Redshock: When in the face of war you must fight no matter the cost, and sometimes you have to transform yourself to survive
Mortician: Like Eren Jaeger, the Titan Shifter for the Survey Corps
Redshock: And Bayverse Optimus Prime, Micheal Bay’s leader of the heroic Autobots.
Eren Jaeger[]
Mortician: As a child, Eren Jaeger lived in a peaceful household with his Family and adoptive sister Mikasa.
Redshock: Until a Titan broke through Wall Maria and led an army of Titans in destroying Eren’s village. Quick question: why are all the Titans naked?
Mortician: It’s complicated, anyway after witnessing his mother’s death, Eren, Mikasa, his best friend Armin and thousands of residents from the Shiganshina District fled to the next town for safety.
Redshock: Eren had made a vow to kill all titans, by promising that Eren joined the 104th Training Corp in hopes of becoming a Scout. And you can’t be a scout without knowing how to use an ODM or Omi-Directional Mobility Gear take it away nerd!
Mortician: Don’t call me a nerd, anyway the ODM Gear allows the user to shoot grappling ropes to allow greater mobility for fighting Titans. It requires special training to even know how to make it work, it requires a specific gas to manage, it also has hand grips which can be used to attach blades that are strong enough to cut through a Titan’s neck and body parts.
Redshock: But that’s not the only thing Eren has in his arsenal, turns out his daddy wasn’t your normal doctor, he actually created a serum that was capable of turning a human into a Titan, and the best guinea pig was his own son, real father of the year.
Mortician: Standing at 7 Meters Tall or 22 Feet tall, Eren can transform himself by drawing his blood in turning into the Attack Titan.
Redshock: Attack Titan, Attack on Titan, real clever guys.
Mortician: Let me explain, The Attack Titan is one of Nine Abnormal Titans that were human and can turn into Titans by drawing blood. Like Reiner can turn into the Armored Titan, or Annie can turn into the Female Titan.
Redshock: All the Titans were created by Ymir, a girl who almost died and turned into a Titan, so King Fritz married her and have three children each named after a Wall used to guard Paradis Island where Eren and his friends and family grew up behind the walls.
Mortician: Once transformed into the Attack Titan, Eren can punch Titan’s heads off, can carry boulders that weigh hundreds of tons, and can break the Armor of the Armored Titan with his martial art skills.
Redshock: Eren also possesses a strong healing factor, he can regrow limbs in seconds, and combined with his tough Durability he can tank massive damage, he can take hits from the likes of Reiner and Annie and stand back up on his toes quickly from them, despite having his jaw destroyed and being punched hundreds of feet.
Mortician: Eren also gains the power of other Titans by consuming them.
Redshock: Define Consume?
Mortician: He’s basically a Cannibal
Redshock: What The Fuck?! How am I going to root for this guy now?! He eats people!
Mortician: Well technically yes and no, in Titan Form Eren eats them to gain their power like his Hardening Technique…
Redshock: *Chuckles*
Mortician: Are you going to take this seriously?!
Redshock: Yeah, Yeah, Whatever, his *Chuckles again* Hardening Technique can create Crystal like rock all over his body from his hands to his entire Titan form, and after consuming the Warhammer Titan, Eren can make a web of pillars from them that is strong enough to hold a cave ceiling and can pierce through Titan bodies.
Mortician: Eren also has a psychic ability called The Coordinate, which allows Eren to control Titans and can erase memories of others.
Redshock: Eren is not what you would call a “chill” guy, if Eren gets too angry in his Titan form he can unleash a Berserker form that increases his physicality making his skin hot enough to melt Titan flesh.
Mortician: And after freeing Ymir Fritz from the Path, he gained the power of the Founding Titan that makes him taller than towers and is able to undo all forms of Titan Hardening in an instant. And he can create empty vessels of former Titan Shifters like Porco’s Jaw Titan and Bertholdt’s Colossal Titan under his bidding.
