Ditto vs Metamormon (New)

Ditto vs Metamormon is a What-If? Death Battle by Vrokorta. It pits Ditto from Pokémon against Metamormon from Digimon.

Description[]

Battle of the transforming monsters! Which one will steal the other's form, for good?

Interlude[]

(Death Battle Theme)

Wiz: Monsters. They come in all shapes & sizes.

Boomstick: But what if that monster literally came in literally every shape & size?

Sphere Robot: Ditto, the transform Pokémon.

Vrokorta: And Metamormon, the metamorphosis Digimon.

Wiz: Together, the four of us will analyze their weapons, ar-

Vrokorta: I'm gonna stop you right there. Enough of this "weapons & armor", most of my combatants don't even have that stuff.

Wiz: Okay then mister "let's break the mold", what do think we should say?

Vrokorta: Ahem. Together, the four of us will analyze their feats, arsenal & skills to find out who would win, a Death Battle. Y'see, all combatants have feats & an arsenal, so I find this more fitting.

Wiz: Okay fair enough. Now let's get on with the analyses.

Ditto[]

Boomstick: The world of Pokémon has many creatures to see. A cute yellow mouse, a cat that throws money, a bunny waifu, a psychic waifu, a serpent that governs the sky, & a friggin llama god.

Vrokorta: But what if I told you there were Pokémon that could become any of these others?

Wiz: One of those Pokémon is the subject of this analysis, Ditto, the Transform Pokémon.

Sphere Robot: Among so many different creatures, Ditto is quite unique. He doesn't learn moves like other Pokémon do, rather he has the uncanny ability to copy the form & abilities of whatever Pokémon he sees. This allows Ditto to theoretically use any Pokémon move, he just needs to copy the right opponent.

Boomstick: But he can do more than copy opponents. Ditto's shown the power to copy inorganic objects, like books, cannons, & shields. Not to mention his shapeshifting ability also allows him to morph & stretch his body, like when he maneuvered a portion of himself through the ground to ambush trainers by wrapping them in his substance.

Wiz: Besides his shapeshifting abilities, Ditto is also resistant to Ghost-types & immune to Paralysis.

Vrokorta: While Ditto doesn't have many feats of his own due to almost never fighting in base, it's safe to assume he can compare to some of the weaker Pokémon. Magikarp can jump over mountains, a feat worth 98 Kilojoules. Even humans like James can exert energy equivalent to 2.3 Megajoules when he threw a Tentacruel.

Sphere Robot: And by turning into a shield, Ditto blocked hits from Deoxys clones. While likely not as powerful as the original, they were still able to overwhelm Jigglypuff. Pokémon like that can exert over 100 Tons of TNT with their moves, like Diglett's Earth Power & Scorbunny's Ember. Besides that though, Ditto seems pretty frail, being overpowered by Meowth & Hitmonchan, granted the latter had a type advantage.

Boomstick: Speaking of, Ditto has plenty of weaknesses. Besides his weakness to Fighting-types, he can also run into issues with transforming. For example, some Ditto are incapable of copying a Pokémon's size, some Ditto can't copy the composition of their target, some Ditto will drop their transformation if they laugh or relax, some Ditto can't copy the target's face, some Ditto can't copy moves until they learn more about their target, & while some Ditto can transform based on memory, others will commit errors when attempting to do so.

Wiz: Even so, with the power of almost every Pokémon & more at its potential disposal, it's more than a force to be reckoned with.

Metamormon[]

Wiz: Somewhere within the Digital World lies a land under attack.

Sphere Robot: Where the attacker comes from is unknown, just that he was mutated one day.

Vrokorta: This threat is known as, Metamormon.

Boomstick: The big flying egg thing.

Wiz: A threat so great it required the efforts of heroes from another dimension.

Boomstick: You mean Kirby & his friends?

Vrokorta: No, we mean Taichi Yagami & Takuya Kanbara.

Sphere Robot: As a Mega level Digimon, Metamormon is no joke in terms of power, but the real danger comes from his signature move, Laser Translation, where he analyzes the opponent's data, stores it in his Memory Circuit, & uses it to transform into that Digimon, copying their powers & adding their strength to his own. By doing this, Metamormon actually becomes a stronger version of whoever he copies, since it's his power, plus the power of whoever he copied.

Wiz: This allowed him to defeat & copy the likes of Ghoulmon, Goldramon, & Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, all of which were more than a match for his opponents, Zeromaru & Agunimon. Particularly worth noting is that Zeromaru actually defeated Ghoulmon prior to fighting Metamormon, so the fact that Metamormon could overwhelm him with Ghoulmon's copied data speaks volumes about his power & skill.

