Dante vs. Alucard (Castlevania) is a What-If? episode of Death Battle.

Description[]
Man and Monster, warriors of Light and Darkness, they wield mighty weapons and formidable abilities to protect the world from the evils that made them.
Interlude[]
Boomstick: This is a story about how evil dun fucked up.
Wiz: Or something close to that anyways. Today in Deathbattle we're pitting two warriors born from two worlds against one another.
Boomstick: Dante from Devil May Cry.
Wiz: And Alucard from Castlevania.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and abilities to discover who would win a Deathbattle.
Dante[]

"This party's getting crazy, let's rock!"
Wiz: Returning for a second round after his victory against Bayonetta, Dante is rocking and roaring to fight.
Boomstick: He's a man with a sword, a pair of pistols, and a mission.
Whiz: Dante is the son of Sparda, a legendary demon that turned against his kind and protected humanity at the cost of his life. Dante has turned his formidable power and weapons into a force for good, destroying any demons that threaten humanity.
Boomstick: Not content with his own enemies, Dante tends to pick up leftovers from his dad and brother as well.
Whiz: And he's not above saving his nephew Nero either, even allowing him to beat him up in order to gauge his strength.
Boomstick: Dante's healing factor is as badass as they come- shooting him through the head or stabbing him through the chest does nothing to him- he shakes it off with a laugh and a quip!
Wiz: That's not to say he won't be hurt, Dante takes damage from almost any given attack that hits him, but his regeneration is so powerful that even chopping through a limb has the limb regenerate faster than it can be separated from the body- judging by Vergil anyways.
Boomstick: But hitting a limb can be an issue, old Dante's no slouch in combat, he can chop bullets out of the air and bullet-time with ease- his reflexes are so great that he can surf a missile and match his brother Vergil- who moves around at supersonic speeds.
Wiz: Dante carries a pair of pistols, Ebony and Ivory, that fire his own personal energy as fast as he can pull the triggers- he doesn't even have to reload them.
Boomstick: The pistols pack a punch, they've been used to blast through stone and steel with a hailstorm of flying lead- er- demon juice?
Whiz: But while Dante's fond of his pistols, his trusty sword is one of his greatest weapons. While originally its true power was dormant, it awakened as a mighty blade after Dante had it run through him.
Boomstick: Talk about an attachment to your weapons!
Whiz: While his fighting style is cocky and somewhat ridiculous, there is no denying Dante's prowess with the blade. He's capable of unleashing a repertoire of moves to deal with multiple situations- from multiple rapid stabs to a whirling vortex and even hurling his sword at his opponent before calling it back.
Boomstick: He's packing enough power to shatter statues and cut through demons of all shape and size like cheese.
Whiz: And that's all without bringing in his Devil Trigger.
Boomstick: For when Dante needs that extra bit of strength to take on the big boys.
Whiz: His Devil Form grants Dante the power of flight and increases his strength and durability to even higher levels- allowing him to regenerate almost instantly and move at high speeds.
Boomstick: Dante's got a ton of weapons but for some reason- he keeps losing them between his games!
Whiz: Considering how he's always broke, it's pretty likely he pawns them off to other demons to pay the bills.
Alucard (Castlevania)[]

"You will never touch this world again. In Mother's name, I swear it!"
Wiz: A new combatant, Alucard is the son of Dracula.
Boomstick: Dragula?!
Wiz: No- DRACULA! The main badguy of the Castlevania series- the oldest and most powerful vampire in the world?
Boomstick: Does he have a giant bloody-chain?
Wiz: No- well yes- but no. That's an alternate universe, we're not using that. We're using oldschool Alucard.
Boomstick: So sidescroller shenanigans?
Wiz: Yep, in accordance with Castlevania tradition, Alucard arrives at Dracula's castle and proceeds to storm the place; cutting down everything in his path to get to his father. Eventually the two meet in battle and Alucard emerges victorious, though he later seals himself away for fear of his powers being too great.
Boomstick: Alucard was so strong that Death himself decided to nerf him.
Wiz: Alucard did indeed lose all of his equipment when Death stole it, but he has since retrieved his items and others besides. Imaginatively his sword is named, Alucard's Sword, the sword possesses a powerful ability- Warp Strike.
Boomstick: When using his signature sword, Alucard can teleport behind his enemy and attack them, allowing him to bypass most defenses.
Wiz: In conjunction with dark magic and relics, Alucard can become a force to be reckoned with, capable of responding to dire threats with a variety of skills and powers.
Boomstick: Like a cloak that heals him the more blood that's splashed on it!
Wiz: Well no, it instead restores his hearts, which for Castlevania characters serves more as a magic resource- for spells.
Boomstick: They have spells?
Wiz: Indeed they do, Alucard in particular is one of the main spell users, having several magical attacks and abilities that help him survive in battle.
Boomstick: Not only can he summon familiars like the Sword Brothers, he can be healed by blood splashing on him and teleport to throw fireballs.
Wiz: In addition to those abilities, he can transform into several different states: a bat, a wolf, or even mist- the mist in particular enables him to become insubstantial and evade enemy attacks.
Boomstick: But by far his most powerful ability is Soul Steal.
Wiz: Soul Steal is an incredibly dangerous power- Alucard draws the soul of his opponent out of its body- destroying weaker enemies outright and constantly draining power from stronger foes to heal himself.
DEATH BATTLE![]
Dante walks through a darkened hall, the only light sources are the flickering toches set into the stone walls of the castle. His steps echo as he confidently strikes forwards.
"Well isn't this just great, another old and drafty castle. Would it kill demons to be a little more original?"
