Empoleon VS King Pen is the Season 1 premier of JustChecking009's death battle
Interlude[]
Wiz: In today’s bout, we see the Emperor Pokémon, Empoleon, pecking against the Sensei Skylander, King Pen!
Boomstick: And this will be no easy fight either. Both of these competitors show similar steel type traits and kick-ass appearance
Wiz: I’m Wiz and he’s Boomstick, and it’s out job to analyze their armor, skills, and weapons to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE
Empoleon Surfs into DEATH BATTLE[]
Wiz: Empoleon is a dual typed Water-Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
Boomstick: This Peng-winner of a Pokémon became a fan favorite for it’s cool typing an appearance.
Wiz: It is described as a Pokémon with high self esteem and gets aggressive if anyone where to hurt it’s pride, slashing them into pieces with it’s steel capped wings.
Boomstick: Which by the way can slice clean through a FRICKING ICE FLOE.
Wiz: Ice floes commonly exceed 100 meters in length and are at least 20 meters thick. Ice has a compressive strength of around 10 Mpa. So Empoleon is putting out 1450 lbs of force at least on an average basis.
Boomstick: And that’s not it, Empoleon is described as being able to swim faster than a freaking jet boat. They average at speeds of around 65 miles per hour. So this guy’s traveling at over 100 kph, well, in the water anyway.

Wiz: On top of that, Empoleon has a wide variety of Normal, Water, Flying, Ice and Steel type attacks.
Boomstick: Some of Empoleon’s stand out moves include, Aqua jet, a speedy water type move that allows a slow Pokémon like Empoleon to catch up to faster opponents.
Wiz: Or swords dance. A status move that doubles the users physical attack, allowing Empoleon to increase it’s battle strength, therefore being able to output more damage.
Boomstick: And before we calculated Empoleon’s immense strength, so doubling that will increase to about 3000 pounds of force, which is over a ton and a half of brute power!
Wiz: Some quick moves. Empoleon can use blizzard, a move which summons a well...a blizzard. Crazy right! Earthquake is a move where Empoleon summons an....earthquake.
Boomstick: Fun fact, did you know that the move earthquake has never been shown in the anime, for well, ovbious reasons, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, then count yourself lucky.
Wiz: Steel wing is yet another ovbious named move. Brick break is a useful fighting move that has the user slam their limb down to inflict fighting type damage. And Flash cannon is a ranged steel type move that seems to shoot liquid metal at the target.
Boomstick: But, in a flashy way. And it doesn’t stick to the opponent like it would.
Wiz: Waterfall is actually a physical type move that has the user coat themself in water, similar to aqua jet, but this time, the move hits twice as hard, slower, but more powerful.
Boomstick: Speaking of aqua jet and waterfall, Empoleon is essentially slamming it’s own body weight into the opponent. So that’s around 200 lbs or just over 90 kg of physical force.
Wiz: And we have grass knot, where the user summons grass out of the ground to wrap around the opponents, in term tripping them up and possibly giving Empoleon an opening to attack.
Boomstick: If used properly, this move could help Empoleon kick the opponents..Grass...get it...it rhymes with A-
Wiz: Drill peck is an average power flying type move that involves the user spinning around like a drill, and stabbing the opponent with a long, sharp beak.
Boomstick: It probably isn’t the most useful for attacking, if the user has enough defense. But Empoleon’s beak looks to be made out of solid gold.
Wiz: But gold isn’t the strongest metal in the periodic table, so that isn’t exactly a feat. But a true feat, is hydro pump. Empoleon’s second strongest move.
Boomstick: Based on the fact that hydro pump is probably the same pressure as a decent water pump, give or take some power. And judging by the size of Empoleon’s mouth, hydro pump is perhaps around 40’000 PSI.
Wiz: And that is Empoleon’s best feat so far. 40’000 PSI is equal to 4000 POUNDS OF FORCE. Or 1814 kilograms of ranged force.
Boomstick: Hold on a minuet though, You said SECOND most powerful move.
Wiz: I was just getting to that. Hydro cannon, is Empoleon’s true MVM move. What we do, take the power of hydro pump, and multiply it to hydro cannon, and we’ll have our highest amount of force our Napoleon Penguin can output.
Boomstick: *Drumroll*
Wiz: 6000 pounds of force...or...2721 kilograms of ranged power.
Boomstick: That’s a lot for a penguin under six foot.
Wiz: Like all Pokemon, Empoleon has it's ability. AAAND, it is torrent, the primary ability of all water type starters. And Simipour and Panpour.
Boomstick: It isn't as cool as Infernape's blaze, but it's still pretty useful. When it's around 1/3 or under of it's HP. BOOM! It's body glows, and then just like that, all of it's water type moves are powered up. Including' the very powerful Hydro pump and Hydro cannon
Feat