Vrokorta: The only problem is his Memory Circuit, which stores all of his data. If it gets broken, he loses access to his data, & can't store anymore. He can still copy whoever he sees & analyzes, but he becomes more limited without the Memory Circuit.

Boomstick: There's also the fact that he can only copy Digimon, he can't copy humans or anything like that, so there may be times where he can't copy anything.

Sphere Robot: As much as Metamormon relies on his transformations, it's not his only ability. With Trancey Wave, he can fire lasers sufficient to cause explosions, destroy ruins, & incapacitate Zero & Agunimon in one cheap shot.

Vrokorta: His only real weakness, besides what we already mentioned, is that his transformations always start from his chest where the Memory Circuit is, which may clue enemies in on his weak spot.

Wiz: He may not be perfect, but even at his weakest, all should fear the destructive power of Metamormon.

Intermission[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, we've-

Vrokorta: FORGET THAT! I'VE WANTED TO MAKE THIS FIGHT FOR YEARS! JUST GET TO THE GOOD PART ALREADY!

Death Battle[]

The Digital World

A figure was sent slamming into a metal wall, sending toxic sludge flying across the battlefield. The figure pulled itself from the wall, revealing itself to be NeoDevimon, a tall, lanky white devil. It looked across the field of toxic waste to see his opponent approaching. It was a massive being of green sludge with metal armor, known only as RareRaremon. NeoDevimon fired bolts of electricity at his foe, but the monster merely flinched. RareRaremon breathed out a horrible green mist that engulfed the devil, causing him to writhe in pain as his body slowly deteriorated. RareRaremon leaned down as he opened his enormous maw to devour NeoDevimon. The devil fought through his pain, forcing his body up to hold the monster's mouth open. His body was weak, but his resolve was strong. "I... WILL.. NOT. LOSE!" the devil reared back his left arm, & unleashed a slash inside the monster's mouth, inciting a guttural shriek. Taking advantage of the moment, NeoDevimon leapt over his foe, landing on his armored head. He unleashed a flurry of slashes, slicing through the metal like a wild beast. The armor was easily rended, leaving Rareraremon's slimy body at the mercy of the devil's claws, & there was none to be had. Each slash sent a jolt of electricity through the monster's body, shocking him beyond what his body could take. It wasn't long before the green titan collapsed to the ground, not an ounce of life left in him. NeoDevimon turned to the sky & uttered a cry of victory.

As he relished in his success, his body stopped deteriorating, & started to absorb the poison, as well as the surrounding data. His body grew larger & larger, as the data grew more plentiful. When the data finally receded, a new figure stood in NeoDevimon's place. A large, green figure, with large hands & oddly shaped wings. This was none other than Metamormon, & he was just as hungry for destruction as ever before. However, he did not want to destroy this land, it was in no need of destruction. He had to find somewhere where destruction could truly flourish. He focused his energy for just a moment, & a portal ripped open before him. Before heading through, he copied the data of RareRaremon, storing it in his Memory Circuit. He passed through the portal, knowing that wherever he went, no one would be safe.

The Pokémon World

A group of Pokémon are seen in the forest standing in a circle, consisting of Arbok, Morelull, Pumpkaboo, Typhlosion, Carnivine, & several others. They all watched as Ditto performed a series of transformations resembling his surrounding friends, much to their awe & joy. The show didn't last long, as a portal opened over the forest, inciting fear into all those present. Emerging from the portal was the figure of Metamormon, who began blasting the landscape with lasers without a second thought. Huge clearings were blown in the forest as numerous Pokémon ran for cover.

However, one Pokémon remained among those that fled, one who wouldn't stand for his friends being endangered. Ditto maneuvered to one of the clearings & shouted up at Metamormon, "Ditto!".

The massive Digimon turned & looked down at the Pokémon emotionlessly, "I will copy you". A flash of light flew from the Digimon's hands, but to no effect. "Organic creature" Metamormon stated, "Cannot copy". Energy began to build in the Digimon's hands, "If I cannot copy, I will destroy".

FIGHT!

(Big Blue Remix | Smash Ultimate)

Metamormon fired lasers from his hands, but Ditto receded into the ground to avoid it. The Pokémon emerged several meters away under the cover of trees, where he spotted a Beedrill trying to defend its home. Ditto focused on Beedrill's form, & began to morph his body. The Pokémon's gelatinous body coalesced into several round forms before edging out into stingers & wings. Ditto now fully resembled the Beedrill before him, & flew out to engage Metamormon. The Digimon saw him, & fired a series of lasers at the approaching insect. Ditto maneuvered around the attacks before cutting a gash in Metamormon's side. The Digimon winced in pain, knowing he'd have to up his game.