Redshock: Eren has done a lot for just a kid, he was ranked 5th among the 104th, has the highest number of Titan kills, killed over 20 Titans in the Battle of Trost, defeated the Female Titan, Colossal Titan, and Armored Titan who all have had training in the past, and lead an army of Titans across the globe and wiped out at least 80% of the World’s population, I thought Eren was a good guy?.
Mortician: To some people he is but to others he became something that he always hated and by doing so changed him for better or for worse.
Redshock: Yeah Eren may sound like a crazy badass, but he isn’t without his flaws, his record in fighting the 8 Titans isn’t perfect as he had lost to the Female Titan in their first fight. And his own Titan doesn’t possess any special Abilities of its own like the other 8.
Mortician: Eren also has uncontrollable rage in his Titan form sometimes attacking his own teammates and can go a bit overkill. While being a Titan Shifter his nape on his neck is a major weakness like all Titans once that’s severed he loses control of his Titan.
Redshock: But one thing is certain about Eren, peace can never be achieved unless every enemy of his is dead.
Eren: “I just keep moving forward until my enemies are destroyed”.
Optimus Prime[]
Mortician: Long ago before becoming Prime, Optimus was part of one of many tribes that constituted Cybertronian society in eons past. At the time, Cybertron had no star to orbit and minimal resources, but Optimus would be recruited by Sentinel Prime to help him find the legendary AllSpark, the wellspring of all Cybertronian life
Redshock: Optimus and fellow recruit Megatron were all heralded as heroes for giving Cybertronians cause to unite. But Sentinel Prime had grown old and weary and refused to lead the Cybertronians, and, in confidence, he revealed to Optimus that he was a Prime, and that he ought to succeed him as leader
Mortician: For two generations, Optimus and Megatron ruled Cybertron together. The two personalities created a balance; Prime was fair while Megatron was firm. But Megatron wasn’t so keen on Optimus being the main leader.
Redshock: Megatron had intimidated Optimus into giving him supreme power in defense of the planet with two often clashing against one another.
Mortician: But when Commander Starscream attacked the Cybertrons, they were soon at war with each other with Megatron forming his new faction, the Decepticons. Cybertron became engulfed in a devastating civil war which lasted for decades, leaving the planet in ruins and depleted of resources.
Redshock: In order to prevent the AllSpark from falling into Megatron's clutches, Optimus ordered his Autobots to jettison the cube into space, far from anyone's reach and it somehow landed on Earth with the Autobots tracking it and later scanned a semi truck to use as his alternate form into what we all know as Optimus Prime.
Mortician: As the last of the Primes, Optimus is one of the most, if not the most powerful Cybertronian, with seemingly only Megatron and Lockdown being on par. He has immense strength that can equal Megatron as he lifted Starscream and sent him flying, knocking Megatron out and causing damage.
Redshock: He is also superiorly fast as he was shown to outrun helicopters on foot, and to even outrun Sentinel Prime. Optimus is also extremely durable, practically immune to human weaponry.
Mortician: The only way to truly slay Optimus is to pierce the spark in his chest, which only Megatron's Cybertronian blade was shown to be capable of doing. However, this is no longer an issue, with the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus survived being stabbed again by Lockdown.
Redshock: And sense he is made of living transformium metal, which allows him to heal from serious wounds at superhuman rates like when he was able to heal when Lockdown impaled him with his sword which isn't enough to fully kill him, but restrain him.
Mortician: Optimus can also store and summon tons of Cybertron weapons from his body. He primary uses Ion Blaster, Barrage Cannons, Machine Gun, Dual Energon Swords, Hand-Held Energon Sword, Rusty Dual Energon Sword, Knuckle-Spikes, Energon Hooks, Energon Axe, Shield, Thermal Cannon, Thermal Machine gun, Missile, Quad Barrel Shotgun, and Knuckle-Spikes.
Redshock: And like any good Transformer, he can turn himself into a car, more specifically a blue and red flamed 379 Peterbilt truck but in later movies it has been changed to a rusty Marmon 97 and Western Star 5700 XE semi-trailer truck.
Mortician: Optimus is also an exceptionally formidable hand-to-hand combatant capable of only losing to Megatron, the Fallen, Lockdown, and Sentinel Prime. He is also a formidable Swordsman, Axe Combatant, and Master Marksman.