Wiz: In terms of stats, Empoleon has average HP and physical attack, and defense but like we said, it’s can easily double that with swords dance, like we said.
Boomstick: Where it really shines however, is special attack. It’s good at squirting-I mean, shooting it’s powerful blasts of hydro water, that we previously said was heavier than two hippos lying on top of each other.
Wiz: And it’s special defense is above average, at just over 100. It’s only downfall stat, is it’s poor speed of of only 60, however Empoleon has a solution for that too, using aqua jet, or slowing down it;s attackers by using waterfall.

King Pen Freezes the competition for DEATH BATTLE[]
Wiz: In the Cloudmelt Glaciers, a militaristic unit of fighting penguins reside protecting the planet from all kinds if threats. But the leader of the unit, is our second combatant..
Boomstick: KING PEN! The water and brawler skylander with awesome chopping blades for flippers.
Wiz: A lot of King Pen’s physical information is unknown, but what we do know is that he clearly has military training and a lot of a battle experience against whatever threats come to a snow glacier.
Boomstick: Fire Skylanders maybe.

Wiz: Maybe, it’s never actually stated. Anyway, during an epic winter battle. King Pen was forced to take cover in a snow cave, where he was met by a legendary yeti known as Snow Wah.
Boomstick: And that’s pretty much where he got all of his fighting abilities. In the cave, King Pen was taught the ancient combat style ‘Flipper-Fu’.
Wiz: Flipper-Fu mainly focuses on the hand to combat focus of well, flippers, but it’s made even better by King pen’s massive bladed flippers. As well as that, the user can also incorporate various ice related attacks into their combat.

Boomstick: Such attacks include the penguin combo, where King pen uses the steel blades on his arms to viciously slash the opponents.
Wiz: It’s pretty safe to assume that the blades are made out of steel. The trouble is, we can’t really calculate the strength of a penguin, because, well, they weren’t adapted for carrying weight. So we’ve got to assume the weight of the steel is at least the strength.
Boomstick: Aww, I wanted to see how strong the cool penguin is.
Wiz: Unfortunately, we can’t, so getting back to moves, more specifically ice moves, we have frost breath, where King Pen breathes a path of ice that freeze opponents in their place.
Boomstick: And in gameplay, the ice moves almost INSTANTLY, like liquid nitrogen.
Wiz: Frost breath is a weaker but faster version of the move frostier breath. A slower but wider and more powerful blast of liquid nitrogen like ice.
Boomstick: Back to melee movies, King Pen has the moves penguin drill and giga drill. Hold do, penguins have-.”
Wiz: U-um, let me talk about ice arena. Where King Pen uses the same liquid nitro like material to create spikes of ice all around himself to either catch opponents off guard or protect himself from aggressive opponents.
Boomstick: A cool little power up King Pen has is Ice blade. A move where the penguin sensei downgrades it’s steel blades to easily breakable ice blades.
Wiz: Although ice blades actually increases the melee damage for King Pen, also well as incorporating ice more into his attacks.
Boomstick: But King Pen also has a move called ‘Emperor Penguin’. Where he does get a damage boost, buuuuuuut, no changeable blades.
Wiz: King Pen’s Sky-chi ability turns into the move ‘Ice to meet you’. King Pen floats into the sky and dashes into his opponent. But unfortunately there’s no ice.
Boomstick: And his soul gem ability is...Snowball. Where King Pen, charges up and compacts a bunch of ice, and throws a massive, hard, big snowball. Hold on, do penguins have ba-.”
Wiz: Ahem-. That’s it for moves. But that’s not everything for King Pen. He also has a shadow form. And instead of being a water-brawler type, it is a dark brawler type.
Boomstick: This form isn’t cannon, but hey, it’s cool, and it’s part of King Pen, so we’re gonna use it.
Wiz: Dark King Pen has dark type moves such as black hole, a move where the user spawns in a black hole to suck the opponent in and deal damage. And black holes attract objects at around 3.3 million miles per hour. That’s over 5.3 million kph!
Boomstick: Damn! That’s fast.
Wiz: Very! King Pen can also spawn pools of darkness and thick smoke to throw it’s opponents off.

