Electro Vs Raiden is a What-If? Death Battle between Electro from Marvel Comics, against Raiden from Mortal Kombat.
Description[]
Two masters of electrical manipulation, both adept at using their powers, be for bad or good cause, they will use their powers to the most effective to find out who will win, a Death Battle!
Intro[]
Skunk: Elements are dangerous, earth, fire, water, air.
Skel: But there is plenty more destructive elements out there, like electricity, and the two we got here today are going to prove it.
Skunk: Electro, Marvel Comic's most Shocking Villain.
Skel: And Raiden, Elder God and Protector of Earthrealm. He's Skunk and I'm Skel.
Skunk: And it's our jobs to research their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win, a Death Battle!
Maxwell Dillon was just a lineman for the Consolidated Edison electric company in New York. While working on a power line, the bolt of lightning that struck him would forever change his life...
He had survived and found that he could generate and control electricity. Then he turned to a life of crime and donned the green and yellow costume as Electro, becoming a recurring enemy of many Marvel heroes, including Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and most of all, the amazing Spider-Man.
Electro Shocks All With His Power In Death Battle![]
Skunk: Marvel Comics is full of heroes and villains of great powers, such as beings who can shrink smaller than an atom, titans who can rid half the universe with a snap of his fingers.
Skel: And there is also ones that can control electricity, like Thor, but that is more lightning, and Raiden has already gone up against Thor, and we all know how that turned out.
Raiden is shown getting his lower body decimated by Thor in the Official Thor Vs Raiden Death Battle.
Skel: Wiz and Boomstick did a good job on that one.
Skunk: Right, that is why we are using a different one, a character known far more for his electricity, Electro.
Skel: Electro's story is kinda lame, he was once Maxwell Dillon, a lineman for an electrical company in New York.
Skunk: Maxwell was working on a power line, until a bolt of lightning had struck him, and caused his whole life to change, and body.
Skel: Turns out Maxwell got cool electrical powers, he could make and control electricity at will, and because of this, what other logical option did he have but to become a supervillain?
Skunk: Now sporting a green and yellow outfit, he called himself "Electro" and became a very well-known villain, one of his most iconic rivalries being with Spider-Man.
Skel: Seriously? A guy who uses electricity is a nemesis of Spider-Man? He should have easy time with Spidey, bug zappers are effective against bugs you know.
Skunk: Not the same thing Skel.
Electro's Powers[]
- Electrical Manipulation
- Become stronger when Electro is angry
- Can store up to 10,000,000 volts
- Can shoot lightning bolts
- Able to be sent up to 100 feet
- Can be shaped into weapons like whips and nets
- Easily able to kill normal humans with his power
- Can fly using Electromagnetic Propulsion
- Up to 140MPH
- Can mimic Spider-Man's wall crawling
- Can short-circuit electronics and other technology
- Can passively electrocute someone who touches him
- Able to drain electricity from other sources
- Able to release electricity constantly without running out
- Able to throw magnetic objects
- Immune to electricity
- Can trap people with electricity
Skel: Come on, he can release electricity from his hands for however long he wants, drain other sources of electricity, fly by using his power, even shoot bolts of lightning.
Skunk: While he does have those powers, and the addition of things like making weapons from electricity, snaring people, being immune to electricity and being able to throw around magnetic things, he certainly has great power.
Skel: He can disable tech, mimic Spidey's wall crawling technique despite how flying is probably much faster and cooler, he can go over 140MPH while flying too.
Skunk: When he becomes angry, his powers become even more dangerous, while already being able to fry a person in an instant at his base power.
Skel: His lightning can reach up to 100 feet, when fully charged anyone who touches him will get zapped without him needing to think about zapping them.
Skunk: His insane electrical power has allowed him to preform insane feats.
Electro's Feats[]
- Can match Spider-Man
- Defeated The Invisible Woman, Firestar, Gravity and Nate Grey
- Tagged Quicksilver
- Survived being sent into space
- Overpowered Sandman
- Was able to hold two Spider-Men in place with his electrokenesis
- Caused a power outage across New York
- Blasted away Doctor Octopus
Skel: You mean like how he has been able to beat Spider-Man multiple times, even beating two at once, or the time he was able to tag Quicksilver?
Skunk: Yes, but also the times he beat heroes and villains like Doctor Octopus, The Invisible Woman, and even Sandman.
