Dusknoir VS Lucina is a What-If? Death Battle featuring Dusknoir from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky and Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Description[]
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon VS Fire Emblem! Two time travelers who try to change the fate of the future will duke it out! Who will win? Who will die?
Interlude[]
(*Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston*)
Cress: The presence of the future is daunting. What will it be like and will it be good or bad?
Talon: However, some futures suck so much they need to send others to the past to fix it in some way, for better or worse. Like Dusknoir, the time traveling Gripper Pokémon.
Cress: And Lucina, the descendant to the legendary Hero-King, Marth.
Talon: He's Cress and I'm Talon...
Cress: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Dusknoir[]
(*Cues: Dark Wasteland - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky*)
Cress: The world of Pokémon. A place filled with many creatures with special talents.
Talon: However, these creatures suffer the fate of being captured in tiny spherical prisons by hu-
Cress: Actually Talon, this Pokémon world has very few humans and no Poké Balls.
Talon: What!? Then what is this world?
Cress: Like I said, the world of Pokémon. However, even an only Pokémon filled world has a fair share of problems. One day, all of a sudden, the legendary Pokémon that can control time, Dialga, went berserk, and Temporal Tower, the only thing preventing time from going crazy, collapsed.
Talon: This caused time to completely stop. It became a world of darkness, and it was ran by the new Primal Dialga.
Cress: The sun never rises, the wind never blows. It was torture for the Pokémon that somehow didn't get trapped in time. This led a Pokémon named Grovyle and a human to travel back in time, with the help of another Pokémon called Celebi, to prevent this disaster from ever happening by gathering the Time Gears and placing them into Temporal Tower. However, disaster struck yet again when an error happened when traveling back.
(*Cues: Temporal Tower - GlitchxCity - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness*)
Talon: I can't be the only one who ships Grovyle and Celebi. Anyway, the error traveling back in time separated Grovyle and the human. It also caused the human to turn into a Pokémon called Piplup. It ALSO caused Piplup to have amnesia. That unlucky happy feet penguin.
Cress: Primal Dialga, somehow not being able to stop those two, was furious. He hired an agent and some minions to go back in time to stop their plans and to capture Celebi. These Pokémon were the Sableye, led by the Gripper Pokémon, Dusknoir.
Talon: When he went back in time, he pretended to be this nice explorer and met Piplup who became friends with a Chimchar, who were apprentices at Wigglytuff's Guild to be an exploration team named Team Poképals. Dusknoir easily befriended them and helped them on many occasions. Such as when he saved them from a pack of Luxio and a Luxray.
Cress: Grovyle however, was treated as a criminal as he was stealing Time Gears, which completely stopped the flow of time in the area he took them from.
Talon: Who wouldn't think that was bad?
Cress: Dusknoir tricked Team Poképals into helping him locating and catching Grovyle. Eventually, he pulled it off with his genius mind. He admitted to the Pokémon of the past that he was from the future and was sent back in time to capture a "criminal" named Grovyle. However, when he was about to leave with Grovyle, Dusknoir did something very ominous.
(*Cues: Palkia's Onslaught! - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness*)
Talon: He dragged Team Poképals to the future! There, they would be executed so that they couldn't change the future. This plan failed as Grovyle tricked him by using a Luminous Orb. He tried to capture them again in the future, but failed yet AGAIN because Chimchar thought of a plan, but hey, he let Grovyle know that Piplup was his long lost best friend.
Cress: Dusknoir let the trio collect the Time Gears due to laziness and convenience and decided to stop them once and for all at the steps of the Rainbow Stoneship, a platform that would fly Team Poképals and Grovyle to Temporal Tower. He finally decided to show off some of his skills in combat!
Talon: He can summon his shadow to attack you with Shadow Sneak, confuse you with Confuse Ray, trap you from moving with Mean Look, or, somehow, never miss with Shadow Punch.
Cress: However, his moves don't end there. He can electrify, burn, or freeze you with ThunderPunch, Fire Punch, or Ice Punch, reflect attacks with Rapid Spin, bind you with... Bind, or predict the future and send shock waves with Future Sight.
Talon: How many fucking attacks does this guy have!?
Cress: We aren't done yet! He also can burn you with Will-O-Wisp, shoot a beam of darkness with Dark Pulse, and finally, his most powerful attack, Shadow Ball. It was this move that Dusknoir was going to use to finish off Team Poképals. Like all villains though, this ended up backfiring.
(*Cues: Battle Against Dusknoir - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness*)
Talon: Team Poképals combined their strongest attacks together to reflect the Shadow Ball into Dusknoir's weak spot, his mouth stomach. That was the scariest thing I ever saw as a child.
Cress: He was thwarted yet again, and was sent back to the future, after trying once again after being defeated but that didn't end well. Grovyle stopped him from stealing the Relic Fragment, the one thing that powers the Rainbow Stoneship, and sent him back to the future with him.
Talon: It's so sad....
Cress: There, he and Grovyle woke up and-
Talon: Cress, please. We already explained too much of the damn story. To sum it up though, Grovyle and Dusknoir woke up and worked together by no choice, Dusknoir backstabbed him later and was going to melt his soul right in front of Celebi, he became nice and saved Grovyle from his own trap, got Primal Dialga pissed, and with Grovyle and Celebi, helped to defeat Primal Dialga.
Cress: Yeah, basically. Don't forget they disappeared too after Team Poképals inserted the Time Gears into Temporal Tower.
Talon: CRESS! STOP! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME CRY!
Cress: They came back though.
Talon: IT'S STILL SAD! THIS IS WORSE THAN CHEREN VS BIANCA!
(*Cues: Vast Ice Mountain Peak - Remastered - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky*)
Cress: Anyway, Dusknoir couldn't have done all this without some amazing feats. He's strong enough to hold off a pissed off Primal Dialga with some help, powerful enough to take on Team Poképals and Grovyle at the same time, fast enough to keep up with Grovyle, who can go through an entire forest in seconds, and tough enough to survive his strongest attack getting reflected back at him, getting sent back to the future, then being forced to go through many dungeons, fighting off a few Glalie and a Mamoswine, and then taking a beating from a pissed Primal Dialga that also used Roar of Time. I'm... I'm speechless.
Talon: However, one of his greatest strengths is his intellect. You know when he was sent back in time? Well, turns out Dusknoir woke up before Grovyle, and created a huge fucking plan to distract Grovyle long enough for Primal Dialga to catch Celebi and then trick Grovyle into getting his soul melted away. He was then going to possess him and travel back in time to meet Team Poképals and backstab them at the worst point.
Cress: And this all somehow worked until Dusknoir had a change of heart and rescued Grovyle from the soul melting. Dusknoir isn't without his flaws though. As mentioned before, his stomach when opened is a major weak spot that can easily be exploited when he attacks using Shadow Ball. Shadow Ball also takes awhile to charge before he can launch it.
Talon: And despite possessing incredible intelligence, Dusknoir is extremely cocky. You can imagine all of his defeats resulted in him being cocky. Like the time he cornered Team Poképals, Grovyle, AND Celebi, and talked long enough for them to make a plan and escape.
Cress: However, his feats alone show you he isn't just like any other Dusknoir.
Talon: HE'S A TIME TRAVELING, BACKSTABBING, TRAITOR! And we all love him for it.
Laughing is heard as Team Poképals and Grovyle turn around to see Dusknoir rising to the Rainbow Stoneship.
Grovyle: Dusknoir! You!
A Sableye jumps on Dusknoir's shoulder and gives him the Relic Fragment.
