Dexter Morgan, originally born, Dexter Moser, was two years old when he was forced to witness his mothers being cut up by chainsaws in a shipping container. This terrible incident broke Dexter, and gave him a violent urge to kill, Dexter acted out by killing his neighbours dog, this was noticed by his father Harry Morgan. Harry tried to keep Dexter in control of his impulses by teaching him to hunt animals, but this did not work and Dexter wanted to start killing PEOPLE. Harry taught Dexter a code (That he himself got from Doctor Vougell) The rules were: Don't get caught, Never kill an Innocent, Targets must be killers who have evaded the justice system, Killing must serve a purpose, otherwise, it's just plain murder, Blend in socially, Maintain appearances, Fake his emotions and normality, Control urges to kill and channel them, Be prepared, Leave no traces or evidence, Never make a scene, Stay calm and collected, Don't make things personal because it clouds judgment, Don’t get emotionally involved, and no preemptive killing.