A group of zombies emerge from the floor, rising up around Dante. He sighs before drawing Rebellion and whirling around in a circle, slicing them all in half in spurts of blood. The liquid gets in Dante's hair- causing him to plant Rebellion into the ground before shaking his head and patting at his hair to get it out.
"Come on- at least give me something exciting for the job! It doesn't pay well as is!"
A new voice echoes out from the darkness, "Perhaps I can provide your challenge." Alucard emerges from the shadows and walks forwards, his cape billowing behind him. "You should not be here- this place is stained with evil beyond this world."
Dante shrugs as he walks forwards, arms held upwards with his palms empty, "Sorry guy but- the job pays for clearing the castle. You're free to go if you want, but otherwise," Dante suddenly draws Ivory and Ebony before pointing them at Alucard, "you're part of my problem."
Lightning flares into existence beyond the windows, the light causing either figure to become a dark silhouette briefly before the dim torches brighten them again, rain lashing against the panes as the two stand a distance apart.
Alucard slowly shakes his head, "I will give you one last chance, depart now or face the consequences."
Dante laughs, "That's cute, but I think we're both out of chances- aren't we?"
Alucard draws his own sword, a gust of wind causing all the torches in the passage to flicker. "So it seems."
Dante opens fire, a pair bullets firing from his pistols to streak down the hall towards Alucard. Alucard dodges between the bullets and throws a stake at Dante with the same motion. The silver shaft strikes Dante dead-center in the chest, penetrating his torso and sticking there. Dante looks down and sighs.
"Now that's just insulting- you're throwing around silver- and I can't even afford a pizza." Dante plucks the stake out and looks at it and back to Alucard then back at it. "I'm keeping this." Dante proceeds to pocket the stake. "Guess I'm gonna have to give you something in return." He kicks one of his legs backwards, catching Rebellion on the cross-guard and launching it into the air. Dante grabs it on the way down and suddenly launches himself forwards in a thrust to try to impale Alucard.
The Stinger is deflected off to the side as Alucard raises his shield, catching and deflecting the blow. Dante recovers and pivots- spinning around to deliver a slash to Alucard's back before he can fully escape his range. The blow lands and a spurt of blood flies through the air as Alucard staggers forwards, blood streaming from a deep cut on his back. Alucard grimaces as Dante tries to cut him again, leaping into the air and forming a pair of wings to ascend higher. Dante is right behind him, a platform of energy appearing underneath his feat to follow. He brings Rebellion down onto Alucard's head- only for Alucard to mist-form and cause Dante to dive right past him to slam into the ground. Alucard reforms atop a statue, panting and looking down at Dante. Dante proceeds to mock him.
"I thought you were gonna be a challenge?"
Alucard stands tall before throwing out his hand, "Soul Steal!" Dante staggers in pain as energy begins ripping out of his body, traveling through the air to Alucard's hand. The cut on his back closes and stops bleeding as Alucard clenches his fist. Dante staggers and his breathing gets noticeably more ragged. He pants and looks up at Alucard.
"Now that's... really annoying!"
Dante throws his sword at Alucard, who dodges and leaps into the air as Dante draws his pistols and unleashes a barrage of bullets to follow him. Alucard uses his wings to evade the gunfire as Dante jumps into the air to intercept his new course- Rebellion whirling back into his hand as he strikes at Alucard. Alucard parries the blow as both land on the ground. The two dash forwards and begin the fight in earnest. Alucard leaps into the air before diving downwards to kick at Dante, who evades before unleashing a barrage of rapid-fire stabs at Alucard. Alucard however is no longer there- leaving behind a red outline as he slices Dante's back open in a shower of blood similar to the blow he'd previously been dealt. Dante whirls around only to find Alucard back at his original starting point. Alucard begins hurling a series of silver stakes at Dante, who shoots each individual one out of the air with his pistols until Alucard stops throwing them. Dante sounds amazed.
"How many of those things do you have?!"
Alucard doesn't exchange any further words, a column of light teleporting him farther away from Dante as he reappears and hurls several fireballs down the hallway. Dante responds by slicing the fireballs in half- creating twin waves of fire that begin setting the castle alight behind him. Dante looks up to see Alucard airborne again- a sword flying through the air above him. Alucard gestures and a rain of swords fly forwards, piercing Dante multiple times and causing him to sag to the ground, oozing blood in a wide circle around himself.
Alucard lands and walks forwards, the blood surging from Dante and rising up to Alucard, who shines with light as he seems to strengthen from the absorption. Dante grimly looks up at Alucard before smiling.
Dante makes an upwards slash to hit Alucard, sending him flying into the air as blood gushes from the hit. Dante stands and pulses with power- shattering all of the swords still in his body as he jumps upwards to fight Alucard. The two float in the air- trading blows as the shockwaves from the battle echo outwards, shattering windows and causing the fire to crawl higher. Eventually they separate again. Dante uses his double-jump to catapult himself into the air above Alucard- unleashing a torrent of bullets that pierces Alucard multiple times before he uses his mist-form again- floating away as Dante drops down into the flames.
Alucard lands atop a statue, bleeding from dozens of bullet-wounds, and looks to the fire below as Dante blasts out from the inferno- his demon form surging towards Alucard. Alucard teleports away as Dante demolishes the statue Alucard was standing on. Turning around to see Alucard appear on the other side of the hall and gesture forwards- unleashing twin spheres of dark energy. They strike Dante and explode- though he emerges unscathed and charges Alucard again.
"Jackpot!"
Alucard takes out a stopwatch- holding it in front of him as Dante draws close.
"Stop."
Dante freezes in time just as the rest of the room- hanging in the air as Alucard holds out his hand and places it directly on Dante's chest.
"SOUL STEAL!"
