Description[]
Classic Sonic vs Mega Man (Sega vs Capcom) These blue heroes have been saving the day since the 80s/90s, but today we will see which classic versions of them can take home the gold.
A couple of notes before we start:
- Hyper Sonic won't be included and i'll slightly refrain myself from scaling Classic Sonic to Modern Sonic.
- Mega Man won't have Archie scaling.
Interlude[]
Cue: Death Battle: Wiz and Boomstick (Official Theme Song from the ScrewAttack Series)
Kirbo: Classic Sonic, the iconic Blue Blur created by SEGA.
Demo: Classic Mega Man, the iconic Blue Bomber created by Capcom.
Kirbo: Throughout the classic era of video games, many characters became popular in the genre, but when it comes to these two, they're the most known blue heroes to ever be.
Demo: Being the mascots of SEGA and Capcom respectively, they had a very interesting rivalry back in the day, but it's now the time to see which classic ends up prevailing, He's Kirbo and I'm Demoman!
Kirbo: And it's our job to analyze their Weapons, Armor, and Skills to find out who will win a DEATH BATTLE!
Classic Sonic goes Mania in Death Battle![]
Kirbo: Welcome to the beautiful valley of Green Hill Zone, a place located on South Island where many creature live in harmony and prosperity, the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and-
Demo: And a very evil scientist known as Dr Ivo Robotnik comes to bring tyranny amongst that peace and quiet! Everybody run for their lives! All hope is lost! The end of times has commence!
Kirbo: Now, now, there's no reason to panic! There's still hope, every good villain needs a hero that foils their plans.
Demo: How exactly? i really don't think those creatures can put a fight, much against a guy who's body is build like an egg.
Kirbo: I'm not talking about them, i'm talking about a certain hero born on Christmas Island, a hero that could face evil head to head without any fear whatsoever, The most iconic hedgehog that has been running fast since the 90s, this hero was no other than... Sonic The Hedgehog!
Demo: it's actually quite surprising how a simplistic cartoon hedgehog managed to gain such large fanbase.
Kirbo: Let's look at a little retrospective, originally he wasn't the official mascot of SEGA, that title belonged to Alex Kidd, but due to his unpopularity, he needed to get replaced
Demo: Good thing they did, if it wasn't for that, SEGA would have never give competition against the Powerhouse that was Nintendo back in the day, specially with the mascot of their own, Mario.
Kirbo: Thanks to Nintendo's huge popularity, SEGA needed someone to represent him as soon as possible if they wanted to step into the game, with the help of Naoto Ohshima and Yuji Naka, they created the Hedgehog we all know and love.
Demo: And oh boy he really became loved by many people, upon his game released, it was the start of a great console wars that would last for years, until a new challenger entered the ring, sadly for SEGA they couldn't continue with the console market and decided to become a Third-Party developer, but that wasn't the end of Sonic as a whole.
Kirbo: Down but not out, SEGA still produced several sonic games in the following years, some good, some bad, and others... yeah we don't talk about this one...
Demo: Yeah sure, Sonic games had very mixed opinions every time they release, but let's face it, seeing Classic Sonic along Modern Sonic side by side was badass.
Kirbo: Yep, that's right! Sonic meet... himself! quite a surprise but i guess that was a good idea for the 20th Anniversary of the franchise.
Demo: But all those things aside, there's one thing everyone can agree on... Classic Sonic didn't deserved to be in Forces.
Kirbo: For the love of God, please don't start!
Demo: I'M ABOUT TO DO IT!
Kirbo: NO-
Demo: Before we start with the abilities, items and forms, it's safe to say that we will only include things about Classic Sonic only, and not the Modern version of himself, with that aside, let's check what he has.
Kirbo: First we have the most iconic attack that Classic Sonic can do, The Spin attack, a move where he curled into a ball while rolling along the ground, it's sound simple, but combining that with extremely high speeds can be quite deadly, specially if this can destroy large things like boulders and metal robots
Demo: This move also has multiple variations like the Spin Dash, it's the same as the Spin Attack, but in this one Sonic rolls in place while charging up and then dashes forward very fast.
Kirbo: We have the Spin Jump, a variation where of the Spin Dash that can attack enemies Mid-air.
Demo: And finally the Drop Dash, a move where he drops down in ball form before landing and charging up a Spin Dash.
Kirbo: To tally up with the Spin Attacks, we finished off with the Homing Attack, a mid-air spin attack that targets whatever enemy is near Sonic, although you may think only Modern Sonic can use this technique, Classic Sonic can also do it, at least in the 3DS version of Sonic Generations.
Demo: Alright, with the Spin Attacks done, we know move out to the others techniques and abilities, first we have the Insta-shield, a split second shield that can be created to slash enemies and items within Sonic's range, pretty useful to protect yourself from small projectiles.
