Description[]
Metroid vs. Skylanders! Two dragons, one theme, but only one champion. Which robotic reptile will win, the hero or the villain?
Introduction[]
Wiz: The awesome power of technology has led to the creation of great heroes and the worst of villains, but in order to accomplish this one must have the intellect, wit, strength, and sometimes the insanity to wield it, in order to be the greatest of saviors, or the worst of nightmares.
Boomstick: Hold it right there Wiz, because these two prove what happens when you mix fantasy and sci-fi together, you can get super-cool technological monsters. Like Meta. Ridley, commander of the notorious Space Pirate Army.
Wiz: And Drobot, the genius robotic dragon of the Skylanders.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Meta. Ridley[]
Wiz: The world of Nintendo has filled our hearts with joy, happiness, good triumphing over evil, for many years- from Sonic, Mario and Samus
Boomstick: Yeah, total bullshit over here ! Nintendo is about as blood-thirsty as anything Disney related. Like Mario killing people of the Mushroom Kingdom by destroying the blocks they're imprisoned in and being a communist, Smash Brothers has a dark story of Masahiro Sakurai inside each game, but NOTHING is darker then the bloody battle between Samus Aran and her archenemy; Ridley.
Wiz: Ridley is an alien dragon, and one of the military commanders of the Space Pirates. Though the origins of this mighty beast are unknown, Ridley is responsible for the death of Samus' parents.
Boomstick: But he didn't just murdered them, he fucking ate them, right in front of Samus, forever traumatizing her.
Wiz: Since then, those two have be archenemies, seeking to destroy each other.
Boomstick: Being a space dragon, Ridley is a powerful foe. He possesses brute strength, enhanced durability, razor sharp claw, and teeth, and a deadly tail with a spear on the end.
Wiz: He also fly, breathe plasma, can survive the vacuum of space, is skilled on hand-to-hand combat, but his most interesting ability is his extreme adept to survive. He's also strong enough survive an explosion, but sadly, not strong enough to survive unscathed. It's also implied that he can heal his injuries simply by devouring on human flesh.
Boomstick: And you say Nintendo is a happy world..... Dumbass.
Wiz: Knock it off Boomstick!
* Boomstick snickers with delight.
Wiz: Ridley is a tough opponent. He's tanked multiple explosions with only major injuries.
Boomstick: Survived the destruction of K2-L by consuming the bodies of the dead humans, but was only mention in the manga- and was strong enough to take direct hits rom Samus Fusion Gravity Suit, which literally destroyed a planet.
Wiz: To destroy a standard planet Samus must've hit it with a force of over, 63 sextillion tons of TNT. Not to mention, Ridley has even cheated death on multiple occasions, but mostly when the space pirates mechanically modify his body.
Boomstick: Hell, there are even times when Ridley was cloned by either some dumbass scientists, or by a parasitic alien.
Wiz: All these moments where he cheats death has earned him the nickname; the Cunning God of Death. Then after all this, his body is rebuilt into what we know as… Meta Ridley!
Boomstick: A robot dinosaur? Kid’s fantasies of Dinosaurs VS Robots can be put to rest!
Wiz: As Meta Ridley, his strength and speed increase immensely and he gains extremely resistant armor, except for a few weak points.
Boomstick: He gained multiple new attacks, including the Kinetic Breathe Attack, a red plasma beam that blasts out of his mouth….
Wiz: The Meson Bomb Launcher, in which he drops powerful bombs that can damage the landscape….
Boomstick: And the Ultrathermal Flamestrike, where every time he slams into the ground, he creates a fiery shockwave to damage others. And missiles, don’t forget the missiles!
Wiz: And when you think that he’s at his best, he has yet another form.
Boomstick: Okay, this guy has to be a Frieza hybrid! He was even rebuilt like Frieza.
Wiz: When infused with phazon, a special liquid, he can become his best form yet: Omega Ridley!
Boomstick: When Ridley becomes Omega Ridley, his power grows immensely.
Wiz: Increasing widely in strength and speed, he also gained a very durable Phazon- enhanced armorskin and protective armored plating.
Boomstick: And to go along with this, his weapons from Meta Ridley were enhanced greatly! This guy’s robot Frie-
Wiz: I swear to god if you make another Frieza joke.
Boomstick: Fine, continue.
Wiz: He may seem indestructible, he has multiple weaknesses.
Boomstick: He has a quick temper and the arrogant belief that nothing can beat him, along with being defeated by Samus. Plus, he still has a few weak points that Samus could attack.