Streams of energy are ripped from Dante, creating a river of light that flows into Alucard until Dante turns back into his normal form, Alucard drops him into the fire below- Dante vanishes in the flames as Alucard looks at the amulet he is now holding.
"Our kind should not exist in this world..."
K.O.
Results[]
Boomstick: Demons and vampires ripping each other apart in battle- that's some metal stuff there!
Wiz: Both combatants possess incredible speed, strength, and regeneration compared to normal humans.
Boom: And the two are both packing a ton of tools for the job.
Wiz: But Alucard just had a few advantages that Dante didn't- such as his ability to stop time-
Boom: Wait a minute- Dante can stop time!
Wiz: Well not quite, Dante can slow time- not bring it to a complete halt like Alucard can. Also it's not entirely certain Dante retained that power after DMC3 since he never demonstrates it again.
Boom: But what about Dante's regen?
Wiz: The regen of Devil May Cry characters is limited by their personal energy, enough injuries will cause them to eventually slow down and succumb to the damage they're taking.
Boom: That's a problem since Alucard actually heals himself from blood that he gets from wounding his enemies, it restores both his health and his hearts at the same time, double-dipper!
Wiz: His mist-form was another potent asset, preventing a large amount of Dante's arsenal from working against him as it renders him practically immune to damage.
Boom: But the capper to it all has to be Soul Steal.
Wiz: This ability is unreal in its potential, allowing Alucard a free method of draining power with no counter available to Dante, so it was just a matter of time before he was finally used up enough that he couldn't fight anymore.
Boom: Guess Dante needs to learn respect for his elders.
Wiz: The winner in, Alucard!

Description[]
Devil May Cry Vs. Castlevania! Half monster, half human, all badass. Who's walking away?
Interlude[]
Thunder: Dante Vs. Alucard!
Metroid: The Son of Sparda Vs. the Son of Dracula.
Thunder: He's Metroid and I'm Thunder!
Metroid: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Dante's ready to rock, baby![]
Metroid: A thousand years ago, an evil unlkike no other attempted to take over the human world. This was Mundas, the demon king.
Thunder: But his plans were stopped by another demon, the Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne--I MEAN SPARDA. Sparda, yeah.
Metroid: Sparda had sealed off the link between the human world and demon world, and even settled down to have a wife and family. Of which he actually had two kids; Vergil, and Dante.
Thunder: But when dear old Dad died, Mundas' demons went on a rampage, killing Vergil and Mundas' wife. But Dante had survived, and took on the name Tony Redgrave. But he had a plan...
Metroid: Soon Dante opened up a store called Devil May Cry, all positioned for delivering hits on demonic entities. With this new job, Dante planned tp wipe out the Underworld's demons..and get a paycheck while at it.
BACKGROUND
Occupation: Devil Hunter
Age: 40s
Height: 190 cm / 6'3
Half-Demon Half-Human Hybrid
Likes: Pizza, Strawberry Sundaes, Jack Daniels
Terrible at paying his bills on time
Thunder: And he does it while having a great time! Due to being half demon, Dante's actually got superhuman strength, speed, and sheer fucking tenacity, thanks to having the same blood and soul as Sparda. In fact, Sparda is one of the strongest demon's around, so Dante's got that hybrid power above even other hybrids!
Metroid: He also has absurd amounts of Stamina. Not only can he regain Stamina fast, he once fought his brother, Vergil, for 39 days straight. While there's a chance he may have a rest, who knows how many time he HAD to take a break. He can even breath in space and underwater...
Thunder: Or pull a Jesus and walk on water! He's also overflowing with Demonic Power. It actually gives him his wacky power, because the lower it gets, he gets weaker, slower and kind of sloppy. But Dante's Demonic Energy restores itself at a fast rate, and allows him so wild moves; shooting explosive energy out of his sword, creating platforms for him to jump off of or dash forward, charge his firearms with demonic energy, powering vehicles to go faster, and even destroying walls and and buildings by just powering up!
Metroid: But perhaps Dante's biggest power is his ability to heal from nearly any injury. From multiple impalements, being shot through the head, rising through a sword and it's long handle by standing through, and many more. He's even likely comparable to his brother, who survived being sliced in half! Not even stabbing him the heart's going to kill him. Nero, another half-demon Dante's regeneration should scale to, regenerated lost body parts and even recovered from being melted physically and spiritually.
Thunder: Vergil even eventually came back after his soul was obliterated! It just...took some time. Several years. But while Demons can regen, Sparda and his kin actually can null that!
Metroid: Such as the time he killed Sid, a demon capable of regenerating their body from blood, and Dante killed them, even with that regeneration.
Thunder: He's got Superhuman Senses, since he can see souls leave bodies, summon and sense danger and aura, smell the dark aura that came from one's blood, sense killing intent, magic and magical energy, see through illusions, and even sense an incoming phone call!
Metroid: Honestly, how is that last one more notable to you? A-Anyway, Dante has supernatural willpower, since wielding the Sword of Sparda requires you to have tremendous will. His brother even resisted mind control and enslavement from Mundas despite having his name changed by the villain which would change his aspect.
Thunder: He even attacks souls, because he once killed a demon while harming the host it possessed and even fights ghastly foes! He even has sealing powers!
Metroid: Not only do his bullets have sealed Spirits inside, Dante is said to have better sealing power than his father. Sparda's seals can permanently weaken foes even if they break out of it, and one of Sparda's best seals had him lock away the demon Argosax that, unless the seal was broken, was stuck in a subspace with no exit. Dante has some form of telekinesis, and even gain power from fear, misery and despair, and even inflict those emotions on those who logically lack those emotions. Powerful demons can even immobilize foes with those emotions. He even gains powers from pain and blood.