Kirbo: We almost forgot the most important trait of Sonic as a whole, his Speed, being the Fastest thing alive, Classic Sonic can go at incredible high speeds, and can easily reach light speeds, and even dodge lasers, and with the Super Peel Out he can go faster than his normal speed.
Demo: Have you ever wondered where does Sonic keep all of those rings and items he collect in every level? Well thanks to the Hammerspace he can store multiple things at once without any problem.
Kirbo: The most known item he has are his rings, because of the fact you practically collect a huge ton of them in every level, plus they have a variation that's blue, the main purpose of them is to prevent their holder from being defeated and from something else we'll mention later.
Demo: Classic Sonic has a varied collection of shields too, he has a fire shield that can negate damage and make a fiery Spin dash, the Water Shield helps him do a bounce jump and breath underwater, The Thunder Shield that allows him to attrack objects, be inmune to electric hazards and double jump, and finally the Invincibility shield that well... invincible from a short period of time.
Kirbo: If you want to go even more fast, Classic Sonic has a few shoes to do so, with the Super Sneakers he can increase his maximum jump height and maximum speed, with the Screw Shoes he can propel himself underwater, and the Rocket Shoes helps him glide in the air, kinda like another hedgehog...
Demo: And also he does have a few friends that can help him, like the wisps, a group of powerful aliens that grant Classic Sonic powers, although he doesn't really use all of them like his modern counterpart, he can use the Pink and Red one, the first one gives him a hot pink spiky ball form that let him stick and climb up walls and ceilings along with pierce enemies, and the second one turns him into a red fireball to give him limited pyrokinetic abilities.
Kirbo: but within all of those items and abilities he has, there are some special objects that allow him to go even further beyond, when harnessing the power of 7 chaos emeralds, Sonic not only gains a new form, but unlimited power, say hello to Super Sonic.
Demo: Yep, that's the equivalent of a Super Saiyan in the Sonic universe, very cool actually, but let's get in depth about this emeralds, not only Sonic can use them to transform, but they also have several abilities individually.
Kirbo: The Blue one can creates clones, the red one turns you into a fireball, the cyan one liquifies you, the green one grows a vine, the purple one allows you to uncover things naked to the human eye, the yellow one slows down time and the white one gives Sonic the Homming Attack.
Demo: The emeralds hold a special power called Chaos Energy, it's a type of mystical energy only these have and it was stated that even one emerald can hold unlimited power, want a example of this? well how about the time one emerald manage to shift an entire continent.
Kirbo: And Sonic uses the 7 of them, meaning he gains a lot of power when doing so, and also the ability to fly, which can be more useful than rocket shoes.
Demo: Good luck trying to damage Classic Sonic because in this form he has full on invincibility, meaning any sort of damage thrown to him will just barely even scratch him, not even God-like beings managed to do that.
Kirbo: Given the super forms are strengthened by positive emotions, it safe to say that Classic Sonic have enough positivity to power the transformation very well.
Demo: You know the drill, when a character has an OP super form, their power will greatly increase, this is the obvious reason why Classic Sonic's strength, speed and durability skyrocket to space.
Kirbo: We almost forgot his new techniques when in Super form, we have the Super Sonic Spinning which is a mid-air charged chaos energy attack that consist in shooting himself forward as a powerful projectile, and the Super Sonic Boost, a move where Sonic strikes the enemy at high speeds in a fiery aura.
Demo: Before we move to Classic Sonic's feats, i'll be back in a second.
Kirbo: Wait, where are you going?
Demo: I'm going to grab a drink while wearing my new sneakers i bought.
Kirbo: Are those Sonic's shoes-
(Demo leaves in a blur of red and brown, before returning to the set with an alcoholic drink)
Demo: I'm back, look Kirbo! I bought a delicious Piña Colada from Puerto Rico, want a sip?
Kirbo: Ummm... no thanks.
Demo: Alright now let's actually move on to Classic Sonic's feats, and oh boy he pack a lot of them.
Kirbo: In Sonic CD, Classic Sonic manages to break the chain links of Little Planet with a spin dash, after doing some calculations that round up to over 1.3732998E+22 Joules! And remember that he did that in his base form.
Demo: this Hedgehog also has some durability feats out there, like the time he survived the explosion of the Death Egg Robot, this equals an entire city block, which can go from 11 to 99 Tons of TNT.
Kirbo: Speaking of Eggs, Classic Sonic has defeated Eggman countless of times over the years, and he even did that alongside Modern Sonic, two time as the matter of fact.
Demo: Another powerful enemy Classic Sonic has faced is the Phantom King, who was empowered by the Phantom Ruby at the time, the ruby is able to make create dimensions such as Egg Reverie zone and the Null Space, the latter has been stated to be infinite in size and go on forever.