Dusknoir: Hm, good work.
Chimchar: Hey! That doesn't belong to you! That's my treasure! Give it back!
Dusknoir: Bah! I will not let you change the future.
Grovyle: Dusknoir! So, what are you doing here?
Dusknoir: I asked Master Dialga to send me from the future straight away. I knew you would all show up, so I figured I'd skip the trouble of looking for you and wait here instead. *Turns to the Sableye on his shoulder* I'll leave the rest to you!
Lucina[]
(*Cues: You Have Power... Like Mine. - Fire Emblem: Awakening*)
Cress: Long ago, there was a far away continent called Ylisse. For a long time, this continent had many years of peace. Until one day, the country Ylisse, bad naming, attacked and started a war with another country in the region, Plegia.
Talon: However, this caused most of the trained warriors of Ylisse to die in battle and the Exalt of Ylisse decided it was a good idea to put innocent and untrained people into the army. The Exalt was the father of three kids, Chrom, Lissa, and Emmeryn. Luckily, he passed away, causing the war to end, making Emmeryn, who was 10 years old, the new Exalt. Great father.
Cress: However, 15 years later, the new leader of Plegia, Gangrel, struck a war against Ylisse for what they had done in the past and wanted to steal the Fire Emblem. With the Fire Emblem, he would wish for all of the people of Ylisse to die.
Talon: How much darker does this need to be?
Cress: But after a long war, Ylisse finally won, thanks to Chrom and his army, the Shepherds.
Talon: After Emmeryn's death. *sniff* Damnit Gangrel!
Cress: After the final battle and finishing Gangrel off, Chrom decided to randomly propose to a girl he's known for a long time named Sumia, and then later had a daughter named Lucina.
Talon: However, after a few years, another war started and a Grimleal, basically dragon Satan worshippers, named Validar tried to revive the fell dragon, Grima. He fought Chrom and his tactician Robin and lost. A happy ending, right? NO! Robin got hit with some spell or something and stabbed Chrom with a lightning bolt, killing him.
Cress: Turns out, Robin was Validar's son, and was going to use him to revive Grima. Robin got corrupted and... Basically, Robin BECAME Grima.
(*Cues: Id ~ Purpose - Fire Emblem: Awakening*)
Talon: Another great father. Anyway, Lucina was only left with her mother... Until she died too. She used the sword training her father taught her to try to take down Grima. She inherited her father's sword, Falchion, to try to finish him off once and for all.
Cress: That didn't really turn out to well. But the Divine Dragon Naga put out a last ditch effort and sent Lucina, along with 11 of her closest allies, back to the past. She wore a mask that her ally Gerome gave her, tied up her hair, and went by the name of her ancestor Marth so the Chrom of the past wouldn't recognize her. She went to the past and saved Chrom, Emmeryn, and Lissa on many separate occasions.
Talon: Heck! She even fought against Chrom and the Shepherds. But unlike other superheroes, whose identities are always a secret, Lucina's mask was broken one of the times she saved Chrom. Chrom was surprised she was a woman.
Cress: Years later, after the Chrom of the past and Shepherds won their war against Plegia and Chrom and Sumia got married, the second war against Valm had begun. Lucina saved Chrom one last time, accidentally calling him "father" in her worry to save him.
Talon: Yeah, if someone randomly came up to me and called me father and then saved me, I'd be freaking out. Chrom found out that "Marth" was actually Lucina, but from the future. He knew it had to be Lucina because of the Mark of Naga in her left eye and the fact she was using Falchion.
Cress: Sumia later found out and said how she grew up to be-
Talon: Flatter than Mr. Game and Watch!
Cress: Talon!
Talon: What! It's true.
Cress: I know it's true but that joke has been done to death already! I expected better from you.
Talon: Ugh! Fine! Lets just talk about Meta Knight's weapons.
Cress: That's better!
(*Cues: Prelude (Ablaze) - Fire Emblem: Awakening*)
Talon: Lucina carries a few weapons. For long range, she wields the legendary bow, Nidhogg. This bow has great range and is good against monster and flying enemies. She also wields a Rapier, which is extremely effective against beasts and armored warriors.
Cress: She also carries a Master Seal with her. Master Seals promote the class of a warrior permanently, making them stronger, faster, and tougher. In this case, Lucina goes from a Lord to a Great Lord. But then there's her iconic sword, the Parallel Falchion. This sword was forged from a fang of Naga and is great for taking down dragons. It can even seal the almighty Grima, who was destroying the land of Ylisse and much more. She can also heal herself with it if she stands still and focuses.
Talon: She is ironically similar to Marth. However, unlike Marth's Falchion, hers is not more effective on the tip of it, more so around the whole blade. You would think that would be the end of female Marth's arsenal but there is much more.
Cress: Lucina can use Skills to her advantage during battle against an enemy. She can increase the chance of an ally helping her with Dual Strike+, increase her accuracy and avoidance with Outdoor Fighter, if she is outside, or give teammates around her better accuracy and avoidance with Charm.
Talon: These two last Skills are probably her best ones though. Aether lets her do two separate hits, each that is basically another skill. The first hit is Sol, which can heal half the damage she dealt to a foe, and the second hit is Luna, which cuts opponents' defenses in half. Her final skill is called Rightful King. This allows her to activate her skills more frequently than usual. Just keep spamming Aether, Lucina!
(*Cues: Conquest (Ablaze) - Fire Emblem: Awakening*)
Cress: Throughout her years of training-
Talon: And Smash Bros.!
Cress: Lucina has learned a variety of sword techniques. She can break opponents' guards with Shield Break, send out a gust of wind through her sword with Storm Thrust, or uppercut foes upwards with Dolphin Slash. She can also angle the Dolphin Slash to make her go more horizontal, like a crescent.
Talon: She can counter attacks with... Counter, strike elegantly with multiple strikes with Dancing Blade, or charge energy into her sword and thrust forward with Awakening.
Cress: Her strongest technique, though, is her Critical Hit. With this attack, she charges forward at incredible speeds to stab opponents and send them flying. She also goes pretty far when doing this attack.
Talon: That's pretty impressive! However, impressive doesn't mean you are perfect. Despite having some greats Skills, some of them require a partner for them to be useful. She may have gotten training from Chrom, but that didn't last long as he was killed later on by Robin, so most of her training was self taught along with her allies.
(*Cues: Conquest - Fire Emblem: Awakening*)
Cress: Lucina also doesn't have much long ranged weaponry outside her bow and arrow. However, her feats prove that some of this doesn't even matter! She can run faster than the normal human eye can see, survived a duel between Chrom and the Shepherds, accidentally destroyed a wall, and has saved Chrom and others on many occasions.
Talon: Not to mention her sword is able to take down the all-powerful Grima. She even helped Chrom and the Shepherds throughout the rest of the wars, fighting against many different warriors and even helped save the day once and for all when Grima was killed at the hands of Robin, who also died because of their connection. Oh! I forgot to mention, THAT Grima was also from the future.
Cress: Whatever the cost, Lucina will always try to change fate for the better.
Chrom readies his sword for battle as Lucina, wearing her mask, does the same. Chrom notices her sword is the same as his.
Chrom: Where did you get that? There's no way...
Chrom jumps into the air, does a flip, and then strikes downwards with his blade, which Lucina blocks. Lucina and Chrom swing their swords multiples times, colliding into each other each time. Lucina then goes for a diagonal strike downwards. They swing their blades more.
Chrom: Tell me- Who taught you to fight like that?
