Donkey Kong vs Rillaboom is a What-If?Death Battle by LakuitaBro01.2

Description:[]

Donkey Kong vs Pokemon! Two Nintendo gorillas monkey around in a fight for their lives! Will the king of the jungle trounce the Drummer pokemon? Or will Rillaboom's beats beat the OG gorilla?

Interlude:[]

Wiz: Primates are mankind's closest relative in the animal kingdom. The vast amount of species is enough to write a while book about even.

Boomstick: But the most terrifying of our cousins is the gorilla. They don't know how to do any workouts and they naturally lift 10 times their body weight!

Wiz: Wait until you hear about silverback gorillas, Boomstick.

Boomstick: Silver-what gorillas?

Wiz: Donkey Kong, Nintendo's very own mascot gorilla.

Boomstick: And Rillaboom, the Drummer Pokemon. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick:

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to see who would win a Death Battle.

Donkey Kong:[]

Wiz: Donkey Kong Island is home to an abundance of creatures, all of which are varying shapes, sizes, and colors. Although there's been many threats from various groups to take over the island, one animal stands against them all.-

Boomstick: He's the leader of the bunch, you know him well! He's finally back to kick some tail! DK! Donkey Kong!

Wiz: Donkey Kong protects his island and all those that inhabit it, no amount of tikis, penguins, or crocodiles can deter him from keeping everything he holds dear safe.

Boomstick: Which luckily for everyone, he holds his banana horde dearest and those pesky villains can't seem to just keep away from it.

Wiz: Standing at nearly 8 feet tall and being composed of almost entirely muscle. He's not the smartest, possibly due to some serious head malformations, but he's still a skilled fighter.

Boomstick: What do you mean "serious head malformations"?

Wiz: You see the curl in his hair?

Boomstick: Yeah?

Wiz: That's a part of his skull.

Boomstick: Oh holy SHIT! His head's shaped like an ice cream cone!

Wiz: True to his nature as a gorilla, DK's fighting expertise is found in using his weight, long reach, and insane strength rather than style. This sheer strength alone has landed him wins against several karate masters and his own rival King K. Rool.

Boomstick: DK usually rolls his body into enemies, or crushes them with his weight, but he still has his own techniques. Like his old buddy Mario, DK has his own Ground Pound, albeit he actually slams the ground.

Wiz: He can rotate his body quickly enough to achieve height over long horizontal distances, headbutt someone so hard they get trapped underground, or wind up a massive punch strong enough to send a moon careening into the planet.

Boomstick: Granted said moon was just barely bigger than DK Island, but the amount of force required to deliver that punch is nearly 8 Teratons of force! How much is a teraton, you ask?

Wiz: The strongest bomb in the world is the Tsar Bomba, which had a yield of 58 megatons, meaning that you'd need give or take 20,000 tsar bombas combined to recreate a SEVENTH of the energy behind Donkey Kong's punch.

Boomstick: True to DK's nature as an ape, he's learned how to use a couple of important tools on his journeys, such as his Coconut gun! Firing powerful homing coconuts, this gun helps DK play the long ranged game.

Wiz: Or alternatively, DK is capable of using grenades made of oranges. Don't ask how it's possible, just know that it somehow works.

Boomstick: Ah, a citrus explosion for the taste buds...

Wiz: Perhaps Donkey Kong's biggest trump card is his Strong Kong ability, it's basically Mario's Invincibility Star in a barrel.

Boomstick: Even though it only lasts for a few seconds, there's no stopping DK once he starts going on his rampage.

Wiz: Donkey Kong is strong enough to move the moon with a punch, consistently beat his rival King k. Rool, and has been shown capable of many impressive feats of strength.

Boomstick: He can keep up with his nephew Diddy, who in turn is just as fast as Dixie Kong, who outran cloud to ground lightning. The big ape himself can punch fast enough to ignite hydrogen in the air.

Wiz: He's survived two falls from orbit and withstood the force from his own punch with only a slightly hurt fist AFTER surviving the blast that sent him into orbit.

