Ghost: Sometimes in an army there is one soldier that stands out among the rest as the strongest.
Ruby: And when it comes to these two combatants they have definitely shown that they are the strongest of their armies.
Ghost: Like Esdeath the Ice Queen
Ruby: And Sephiroth the One-Winged Angel
Ghost: I'm ghost and she's Ruby.
Ruby: And it's our jobs to analyze their armor, weapons and skills to find out who would win...a DEATH BATTLE!
Esdeath[]
(Cue Jaegers - Akame ga Kill!)
Ghost: The world of Akame Ga Kill is not a place you’d ever want to live in…
Ruby: The Government is corrupted due to a Prime Minister who really needs to go on a diet manipulating the young ruler, the crime rate is off the charts, and rich families lure people from the country who have traveled to the city and torture them or much worst…
Ghost: All in all there is one thing that rings true…The weak die and the strong survive
Ruby: And no one embodies these words or lives by them more than Esdeath...the Empire Strongest General.
Ghost: Esdeath was born a member of the Partas Clan a clan of hunters that specialized in Killing Danger Beasts and was the daughter of the Chief.
Ruby: Esdeath’s father lived by the aforementioned quote and Esdeath began to follow it as well but things soon changed.
Ghost: Esdeath went on an outing and returned to her Village only to find it had been destroyed with the clan members either died or dying and among them was her father who was mortally wounded and passed away in her arms.
Ruby: From that day forward…Esdeath vowed to become stronger and joined the Empire’s Military.
(Cue Inneni - Akame Ga Kill!)
Ghost: Esdeath is a highly skilled combatant; she is highly skilled in Hand-to-hand combat and possesses heightened physical strength being able to slam Seryu down to the ground with enough force to break it.
Ruby: She also has a Sixth Sense being able to sense the killing intent of anyone even at long distances and the presence of her opponents when they’re hidden.
Ghost: Esdeath also has incredible speed being able to react to a blast from Mine’s Pumpkin and is able to keep up with Akame.
Ruby: Esdeath also horrifyingly enough is an expert on torture and hasincredibly knowledge on human physiology.
Ghost: Esdeath can use this knowledge to her advantage in delivering cruel and horrible pain to her opponent making them suffer and in conjunction with her weapon makes her all the more terrifying.
Ruby: Esdeath primary weapon of choice is a rapier although it’s a lot more larger than the average rapier, she is incredibly skilled with it nonetheless using it with extreme precision and speed as well as being able to cut down multiple foes with a single attack.
Ghost: With all of this, Esdeath rose through the ranks of the Empire rapidly and because of this was allowed to choose a Teigu.
(Cue Esdeath - Akame Ga Kill!)
Ruby: The Teigu that Esdeath chose was the Demon God Manifestation: Demon’s Extract.
Ghost: The Teigu was created using the blood of a Ultra-Class Danger Beast however it was sealed off from the others because it was deemed too dangerous as whoever drank them had their psyche destroyed and went insane.
Ruby: Except Esdeath and here's the kicker… you're supposed to drink one cup and that would have been enough...Esdeath on the other hand...DRANK THE WHOLE THING! And tamed it!
Ghost: As a result, Esdeath was named the strongest General in the Imperial Army and the Teigu further cements this.
Ruby: The Demon Extract gave Esdeath the ability of Cryokinesis and this allows her to manipulate ice and even generate it without the use of any outside Water source, she can freeze opponents in ice and trap them and is even capable of freezing an entire river.
Ghost: Esdeath can use them for a variety of techniques like Weissschnabel in which she creates several Icicles and launch them at her opponent.
Ruby: Grauhorn is a move where she creates a giant horn of ice out of thin air to pierce their target.
Ghost: Hagelsprung is a move where she creates a large sphere of ice and uses it to crush her opponents.
Ruby: But that’s not all that Esdeath can do…she can create ice around her body and use it as a makeshift armor and is strong enough to stop a blow from Akame’s own Teigu, Murasame.
Ghost: Also she can levitate by creating ice around parts of her body and having it floats allowing her to levitate or allow her to fly.