They both jump apart from each other and swing their swords around each other identically, readying for a lunge forward. They both lunge forward, trading blows. Both regain footing as Lucina jumps into the air and, similarly to Chrom, flips and strikes downwards.
Lucina: My father!
Chrom dodges the attack though. Lucina turns around and points her sword at Chrom.
Lucina: Hmph!
DEATH BATTLE![]
Cress: Alright, the combatants are set! Let's end this debate, once and for all!
Talon: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLLLLEEEE!!!

Chapter 10.5
A Duel for Fate
Open Field
Afternoon
(*Cues: Gaur Plain - Night - Xenoblade Chronicles*)
It was a bright and sunny day. The wind was blowing fiercely and it felt nice for anyone walking by. However, how the day looks will not go with the event going to happen.
The harshest battle was about to begin. The Ylisseans were almost to the area where they will fight their final battle against Plegia. The Ylissean Army's leader, Chrom was however wondering something else.
Chrom: Where is she?
Chrom was waiting for someone to appear to help them fight. Someone who has always appeared before to help them in dire situations.
Forest
(*Cues: Grass Battle - Pokémon Conquest*)
The forest was filled with many trees of varying sizes. There were very few people in it and it looked beautiful. The trees whistled with the wind. However, something else was whistling in the wind too.
Footsteps could be heard running through the grass. Trees started to fall as a figure was seen running through the forest. The rushing figure was a young woman with blue beautiful hair. She was wearing a cape and tiara. She seemed to be running late for something.
???: Dear Gods! I can't believe I overslept! I need to help Father!
This was the future princess and daughter of Chrom, Lucina. Lucina was in such a hurry that she need to clear a path using her sword so she can get there in time for the battle between Ylisse and Plegia. She even went through a village. She was THAT far away.
Village
(*Cues: Merchant Theme - Fire Emblem: Awakening*)
However, before she could leave the village, someone stopped her.
???: Excuse me! Miss!
Lucina quickly turned around to see a merchant that was obviously going to try to get her to buy something. The merchant had red hair and was named Anna.
Lucina: I'm sorry. I have to hurry somewhere.
Lucina turned back around to start running but Anna yelled something that got her attention.
Anna: Don't you want any weapons on your quest?
Lucina turned around yet again. Lucina knew that the merchant was right. She was in such a hurry that she forgot all her weapons and equipment except her Parallel Falchion. She ran back to Anna in blinding speed.
Lucina: What do you have?
Anna: Well, we have Vulneraries, bows, swords, swords-
Lucina: What swords do you have?
Anna was surprised that she got cut off but she just turned around and grabbed a sword.
Anna: I have a feeling you'll like this one.
Anna took out a fine Rapier and showed it to Lucina.
Anna: If you buy it now, you'll get a bonus weapon. It's 2,000 gold.
Lucina: I'll take it!
Lucina quickly took out 2,000 gold and gave it to the merchant. She quickly grabbed the Rapier and put it away.
Anna: And here's your bonus weapon! It's a bow called Nidhogg.
Lucina also took the bow and put it away.
Anna: Would you like anything else?
Lucina looked around her shop and spotted her eyes on an item she is interested in.
Lucina: I'll take that Master Seal too.
Anna: That'll be 5,000 gold.
The Ylissean princess checked her pockets and found just enough gold to pay for the Master Seal.
Anna: Here you go!
Lucina: Thank you kindly.
Anna: Good luck on your trip!
Lucina quickly dashed out of the village and entered yet another forest with more trees for her to cut down.
Lucina: *I've got to make up for loss time!*
Forest
(*Cues: Fight 1 (Fire Emblem Gaiden) - Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U*)
Lucina started slicing and dicing her way through the thick forest and made her way towards a field covered in grass with fewer trees. She decided to catch her breath and take a quick break. The princess of Ylisse started panting and took out her last Vulnerary and used it to make her feel better. She was almost there.
Lucina quickly got back up again and dashed towards another part of the forest. Suddenly, everything went dark, stopping Lucina in her tracks. She looked around to see if anyone was following her and when she looked back, she saw a void that was filled with blue and black.
(*Cues: Battle Against Dusknoir - Remix - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness*)
Lucina readied her Parallel Falchion for what may come out the void. First, a hand popped out, then a head with one red eye, and then the whole thing came out.
???: Agh! Rough trip.
The creature looked up to see that a young woman with a sword was looking directly at him.
???: Ah! You! Tell me! Where is Grovyle!?
Lucina looked puzzled by what the creature was asking and sheathed her sword, thinking she could talk this out and not resort to violence.
Lucina: I don't know who this Grovyle is, but who are you?
???: You... You don't remember me? I am the all and powerful Dusknoir! I was sent back in time to stop you from changing the future.
Lucina, hearing those words, unsheathed her sword again readying for a fight.
Lucina: You work for the fell dragon, Grima?
Dusknoir: I work for Master Dialga. Stop playing dumb with me and remember!
Lucina looked down to the ground with her sword pointed down also.
Lucina: I don't know who you are, but nothing will stop me from changing fate!
Lucina looked back up and pointed her blade at Dusknoir.
Dusknoir got in a battle stance and laughed.
Dusknoir: You will not change the future!
FIGHT!
(*Cues: The Angels Foretell Their Demise - Riviera: The Promised Land*)
Lucina decided to try to end the fight quickly by jumping upwards into the air. The Ylissean princess then striked diagonally downwards onto the Gripper Pokémon with her blade. A loud "SHINK!" sound was heard but when Lucina looked back up, she was surprised that Dusknoir blocked the blow with his arm.`
Dusknoir: Pathetic!
Dusknoir pushed his arm forward, throwing Lucina off balance and making her land on her back. He started putting his hands together, in the ol' "Kamehameha" pose and gathered dark energy into his hands.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
The Gripper Pokémon then shot out a huge beam of darkness from his hands. Luckily for Lucina, she quickly got back up and rolled out of the way of the Dark Pulse. However, Dusknoir shot out another, which Lucina rolled again. And then another, and another, until Lucina thought of an idea. She jumped backwards, narrowly avoiding another Dark Pulse. She then sheathed her sword and took out her bow, the Nidhogg.
The Ylissean princess, while upside down, shot four arrows at Dusknoir, all of which hit him in his singular eye.
Dusknoir: Ugh! Lucky shot!
Lucina: Take this!
Lucina landed on her feet and started charging one focused arrow. She was aiming for the Gripper Pokémon's eye again. She lined up her shot and fired. But Dusknoir wouldn't let himself be open like that.
Dusknoir: Not this time!
He started spinning at a rapid pace, you couldn't even see his eye anymore from his speed. The arrow hit the spinning Dusknoir and reflected back towards Lucina at double the speed.
The Ylissean princess reacted fast though and ducked. Dusknoir knew he got the opening he needed. The Gripper Pokémon's eye started to glow a purple color and shot out a ring of dark energy. Lucina looked back up at her opponent and saw the ring coming right at her. However, she didn't move in time, and it hit her. Nothing whatsoever happened to Lucina though.
Dusknoir then started to charge one of his fists with fire, and another with electricity. He begun to fly towards Lucina. The challenger of destiny tried to run and dodge the incoming attacks but couldn't move her legs. She had been hit with a Mean Look! Dusknoir used this great opening to fly straight up to Lucina with his attacks ready.
Dusknoir: Close your eyes. This may sting a bit!
Dusknoir began pummeling Lucina with multiple Fire Punches and ThunderPunches until he hit her with one final Fire Punch that sent her flying far away into a tree. She had burns on her face and felt weary.
Lucina: At least... Now I can do this.