Thunder: But his best ability is honestly his evolutionary capability! He's capable of getting skilled in combat at stupidly fast speed, even against demons that have techniques that allow them to perceive patterns far beyond their opponent's abilities! Even adapting strength, and his brother speed learned how to read ancient texts that took years for a human to figure out!
Metroid: But while Dante's abilities are immense, he's also an expert with nearly every weapon he gets ahold of. His longest running weapons are Ebony and Ivory.
Thunder: And Ebony and Ivory are custom handguns Dante got made with great work too! Ebony is designed for long distance targeting and comfort, while Ivory is for fast draw times and rapid fire! And Dante can even charge it up with demonic energy…although that's overkill considering he can obliterate powerful demons with a single shot.
Metroid: And Dante has carried various blades throughout his career, from Rebellion to Alaster to Sparda, the sword named after his Dad. But now, he's got a new weapon called Dante. It doesn't just share his name, it shares his will.
Thunder: He also has some fancy moves to go with it; like Prop Shredder, where he spins it in a circle, Helm Breaker, where he drops down with the blade out, or Air Rave, which he spins while dropping with the blade! And there's like a crapton more.
Metroid: He also has a skill called Swords Formation, where he summons several glowing red swords alongside him. These can slash alongside his attacks, increase evasion, or form into a shield. And while Dante has MANY weapons he can utilize...he admittly has sold most of them to pay his rent.
Thunder: I know that pain all too well...but the Devil Arms he does have are pretty sick! Balrog is a pair of a gauntlets, greaves and shoulder pads that lets Dante go hand to hand! When he's punching, he fights similarly to boxing, but when he switches to kick attacks, the half demon starts doing capoeria, doing flips and cartwheel kicks! Oh and the stuff can ignite on fire for extra damage.
Metroid: Cavaliere is a motorcycle Dante can use to ram into enemies, and even split it into two to use as a pair of buzzsaws. Dr. Faust is a cowboy hat that fires hardened crystallized demon blood, in other words the red orbs Dante collects. He can set similar hats on his foes, making them spill blood and even launch them towards Dante himself. He can create a swirling cloud of red orb crystals that eventually launch forward or to whoever Dante targets, and even cast down giant red orb meteors.
Thunder: With King Cerberus, Dante wields a pair of nunchucks with ice power! It can turn into a fire tipped bo staff, and three section staff charged with lightning!
Metroid: He also wields Kalina Ann, a weapon that belongs to his friend Lady, but he did take it several times. It can fire mini missiles, rockets, and homing rockets, and has a bayonet that can be used as a melee weapon and can be fired with a wire and retract.
Thunder: And he can attach two Kalina Ann's together and launch double the explosives, twice the bayonets, and even unleash a insanely powered heat ray! Oh and he also has a shotgun.
Metroid: All these are good, but Dante also has styles. These are essentially skills that let Dante do better in certain aspects. For instance, Gunslinger makes him do more tricks for his firearms, while Swordmaster brings more skill to his swords.
Thunder: With Doppelganger style, he can make a clone to fight with him, Trickster style has him move so fast he looks likes he's teleported, Royal Guard style makes him practically a walking juggernaut, and Quicksilver style lets him slow down time!
Metroid: But if all these can get Dante out of trouble, he can activate a transformation called Devil Trigger. It essentially turns Dante into a full demon for a limited time. This increases his strength and speed, and makes him heal from dangerous injuries on the fly. And he can well, fly.
Thunder: But that ain't all folks; Dante has one extra transformation; the Sin Devil Trigger! In that form, the dude is nigh-unstoppable!
Metroid: This form increases his strength and speed further, and makes him even more stronger. He even becomes almost invulnerable, as he can't be staggered or knocked down, cannot be interrupted from attacks, and takes way less damage than before.
Thunder: Let's also note Dante gets new moves here! He can do a sword combo that ends with a giant 360 sweep, a homing stab, can fire giant fireballs or rapid-fire laser bolts, a ground pound with a giant area of effect, grapples, and the toughest move in the arsenal, Judgement, where he unleashes a barrage of sword attacks from everywhich way that ends in a giant explosion just to ensure everyone hit dies!
Metroid: But this does leave him exhausted once Sin Devil Trigger times up. And considering his occasional reckless attitude, he could make a bad calls with it. But he has enough plus to make up for the negatives.
Thunder: Dante's one overpowered fighter! He's taken on several overpowered demons, including Mundus, who can create a universe to fight in, that's stated to be infinitely expanding, and Dante killed him! And in that same fight he flew across space to fight Mundas, going past numerous stars, which was calced at 9.8 million times the speed of light!
Metroid: And that was at the end of Devil May Cry 1. Later adventures prove Dante got stronger. Even with this, Dante should get multipliers via Devil Trigger, while most of them are hard to deduce since they vary per game, it's highest was 10x, and Sin Devil Trigger is its strongest, so a stat increase for the Stat trinity of about 20x.
Thunder: But despite all his wacky wahoo pizza man attitude, Dante is...depressed. Deep down he's broken from losing his family and everything, and you can see him grow more distance until he met Nero. And now he had a guy to relate with...and soon enough he even managed to mend fences with his brother! And not needing Mesphito's help too!
Metroid: So don't let the flippant attitude push you away; if there's a demon on the loose, call up Devil May Cry. Dante will be there to make sure the Devil cries one last time.
Thunder: ...And aura farm doing it!
Alucard dwells in the night![]
Metroid: Back in the 11th century, there was two friends known as Leon Belmont, and Mathias Cronqvist. Both serving as commanders of Knights, nothing seemed to show anything going wrong.