Luckily, his portal from earlier still remained, & an Okuwamon had just flown through it. Metamormon took his chance immediately, analyzing Okuwamon & copying his data. Metamormon instantly adopted the form of the massive insect, though appeared a bit more bulky. With one swipe, Metamormon downed the original Okuwamon before turning back to Ditto's flying form. The Transform Pokémon fired a series of stingers from his abdomen, all of which were knocked out of the air by Metamormon. The Digimon then fired a series of lightning bolts from his hands, forcing Ditto to fly around them. This put him in perfect position for Metamormon to deliver a slash that sent Ditto crashing into the ground & through several trees. Ditto struggled back to his feet, but noticed a Pangoro cross his path. In the brief moments before he left view, Ditto managed to copy his form. Ditto stood up to his new full height & shook himself off before running back into the fray.

Metamormon noticed several other Digimon pouring from the portal, & took this opportunity to start copying them. So absorbed in his task, he didn't notice Ditto approaching from behind. The panda duplicate leapt into the air & delivered a two-handed fist slam to Metamormon's back, sending him crashing into the ground. The Digimon groaned in frustration before changing form, becoming quite a bit smaller. Ditto went for another punch, but found it stopped by a large, soft fist. Metamormon had become Pandamon, & now delivered a full power palm strike to Ditto's chest, sending him flying into a tree. The Pokémon shook off the attack before uprooting said tree & throwing it like a javelin at Metamormon. The plush panda knocked the tree into the air with another palm strike before grabbing its base & swinging it at Ditto, sending him flying out of the forest.

Before Ditto could hit the ground, he spotted a Lopunny & copied her form, using his more lithe body to stick the landing. Metamormon rushed out of the forest after the foe, only to be hit with a roundhouse kick from Ditto, sending the panda crashing into a rock. Metamormon responded by changing into a rabbit of his own wielding metal gauntlets, Turuiemon. The Digimon leapt into the air & spun towards Ditto, but the latter dodged to the side, delivering a punch that briefly disoriented the rabbit brawler. A second strike from Ditto was blocked by Metamormon's metal gauntlets before the Digimon delivered a blow that knocked the other bunny into the air. Metamormon then transformed into Antylamon, delivering a strike that sent Ditto crashing through a mountain.

Metamormon performed a massive leap, planning to come down on top of his foe. Instead, he was knocked out of the air by a hail of seeds from Ditto, who now had Sceptile's form. The Digimon fell behind the mountain, only to quickly emerge by bursting through it, now in the form of Megidramon, the winged serpent. The Digimon unleashed a mouthful of flames that incinerated everything it touched, but Ditto leapt up out of range before landing on Metamormon's back. The Pokémon struck several times with his leaf bladed arms, but the Digimon changed forms again, sending both crashing to the ground. When Ditto got up, he saw his opponent in the form of Greymon. The dinosaur rushed straight at the Pokémon, tail at the ready. Ditto looked around for another Pokémon to copy, & spotted Goodra just in time. He copied her form quickly before countering Metamormon's tail swipe with his own, creating a massive shockwave.

Metamormon roared in frustration before transforming into Myotismon & throwing a punch. The move was countered when Ditto became Zoroark, blocking the punch with his new claws. The two traded blows for several seconds before Metamormon summoned a swarm of bats at Ditto. The Pokémon countered by slamming the ground with both hands, creating an explosion of darkness that obliterated all of the bats & sent his opponent flying. Metamormon was getting frustrated, "very" frustrated. He changed his form to RareRaremon, ready to put an end to things. The massive sludge Digimon breathed out a toxic mist, killing every plant it touched. Ditto starting coughing as his hair fell out & flesh started to melt. There was nothing he could do about the poison... but maybe someone else could.

Metamormon looked across his wake of death, knowing his foe stood no chance with such toxic gases. His expectations were immediately subverted when an Arbok flew out of the mist & bit down on him. The Digimon cried out & threw Ditto off, only for him to turn into Morelull & hover down to the ground. Upon landing, Ditto turned into Typhlosion, breathing out a wave of fire that immediately ignited Metamormon's toxic body. The Digimon cried out before returning to base form to end the flames. He panted heavily as Ditto took a shot in the dark.

As his enemy recovered, Ditto copied Metamormon's form. He expanded outward, growing huge hands, strange wings, & a screen on his chest. Metamormon couldn't believe his eyes. He was looking at... himself! Ditto wasted no time, & fired a series of lasers at the Digimon, forcing him backwards through the air. Metamormon looked out over the forest, hoping to find another foe to copy, only to find more organics. However, he did spot one thing.

Ditto continued to fire lasers until Metamormon suddenly disappeared. The Pokémon wondered if perhaps he'd obliterated his foe. This was proven wrong when a Porygon-Z leapt up & slammed head-first into Ditto's chest, sending him reeling. Metamormon had finally found a Pokémon he could copy. With his new power, Metamormon unleashed a series of lasers & electric attacks, gradually wearing Ditto down. However, the Digimon stopped short as he found himself too tired to continue attacking, having run out of PP & having to rest from using Hyper Beam 3 times in a row.