Wiz: But altogether, he’s a very powerful fighter that will continue to cheat death!
Boomstick: But sadly, despite him cheating death multiple times, and even caused Samus to shake in her boots when she saw her revived nemesis, Ridley never managed to kill her. Hell, he has trouble dealing with goddamn Pikachu. And Pikachu's only about 1'04" and Ridley is,... what? Ten, maybe fifteen times bigger than Pikachu?
Wiz: Despite his inability to kill his rival, or an electrical rodent, Ridley is still a formidable foe, that even death itself can't seem to put this mighty alien dragon to rest.
Ridley preforms Battle Cry, about to confront Samus and Pikachu.
Drobot[]
Wiz: The Skylanders are an entire army of heroes defending their titular home of magic and adventure, each one falling into one of ten different elements.
Boomstick: There are the standard typical elements, like fire, water, earth and the like. And then some rather odd ones like Magic and Undead.
Wiz: Not to mention my own personal favorite Element being Tech; even with it being technically as far from a scientific element as you can imagine. And like all the elements, the original lineup of Tech Skylanders had themselves a single dragon.
Boomstick: And what do you call a dragon who made himself look like a robot? Why Drobot of course.
Wiz: A tech lightcore dragon, Drobot is a little different to most dragons. And don't say I'm being racist, it's because he deliberately made himself look different.
Boomstick: All thanks to what he found on an island the day he got caught up and tossed out a tornado. On it was all manner of wonderful inventions and machines which Drobot was all too happy to get his claws on. Because, as it turns out, he's a nerd.
Wiz: Compared to his fellow dragons, who preferred to spend their time fighting in aerial battles, Drobot enjoyed using his brain and taking things apart to figure out how they worked. And this was no different to the abandoned machines he stumbled upon. Scavenging them for parts, Drobot turned himself into the powerhouse he is today, boasting power that was said to surpass even that of most other dragons.
Boomstick: Well of course it did! It's a dragon with the power of technology on his side and his newfound inventions translated well into all new weapons.
Wiz: Nearly all of Drobot's main methods of attack involve doing from from a distance away, with his Mega Blasters being his primary method. Fired from his eyes rapid fire, these beams can whittle down an enemy's life bar in barely any time at all. And the upgrade path for them is pretty straightforward, with an emphasis on dealing even higher damage at even greater rates.
Boomstick: Not only can he increase the level of damage using two different kinds of crystal but he can even empower them with anti-matter.
Wiz: In case you weren't aware, Antimatter is an extremely volatile substance. If a single gram of it comes into contact with another substance, then it will explode with the force of over 40 kilotons of TNT, and even then, the antimatter itself being released would literally destroy the targets matter regardless of how tough or strong it really was.
Boomstick: No wonder that's the reason why they explode. And just imagine the amount of damage they do when Drobot's firing out four shots every second as part of the last upgrade for the Mega Blasters. And if they're focused on straightforward blasts, then his Bladegears are the exact opposite.
Wiz: Fired from different angles of Drobot's body, the Bladegears will bounce off walls and, hopefully, into any targets that get in their path.
Boomstick: Kinda hard for them to hit a target when Drobot can't aim them properly but with the right upgrades they can become much more useful. In an upgrade to fire a third right out from in front of himself along with the ones that let them deal greater levels of damage, including one that lets them explode on impact. But it's his Wow-Power ability that's the real standout. He's able to create an extra large Blade-gear that he can control in order to directly steer into targets.
Wiz: And like most dragons, Drobot can also fly, although he doesn't just use his wings but also technology to do so. With Thruster Flight, his speed and armor are increased and he can get two upgrades for it; one that allows him to hover in place and the other is his Soul Gem, which causes the Thrusters to emit fire from them during flight, damaging most anything he dashes by.
Boomstick: Making him a dragon that emits fire from another angle, and I'm not talking about the butt. And with all these powers, he sought out the Skylanders and joined them, leading to another boost to his already incredible power.
Wiz: Thanks to being in such close proximity to the legendary Core of Light, Drobot became a LightCore Skylander, meaning that whenever he touches down, he unleashes a massive blast of light, capable of clearing an entire area of enemies.
Boomstick: Not that he can't do that already. He's described as being incredibly analytical in battle on top of being incredibly ferocious. And his power armor is nothing to be scoffed at. One time, when his fellow Skylander Lightning Rod absorbed the power of 1000 Windbag Djinnis, Drobot was able to harness the power for himself to empower his Afterburners to an insane degree.