(Cue Nanteki - Akame Ga Kill!)
Ruby: But that all hails in comparison to Esdeath’s deadliest ability, most Teigu in Akame Ga Kill have an ability exclusive to them called a “Trump Card” however Esdeath’s Teigu does not come with a trump card however instead Esdeath created one something that is deemed impossible.
Ghost: This trump card is called...um...How do you pronounce this?
Ruby: Mahapadma.
Ghost: Thanks, This trump Card allows Esdeath to freeze time and space and when activated only the user in this case Esdeath is able to move around.
Ruby: However Esdeath has one last move called Ice Calvary a move in which Esdeath creates an army of Centaur Soldiers made of ice.
Ghost: Esdeath’s title of the strongest in the Empire is definitely well earned but she does have her weaknesses; If she uses her Teigu on a scale like when she froze that river it will make her unable able to use her Teigu for a while, Mahapadma…did I say that right?
Ruby: Yep!
Ghost: Yes! Mahapadma drains Esdeath considerably and she can only use it once a day, she is also incredibly bloodthirsty and will make her opponents suffer rather than killing them right away, and will sometimes let her opponents survive for future battles.
Ruby: But despite this Esdeath is one person you do not want to cross paths with.
Esdeath: The weak are destined to lie beneath the boots of the strong. If that angers you, overcome your deficits.
Sephiroth[]
(Cue Black Water - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children)
Ghost: SOLDIER an elite fighting force in the Shinra Electric Power Company comprised of some of the most skilled warriors such as Genesis Rhapsosdos, Angeal Hewley, and Zack Fair.
Ruby: However among the many members of SOLDIERS, only one stood out and is the most renowned member and his name is Sephiroth.
Ghost: Sephiroth is the son of professor Hojo and Lucrecia Crescent and was an also an experiment in the “Jenova Project” a series of experiments with the goal of creating a human hybrid with a supposed ancient named Jenova an alien entity that was actually responsible for the near extinction of the Cetra.
Ruby: While Sephiroth was still unborn, Hojo injected Jenova Cells into Lucrecia and as Sephiroth began merging with the Jenova cells as he began developing and after being born while he did not posses what they needed...They used Sephiroth as the poster boy for SOLDIER and simply told him that his mother’s name Jenova and nothing of his father.
Ghost: But that would all change during one fateful mission to the town of Niblehiem where Sephiroth discovered Jenova and learned that he was her “son” and came to believe that he was “ancient” as well.
Ruby: Sephiroth killed almost everyone in the town and set out for revenge for his “ancestors”…
(Cue The Face of Lost Pride - Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core)
Ghost: As a result of the Jenova Project and as a SOLDIER 1st Class, Sephiroth is an incredibly dangerous combatant; He is capable of taking on fellow SOLDIER 1st Class Angeal Hewley and Genesis Rhapsosdos at once by himself and is capable of overpowering 1st Class SOLDIER Zack Fair.
Ruby: Sephiroth possess incredible strength being able to jump great heights.
Ghost: Sephiroth also has some pretty amazing durability; he has endured multiple fireballs from Genesis hitting him from every direction, survived being impaled by Cloud from behind, and being sent crashing through a building.
Ruby: Sephiroth’s a master swordsman and his primary weapon of choice is the Masamune...whoa! Now that's a katana!
Ghost: Technically it's a ōdachi, a Japanese great sword commonly used by Calvary however the Masamune is longer clocking in at six-to-eight feet and despite its absurd length when in Sephiroth’s hands it's anything but impractical.
Ruby: Sephiroth can swing Masamune faster than the human eye can see and is capable of cutting through solid metal and concrete with ease.
Ghost: Sephiroth is able to use a variety of techniques because of this like Draw Slash, Reaper, Transience, Fervent Blow, Sudden Cruelty, Oblivion, Godspeed, Scintilla, Hell’s Gate, and Heaven’s Light.
Ruby: But his most devastating attack and most signature one is the Octoslash a series of multiple sword strikes and despite its name…it’s not always eights slashes.
