Marvel VS Sailor Moon! These two have grown into powerful masters of magic. Now Sorcerer Supreme faces Sailor Guardian in the Season Finale!

Doctor Strange vs. Sailor Moon is the 64th episode and Season 5 Finale of DEATH BATTLE! by Shadow7615, featuring Doctor Strange from Marvel Comics and Sailor Moon from the series of the same name in a battle between unlikely heroes turned masters of magic.

Interlude[]

Wiz: Magic, an art of mysticism and power. Over the years it has become a staple of fictional storytelling. And we have seen countless characters harness the awesome power of magic.

Boomstick: In the hands of best, they can protect the entire universe from extraordinary threats. Even the most unlikely of people can become the greatest hopes in the universe, like these two.

Wiz: Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme.

Boomstick: And Sailor Moon, the Pretty Guardian who fights for love and for justice! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Doctor Strange[]

Wiz: The things we are given in life are precisely what we shouldn't take for granted. Many characters have had their worlds changed forever, simply because they took whatever they possessed for granted, but only a few can claim to have had as life-shattering an experience as Stephen Strange.

Boomstick: Stephen watched his entire family die one by one while he just kept going, and his only solution was to get good at his medical career. But that, in turn, made him greedy, calculus and cold to the core, he may have been the best, but he was a massive dick.

Wiz: That is until one fateful day in 1963 where a tragic car accident robbed Stephen of the nerves in his hands. Unable to carry out his medical career to the degree he desired, Strange's life of fortune was wasted on treatments and potential cures to get his hands back to normal. But nothing worked, and Strange became desperate.

Boomstick: Desperate to the point when he heard about somebody called the Ancient One, Strange used the last of his resources to get himself to the East. What Strange found wasn't a cure for his injuries, but an opportunity to learn magic and become a hero in the protection of Earth from a whole plethora of threats.

Popup: One aspect of his training was the practice of hand gestures for spells and incantations. He is typically seen performing the same hand gesture that Spider-Man performs to web swing, both Strange and Peter realized this and they have been friends ever since.

Wiz: Strange agreed and underwent years of magical study to train him up to become Doctor Strange. His skillset is nothing short of versatile, while it’s difficult to name every magical capability he's picked up, Strange has become known for using a particular set of them. The Bands of Cyttorak bind the Doctor's victims, and can seemingly only be broken by powerful beings like the Hulk and Thanos.

Boomstick: The Flames of Faltine create an everlasting fire which surrounds opponents, a perfect tool for barbeques. The Bolts of Ballsack- I mean Balthakk launches electrical discharges. The Mists of Morpheus, not that cool guy from the Matrix, is a spell which lets Strange put people to sleep, and by using the Seven Rings of Raggadorr he can shield himself and trap opponents. I know he's one of the best magicians out there, but these names are too wild.

Wiz: Among his other skills include omnilingualism, soul manipulation, teleportation, flight, mind manipulation, transmutation, power nullification, sealing, time manipulation etc. However, Doctor Strange is not limited solely to these powers, he has amassed quite a collection of them over time, enough for him to succeed his mentor as Sorcerer Supreme.

Boomstick: And Strange was Sorcerer Supreme for a damn long time, although he has relinquished his title and position a few times here and there. But like an Ex who just won't let go, Doctor Strange always ends up being the Sorcerer Supreme again, and for good reason, Strange is among the most magically powerful beings in the Marvel Multiverse.

Popup: After he was retconned and forfeited his title, the modern version of Doctor Strange would ultimately regain the title of Sorcerer Supreme. However, his power never approached the pre-retcon levels of Classic Doctor Strange, making any comparison between them impractical.

Wiz: Thanks in no small part to his many, many powers. Including astral projection, which allows Strange to project his soul onto the astral plane, completely separate from his human body, although he does not retain all of his powers whilst in this state, requiring an artifact to do so. One's astral form doesn't even abide by the laws of physics. But Strange does have the aid of a few magical artifacts.

Boomstick: He carries the Cloak of Levitation, the best sentient cloak of all time, it lets him fly without using magic! The Wand of Watoomb gives Strange a power amp. Strange is no stranger to using artifacts in a fight, though most of them can’t come along with him if he leaves his physical body to enter the astral plane.

Wiz: Then there's the most powerful of his standard artifacts, the Eye of Agamotto. It can see all truth, recent events, reveal people through illusions and conjure a light that can weaken demonic and otherwise evil magical beings. Strange has even been able to activate it by his willpower alone. And if he goes into his astral form, the Eye will come along with him.

Boomstick: You might wonder where all Strange's power comes from, and well, it isn't a bunch of books he read in his Sanctum as Wiz would do. He gets his power from a few magical entities, the three big ones are called the Vishanti. He gets to borrow their powers to cast offensive and defensive spells.

Popup: Additionally, Strange can call upon other magical entities, namely the Octessence, Dormammu, Satannish and even the Olympian Gods.

Wiz: While it may appear Strange relies solely on entities and artifacts to combat opponents, this isn't the case. He's a skilled martial artist thanks to his training with Tibetan monks in Kamar Taj. Strange understood that using his magic meant his body needed to be in a physically sound state. And he's proficient with the use of magical weapons, as seen with the Axe of Angaruumus, a weapon capable of harming mystical foes.

Boomstick: He might not be as epically powerful as his classic self, but Strange is still a powerful force of magic. Enough that he can still beat his powerful adversaries like Baron Mordo. Heck, he can even restrain Galactus, that big planet eater. And one time he even channelled all of his magical power into a single strike on a crazy power boosted Galactus which wiped out the whole universe! And then Strange restored it!

Wiz: And when he obtained power from Yggdrasil, he was able to go head to head with Mephisto in his realm, which increased his power. And being comparable to Mephisto is impressive, as his battles with Galactus threatened both the main universe and his realm. The power of which Strange in his Classic version was more than capable of achieving.

Boomstick: And he's kept up with him too, so it makes sense to compare Strange to others with similar speeds, like Silver Surfer, who moved 500,000 lightyears in a short timeframe. That's what I like to call SFTL, aka Stupidly Faster than Light. Strange can even keep up with World War Hulk, who can keep up with other super fast dudes like Sentry.

Popup: While Strange's powers never reached the same levels as his Classic version, he should still be capable of battling those he has fought extensively in the past, namely Dormammu.

Wiz: While Strange is supremely powerful, and more than a threat to the majority of those in the Marvel universe, there are surprisingly simple ways to kill the good Doctor. Sure Strange isn't hindered by age or disease, but that doesn't prevent him from being put down. He is still human after all. If an opponent can withstand all of his attacks and spells for long enough, Strange will eventually tire and give out.

Boomstick: Yeah, Strange's whole thing is that he has to speak and use hand and arm movements to cast spells, if you can restrain him or render him unable to speak, you can pretty much neutralize him. Sure he does have his Astral form, but even if he leaves his physical body, he's still not safe.

Wiz: When separate from his physical body, it enters a catatonic state which is completely defenceless. While Strange would be able to re-enter his body in time to protect himself, it is one of the easiest ways to take him down. And of course, those who can attack beyond the physical plane can attack Doctor Strange even while in his astral form.

Boomstick: And something about science powers being good against him, but he's proven he can still best science-based opponents. But I wouldn't hold any of these against Strange, he's easily the best choice to phone in when you're sick, or have a universe in need of saving.

Doctor Strange: I’m Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme!