Wiz: More impressively, he even overpowered Spyro flame breath with his anti-matter charges, the very same super breath which had just recently destroyed a black-hole from the inside, and can keep up and react faster to Skylanders who use light based weaponry.
Boomstick: Not only did his armor process the energy but Drobot himself was able to withstand the velocity of the super-fast travel the newfound energy gave him. And of course, he can throw down with either other Skylanders or their dark copies. And really, Drobot doesn't possess any individual weakness, although as a Tech Skylander, he is weak to those of the Earth element.
Wiz: And there's the teeny-tiny problem that he's now stuck in miniature toy form. Not the best scenario. In fact, thinking about it, it must be sorta nightmarish. Actually, like many Skylanders, Drobot seems to take it in stride. In fact, even in his frozen state, his mind still operates, working on means to free himself from his prison. It's safe to say this dragon-
Boomstick: Crossed with a robot.
Wiz:-Will never stop fighting, nor inventing.
'BLINK AND DESTROY'
Interlude[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!
The Battle[]
At a de-activated portal inside the Rampant Ruins, a troll takes out an energy source from his bag and places it inside, the portal activating it. He adds in co-ordinates in hopes of bringing forth a powerful warrior from another dimension. The portal opens up in a bright white light- as a dragon’s silhouette begins to emerge from the portal. It then cuts to Drobot (inside his research lab) working on another Power suit- infused with time hopping capabilities.
Drobot sees Meta-Ridley on his security hologram and looks to see a robotic dragon destroying every village around the Rampant Ruins and killing every single living thing in sight. We see Ridley in his next village firing a thick breath of plasma at the houses, and chasing and eating fleeing Mabu.
Meta-Ridley: Prepare yourselves worms, I’m the death of you and this world.
Ridley flies over to the next island village, to continue to fill his need for senseless violence, death and destruction.
Meta Ridley: (Laughing) So much fun, I will devour you all.
He picks up a Mabu civilian as Drobot flies in.
Drobot: Hands off the dude, psycho! No one really likes a crazy train?
Meta-Ridley turns around holding the helpless Mabu.
Drobot: Oh yeah! (Drobot blasts Meta-Ridleys had with a high charge laser, causing him to let go of the Mabu) this place is protected. I'll send you the bill for all the damage you’ve done.
Meta-Ridley continues to scream at the top of his lungs- at sign of battle for him.
Drobot: Bring it on.
Meta-Ridley gives off a psychopathic laugh as he activates his weaponry and flies towards Drobot and activates his suits main power.
Meta-Ridley: Remember my face little dragon. For when I hang your skin on my wall- I will relish in your blood.
FIGHT!
Drobot and Meta-Ridley charge towards each other and full speed and, as Drobot begins his attack by firing a full barrage of lasers, but easily being repelled by Meta-Ridleys force field, as he lands a full force punch into Drobot’s chest, sending him flying back into the mountains side wall Drobot retaliates by blasting a series of uranium gears towards Ridley but all this causes for Ridley is to pull himself back at hyper-sonic speed. Why’ll doing so he launches his multi-system missiles but not before Drobot uses his afterburner system for a sudden burst of speed to void them, as the missiles damage the mountain side of the area.
Drobot tries to barrage Meta-Ridley with a significant amount of laser shots multiple times, and using his after burners to try and out maneuver him and attempting to melt the armors or its circuitry, but nothing seems to be working.
Meta-Ridley: (Laughing) little fool both I and my armour are invincible!
Drobot pulls out and charges up one of his Supreme Buzz saws and aims for Ridley’s neck.
Drobot: How about we test that little theory?
He fires it resulting in it managing to cut a massive gap between Ridley’s shoulders and tearing apart his suit- but soon notices that Ridley’s body beginning to regenerate itself, but it still doesn't faze Ridley (even a little) as he grabs Drobot and slams a Meson Bomb directly into Drobot's face causing him to be sent flying all the way into the next island. Ridley crushes Drobot’s tail while holding him upside down.
Meta-Ridley: I thought you were supposed to be tough.
Drobot: Hey, you're the one who looks like a giant rusty junk pile with legs. No judging!
Meta-Ridley slams him again and tosses him into the air why’ll being followed by a direct shot from Ridley’s signature Kinetic Breath- causing a great deal of pain for Drobot.