Skel: He caused a whole power outage in New York, was survived Thor sending him into space, and can fry people within seconds with his electrical powers.
Skunk: His electrical powers are nearly unmatched, but he still remains beatable, proven on multiple occasions.
Electro's Flaws[]
- Defeated by Spider-Man and other heroes often
- Water can cause him to short circuit when he is at full charge
- Though water likely causes problems for him in general, even at not full charge
- Often outsmarted
- Can lose control over his powers due to his old age
- Is insecure and has trust issues
Skel: He is defeated more often than he defeats Spider-Man, and with great electrical powers comes great weakness to water.
Skunk: His age has caused him to be less capable with his powers, and he is very often outsmarted by his foes, despite his power.
Skel: Electro also is pretty insecure about himself, and doesn't tend to trust people, but that is what happens when you're a villain, people tend to try to take you down.
Skunk: If someone wants to take down Electro, they'll have a shocking battle to look forward to, beware of his power.
Electro is shown briefly fighting Spider-Man.
Raiden Will Protect Earthrealm From Destruction In Death Battle![]
Skunk: Mortal Kombat is a tournament to decide the fate of the realms, each realm is given a chance to survive, though it wasn't looking good.
Skel: Yeah, Shao Kahn was coming along and basically said "I want to merge all the realms so I can rule them all at once, screw elections!"
Skunk: Right... Earthrealm was on the verge of defeat, failing 9 times, and the last defeat would spell certain doom for it.
Skel: But they weren't going down without a fight, they needed the best warriors around, and the person, or rather god that found these worthy warriors
Skunk: The person, or rather the god that found the worthy warriors was Lord Raiden.
Skel: Yeah, who better to be the protector of Earthrealm than a literal god, and not just any random god.
Skunk: The god of thunder.
Raiden is shown performing his Klassic fatality.
Skel: He wasn't fond of the idea of Earthrealm being merged with Outworld, so he did his best to seek the best, including Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and some more.
Skunk: While Raiden had plenty of power to fight with, he couldn't take part in, or interrupt the tournament, he must leave it to his chosen warriors.
Skel: I mean, a god fighting against mortals would be pretty unfair.
Raiden's Powers & Weapons[]
Powers[]
- Weather Manipulation
- Can create massive storms
- Flight
- Teleportation
- Lightning and Electricity Manipulation
- Able to use lightning to enhance his attacks, or just send it like a projectile
- Immortality
- If his mortal body dies, he will eventually come back with a new body
Weapons[]
- Staff
- Can channel electricity through it
- Amulet
- Belong to Shinnok prior
- Can fire energy blasts
- Able to trap others within it, even other gods, like Shinnok
- Indestructible
Skunk: His divine powers include the ability to create storms, channel electricity and lightning, even teleport.
Skel: Not to mention he can fly, but why would you want to fly when you can teleport?
Skunk: Because reasons, but he is also immortal, as if his body does get destroyed, or dies, he will be brought back eventually.
Skel: When is "eventually" exactly?
Skunk: He has reformed his body from total destruction before, he once preformed an attack that destroyed his whole body, then reformed it from his energies. Even more to add, he is immune to electrical attacks, he can use his electricity to move things in a similar style to telekinesis, even create flashes of light to blind those around him for a short time.
Skel: His electricity can also create force-fields, and he can even shape it into blades, as well as see into the future within a few seconds or a few thousand years even.
Skunk: There is more to his power, like sensing energies from others, even another's soul in another realm from him, if we went on, it'd be too long for us to do, so let's get to the feats.
Raiden's Feats[]
- Able to shake the Earth to its core while fighting Shao Kahn
- Almost wiped all life out of an entire realm when he fought Shinnok
- Can lift a falling plane with ease
- Can go against and beat Superman
- Defeated Dark Kahn
- Has beaten many of Mortal Kombat's fiercest warriors, including Scorpion, Kabal, Nightwolf, Jax, Liu Kang, Quan Chi, Shinnok and more
- Defeated Shao Kahn and stopped his invasion of Earthrealm
- Able to create massive thunder storms
- Was able to hold his own and beat Geras
- When unrestricted, after defeating Blaze, he destroyed all other realms apart from Earthrealm
- Killed Braniac in his Injustice 2 Ending
Skel: When fighting Kahn, his battle with him shook Earth to its core, or how he has bested multiple beings in Mortal Kombat, including Geras, a time manipulating creation of Kronika.