Thunder: Nah. Mathias had a wife, who uh...died of an illness. And Mathias was left to grieve his dead wife. But he grieved a bit TOO hard.
Metroid: His wife's death cause enough grief to make Mathais swear vengeance against God himself...and after a lengthy process, became the being of Chaos known as Dracula.
Thunder: But after some of Drac's constant fights with the Belmonts, he actually showed darkness doesn't always mean being a douche.
Metroid: Eventually, Dracula settled down and got with a girl named Lisa. After awhile they even had a child. A child known as Alucard.
BACKGROUND
Full Name: Adrian Fahrenheit Țepeș
Current Alias: Genya Arikado
Species: Dhamphir
Birthplace: Transylvania, Romania
Currently working for a Japanese agency
Unofficial uncle of the Belmont Clan
Thunder: After, getting married and even willing to stop his evil, everything seemed fine for Dracula...then Lisa got murked by a corrupt church. Asses.
Metroid: However, father and son took this differently. While Alucard was there to hear her final words to not hate humans, Dracula sadly did not. As a result, he relapsed to evil while his son pushed to continue for good.
Thunder: So generational divide. But this meant Alucard had no choice to fight daddy, and his minions! But he's not over his head here.
Metroid: Alucard is an expert fighter, especially in swordsmanship, even capable of dual wielding. He wields many a blade, including his Alucard Sword, a estoc made by his mother that can be controlled telekinetically, be enchanted with hellfire, and allows him to teleport.
Thunder: Or the Alucard Spear, a weapon he made himself! This baby can generate fire, wind and lightning, and make copies of itself! Another weapon he has is Crissaegrim, katanas he can dual wield and can generate blades of wind, which strike four times each hit! It can create ice that drains life, and fire that can overheat armor!
Metroid: He also wields the Alucard Shield. It's his best shield, protecting from most attacks. And he does have a ton of other weapons that can actually have unique effects.
Thunder: The Jewel Sword turns enemies Alucard kills with it into jewels, the Holy Sword is effective against dark beings, the Hrunting sword poisons most targets, the Dainslef sword gets stronger by tasting blood, the Marsil sword has pyrokinetic abilities, and the Mourneblade feeds on the souls of anyone it hits!
Metroid: And those are just his one-handed swords; he has two-handed swords too, like Muramasa, which gets stronger with blood, or Masamune, which creates multi-colored slashes.
Thunder: He wields magical rods too. The Holy Rod fires holy magical, the Star Rod fires beams of light, and the Moon Rod fires small cresent moons, and with the Shield Rod, Alucard can get unique skills with certain shields, like with the Alucard Shield he becomes invincible, absorbs life and hearts on contact, and cause massive continuous damage to enemies!
Metroid: He has other weapons too, like the Fists of Tulkas, which are fire shooting gauntlets, a pair of dual wieled chakrams, and Magic Missiles...which are just magical arrows.
Thunder: Talk about false advertising...but you know what isn't false? The effects various armors give! He has a Dragon Helm that increases his power, and apparently is scary enough to lower enemy defense! And remember the Shield Rod? Well, other shields have other effects.
Metroid: With the Shield Rod, the Iron Shield summons dual sword. Axe Lord shield summons an Axe Lord to fight for him, the Skull Shield summons skulls to fire a laser, and the Dark Shield calls down meteors.
Thunder: He even has cool armors! The Brilliant Mail increases his sub-weapons powers, Fury Mail increase his power when hit, the Axe Lord armor transforms him into an Axe Lord, the Alucard Mail resists fire, ice, and lightning, and God's Garb gives him incredible defense!
Metroid: In terms of cloaks, there's the Blood Cloak, which rewards him with hearts if he's damaged. The Crystal Cloak makes him semi-invisible, and the Twilight Cloak also grants incredible defense.
Thunder: He even makes those dorky accessories cool! Staurolite makes his cross weapon stronger, Laurin's Ring makes him stronger in general, the Bloodstone increases his revovery with blood drinking, Mystic Pendant let's him recover magic faster, and the Heart Brooch reduces the hearts used for his Sub-Weapons.
Metroid: All those, he can switch between on the fly. Switching Sub-Weapons are trickier for him, though, and they do use Hearts to utilize. But they do give him aid. They can range from simplistic, like throwing knifes and axes...
Thunder: To Holy Water that bursts into flames, a Rebound Stone that bounces everywhere, a Cross that boomerangs back, a Bible that is...really having a bad spaz.
Metroid: Agunea can summon thunderbolts, Vibhuti scatters damage dealing ashes, and the Stopwatch can stop time. Although, it's effects may vary, as some can still move but just slowly, and some are not even effected.
Thunder: And then there's the Relics, like the Jewel of Open, which can open seals, the Gravity Boots which let him high jump, the Godspeed Shoes which let him flash step, the Ring of Vlad which makes him smarter, the Heart of Vlad, which makes him immune to Curses, the Rib of Vlad, which increases his constitution, the Nail of Vlad, which makes him stronger, and the Eye of Vlad, which makes him luckier! Oh, and a snorkel to breathe underwater.
Metroid: Alucard can summon Familiars, creatures that can fight alongside him. The Devil familiar can attack with its spear and perform elemental attacks, or a faerie that can give him healing items, even Life Apples that can resurrect him instantly after dying.
Thunder: He's got a Skull Ghost familiar that attacks by floating around and letting out ectoplasmic explosions, and heals Alucard by draining life from targets. There's the Sword familiar which flies around slashing, and Alucard can even use it as a weapon, and summon two! And then the Bat Familiar, which rams into foes and whenever Alucard turns into a bat, starts simping.