Sailor Moon[]

Boomstick: Our Solar System is pretty big, like really big. So you'd imagine that conquering it all would be pretty easy, but Sailor Soldiers are spread out across the whole system, all in the hope of protecting their home from planetary destruction. God, I hope those veteran benefits are good because protecting an entire planet sounds nuts. But somehow, one of the smallest in our Solar System is the most important of all, the Moon, which isn’t even a planet.

Wiz: It was home to the Moon Kingdom and its ruler, Queen Serenity. However, before the Princess could inherit her family's mantle, the Dark Kingdom waged war with them. Desperate to ensure her daughter's survival, Serenity sent her daughter and her closest allies into the future where they would be reborn. The Moon Kingdom had fallen, and the last hopes resided with the reincarnation of the Princess, just waiting to discover her true identity.

Boomstick: Who turned out to be this crybaby. I mean seriously, you'd think that as the reincarnation of a princess from an epic space kingdom, she'd have carried over the important qualities like how to not be stupid at everything. But I'll cut her some slack, she never runs from a real fight, she is the one named Sailor Moon.

Wiz: Well, Usagi Tsukino. She grew up unaware of her past life until she encountered Luna, also sent by Queen Serenity to be reborn. Thanks to her magical feline friend, Usagi discovered she was a Sailor Guardian and the reincarnation of the Moon Princess, and that she possessed considerable responsibility. And as you'd expect, Usagi did not adapt to her new heroic lifestyle very easily.

Popup: The only planet in the Solar System to not have a Sailor Guardian is Earth. Officially, Sailor Earth does not exist. However, Earth does have a Sailor Crystal, the Golden Crystal. It belongs to Mamoru Chiba and allows him to transform into Tuxedo Mask.

Boomstick: Yeah, she needed help a lot of the time. But she got better thanks to a couple of handy tools. While she has used a massive number of items to transform, most of them have been broken, so we're sticking to the most recent upgrades of her tools. Up first is the Crisis Moon Compact, while this particular tool lets her go Super, it was upgraded from the Cosmic Heart Compact, which let her access her standard Sailor Moon form.

Wiz: While not confirmed, it’s plausible she can use the Crisis Moon Compact to turn into either her standard or super forms. But if she needs an increase in power, she can harness the power of her Holy Moon Chalice to transform into Eternal Sailor Moon. One thing is constant across all of her forms, that being the myriad of attacks and techniques she can employ. With an astonishing variety of effects.

Boomstick: Perhaps her most iconic attack is the Moon Tiara Boomerang, aka, throwing her headwear at you! If you thought getting hit by women's accessories wasn't bad enough, its got the power to transmute its victim into moon dust! Damn, I've underestimated chick accessories for the last time! She can also use the Moon Twilight Flash to reflect light off and attack foes with literal moonlight, which can even hurt the intangible!

Wiz: Due to Usagi's crybaby nature at the beginning of the series, she is well known for it. However, she has since turned this into one of her abilities as Sailor Moon. Her Supersonic Screams are amplified through her hairpieces and can harm ghosts and other beings on the Astral Plane.

Popup: Sailor Moon also uses Moon Healing Escalation, which can achieve a variety of effects, from healing entire worlds to effectively bringing people back to life. Sailor Moon resurrected her Kingdom simply as a byproduct of the energy she was using, as it primarily uses positive energy.

Boomstick: Her moves don't stop there, she can also use Moon Spiral Heart Attack, a big vortex of magic energy, it can be a massive area of effect burst, and it can attack through illusions! So even if you try messing with her head, she can just get right past it. And these are just the moves that she uses as her standard Sailor Moon form, we've still got more.

Wiz: As Super Sailor Moon, she can use Rainbow Moon Heart Ache, a stronger version of Moon Spiral Heart Attack. It can destroy illusion dimensions created by others. And speaking of dimensions, her Moon Gorgeous Meditation launches waves of rainbow able to "shatter" a being's space-time, imprisoning them within a glass dimension.

Boomstick: All this is made possible thanks to the weapons she carries. Like her tools for transformation, Sailor Moon has used and lost a few, but we know she carries the Spiral Heart Moon Rod, the Moon Kaleido Scope and Eternal Tiare, the latter of which is her strongest weapon reserved for her strongest form, Eternal Sailor Moon.

Wiz: All beings in the universe have a Star Seed, their lifeforce in the form of a crystalline object, the Sailor Guardians, in particular, are powered by a Star Seed embodiment of their planet, a Sailor Crystal. Sailor Moon wields perhaps the strongest of them all, the Silver Crystal. Sailor Moon can apply its power in several ways.

Popup: The Silver Crystal is said to possess "infinite power" on numerous occasions. Multiple characters, primarily the villains who desire it, all share the sentiment that the Silver Crystal has the power to achieve their goals, including Sailor Chaos and her ambition to create an entirely new universe.

Boomstick: This is how Sailor Soldiers use their cool powers. Flight, magic, transforming, healing wounds, the works. But it can also launch energy blast and cast shields and barriers, and its power can be spread across the whole universe, so needless to say, you won't run out of batteries any time soon.

Wiz: Sailor Moon has matured into one of manga's greatest heroines, achieving many outstanding feats. Defeating many threats to the universe, Queen Metalia, Death Phantom and Queen Nehellenia. Defeating the latter is impressive, as Nehellenia's presence maintained a universe within her mirror. And she didn't need her most powerful form to counter Nehellenia's control over it.

Boomstick: And she's got a lot of power to fend off some pretty bizarre shit. Like when Pharaoh 90 stole the souls of everybody on Earth, but failed to steal Sailor Moon's thanks to her power, and she was far from her strongest forms. When she landed on the planet Nemesis, which would erase people from existence, Sailor Moon just said "Screw you Black Crystal!" and used her Silver Crystal to constantly push back a force that actively persisted in erasing her from existence.

Wiz: Many have tried to stop her, including Queen Metalia by trying to steal her powers. But the immense power of the Silver Crystal protected Sailor Moon and stopped Metalia. And we can't forget Sailor Moon once lit up the entire universe with a single attack. The light of this attack reached the edge of the universe in just four seconds, 360 quadrillion times the speed of light. And Sailor Moon herself is capable of speeds billions of times faster than light.

Popup: While the manga doesn't give an exact timeframe, the situation is critical. Chibi-Chibi sends a distress signal from the centre of the Milky Way galaxy, Sailor Moon and company get there the very next panel, suggesting it is almost instantaneous.

Boomstick: She covered a distance of 26,000 lightyears in a second! Jesus Christ, magical girls are awesome. But Sailor Moon is defined by her weaknesses. She's lazy, clumsy, a hopeless romantic, and so on. Turning into Sailor Moon didn't remove her flaws. While morally a good thing to be merciful, she's been fooled into letting her guard down just so a bad guy can get the jump on her.

Wiz: To be fair, this all happened in her teenage years, she wasn't gonna be an expert right away. She didn't like fighting much at all, but her role and responsibility slowly matured her to develop past these weaknesses. Even Sailor Galaxia, the cruelist Sailor Guardian in the galaxy was overwhelmed by the kind-hearted Sailor Moon. At the end of her journey, Usagi acquired the powers of Lambda to rid the universe of Chaos, the primordial entity of evil.