Pre Death Battle[]
Wiz: The combatants are set and we’ve run the data through all possibilities
Boomstick: IT’S TIME FOR A DEATH BAAAAATTTLLLE!
Death battle[]
In the freezing arctic plains of the cloudmelt glaciers, A stout penguin wearing armor and two, long, sharp blades on it’s arms, rolls into a clearing in the ice, he is surrounded by mountains of ice and he is at the bottom of a ravine.
“I have been called to face a disruption in the plains.” The penguin said. He crouched low, and spied the ground, nothing seemed to be there, it was dangerous enough as it was, if he was too loud, the whole ravine would collapse on him.
“I better be goi-.” All of a sudden, A black, blue and white penguin with a golden trident appeared behind him, and struck him in the back with a steel wing. The attack threw King Pen forward and he jumped to his feet and turned around.
“I’ve won this battle before it’s even started.” King pen assured with a war cry.
FIGHT
King Pen started with a penguin combo and slashed Empoleon multiple times, and then rolled behind his opponent and kicked it forward. The Penguin Pokemon could barely react before King pen stepped back for a penguin drill, Empoleon noticed the assault and used aqua jet to shoot upwards, then down to spike King pen into the ground. He staggered up and shook off the ice that had covered his body.
“Not bad.” King Pen said. “But you’ve still lost!” And with that, the sensei skylander used a frost breath, only for Empoleon to summersault over it and use an ice beam at point blank range. Freezing the water-brawler in a block of ice and sending him spiralling backwards.The block of ice crashed into a wall and shattered, causing the ice all around them to worryingly shake. Empoleon used a swords dance and doubled it’s attack. King Pen then used ice blade to his blades to solid ice. Then, he used giga drill, which hit Empoleon head on and spun him around before it went flying to the ground. Empoleon got up and used liquidation, but before it could get there, King pen used ice arena to intercept and harm the water-steel type, and just like that, the first amount of blood had been spilled on the ice. While Empoleon was wincing, King Pen used a barrage of penguin combos that knocked his opponent left and right. Then he used a powerful kick and knocked Empoleon onto his back. For a finisher, King Pen started slowly charging up a massive snowball. When the peak of the amount was there, King Pen hurled it forwards with a
“Stay Frosty!” The snowball, like an ice meteor surged towards Empoleon, but to King Pen’s surprise. His opponent had risen, and put both if it’s steel capped wings in an X motion in front of itself. When the ice was an inch from Empoleon, the confident Pokémon jumped forward and easily sliced the snowball into four pieces.
“Wh-what!” King Pen stuttered. “That’s not possible.” Empoleon used this distraction to quickly charge up and fire a hydro pump, and then follow up with a brick break. King Pen was carried back into the wall with hydro pump, steam coming off his body, Empoleon then, using all it’s strength used a brick break onto King Pen’s body, and a crunch could be heard. For about twenty seconds, the skylander didn’t move at all. Empoleon turned round, thinking the battle was won. But then a black tornado erupted from King Pen’s body, this definitely caught the Pokémon’s attention and he turned back round. A massive, smoke colored tornado was twisting and turning at the spot where it thought their opponent had fell. But soon enough, Dark King Pen arose, it’s body blistered from the hydro pump, then it 100started Empoleon down with an immense hatred. Before it could say anything, King Pen charged forward and used a frosty breath to freeze Empoleon in it’s tracks. Then, it launched a flurry of penguin combos, and it didn’t stop until Empoleon wasn’t moving again. King Pen stepped back to admire his battered opponent. However he wasn’t done, King Pen used a pool of darkness to envelop his opponent and finally finish the battle. But then, Empoleon’s body glowed a dim blue, and it’s eyes snapped open. Torrent had been activated. It easily broke free of the ice and screeched it’s name loudly to the air. Then, without a second to lose, Empoleon used double team, and it’s fake clones surrounded King Pen in a circle, whom used a giga drill to one by one, destroy the clones. But then, BANG! It was hit in the side with a powerful waterfall King Pen landed on the ground and side rolled into a wall. Empoleon then landed on it’s feet and used a whirlpool to first trap King Pen in the raging waves, and then backflipped into a much larger aqua jet than before. After all the damage, King Pen was washed to the ground, he staggered up, and went for a frostier breath, but Empoleon dashed to the side and charged up another hydro pump. But this left Empoleon wide open for an attack, then, King Pen rose into the air.
“Sensei POWER!” He cried, then, he used his sky chi attack and blasted his opponent off their feet and crashed into a wall, leaving a huge crater behind. At this point, Empoleon was badly wounded and within an inch of it’s life. King Pen slowly strolled over and froze the penguin Pokémon in place with a frost breath, and raised it’s arm in an arc, ready to strike Empoleon down and finish the battle.
“No-one beats King Pen!” King Pen chuckled, but, then, a blue sphere of water could be seen in Empoleon’s mouth. And before the sensei skylander could figure out what was going on, the Pokémon released the sphere and it crashed into King Pen, and blasted it off it’s feet. At the same rate the water was pushing King Pen away, the water was seeping through his armor, and his skin, in fact, the hydro cannon was melting King Pen because of the sheer power. At the crescendo of the attack, the hydro cannon exploded, and at the same time, exploding King Pen. The pieces rained down into the ravine, and Empoleon started to escape with an aqua jet.

