Death Battle Info[]

Doomfist is one of the few characters in Overwatch designed for Melee Combat. He is designed to Dive at an opponent and aggressively engage in 1 on 1 combat; using combos to deal high DPS. His Dashing attacks and Knockback allow Doomfist to control the positioning of his opponent to his favor to maintain his Close Range advantage. He is dependent on this Close Range combat, however; his large Hitbox makes him an easy target for Snipers. The Doomfist Gauntlet needs to cool down as well; meaning that Doomfist can be temporarily exposed to counter attacks if he exhausts himself fighting a Tank or large squad.

  • Name: Akande Ogundimu
  • Age: 45
  • Height: 7'1
  • The Third Doomfist: The Successor
  • Nigerian: base located in Oyo, Nigeria
  • One of the leaders of Talon
  • His family is the owner of a company focused around prosthetic limbs.

Traits & Abilities[]

  • 250 Health (400 max via The Best Defense)
  • Cyborgnetic right arm strong enough to eventually destroy a prison wall: without the Gauntlet. [1]
    • Doomfist lost his organic right arm during the Omnic Crisis.
    • The strength of this arm further enhances the power of the Doomfist Gauntlet.
  • Champion of multiple martial-arts tournaments; long before getting his cybernetics and Gauntlet
  • Apprenticed by the previous Doomfist: Akinjide Adeyem.

Hand Cannon[]

  • A Shotgun that fires from his left knuckles.
  • 4 rounds at a time.
  • Recharges over time.
  • 11 Damage per shot: 6 shots per round
    • 66 Damage per round (if all 6 shots land)

Doomfist Gauntlet[]

  • The Best Defense
    • Adds barriers to his HP by at most 150
    • Boost is gained through his Doomfist punch abilities; 30 per hit (75 per hit via Meteor Strike).
    • Boost is temporary and drains over time. Does not heal damaged health.
    • Can get these boosts from punching turrets as well.
  • Seismic Slam
    • A shock wave that drags enemies towards him.
    • Allows Doomfist to leap forwards: the higher Doomfist is the longer he leaps. This makes it a good combo after using Rising Uppercut.
    • 40-125 damage.
      • Damage is determined by how much airtime Doomfist had before landing: making it deadliest when Doomfist jumps off of high places
  • Rising Uppercut
    • A punch that sends Doomfist and his enemies upwards.
    • 50 damage.
    • Only affects those in front of Doomfist
  • Rocket Punch
    • A dashing punch that sends opponents flying.
    • 50 - 100 damage
      • Additional 50 - 150 damage if the enemy is sent flying into a wall (250 total).
        • This additional damage only applies to direct hits, not glancing blows.
    • Resistant or immune to all Knockback and Crowd-Control abilities (except stuns).
    • 10-20 m range
    • Stuns
    • Can be canceled; although it still needs to cool down.
    • Dashes at 200 mph.
    • A full charged punch is estimated to be AT LEAST the same force of a 300 kmph car crash. [2]
  • Meteor Strike
    • Doomfist jumps high into the air (10 seconds max) before slamming the ground with a punch that creates shock waves.
    • 300 Damage at ground-zero
    • Impact zone of ~7-meter radius.
    • Creates a targeting laser to allow Doomfist to aim. This laser also predicts the impact zone crater.
    • Works indoors as well.

Feats[]

  • Rumored to be able to level skyscrapers. [3]
  • Killed his teacher; the previous Doomfist, Akinjide Adeyem.
  • Defeated a squad of Or-15s. [4]
  • Defeated Genji and Tracer; taking each out with one hit despite their agility.
  • Dodged Winston's Tesla Cannon at point-blank range
  • Can jump at least 360ft in the air via Meteor Strike.
  • Rocket-Punch is the 2nd deadliest non-ult attack in the game behind Reinhardt's charge.

Faults[]

  • Doomfist is primarily suited for close to mid-ranged combat instead of Long-Range combat: making him vulnerable against Snipers.
  • Rocket Punch can be interrupted if Doomfist is stunned
  • Doomfist is rather dependent on his abilities
    • Sombra's hack can temporarily cripple Doomfist.
  • Doomfist is at a disadvantage in enclosed spaces such as being indoors, as it restricts his mobility
  • Characters with high HP can survive Doomfist's combos; making Doomfist vulnerable to counter attacks as he waits for his cooldowns.
  • Characters immune to the knockback of Rocket Punch (Orisa and Bastion) can prevent the secondary high damage of the attack.
  • Doomfist is relatively large making him a rather easy target to hit at times; making him vulnerable to characters with high DPS.

Failures[]

  • Defeated by Winston in his Primal Rage State.

Trivia[]

  • Many fans wanted the Old Spice icon Terry Crews to voice Doomfist. Terry turned down the role, knowing that Doomfist's lore and personality conflicts with what fans expected from Terry. However, Terry is willing to voice any new characters if it's fitting. [5]
  • Orisa is actually one of the best characters to fight Doomfist due to her superior range, tanky HP, and Fortify: so his victory against a squad of OR15s is very impressive.