Metroid: Now it's important to note Alucard is half Vampire. He lacks usual vampire weaknesses, and is immortal in terms never aging. He's even immune to diseases, can levitate, and absorb blood via telekinesis or his fang. Albeit he admits to not liking the taste...
Thunder: He's also resistant to many crazy powers, time stops, soul Manipulation, Reality Warping, Hellfire, Mind Manipulation, Curses, Death Inducement, and even fucking Existence Erasure, like what?!
Metroid: He can enhance his speed to move fast enough to appear as if teleporting, manifest wings to attack or get extra air, and summon spirits to act as barriers. And he has a plethora of magical skills too.
Thunder: He can seal foes away, enchanted his weapons with hellfire, and know skills like Dark Metamorphosis, where he passively absorbs blood with a touch after wounding foes, launch fireballs, teleport, shoot dark lightning, and even turn into a wolf that bites and rams, a bat that use echolocation and fires fireballs, and a mist form that's poisonous.
Metroid: He can even steal souls from targets. Speaking of which, he has a bizarre ability to negate regeneration and Resurrection, to negate Death's regeneration, which can bring it back after being erased from existence while being the abstract concept of Death, and has permanently killed fast healing and resurrecting beings before.
Thunder: And then there's Alucard's strongest attack; Infernal Blade, where he covers his sword in fire, slashes his opponent up, then slashes through them...then they explode behind him!
Metroid: Needless to say, Alucard has what he needs to ensure his dad's rampage won't go unchecked. He's capable of taking on and matching death in speed, and Death is capable of killing distance itself to attack a victim immediately.
Thunder: And he also fought and defeated the Time Reaper, who was gonna destroy time across the Castlevania Multiverse! There's the main universe, Chaotic Realm, the Demon Castle, the Abyss, Heaven, the Astral Plane, the Time Rift, the 10 Grimores, and 19 alternate timelines! And Alucard took hits from like a champ and even slayed the Time Reaper!
Metroid: Ultimately, after having his father several times, there was a permanent conclusion when Dracula's Castle and magic was sealed in a Solar Eclipse. With that, Dracula's final Death came.
Thunder: But he was instead reincarnated into Soma Cruz, a teen who believes in the power of friendship. So Alucard now had a new role; he took up the name Genya Arikado, and joined a Japanese agency to keep watch over Mr. Cruz!
Metroid: Acting as a mentor to what is essentially his father if he was just better than he was before. Alucard's life was filled with alot of strife, but by 2035, while demonic threats are still on the rise, he's got a chance to breathe just a little bit easier.
Prelude[]
Metroid: Alright, the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Thunder: It's time for a Death Battle!
Pre-Fight[]
April 12th, 1:30 AM
The full moon was in the air, in a foggy forest. The greenery was oddly absent of any signs of life.
At least until several footsteps were heard.
Genya Arikado was going through the forest, looking for any signs of creatures of the night. Reports of a dangerous dark energy signature was found, and coming from the edge of the forest.
Sensing the magic getting stronger, Arikado narrowed his eyes. He wasn't sure what it was, but he knew it wasn't Soma succumbing to his powers; he checked on him earlier and he was fine at school.
So another force of darkness was growing...
He ran through the forest, and past several trees. When he emerged, no longer was Arikado standing there.
Instead, Alucard had come back.
Meanwhile, in another side of the forest, someone else was making their way through. Unlike Alucard, he was whistling nonchalantly, spinning his pistols in his hands.
It was Dante, the Son of Sparda. "So, this leads to that weird demonic sighting, huh? Well, hopr this job pays well." Dante quipped, causing strolling through the forest.
As he kept walking, he heard something nearby and pointed his gun at it. "Mind showing yourself before the trigger gets pulled?" Dante asked, as soon, Alucard stepped out.
"What brings the likes of you to this place?" Alucard spoke as Dante shrugged.
"Oh you know, taking in the sights, doing some cardio. What's a guy like you doing here?" Dante joked before firing back.
"I'm here to investigate the rumors of dark forces. Not many know of this forest except demons and hunters. Which one are you?" Alucard spoke, as Dante shrugged.
"And if I say I am a demon?" Dante asked, as Alucard narrowed his eyes.
"Then I'll have to do business with you." Alucard said, drawing his sword...then suddenly Dante fired his bullets.
Alucard swiftly slashed them back, Dante charging forth with his word and clashing. Sword strikes ran through the air, before Dante frontflipped and landed behind Alucard, both quickly entering a blade lock.
"Oh this is gonna be fun!"
Fight[]
Both half human kept clashing blades, sparks flying through the air as they kept clashing. Dante would occasionally pull out Ebony or Ivory to fire at Alucard, but the Dhamphir was quick to evade.
Alucard performed a Dash with a wing, passing Dante and throwing several knives at the Devil Hunter casually deflected them, but one struck him in the heart.
Dante simply ripped it out and threw it away.
Pulling out Ebony and Ivory, Dante leaped back, firing a barrage of bullets at Alucard. The Alucard was quick to swipe past each one, before switching to the Masamune, Dante pulling out his sword again to clash blades in the middle of the air for a short period of time before they both kicked each other away.
Landing with a grunt, Alucard casted out fireballs that flew towards Dante. The Half Demon grinned, slashing through each one before charging out and performing a Stinger, Alucard barely blocking with his shield.
Bashing the Shield into Dante's face, he stabbed him in the stomach before igniting his sword ablaze with Hellfire, then slashing through, leaving Dante to burn.
"Now to investigate that source..." Alucard spoke, before hearing Dante speak.
"Hey, come on, leaving the party early?"
Looking over, Alucard saw Dante dusting off the flames, his body healed from the injury. "I suppose I'll have to be more thorough." Alucard noted.
