- The connections between Darth Vader and Lord Garmadon are that they are black-clad fathers who fell to darkness. Originally, both were skilled heroes (Anakin Skywalker and Garmadon) who became one of the greatest of their kind, though they differed in terms of their success (Anakin did not become a Jedi Master, while Garmadon became Master Garmadon). Both fought in a conflict (The Clone Wars and The Serpentine War), but despite their heroic natures, they struggled with dark tempting powers within them over many years (The dark side of the Force and The Great Devourer's venom). Later, it was revealed that the event(s) that resulted in their downfall were orchestrated by a dark lord (Darth Sidious and The Overlord). The dark power's influence gradually encouraged them to use pragmatic methods to achieve their goals, causing them to go against their kind, leading to a fateful confrontation (Duel on Mustafar and Battle between Brothers) with their closest ally (Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Wu) who they shared a brotherly bond with (Obi-Wan considered Anakin his brother, while Wu and Garmadon are biological siblings). The battle ended in their defeat, leaving them disfigured (Darth Vader was disfigured by fire, and Lord Garmadon was disfigured by a lightning bolt). Both received the title of "Lord", albeit at different points in their life (Darth Vader was given the title after he joined Darth Sidious, while Lord Garmadon was given the title during his training under Master Chen). Decades later, both would confront their archenemy, who turned out to be their son (Luke Skywalker and Lloyd Garmadon). Their emotional connections to their son ultimately resulted in their redemption, allowing destiny to be fulfilled (Anakin's destiny as the Chosen One and Lloyd's destiny as the Green Ninja). However, their redemptions resulted in opposite outcomes (Anakin's redemption came shortly before his death, while Garmadon continued to fight after his redemption). Both sacrificed themselves to defeat their masters (Vader threw Emperor Palpatine to his death and Garmadon banished himself to the Cursed Realm to stop Master Chen's Anacondrai army).