Ghost: Sephiroth can also manipulate the cells of Jenova allowing him to shapeshift her cells into him or other forms and act through them and can also manipulate the minds of people or creatures with Jenova cells and can take complete control over them if their mind is weak enough.
Ruby: However this can only work on beings with Jenova cells in them.
Ghost: And true to his title, Sephiroth also can manifest a lone black wing on his back enabling him to fly.
(Cue First Mission - Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core)
Ruby: But wait! There’s more!
Ghost: like all characters in Final Fantasy, Sephiroth can use magic however after his immersion in the lifestream and assimilation with Jenova, he is capable of using it without the need of Materia.
Ruby: Sephiroth’s can use some pretty lethal attacks like Shadow Flare a spell where he creates four black orbs that surrounds his target and converge on his opponent.
Ghost: Heartless Angel another one of Sephiroth’s signature is a spell that brings the targets HP down to 1.
Ruby: Sephiroth can also launch blade beams from Masamune capable of cutting through the metal and concrete just like his sword.
Ghost: However this all hails in comparison to two of his most devastating attacks.
Ruby: The first is Black Materia, in which Sephiroth summons a giant meteor.
Ghost: And then there is Supernova…in which Sephiroth summons a comet or star and dealing massive damage as well as causing gravity-damage and inflicts confuse, silence and slow to the victim.
(Cue Savior - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children)
Ruby: Sephiroth is without a doubt a powerful opponent but he is not without faults.
Ghost: Sephiroth can be extremely arrogant and this has led him to be caught off guard in certain occasions, he is a little bit…okay…completely insane and he has been defeated by Cloud on multiple occasions and was defeated by the Warrior of Light.
Ruby: But despite this Sephiroth is among the most dangerous antagonist in all of Final Fantasy…and is the last person you want to cross…
Sephiroth: Absurd. Defeating me is meaningless. You know that more than anyone, Cloud. No matter how many times I fall, your darkness keeps calling me back!
DEATH BATTLE[]
Ghost: All right, it looks like the combatants are set!
Ruby: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!
Esdeath was sitting in her room drawing her and Tatsumi in her book however she stopped when she heard a knock on her door.
Esdeath: Enter…
A soldier entered her room and quickly bowed his head.
Soldier: General! The Emperor and the Prime Minister have summoned you…its urgent!
Esdeath stood up and looked at the soldier and simply walking past him and putting her hat on and unknowing to the soldier…she had a rather dark smile on her face.
Esdeath entered the throne room and saw the Emperor, Prime Minister Honest and a soldier holding a small black rectangular box with a tape sealing it. Esdeath bowed her head and quickly lifted it up looking at the emperor.
Esdeath: Hello your majesty…what is so urgent? Is it Night Raid?
Esdeath was silently hoping that it was Night Raid because she really wanted to see Tatsumi again…she needed to too fight him so that she could see just how stronger he had become.
Emperor: No, recently our scouts discovered a ruined town out in the country and in that town was mansion with a lab of some kind and in the lab they discovered this box along with some papers that spoke of a “Jenova” and how this box supposedly contains the remains of it.
Esdeath: Oh?
The Emperor gestured towards the soldier holding the box.
Emperor: However before they could look further they were suddenly attack by something…
The soldier looked at Esdeath and when she met his gaze, he quickly jumped a bit in fear on what might happen.
Soldier #2: It looked like a man but he was…inhuman…in a single strike nearly all of us were dead…I took the box and the notes and ran…
Esdeath Looked at the box the soldier was carrying and quickly looked back at the soldier however before she could say anything there was sounds of fighting only for a beam of light to break through the door making its way towards the emperor who quickly jumped off his chair to the side as it hit cutting the throne in half.
Everyone looked at the cut in half throne and what could have been the emperor.
???: I believe you have something I’m looking for…
Everyone looked in the direction of the door and saw none other than the Sephiroth with Masamune drawn and pointed it at the soldier holding the remains of Jenova which caused the soldier to panic however Esdeath stepped in his path with a smile on her face.
Esdeath: And who would you be?
Sephiroth simply raised his arms while still holding Masamune in his left.
Sephiroth: I am the chosen one. I have been chosen to rule this planet.