Boomstick: And the Lambda Power is crazy. She can move so fast that its practically immeasurable, and when she fell into the Galaxy Caudron, which erases a being and their Star Seed, the Lambda Power just allowed Sailor Moon to come back to life! And since the Lambda Power comes from the Galaxy Cauldron, where all Star Seeds come from, its possible she has access to all the powers of every Sailor Guaridan ever. She went from crybaby schoolgirl to vanquisher of all the evil in the universe, that's awesome!

Wiz: Those who judge this book by its cover are in for a big surprise. And with the universe finally achieving peace and prosperity, Usagi would go one to rule Crystal Tokyo in the 30th century as Neo-Queen Serenity, becoming the most beautiful star to shine throughout the universe, now and forever.

Sailor Moon: I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for Love and for Justice. I am Sailor Moon! And now in the name of the moon, I will punish you!

DEATH BATTLE![]

Strange Moon Set

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.

Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!

Brightness welcomed the new day as Tokyo once again revealed its beautiful lands and abundant nature. Across the islands, the bountiful elegance of the land of the rising sun took centre stage as the people went about their daily lives. As it is in Japan, the day was productive for all. Well, almost everyone. In Tokyo, the school day had come to a close and had inspired a burst of energy within a particular schoolgirl. The relief of school being finished for the day seemed to surpass every feeling of ecstasy in the world.

With the school day concluded, the students collectively parted ways. Some returned home by themselves while others went deeper into the city in groups, primarily for work or recreation. Among these groups of students were a trio of similarly dressed schoolgirls in the latter half of their teenage years. Standing as the middle height of the three was a young woman with short, dark blue hair reaching down to her neck, and blue eyes.

Conversely, the tallest was a slightly older young woman with long black hair and blue eyes, notable among the three for her slender body figure. The third, who stood in front of the three and also the shortest among them was a young woman with long blonde hair, which she tied on her head in the form of two spheres. The three appeared to be close friends, as they walked together practically everywhere in the city, and didn't leave each other's side.

Choosing to indulge a little this afternoon, the young women explored the city, looking at a variety of stores and locations. Ranging from stores with sweets, to gaming arcades, comic stores, etc. Although their polarizing interests did generate slight friction among the ladies, the outing also saw them explore outlets and retailers relating to books both new and ancient, sports stores, technology retailers, making sure that everyone got to go and see what places interested them.

"You know, I still don't know how to use a computer, Ami." one of the girls spoke, speaking to her tech-savvy friend, Ami Mizuno. Who removed her reading glasses, as she'd finished looking at book stores for the day. But the thought of her best friend being so easily overwhelmed by something she understood considerably compelled her to think about the things her friend has dealt with. "After all this time and the things you've done, I'm surprised the one that can defeat you is a computer" Ami added.

Flustered by the comment and its validity, the young woman was quick to retaliate, trying to defend herself. "It's not so simple, I can't just make a computer do what I want it to! They're so weird" she responded, declaring her difficulty with computers to be a legitimate hurdle she has yet to overcome. The taller of the three ladies joined in the conversation, seeing an opportunity to poke fun at her friend. "I suppose you would like to go back to learning from books and novels? I'm sure you'd appreciate those English classes if you carried books to school"

The girl's mutant friend, Rei Hino, uses another of her friend's dislikes to her advantage. "That's even worse! Anything but my English class!" Feeling teased on both sides Usagi Tsukino tried her best not to lose her cool, but she knew that it wasn't meant as jabs against her, just that it seemed incredibly bizarre how her accomplishments seem to pale in comparison to a simple problem made much bigger than it truly is.

"Don't worry Usagi, we're done with school today. And we've spent the entire afternoon completely unwinding from it all" Ami cheerfully commented, bringing some positivity back to the conversation and cheering up Usagi. "The sun is setting, and I feel it best we head back before it gets too dark, I'm sure Mamoru would appreciate seeing you" Rei added, again using knowledge to her advantage. "Yeah! Good idea, Rei! Let's go!" Usagi, now with a spring in her step, leads her friends out of the city and back to their homes in the rural areas of Tokyo. As the three knew their paths home would soon branch, they took the chance to be thankful for the afternoon, as the sun had finally set, and the darkness was rising. Street lights illuminated the way forward, but these girls were safe.

Or so they thought. Without warning, a golden light shone beneath Ami, and she felt the floor beneath her give way. Her sudden shout caught Rei and Usagi's attention. The former being right beside Ami reached out and grabbed her hand "I've got you, Ami! I won't let go!" Although she was slightly terrified, Ami had Rei's reassurance, which allowed her to face that fear more confidently. Usagi rushed over and joined in to help lift Ami out of the sudden hole in the ground.

Neither of the girls could understand what it was, but they knew it was some kind of magic being used against them. Moments before Ami had been lifted to safety, a second hole in the ground opened, this time appearing beneath Rei, who just like Ami, fell into it. Becoming increasingly concerned for the wellbeing of her friends, Usagi held onto Rei and Ami for dear life. But she couldn't lift both out, and unfortunately, she couldn't whisk them to safety.

Ami and Rei fell into the pitch-black void beneath them, embracing each other, uncertain of what may happen to them. Stunned by the sight she'd witnessed, Usagi nearly gave in her fear and panic, but she swallowed it and reached for her Crisis Moon Compact, and activated it. "Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!" Where her body seemed transparent as the magical powers of the Crisis Moon Compact manifested, dressing Usagi in a leotard with a blue sailor collar, a blue shirt, complimented by red high-heel boots. And finally, red hairpieces on her tied up hair and a tiara visible on her forehead.

This process had transformed Usagi Tsukino into Sailor Moon! With her transformation complete, Sailor Moon quickly inspected her surroundings, to see if the attacker was nearby. But after a few seconds of searching Sailor Moon was unable to find anything. And that only worried her more, her friends were in great danger and she had no idea what to do. She noticed the portals that her friends fell into disappear, and she reached out to them, only to feel the pavement of the ground, it was bizarre and only stockpiled her confusion.

She kept looking around, checking her corners to see if an enemy would attack her blindspot, but nothing ever came. Just then, she felt the floor give way beneath her and she fell into the portal. But her powers had already been activated and so she flew out of the portal and back to her current location. For a brief moment, Sailor Moon felt relief, flying into the skies to guarantee she would avoid the portal. As she flew, however, a second portal manifested in front of her and she was unable to steer away from it, she flew right into it.

As she appeared on the other side of the portal, it closed up behind her. She turned around in an attempt to seize freedom, but the portal had all but disappeared. With her nervousness at an all-time high, Sailor Moon took in her surroundings, seeing she was in some kind of massive storage room. The room contained several glass cabinets which contained numerous items and artifacts. Out of the corner of her eye, Sailor Moon noticed the sun flicker, it was sunrise!

She looked on in shock, thinking that perhaps she had been sent through time as she did so many times in the past. But her thoughts didn't have an answer to accompany them. She then slowly wandered the room, getting a glimpse of the numerous items stored. They all seemed fascinating, but Sailor Moon could not put her finger on what they were, or what kind of significance they possessed. As the sun rose more, the light shined through a window shaped in a circle with an interesting design to it.

As the Sailor Guardian continued to wonder, it wasn't long before she was greeted by something. "Sailor Moon..." a voice reached out. Immediately, she turned to where she heard the voice and saw a man standing in midair with a long red cloak waving softly around him. The light from the sunrise obscured her view of the man, seeing him purely as a silhouette. "Welcome, Sailor Guardian." Levitating, the man drifts towards Sailor Moon.