Kirbo: Moving on, let's go to Eggman once more, he's also able to damage the Egg Mobile, doesn't sound quite impressive, right? It is if you consider this vehicle managed to survive a black hole and came out with just a few scratches.
Demo: And now it's time for the most impressive feat he has, defeating the Time Eater with the help of Modern Sonic.
Kirbo: The Time Eater is no other than a supernatural creature with dominion over time and space, and of course it has the ability to destroy it thanks to various statements and dialogues.
Demo: Plus they confirmed both Super Sonics fought this being through time, putting both at Immeasurable speeds.
Kirbo: But beyond how Sonic may be an unstoppable force, this little hedgehog also has some weaknesses on his back, such as his inability to swim.
Demo: If you ever wondered why Sonic can't swim, it's because Yuji Naka assumed hedgehogs couldn't do that, and thanks to that we have anxiety in form of music!
Kirbo: Even if Classic Sonic has come and gone in various adventures, he lack proper experience compared to yet again, his modern counterpart, this also applies to his abilities, so you won't see him using moves like the one shown in Sonic Frontiers for example.
Demo: As much as he likes to go fast, Classic Sonic sometimes tends to just lose balance when running, especially in sudden halts, and finally, Super Sonic doesn't last forever, it can only last for 16 minutes, or even less if he doesn't have enough rings, but the latter is just a game mechanic, so it's pretty difficult to determine it.
Kirbo: Although our favorite hedgehog may have some flaws, that didn't stop him for saving the world countless of times, giving everyone in the world the gratitude of having a hero that saves the day.
Demo: Watch out evil-doers! because this blue hedgehog will go around foiling your plans, and he won't slow down until everyone is saved.
Sonic: With a little courage, I can do anything!
Classic Mega Man Rocks Death Battle![]
Kirbo: The year is 20XX, and humanity was about to take one of their greatest step of all time, all thanks to a scientist called Doctor Thomas Light, who develop Artificial Intelligences that mimicked humans.
Demo: But when robot with self-awareness are added into the mix, you know that something really bad will happen, and it did! Dr. Light's partner, Dr Wily, decided to throw all that peace and harmony to the trash and began his plan to take over the world, because of jealously.
Kirbo: He reprogrammed those robots and commence his evil plan, it looked like he was unstoppable, but fortunaly Dr Light had a solution to this.
Demo: Light upgraded one of the bot prototypes, one with the name Rock, a robot with a strong sense of justice and volunteer to become a super fighting robot.
Kirbo: And thus with just some upgrades here and there, Rock, was ready to go into the action and protect mankind from Wily's evilness, from that day, Rock became known as Mega Man.
Demo: Hey Kirbo, are you sure you have the right script? I thought your first line was: The Year is 20XX, the Sun is a strobe light, life is now a never ending rave.
Kirbo: No Demo, that line is from something not related to Mega Man.
Demo: Oops, my bad.
Kirbo: Anyways, Mega Man has been a fairly big franchise over the years after his creation in 1987, thanks to Akira Kitamura, he became the ultimate mascot of the company Capcom, replacing their previous one called Captain Commando.
Demo: He's not the only mascot, there's also Ryu from Street Fighters, but he's more like an unofficial mascot.
Kirbo: With the success of the first game, it came many more that would follow up, up to 10 classic Mega Man games, not to mention the multiple version of the character, like Mega Man X, Volnutt, EXE, Star Force, and... this thing.
Demo: All in all, Mega Man was the biggest success Capcom ever had over decades, but sadly in the year 2011, everything was going to crumble apart for this franchise.
Kirbo: Due to cancellations of various Mega Man games like Universe and Legends 3, the franchise took a very dark path, at least for Classic Fans, it took over 8 years for a new game of the classic era and with the arrival of Mega Man 11, everything went back to normal.
Demo: Jeez, so they pretty much neglected their own mascot.
Kirbo: Yeah that was a real bummer.
Demo: But hey! We got him in Smash Bros! which is something at least.
Kirbo: Going to Mega Man's arsenal, thanks to becoming a robot designed for combat, he gained various weapons, the main one being his Mega Buster, an arm cannon that shoots yellow shots of energy and it can even fire a fully charget shot.
Demo: And that's not all, Mega Man contains a tool called Variable Weapons System, which allows him to copy the data of fallen enemies to gain their weapons as his own, giving him plenty of weapons to use, we'll say a list of what he can use.
Kirbo: For projectiles he has saw blades with Metal Blade, a downwards fist with Hard Knuckle, a block of concrete with Concrete Shot, an explosive bouncy ball with Mega Ball, a meteor storm with Astro Crush, A projectile magnet with Magnet Missile, a volley of three bouncy balls with Bounce Ball and even a freaking Black hole with the Black Hole Bomb!