Sephiroth quickly charged at Esdeath and swung his sword however Esdeath quickly pulled out her rapier and swung as well causing their swords to clash; Esdeath quickly broke the clash and quickly kicked Sephiroth sending him crashing into a wall.
Sephiroth: Impressive.
(Cue Controlling the Iron Beast - Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core)
Sephiroth quickly recovered and looked at Esdeath with a smile on his face…this was going to be interesting, Sephiroth raised Masamune and entered his combat stance with Esdeath raising her Rapier and pointing it at her opponent keeping that same smile on her face…she could tell that her opponent was strong…she want to see just how strong he was...
Sephiroth: Show me your strength.
Esdeath: With pleasure…
Announcer: Fight!
Esdeath quickly closed the distance between them and swinging her rapier however Sephiroth blocked each strike however on the last strike Sephiroth quickly entered a guard stance and when the attack hit knocked Esdeath back and Sephiroth swung his sword again with the attacking hitting Esdeath multiple times and he quickly swung Masamune a second time again hitting Esdeath and sending her crashing into the destroyed throne.
Sephiroth: Foolish child…
Sephiroth looked at the Soldier only to see that he, the Prime Minister and the child they called an Emperor were gone and they had left what he was after behind and moved towards however much to his surprise, Esdeath stood up with a darker smile than before on her face.
Esdeath: Oh…well that was impressive.
Esdeath put her hands together and quickly spread her arms out and much to Sephiroth’s surprise several icicles appeared out of thin air and with a flick of her wrist were launched towards Sephiroth, he quickly leapt back as one of the icicles stabbed into the spot he was previously standing…Sephiroth quickly put his sword to his side as if he was sheathing it and when they reached him, he quickly move to unsheathe it and swung it the slash extending and hitting all the icicles and destroying them.
Sephiroth swung Masamune again this time launching an energy blade at Esdeath however she quickly swung her rapier breaking through the attack and charged at Sephiroth thrusting her rapier multiple times in an attempt to stab Sephiroth however Sephiroth blocked each strike until Sephiroth blocked the last attempt causing their blade to clash.
Sephiroth: Hmph. Is that the best you can do?
Esdeath: Fufufu.
Esdeath breaks the clash and quickly thrusts her rapier forward however much to her surprise in a near mist like manner…Sephiroth disappeared and her rapier hit nothing but thin air, Esdeath quickly looked around and Sephiroth reappeared behind her however much to his surprise she quickly turned around as if she knew where he would appeared and kicked him square in the chest and with enough force to send him flying towards to the wall and crashing through it.
Esdeath quickly jumped through the hole after him and landed on a rooftop and looked around for Sephiroth but only saw the dark clouds covering the sky however she quickly turned around only to see Sephiroth leaping towards and swing his sword causing Esdeath to leap back as the attack missed and Sephiroth landed on the rooftop.
Sephiroth: Vanish.
(Cue Tsuwamono – Akame Ga Kill!)
Sephiroth dashes forwards and quickly delivers a quick short sword swing that Esdeath quickly avoids it however is surprised when Sephiroth spins around swings Masamune which Esdeath manages to block however she is knocked into the air by the attack and Sephiroth quickly leaps into the air after her and when he reaches her swings his swords multiple time with Esdeath quickly blocking each strike however on the last strike Sephiroth swings Masamune downward and knocks Esdeath downward.
Esdeath creates several icicles again and launches them at Sephiroth, when they reach them he quickly swings his sword slashing at each one that came at him however one of them manages to hit him directly in his right abdomen, Sephiroth grabs the icicle and pulls it out drawing blood however he ignores the pain and simply heads towards Esdeath.
Sephiroth swings Masamune and launches multiple energy blades at Esdeath and without enough time to do dodge, Esdeath raises her rapier and blocks all of them however Sephiroth quickly lunged forward and when he reached her swung his sword and hits Esdeath downward sending her crashing into the ground.
Esdeath hit the ground hard however before Sephiroth can do anything a large horn of ice appeared and began heading towards him, Sephiroth quickly leaps over it on it and sees Esdeath running along it towards him and when she reaches him slashes at him incredibly fast however Sephiroth parries each strike and on the last one counters with his own slash causing their blades to lock.
