Daisy vs Waluigi is the second Off-Season battle by BuzzLightyear12345 pitting Daisy from the Mario series against Waluigi from the Mario series.
Description[]
These two Mario stars have been reduced to spin-offs for quite some time. Time for that to change for one of them.
Interlude[]
Boomstick: Ah, the Mario series. The one franchise Nintendo will never stop milking.
Wiz: The influence this series has placed on the company is massive, and with characters as famous as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser and Yoshi, it's easy to see why this series has been a hit for all these years.
Boomstick: But not everyone in this franchise has earned Nintendo's respect, mostly relegated to fill up character slots or if push comes to shove, they just flat out forget about them! And these two are no strangers to this treatement.
Wiz: Princess Daisy, the ruler of Sarasaland.
Boomstick: And Waluigi, Wario's sidekick/brother/tennis partner/whatever the hell he's supposed to be. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to anaylze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Daisy[]
Wiz: During the 90's, for whatever reason, Nintendo decided that Peach shouldn't be the only princess Mario has to keep an eye on on a daily basis. Enter Daisy, the princess of Sarasaland.
Boomstick: She's basically just yellow Peach...Not only that, but after Mario DID save her from Tatanga, she never really had any significantly important roles ever again, since Nintendo was like, "Eh, fuck it, let's just keep using Peach". She mostly just exists in this weird void where she's only needed for the sports and party games. Oh, and she's in Smash for some reason too. They must've been running out of ideas for that one.
Wiz: As we were saying, Daisy may be only relegated to the spin-offs, but she's defintely picked up on a few tricks during her time in the sports and party scene. Being one of the more light-weighted characters, Daisy's surprisingly speedy, being seen as one of the faster characters playable alongside Yoshi and Toad.
Boomstick: And just like her name implies, she's got a thing for flowers, like her Wonder Flower, allowing her tennis racket to grow petals and use the...power of flowers to...send the ball back at the opponent. That sounded a lot cooler in my head.
Wiz: Daisy's also got the ability to summon hearts, which create a shield of sorts for her that allows her to absorb any projectile thrown at her and fling it right back at the opponent. She's also able to create bubbles, allowing her to tank damage for a few minutes and practically become invincible to attack.
Boomstick: She can do all of this? These Mario characters and the weird, out of nowhere abilities Nintendo gives them, I tell ya. One day, I swear they're probably gonna give Bowser the ability to make black holes or something as his special move.
Wiz: They already have.
Boomstick: Oh, son of a-!
Wiz: Daisy also appears to be able to use flowers in her baseball and basketball game, with techniques such as the Flower Ball and the Flower Shot. The Flower Ball allows Daisy to throw a baseball covered in flowers which locks onto its target, and the Flower Shot basically allows Daisy to summon petals around her as she...shoots a basketball.
Boomstick: These abilities are incredibly lame, aren't they?
Wiz: She IS a spin-off character after all. It's not like we were going to get much from this.
Boomstick: Well...uh...let's see...ooh, she's also able to make crystals! With her Crystal Smash, she can summon crystals around her and create a temporary shield of sorts to protect her! That's something, right?
Wiz: I...guess?...She also has her Smash Bros moves due to her inclusion in Ultimate, which are...basically just Peach's. She can summon a Toad to counter a hit, float around with her umbrella, slam her rear into you and pull turnips from the ground and occasionally bomb-ombs. Nothing too special, but it's something. Lastly, she also has the Torpedo Kick, which is a flying kick that makes opponents dizzy if hit by her.
Boomstick: Daisy's been participating in most of the Mario Parties since 3, in fact, in that same game, she was able to slap Bowser into a mountain with just one hit too!...Although this was before he got any of his better feats.
Wiz: She was in Super Mario Run as an unlockable character, meaning she was able to get through platforming and face Bowser. And by facing Bowser, I mean just jumping over him and pulling an axe from under his feet. Not exactly fighting, but she was somewhat able to defeat Boom Boom and keep up with his Koopa Clown.
Boomstick: We're actually counting that? Isn't that just a dinky mobile game?
Wiz: Yes, but it gives feats, like it or not, which is exactly what our job is. For her weaknesses, she's short tempered, has very low combat experience, cocky, and honestly doesn't have enough to scale with the impressive feats of some of her comrades, such as Mario and Luigi. Even in Smash, she's not exactly a fighter and has to resort more on using sports related equipment to stand a chance.
Boomstick: Doesn't help that her voice sounds like chalk on a chalkboard. I swear, if I have to hear "Hi, I'm Daisy!" one more time..