Redshock: Optimus is certainly powerful but he does carry his weaknesses, he’s died once in every iteration, his niceness and compassion can be used against him, and he tends to hold his full strength as he’s afraid of harming those around him.
Mortician: But when he is back up against a wall and all hell is breaking loose, he’ll fight to the end leading his team to the eye of the storm.
Optimus “Fate rarely calls upon us at the moment of our choosing”.
Death Battle[]
Prologue[]
On Paradis Island outside Wall Maria, dozens of Titans are swarming the city’s walls with Eren Jaeger planning on what to do next. Until he hears a loud Vroom!, and sees a shiny red and blue truck driving over the Titans.
He then sees the machine turn into a large man-like figure, Eren was intrigued and cautious as the figure walked up to the walls and talked directly to Eren “My name is Optimus Prime leader of the Autobots you shall not harm the humans of this planet!”.
Eren was confused, obviously he knew Titans weren’t Humans anymore and he thought Optimus was an Abnormal Metal Titan he says “You're not from around here I assume?”. Optimus said “Leave the Humans alone, they are under my protection”. Eren was now strutting to feel annoyed he zipped off the wall with his ODM Gear and drew out his blades as he yelled “You want to protect them! Fine! But you're gonna have to go through me!”.
FIGHT![]
Eren swings ODM around Optimus and uses his swords to slash at the nape of his neck, but Optimus’s metal exterior was too tough to cut through as Eren’s blades shatter upon impact. With Optimus swinging his hand and smacking Eren sending him dozens of yards away from Wall Maria. He lands as several Titans are ready to eat him; he bites his hand as yellow lighting appears, stunning Optimus “By The Matrix!”.
Eren had transformed into the Attack Titan, Eren’s eyes glowed as he lets out a terrible roar “GROOWWWLLLL!”, he then sprinted at Optimus as he raised his fist to attack. Only Optimus had done the same and the two behemoths clashed. With Eren hitting Optimus in the face with his fist coated in his Hardening crystals, with several metal plating from Optimus’s face and jaw breaking from Eren’s punch.
He then readied another punch only Optimus dodges it in time and grabs Eren by the throat and lifts him from the air and slammed him down on the ground causing a massive shockwave. Optimus had placed his foot on Eren’s chest, Eren struggling to free himself, had roared again and managed to use his other foot to sweep Optimus’s legs from under him knocking him onto the ground.
Eren got up quicker than Optimus so he grabbed Optimus' neck and got him in a chokehold, only for Optimus to breakfree from his grip and get up with Eren on his back and flips him over his back. Optimus branshied an axe and raised it up to swing onto Eren, only Eren blocked the Axe with his left hand and sliced it cleanly through. He gets back up with his arm completely healed in seconds.
Eren then used his Hardening Technique to create several spikes in front of his body towards Optimus, with several of them piercing Optimus' chest. While it did hurt him, he used a Sword to break free from the crystal spikes with Eren rushing at him in a sprint. Optimus transformed back into his truck form as Eren grew closer and used a fallen Titan to drive over and use it like a ramp and the Truck smashed into Eren’s face.
Eren roared as he took a few steps back as his face was smashed and smoke started to emit from it and started to heal, Optimus changed back and punched Eren in the face staffering the Attack Titan and dropping him back to the ground. But Eren pulled himself together and grabbed Optimus leg as he got closer and tripped Optimus again and managed to trap his leg with his arms as his legs wrapped around Optimus’s head.
However as Eren tried to squeeze the life out of Optimus, only he uses his Sword again to cut Eren’s hands, freeing himself. Eren roared as his hands grew back but Optimus kneeled down on Eren’s chest and began to punch him with his massive metal fists, with each fist causing a loud and crushing blow through Eren’s skull to the ground, Optimus had used his Sword and cut Eren’s throat and pushes his blade’s handle and cuts through Eren’s head severing the Attack Titan’s head from its body.