Demo: He doesn't fall short in terms of elemental powers too, he can use fire that reaches 12.000 degrees celcius with Atomic Fire, an electric shot that splits in two with Spark shot, an ice column that can be pushed with Ice Wall and create multiple tornadoes with Tornado Blow.
Kirbo: Mega Man also has some explosive stuff on his arsenal, like bombs that bounces with Napalm Bombs, bombs that can float and stick together with Chain Blast and a projectile that can be shoot forward and latches onto the enemy before exploding with Crash Bomber.
Demo: Good luck trying to land a hit on him cuz he doesn't lack any type of defense, like shields made of Skulls, Energy, Globs of Acid and even Leafs.
Kirbo: And to finish up with his weapons there's a few Miscellaneous ones, he can do a dash and shoves enemies off into an explosion with Pile Driver, a flame sword, a crescent-shaped beam of energy straight forward with Slash Claw, a rotation for both offense and defense with Top Spin, a hologram that shoot forward with Copy Vision and Mega Man can even stop time with Time Stopper
Demo: Just like a certain vampire boi.
Kirbo: Enough with the Jojo references Demo, we already had two episodes about that.
Demo: Worth a shot i guess, anyways, thanks to Mega Man 11 he got a very useful feature called the Double Gear System, he gains the Speed Gear which makes him move so fast time practically slows down, Althought this could be just a gameplay feature, and the Powe Gear which increases the power of his arm cannon, he can even activate both gears at the same time.
Kirbo: but out of all the weapons and gadgets Mega Man has, he's capable of obtaining a new form called Super Mega Man or Super Adaptor form, he can obtained it when he combines his powers with Rush, his fellow robotic canine.
Demo: Thanks to this super form he has he obtains some jets that help him fly around everywhere, plus it can even boost his general abilities to a higher level, although it limits his moves due to the bulkiness of the suit
Kirbo: And when equipped with the super adaptor his Charge shot gets replaced by rocket punch called named Rocket Buster, which is kinda similar to some previous abilities we mentioned, but it's a good thing nonetheless.
Demo: That also reminds me, i have a similar thing to the Super Adaptor.
Kirbo: Wait, for real?
Demo: Just watch.
(He summons a giant scrumpy battle and transform into his own super adaptor form, made entirely out of scrumpy bottles)
Kirbo: huh that's new...
Demo: As a Super Fighting Robot, Mega Man does live up to that name with his feats, for example he has the strength to carry a 60.000 ton tower on his back.
Kirbo: Not only that, but he's also able to witstand the crushing gravity of the planet Jupiter, which is 2.4 times more heavier than our gravity on earth.
Demo: Going to reaction speeds, he's able to react to Wily star's Ion cannon, that can reach speeds faster than light
Kirbo: Speaking of Wily yet again, Mega Man straight up defeats him every time, but this doctor ain't no joke since he survived an explosion visible from outer-space, that's a great feat for someone who's considered human.
Demo: And not to mention he pretty much fought multiple robots throughout the whole franchise, like Quick Man who can run at light speed, Duo who can flight also at light speed and create a planet-sized shockwave with Evil Robot, and even Sunstar who destroyed the Wily star.
Kirbo: Although as much as a fighting Robot he can be, Mega Man has some flaws that can ruin that imagery, such like being powered by sunlight all the time, meaning is he's fighting in places with little to non sunlight, he's put in a very tight situation.
Demo: We know his weapons are cool and all but there's a slight problem, he has limited ammo to them, meaning if he want to use them again he needs to refill them.
Kirbo: If you haven't noticed, Mega Man is still technically a child, so his mentality isn't that mature, and he can be quite naive sometimes.
Demo: He's also a pacifist, which is very respectable since he originally wasn't designed for combat, but he'll only fight if it's absolutely necessary.
Kirbo: And if you're wondering, no, he can't use multiple special weapons at the same time, so he's stuck using just one until he runs out of ammo or decides to switch to another one, but even with all of those flaws, Mega Man it's not someone to take easy.
Demo: You can do whatever to stop him but he won't back down, that's why he's Mega Man, the Super Fighting Robot.
Mega Man: No, you're wrong! I only fight when I am forced to protect the world from those who would pit machines against man. I believe humans and robots can live in peace!
Intermission[]
Kirbo: Alright, the combatants are set! We've run the data through all possibilities.
Demo: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!
The Fight[]
Location: Stardust Speedway.
In the huge lighted city of Stardust Speedway, zipping across the golden highways, jumping around like a pinball with the help of multiple springs, crossing platforms and going full laps on giants loops, a blue blur ran towards a badnik and destroyed it with finesse, out of it emerged a flicky who flew away while chirping. The one who saved him was no other than the Fastest Thing Alive: Sonic the Hedgehog, his classic version to be more specific.