Esdeath quickly broke the clash and thrusted her rapier forward however Sephiroth leapt over her and landed behind her and swung his sword hitting Esdeath in her side however much to his surprise the blade was stopped by ice.
Esdeath quickly grabbed the blade of Masamune and lifted him over and slammed him down into the ice horn causing it to break and sending crashing through it, Sephiroth was falling however before he could do anything…Esdeath suddenly stomped onto him sending him crashing into the ground below.
The dust cleared and Esdeath was standing in a small crater with a black aura surrounding however Sephiroth was gone, Esdeath let out a small laugh as turned around to see Sephiroth standing their…
Sephiroth: Impressive…tell me…what are you reasons to fight?
Esdeath looked at Sephiroth curiously surprised by the question however the question interested her.
Esdeath: It is quite simple…you nearly killed the Emperor and as a General of the Empire’s army it is my duty to punish those who dare challenge the empire.
Sephiroth: So you fight…because it is your duty? Hmph, I think not.
Esdeath: (Curiously) Oh?
Sephiroth: You find pleasure in it just like me. You don’t fight because you’re told to…you fight for the sake of fighting…
(Cue Black and White - BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma)
Esdeath couldn’t help but smile at Sephiroth’s word, the dark aura surrounding her grew more intense however it didn’t faze Sephiroth as he raised Masamune again.
Esdeath: Well then, if you’re like me and find the pleasure in battle…prove to me your strength!
Esdeath raised her rapier and charged again prompting Sephiroth to try and defend against a sword thrust however Esdeath doesn’t do this instead puts her free hand out and grabs Sephiroth by the face.
Esdeath: Freeze…
Esdeath moved past Sephiroth and in almost an instant, Sephiroth was trapped in a block of ice…Esdeath turned around however just as she did the ice broke apart and Sephiroth was free, Sephiroth quickly closed the distance between them.
Sephiroth swings Masamune and charges upward knocking Esdeath into the air, Sephiroth quickly leapt after her and upon reaching her, Sephiroth swung his sword and charged upward knocking Esdeath further into the air.
Esdeath snaps her fingers and a large boulder of ice forms behind her and begins descending; Esdeath quickly spins out of the way as it begins to fall with Sephiroth in its path, Sephiroth swung his sword twice with one vertical slash and one horizontal one and the boulder of ice shattered into four however as it fell apart Esdeath flew through the destroyed ice and stabbed Sephiroth in his left shoulder with her rapier sending them both crashing into a nearby building.
Sephiroth stood up and looked around however when he did find Esdeath…he was immediately stabbed in his right eye causing Sephiroth to growl in pain as she pulled her rapier from his eye socket and watched as he covered it with his right hand.
Esdeath: Gouge out one eye…
Esdeath swung her rapier again slashing Sephiroth across the chest, she proceeded to slash and stab Sephiroth well…everywhere…shoulder, leg, arm, anywhere she knew she could inflict the most pain however she made sure to not make anything fatal…she didn’t want him to die just yet…
Esdeath: I don’t want you to die just yet, I want to see how much you can take and I have high expectations for how long you can stay alive…
Esdeath swings her rapier again however this time before it can connect Sephiroth disappears again causing her to hit nothing but air and she looked around and saw that Sephiroth appeared right behind and swung his sword and multiple streams of light come forward and hit Esdeath slashing her everywhere her ice armor unable to defend against the multitude of attacks and Sephiroth swung his sword again this time launching an energy blade at Esdeath who managed to block it with her rapier however was sent crashing through the wall.
Sephiroth: How dare you…!
When Sephiroth reached her, Esdeath was lying on the ground slowly getting back up and Sephiroth walked over to her and she quickly got up and swung her rapier however Sephiroth blocked the attack and knocked Esdeath away.
Upon reaching Esdeath, Sephiroth quickly raised Masamune and impaled her; he slowly lifted her off the ground with his sword.
Sephiroth: Don’t…test me!