Lucina put away her bow and took out her Parallel Falchion again. She closed her eyes and raised her sword. The Ylissean princess was healing herself using her sword, and the burns started to go away. Before she could finish healing herself all the way however, she her a familiar voice.
Dusknoir: Come out already! I know you're here!
Lucina took cover behind a nearby rock and peaked behind it to see where her foe was. And there he was, floating right next to the tree she crashed into.
Dusknoir: She must be nearby. I can sense it.
Lucina: I'm right here!
(*Cues: Marth's Theme - Fire Emblem Fates*)
Lucina jumped up into the air from the rock and slashed downwards, just like her first attack. Dusknoir turned around and saw his opponent doing exactly as she did before.
Dusknoir: Don't you learn?
The Gripper Pokémon raised both his arms to block the incoming blow. However, the challenger of fate saw this coming and right before landing her strike, she stopping swinging downwards and started charging her blade for a stab. She landed right in front of Dusknoir and let loose with her attack.
Dusknoir: Fool! Do you think you can-
Before he could finish his sentence, Lucina stabbed right through his guard, temporarily surprising him.
Dusknoir: Well how about that?
Lucina: Don't worry. You aren't the first to keep their shields up against Shield Breaker!
Lucina used this opportunity to start slashing elegantly multiple times at the Gripper Pokémon. She stabbed and sliced him from his arms to his heads, until knocking him up into the air. She then jumped upwards and uppercutted Dusknoir, and then slashed him more times. The Ylissean princess finally then slammed Dusknoir to the ground with a quick stab downwards. Dusknoir felt the pain and had his eye closed.
Lucina wasn't even close to done with her barrage of attacks. She was still in the air as the Gripper Pokémon was lying on the ground helpless. The challenger of fate then stuck her sword down, preparing for an immense strike! Dusknoir saw it coming.
The Gripper Pokémon opened his eye with a flame burning in it and started spinning with Rapid Spin again. Lucina, surprised to see this action, hit her sword against the spinning Dusknoir, having it fly away from her hands and land into the ground a few feet away.
Before Lucina hit the spinning Gripper Pokémon, Dusknoir suddenly stopped spinning and grabbed Lucina, surprising her.
Dusknoir: I won't lose so easily!
Dusknoir then started to hug Lucina tightly. However, this was no nice hug. The Gripper Pokémon hugged so tightly that she began to shout loudly in pain. Dusknoir was using Bind!
Dusknoir: Have you had enough?
Dusknoir then stopped his Bind and threw Lucina far away from her Parallel Falchion. Lucina quickly recovered but had trouble catching her footing. She looked up and saw that Dusknoir's shadow was stretching towards her, and she knew that it had to be bad.
The challenger of fate rolled away from the elongating shadow. It, however, started following her. Lucina quickly turned around to see a shadow charging right into her. A direct hit! Lucina lost balance from that attack and Dusknoir took advantage of it. He summoned three purple flames and shot them out at Lucina. This was his Will-O-Wisp attack.
Lucina looked up again and saw the flames. All she could think about was "These better not follow me too..." The Ylissean princess jumped over the first two flames and ducked under the last one narrowly. She then started running up to Dusknoir with her Parallel Falchion dragging on the ground next to her, making a metallic sound and sparks appearing. She swung her sword diagonally upwards and just before the attack hit, Dusknoir dodged the attack. Lucina then swung her sword more times with each one missing.
The Ylissean princess tried one last attack to hit Dusknoir. She thrusted her blade straight towards the Gripper Pokémon. This however didn't work as intended, and Dusknoir just backhanded the thrust, making her sword go upwards and causing her to lose balance.
Lucina: This seems... All to familiar...
Dusknoir then charged his fist with fire for another Fire Punch headed straight for Lucina's face.
Dusknoir: Fire Punch!
(*Cues: Showdown with a Volcanic Entei - Pokémon: Super Mystery Dungeon*)
However, the challenger of fate recovered last second and put her sword near her chest with a "SHINK!" sound. Dusknoir hit the Parallel Falchion but Lucina quickly reacted and countered the Fire Punch, striking Dusknoir back with such a force that he flew through a few trees, making a "THUD!" sound.
Lucina took this chance to heal more using her Parallel Falchion. When she was healing however, a purple flame flew from the forest and struck Lucina. She shouted in pain as she was set on fire from a Will-O-Wisp. Dusknoir appeared from the forest with a scratch from the Counter.
Dusknoir: You're tougher than I thought you'd be, I'll give you that. However, I knew you would leave your guard open when I got launched. That hurt you know! Take this! Dark Pulse!
Dusknoir went into another "Kamehameha" pose and shot out his Dark Pulse attack, almost point blank to Lucina. It was a direct hit and Lucina hit a tree. The Ylissean princess could still feel the burns, and tried getting up using her Parallel Falchion to help. She got back up and was about to take her sword out of the ground, but...
Dusknoir: Not so fast!
Before Lucina could take her sword out of the ground, the Gripper Pokémon's eye turned purple and he shot out a black ring, which hit Lucina's sword. Lucina tried taking her sword out of the ground, but was surprised how it just stayed there and couldn't even budge. If only she had a green tunic wearing fairy boy with her right now.
Lucina: It won't budge!
She knew she couldn't even budge it, so Lucina took out her Rapier to use instead.
Dusknoir: Another?
Lucina: I will never lose!
Dusknoir started to laugh.
Dusknoir: We'll see...
Dusknoir after saying that, began to glow his eye an eerie red, with purple waves coming out of it.
Lucina: What the-
Before she could finish, Lucina started to get dizzy and walked in a random pattern. She just got hit with Dusknoir's Confuse Ray and now had no idea what she is doing.
Dusknoir: That should make things easier.
All of a sudden, Dusknoir's fists began to grow as they homed in on the confused Lucina.
Dusknoir: Shadow Punch!
When Lucina moved left, the fists followed her, when she moved right, the fists still followed her. Lucina suddenly got back to her senses, and realized the giant shadow fists coming right at her. They were catching up quick in fact! She jumped right over them. However, what she didn't realize was that the fists turned back around and striked her on her back, knocking the wind out of her and launching her straight towards Dusknoir.
Dusknoir: All according to plan!
Dusknoir opened his arms, in a hugging pose. Lucina got lauched straight into his arms and got squeezed by Dusknoir's Bind attack. You could even hear a bone crack as she took this punishment. The Gripper Pokémon then threw Lucina into the air with a swift "FWOOOSH!"
Dusknoir: Take this!
Dusknoir levitated upwards to where Lucina was flung and began to charge both his fists with electricity. He charged up a punch and let loose. However, a "SHINK!" sound was made when Dusknoir punched. Lucina blocked the blow and was fighting back even after than punishment she took!
Dusknoir: What!
Dusknoir now confused at how she recovered so quickly, started swinging both of his fists at Lucina, who was also swinging her Rapier at him. The fists and blade clashed, causing "THUDS!" and more "SHINKS!" However, Lucina took notice of his attack patterns and found an opening she needed. She struck her Rapier at Dusknoir's eye when he was getting ready to swing his punch.
Dusknoir: Agh! My eye! How dare you!
Lucina then used her Dancing Blade technique to elegantly slash at the Gripper Pokémon multiple times, aiming for his midsection and arms and finally, the head. To finish this off, she struck downwards, sending Dusknoir flying down, hitting the ground with a "THUD!" He bounced back up from the sheer force he landed from.
Lucina: Take this!