Optimus, thinking it was over, was shocked as the Attack Titan’s body had emitted another electric bolt and had turned into a large skeleton appendage erupts from the Titan’s socket plunging into Eren’s head as Eren transforms into the Founding Titan. He lets out an ear splitting roar that was 10x louder than his previous roars.
The Walls that protected the city on the outside started to demolish as Eren started to control giant Titans that were from the inside of the walls and started to march towards Optimus. The Army of Titans were closing in on Optimus as he used his Axe and started to hack and slash through the Titan’s bodies. With Optimus controlling the battlefield, Eren had summoned the other Titans, the Jaw, Armor, Beast, Cart, Warhammer, Female, and Colossal Titans to attack the Autobot leader.
But Optimus sees the other Titans as he finishes the horde of Colossal Titans, he first attacks the Armored Titan by uppercutting his jaw and slices his head from his neck with his Axe while midair. He then grabbed the Jaw Titan who was already in the air to jump on the Autobot, and threw him, knocking the Beast Titan down. He uses his axe again to decapitate the Cart Titan with ease. Optimus sees the Warhammer Titan reading it’s giant mallet, he grabs the mallet as it smacks down onto him, he manages to pull the mallet away from the Warhammer with Optimus using the same mallet to squash the Warhammer Titan with a single swing.
Optimus sees the Colossal was getting close to him, so he flies up in the air and uses his Sword to slice the Colossal’s neck, with the Colossal Titan’s body falling onto the unconscious Beast and Jaw Titans killing them. The remaining Wall Titans from the previous Walls were drawing closer to Optimus, but he stood his ground and drew his Ion Blaster and started to shoot the heads of the Wall Titans exploding each one with a single shot.
With very few Wall Titans left, Optimus transfixed his eyes onto the Founding Titan, Optimus turned back into a truck and drove toward Eren, with Eren slamming his hand onto Optimus, hurt but not out of the fight, Optimus had used his jet boosters to lift Eren’s hand and pushes it off of him and flies towards Eren’s face and uses the Matrix of Leadership from his chest cavity as the powerful blast strikes Eren’s face.
Eren’s head fell down from the massive explosion and Optimus raised his sword in the air as the remaining Wall Titans stood frozen.

Redshock: Woah! That’s how you end a fight!
Mortician: You can say that again, both Eren and Optimus both share similar combat experience with both of them having several ways to attack and counterattack one another.
Redshock: Eren’s Hardening was strong to match Optimus’s metal body and his Hardening Spikes could counter Optimus’s Advanced Weaponry.
Mortician: However Eren had defeated other Titan Shifters like Annie and Reiner which is impressive in his universe but to Optimus it’s nothing compared to what he went through.
Redshock: Optimus had defeated Megatron, a gladiator who fought through the Deception Pits and Unicron who was larger than a Planet itself. Plus his Matrix of Leadership was way stronger than anything Eren could take.
Mortician: With Optimus’s Stronger Physicality, Skilled Strategy, Longer Experience, and Advanced Weaponry he had the power to bring down the Founding Titan
Redshock: Looks like Optimus still got the touch while Eren didn’t have his head in the game

- Both are controversial characters and protagonists. Eren would eventually go on to literally commit genocide via unleashing The Rumbling, and there’s a reason a good portion of the Transformers fandom refers to Bayformers OP as “Murder Prime” and among other monikers, “Optimus Warcrime” as this cinematic version of OP is much more brutal and violent than most other incarnations
- They both committed “warcrimes”. However, while Eren literally does commit genocide and killed many Marleyan civilians, the “warcrimes” of Bayverse Optimus Prime are more akin to criticism pointing out his increasingly violent actions throughout the movies. Bayverse OP is also the most violent and brutal version of Optimus Prime.
- They went through major trauma and lost many precious allies. Their franchises (AoT and Bayformers) and creators (Hajime Isayama and Michael Bay) are also known/hated for killing off fan favorite characters throughout the series. (Eren has lost his mother, a close family friend, and the original members of the Levi squad and others, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet met tragic and cruel deaths with Optimus and Bumblebee being the last of the original 5 Autobots.