She backs up slightly as the man's silhouette disperses, revealing himself to be Doctor Strange. Sailor Moon is concerned but is surprised to learn what Doctor Strange knows. "How do you know about the Sailor Guardians?" Sailor Moon inquired with both genuine curiosity but also pouting in the hope of obtaining answers. Fortunately for her, Strange was able to prescribe. "In my many years of safeguarding the earth from potential threats, I have heard from others that the Sailor Guardians have protected Japan from many would-be threats."

Listening to the Doctor, Sailor Moon knows every word he spoke was true to what she'd experienced. "Yeah... that does sound like us..." Sailor Moon responded with a defeated voice. She seemed to go quiet, until something urgent rings in her mind. "But where are my friends!?" Sailor Moon exclaimed, reminding herself of her current goals. She began to panic, thinking a thousand thoughts a second, with Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum only making things worse, she was far away from her home in Tokyo.

"Do not be alarmed, Sailor Guardian, your friends are safe, but currently exist within a pocket dimension." Strange calmly informed Sailor Moon of the vital information she so desperately desired. Almost immediately, Sailor Moon composed herself, but in turn, traded her panic for more questions. "How do we get them out?" Sailor Moon inquired, knowing this would be the fastest way to get back to her friends.

"My magic would be more than capable of freeing them, but I cannot do that." Strange continued as he looked to see what kind of reaction Sailor Moon would have. "What? Why not?" Any optimism she had was shattered in hearing what Strange had to say, it almost brought panic back upon her, that is until Strange followed up. "I want to see the extent of a Sailor Guardian's power. So I put your friends in a separate dimension sealed by my magic" His curiosity drove him further, wanting to see more of her reactions.

As expected, Sailor Moon was angered almost immediately and turned her aggressive feelings on Doctor Strange. "How dare you snatch my friends away from me!" It was crystal clear to Doctor Strange this was not what Sailor Moon was hoping for, but it was plain and simple in his mind, he just needed to break it to Sailor Moon. "Those who dedicate their lives to protect others do not face challenges when they agree to it, I want you to prove they can rise to any threat. Because one day you may find yourself unable to stop them".

Although the anger still seethed through her being, Sailor Moon couldn't disprove his argument, but to give Sailor Moon further reassurance, Doctor Strange continued. "I ask only that you fight, no harm shall come to your friends, and they will be freed completely unharmed."

While she did not disagree she needed to ensure she did not falter, Sailor Moon still channelled those feelings, just more controlled. "If you want me to fight, I'll fight!". Content with Sailor Moon's answer, Strange readied himself. "Don't hold back, show me what makes a Sailor Guardian, Sailor Moon!" Sufficiently motivated to fight, Sailor Moon elegantly entered her iconic pose, hand gestures, catchphrase and all. "I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for love and justice! I am Sailor Moon, and now in the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!"

FIGHT!

(Cue Arriving at Millford Haven - Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses)

Strange lights his hands with miniature spells to prepare himself for an attack. Sailor Moon takes the opportunity to move back. She reaches to her head and grabs her tiara. "Moon Tiara Boomerang!" Sailor Moon shouted as she tossed her tiara toward Doctor Strange, who was initially unsure of what she was up to. The tiara flung toward Strange quickly transformed, taking on the form of a disc of energy, it rapidly rotated as it approached Doctor Strange. Immediately, Strange knew he could counter the technique.

"Seven Rings of Raggadorr!" Doctor Strange shouted as he motioned his arms, casting seven blue energy rings, his quick casting allowed the rings to gather around him and shield him from the Moon Tiara Boomerang. With the attack unsuccessful the Tiara manifested back on Sailor Moon's head. With his defence a great success, Strange dispersed the Seven Rings of Raggadorr. Strange then sought to test Sailor Moon with an attack of his own. A series of hand gestures and movements and a circle is cast beneath Sailor Moon.

The light of the circle at her feet catches Sailor Moon's attention and she immediately makes a jump to the side. But not before Strange's quick thinking mind allows him to verbally declare his attack. "Flames of the Faltine! Burn them to cinders!" With Strange's command, the circle erupted with flames launched where Sailor Moon was just moments prior. Sailor Moon did feel the intense heat beside her, and it reminded her of Rei's fire attacks, putting her back on track of her goal.

She had a fire burning inside her that she was determined to see burn brightly, but she had to resume fighting, she had done little so far, and she couldn't mess around. She reached out with her hand and manifested the Spiral Heart Moon Rod, with it, she prepared another attack. "Moon Princess Halation!" Yellow light shined off the tip of the Rod as Sailor Moon grabbed it and spun in place before aiming the Rod toward Doctor Strange.

But again, Strange more than anticipated the attack, and used his verbal command and hand gestures to conjure a spell he had already used prior "Seven Rings of Raggadorr!". This time, the rings didn't circle Strange, and instead honed in on Sailor Moon. Watching the projectiles headed her way, Sailor Moon rushed across the Sanctum Sanctorum to avoid them. But Strange's antics got the better of Sailor Moon,

With a wave of his hand, Strange opened a portal in front of Sailor Moon, which immediately sent her right back where she started and found herself trapped by the Seven Rings of Raggadorr, she dropped her Spiral Heart Moon Rod and found herself at Strange's mercy. Seeing that he'd found himself in a favourable position, Strange levitated toward Sailor Moon before seemingly vanishing into nothingness. From the darkness, words were uttered: "By the Images of Ikonn!"

Initially, Sailor Moon couldn't make sense of what was happening, suddenly the Seven Rings of Raggadorr dispersed and Sailor Moon landed on the ground and quickly picked up the Spiral Heart Moon Rod and held onto it carefully. Just then, Strange appeared from the shadows, and Sailor Moon acted quickly, again casting Moon Princess Halation in Strange's direction, but then Strange appeared a second time, now there were two of them! This only stirred the confusion in Sailor Moon's mind. Thereafter a third Doctor Strange appeared. The three of them acted in unison, all of which raised their hands and prepared the incantation process for a powerful spell.

Looking at her Spiral Heart Moon Rod, Sailor Moon's thoughts turned to the future she knew awaited her, the time of Neo-Queen Serenity, thoughts of her rested in her mind as Sailor Moon firmly gripped the Spiral Heart Moon Rod, knowing what she had to do. "Neo-Queen Serenity, lend your power to my Heart Moon Rod!" Sailor Moon quickly spins in place rapidly and holds the Spiral Heart Moon Rod into the air. "Bolts of Balthakk!" all three Stranges uttered at once.

Upon her command, the attack, which took the form of a giant pink love heart, spread across the entire Sanctum whilst the trio of Strange's launched their attacks at Sailor Moon. But Sailor Moon's attack triumphs and it shatters two of the three Doctor Strange's present. They were simply an illusion. The third of them, the genuine Doctor Strange was knocked back a few feet and onto a wall. Although he was momentarily dazed, it didn't take him long to recover. He rose to his feet, ready to resume.

Though when he next laid eyes upon Sailor Moon, she was already standing and did so with a look of unflinching determination on her face. "Your power may be great, but I will not hide behind cheap tricks and warped plots!" Sailor Moon uttered with a conviction that Doctor Strange had not seen before. This made the Doctor content, he was beginning to see what a Sailor Guardian was truly like, this is what he had been waiting for. The Cloak of Levitation moved, blowing away the dust that had been created in the heat of battle, with it, Strange had a crystal clear picture of Sailor Moon.