The Hedgehog smirks at his little good deed and took a good look at the city nightfall, multiple neon light could be seen lighting the absolute beauty of the city down to darkest corners of it, after taking his time, he reposition himself in a racing position once again and dashed away. Elsewhere, from out of the sky a light beam came down onto the ground, teleporting what it seems to be a boy wearing a blue armor, although this kid wasn't one to be taken lightly, especially due to his big arm cannon on his right hand, this kid was actually the Super Fighting Robot Mega Man. He inspected his surroundings, scaning every single inch of the place while looking for something.
Mega Man: That emerald that Dr. Light showed me should be around here...
He took a few steps while looking around, his scanner slowly picking up a signal until finally spotting an energy coming around a corner, he peeked over and found no other than a Chaos Emerald in his whole glory, shining in a bright greenish color, the power of this thing even made Mega Man's scanner go haywire, that surely gave him a slight headache. But nonetheless, he quickly grabbed it and began to walk away.
However, he didn't noticed that someone was watching him from afar, that someone being Sonic, he thought in his own imaginary bubble, a robot stealing an emerald... plus Eggman still on the loose equals... His brain finally dinged, this was definitely a robot send by Eggman to steal the Emeralds!
With this conclusion, he rooled up his non-existen sleeves and ran towards the Blue bomber, in a split second, the green emerald was snatched from Mega Man's hand, surprising him.
Mega Man: Hey! what the?
Much to his surprise, the emerald he had was gone, all thanks to an anthropomorphic Hedgehog, who was juggling the emerald with one hand. Although he went to his fair share of misadventures in the past, he never saw something like this before, or did he? Who knows, the real problem was that he needed that emerald at all cost to finish the mission, he then spoke to the Blue Blur.
Mega Man: You! Give back that emerald or else i'll have to use brute force.
But Sonic didn't respond, instead he placed the emerald in his pocket, or hammerspace to better call it, and crounched down in a fighting position. knowing that the enemy wouldn't comply, Mega Man had no other choice that to fight, he aimed his arm cannon and charged an energy ball.
Mega Man fired the energy ball towards Classic's direction, he immediately side stepped out of the way pretty easily thanks to his speed and dashed forward, he lands some fast-paces hits on the Blue Bomber, staggering him back, he fires a few yellow pellets in hopes he'll get a lucky shot, but due to the Hedgehog speed he doesn't get the opportunity.
Sonic comes to a halt and crouches down, he curls up into a ball and shoots forward, crashing against Mega Man and sending both of them to the ground below. Both blue heroes were split apart and landed on different moving platforms, Classic Sonic got up first and jumped onto Rock's platform to deliver a flying punch, however, he gets a huge surprise when two metal sawblades are launched into the air, he maneuver his body as quickly as possible, causing the blades to past inches away from him while cutting a tiny bit of his fur, suddenly, Mega Man jumped on top of him and aimed his fist down before firing it like a rocket, socking Classic Sonic right in the face and knocking him down below.
Luckily, the Hedgehog takes a soft landing on a pit of red springs, he sighs in relieve, but once he gets launched back up, his relieve turns into realization when he gets punch with hard knuckle once more and falls back down, for a few seconds Mega Man hits Sonic multiple times with the same ability, practically using Sonic like a pinball.
Mega Man prepares to use Hard knuckle once more, but this time Sonic curls into a ball again and parries the projectile, at the same time he performs a homing attack mid-air and hits Mega Man before he can do anything, Mega Man flies backwards and falls off the platform, he takes a landing on a spring and bounces off of it to propel himself towards Classic Sonic, both crash against each other in the air and get send to another section of the city. Mega Man recovers and lands on his feet, Sonic also does that as well, he prepares his next move but before he could do that a speeding car almost ran over him, Rock gets startled by this and looks to his side to notice that they were in a highway. Dozens of cars went by at high speeds, barely dodging them, the robot thought quickly and jumped on top of one the vehicles just time, while Sonic also tried to do that but he didn't have the same luck and failed miserably. He got hit full force, and faceplanted into one of the giant futuristic signs of the highway.
Classic Sonic got his head out of the sign with stars circling around him, before shaking his head and seeing a lonely pink wisp beside him, it waved at him innocently, the hedgehog then got a perhaps excellent idea.
Mega Man: Jeez, he really got hit hard.
While resting on top of the vehicle, he heard a sound of drilling getting louder and louder, Rock spotted a pink ball from afar, he squinted his eyes to see it better and saw it approach rapidly while raising chunks of the road off the ground. Playing the same game, Mega Man activates rolling cutter and fires 3 scissor blades towards the transformed hedgehog. Instead of cutting him in half, he destroys the projectiles with ease and keeps moving to approach the fighting robot. Mega Man tries to extend his distance and jumps onto multiple cars to get away while occasionally firing some pellets, but Classic Sonic easily managed to cut the distance between the two and it reaches Rock in mere seconds, the freedom fighter leaps with pink spikes spinning like a chainsaw, he collides, but not against Rock, instead he collides against a shield made of scrap metal, this shield eats the damage and gives Mega Man enough time to fire a charge shot towards Sonic, it directly hits and removes the wisp out of him, he crashes against one of the car's roof and barely holds onto it.
