form which makes Etna stronger.
Boomstick: And that's if we say Pyron is right, he could easily be wrong or this could be something lost in translation which would make Etna's far, far, far stronger.
Wiz: Not just far stronger, the Disgaea multiverse has literal infinite universes, the feat of blowing all of them up is literally infinite times greater than just maintaining one of them and that was done by a fragment of a being who Etna was able to fight the entire being.
Boomstick: And while on the speed front, sure it's a lot fairer but anything is fairer than a literal infinite times difference. Morrigan moving across 200,000,000 light-years super fast is cool but dodging a universe-sucking-in black hole is a little better.
Wiz: On top of that Etna has more combat experience, even without Etna being alive for a thousand years more than Morrigan has.
Boomstick: And while Morrigan may have a ton of ways she can turn her clothes into weapons, Etna has way more unique skills and abilities, including summoning an army of debatably loyal penguins which are always something that. Also you know, the ability to turn into two people is cool and all but the ability to turn into five people is way better.
Wiz: While on paper, Morrigan does have various abilities that Etna doesn't have any counters to such as poisons, putting her to sleep or giving her a kiss of death.
Boomstick: Hot.
Wiz: Not now. But all of these abilities are only used in non-combative situations against opponents that Morrigan isn't going to fight fair because they're too weak or because she's already defeated them.
Boomstick: And Morrigan, being the battle-hungry vixen that she is, would totally want to fight Etna instead of just killing her with dreams or kisses.
Wiz: And that was her biggest flaw, Morrigan loves to battle and hungers for the thrill of the fight but Etna is a survivalist and is very practical when it comes to fighting, even going as far as to instantly beat opponents by shooting them when their guard is down. And that's not even talking about Etna's volatile temper which someone as haughty as Morrigan would easily set off, whether she wanted to or not.
Boomstick: Well that Succs, Morrigan wanted to win but it all fell Flat.
Loud Off-Screen Voice: I SWEAR IF THAT WAS ANOTHER FLAT JOKE, YOU'LL BE THE NEXT LOSER ON YOUR SHOW!
Wiz:... The winner is Etna...
Winner: Etna:
- + Is infinitely stronger
- + Has an additional form which makes her stronger
- + Is far faster
- + Likely has more combat experience
- + Four clones are greater than one clone
- + Can always call upon Prinnies for backup
- - Has far fewer weapons than Morrigan does
Loser: Morrigan Aensland:
- + Has a far greater healing factor
- + Has far more weapons than Etna does
- + Morrigan has many abilities that could let her win
- - However she would never use them in a fight
- - One clone is fewer than four clones
- - Is infinitely weaker
- - Has no additional forms to increase her strength
- - Is far slower

Trivia[]
Connections:
- Etna and Morrigan are the most popular succubi in video games with both characters being the most popular characters in their respective franchises.
- Etna and Morrigan are both demonic succubi from demon worlds where they are close to the rules and they travel to various worlds in search of fun while shirking their duties.
- Etna and Morrigan also share backstories where they are adopted by rulers of their demon worlds and had to have portions of their power removed from them otherwise it would kill them, with them getting back said power after meeting their siblings.
- In the Prinny Games, Etna is the Overlord and ruler of the Netherworld after Laharl died, just like how Morrigan became the Head of the Aensland Household after her father died.
- The Disgaea series has referenced the Darkstalkers a number of times with the typical Succubus and Nekomata classes that appear in every game taking many design elements from Morrigan and Felicia. It is likely that the elements of Etna's backstories are a reference to Morrigan.
- Etna and Morrigan have met each other in the crossover game Cross Edge.
Original Track[]
The original track for this battle would be called "The Overlord's Savior". The track is named after the Japanese name for one of the Darkstalker games, Vampire Savior and the title of Overlord which is a common title in the Disgaea series.
Q&A[]
Why were gameplay feats used for Etna?
- That's because gameplay feats should be fine for a video game character to use. Even if they weren't used, there are plenty of feats from the story of Disgaea that get Etna to be this strong.
Why do you use statements from other games to confirm the size of Disgaea's multiverse?
- Because Disgaea and almost every game developed by Nippon Ichi Software are placed within the same multiverse with constant interactions between them all. Most places like VS Battle Wiki even has every NIS series under the same verse so it isn't unheard of to do so.
Isn't Morrigan scaled higher than most places do?
- Yes, however, I don't think it's unreasonable to get Morrigan to be this strong and that way the fight becomes far more even than if she was just put at Galaxy Level or lower.
Why was every piece of non-crossover Darkstalkers media used?
- There are only two canonical Darkstalkers games so using feats and abilities found in manga and anime are completely fine since they are all officially licensed and don't contradict information within the games.
Would you want to see these characters fight in an actual crossover?
- I mean, they already did but I'd like to see these two crossover again.
How likely do you think this will become an actual Death Battle?
- I don't really know, Darkstalkers isn't that much of a priority (for proof, see the amount of time it took to get a second Darkstalkers episode), however, Morrigan is the most likely character to get an episode since she's easily the most popular character, so it just comes down to if Death Battle chooses Etna or one of Morrigan's more notable opponents.