Pulling out the Stopwatch, Alucard attempted to stop time, but noticed Dante was only slowed. Drawing Crissaegrim, Alucard lunged, slashing at Dante and causing blood to fly......until Dante snapped his fingers.
He activated Quicksilver. With that style in place, he took another slash, knocking Alucard back. "Heh, haven't used this in awhile." Dante noted, before dashing forth, spinning his sword around as Alucard was forced into defense.
Alucard gritted his teeth, before swiftly using the Crissaegrim to disarm Dante. However, Dante instead spin kicked Alucard, before drawing his Balrog Devil Arm.
Hitting a tree, Alucard stood, just to see Dante aiming to kick in his neck. Drawing the Fists of Tulkas almost instantly, Alucard grabbed Dante's leg, punched him into the air, then slugged him across the forest.
Dante quickly recovered, and propelled himself forward before dealing a haymaker...that Alucard blocked. Both clashed gauntlets several times, punches thrown, and sparks flying as they covered their gauntlets in powerful flames. Their clash came to end when both slugged each other across the face, sending them tumbling across the dirt.
Dante managed to land next to his sword and grab it, before throwing it at Alucard, the sword barely missing. What didn't miss was the dropkick Dante performed, sending Alucard flying.
Pulling out his sword with telekinesis, Dante put it away before pulling out Ebony and Ivory. "And bullseye!"
The two supercharged bullets launched forth. Alucard quickly planted his foot into the ground, before launching a magic missile that collided with the shots, causing an explosion that dispersed the fog around them.
Alucard jumped forth, casting a dark lightning lightning bolt down to Dante. Dante, not deterred in the slightest, switched to Trickster style to seemingly teleport to Alucard, guns pointed at him.
What Dante didn't expect was for Alucard to turn into a cloud of mist, passing by him while slightly poisoning him. When he reverted, Alucard summoned the Alucard Spear, electricity cackling. He threw it forth, piercing Dante through the neck as he was violently electrocuted.
Not one to stay down, Dante pulled himself up through the spear, before he grabbed it and well, threw it to Alucard. "Nice spear." He said, before whipping out King Cerberus's Bo Staff form. "Now check out mine."
Alucard picked up his spear, before lunging and attempting to strike. Dante spun his Bo Staff, leaving a trail of flames, before striking the staff, elements flying every which way. While Alucard was going for the kill quick, Dante continued going for flashy strikes. After a bit of spear and staff clashes, Dante shifted to King Cerberus' nunchuck form and slamming them into Alucard's face.
Quickly leaping back, Alucard switched to the Dark Shield and wielded the Shield Rod, before casting down meteors.
Dante's response was to chuckle before running through the the meteor shower. "Woo-hoo! Now this is what I call fun!"
Once Dante got close to a small meteor, he slashed it with his sword, before kicking the two pieces back at Alucard who was forced to shield himself from the attack.
"Enough of this!" Alucard declared, shooting down at blinding speeds and slamming Dante into the ground. "SOUL STEAL!"
Magic began to cover Dante, before he felt as if he was being sapped of energy. It didn't take a genius for him to realize Alucard literally meant to steal his soul.
So he suddenly released a burst of energy, Alucard flying back. The Dhamphir looked up, seeing Dante fly up...in Devil Trigger form.
"Guess I gotta get serious." Dante noted, before summoning Swords Formation. Alucard's response was to merely summon the Sword familiar and draw the Muramasa.
Within a blink of an eye, they clash again, Dante and Alucard going blow for blow for blow. The Sword Formations would strike too, but the Sword Familiar fended them off.
"That all you got? I fought tougher demons when I just started my business!" Dante spoke, before plunging his sword into Alucard's stomach, making him bleed...but Alucard just plunged his sword into Dante.
As much as Alucard would rather not...he drank the bleed that came from Dante's wound, then kicked him into the Sword Familiar. Before he could impale on it, Dante formed the floating swords of his into a shield to block the stab.
"That all you got, Dracula?" Dante questioned, as Alucard put a hand behind him.
"You're wrong in many ways."
Within moments, Alucard began to chuck out numerous crosses, axes, and Rebound stones. The volley of projectiles came closer, as Dante simply took there...and Royal Guard his way through.
Seeing his opponent shrug off the attack, Alucard pulled out a bottle of Holy Water, throwing it at Dante to engulf him in flames. It worked, as Dante seemed to slow down. So Alucard charged forth, sword in hand...
Just to be caught off-guard by a shotgun popping out of flames and blasting him point blank. Staggering back, the Dhamphir looked up to see the Half-Demon come out fine....and switching to wielding dual buzzsaws.
Dante blasted forth, spinning around while attempting to cut down Alucard with the saws. Alucard leaped away, pulling out the Star Rod and Moon Rod and firing beams of light and crescent moons forth.
Dante's response? Turn the buzzsaws into a motorcycle and ride it all the way to Alucard, swerving past all the projectiles.
Frowning, Alucard transformed into a wolf and leaped towards Dante, knocking him off the bike and slamming him into the floor, before biting down on his neck...before Dante kicked him from the side?
When Alucard turned around, there was another Dante! Dante had activated Doppelganger style without him noticing, and one was wielding Kalina Ann...and one wore a hat?
"You take care, alright?" The hat Dante said, before the other lifted Kalina Ann and fired a barrage of missiles, Alucard slashing through each one before they exploded gloriously...just to get stabbed by a bayonet that reeled him in.
The Dante with Kalina Ann headbutt him, knocking him to the floor before the one with the Hat Dr. Faust, shot various Red orbs, causing Alucard to bleed heavily.