Mega Man fired another charged blast, but this one missed due to the vehicle Sonic was on top on turned sideways, they both approached a split path between the roads and they were separated, Rock couldn't have a clear shot on Classic due to the multiple wavy routes. Finally the roads were united again, the hedgehog quickly leaps forwards and landed on the same car were Mega Man was, the latter went on the offensive and threw some punches, but Sonic just easily dodged them while taunting his opponent in a cocky way.
In one moment he dodged a punch and did a funny face to spite Mega Man even more, but this slightly cost him as he receives a haymaker directly on his face that knock him back and almost makes him fall off the vehicle, but manages to regain his balance, now getting serious he goes for a flurry of punches that Mega Man block with his arms forming a crossblock, he slides back and both prepare to land a fist at the same time, although the moment they were going to do that, the vehicle they were on top on braked unexpectedly, all thanks to a traffic light turning red.
They were flung forward to cover a long of distance before crashing in a big splash, Sonic opened his eyes and found out he fell in a pit full of the thing he feared the most, water. He frantically looked around and notice Mega Man swimming up to the surface while he was sinking below instead. Rock jumped out of the water and turned around.
Mega Man: Alright Hedgehog, you asked for it.
The robot opened a hole in his hand and multiple napalm bombs were dropped to the water, the bombs began to slowly descend until arriving at the bottom, where a very pissed off Sonic was waiting a bubble to come out to regain oxygen, he takes at the look at the bombs and just looks at the camera with a tiring expression.
The bombs went off, blasting a big splash of water upward, Mega Man turned to leave, but he was suddenly hit in the back of the head with a homing attack, he staggered forward and regained balance, to his surprise the hedgehog was unscratched by the explosion. A brief flashback is shown, of Classic Sonic using a bubble shield at the last second before the detonation.
Mega Man acts quickly and converts his two hands into cannons to shoot a burst of flames, they hit, but Sonic began to normally walk through the flames like it was nothing, the flames were dispersed as a fiery sphere smashed against Mega Man, that sphere was Classic Sonic using the fire shield. He dashed around Mega Man a few times, hitting him full force with the fiery spin dash before colliding in front of him and sending the blue bomber crashing through a wall, he bounces and slides to a halt, he notices a giant ring floating behind him and shifts his attention to the hedgehog arriving at the place, the latter ran towards him to land another fire spin dash.
In that split second, Mega Man fired a freezing gel at the same time the hedgehog went for the spin dash, causing the latter to not only lose his fire shield but also get freezed in a block of ice, although the block didn't stop his trajectory and dragged the robot along to the giant ring, they went in and dissapeared in a flash
From a big city landscape we switch to a sunshine tropical island full of nature and tall trees. A giant ring appears above and dropped the still ice encased hedgehog and the robot to the ground. Mega Man easily manages to soft his landing by falling onto a bush, meanwhile Sonic slides down a hill and smashes against a big boulder, breaking his icy prison to bits.
While Classic Sonic was regaining his composure, a vertical slash made of fire cut the boulder in half, the hedgehog jumped away in fear and got multiple slices across his body, charring a little bit of his fur in the process, now equipped with his flame sword, Mega Man lunged towards the hedgehog. The robot took several swings with the weapon, prompting the freedom fighter to go on the defensive and evade it as much as possible.
Classic Sonic backflips away and spotted a red wisp that he could use to counter, he looks back at Mega Man and side steps out of the way before the flame sword could hit him, he quickly jumps and uses the wisp to transform into red burst, the wisp transformed Sonic flew through the air and crashed against Mega Man's flame sword. The robot gets pushed backwards but holds his ground to smack the red burst away, Classic Sonic makes an u-turn and flies at a high speed, Mega man avoids it and the fire hedgehog comes back to attack again.
The two deflected each other's attack back and forth, each strike charring the grass and plants near them to he point it starts to become pitch black, Mega Man quickly fends off Classic Sonic, and to stop his transformation he fires one single water sphere, it gives a clean hit and the wisp expels itself out of the Hedgehog's body, the latter falls flat on the ground, he blinks twice, and gets sliced away with the flame sword, sending him to a palm tree. Mega Man switched his flame sword to his mega buster, and walked where Sonic was before aiming towards him.
Mega Man: You're really persistent, but i'll get that emerald at all cost.
He began to charge his mega buster ready to end the fight but then... Sonic smirked, Rock got confused by this until the ground trembled and a huge vine shot upwards growing at a massive size, the robot's eyes went wide as another vine quickly sprout out and slam against him.