Before Dusknoir landed on the ground a second time, Lucina slammed her Rapier downwards and stabbed Dusknoir straight into the ground. Dusknoir yelled in pain as Lucina, with a lot of burns and bruises, got up and left her sword inside Dusknoir so she can try and retrieve her Parallel Falchion this time. Lucina was running towards her signature blade in the ground at blinding speeds.
Dusknoir: The irony...
Dusknoir took this chance for another one of his plans. The Gripper Pokémon's eyes turned blue and was preparing something big. Bigger than anything he has already done
Meanwhile, Lucina was almost to her Parallel Falchion. She kept running until she finally made it where it was. She grabbed the hilt of the sword with both of her hands and slowly pulled it back out of the ground. She pointed it up into the sky, where the sunlight glimmered the tip of the blade. She took her chance to heal up as Dusknoir was still stuck in the ground.
Though did he stay there intentionally?
Lucina kept healing herself, as her wounds and burns started to fade away. She felt a lot better from this and became more calm. Lucina suddenly heard Dusknoir's voice coming from behind her and took a fighting stance, but Dusknoir was still in the ground, so Lucina started to heal some more of her wounds with the Parallel Falchion.
Dusknoir: Nicely done. You sure got me good there. However, there is something that you have forgotten.
Lucina turned back around and pointed her Parallel Falchion at Dusknoir.
Lucina: What are you talking about?
Dusknoir: This!
(*Cues: Cut Man Stage (Mega Man) - Super Smash Bros. for Wii U*)
Suddenly, Lucina was knocked towards Dusknoir, still in the ground. Lucina looked back from where she was knocked and saw a shadowy fist still coming at her.
Lucina: I guess I did forget about that.
Lucina, knowing now that dodging isn't an option when going up against this attack, decided to attack the shadow fist instead of avoiding it. The Ylissean princess clashed her blade against the fist and it immediately disappeared when it came into contact. Another fist came from behind her and Lucina quickly took notice of this and counterattacked. The same result occurred, and another fist came, and another, and another. All of which disappeared after getting hit with the Parallel Falchion.
While Lucina was doing this, Dusknoir watched her carefully. He was waiting for something to occur for him to take advantage of.
All of a sudden, during one encounter with another shadow fist, Lucina jumped backwards from it with her sword pointed downwards. She stabbed right through the shadow fist that was coming upwards to try to strike again. She was directly above Dusknoir's head and planned to stab him through his eye. All the Gripper Pokémon did was wait for her to come closer and closer until...
Dusknoir: I knew you would do that.
Lucina: Huh!?
Dusknoir used his other available hand and snapped his fingers. All of a sudden, five wormholes appeared all around Lucina.
Lucina: What's that!?
The wormholes started to shoot out lighting bolts and they all directly hit the challenger of fate, causing her to her to yell in pain and get more burns. The wormholes shot out electricity for a few more seconds before stopping and letting Lucina drop. Dusknoir just timed his Future Sight perfectly!
Dusknoir: Got you!
Dusknoir, suddenly not in pain anymore, ripped out the Rapier that was through his chest. Lucina was coming straight downwards, tired from the electrical shock. Dusknoir held the Rapier in his hand and charged fire in his other hand.
The Ylissean princess still fell helplessly until... "SHINK!" Dusknoir used Lucina's Rapier to slash a big gash in her midsection. The Gripper Pokémon followed this up with a Fire Punch in the same spot, causing Lucina to cough up blood and get launched towards a tree that cracked once she made contact with it. Lucina was not looking good now.
Dusknoir: Now to end this!
Dusknoir threw the Rapier he just used straight at the Ylissean princess. Lucina began to rise up, but was startled when her Rapier got caught in the tree right next to her, almost going through her skull and even cutting off some of her hair.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
When Lucina looked back up, all she saw was a dark beam coming straight at her, and she had no time to move.
A large explosion, making an even bigger "BOOM!" sound, appeared as Dusknoir just looked at it to see if his opponent was still alive. He squinted his eye to try and see through the smoke when suddenly...
Dusknoir: Gah! My eye!
...An arrow flew straight through the smoke and nailed Dusknoir right in the eye, causing immense pain. Dusknoir quickly took out the arrow and saw that Lucina was still standing.
Lucina: I'm not through with you yet!
Lucina jumped up into the air and striked downwards diagonally straight at Dusknoir. Dusknoir kept his arms up to guard himself above, but Lucina striked lower down on the Gripper Pokémon's body, making him losing his balance. Lucina used this newfound opportunity to use her Dancing Blade once more, making more elegant strikes against Dusknoir's arms, midsection, and this stabbing multiple times in his stomach, with the last hit launching him into a tree and bouncing off.
Lucina ran straight up to the Gripper Pokémon and started charging a stab. Dusknoir kept his guard up until...
Dusknoir: Wait a minute!
(*Cues: The Light Shines Beyond (Howl) - Fire Emblem Fates*)
However, it was too late, and Dusknoir got his guard broken AGAIN in the same battle. Lucina, who found this pretty funny, began charging up another stab while her opponent is caught off guard from her Shield Breaker. But, this wasn't any ordinary stab. The Ylissean princess finished charging her attack and let it loose. To Dusknoir's surprise, a huge gust of wind game flying out of her sword, pushing him backwards and slamming him against a the tree behind him again.
Lucina followed up by using her Dolphin Slash to uppercut the Gripper Pokémon and then proceeded to launch him downwards with three strikes. Dusknoir hit the ground with Lucina following with a thrust downwards.
Dusknoir quickly caught himself and dodged the attack. Lucina landed and recovered fast too. She proceeded to slash diagonally at the Gripper Pokémon's chest. Dusknoir countered this attack by using ThunderPunch. Fist and blade collided as an explosion of electricity shot out everywhere. This power struggle kept on going with Dusknoir leaning towards Lucina, causing her to back up, with a tree right behind her.
Dusknoir: Don't you see? You cannot change destiny!
Suddenly, time stopped for a second.
Lucina: I challenge my fate!
Lucina, now more determined than ever, shoved her Parallel Falchion forward, causing Dusknoir's fist to bounce off and make him lose his balance. The challenger of fate then striked twice, the first into the Gripper Pokémon's stomach, which also healed some of her minor wounds, and another on his right arm, which surprisingly hurt more than Dusknoir would have thought. Lucina just activated her Aether Skill!
Lucina: I won't lose!
Lucina started to charge energy straight to her sword. She then pointed the divine blade upwards charging it even more.
Lucina: My fate is mine!
The challenger of fate then charged forward with incredible speed and with her sword pointed towards Dusknoir. The Gripper Pokémon had no time to react, and was stabbed straight into the stomach that sent him flying. This was her Awakening technique. However, Dusknoir quickly recovered, barely not slamming into the tree and flew straight back at Lucina.
Dusknoir: Take this!
Dusknoir used Will-O-Wisp to summon four purple flames near him. They burned with intense heat. However, they would get even hotter because...
Dusknoir: Fire Punch!
Dusknoir's fists ignited in flames and he started to punch his Will-O-Wisps. Each punch caused the flame to grow and become even hotter. Dusknoir was sweating from the intense heat, but he was fine.
Dusknoir: Try and dodge this!
Dusknoir pointed his finger towards Lucina, signaling the Will-O-Wisps to go attack her. The flames were HUGE! They were at least four feet tall and they glimmered an even brighter purple. One flame right after another. Lucina narrowly dodged three of them but was caught off guard by the last one's random movement and got hit by it.
Lucina however, shrugged it off and ran towards Dusknoir despite being on fire. Dusknoir, surprised to see his opponent take the attack, started to charge an all to familiar attack.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
Dusknoir shot out his Dark Pulse attack, which Lucina jumped straight over and was heading downwards towards Dusknoir. A familiar time stop happened again. It was Aether again.