Conclusion[]
Boomstick: Wow, Empoleon actually won a battle fair and square for once.
Wiz: King Pen may have been a trained warrior and able to manipulate ice. But when it came to brute power, he was no match for Empoleon.
Boomstick: Sure, King Pen was skilled. But Empoleon had ways to counter that with a wide variety of moves such as steel wing and grass knot.
Wiz: King Pen was also surprisingly agile and fast for his size, and that added to his battle prowess. But Empoleon was capable of keeping up with him with aqua jet.
Boomstick: And even if Empoleon was slower, he was way, way more powerful when it came to ranged attacks.
Wiz: We estimated that Empoleon’s PSI for hydro pump was around 40’000 PSI. And Hydro cannon is more than that. For comparison, the dissolving point of steel is around 50’000 PSI.
Boomstick: And let’s not forget torrent. At it’s best, torrent powers up the user’s water type moves by 50%.
Wiz: So if hydro cannon is 25% stronger hydro pump. That means 40’000 would go up to 50’000, which is already the dissolving point for metric steel, but then 50’000 powered up by 50% by torrent. Would take Empoleon’s PSI up to roughly 75’000 PSI.
Boomstick: So if Empoleon could melt steel, then it would have no trouble melting King Pen’s skin in one attack.
Wiz: And the nail in the coffin, was that King Pen’s other form of attack was ice. And like the Pokédex entry states, Empoleon can cleave right through ice.
Boomstick: So in the end, the ice blades were useless?
Wiz: Well pretty much. yes.
Boomstick: I KNEW I was right!
Wiz: It wasn’t easy, but the winner is Empoleon.