Boomstick: That's why he's the leader of the bunch! Though he has one huge weakness: He's an idiot.

Wiz: Donkey Kong is incredibly stupid. He was too stupid for mind control to work on him, he was convinced he was a reptile after suffering amnesia, and his laziness cost him a business where his only task was to open coconuts.

Boomstick: Give him some credit Wiz, he's the leader of the bunch and you know him well, so maybe he'll just kick some tail.

Rillaboom:[]

Wiz: Galar, known for its beautiful scenery and its intense, passionate love for Pokemon battles. Televised to the entire region, the Galar Gym Challenge attracts hundreds every year just for a chance at becoming Galar's champion.

Boomstick: Yet when I air dog fights on the radio, the police are knocking down my door! Naturally in a world where diverse animal life roams, the Pokemon of Galar are nothing to laugh at.

Wiz: Especially when talking about Galar's starter Pokemon: Sobble, Scorbunny, and Grookey. Grookey is the Chimp Pokemon, and as it evolves it becomes the hulking 6'11 Drummer Pokemon: Rillaboom. Why's it called Rillaboom anyway?

Boomstick: It's a pun. Pokemon's signature is saying "Go" and then whatever creature they're using, so in this case, it's "Go Rillaboom!"

Wiz: What kinda of God creates a creature just for its name to be a pun?

Boomstick: The Japanese.

Wiz: Right, well Rillaboom are usually docile creatures. Living in the forests of Galar, Rillaboom live in groups, and usually the one who plays the drums the best becomes the leader.

Boomstick: HE'S THE LEADER OF THE BUNCH- alright I'll stop. The big gorilla, despite being a music loving creature, is far from weak. Not only can it control plant life, but it has an array of moves at its disposal, such as Drum Beating. Its signature attack, Rillaboom goes nuts on the bongos and whacks the opponent with some tree roots, and it could lower their speed too.

Wiz: Rillaboom can use Knock Off to disarm opponents, Growl to lower their attack, Screech to lower their defense, Slam, or Boomburst to hit from a distance. Rillaboom can use Endeavor to bring its foe down to the same "health" as them as well.

Boomstick: If the Drummer needs to heal, it can put down a Grassy Terrain to slowly build its health up over time, although the opponent can be healed too. Perfect balance to the devastating Wood Hammer which hurts Rillaboom if used, though then its Overgrow ability can trigger and boost its Grass type moves.

Wiz: A Rillaboom's biggest trump card is its ability to Gigantamax; a power swell in a Pokemon that changes its appearance and makes it even more powerful.

Boomstick: Growing to an outtstanding height of 91'10 with a possible extra few feet tacked onto that, Rillaboom's music becomes so loud and so groovy that people across the ocean are forced to dance along to it! You think knows how to play "You're Welcome"?

Wiz: Due to its status as a Starter Pokemon, Rillaboom should be comparable in power to Pokemon such as Charizard and Tyranitar, the former being able to melt glaciers and even mountains with its flame breath and the latter being able to topple them in a previous evolution.

Boomstick: To further back this up, Gigantamax Rillaboom draws from the same source as Gigantamax Drednaw, which is reportedly capable of devouring mountains.

Wiz: Pokemon are capable of dodging lightning attacks as well, and Rillaboom certainly is no exception to this rule.

Boomstick: Pokemon like Rillaboom are also capable of dodging Solar Beam, a light based attack that attacks with, well, light. Judging from how Pokemon like Golem can dodge it, the average fully evolved Pokemon could move at around Relativistic speeds.

Wiz: However Rillaboom is not without flaw. Without a trainer, Pokemon battle tactics are almost nonexistent and they tend to be left completely animalistic in nature if not for a select few exceptions.

Boomstick: Can you blame it though? It's a gorilla, and one powerful and groovy one at that.

Death Battle:[]

Gym Leader - Pokemon SWSH

The intense roaring of the crowd could be heard for miles around, the last match of Galar's Gym Challenge was reaching its peak in the final round: Champion Leon vs Trainer Beverley. Gigantamax Charizard clashed with Gigantamax Drednaw, and as the smoke cleared, the fallen Charizard made it clear as to who the winner was.