Meta-Ridley throws himself towards Drobot, Firing his thermal Flame streak projector directly towards him- why’ll savagely throwing his claws and whip like tail at the dragon to slice him in two, but he is fast enough and nimble enough and dodges it and uses his lasers to disorient Ridley. Ridley laughs as he unleashes a fully charged kinetic beam at Drobot, but it is easily dodged- but in turn destroys a small island in the distance.
Drobot: ok, now’s the time!
Drobots fires multiple exploding blade-gears into Ridleys chest, temporarily studding him.
Ridley: This is Impossible! How could a runt like you.... Aaaargh
Drobot: All right! Let’s really make a dent in your armor!
Drobot pulls out one out one of his Supreme Buzz saw and tosses it at Ridley.
Ridley: You honestly think that is going to work...?
Before he can say what it was Ridley blocks the Buzz saw from reaching his face with his left arm- but the blade slices it in half, before being knocked off course, and forced to watch Ridley regenerate a new arm in a matter of seconds.
Drobot: I need to remove his armor- that is currently the only way I will be able to achieve victory (thinking to himself).
Drobot then switches his main blasters setting to his anti-matter rays knowing that these could hurt Ridley’s chance of survivals.
Drobot: OK! Time to show you what a hero can do.
Meta-Ridley then fires another kinetic energy blasts at Drobot catching him off guard and sending him flying.
Meta-Ridley: Honestly I was expecting better...
Drobot is unable to react in time and the energy explosion sends him crashing into an island. Meta-Ridley flies over to the island and ready’s his teeth and claws for the killing blow.
Meta-Ridley: Thanks for playing little dragon. It was a... slaughter.
Drobot then breaks out of the island- activating his anti-matter blasters.
Drobot: No problem pal! But it’s time the both of us got serious.
They charge at each other. Meta Ridley swings his claws and tail towards the tiny dragon, but Drobot is able to blast of his arms and tails using his anti-matter weaponry- forcing him to regenerate. Drobot starts ramming into Meta-Ridley’s chest full force, but Ridley is just able to maneuver around them. The two then proceed to blast anti-matter rays and kinetic energy breath at one another, countering blow-for-blow, before one final swift punch and tail whip from Ridley knocks Drobot to the ground. Drobot then proceeds to use his afterburners at full speed and force forward into Meta-Ridley before grabbing him, then flies down and drags Meta-Ridley through an Island. Ridley attempts to escape, but Drobot pushes him back with one claw and continues until Ridley is hit with the full force of his anti-matter charges and forced through another island (along with destroying the last piece of hit robotic suit). Drobot flies upward while Ridley is in mid-air, regenerating from the loss of his armor, then blasts Ridley downward to the village streets near a town hall. After Drobot lands, he flies forward toward Ridley, who has just gotten back up and fully regenerated. Ridley charges as well towards Drobot and the two grab each other, with Ridley’s claws and tail attempting to slice and dice the little dragon. Both stand their ground, to which Ridley begins to laugh. A red energy courses through Drobots battle suit and Drobot is pushed back.
Metal and scraps of material begin to wrap around Ridley forming him a new suit of armors for the one that was destroyed.
Drobot: Your a disgrace to all dragons
Drobot tries blasting away Ridley’s new armours, but only to a new piece to replace a piece he had blasted off, this only causes the villain to laugh.
Ridley: You call that power? Ha! You are nothing!
Drobot readies his full power antimatter blasters and after-burner hydraulics.
Ridley: I’m the living embodiment of power, you are nothing more than another ant to crush under my...
Drobot smashes through Ridley’s manipulated wall of rubble.
Ridley: What, that cannot be?
Drobot charges up for one last anti-matter blast.
Drobot: Game over, freak show!
Ridley dodges Drobot’s energy shot. As Drobot, is temporarily stunned due to some much energy being released.
Ridley starts looking angrier and getting ready to go totally berserk towards a dragon who has just humiliated him, raising his claws for a full power killing blow.
Ridley: Little twit, you dare to make me look like some kind of fool. You choose a poor opponent to fight, prepare to be erased from existence.
Ridley hold up his claw and targets the young dragon’s neck for the final killing blow.
Drobot: (beneath his breath) Alright this guy's too dangerous to capture, I'm putting him down.
Ridley swings his the charged attack at Drobot, causing a minor explosion and sending Drobot into a building. Ridley flies forward.
Ridley: I’m your death.