Rock got up and looked up, at the top of the giant vine there was the Hedgehog scratching his nose cockily, he got near the edge of the herbal platform before dropping down. Sonic ran down the vine, while Mega Man wasted no time and fired some photon missiles, the missiles went forward for a second and then redirected themselves to follow Sonic, he swerverd around his run to evade them and the missiles made a quick turn to follow him back down. The Freedom Fighter finally jumped and ran as the missiles divebombed to the ground, creating a big explosion behind him, he approach Mega Man and tackled him. The Blue blur dragged Mega Man across various parts of the island, slamming him against things like trees and rocks before flicking him to an open field.
Sonic didn't finish just yet and connected multiple punches and kicks on the super fighting robot, he punched him up and then axe kicked him down below. Mega Man was having a hard time to keep up the pace and fired a random crash bomber while Sonic was running around him, he felt that something attached itself on his back and looked behind to notice the crash bomber latched onto him.
The bomb exploded on the hedgehog's back and lighted up his butt on fire, he flailed around the ground to put the fire out while screaming internally. Finally the flame went out and the blue blur sighed in relief.
Both fighters stood some meters away from each other, the two glaring with their war face like if they were in a old west stand off, meanwhile the animals who were in the background just prepared to watch the incoming battle and pulled out snacks like popcorns. Sonic slowly extended his arm and snapped his fingers, nothing happened, until dozens upon dozens of clones spawned behind him, each ready to beat Rock to a pulp, Mega Man didn't loose his cool and just cocked his arm cannon in defiance.
Mega Man: Bring it on.
The entire army ran forward, prompting Mega Man to fully charge his mega buster to fire a large beam to get rid of a good portion of the clones, the other ones rammed against the robot and he had no other choice that to activate his double gear, at the same time, Sonic activated the power to slow down time, prompting the chaos around them to move at a snail's pace.
Mega Man shot more energy beams towards Classic Sonic, but he moved around with his legs forming an infinity symbol and smacked the fighting robot with a roundhouse kick to the face, he was thrown off balance and fell on his back, coincidentally time began to move back to normal just as he did that and the Sonics turned their attention to Mega Man, who was about to get up. He immediately got dog piled by the dozens of hedgehogs.
Mega Man sinked due to the huge amounts of clones being on top of him, but with enough determination he prepares a charge shot. From outside, the blast goes off and eradicates the clones near the robot, while the remaining ones sprinted to attack the Blue Bomber he quickly raised his arms above and from out of the sky descended a huge meteor storm, the meteors crashed against the earth to produce a big explosion seen far off into the distance, ultimately killing every single clone in one go.
Smoke emitted out of the affected area as Mega Man reverted his armor to his bluish color, he panted very heavily before recomposing himself and taking the sweat off his brow. Until a slight sound coming out of the rubble catches his attention, the noise becomes louder and louder, it's like something is trying to burst out of it, and just then, seven emeralds surrounded the pile of rubble and with a burst of light, Super Sonic came into the play.
The sheer force of the transformation knocked the blue bomber back, it took some seconds for him to regain balance, and when he could take a good look at the power the hedgehog received, his scanner literally broked. Mega Man had no other option, he summons his fellow companion Rush to achieves the Super Adaptor armor and both fighters took off to the skies.
The golden hedgehog immediately flew towards the transformed blue bomber, prompting him to fly to the opposite direction, they went around different parts of the island in a matter of seconds, Mega Man fired multiple energy blast to slow down Sonic, but he easily tanked the attacks thanks to his Super Form. He dashed forward and tackled Rock multiple times to throw him off balance mid-air, he manages to retaliate and rocketed his fist as a projectile but Sonic just blocked and slapped the fist out of the way. Little did he knew that the fist changed trajectory and hit Classic Sonic on his back.
Sonic was launched to Mega Man's general direction and he corresponded with a wyld haymaker on the hedgehog's face, he recoils back and shakes his head before returning the punch to Rock, who also recoils in pain.
The two began to exchange punch after punch, with each one they ascended more and more out of earth and eventually reached outer space, they prepare to throw a very strong attack and clashed against one and other. The clash created a big shockwave that desintegrated dozens of meteors around them.
Both are pushed back, and Mega Man quickly charges a small orb on his arm cannon, he fires straightforward and the projectile lands a few meters away from Classic Sonic, he doesn't seem it like a threat until the small orb expands to a big size, revealing that it was a black hole. Sonic's eyes go wide and he flies as fast as he can to not get swallowed by the singularity, and just at that moment, Mega Man activates the time stopper, and just as that, time completely stops.
The blue bomber sighs in relief and calmly flew ahead to be in front of the immobile Super Sonic, he took aim to fire a charge shot. But then, Mega Man spots a slight movement, he saw Sonic's twitch a little, and soon enough his body began to vibrate violently until the hedgehog finally frees himself from the time stop and does a critical boost to Rock before he could fire the killing blow.