"I am a Sailor Guardian, and I will always fight for the good and innocent of this world!" The words of Sailor Moon were inspiring. Doctor Strange was convinced of her position. The moon emblem on Sailor Moon's tiara began to glow a bright light. Suddenly Strange witnessed a spirit appear behind Sailor Moon. It was an older woman who looked almost identical to Sailor Moon, except with long flowing white hair with the same curvature as Sailor Moon's blonde hair who wore a white dress.

The facial expression of this woman was a perfect reflection of Sailor Moon's expression. This sight was unexpected, but it was sending a clear message to Doctor Strange. Just as he drew power from the Vishanti, it seemed to him that Sailor Moon found her power in others too. Seeing he was in opposition to someone just like him, Strange took the situation seriously. He flew toward Sailor Moon at blinding speed, which Sailor Moon just couldn't comprehend.

But before Strange even made a move, he suddenly disappeared. Sailor Moon almost shrieked, until she realized she was alone and inspected her surroundings. From behind the Sailor Guardian, Strange reappeared, and he came up with an uppercut punch, which knocked Sailor Moon through the roof of the Sanctum Sanctorum and sent her into the skies of New York's cityscape, much to the Sailor Guardian's confusion.

Following his adversary, Strange flew through the hole in the ceiling Sailor Moon had left behind and stood level with her in the air, the Cloak of Levitation helping him stay airborne. Both noticed the other was capable of flight, which wasn't a surprise. Doctor Strange took the opportunity to cast another of his spells. "Daggers of Denak!" Which cast a trio of yellow energy rings, and he gestured his arm to launch them toward Sailor Moon. She moved quickly, flying across the skies to avoid the attack. Sailor Moon quickly hatched a plan, she flew toward Doctor Strange directly.

Thinking that she must be trying to turn his attack back upon him, Strange simply gestured his arms and removed them entirely. But at that moment, Sailor Moon swiftly approached the Doctor and performed a swift kick, aiming right for the Doctor's head. But the Doctor's refined martial arts skill allowed him to easily block the kick with his hand. Stunned that her move was denied, Sailor Moon looked a little embarrassed, hoping that the Doctor would be merciful. Unfortunately, Strange made use of his close-range skills.

With a strike to Sailor Moon's torso, Strange fended her off. But quickly followed up with a sweeping kick that knocked Sailor Moon off her feet and almost sent her toward the ground. Sailor Moon thought she might've been safe, but that wasn't meant to be. Strange delivered a downward strike on her back, which launched Sailor Moon further toward the ground, the buildings of New York nearly broke her fall, but she was able to recover in the nick of time.

"There's no point fighting up close!" Sailor Moon thought to herself, lamenting how easily she was countered at hand-to-hand combat. She knew that it was ranged attacks or nothing. She took advantage of the small window of opportunity afforded to her to manifest some of her additional equipment. She manifested and equipped the Spiral Heart Moon Rod, she then flew back up to where she last saw Doctor Strange, who had already begun casting a spell.

But Sailor Moon refused to back down, flying directly toward the Doctor. Seeing there was a chance he could win this engagement in a single move, the Doctor flew toward Sailor Moon casting his spell. And with it, Doctor Strange and Sailor Moon seemed to vanish altogether. When both gained a sense of where they were, they found themselves in a different dimension entirely. Inspecting their surroundings, the two found themselves floating in front of a massive castle surrounded by molten lava which occasionally spewed out.

The locale was foreign to both of them, but the dimensional shift did not worry either. Strange got inspired by the scenery around him and conjured a familiar spell, knowing he could increase its potency. "Flames of the Faltine!" the Doctor shouted as he launched a massive stream of fire toward Sailor Moon. The flames were fast, but the Silver Crystal recognized Sailor Moon was in danger, and acted on its own, casting a magical barrier, that appeared as icicle crystals.

They shielded Sailor Moon as the Flames of the Faltine simply parted and instead went around the barriers. The flames were powerful, and they didn't seem to have any indicator they would extinguish. But the Silver Crystal persisted without fail, ensuring the safety of the one who bore it. Just then she looked to the sky above her and noticed it was night time, and almost immediately she noticed the shining light of the Moon.

It brought her comfort and she knew precisely what to do. Recalling she still had the tiara on her head. She knew exactly what attack to use. She raised her right hand and rested her thumb and her index finger around the crystal at the tiara's centre, she waited until the flames allowed the moon to shine down upon her. After a few seconds, the moon found its chance, and Sailor Moon quickly harnessed it, conjuring a massive energy blast of moonlight.

With it launched from her tiara, the beam-like blast, as it is composed of moonlight, bypassed the Flames of Faltine and struck the Doctor directly. Feeling the intense power of the blast, Strange was launched higher into the atmosphere. He was admittedly caught off guard by such a strong blast. But he quickly conjured his magics to protect him. He teleported away from the beam's trajectory and quickly cast a portal which the beam travelled directly into.

Strange then cast a second portal, which had completely turned the beam back around, headed straight for Sailor Moon. She noticed the beam headed right back to her, and avoiding it would only put the lives of those in the city below in danger, the head of the moment had made her forget that she wasn't in New York and instead in the domain of a castle surrounded by lava. She held the Spiral Heart Moon Rod in front of her, aiming it at her attack.

(Cue The Core - Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity)

"Moon Princess Halation!" with her command, several blasts of moonlight spread across the sky. In particular, Sailor Moon focuses it on her reflected projectile. The moonlight attacks collide, and as a result, they are overall weaker. Safe enough that the moonlight passed her by and it gave her relief to know that the people below her wouldn't be harmed. That is until she looked and remembered the massive castle beneath her. "Oh right...".

But she couldn't touch on her oversight, as Strange was casting another spell. "By the Icy Tendrils of Ikthalon!" Without warning, a massive block of ice manifested, encasing Sailor Moon within. The atmosphere was still adherent to gravity, so the frozen Sailor Moon suddenly began to plummet back down to Earth. Seeing the difficult situation she was in, Sailor Moon tried to think of a way to free herself, but her options were rather limited, but suddenly, the Silver Crystal radiated a bright light and manifested the same protective barriers.

The block of ice crumbled under the Silver Crystal's power, which allowed Sailor Moon to escape from what little ice remained on her body. The barrier soon dispersed and Sailor Moon flew back up to the Doctor, who was waiting for her. "This is some test! You didn't say anything about freezing me!" Sailor Moon shouted whilst still shivering from the ice she had been wedged into. "Were it only that easy we could choose what our enemies attacked us with" Strange responded as he conjured small spells on his hands.

"Let's see what I can learn from you" Doctor Strange uttered as he performed a series of hand gestures before he outstretched his arm. The Eye of Agamotto illuminated a bright light as Sailor Moon soon felt an unusual feeling in her head. Pressing her hands on her head, Strange noted that she'd become aware of his mind-reading. But Strange just then noticed that his attempts were not succeeding as smoothly as he'd hoped. He looked down to see that the Eye of Agamotto was indeed activated.

Resisting the telepathic might of Sorcerer Supreme was difficult, but Sailor Moon's mind was well fortified. In a matter of seconds, Strange could only conclude that his telepathic abilities were unreliable, otherwise, he would have already succeeded. "I cannot get through to her mind... Interesting" the Doctor mentally made a note in his head. "I also didn't ask for a headache!" Sailor Moon irritably shouted.