Esdeath looked up to meet Sephiroth’s gaze and much to Sephiroth’s shock…she was smiling although a lot more sadistically as she used her free hand to grab the blade of Masamune and forced herself back onto the ground and lifted Sephiroth off the ground.
Sephiroth: Impossible!
Esdeath jerked to the side and threw Sephiroth across the room and into a wall, Sephiroth looked back at Esdeath however he was met with instead a giant horn of ice hitting him and sending him crashing through the wall into several nearby buildings.
(Cue Rasetsu Yonki - Akame Ga Kill!)
Sephiroth slowly got up and walked outside…when he made it outside, he looked around for his opponent but instead quickly leapt out of the way as a giant lance made of ice hit where he was previously standing and where it came from surprised him.
Standing before him was a giant centaur made entirely of ice and he looked around and saw several more surrounding the area he was in and he looked up at the top of a nearby rooftop guarded by two more centaurs was Esdeath her hands covered in a mist and with that same sadistic smile on her face.
Esdeath: (Laughs darkly) If this is the best you capable of taking, then I’m sorely disappointed.
Sephiroth glared at his opponent, he pointed Masamune in her direction.
Sephiroth: Taste the blade of a hero.
Esdeath: If it angers you then overcome your deficits.
Two of the centaurs charged forward at Sephiroth however with two quick sword swings launched two energy blades at the centaurs aimed directly at their legs cutting them off and causing them to fall to the ground, Sephiroth quickly jumped past them and as he did swung his sword and the heads of both centaurs detaching from their bodies falling to the ground and shattering.
Another centaur charged forward it’s lance at the ready and when it reached Sephiroth thrusted it’s lance forward however Sephiroth teleported and appeared behind it swung his sword and leapt of it, he looked in Esdeath’s direction and raised his sword in the air.
Four black orbs appeared around Esdeath who quickly formed ice around her wrists and ankles and she immediately flew up into the air narrowly avoiding them as they converged on where she was previously standing.
Sephiroth put his right arm out and a lone black wing appeared over his shoulder and spreads out causing some feathers to fall off, when Esdeath saw this he eyes widened however this only caused her to smile even more.
(Cue Olympus Mons - Brandon Yates)
Sephiroth: It’s time.
Sephiroth flew up after Esdeath and Esdeath flew right towards Sephiroth, both of them raised their swords and swung causing their blades to clash, Both flew back and quickly flew back towards each other both swinging their swords matching each other blow for blow.
Esdeath saw an opening and quickly thrusted her rapier forward however Sephiroth teleported away and quickly looked up to see him flying above her with a smile down at her, she quickly flew after her and Sephiroth did the same flying down towards her when they met both swung their swords causing another clash between their swords.
Sephiroth quickly broke the clash and swung his swords multiple times and Esdeath quickly blocked each strike as she was knocked into the sky further by each strike, Sephiroth quickly flew and swung his sword downward with Esdeath blocking the strike and being knocked down to the ground.
Esdeath landed on the ground and quickly moved out the way as Sephiroth brought his sword down in where she was previously only to hit the ground and looked in Esdeath direction to see that she was running along a nearby wall and quickly leapt of it towards him and he quickly flew to meet her and both swung their weapons causing their attacks to clash and for Esdeath to go over Sephiroth and land behind him just a couple of feet away.
Both of them turned around to face each other and quickly closed the distance and swung their swords causing their weapons to clash, Sephiroth broke the clash and leapt back raising his arm and putting it out.
Sephiroth: I’ll lead-
Sephiroth was cut off by Esdeath quickly flew up to Sephiroth and grabbed his right arm by the wrist and looked directly into his eyes wearing a sadistic smile as the arm began to be covered in ice and started spreading all the way to Sephiroth’s shoulder, when the limb was fully encased in ice she quickly tightened her grip with as much strength as she could and the arm shattered into a million pieces.
Sephiroth was to shocked to do anything as Esdeath quickly deliver a powerful kick to the former 1st Class SOLDIER sending him crashing down to the ground, Esdeath descended back down to the ground the ice allowing her to fly gone and walked over to Sephiroth who was now laying down in a pool of his own blood.