Lucina: I challenge my fate!
Lucina landed on the ground right in front of Dusknoir and swung her Parallel Falchion. The Gripper Pokémon dodged to the side barely from the first attack of Aether. Lucina swung her blade again towards Dusknoir's head.
Except Dusknoir wouldn't let that happen. Dusknoir suddenly grabbed Parallel Falchion from Lucina, blocking the second strike, and ignited his fist with fire again. He punched the Ylissean princess towards another tree and then threw her Parallel Falchion in the opposite direction. The sword landed perfectly in the ground with the hilt up.
Dusknoir: And now for good measure...
Dusknoir's eye turned purple and shot out a black ring that came into contact with the sword. The Mean Look took effect, and Dusknoir knew that sword wouldn't go anywhere for awhile. Dusknoir turned around and...
Dusknoir: Agh! The eye! Why is it always the eye!?
Dusknoir opens his eye again and sees the Ylissean princess is on the other side of the field, wielding her bow and arrow, Nidhogg.
Dusknoir: You little...
Lucina: Come at me!
Lucina shot three arrows straight towards the Gripper Pokémon, moving at intense speeds. Dusknoir, levitating over to Lucina, quickly dodged two of the arrows, and then spun using Rapid Spin to reflect the last arrow back at Lucina.
Lucina, now running towards her opponent as well, took out her Rapier and sliced the reflected arrow into two. She got out her bow as Dusknoir's fists glowed with electricity. Both fighters were still running towards each other, when finally, Dusknoir used it's ThunderPunch. Lucina dodged however by going around his fist and shot an arrow point blank at the Gripper Pokémon's stomach, causing him to get pushed back. The Ylissean princess then shot another arrow, and another arrow, each one pushing him farther back.
Lucina: Take this!
Lucina quickly put away her bow and took out her Rapier. She then started charging up her blade for a stab why Dusknoir was still recovering from all of those arrows. She let loose with the stab, sending out a gust of wind that pushed the Gripper Pokémon into a tree. She switched back to her bow again and shot out four arrows at the collapsed Dusknoir just to be sure.
Lucina: Finally! A perfect chance to use this.
(*Cues: Moonstruck Blossom - Kirby Triple Deluxe*)
Lucina put her bow away and took out a familiar object she bought from a merchant before she came here.
The Master Seal.
She held the Master Seal out in front of her and started to gain immense power. Her appearance changed. She wore bulkier and lighter blue armor. Her pants changed from a dark blue to an even darker black. Light and sparkles appeared under her as she held up her Rapier high in the sky. She had transformed into a the legendary Great Lord.
Dusknoir slowly got up and he saw the now transformed Lucina. All the Gripper Pokémon did was laugh.
Dusknoir: You think THAT can stop me!? I will not fail Master Dialga!
Lucina suddenly moved from her spot after transforming. So fast in fact that Dusknoir blinked once and she was gone from her spot.
Dusknoir: What!? Where'd she go?
Dusknoir heard tree branches shake a quickly turned around and shot out a Will-O-Wisp. No one was there, and the Will-O-Wisp hit a rock. He did notice, however, that the sword he locked in place before was gone now.
Dusknoir: Blast it!
Suddenly, Dusknoir felt a quick pain from his arm. He turned to the direction it came from but, just like before, no one was there. He felt more pain in his midsection. He turned around and saw Lucina running straight towards him. Lucina started to swiftly strike Dusknoir multiple times and then launched him upwards with one slash. The Gripper Pokémon quickly recovered and shot out his Dark Pulse attack.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
A beam of darkness came out of his hands and hit Lucina head on.
Or did it?
A cloud of smoke erupted when the Dark Pulse hit. Dusknoir looked down worriedly to see if his opponent was still down. He couldn't keep up much more with her speed. At least for now.
Suddenly, a familiar blue-haired girl jumped out from the smoke with incredible speed and slashed Dusknoir in the stomach. Dusknoir cried out in pain, but that didn't distract him from the much greater annoyance. One of Dusknoir's ignited in flames as his other became electrified. He and the Ylissean princess started to trade blows with one another, each getting a good hit on the other until...
Dusknoir: I've had enough with you!
Dusknoir swung his electrified fist at Lucina, who dodged the attack and grabbed onto the Gripper Pokémon.
Dusknoir: What!? Get off of me!
Lucina: Never!
Lucina repeatedly jabbed multiple parts of Dusknoir's body, giving him intense pain. He however, stayed completely composed and even laughed.
Dusknoir: Heheh... I warned you.
Lucina: What do you mean by that!?
Dusknoir: This!
The Gripper Pokémon started to spin his body super fast. Lucina may have forgotten, but not she remembered his Rapid Spin attack! Lucina held on tight, continuing to try to jab Dusknoir, but missing most of her jabs due to the spinning. This was really making her sick. She tried to keep holding on, but lost her grip on Dusknoir and was flung higher into the air.
Dusknoir hurried and floated up above Lucina. Lucina was probably thinking he would hit her with a Fire Punch or Dark Pulse. What she wasn't expecting was that Dusknoir grabbed her and started to hug her. She also forgot about Dusknoir's Bind attack. After Lucina finished shouting out in pain, Dusknoir let go of her and charged up in a punching motion. She started to thinking this is where the Fire Punch would happen.
Except she thought wrong again! Dusknoir's fist started to glow a bright white and had a light blue aura around it. This was one move he was saving up for a surprise. It was his Ice Punch attack, and Lucina could feel the cold even before the Gripper Pokémon attacked.
Dusknoir: Surprised?
Dusknoir winded up a bit more before letting loose and attacked Lucina with the freezing fist headed her way. Lucina was helpless, and couldn't stop it at all. It was a direct hit!
Lucina's body then started to lose temperature. She began to turn white. She was being frozen in a block of ice, and her surprised expression stayed still in that ice cube. She was also stuck in midair thanks to Dusknoir stopping the Ylissean princess dead cold in her tracks. He simply pushed her and she kept on falling downwards to the ground.
Dusknoir: This will be enjoyable!
Dusknoir started following the falling ice cubed Lucina, and winded up another punch, this time with fire. He winded up a bit more before attacking with it. However, he wasn't using the Fire Punch to just attack...
He was dragging her downwards towards the ground even faster than when she was falling before! They were almost to the ground when Dusknoir said something to Lucina.
Dusknoir: You will not change the future!
And with that, Dusknoir closed his eye and slammed Lucina straight into the ground with such a force that an explosion occurred, causing the whole forest around them to be vaporized and an ice sound shattering. Dusknoir opened his eye, seeing his fist connected to Lucina's body. He retracted his fist and started to float away, thinking his opponent was defeated.
Dusknoir: Heh. Weak.
All of a sudden, he heard crumbles and a sword unsheathing.
Dusknoir: I-Impossible!
(*Cues: Battle! Cynthia - Remix - Pokémon Diamond & Pearl*)
Lucina was up, barely being able to stand up on her feet. She was looking down. She slowly looked up at Dusknoir, one eye closed from her pain, and pointed her blade at the Gripper Pokémon.
Lucina: You'll never defeat me!
Dusknoir: All you're doing is delaying your doom.
As soon as Dusknoir said that, an arrow came flying his way and almost hit him in the eye. He however caught the incoming arrow with his right hand. He then looked at it and laughed.
Dusknoir: How many times have you hit me in the eye? Three? Four? I won't fall for that again! Now take this!
