History[]

Created by the Cosmic Enity known as the Stranger, Ego was a brain-like Celestial that used his matter manipulating ability to construct a planet-like shell around himself in the Black galaxy. Having long forgot his origins while pondering his existence, his fellow Celestials mostly dying out, Ego sought purpose and meaning as he created an avatar body to explore the universe for life besides himself. But he became disillusioned by what he saw, becoming a genocidal megalomaniac with a god complex filled with a desire of universal conquest. But various heroes like Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy put him down a peg.

As a Celestial, Ego is god-like and biologically immortal. Due to his ability to manipulate the matter composing his body, Ego's planet-like body is a "bioverse" with every part of it being an extension of himself. It also allows Ego to create various types of constructs that include super strong humanoid avatar bodies with functions ranging antibodies to traveling vessel. However, the avatar bodies need to be bathed in the light of Ego's core to continue functioning.