It had become even more apparent that his attempts at reading her mind were a failure, so Strange looked past it and thought of a different way he could attack Sailor Moon. However, the tempered Sailor Moon had already decided to make a move, "Moon Twilight Flash!". Very quickly a massive beam of energy launched toward Strange, it was the same as the one she had cast earlier. At that moment he realized something, something crucial to giving him an upper hand.

Sailor Moon appeared to audibly call upon her attacks to perform them. If he could restrict her ability to speak, it would surely become easier for him to subdue his opponent. But first Strange had to deal with the projectile beam headed his way. He performed a series of arm and hand gestures before he reached out with his right arm, and a magical barrier appeared in front of the Doctor. As though it behaved like suction, Strange nullified the energy blast completely, shutting down Sailor Moon's attack altogether.

Stunned by what had transpired, Sailor Moon was shocked for a brief moment. Influenced by her emotion, she charged toward the Doctor in hopes of striking him directly. The Doctor watched as the Sailor Guardian approached him. It seemed all but clear to him what he should do. Performing another elaborate series of gestures, Strange mysterious disappeared, leaving only the thin air for Sailor Moon to kick. The ensuing absence of the Doctor made Sailor Moon conduct herself more defensively.

Looking around, she couldn't see any illusions or anything that appeared out of the ordinary to her. Thereafter, something caught her attention, and she was about to move when suddenly Strange appeared from behind her, "By the Sapphire Bands of Storaan!" Strange's voice declared. Immediately Sailor Moon flew away from Strange, but the Doctor had more than anticipated she would retreat, and carefully manipulated his spell to strike when Sailor Moon thought she was most safe.

The blue ribbons of mystical energy ensnared Sailor Moon, binding her without fail. Strange knew that the spell was not particularly powerful, but he was determined to test this one to see if Sailor Guardians possessed enough power to free themselves from its clutches. Sailor Moon seemed to struggle, she couldn't summon her weapons to her hand, and her tiara couldn't focus itself to reflect moonlight, ironically because of Sailor Moon's constantly flailing.

Waiting to see what would happen, Strange decided to allow Sailor Moon's escape, if she was capable of achieving it. After a while, Sailor Moon stopped exerting her energy into trying to break out. And instead, she calmed down. She feels the Silver Crystal resonate within her, although she did not feel threatened in the present situation, she knew that her friends needed saving and that being trapped here would not help them at all.

As the silver light of the crystal took on a stronger radiance, the sudden burst of power allowed Sailor Moon to break free from the Sapphire Bands of Storaan, which had impressed the Doctor and was a second assurance that Sailor Guardians were indeed beginning to live up to the legends that had been described them. She manifested her Spiral Heart Moon Rod and pointed it at Strange. "I don't plan on backing down, not while I have people who I wish to protect, and others who would protect me with their lives!"

Seeing that her conviction was unshakable, even by some of his magic, Doctor Strange was becoming more and more confident that the Sailor Guardians had shown a prime example of how determined and unflinching one of their kind can be. "Very well, Sailor Guardian. You've managed to remain calm and not let emotion completely overwhelm you despite considerable odds placed against you. That's something that only comes with experience" Strange treated his opponent with all due respect.

Conjuring miniature spells onto his hands, Strange was ready for what more she could display. With another elaborate series of hand gestures, the clouds began to form around them, creating an overcast environment above them. The sound of thunder and lightning could be heard throughout, and the flashes of light scared Sailor Moon very slightly, making her a little jittery. With no hesitation, Strange conjured magic with his hand movements, deciding to apply it unconventionally. "By the Bolts of Balthakk!".

Strange's magic launched upward and into the clouds above them. It disappeared thereafter, as the clouds were too overcast to see beyond them. But then without warning massive bolts of thunder starting striking, even from above the clouds it seemed. Compelled to move forward, Sailor Moon flew through the dangerous fields of thunder. Some of the lightning bolts reached far enough down to strike the lava.

Within moments, the lava's behaviour seems to flare a bit more intensely, all the while Sailor Moon manoeuvres herself through the chaotic battlefield that had been constructed for her. The fire and thunder reminding her of the attacks performed by her friends, and how they used primarily offensive elements, while she didn't focus her abilities around offence. The image of her friends persisted in Sailor Moon's mind, motivating her further.

After a few more seconds of flight, Sailor Moon used her powers to conjure the Holy Grail itself. Holding it toward the sky above her, Sailor Moon shouted "Moon Crisis, Make Up!", as a sudden burst of light enveloped Sailor Moon. Her attire took on a new form, most notably her skirt and collar had a blue, yellow and white blend to it, and her outfit looked more regal and elegant than before. She had transformed into Super Sailor Moon.

Immediately, Strange felt a massive boost in power, thousands of times greater than what he had felt up until now. The energy released by the transformation caused the clouds themselves to part, completely breaking apart the thunderstorms Strange had put together. As the blinding light faded, Super Sailor Moon became more visible, Strange glanced over to her, seeing her immaculate appearance, and sensing that her power now reached even greater heights.

With his storm dispelled, Strange figured that there was likely going to have to be a change of plans. If the weather itself could be stopped just by the transformation alone, then the extent of power might be something beyond this world. These thoughts ran through Strange's mind as he concocted a new plan, determined to see if she would be able to handle his more powerful spells. But Super Sailor Moon wasted no time in preparing an attack.

"Rainbow Moon Heartache!" Super Sailor Moon declared as she spun rapidly in place until she struck a pose and launched an attack which greatly resembled the Moon Spiral Heart Attack, only that it bore greater power, and seemed to get Strange to act defensively. He teleported himself out of the attack's away and using his brief moment of disappearance to reappear behind Super Sailor Moon. Channelling magic into his strike, Doctor Strange's attack again warped himself and Super Sailor Moon to a different part of the universe entirely.

When both the Doctor and the Sailor Guardian came to, they realized their change of scenery. It was the vastness of outer space, distance stars illuminated everything, there was no sky to gaze up upon, only the incredible sight which laid out in front of them. Knowing where his magic could've taken him, Strange manipulated reality around him to ensure his ability to maintain himself in space. He waited to see if Super Sailor Moon would succumb to a lack of oxygen.

But as the seconds passed, Super Sailor Moon was only startled by the change of scenery, and that's it. Strange was impressed to learn of her ability to sustain herself without the need for oxygen. And so he acted on this knowledge, believing it would take something potent to truly bring her down. Just then, the Eye of Agamotto informed its host of a truth. It saw the power of Sailor Moon stemmed from power within, her Silver Crystal.

It would need a technique of great power, something which went for the soul directly. Strange didn't have many options, and his best chance was to attempt it unopposed. He thought carefully about how to play the scenario right into his hands. And soon he hatched a plan. Strange flew toward Super Sailor Moon where he attempted to attack, trying to again attack with a Rainbow Moon Heartache, which Strange avoided without much trouble, but as he passed by her, the Cloak of Levitation detached from Strange's person.

When Strange finished his evasion and came to a stop, Super Sailor Moon turned to face him. "I can see you're powerful, but I've got you figured out now" Strange commented on his opponent's abilities, hoping to distract her. Without warning, the Cloak of Levitation flew onto Super Sailor Moon, wrapping itself around her face. Immediately, Super Sailor Moon began wrestling with the cloak, desperate to earn her freedom.