Saddened by his defeat at first, Leon graciously accepted defeat and swore in the new champion of Galar. Beverley was hailed like a queen, and soon after she left the pitch to prepare for the award ceremony, the festivities were introduced to the crowd.

A band of four Pokemon: two Toxtricity, one Obstagoon, and one Rillaboom.

"Please welcome the PokeTroop!" the announcer yelled in excitement over the microphone. The audience roared with excitement once more as the four Pokemon began to play their songs. The melody certainly caught the attention of one great ape in the forest nearby.

Brown and lumbering, the big ape scratched his back as he made his way to the stadium, tossing a banana off to the side. Allured by the music, he wanted to know what was going on nearby. He climbed the outside of the stadium and peered into it from the top. He saw Rillaboom playing on its drum and he got excited, he was allured by the drums!

This excited ape was Donkey Kong, and he hurriedly ran off into the forest to go collect an item near and dear to him.

Thirty minutes later, the grand finale for the PokeTroop was underway, and the last song opened with a drum solo. Donkey Kong had returned with his own set of bongos and sat up top, studying the other gorilla's movements.

The stadium was dead quiet. Rillaboom raised its drumstick in the air, and Donkey Kong raised his open fist above his bongo.

The Drummer pokemon began to beat its drum, where as Donkey Kong was slapping his bongos trying to imitate what Rillaboom was doing. All heads turned, looking for the source of the sound, and even Rillaboom stopped and looked around.

Rillaboom hit his drum once more and off in the distance everyone heard the bongo. It was then Rillaboom spotted Donkey Kong up on top of the stadium. Every time the Pokemon hit his drums, the big ape copied him.

The Drummer began to breathe hard as this went on for up to a minute. It slammed the drum with its stick and stared back up at Donkey Kong, daring him to hit his bongo.

"...bonk..."

Crocodile Cacophony - SSBU

Rillaboom roared and put the drum on its back and ran through the bleachers towards the top of the stadium, audience members literally diving out of the enraged gorilla's way. Donkey Kong looked confused and slowly began to back up.

Rillaboom threw itself at Donkey Kong, sending the two of them to the ground in a spiral. DK grabbed onto a rope and swung safely to the ground, whereas Rillaboom landed on his feet and slammed the ground with his fists, shattering the concrete.

The two big apes circled each other, their animalistic natures completely taking over.

FIGHT!

They clashed in the middle of the staging area, gorilla hand gripped in gorilla hand attempting to overpower the other. Donkey Kong grunted and tossed Rillaboom into a concession stand, causing it to fall apart. The Drummer Pokémon stood up with a party streamer draped across its face, and despite the appearance, it was incredibly angry.

Donkey Kong laughed, but Rillaboom slammed the ground and used Growl loudly, shaking the big brown ape. Then it pulled out one of its drumsticks and used Slam, whacking Donkey Kong down a flight of concrete steps.

"Rilla!" it roared as it swung down towards the tumbling DK, and jumped with its fists clenched together overhead, ready to slam it down onto his foe. DK stopped rolling and looked up, smiled, and caught the blow with one hand. Rillaboom let out a shocked expression and was thrown into a nearby home.

The civilians inside scrambled for cover as the monkey brawl tore apart the living room. A coffee table was smashed over a head, a vase broke, the TV was smashed, and a bookshelf was thrown through a wall. In the end, Rillaboom smacked the Kong in the face and punched him out through the front door. The brown ape rolled into a fire hydrant and broke it, spraying water all over the place.

The Drummer rushed outside towards the water, but DK jumped out from behind it and landed a headbutt on the unsuspecting ape, leaving him in the ground. The Kong grabbed his foe by the leg and slammed him on the ground, then up in the air, and then landed a blow in his side, sending him flying down the pavement and into a car, wrecking it.