Wiz: But nevertheless, Daisy's defintely shown herself to be one of the most feisty Mario characters time and time again, no matter what event she's partaking in.
Death Battle Card Closes
Waluigi[]
Wiz: Waluigi...has no backstory. One day, he just showed up to play tennis with Wario and the Mushroom Kingdom just accepted it. According to Nintendo, apparently Waluigi was training in the shadows in jealousy of the Mario Brothers the entire time, and was waiting for the perfect time to appear. Why he went to Wario of all people for guidance is beyond me.
Boomstick: No need to glorify him, Wiz! Let's just get right to the point...the poor guy's entire existence is filler! He's only there because Wario needed a partner to play tennis with. What makes it even sadder is that he wasn't even created by Nintendo to begin with, he's the only Mario character that was created by Camelot! I'm not sure if I should pity the guy or laugh at him.
Wiz: Admittedly, Waluigi's creation is something laughable and confusion at the same time, which...kinda fits him. Waluigi's known for his wacky, childish behavior and the amount of crazy and oddball abilities Nintendo's given him during his years in the sports and party games.
Boomstick: He's a pro at tennis and golf, in fact, he loves both sports so much that he decided to use a tennis racket and a golf club to hit people with! They function exactly how you think they would, except they probably hurt a lot more than if an average person did it.
Wiz: Waluigi's also adept with Bomb-Ombs, a weapon he's known for using alongside his partner that are known to explode upon contact. He's also got access to probably one of the most disgusting abilities we've seen in this show, the Whiskered Eggplant. Once the opponent is hit by it, the opponent, as described by the game, will "lose their lunch", and vomit uncontrollably.
Boomstick: And they say Wario is the gross one! Mother of god!
Wiz: Speaking of his oddball abilities of earlier, Waluigi's able to teleport short distances, swim in the air with Swimming Return, and spin like a tornado with his Whirluigi. He's surprisingly also a master of vine creation, able to use it for his Wall-Luigi technique where he creates a vine barrier and makes him move faster.
Boomstick: And here I thought this guy was going to be lame! I change my mind, this dude's amazing! How come they couldn't be this creative with some of their other characters?
Wiz: They...probably didn't have any idea on what to do with Waluigi to begin with, so they just gave him whatever they could think of.
Boomstick: Speaking of out of nowhere abilities, Waluigi's also capable of electric manipulation somewhat with his technique known as the Drop Rocket! With this, he slams into his opponent with full force, electrocuting them and probably breaking a bone or two. Ouch.
Wiz: Like his opponent, Waluigi's survived all of the Mario Parties except for 1, 2 and Advanced, and he's even managed to knock out Bowser in a fight. Although this was during Bowser in his early years before he was able to achieve his greater feats, at the time, Bowser has survived lava and explosive bombs without a scratch, so the fact that Waluigi was able to take him down so quickly is quite impressive.
Boomstick: He's also tanked a stadium sized explosion with Wario, a castle sized explosion with Wario, strong enough to bury people with his own stomps, and can even outrun black holes...although this is something that Daisy's capable of too, so it's not exactly as impressive as it would've sounded in another fight.
Wiz: He's also the Mushroom Kingdom's best dancer and almost took over the whole kingdom with the Music Keys, but that didn't really go well for him. He was even smart enough to create his own island filled with explosives and traps too. However, despite this, Waluigi's short tempered, clumsy, has somewhat of a reliance on Wario although he can take care of himself, and has his occasional moments of stupidity.
Boomstick: And the chances of him being in Smash are practically a joke at this point! Seriously, a basic Mario enemy and Mario in a doctor suit got in before he did! They've been doing my man dirty, Wiz!
Wiz: You said this about King Dedede as well, didn't you?
Boomstick: Yeah, but that was before he got electrocuted to death..Waluigi's the one I'm devoting a religion to now!
Wiz: I need a new co-host.
Death Battle Card Closes
Pre-Fight[]
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle!
Death Battle[]
It was a sunny day one afternoon as the entire Mushroom Kingdom could be seen watching the grand finals of the annual tennis tournament held each year there. The competitors were Daisy, who was being rooted on by everyone, and Waluigi, who was being rooted on by....nobody. Wario, his partner, wasn't there at the moment due to some complications involving a certain duck, but that's for another day. As the match reached its final point, Daisy could be seen landing a successful serve past Waluigi, giving her the final point as she could be seen cheering for joy.
Toadsworth: "And the winner of our 7th annual tennis tournament goes to Princess Da-"
Just then, out of sheer rage, Waluigi could be seen walking up to Daisy, practically shoving Toadsworth out of the way as he went straight up and personal to Daisy.
