Demonix was once a young druid and Getafix' best friend. One day at the druid contest, Demonix presented his flame powder that was judged "useful" by the judges, while Getafix just showed a powder that can rearrange object to form structures judged "useless". Demonix won thanks to his useful spell, but he hadn't the carrier he hoped for, his spell was making him helpful through the years until he wasn't. While Getafix was becoming the most famous of all druids thanks to his magic potion, Demonix sank in jealously and darkness, leading him to practice forbidden magic, resulting in his banishment from the druid council.
Movie[]
Upon learning from a lost baby boar that Getafix was looking for a successor, Demonix came out from the shadow to propose himself, but Getafix refused. Demonix then visited Caesar to make a deal with him : if he got him the secret of the magic potion, he would give him the druids' forest as a form of revenge.
Afterwards, Demonix met Cholerix, one of the best young druids in Gaul and taught him a butterflies of light spell that would make him Getafix's successor. Cholerix refused to show Getafix a spell that isn't his or that is useless, but he eventually performed it in front of Getafix, making him win the contest. Meanwhile, Demonix accidentally set the forest on fire, he couldn't own it anymore, but he still had his revenge on his former friends.
Getafix although having been horrified by the burnt druids' forest still told Cholerix the secret of the magic potion, without telling him the secret ingredient as he did not entirely trust him. Later, Getafix learned that the village has no more potion and rushed to it, while Demonix petrified Obelix and stole a bag of ingredients he brought to Cholerix. He convinced the young druid to brew the magic potion to save the village, but when he learned that Getafix didn't give him the secret ingredient, he started to put anything in the cauldron. Pectine eventually pushed him away, but his flame powder fell in the cauldron, and drinking it, Demonix herited of enhanced pyromancy powers. With his fire power increased, he started to throw fireballs on the village and the Romans.
Demonix confronted Getafix, teasing him of not being a true druid for making just one potion and demanded the secret ingredient of it, but the Getafix answered that he prefered to die than to tell him. As Demonix was about to kill his arch-enemy, Obelix who had been freed from his paralysis by Asterix ran at him and gave him good punch that knocked him out. Pectine eventually brewed the magic potion by herself with the ingredients and the secret ingredient hidden in Getafix' golden sickle, and the Gauls who drank it were fast enought to extinguish all the fire in the village. But in his unconsciousness, Demonix drank another druid's potion that turned him into a giant.
The Gauls and the Romans tried to attack Demonix with the magic potion, but the latter was completely immune to their strength, so Getafix took out his powder that made him lose against Demonix' one, forming a giant centaur with the roman legionnaries at the size of the giant. With the help of the powder, the Romans and Obelix' strength, Demonix was punched in the air to space then fell back on Earth, landing on the pirates' ship and presumably dying.
Appearance[]
Demonix is a tall old man with a long grey beard, he is shown wearing a black fur coat and a deer skull. As a giant, he is 100 times his size, his entire body is composed of magma, his hair is darker and he has bright orange eyes.

Powers and Abilities[]
- Speed: Demonix can run very fast, as shown when he outruns Obelix who has supernatural speed.
- Agility: Demonix is shown to be very agile, as shown when he jumped between two trees and when he did a slide to hypnotize Obelix before he could punch him.
- Stamina: Demonix can keep up being chased by Obelix, despite his old age.
- Pyrokinesis: Demonix showed to be skilled with fire. According to Atmospherix, Demonix used to use his flame powder for good like for cooking or for spectacles. He eventually used the dark side of the pyromancy, which resulted in his banishment. After drinking a potion made with his powder, Demonix becomes a powerful pyromancer with the ability to throw big fireballs. His fireballs are bigger and more powerful when he is a giant.
- Fire and heat resistance: during the final battle, Demonix was shown wandering in Gauls' burning village without showing any sign of sweat or burn. He can also survive being hit by his own fireballs.
- Cold and space resistance (As a giant only): When thrown in space, Demonix' fire giant body's temperature allowed to resist to high freshness. He was also able to survive to the lack of oxygen in space (Even if it was for a short time before landing back on Earth).
- Hypnosis: Demonix can use his spell to hypnotize his foes, but this technique only works on weak minds like Obelix as he couldn't hypnotize Asterix because of his tough mind.
- Potion brewing: As a druid, Demonix can brew all kind of potions, like his fire powder, the butterflies of light spell he taught to Cholerix or the pyromancy potion (brewed by accident).
- Intelligence: Demonix has a lot of knowledge in druidism and is smart enough to make ingenious plans which are unlikely to fail.
- Manipulation:Demonix is shown to be very skilled at manipulating when he managed to convince Caesar to get his help to take his revenge and when he convinced Cholerix to brew a useless potion that isn't his to become Getafix' successor.
- Teaching: Demonix taught Cholerix how to brew a butterflies of light spell to help him win the contest.
- Superhuman strength (As a giant only): As a giant, Demonix possesses huge strength.
- Superhuman stamina (As a giant only): As a giant, Demonix is immune to everything thanks to his stone composition and his high temperature, even to the magic potion, unless it is drunk by someone his size. He can also resist being hit by a meteorite much bigger than him and deviate it in the same time.
