History[]
Draco Lucius Malfoy was born on 5 June 1980, the son of Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Black, both the scions of old, pure-blood wizard families, and both ardent supporters of the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort. Draco grew up in Malfoy Manor, surrounded by his family’s prejudices, and friends and associates of his parents who had similar opinions. Though his father wanted him to attend Durmstrang Institute, a school specializing in the Dark Arts, his mother helped see to it that he attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, instead.
There, he became the favored student of Severus Snape, the master of the Dark Arts and developed a rivalry with Harry Potter. However, in spite of his attempts to bully and showcase his superiority to him, Malfoy could never surpass Potter, in time, the rivalry grew to somewhat of a mutual respect. In spite of his supposedly ardent stance of his beliefs his family left him, Draco is actually frightened and unsure of himself, until he discovers his true calling: that what mattered to him is the home he called Hogwarts and its people his family, not the Dark Lord himself.