Dusknoir threw away the arrow and his fist started charging with electricity. He flung his fist straight at Lucina's stomach. Lucina, being to weak to dodge, could not avoid the incoming ThunderPunch and was sent hurling into a tree. Lucina banged against the tree but recovered as fast as she could. She needed to find a place to heal if she wanted any chance of winning. Lucina brought back out her bow and shot many arrows into the air, forcing Dusknoir to have to dodge them and not pursuit.
However, Lucina had one problem. Almost the entire forest had been burned down thanks to Dusknoir's Fire Punch. There were still flames burning and Lucina had no other choice but to hide there.
Lucina ran all the way up to a fire that was burning passionately. She hid in the flames where she wouldn't get burnt badly but also wouldn't be seen thanks to the smoke. She took out her Parallel Falchion and started to heal ever so slightly. The longer she healed, the less burns she had on and the stamina kept coming back.
Her closed eye close to her sword opened with determination. She was ready.
Meanwhile, Dusknoir was in the forest of flames but could not find that "blue-haired brat." When suddenly, out of nowhere, an arrow came out and struck Dusknoir in the eye.
Dusknoir: Gah! It's always the eye!
Lucina: Missed me?
Lucina put away her bow and took out the Parallel Falchion. She posed with the sword and got in a battle stance. This is where the final battle would begin!
The Ylissean princess was the first to strike, slashing downwards at Dusknoir and then jabbing repeatedly at the Gripper Pokémon stomach. Dusknoir sidestepped the downwards slash and matched each jab with a Fire Punch and ThunderPunch. They countered each others blows perfectly. Lucina stopped jabbing and started to dodge the incoming Fire Punches and ThunderPunches, before finding an opening.
She uppercutted the Gripper Pokémon with her Dolphin Slash technique and then immediately slammed him downwards. She started charging her blade for a stab. Dusknoir quickly recovered and guarded but he remembered at the last moment.
Dusknoir: Not this again!
Dusknoir quickly dodged the Shield Breaker and slammed right into Lucina.
Dusknoir: I won't play for a fool again! Dark Pulse!
Dusknoir then charged up his Dark Pulse attack. He then immediately fired it right in front of Lucina causing a huge explosion and sending her crashing into a tree. Lucina looked up and saw Dusknoir charging up to her with a Fire Punch and put her stance in a defensive position. Dusknoir attacked the hilt of the sword, protecting Lucina from the attack and counterattacking in the process. The Gripper Pokémon crashed against a rock a bounced upwards.
Lucina: You're mine!
The challenger of fate followed it up with a Dolphin Slash and a Dancing Blade, aiming for Dusknoir's arms and stomach. She finished it up by slamming him downwards again. Dusknoir hit the ground with a "THUD!" with Lucina landing right after. The Ylissean princess started charging energy into her sword before pointing it into the air. Lucina was using her Awakening technique! She thrusted forward with great speed and landed a direct hit against the Gripper Pokémon, smashing him against a tree.
Lucina jumped at the tree, hoping to stab him. Dusknoir opened his eye and saw Lucina coming. He dodged lasts second, having Lucina get her Parallel Falchion stuck in the tree.
Dusknoir used this opportunity very wisely. His fist charged with electricity and he punched Lucina with the electric fist, sending her flying into a bush. Lucina recovered quickly and started running towards the Gripper Pokémon. Dusknoir summoned electricity in his hand and threw it at the running Lucina, which stops her dead in her tracks.
Suddenly, a wormhole appears in front of Lucina and absorbs the electricity that Dusknoir threw. Lucina has a surprised expression on her face for what just happened. But before she could react, the wormhole disappears, and right behind it was Dusknoir who quickly grabbed onto Lucina using Bind.
Dusknoir: Take this!
Dusknoir crushed Lucina with his Bind attack, causing Lucina to cough up some blood and yell in pain. Dusknoir threw the Ylissean princess into the air and then shot out a familiar attack.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
Getting into his "Kamehameha" pose again, Dusknoir charged a beam of pure darkness. He finished charging the attack and shot it upwards towards Lucina. She acted quickly though, she charged up a stab and at the least second, let it go. This caused a gust of wind to be summoned, pushing her away from the incoming Dark Pulse. The challenger of fate landed on the side of a tree, and then jumped right off it, with her blade forward.
Lucina plunged her blade directly Dusknoir's stomach. Dusknoir seemed to be getting used to this, as he just ignored the pain and spun his body using Rapid Spin. This caused Lucina to get flung against the very tree she jumped off before.
The Parallel Falchion was still inside Dusknoir's stomach! Dusknoir took it out of his stomach painlessly and simply laughed, holding it in a combat stance.
Dusknoir: You need this?
Lucina only responded to his sarcastic tone by taking out her Rapier.
Dusknoir: Hm, interesting...
(*Cues: Dark Matter 01 - Pokémon: Super Mystery Dungeon*)
The Gripper Pokémon surprisingly started to swordfight the Ylissean princess! Dusknoir swung his blade diagonally downwards towards Lucina, who dodged it easily. Lucina countered by jabbing twice in Dusknoir's stomach and once in his eye, pushing the Gripper Pokémon back. Dusknoir recovered and lifted his hand up slightly.
Dusknoir: What if I did this?
Lucina looked confused to what Dusknoir was saying, and also why he wasn't complaining about getting hit in the eye again. She then realized he could use his moves alongside a sword. Dusknoir summoned a Will-O-Wisp flame in his hand and slowly moved it towards the Parallel Falchion. He laughed as he set on blade of it on fire. Lucina, horrified at seeing this, knew exactly what he was doing.
Dusknoir: Now this'll make things more interesting!
Dusknoir practice swinged a few times using his newly Fire Parallel Falchion be swinging one of them towards Lucina, summoning a pillar of fire that spread towards the Ylissean princess. She quickly rolled to dodge the attack but was welcomed by a stab in the midsection by a flaming sword held by Dusknoir. She covered the wound with her open hand and dodged a few other swings by the Gripper Pokémon.
Lucina: Take this!
Lucina ran up and slashed horizontally, going behind Dusknoir. She continued slashing back and forth multiple times before slashing him vertically upwards. She jumped up after him and swung her sword vertically. Dusknoir recovered quickly, striking with his sword horizontally.
Both blades clashed, causing sparks and flames flying off.
Dusknoir: You'll never win!
This struggle was won by the Gripper Pokémon, who pushed hard enough to cut the Rapier in two! He slammed the Ylissean princess to the ground where she had a big gash in her chest. Lucina slowly got up and saw her opponent slowly floating towards her. She took out her bow and started to fire multiple shots.
All of these shots got blocked and burnt by the flaming Parallel Falchion. Dusknoir swung the blade and fired a shot of fire directly at the bow, incinerating it.
Dusknoir: Do you have any other tricks up your sleeve?
Lucina just glared at her opponent.
Dusknoir: I'll take that as a no... You really shouldn't glare at someone who has your only weapon left in their hand.
The Ylissean princess didn't respond and just continued to glare.
Dusknoir: Well this won't be any fun at all then. Here, take it.
(*Cues: Vergil's Theme - Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3*)
Dusknoir threw the flaming Parallel Falchion towards Lucina. It landed in the ground right in front of her. The flames started to fade just as she started to walk slowly towards the legendary blade. She used her remaining strength to pull out the sword and make a fighting stand. She shook, as she couldn't do this any longer.
Dusknoir: Are you happy now? I think it's time to end this anyway.