Conjuring some magic, Strange's magic launched as a narrow but precise beam which aimed directly for Super Sailor Moon's chest. The beam hit and Super Sailor Moon felt that technique impact her more severely than any attack she'd experience prior. Feeling as though her life and the Silver Crystal was in danger. But just as expected, the Silver Crystal reacted, sensing that Super Sailor Moon felt threatened and that her life was in danger.

Its power illuminated and an instant later, the Sailor Guardian's body was shrouded by the Silver Crystal to protect her, and it encased her completely. It severed the spell Strange had cast, preventing him from manipulating or outright removing her soul and the Silver Crystal. Additionally, the Cloak of Levitation had been frozen in place, unable to free itself from the Silver Crystal's protection. It was only able to narrowly remove itself from Super Sailor Moon's face, restoring her clarity.

Although she was encased by the Silver Crystal's impressive power, it again radiated a powerful moonlight before Super Sailor Moon was freed. She reached high to the sky above, bringing forth the Holy Moon Chalice, and with a shout of positive, she uttered a phrase, "Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up!" Immediately, Strange recalled his Cloak of Levitation back to him, to avoid falling through the emptiness of space. But he refused to let Super Sailor Moon transform even further.

(Cue Lord of a Dead Empire - Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia)

He waved his arms and cast one of his spells "By the Chains of Krakkan!" he uttered, launching a series of chains directly toward Super Sailor Moon. While the chains did reach their target, they were repelled by another sudden burst of power. The output of the transformation was even greater than her previous, and Strange raised his arm over his eyes, shielding him from the impressive light that had been shone in his direction. As the intense light persisted, Super Sailor Moon underwent another change in attire.

She sprung white wings, her skirt became multilayered with a unique color on each, and long pink ribbons ran down the sides of her skirt. She had transformed into Eternal Sailor Moon. Immediately, Eternal Sailor Moon flew toward Doctor Strange, who readied himself. The Silver Crystal emanated a powerful light as Eternal Sailor Moon made her intentions known. "Begone from this world, and never return!" with her command, the Silver Crystal's light captured Strange. He was blinded by the intense light and moments later saw it suddenly vanish.

Looking around, Strange soon put two and two together and realized he'd been sealed inside a dimension. "Interesting." he thought to himself. He manifested a spell which surrounded his entire body and after a few seconds of concentrating, Strange teleported back to where he'd come from. His appearance heralded Eternal Sailor Moon's attention. "Your power truly does come from the heights reserved only for the most powerful" Strange declared.

"What?! That's impossible!" Eternal Sailor Moon stated, stunned by what'd happened and how easily it was overcome. Strange took the conversation further. "My dear, I think you'll find anything is possible. I am Doctor Stephen Strange, and with the wave of my hand, I can bend reality to my every whim." Seeking to prove his claim, Strange took a deep breath as he mentally prepared himself for something big. "Observe"

Refusing to hold back anymore, Strange began reciting an incantation, that was inaudible to Eternal Sailor Moon's ears. She couldn't make out what he was saying, but she knew it was bad news. She prepared an attack of her own, but just before she cast it, she felt something unnatural which coursed through her entire being. And a piercing light caught the corner of her eye. She turned to see the detonation of a massive star.

Triggering its transformation into a Supernova. It soon began to spread further and further across space. Eternal Sailor Moon was almost angered by that move and sought to strike Strange. But the Doctor had already made his next move, having performed the gestures whilst she was distracted. With the completion of his gestures, Strange bent time itself to his whim. But he did freeze time. Instead, he forced time to accelerate at an alarming rate. Under normal circumstances, a supernova takes a while to spread across solar systems.

But with the immense power at his command, Strange sped up time and when he believed it had met his conditions, Strange allowed time to resume like normal. Both Doctor Strange and Eternal Sailor Moon gazed at the approaching supernova about to hit them both. Knowing the dangers that came with triggering a Supernova, Strange called upon one of his reliable defensive spells. "By the Shields of the Seraphim!" his incantation took effect and a protective barrier surrounded Doctor Strange and protected him.

With her now tapping directly into the Silver Crystal's power, Eternal Sailor Moon knew what she needed to do. She turned and tapped into her latent speeds, flying away from the supernova's expanding radius, escaping its reach with relative ease. Doctor Strange watched as Eternal Sailor Moon flew away that speeds that were certainly quite impressive. But not fast enough to escape him. "You were not pardoned." Doctor Strange thought to himself.

Knowing it was best for his body to remain safe, Strange willed his Astral form out of his physical body. Strange's Astral form proceeded to fly throughout the cosmos at speeds even faster than Eternal Sailor Moon, effortlessly flying out of the Supernova he was in the middle of and catching up to Eternal Sailor Moon, using his invisibility to keep her unaware of his presence. "I unleash the secret magic!" Revealing his Astral form to the Sailor Guardian, Strange used the shock of the moment to enact one of his spells. "By the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak!"

As Strange's Astral form circled Eternal Sailor Moon, she was bound in magical binds which restrained her movement, arms and hands especially. She tried to budge free but found her power simply couldn't break her out of this. Having seen his attack through, Strange's Astral form quickly moved thousands of light-years back to where he can form. Reforming with his physical body, Doctor Strange concentrates his magic and teleports himself to Eternal Sailor Moon while dispersing his barrier.

Now appearing in front of Eternal Sailor Moon, Doctor Strange called upon more of his power. Triggering it caused a glyph of bright yellow to appear his feet. It was that of the insignia of the Sanctum Sanctorum's window. With his hands glowing an ethereal yellow, Strange conjured another spell, raising many orbs with a yellow glow to them. "I am Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme!" With his opponent still bound by his previous still, Strange was able to complete his attack without interruption.

He had raised his hand to bring the orbs up to Eternal Sailor Moon. As he turned his back to her, he dropped his hand, and the orbs all collided with each other. Their collision triggered a powerful pillar of yellow energy, which encased Eternal Sailor Moon completely. Feeling the intense power he'd just unleashed and the recent chain of events that had required considerable magic, Strange could feel his body was beginning to tire, his arms in particular from numerous spells and incantations he utilized.

He stood triumphant for a moment until he noticed one of his spells was still active. He turned to see the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak were still in force, and that meant only one thing. Eternal Sailor Moon was still alive. He turned to see a damaged Eternal Sailor Moon lay at the mercy of his spell, she looked faint. As if she was tethered by just one string. Eternal Sailor Moon felt her power had taken a massive blow, and although her Silver Crystal was hard at work to heal her, she needed more.

Her thoughts turned to her friends again, remembering everything she'd done to save their lives, and what she wouldn't do to save them. She thought about everything she could lose so that she could save everything. Every person she ever treasured as a friend, as family, that's all she needed. Closing her eyes and focusing deeply, Eternal Sailor Moon was suddenly engulfed in a pure white light which encompassed everything nearby, Strange shielded him with the Shields of the Seraphim.

As he watched, he witnessed Eternal Sailor Moon transform. Her wings took on larger and more pronounced appearance, ephemeral, dazzling light coated everything around her. She no longer wore the attire of a Sailor Guardian, instead, she wore a semi-transparent dress. Usagi had called upon and harnessed the Power of Lambda. Immediately, this sight was astounding for Doctor Strange to witness, the words simply escaping his mouth due to the awe he felt. "By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth!".

Without needing an instant to think about it, Doctor Strange prepared one of his spells, "By the Images of Ikkon!" With it, Strange quickly duplicated himself into hundreds, potentially thousands of perfect replicas. Using the freedom of space around him, Strange covered every possible avenue of escape, effectively containing Lambda Usagi where she is.