Rillaboom stood up and shook off the blow. Donkey Kong clapped his hands together, laughing at how weak the Drummer was, until he saw the ape take its drum out. Donkey Kong got closer, not quite understanding what it was about to do, when Rillaboom Growled and slammed his drumsticks hard on the drum, using Boomburst.

The sound was so loud and so destructive that trees near Rillaboom were knocked over, car alarms were set off all up and down the street, some windows shattered, and Donkey Kong was sent crashing into a street lamp, bending it to fit his figure.

Rillaboom put his drum away and rushed the stunned ape, grabbing him by the legs and tossed him down an alleyway into the side of a dumpster. Donkey Kong stood up and rushed his foe once more, but was caught in a Drum Beating and was mercilessly whipped by the roots.

Screeching filled the air, the noise grating against DK's ears, as it seemed now the Drummer Pokémon was having a nice laugh at how his foe was on the backfoot. Regardless, the brown ape stood strong and threw the dumpster at Rillaboom. He caught it, but DK landed on top of the dumpster and grabbed Rillaboom by the head, tossing him into the nearby forest.

As Rillaboom crashed into the tree tops and caught himself on a branch, Donkey Kong had already arrived at the forest's edge, looking for his adversary.

Little did he know, said adversary was sitting in a tree above him with his drum raised over his head.

Big Top Bop - DKC: TP

Donkey Kong heard the crashing of foliage, but before he could react, he was met with a glowing drum being slammed into the back of his head, sending him to the floor. Rillaboom rolled and grunted in pain as the recoil from his Wood Hammer took affect.

The Kong got up and rolled into his foe, sending the gorilla sliding along the ground. Rillaboom stood up and used Drum Beating once more, but DK began to spun his body quickly, batting away the incoming roots with ease. He spun right into Rillaboom, catching him in an outstretched arm, and flung him through a great big oak tree, which bend in half upon impact.

As the tree fell, DK caught it and swung it like a bat at Rillaboom, who mustered his strength to catch the blow. With one arm, Rillaboom hit the tree trunk with its drumstick, sending roots jutting out towards DK, pushing him back away from the tree. The Pokémon then roared and spun with the tree, smacking DK with it into a cliff face.

The great ape flew through the rock face and into a cavern, but not just any cavern, it was the cavern that contained his banana horde. Rillaboom jumped inside the cave and screeched, irking DK. The lustrous, golden bananas shined in the Drummer's eyes. Allured by such a massive supply of food, Rillaboom's attention was taken away from his foe long enough for DK to grab a barrel and chuck it at the Drummer, throwing him out of the cave.

DK looked around for supplies, grabbed his Coconut Gun and a Strong Kong barrel and jumped out onto the cliff overlooking the forest. He saw no sign of Rillaboom, but the cliff shook violently, and roots of a tree ripped up from underneath DK, tossing him into the forest below. The Pokemon readied another Wood Hammer, but the Kong grabbed a vine and swung to safety while firing off several coconuts.

Rillaboom dodged, but as the coconuts turned to home in on him, he found himself getting hit in the back repeatedly with the hard fruit. DK stood up on a tree and rained down coconuts from above, and the Pokémon tried its hardest to take cover from the onslaught. It closed its eyes and beat on its drum, using Grassy Terrain to heal its damages.

The ape above looked at the glowing ground in confusion, and that was enough time for Rillaboom to use Razor Leaf and knock his foe from his perch. Donkey Kong tumbled to the ground and landed on his face, and Rillaboom rushed over to him and used Knock Off as he got up, slapping the Coconut Gun far away.

DK was shocked, but with a quick grab, he had tossed Rillaboom several meters away and took out his Strong Kong barrel and jumped inside. Before Rillaboom could reach him in time, DK popped out, glowing, and delivered a swift punch to Rillaboom, sending him flying back to the stadium.

Marnie - Pokemon SWSH

People were still clearing out when Rillaboom went crashing down into the pitch from above, tearing up grass and dirt as it slid all the way to the far wall. The shining Donkey Kong wasn't too far behind once Rillaboom got up. Rillaboom threw a punch at Donkey Kong, who stood there unfazed, in fact, Donkey Kong smiled down at the green gorilla.