Esdeath slowly walked to Sephiroth her rapier drawn and smiled darkly at her downed opponent.
Esdeath: I won’t let you die easily. I will tear you apart limb by limb.
As Esdeath got closer and closer to Sephiroth, he slowly began to get up and tried to stand only to fall to his knees as blood shot out of where Sephiroth’s arm used to be.
Esdeath: The law of the world is survival of the fittest; it is only natural for the weak to perish…
Esdeath reached Sephiroth and looked down at her kneeling opponent; she raised her rapier about to end it until Sephiroth looked up at her causing blue eyes to meet green.
Sephiroth: I fear not death…
Esdeath: Then you face your death like a true warrior.
Esdeath thrusted her rapier forward however Sephiroth teleported disappearing and Esdeath turned around to see Sephiroth who had a light green aura surrounding him charging at her prompting her to raised her rapier to block the attack however when the attack met she was instead knocked into the air by the attack.
Sephiroth quickly leapt up into the air and when he reached her swung his sword multiple times with Esdeath blocking each one and he quickly fell back to the ground before leaping up past Esdeath above her.
Sephiroth: You will pay…
Sephiroth descending faster than Esdeath could possibly respond to switch is sword to a reverse grip and slashed Esdeath with a powerful slash when he reached her, Sephiroth landed back on the ground quickly switching back to his normal grip and turned around and saw Esdeath falling back down to the ground…he quickly thrusted Masamune forward just as she was about to hit the ground impaling the general in the chest.
Esdeath coughed up blood and grabbed the blade of Masamune in an attempt to try and get free.
Sephiroth: Is this the pain you felt before…general? Let me remind you. This time, you won't forget.
Sephiroth quickly swung Masamune upward launching Esdeath into the air and quickly flew after her and upon reaching her quickly swung his sword however Esdeath manages to block however it left her wide open and Sephiroth quickly stabbed Esdeath in her shoulder and proceeded to stab Esdeath over and over again until stabbing her one final time and swinging downward sending her crashing down to the ground.
Esdeath was now in the previous position Sephiroth was…lying on the ground in a pool of her own blood while Sephiroth watched from the air.
Sephiroth: Tell me what you cherish most. Give me the pleasure of taking it away.
Sephiroth raised Masamune ready to end this fight and flew down towards Esdeath who manages to get on her feet and look up at Sephiroth putting her hands together and a blue orb formed in between them and the blue orb soon began surrounding Esdeath.
Sephiroth: Stop!
Sephiroth swung Masamune just as he reached Esdeath but it was too late.
(Music stops)
Esdeath: Mahapadma.
The blue orb expanded to everything surrounding Esdeath and when it did everything stopped moving including Sephiroth’s with his blade near centimeters from Esdeath’s head, Esdeath looked at the frozen Sephiroth.
Esdeath: This is my trump card…it was made to never let the one I cherish escape me again and to defeat any opponent without fail. I’ve frozen time and space.
Esdeath thrusted her rapier forward stabbing Sephiroth in the chest and pulled it out only to cough up blood and stumble back as time resumed and Sephiroth crashed into the ground. Esdeath fell to her knees coughing up more blood.

Sephiroth got up and looked at his kneeling opponent.
Sephiroth: Your fear will be gone in a flash.
Sephiroth swings Masamune upward and Esdeath unable to defend against the attack takes the hit and gets knocked in the air for what would be the final time and Sephiroth flew up after her but stomps and “sheathes” Masamune.
Sephiroth: I bring you despair…
Sephiroth begins glowing with a blue aura as electricity began sparking around him and as the blade of Masamune glows as well.
Sephiroth: Ruination to all.
Sephiroth swings Masamune for the final times and slashes Esdeath knocking her further to the air and Esdeath looks behind her see what looks like a comet heading directly towards her, Esdeath simply looked forward but let out a very weak smile.
Esdeath: (Thinking) It seems I was weaker…it is the way things are…
Esdeath made no attempt to try and do anything as the comet came full force engulfing her while Sephiroth flew back towards the castle and entered the throne room, he limped towards where the box containing the remains of his mother laid.