The Dante with the Kalina Ann kept slashing with the bayonet, while the Dante with Dr. Faust kept bombarding him with Red Orbs. Alucard kept bleeding, his breath getting ragged.
Until he activated Soul Steal. While Dr. Faust Dante survived, the Doppelganger didn't and collapsed.
Alucard turned to face Dante and charged, but Dante rose a finger up. “May wanna look upwards, bud.” Alucard didn't reac…..until he heard something falling. Looking up, he went wide eyed at seeing a Red Orb Meteor down.
Shaking off the shock, Alucard caught it just as it was about to crush him. After a bit of struggle, he teleported away, and struck the meteor, sending it flying towards Dante…
Just before a giant flash occurred, destroying the meteor. Alucard watched as the smoke cleared, revealing Dante in his Sin Devil Trigger form.
“So you reveal your true form.” Alucard spoke, as Dante cricked his neck.
“Yeah, I know, shocking. But hey, as fun as this was, I got a job to do and I don't want to waste time.” Dante retorted.
“Then let us end this charade now.” Alucard declared.
Dante blasted forward, grabbing Alucard by the face before dragging him to the sky. He would slash at him, sending him soaring…but Alucard shrugged off the pain and went for a blow of his own, one that got parried.
Tossing Alucard aside, Dante launched fireballs and electrical projectiles after the Dhampir. Alucard charged forth, slashing each one before reaching Dante.
A flurry of slashes occurred, before blood bursted…out of both combatants. The blood rained down to the forest below, as both charged at each other again.
More wounds opened, and more blood spilt. The battle raged on with both half humans determined to take the other down. Soon enough, Dante slammed his fist into Alucard's stomach, before sending him flying.
"Alright, time for the grand finale!" Dante yelled, before performing the Judgement technique. A nearly unending series slashes occurred, and Alucard was grunting more and more with each one.
Soon the final attack from Judgement came; a giant explosion. Alucard let out a final scream, and once thee job was done, Dante dropped, victorious.
"And no garlic needed." Turning around, Dante got ready to continue his job...just to hit by another sword slash that forced him to double over.
Looking behind him, Alucard was alive and not worse for wear! Slashing Dante up, he leaped into the air, preparing to perform Infernal Blade.
Dante was left dazed, but when he saw that Alucard was coming his way, his sword red, Dante only had enough time to say "Oh shit."
Alucard slashed through, and a red flame was left in Dante's chest. Alucard landed, and put his sword to the side. The heat increased...and Dante simply, yet surprisingly, grinned.
"Not bad, pal. Not bad."
The explosion that went off after completely engulfed the Devil Hunter. Alucard took a glance behind him, seeing that nothing was left of Dante.
After that clarification, he nodded to himself, and took off.
Results[]
Winner's Screen: Alucard looks behind him, before walking to continue his search for this unknown dark energy source.
Loser's Screen: Dante's sword falls from the sky and plants itself into the ground.
Thunder: Well, at least he doesn't have to worry about that debt now. Metroid: This match up was a bit of a headache to deduce. Ultimately we decided to set it with three categories; Physical Stats, Versatility, and Powers.
Thunder: And in physical stats, Dante was overshadowed! Sure he can fight Mundas, who created a universe, and get a potential 20x increase with Sin Devil Trigger, but Alucard can fight the Time Reaper, who can destroy 19 alternate timelines, alongside 10 alternate universe and several universe sized structures. That's way more than 20!
Metroid: Speed was even worse, as while Dante has traveled at speeds that make him massively faster than light, Alucard can fight Death, who can kill distance itself to catch up with a target. So all in all, physical stats ultimately go to Alucard.
Thunder: But Versatility goes to Dante. Sure Alucard has all those weapons, but they're mostly the same; a sword here, projectiles to yeet, etc., and all. But when it came to Dante, he had way more variety!
Metroid: Not just swords, but guns, gauntlets, motorcycles, weaponzied headwear, nunchucks, he had a lot more on his person. Dante would take Versatility.
Thunder: So then it came down to powers, and it got a little more complicated.
Metroid: Dante's regeneration was a more than what Alucard can do, as Alucard needed a healing item to achieve any effects. However, both of them have ways of nullifying regeneration.
Thunder: But Alucard could also nullify Resurrection! Not only that, he can even resurrect himself with a life apple thanks yo the Fairie Familiar, so Dante may do a Death or Glory attack just to get greeted by a returning Dhampir.
Metroid: They both could seal each other, but Alucard's Jewel of Open could break him out off Dante's seals, while the Son of Sparda had no such option. Both can move faster enough to appear as if teleporting, but Alucard actually CAN teleport.
Thunder: Dante did have some stuff that could be a pain; the Devil Trigger transformations definitely are way better than what Alucard's transformations could bring into the fray. But Alucard had once ability that screws Dante over.
Metroid: The Soul Steal spell. While Dante is able to shrug off alot of damage, attacks that harm the soul are something he's very susceptible to. While Devil Trigger can protect him from that, it's a limited time option.
Thunder: So really, Alucard had so many ways to put Dante six feet under. Soul Steal, Sealing, or just brute force!
Metroid: Dante was a versatile opponent, but Alucard's sheer power, absurd speed, and far more effective abilities put an end to the Devil Hunter.
Thunder: Luckily, Dante wasn't a soul loser. At least Alucard will be continuing his Rebellion!
Metroid: The winner is Alucard.
Alucard (Winner):
+ Far better stats overall
+ Resurrection Null
+ Better hax
= Healing Nullification
- Less Versatile
Dante (Loser):
+ A bit more variety in weaponry
+ Transformations
= Equal Healing Nullification
- Weaker and slower
- Susceptible to several instakills