Then Donkey Kong quite literally went ape, he slammed Rillaboom down to the ground and jumped on his repeatedly, slamming his fists into the gorilla repeatedly, with each blow shaking the stadium. Rillaboom crawled away and jumped to the other side of the pitch and laid down a Grassy Terrain, but DK's assault didn't let up.

Even when Drum Beating caught DK, he just powered through and grabbed Rillaboom by the throat and bashed him into the walls of the pitch. The civilians inside just stood there staring at the complete brutalization going on in front of them when DK chucked Rillaboom into the other wall. Rillaboom was separated from its drum, and a big ape was in his way.

"BOOM!" the Drummer screeched, making DK cover his ears in pain. He then ran past the gorilla and to his drum, and as the Kong gained on him, he slammed the drum, using Boomburst, and blasted the Kong into the other wall.

Donkey Kong screamed as he went flying. The wall was left with a sizable imprint of Donkey Kong in it, but the blow didn't both DK. DK ran back at Rillaboom, skillfully dodging anything in his way, and jumped towards Rillaboom.

The Drummer stared up in awe as the Kong descended with a heavy punch, knocking Rillaboom through the stadium pitch wall. As the ape landed rather gracefully, Strong Kong wore off. The Pokémon's feet were exposed, laying limp halfway out of the wall. Donkey Kong got closer, studying the damages he had done to his foe.

The Kong pulled out the Drummer, who was completely unconscious. Donkey Kong was startled once he began to stir, and began to charge his giant punch. Before DK could let it off, Rillaboom's eyes shot open and reached for one of his drumsticks.

His arm glowed white and he swung it at DK, using Endeavor. The drum stick found its way to smacking DK in the nuts. The gorilla froze in place with a shocked expression on his face, his eye twitching, and his legs crossed. Rillaboom used Slam and launched his foe into the middle of the pitch.

DK laid there for a few seconds before slamming a fist into the ground. He got up, enraged, and began to slam the ground repeatedly, cracking it greatly as Dynamax Energy began to pour into the stadium. Rillaboom froze at the site of it, and his foe ran up and chucked him away.

Skidding across the grass, Rillaboom found itself right in the middle of the Dynamax Energy spout. He began to glow and grew bigger as a result of it, becoming one with his drum and taking on the look of an entire forest.

DK grinned and slammed the ground as he prepared to face off with his new foe: Gigantamax Rillaboom.

Three Houses Main Theme - SSBU

Rillaboom pounded on his drum set, blasting at DK with plant life and roots repeatedly. The ape was able to dodge some, but was constantly hit with barrage after barrage. He jumped on the flowing roots and ran up towards his giant adversary, but as he tried to land his Giant Punch, Rillaboom put up a Max Guard, blocking the front of the damage.

The giant vine arm of Rillaboom grabbed DK and slammed him into the ground below, rupturing the field and leaving a crater. Civilians flooded out through the gates as DK literally grabbed a root and plucked it out of the ground and hurled it at the giant. Rillaboom's giant vine slapped it out of the air and answered back with Max Overgrowth, which blasted Donkey Kong into the stands.

Donkey Kong had grown extraordinarily weak and tired. His strength was sapped due to Rillaboom's Growl, he was more off guard due to Rillaboom's screeches, and the tendrils of Drum Beating had hurt his legs. He still held more power than his foe, however. Donkey Kong began to run through the bleachers and around towards the side of Rillaboom.

The Drummer Pokémon tore up the bleachers in an attempt to stop the ape from getting any closer, but DK was able to go over each attack and even throw seats at Rillaboom to distract it.

As the Kong closed in of the Pokémon, Rillaboom closed its eyes and stopped attacking. Donkey Kong smiles and ran off the bleachers and jumped in the air towards his foe, winding up his Giant Punch for the final blow.