Sephiroth picked it the box and held it close.
Sephiroth: Mother…let’s take back the planet together.
Sephiroth teleported away just as the comet collided with the capital…destroying everything in the area.
Announcer: M-M-MONSTER KILL!
Weeks later…Akame, Leone, Najenda and Tatsumi arrived at the massive crater that was once the capital of the Empire.
Tatsumi: W-W-What happened?
No one responded as they were too busy pondering that same exact question themselves…

Ruby: Well besides the fact just kill millions, why did she just accept defeat like that?
Ghost: Esdeath really follows the creed her father told her “The strong survive and the week die” something both he and Esdeath followed to heart and when he died he viewed it as him being weak and in this case it’s the same for Esdeath…Sephiroth proved that he was stronger than Esdeath and that she was weak…thus her death was simply how thing were meant to be for her... the weak being weeded out by the strong.
Ruby: Wow…anyway this battle was an uphill battle for Esdeath that she unfortunately she couldn't win however she actually did have some advantages.
Ghost: In terms of experience, Esdeath was possibly slightly more experienced than Sephiroth having hunted Danger beasts when she was a kid and her sixth sense was the perfect counter for Sephiroth’s teleporting.
Ruby: Esdeath was definitely able to match Sephiroth’s sword play and was more versatile of the two thanks to her Teigu making Sephiroth stay on alert.
Ghost: Also Sephiroth couldn’t use his control over Jenova cells to try and manipulate Esdeath for two reasons. 1) Esdeath does not contain Jenova cells in her body for him to manipulate.
Ruby: And 2) Even if Esdeath did have Jenova Cells in her by some means of deus ex machina or if he found a way to get Jenova cells in her body, he wouldn’t be able to manipulate her because Esdeath’s mind isn’t weak and this is best demonstrated when she first obtained the Demon’s Extract as she was able to not only resist the Teigus attempt to destroy her psyche but also overcame it and tamed the Teigu making it highly unlikely that Sephiroth would be able to manipulate her even if she did have Jenova cells in her.
Ghost: Butttt…this is where her advantages end and where her disadvantages come in…keep in mind, Esdeath is a sadist and this trait extends to her in battle instead of killing her opponent immediately she simply tortures them dragging their pain out as much as possible and against someone like Sephiroth this isn’t something you should do…so any chance Esdeath had to kill Sephiroth she instead chose to drag out the pain she inflicted on him.
Ruby: She was also unfortunately outclassed in terms of destructive capabilities as Sephiroth could use either Meteor or Supernova to destroy the capital or possibly the planet.
Ghost: Sephiroth also had the better weapon between the two with Masamune besides being absurdly long is able to too cut through solid metal and solid concrete.
Ruby: Esdeath’s ice isn’t that special…its ice…Tatsumi can cut clean through it with Neuntote and Esdeath said to Akame herself that Akame's own strength wouldn't be enough to break the ice and Sephiroth was far stronger than Akame and a lot faster than her as well meaning he would definitely be able to cut through the ice.
Ghost: In terms of durability this is where Sephiroth also has the advantage having survive being impaled by Cloud with the buster sword, being bombarded with fireball fired from Genesis and being sent through a build as well plus Sephiroth was not only able to stand after being impaled but return the favor to Cloud by impaling Cloud as well.
Ruby: But that didn't mean Sephiroth would win flawlessly he also had a few issues of his own to worry about one of which was his arrogance which has lead to him being captured off guard on some occasions’ two of which were when Cloud overpowered him in Crisis Core after Sephiroth had impaled him and in Advent Children by Cloud again when he performed Omnislash version 5 which.
Ghost: Esdeath’s trump card did return the advantage back to her however it wasn’t for very long and she could only use it once a day.
Ruby: Esdeath was unfortunately despite being the Empire’s Strongest General was simply outclassed in a fight that she starred in.
Ghost: Is that supposed to be a pun or something?
Ruby: Yes…Why?
Ghost: Oh...no reason.
Ruby: Oh okay, Anyway, the winner is Sephiroth.
