Lobo or Death is the overarching antagonist of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. He comes to take Puss' last life himself instead of waiting for Puss to die.

Lobo is shown to have held a grudge against Puss in Boots, as he seems to despise Puss at the start of the movie, claiming the idea of 9 lives is absurd, and Puss has wasted the previous 8, so he came to personally retrieve the final life himself. Puss is very quickly disarmed and bested by Lobo, who appears to be taking their "fight" very casually. Puss eventually escapes, but Lobo constantly follows him, not giving up. He appears multiple times in the middle of the movie, accompanied by a whistle that struck fear into Puss each time he heard it. Eventually Puss has nowhere to go as he is on the wishing star, and Lobo closes in. Lobo gives Puss his sword back, telling him to pick it up and fight. They have a fight on the star, each evading the other's blows and weapons, eventually Puss is able to briefly stun Lobo. Puss knows Lobo cannot be defeated, but he declares he will continue to fight for his life, and refuses to run away or claim his 8 lives back, which Death begrudgingly respects. In the end, Lobo lets Puss off, but warn him this will be the last time they meet again, then leaves.