Ditto retaliated simply by swinging his arm at Metamormon, sending him crashing into the ground, creating a massive crater. The Digimon switched back to his base form, knowing his Pokémon form wasn't suitable for his needs. He looked up weakly at his foe, who prepared to finish him off with one final laser. Metamormon didn't have a lot of options, but he saw one that might be promising. Right before Ditto could fire, Metamormon copied his own data off of the Pokémon. With his strength recovered, he shot into the air & avoided the laser before firing a series of his own.

Caught off guard, Ditto was left helpless against the onslaught of attacks. Just when the Pokémon thought it was over, Metamormon punched him into the ground. Before Ditto could react, the Digimon slashed away at his foe's chest, tearing deep gash after deep gash until Ditto couldn't take anymore. The large green figure shrank back down into its original form, a small purple blob. Ditto lay unmoving, with swirls in his eyes. Metamormon showed no mercy, & blasted his downed foe with a pair of lasers that obliterated the entire forest.

K.O.!

Metamormon looked out over the destruction. He was pleased, but not satisfied. He moved on through the air, searching for his next target.

Results[]

Sphere Robot: And that's another Pokémon murdered for minding it's own business. Why are you like this Vrok?

Vrokorta: It's not my fault. Pokémon are super basic, & a lot of Digimon are bad guys. Once you factor in general Digimon superiority, it just ends up this way.

Wiz: Okay enough of that, why did Metamormon win?

Vrokorta: Well every reason really. When you get down to it, Ditto's only advantage was the ability to copy anything, while Metamormon was restricted to Digimon only. Once you get past that, every advantage goes to Metamormon.

Boomstick: Yeah I mean, just compare their base forms. Ditto had no attacks, no feats of strength, & at best he could block a few 100 Tons. Metamormon could contend with Agunimon & Zeromaru, who've fought & killed Ultimate & Mega level Digimon respectively. Digimon like that are capable of destroying planets & stars, possibly more depending on your sources & reasoning, but Planetary strength was more than enough to handle Ditto.

Wiz: Don't forget speed. Even Champion level Digimon can react to lasers & light beams, imagine how fast a Mega like Metamormon would be.

Sphere Robot: Plus he can fly, & has an actual attack. He was fully prepared for battle, copy or no copy.

Boomstick: But surely once you factor in transformations Ditto stands a better chance right?

Vrokorta: Hardly. Ditto either had to rely on finding someone, or using his memory. Metamormon could just store the info for later use at any time as long as the Memory Circuit didn't break, & Ditto's not exactly smart enough to figure that one out.

Wiz: Let's not forget, while Ditto could copy any opponent, Metamormon would add the opponent's strength to his own. To put it simply, if both Ditto & Metamormon copied the same foe, Metamormon would always be stronger, because he's not becoming his opponent's equal, he's becoming them & adding himself to it.

Boomstick: Plus he heals after every transformation, Ditto doesn't do that.

Sphere Robot: Now I know what you're thinking, "Ditto could just copy a Pokémon stronger than Metamormon". The issue is that, Metamormon is a Planet buster AT MINIMUM. Ditto would have to copy a legendary to match or surpass that strength. Not only is that highly unlikely, but if we let Ditto copy legendaries, then there's nothing stopping Metamormon from copying god-tier Digimon. Wanna copy Mewtwo? Okay, Metamormon is now 4 times stronger by copying Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. Wanna copy Ultra Necrozma? Okay, Metamormon is now a multiversal dragon capable of creating layers of the Digital World. Wanna copy ARCEUS? Okay, Metamormon copies Omnimox X & deletes all of existence! You see what I'm getting at here?

Wiz: Under the right circumstances, with the right Pokémon to copy, & no Digimon for Metamormon to copy, Ditto MIGHT be able to pull a win.

Vrokorta: But under these circumstances, you know, EQUAL circumstances, Metamormon has every advantage he needs to win this fight with ease.

Boomstick: Metamormon was no Meta"moron", & he got "riddo", of Ditto.

Sphere Robot: The winner is Metamoron, I mean... Metamormon.

Leomon was walking through the city, when numerous strange-looking humans surrounded him. "You'll pay for what you've done to our city!" one said to the lion.

"What have I done? I only just got here." the lion responded. His answer came when all of the humans were bisected by a huge, lion-looking figure. "You! They mistook me for you!" Leomon said as he reached for his sword.

"Heh, I don't remember you from the Tower of Evolution" the lion said as he bore his claws, "That must mean you're an enemy".