Time resumes as the attack completely tore Mega Man's super adaptor form off and he was rocketed down to orbit, Super Sonic follow through and dived down to catch up to the blue bomber. As a last ditch, charged every single energy he had left in his arm cannon, putting it to maximum energy.
Mega Man: TAKES THIS!!!
The arm cannon releases a gigantic beam strong enough to engulf the golden hedgehog and even the moon in it, which was promptly destroyed. Super Sonic was pushed back by the attack, he put his arms in front of his face to protect himself as he was very slowly trying to get his way through the beam.
He curled into a ball once again and channeled enough chaos energy to propel forward for a spin dash, his spin dash becomes more and more greater until reaching terminal velocity and splits the beam in half!
Rock gasp in surprise and doesn't have time to get out of the way before Sonic smashes against him at great speeds, sound of metal scraping can be heard as a few chunks of Mega Man are ground due to the Spin dash drilling through him. Both spiked against the ground, generating a huge nuclear explosion that destroyed part of the island below.
After the explosion, the smoke is cleared and the once golden hedgehog untransforms to his blue self, he lands on his feets and takes a look around the crater created by the explosion, and slightly winces in fear when a peace of metal falls to the ground, that peace being Mega Man's detachted arm cannon. With the robot slayed, Sonic does his signature victory pose, before running off the scene.
K.O![]

Demo: Dammit Sonic! You broke an important rule, finders keepers!
Kirbo: I don't think he knows about that rule, Demo.
Demo: Still! Anyways, speaking of the battle itself, it wasn't a complete stomp on Sonic's favor for the most part, but Mega Man did have some advantages on him, let's look at the stats real quick.
Kirbo: In strength, Mega Man had the advantage in a physical sense due to being strong enough to lift a 60.000 ton tower and being comparable to other robot masters like Duo for example. While Classic Sonic isn't that strong physically, he still had enough power to have planetary levels feats like the time he broke the chains of little planet in base form.
Demo: If we talk about speed it's an easy point for Classic Sonic here, the dude goes at the speed of light on a daily basis for crying out loud! Of course, Mega Man could hold his ground against the hedgehog thanks to scaling to Quickman who can run at that same speed, but once Classic Sonic turned Super... well, the speed difference became very clear.
Kirbo: Durability comes in and both are mostly at the same level, in base form both could tank many powerful hits and still come back for more, very balance if you ask me, but if we compare the durability of their most powerful forms, Super Sonic takes it due to his incredible invincibility.
Demo: In Experience, it goes slightly more to Mega Man, while Classic Sonic has been to his fair share of adventures, he's still generally inexperienced compared to his modern counterpart. Meanwhile Mega Man has been programmed to be super fighting robot at a young age, but it could be argued for either side.
Kirbo: Other point that Mega Man gets is his arsenal for sure, his standard items alone beat Classic Sonic's whole arsenal of item boxes and wisps he has on his disposal.
Demo: But now we get to the most important category, who's stronger? Classic Sonic's Super form or Mega Man's Super adaptor armor, and to be honest the comparison is quite easy to get around, once the hedgehog turned gold, it was practically game over for the blue bomber.
Kirbo: The Super form not only held an absurd advantage over anything Mega Man could throw at the blue blur, but also just outstats Mega Man in every single category possible.
Demo: The only way Mega Man could beat Super Sonic was either trap him into the black hole bomb or wait until the transformation is over, and these were literally impossible to do all thanks to the great gap of speed.
Kirbo: You may be asking how could Classic Sonic not be affected by Mega Man's time stop, and to be fair, counting the fact that he battled the Time eater through time along Modern Sonic and that the chaos emeralds are capable of also controling time, there's no denial he could resist it.
Demo: the final nail on Rock's coffin was that he had much more exploitable weaknesses compared to Classic Sonic, yeah sure he can't control his speed sometimes, but that's ultimately better than Mega Man potencially dying due to using too much power at the same time.
Kirbo: Mega Man was a very impressive super fighting robot, but at the very end, he couldn't outlast the blue blur.
Demo: Mega Man just couldn't rock, and ended up dying against Sonic's Mania.
Kirbo: The Winner is Classic Sonic
- Winner: Classic Sonic

Trivia[]
- The connections between Classic Sonic and Mega Man are that they are both the first and arguably most iconic versions of SEGA and Capcom's flagship series' mascots, Sonic the Hedgehog and, of course, Mega Man. The Sonic and Mega Man series also have a friendly partnership with one another, represented by both the promotional handshake between their American box art art styles to celebrate the release of Mega Man: The Wily Wars for SEGA Genesis and the Archie Comics crossovers, Worlds Unite and Worlds Collide.
- The fight was originally made by The Lone Reploid, but it was later adopted by Elajios89