Rillaboom's vine arm once more swatted at DK as the he threw out his Giant Punch, colliding with the arm and breaking it, while also sending him crashing to the ground.

Bruised and battered, the Kong stood back up to face Rillaboom who began to play a beat. Donkey Kong roared and rushed forwards, but the melody of Rillaboom's song found himself dancing uncontrollably.

He tried to stop dancing, but failed. He literally couldn't stop moving because the music was moving him.

Rillaboom began to play a drum solo on all the drums he had. Donkey Kong watched on as the ground beneath the behemoth glowed as G-Max Drum Solo reached its climax.

A massive system of roots erupted from the ground beneath Donkey Kong, tangling around him and trapping him inside the growing tree. Donkey Kong's roar was drowned out by the resulting explosion which shook the entirety of the city.

Once the smoke cleared, Rillaboom returned to his normal form while Donkey Kong was no where to be seen. Rillaboom had won the battle, but the PR nightmare he just caused was gonna cost his handlers a fortune.

KO!

Results:[]

Boomstick: He WAS the leader of the bunch!

Wiz: What looked like a landslide victory for Donkey Kong on the surface actually went a lot deeper than you might think. Donkey Kong's strength and durability is in the teraton range while Rillaboom's was close to the gigaton range with at least a 7000 times difference between the two of them.

Boomstick: But, and hear us out, strength and durability were only advantages Donkey Kong held over Rillaboom. Speed was a whole different factor; Donkey Kong could attack at Mach 33 speeds and he's comparable to his nephew's girlfriend who could dodge cloud to ground lightning.

Wiz: Even then, cloud to ground lightning has many variables to it, and it's hard to tell how high up the clouds are in the level where Dixie Kong dodges lightning. For the sake of the argument, lets high ball it to Mach 100. Where as that's impressive, Rillaboom should at least scale to Gyarados, considered both are in the same region, who can dodge Solar Beam.

Boomstick: This shit comes out to be half the speed of light! This means Rillaboom is over 4500 times faster than Donkey Kong, and that's not including the fact that the Kong is SLOWER than Dixie Kong.

Wiz: This is where the battle gets tricky. One hit from Donkey Kong could spell doom for Rillaboom, but at the same time, that one hit would have to be extremely lucky. This leaves a situation where neither have a surefire way to take down the other.

Boomstick: DK could use his Coconut Gun to shoot the Pokémon, but at the same time Rillaboom could dodge the attack and disarm DK with Knock Off and put the two back at square one. We were, however, able to come to one conclusion.

Wiz: Several of Rillaboom's moves are debuffs or are attacking moves with debuffs attached to them. What this means is that should Rillaboom use Growl, Donkey Kong's "attack" will be lowered, and same thing would happen with Screech and defense.

Boomstick: The lowest these moves can lower a foe's attack or durability is to a quarter of what it was. Rillaboom uses these moves several times and, for what it's worth, Donkey Kong's attack potency and durability becomes crippled. Along with this, Rillaboom has Endeavor, a move that brings the opponent's life down to the user's level.

Wiz: So 7000 times stronger becomes 1750 times stronger, which is still a lot. Then we add in the power of Gigantamax which shrinks that number further. As it's a power up, it should be stronger than Pokémon with Huge Power, and since we know Charizard can melt mountains, Pupitar topples them, and G-Max Drednaw eats them, let's be generous and put G-Max Rillaboom twice as strong as them at 1.5 gigatons.

Boomstick: Yeah, and then add in Overgrown and Rillaboom becomes a 2.25 gigaton monster! This drops 1750 down to 777, so would this be enough to hurt DK? Yes.

Wiz: While the gap seems massive, if you had a country the size of, say, Spain and destroyed a massive mountain there, there'd be a sizable dent in Spain. The same logic applies here. It may not hurt Donkey Kong too much, but after an Endeavor it'd certainly be the tipping point for the match.

Boomstick: All that math hurt my head. You take over Wiz, I'm gonna go take a walk in the forest so my head doesn't blow up.

Wiz: Due to his speed and versatility, the winner is Rillaboom.