Dusknoir put his hands together, forming dark energy within his hands. Lucina knew what was coming.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
Dusknoir shot out a huge beam of darkness straight at Lucina! Lucina tried to block the attack with her Parallel Falchion, but was overpowered by the dark attack. This sent her flying into a tree and put her on her knees.
Dusknoir: This will be your end!
Lucina looked up at Dusknoir with rage in her eyes. She needed to beat her opponent, but how?
Dusknoir rushed straight up to Lucina with a familiar white light and a blue aura in his right hand. He was attempting another Ice Punch. The Gripper Pokémon used his left hand to grab Lucina and slam her against the tree she was just launched into, making it so there was no way she could escape His fist tensed as he dealt his final punch.
Dusknoir: Take this! Ice Punch!
Dusknoir rocketed his fist forward, hitting Lucina's stomach. The result was the Ylissean princess being attached to a tree with everything besides her head frozen. Dusknoir turned around and floated back a bit.
Dusknoir: Even with all your strength, you didn't have a chance at beating me.
Dusknoir stopped and then turned around again.
Dusknoir: I will admit, you did alright, but I am through playing games!
Dusknoir's stomach suddenly opened up, as if it were a mouth. It begun charging up a a dark vortex that was sucking up all of the wind around it, making a dark energy ball inside it grow larger and larger.
Lucina: What is this power...?
Lucina looked downwards at her frozen body. The dark vortex just kept growing.
Lucina: Father... I'm sorry...
She shed a single tear as she awaited her fate.
But that's not like her at all!
The ice that captured Lucina has begun to crack due to the dark vortex's suction! Lucina noticed this and started thinking of what she could do. She could break out right away and dodge it? She could counter it? But, she just put her head down and closed her eyes.
Dusknoir began to laugh as he had almost finished charging up his final attack!
Dusknoir: This is it for you!
Lucina still had her head pointed downwards with her eyes closed.
Dusknoir: Take this! Shadow Ball!
Dusknoir launched a giant purple ball straight at Lucina. His strongest attack.
Was it truly over?
The giant Shadow Ball begun to home in closer and closer to Lucina, but she continued to put her head down, eyes closed. When suddenly...
(*Cues: More Than Just Comrades - Remix - Fire Emblem*)
Lucina looked straight up at the strongest attack Dusknoir has ever used. Her eyes glowed as she broke out of her icy prison.
Dusknoir: What!?
Lucina put her Parallel Falchion in the air as it glimmered brightly from the sunlight.
Lucina: Time to change fate!
Lucina dashed forward at incredible speeds with a stabbing motion pointed upwards.
Her Critical Hit technique!
She dashed right into the Shadow Ball that was just launched and stabbed it with her Parallel Falchion, pushing it back towards Dusknoir.
Dusknoir: Huh!? I won't let you do that!
Dusknoir put his hands together. Dark energy appeared in his hands and Lucina knew what was coming.
Dusknoir: Dark Pulse!
Dusknoir shot out a beam of darkness that hit the Shadow Ball Lucina was pushing back towards Dusknoir. This became a power struggle between the two time travelers. Lucina kept on pushing forward no matter what. Dusknoir put all of his power into this one Dark Pulse to stop Lucina from bringing it towards him.
Lucina was nearing him and Dusknoir tried to put even more power into his Dark Pulse. They were each giving their all into these final attacks.
Lucina was homing in on Dusknoir. Just a few more feet away! She kept going at it and she was only a few inches away! Dusknoir couldn't move unless he wanted to stop using his Dark Pulse, which would literally kill him.
Suddenly, a wormhole appeared above the Shadow Ball.
Lucina: W-What's that!?
Dusknoir: My last... Chance... Gah...
The wormhole emitted a lightning bolt from it and struck the middle of the Shadow Ball.
BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!
This caused a massive explosion to occur with both of the combatants screaming in pain!
Finally, the smoke cleared and there was only one person in that forest now...
The princess of Ylisse, Lucina.
(*Cues: Fi's Farewell - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword*)
Lucina was pushed back into a tree from the explosion and actually had her Parallel Falchion in her chest! She was unconscious, but she immediately regained it. She noticed that her own sword was in her chest, which also impaled her into the tree. Lucina grabbed the Parallel Falchion's hilt and took the sword straight out of her chest. This hurt her a lot, but hey, she was alive.
Lucina then uses her Parallel Falchion to heal herself, which seals some parts of the giant wound in her chest. She slowly walks back to the field where she first met that obstacle in her path, and that blue and black void was still there, probably waiting for someone. Lucina walked straight up to the void and then suddenly stopped.
Lucina: I don't need this anymore...
Lucina flung her Parallel Falchion up into the air. It landed right behind her in the ground.
Lucina then began to walk towards the void again.
Lucina: Master Dialga, things have turned out well. I'm heading back to the future now!
With that said, "Lucina" was almost near the void. She walked up to it and something surprising appeared on the ground.
On the ground, was a shadow that wasn't Lucina's. It was in fact Dusknoir's shadow! A half transparent Dusknoir appeared next to "Lucina" making the exact same movement patterns as the challenger of fate.
Dusknoir had possessed the deceased Lucina and was now using her body as a host to travel back in time through the void!
Dusknoir: Well, that was fun. Huhahahahahahah!
K.O.!
Dusknoir, in Lucina's possessed body, walks through the void and disappears as the Parallel Falchion sticks in the ground of the burned battlefield.

(*Cues: Dialga's Fight to the Finish - Remix - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky*)
Talon: Surprise plot twist!
Cress: Lucina may have held a speed and weaponry advantage, but Dusknoir's superior power and strategic mind won him this fight.
Talon: It's amazing what this one Dusknoir can do!
Cress: Remember the time Dusknoir fought Team Poképals and Grovyle for the last time near the Rainbow Stoneship. He had his most powerful attack get reflected back at him, sent back in time and be forced to go explore many mystery dungeons, battle fierce Pokémon like Glalie and Mamoswine, and then got a beating from a pissed off Primal Dialga that also used it's signature move, Roar of Time. And then he fought the damn time dragon.
Talon: This easily lets him survive any of Lucina's assaults, and while the Parallel Falchion is powerful enough to seal a dragon capable of destroying continents, Dusknoir is strong enough to take down a dragon that is even more powerful.
Cress: Both of these feats required some help. However, while Lucina needed help from an entire army to take down Grima, Dusknoir only needed two allies to take down a much bigger threat.
Talon: Heck! He could just reflect most of Lucina's attacks using Rapid Spin! Dusknoir also has a shit ton more ranged attacks than Lucina. Lucina may wield a bow, but Dusknoir can use several different ranged attacks with special properties which also include status ailments like burn and confusion.
Cress: Even with all this, one of Dusknoir's greatest advantages was his strategic mind. When he got sent back to the future with Grovyle, he made a huge plan to get the cunning Grovyle's trust and distract him long enough for Primal Dialga to capture Celebi. He later tricked Grovyle into getting his soul melted away. This would have ALL worked if Dusknoir didn't have a change of heart and save Grovyle.
Talon: One of Dusknoir's moves, Future Sight, has the secondary effect to... well... see into the future. This allowed him to look into the future to find a moment where he could be at a disadvantage.
Cress: Add this in with his master intellect and Dusknoir basically had a way to counter even Lucina's most powerful attacks like Awakening and Critical Hit. Lucina could heal with with her Parallel Falchion and Aether Skill, but with Dusknoir's far superior stats and intellect, all she could do was delay the inevitable.
Talon: Lucina just didn't possess the abilities to take down the Gripper Pokémon.
Cress: The winner is Dusknoir.