Skunk: He can make massive storms, obviously, he defeated Dark Kahn and stopped him causing destruction to both the Mortal Kombat Universe, and the DC Universe.
Skel: Heck, you wanna know who he fought against? Superman! The guy who can move a solar system like he is moving 3 toddlers on his back, and move between Earth and the Sun in minutes.
Skunk: In his ending in Injustice 2, he defeated Braniac, and when unrestricted with Blaze's power, Raiden is able to destroy all the realms, leaving only Earthrealm to protect.
Skel: Protect from what exactly? If all other realms are destroyed, what is there to protect against?
Skunk: Beings from other realities, like how they faced DC characters despite them not being normally in the Mortal Kombat Universe.
Skel: Good point, but Raiden himself may be powerful and a god, even gods have inner demons.
Raiden's Flaws[]
- Less powerful when in realms such as Outworld and the Neatherrealm
- Still has been defeated by other Mortal Kombat characters
- Cannot protect himself from soul attacks
- This resulted in his soul being taken by Shang Tsung, and him permanently dying
- Must take a mortal and physical form to fight
- Was corrupted and turned into Dark Raiden
- Often is restricted when in Earthrealm
- He may be unrestricted if the Elder Gods deem a threat too powerful for Raiden to defeat, and if that threat is trying to merge/destroy the realm
Skunk: True, when he tried to save Earthrealm by absorbing Shinnok's corruption, he ended up turning more evil, and less kind.
Skel: He also is made less powerful when in Earthrealm, and becomes even weaker when in other realms like the Neatherrealm, meaning prolonged exposure to other realms will make him weaker over time.
Skunk: He has even died to Shang Tsung taking his soul, as he had no protection against such an attack.
Skel: Heck, he was beaten by Sonya Blade once, sure she is a tough woman, but she is still far below a god's level.
Skunk: Even with restrictions and some losses under his divine belt, Raiden will continue to protect Earthrealm, no matter the cost.
Raiden: I must consult with the Elder Gods.
Intermission[]
Skunk: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.
Skel: It's time for a Death Battle!!!
Fight[]
Location: Destroyed City
The city is shown in ruins, rubble everywhere, flames all around, cars broken. Suddenly, an electrical bolt hits a lamp post, and all lamp posts in the city shatter. Electro is shown laughing at the destruction.
Electro: This is the easiest job I've had, no Spider-Man here to stop me, no Avengers, nothing can go wrong!
???: You there!
Electro turns around, and sees Raiden stood.
Raiden: Are you another of Shao Kahn's minions? Your kind are not welcome on Earthrealm ground.
Electro: I don't know who this "Shao Kahn" dude is, but nobody tells me what to do, especially not straw hat wearing punks like you!
Fight!
Electro blasts electricity from his palms, but Raiden teleports out the way. Electro looks confused, then Raiden appears in front of him, startling Electro. Raiden preforms a combo, kicking Electro into the air and firing lightning at him, sending Electro into a building. Electro flies back out, looking mad.
Electro: You've made a big mistake messing with me!
Electro's fists generate electricity, as he blasts with both hands. Raiden fires his own electrical stream, clashing both. Each fighter is shown slowly moving closer to the middle, but Raiden teleports. Raiden flies from behind Electro, and pulls him through a pile of cars. Electro bursts out the top of the pile, as Raiden flies out the other side, looking up at his foe. Electro rapidly sends electrical orbs at Raiden, who shoots bolts of lightning, destroying the orbs.
Electro: You think you're hot stuff with your lightning? I'll show you!
Electro flies up high, and fires a huge bolt down, causing a shock-wave that blasts apart the city, buildings falling down. Raiden is also sent flying back from the force, crashing into a mountain. Electro flies over as Raiden gets up. Raiden is caught in an electrical snare, and Electro charges his hands.
Electro: You're done!
Electro fires the electricity, but Raiden teleports out of the snare, as Electro's attack hits it and destroys it. Electro turns and fires electricity, hitting Raiden who teleported behind him. Raiden is sent to the ground. Electro blasts the mountain behind him, and makes it crumble, boulders and large rocks falling down. Raiden evades the falling rocks, and flies at Electro, who releases a big bolt. Raiden charges through the bolt, to Electro's surprise.
Electro: What the hell?!