Waluigi: "Wah! You didn't deserve that! You're a cheater! Waluigi is the real winner here!"
Daisy: "Nuh uh! I won fair AND square! Oh yeah! I'm Daisy! I'm the best! I'm better than yo-"
Something inside Waluigi snapped. With that moment, he proceeded to up the anty and punch Daisy in the face, knocking her down as she rubbed her face. She got back up, now just as angry as Waluigi was.
Daisy: "Hey, what gives?!"
Waluigi: "You make Waluigi angry! If I can't beat you in tennis, Waluigi will just have to beat you here instead!"
Daisy: "And how do you plan on doing that, the game just ended, dummy!"
Waluigi: "Like this! Wah!"
Waluigi puts up his dukes. Daisy, immediately realizing what was going on, puts up hers, the crowd staring in awe as the two prepared to fight.
FIGHT!
(Cue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHyc9B1aj1I)
Daisy, wanting to end this quickly and enjoy her trophy, throws a punch at Waluigi. However, to her surprise and the surprise of the audience, Waluigi easily avoided this and responded by kicking Daisy right in the chest, sending her sliding back. The purple Anti-Luigi charges at Daisy, swinging his tennis racket at her face, landing another brutal hit on the Sarasaland princess, before another swing to her chest, hurting her even more. Just as Waluigi attempted to land a right hook to her face, Daisy quickly countered by slamming her rear into Luigi's rival, sending him away. Daisy quickly starts pulling turnups from the ground and chucking them at Waluigi, who smacks them away and starts throwing Bomb-Ombs at her to retaliate. With a smirk, Daisy puts up a Heart shield, reflecting the bombs straight at him. Waluigi could only stare in horror as the bombs exploded right in his face, creating a decent sized crater as smoke and soot covered his face, the audience laughing at him and only filling him with more anger.
Daisy: "Hah! Give up now, you big poser?"
Waluigi: "WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Out of sheer anger, Waluigi began air swimming towards Daisy and quickly leaps down to try and slam her, Daisy quickly countering by summoning a Flower petal racket to block his attack. Daisy leaps in the air and slams Waluigi into the ground, before attempting to summon more flowers to attack the purple partner of Wario. Filled with even more rage and hate for his opponent than ever, Waluigi does a drastic move and teleports straight behind Daisy and punches her in the back, laughing in glee as he proceeds to slam her into the ground, continuining his assault by stomping her violently into the ground, burying her into it, before ending his combo by swinging his golf club into her with a full strike, slamming her into a wall.
Crowd: "Ooooooooohhh...."
Waluigi: "Heh heh heh! Waluigi's got an idea!
Waluigi proceeds to take his idea into action begins to run incredibly fast, creating a vine barrier behind them to keep him and Daisy trapped. Realizing Waluigi was beginning to slow take an advantage over her, Daisy sprung to her feet and smashed her fist into the ground, creating a giant crystal barrier that immediately breaks Waluigi's vines and slams the tennis menace away. Waluigi, shaking off this assault, shakes his fist in frustration as he pulls out more Bomb-Ombs to try and hit at Daisy, the princess once again smirking as she uses her Heart shield to reflect them back.
Daisy: "Trying to do the same trick again? Hah, you really never learn, do you?"
Waluigi, ignoring her comment, realizes her Heart's trick and quickly knocks them back with his tennis racket, sending the Bomb-Ombs flying back towards Daisy. Daisy looks into the air and knocks them away once more with her own tennis racket, launching the Bomb-Ombs into the air. Landing in between them, the Bomb-Omb goes off unexpectidely, blasting both the princess of Sarasaland and the partner of Wario flying into the walls. However, unlucky for Daisy, she proceeds to cartoonishly bounce off of the net and launch herself right where Waluigi was. Taking complete advantage of this, the purple prankster jumps into the air and slams straight into her chest with his Drop Rocket, landing a brutal hit on the princess as they crash into the ground.
Waluigi: "Waluigi will show you no mercy!"
Waluigi leaps into the air and attempts another Drop Rocket, attempting to slam straight her with the exact same force as last time. Unfortunately for Luigi's rival, Daisy quickly sprouted a bubble to block Waluigi's attack, protecting herself and knocking Waluigi away. Trying again, Waluigi ran straight up to the bubble and began to rapidly swing at it with his tennis racket, doing anything he could to try and break Daisy's shield, only for him to be greeted with Daisy's rump slamming into his chest, sending him sliding back. Daisy then uses her momentum to her advantage by charging herself with energy before slamming into Waluigi with her Torpedo Strike, Waluigi yelping in pain as the two slammed through multiple walls of the tennis stadium, not only breaking Daisy's bubble barrier due to the sheer force of her attack but also knocking the two outside. As the two crashed outside, both were heavily wounded and bleeding, but got straight back to their feet, neither one wanting to give up.