Seeing the forces that surrounded her, Lambda Usagi did not act of fear or panic. Instead, she was calm and collected. She prepared an attack, and all of the Stranges moved at once in an attempt to stop her. But her attack was cast before they could reach her, and a massive blast of moonlight hit every single duplicate of Strange, causing them to disperse.

Back to an army of one, Strange prepared another spell "Grant me the powers of the Ageless Vishanti!" Doctor Strange uttered as the magic on the glyph flared intensely. He flew toward Lambda Usagi and cast a powerful spell "By the Seven Suns of Cinnibus!", which launched a massive energy blast, crimson red in colour, directly toward Lambda Usagi. But with incomprehensible speed, Lambda Usagi outpaced the spell itself and appeared behind Doctor Strange, where she waved her hand.

"Silver Moon Crystal Power Therapy Kiss!" she declared, creating an all-encompassing blast of light and energy, it struck Strange and although he managed to fight back against the blast with his magic, the strain on his body was beginning to tire him. He knew there was a way to stop her, but his physical body couldn't guarantee it. By the will of his thoughts, Doctor Strange ejected his Astral form out of his body and used his breathtaking physics-defying speed to approach Lambda Usagi.

Moments before he unleashed an attack, Strange used his power to once again bend time to his will, stopping it entirely. He could see Lambda Usagi standing there idly, and Strange took the benefit of his Astral form and prepared to strike. Just then, Usagi started moving, which shocked Strange. The time stop did not hinder her at all, and she carried out with her attack, unleashing a massive blast of energy toward Strange's Astral Form.

The attack struck Strange's astral form, and he relented to its might. Seeing that Strange was most vulnerable now, Lambda Usagi intensified her energy blast. Fearing for his life, Strange knew he had to act quickly, he flew closer and closer to Lambda Usagi, determined to nullify the blast, but before Strange could reach her, Lambda Usagi instantaneously appeared in front of him.

She launched a second blast at point-blank range, releasing the energy without holding any of it back. Seeing the fault in his actions, Strange's agony was his only companion as his astral existence withered away until nothing remained of the Doctor. His body laid restless in the universe. Lambda Usagi took hold of Strange's lifeless body, preventing the demise of his physical form.

K.O.!

Sometime later, Lambda Usagi used the powers she possessed to restore the universe to what it was. She even revived Doctor Strange's spirit and allowed him to reunite with his physical body. Strange had fully realized the extent of a Sailor Guardians power. As promised, he returned to the Sanctum Sanctorum with Lambda Usagi. There he broke the dimensional seal which housed Ami and Rei, a portal appeared from thin air, dropping the two back into the real world.

Immediately, the two were confused as to what was going on, but Usagi simply comforted her friends with a hug, the two returned the favour as Doctor Strange gave them their personal space. After recounting these events to the two, Doctor Strange delivered Usagi, Ami and Rei back to Tokyo, Japan. Before the portal closed, Doctor Strange wished the best for the Sailor Guardians in the future and hoped that their future heroic endeavours would be successful.

Thereafter, he returned to the book which first described the Sailor Guardians, a Japanese comic slipped off of his bookshelf, but Strange caught it before it reached the ground. He placed the comic back on the bookshelf alongside the book on Sailor Guardians, content to know Earth will never be without a protector.

Conclusion[]

(Cue Moon Pride (Instrumental) - Momoiro Clover Z)

Boomstick: Damn, I don't think we've a battle that massive in scale before.

Wiz: Doctor Strange and Sailor Moon were both impressively powerful. Though Strange did hold a power advantage thanks to being in the same league as many powerful beings in the universe like Mephisto. Sailor Moon does have universe level feats, but Strange's peak was beyond just a single universe. And he had much more versatility when it comes to his spells, artifacts and incantations, and even his sentient cloak, not to mention his greater levels of experience.

Boomstick: But although his power was bigger, that didn't make it better. Sailor Moon had the odds stacked against her, but had what it takes to turn the fight into her favor. Thanks in no small part to the Silver Crystal and the numerous things it has protected Sailor Moon against. Strange couldn't steal her powers, erase her from existence or snatch her soul because the Silver Crystal gave her constant protection against those.

Popup: Its unlikely Strange's time or space manipulation would give him an advantage, as the Silver Crystal is said to transcend time, and Sailor Moon has constantly battled those who warp spacetime, namely those using the Black Crystal and Dark Crystal, equivalents to the Silver Crystal.

Wiz: It also helps that the Silver Crystal has unlimited energy, Sailor Moon can't run out of it, which gives her a massive advantage against Strange, who, despite his immense power, still has to deal with the fact his body cannot handle the strain of his magic forever. Strange did have his Astral form to back him up, but Sailor Moon had many options for attacking spirits, ghosts and other non-physical beings like Strange's Astral form.

Boomstick: Both of them relied on audible commands to perform the majority of their attacks, so it wasn't easy for either of them to get any surprise attacks in on the other. Despite the fact both get their power from something else, Sailor Moon's was fundamentally safer because it was apart of her being, the Silver Crystal is her Star Seed after all.

Wiz: Even if the Vishanti and Strange's other entities had unlimited power, it would be impossible for Strange's body to handle that much power putting a strain on his body. While Strange's many artifacts could certainly inform him of what to do against Sailor Moon, the Silver Crystal protects Sailor Moon in any event she feels threatened or is otherwise on death's door.

Popup: As shown during the events of Herald Supreme, Doctor Strange is still susceptible to making brash decisions and only realizing his mistakes when there is no going back. Sailor Moon may have been susceptible to letting her guard down against her enemies, but the Silver Crystal's automated defenses ensured her protection.

Boomstick: And given Strange's initial power advantage, she'd certainly feel threatened. That is until she accessed her Lambda Power and used its incomprehensible speed, greater power, and unstoppable regeneration to guarantee her victory. While Strange could certainly fight Sailor Moon at her peak, he just doesn't have what it takes to outlast the Silver Crystal to get the win.

Wiz: Doctor Strange was powerful, versatile and impressive, but Sailor Moon's numerous resistances, unlimited energy Silver Crystal, absurd regeneration and specific counters allowed her to survive long enough against the Master of the Mystic Arts to use her vast magical power to defeat the Sorcerer Supreme.

Boomstick: You might say Sailor Moon thought this was a Strange Tale, one for the books, that's for sure.

Winner - Sailor Moon (Shad)

Wiz: The winner is Sailor Moon.

Original Track[]

An Original Track for this fight would be titled "Cosmic Appointment".

The track's title refers to the themes of Sailor Moon's character being inspired from cosmic elements, namely the Moon and the practices associated with Doctor Strange's former occupation. The title refers to both combatants taking on a role (Sorcerer Supreme and Sailor Guardian) that requires them to safeguard Earth from threats beyond Earth.

Trivia[]

  • The connections between Doctor Strange and Sailor Moon are that they are masters of magic that started as unlikely heroes (Doctor Strange as an egotistical, arrogant neurosurgeon and Sailor Moon as a cowardly, clumsy schoolgirl). During an encounter with a magically powerful mentor (The Ancient One and Luna), they are taught how to use magic, improving both their power and maturing their personality to take on a genuine heroic role. They wield artifacts and objects that further enhance their magical potential. Both are well known for their attacks being verbal (Doctor Strange's incantations and Sailor Moon's commands). They both use a profession in their heroic titles.