Drobot’s preforms a powerful swing from his tail, causing the drill spear to cut through Ridley’s eyes, causing Ridley to balk off and scream, as the fallen hero gets back up.
Drobot: I don't know. Being one’s death can't be too hard. I mean, I'm the most intelligent dragon in the entire universe. I'm not anyone’s death. All this time... I've been these peoples spark of hope.
Drobot charges at Ridley full speed, breaking through his armor and knocking him back. Ridley tries to blast him with a kinetic blast, but Drobot blocks the power. Ridley then tries using more of his kinetic breath on his foe, swinging more randomly and becoming more psychotic, but Drobot dodges all of it and grabs Ridley’s arms.
Drobot: I'll take this!
Drobot then blasts off Ridley’s arm with his antimatter blasters, and grabs the rest of Ridleys body, significantly weakening from the fight.
Ridley: What? What are you?
Drobot: As, you said- the last face you’ll ever see.
Drobot charges up the power and pulls Ridley across the islands. He tosses Ridley towards another island and through a building and then tosses him back up into the air.
Drobot: Its over now!
Drobot unleashes a massive anti-matter attack that disintegrates Ridley, killing him- and leaving nothing left for him to regenerate from. Drobot then lands on the ground as a building near him collapses.
Drobot: Target terminated
K.O!
Drobot collecting the remaining Ridley technology
Outcome[]
Boomstick: Hell Yeah, we just watched fantasy and sci-fi babies fight, and the kiddy one won- that's awesome.
Wiz: Both Drobot and Ridley possessed incredible pieces of technology, but and both where naturally prepared for anything. Although Ridley's absurd regeneration powers, could heal him from fatal wounds, they do wear down over-time, and many times he's survived was with the help of Space Pirates. But also he needed something to regenerate from.
Boomstick: And, since Drobots lasers where literally anti-matter, which is the stuff that detroys matter, he couldn't regenerate. And also, his gears are literally radioactive, so he was literally giving Ridley cancer every time they hit him.
Wiz: Meta Ridley could take hits from a planet exploding, making it able to take a force of over 63 sextillion tons of TNT, but Drobots managed to over-power Spyro's fire breath who had used the same thing to internally destroy a black hole that was threatening to destroy Skylands.
Boomstick: Since no official size of Skylands has been given, and seeing as it is referred to as 'endless'- but we have seen images that the Skyland's is about the size of a galaxy, or could be its own pocket universe.
Wiz: Even downgraded to a galaxy, it would mean that Drobot could dish out an energy of 11 ZettaFoe (over 11 million supernova's) which is way greater than whatever Ridley’s suit could take, the Ridley’s suit couldn’t do that good in damaging Drobots.
Boomstick: Woah, so this little robot dragon can at his weakest destroy galaxies, and at his strongest he can attack with the big bang that doesn't seem right.
Wiz: Actually considering, many Skylanders could hold their own against the Darkness, Kaos, His mom and Eon, who are all beings who can alter and warp the Sylands with ease, it isn't that hard to believe that these top tier Skylanders could do the same.
Boomstick: Alright, I'm going Skylander shopping after this, I'll have my own army of galaxy destroying terrors now.
Wiz: Ridley did hold one advantage which was his speed and size as he was much faster than Drobot, being able to easily fly faster than light- and unlike Drobot, would use his teeth and claws in a fight, so he had more options compared to Drobot and held the advantage at close range. But Drobot has faced beings faster than him and regenerators before and has come out victorious so these did not ensure him a win- and despite preferring to stay at long range, is now stranger to fighting opponents up close. Plus, despite being smaller than Ridley, it made him more maneuverable and harder to hit.
Boomstick: So when Ridley entered a rage and started swinging and only, he wasn't going to hit much.
Wiz: Also, if we base it off tactics and intelligence- there is no way Ridley could beat Drobot. Why’ll Ridley did figure out teleportation and invisibility. Drobot is considered one of the smartest beings in Skylands, who have made inventions of Time travel, Dimension Hopping and a teleporter that can move across the entire universe.
Boomstick: Ironic, I know, but with a keen intellect in both battles and robotics, Drobot had another useful advantage.
Wiz: Wiz: As deadly and ruthless a creature as Meta Ridley was, which in the right circumstances could have given him the win, Drobot's power, speed and intelligence meant the Tech Skylander proved that a robotic dragon would come out over a the psychopathic monster.
Boomstick: Something that I accept, but also grinds my gears.
The winner is Drobot.