Daisy: "I've just...about...had it with YOU!"
Waluigi: "Waluigi's feelings are mutual with yours, cheater!"
Daisy and Waluigi charge at each other, matching each other blow for blow, their attacks practically matching one another as they both attempted to gain the upper hand, using any means necessary such as their fists, legs, tennis rackets, etc. Eventually, Daisy managed to win out by using a cheap shot from her Toad, countering Waluigi's kick and sending him away. As Waluigi gets to his feet, he's met with a punch to the face by Daisy, causing a tooth to fly out of his mouth. Daisy then proceeds to uppercut Waluigi into a wall, before attempting to rear slam him once more. This time, however, Daisy's attack missed, Waluigi moving out of the way as he turns the tables on the Sarasaland princess, hitting her with a kick straight to her abdomen, causing Daisy to howl in pain as she clutched her stomach.
However, Waluigi didn't stop there, oh no. The purple Anti-Luigi continues by punching her in the face twice, then kicking her into the wall once more, unleashing a flurry of hits on the princess, Daisy's face practically bleeding like crazy with each strike Waluigi gave her. As Daisy was practically on her knees, Waluigi proceeds to make the pain even worse by hitting her with his Whiskered Eggplant, Daisy unable to avoid it due to her present condition. As she began to lose her lunch, several Bomb-Ombs could be seen planted around her. As Daisy looked up every so often from her puking, she could see Waluigi's evil grin staring at her as the Bomb-Ombs surrounded her.
Daisy: "Bleugh...bleugh...Waluigi...why...."
Waluigi: "You brought this on yourself! Waluigi is sick of being humiliated and treated like a loser by everyone! And to think I actually had feelings for you at one point! Good bye!"
Waluigi proceeds to walk away from where Daisy was, the Bomb-Ombs going off in a massive explosion, taking Daisy with them. When the dust had been cleared, all that remained of the Sarasaland princess was the broken remains of her crown.
KO!
Results[]
Boomstick: He did it! The man actually did it! I knew he could do it! The religion of the Wah prevails!
Wiz: This battle was INSANELY close, probably the closest battle we've covered on this by FAR. We'll have to explain this outcome down bit by bit as the results were too close to call. For strength, Daisy and Waluigi's best strength feats both revolve around Bowser. While Waluigi was able to knock out Bowser in a brief scuffle, Daisy was able to practically one shot Bowser by slapping him into the moon, giving her the strength advantage, although Waluigi's feat was almost as impressive and he defintely wasn't too far behind.
Boomstick: As for speed, Daisy was able to keep up with Bowser's Clown Car, something able to travel through different worlds in just a matter of seconds, meaning she defintely was much faster than Waluigi was. However, Waluigi's shown to be able to keep up with her in most of the sports games, meaning he defintely wasn't far behind in that category as well. As for durability, Waluigi had this thanks to being able to tank stadium sized explosions with minor injuries. With strength and speed going to Daisy and durability going to Waluigi, you'd think Daisy would have this in the bag, but that's FAR from the case.
Wiz: What hindered Daisy the most in this fight was her lack of combat experience. Daisy's only true experiences of combat are her slapping Bowser into a mountain, which was a one time feat and happened before Bowser got his better feats, and Smash Bros Ultimate, which even then she's forced to rely on sports equipment and Toads to help her defend herself. With Waluigi, the man not only took on Bowser in a direct fight, but was able to take on Luigi head on in boxing, went through three Smash games as an assistr trophy and has been said to have been training behind the scenes far before he ever officially debuted.
Boomstick: Sure, Daisy's got speed and strength, but it's not even by much and with little to no combat experience under her belt, it's not like she'd be able to properly use these advantages to begin with, especially with that cocky attitude of hers!
Wiz: Exactly. Strength and speed are useless if you hardly know how to fight to begin with. Waluigi was not only a far more capable and experienced fighter, but with Daisy not nearly having any tools or strength to put Waluigi down to begin with, she wasn't able to use her advantages to their fullest and as a result, it cost her the fight.
Boomstick: Looks like Daisy really WAH-sn't prepared for this fight.
Wiz: The winner is Waluigi.