Before he can regain his composure, Electro is tackled by Raiden, who flies high up into the sky with him. Electro emits a discharge of electricity to force Raiden away, and both now fly high in the sky. Raiden evades a barrage of electrical bolts being thrown at him, then generates a storm. Lightning hits Electro right in his chest, as he screams out. Then Electro laughs, having faked the scream.
Electro: You idiot, electricity won't work on me!
Electro releases a giant stream of electricity, which sends Raiden down into the ground of a field. Electro charges downward, ready to punch Raiden with an electrically charged fist, but Raiden makes a bright flash of light, blinding Electro, and causing him to miss. As Electro regains his sight, Raiden kicks his face, punches his gut, then throws him into a tree, breaking it. Raiden teleports and picks Electro up, then throws him into another tree. Electro gets back up, and his eyes glow.
Electro: You won't win this, you won't!
Electro, now filled with rage, charges in a blink at Raiden, dragging him along the ground face first. Raiden blasts the ground with his own electricity, pushing them both up. Raiden then teleports in front of Electro's flight path, and slams his staff into Electro's face, an X-Ray fractures his jaw bone. Raiden suspends Electro in place with electricity, and slams him into the ground multiple times. Raiden then pulls Electro closer, and kicks his chest, fracturing his sternum.
Raiden: I am the protector of Earthrealm, you will not cause any more harm!
Raiden flies up with Electro, then teleports rapidly around him, hitting his body in various places, breaking bones are heard. Electro's eyes glow bright, he yells out angrily, and releases a wave of electrical energy than sends Raiden flying, but Electro catches Raiden in an electrical snare. He forms an electrical whip and hits Raiden multiple times, then throws him into the air high. As Raiden falls back down, Electro uses his power to charge his fist, and preform a rapid uppercut to Raiden, hitting his back, breaking his spine. Electro throws Raiden down to the ground, and he lands face first, his skull cracking.
Electro: You are no protector, you are no warrior! You. Are. A. Weakling!!!
Electro shoots his electrical energy into the clouds, which glow bright yellow. He then sends a bolt crashing downward. Raiden sees this, as he gets up, he puts his hands up, and is able to stop the blast. Electro looks in awe at this, then Raiden shoots it at Electro, with enough force to send Electro flying around the earth. Raiden flies up, and glows brightly. As Electro comes back around to Raiden's location, Raiden's eyes flash, as he does an electric fly, with enough force to tear Electro's body in two at the waist, causing Electro to scream.
Raiden: Enough of this...
Raiden catches Electro's upper and lower body, then throws them down into a large river. Raiden uses his electrical telekinesis to lift a huge boulder above Electro, then uses lightning to send it down in rapid speed, as Electro floats in the water, then is crushed. Raiden teleports beside the crushed remains.
Raiden: Never underestimate a god.
K.O!
Conclusion[]
Skel: Raiden sure went all out there didn't he.
Skunk: This battle had a few factors in it, but the battle didn't come down to their electrical powers, surprisingly.
Skel: Yeah, because both were immune to electrical damage, so bolts of electricity and lightning weren't going to do much but hit the other with force.
Pop-Up: While Electro had ways to catch Raiden in electrical traps, Raiden also was capable of the same kind of attacks, but Raiden's power to teleport helped him out of it, while Electro had no such methods to avoid that kind of attack.
Skunk: Well not all of their attacks were useless, Raiden's teleportation allowed him to quickly dodge and escape many attacks, and Electro has rarely faced foes with teleportation, if at all.
Skel: So, since both had basically the same powers, shooting lightning, flight, bending lightning to their will, it was obvious this came down to who was more powerful, skilled and capable.
Skunk: It is really hard to argue with the fact Raiden was far more skilled and experienced given he is a god and knows around 750 martial arts, so Electro wouldn't fair well in hand-to-hand, and going against the likes of Superman is far more impressive than any of the foes Electro has gone against.
Pop-Up: Even if Raiden isn't scaled to Comic Book Superman, Raiden's feats like defeating Shao Kahn and Dark Kahn are still more powerful than anything Electro has done or faced himself.
Skel: Raiden also had more than lightning on his side, he could blind Electro with light, sense Electro to make sure he didn't sneak up on him.
Skunk: While both were masters of electrical manipulation, Raiden's better experience, varied versatility, and overwhelming godly power was too much for Electro to take in.
Skel: Electro must feel crushed, what a shocking defeat.
Skunk: The winner is Lord Raiden!
