Interlude[]

Wiz: Chaos, the God of Destruction and water-based enemy of Sonic the Hedgehog.

ChaosIntro

Boomstick: Kyogre, the legendary Pokémon who controls the seas of Hoenn.

KyogreIntro

Wiz: In this vast world, nothing is more prominent or essential than water. But while this common liquid helps nurture life, it can be turned into a force strong enough to destroy it.

Boomstick: Especially when it's controlled by ancient entities that some madman REALLY shouldn't have woken up. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And its our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Chaos wreaks chaos on Death Battle![]

Popup: Spoilers for Sonic Frontiers will be in effect.

Wiz: Long ago a race of extraterrestrials known as the Ancients scoured the stars in search of a new home. Their journey led them to Mobius where they discovered a massive gem of unbelievable power: the Master Emerald.

Boomstick: And with their new gemstone as a cornerstone they built themselves a utopia. But just like our degenerate society of millennials, the Ancients got lazy and devolved into Chaos which I’m pretty sure were SEGA’s attempt at a marketable plushie.

Wiz: Well I wouldn’t mind getting a plush of Omoch-

Boomstick: NOT HIM!

Wiz: Ok… As adorable as the Chao were, they were also weak and needed a protector. They needed someone who could be as gentle as the rain yet fierce like a hurricane, and one Chao would prove to be just the protector they needed.

Boomstick: This little guy loved hanging around the Master Emerald that he picked up a bit of magic gem radiation.

Wiz: That’s what happens when you go near anything glowing and green. Basic safety tip.

Boomstick: Don’t remind me. Of course this stuff didn’t kill him, it awoke the Ancient genes within him and turned him into a big blue monster made for chaos. And what better way to flex that kind of power than by having the name: Chaos.

ChaosBackground

Wiz: Despite his name, Chaos was a peaceful creature who only wanted his brethren to live in peace. However, their most valued treasure, the Master Emerald, would prove their undoing as many enemies would seek it out including the warmongering Knuckles Clan who wanted the power of the Emerald to fuel their desire for conquest.

Boomstick: And since said Emerald was surrounded by pudgy fairy babies, they really didn’t see a problem with invading and killing every last Chao in sight. Yeesh! To think they didn’t look like monsters already. I mean echidnas do look a bit freaky with those four heads on their-

Wiz: BUT THE REAL MONSTER HAD YET TO AWAKEN! The Knuckles Clan didn’t account for the presence of Chaos, and upon seeing his fellow Chao slaughtered, he unleashed his wrath through the latent powers passed down by the Ancients. Despite the water-looking appearance, Chaos’ body is actually made of pure chaos, which is not a pun by the way, they literally said that. And yet he possesses all the properties and destructive potential of water itself.

ChaosGetsMad

Boomstick: Wait, he isn’t made of water!? I had a feeling it wasn’t though you probably don’t want to know what the second guess was.

Popup: Descriptions in Sonic Battle state that Chaos uses ‘water elementals’ or ‘the power of water spirits’ to attack.

Wiz: With this unique body, Chaos can morph his body however he pleases for devastating attacks. He can stretch his limbs to fight at a distance, turn parts of his body into lethal spikes, become a giant blob to crush his enemies, or flood the battlefield using his own body.

ChaosStretch

Boomstick: And if something were to hit back, it’s no big deal. Chaos’ body can easily be torn apart and then put itself back together in seconds. He can also throw parts of his body to use as watery landmines that whip anything that touches them. Plus it gets weirder when you add his ability to burrow underground and glide through the air.

ChaosAbilities

Wiz: That’s nothing. Chaos can punch the ground so hard it causes earthquakes, create destructive ripples in midair, recover his stamina through Chaos Heal, and with his Chaos Bind technique he can freeze the air around his enemies, completely immobilizing them. Needless to say, Chaos was more than capable of wiping out the Knuckles Clan all on his own. The hell he unleashed upon them ended up being so devastating that the clan started referring to him as the God of Destruction.

ChaosBind

Boomstick: You know you hit the big time when people start thinking you’re a literal god. But with all respect, Chaos didn’t hate all those deadlock-loving savages. He ended up befriending a young clan member: Tikal who liked the Chao and really hated the idea of conquest. Basically she’s the hippie black sheep of the clan.

Wiz: Tikal and Chaos got along very well and became close friends. Though when the clan attacked, Chaos lost himself to his anger and became a monster. The loss of so many Chao blinded him and he got dead set on exacting his revenge on everything in sight. Unable to bear her friend’s loss of heart, Tikal sought out a way to protect both the Knuckles Clan and Chaos from this rage.

Boomstick: So she cut the ties of their now toxic relationship and sealed him in the Master Emerald, and got the clan to act as its protectors for millennia just to make sure that thing NEVER got out.

TikalSealsChaos

Wiz: That is until everyone’s favorite gelatinous genius Dr. Eggman learned of Chaos’ existence and broke Chaos out of its prison with the intent of using the monster for world domination.

Boomstick: Makes sense that he needed a water monster since his arch-nemesis Sonic has a very rough history with water…

The infamous time limit music starts going off

Boomstick: Oh god! It’s starting! Where’s the air bubble!? Where’s the air bubble!? I’m running out of time here!

Wiz takes out a phone and pushed a button ending the music

Wiz: Sorry, that’s just my new ringtone.

Boomstick: Ha ha… yeah… I knew that… Anyways, Chaos was now freed from his emerald prison and ready to wreak havoc on the world once again. But to compete with the Blue Blur is no easy task. He needed loads more power to keep up and luckily his Ancient ancestors just so happened to have made a perfect power-up that suits Chaos perfectly.

Wiz: These are the Chaos Emeralds, supernatural gems containing extraordinary amounts of energy. Their power is so incredible that they can even be used to warp the fabric of space and time itself. And with Chaos Emerald Chaos absorbs he can achieve new forms for increased power and new abilities.

Chaos2

Boomstick: By taking a dose of double emerald, Chaos becomes the steroid-buffed Chaos 2. This gigachad is way stronger, can fire powerful streams of water, generate electricity to repel enemies, and block them out entirely with forcefields. Think this water beast can’t get any cooler? Well you're wrong because if you double the emeralds you get Chaos 4 who is a frickin shark!

ChaosForms

Wiz: And this form is best suited for traversing aquatic environments. In addition, his long range options improve with energy waves and water twisters. Add another two emeralds to the mix and Chaos can reach the monstrous form of Chaos 6 granting him immense physical strength and a vacuum attack to swallow enemies.

Boomstick: Also with each new form making Chaos bigger and bigger, he’s got more of that pure chaos body to work with. He might be getting a bit fat, but Chaos uses it to his advantage by trapping victims inside his body and redirecting whatever goes inside, effectively nullifying almost any physical attack.

ChaosMissileDeflect

Wiz: Still even with his new benefactor Eggman supplying the emeralds, Chaos ended up being another punching bag for Sonic and his friends. This didn’t hinder his rage however, as Chaos became determined to acquire the power he needed to win and hunted down the last Chaos Emerald for one final transformation. Once all 7 emeralds were in the mix, Chaos evolved into his strongest, most terrifying form: Perfect Chaos.

PerfectChaos

Boomstick: As a giant water-dinosaur-dragon thing, Perfect Chaos was more than capable of wiping out that meddlesome hedgehog. On top of all the abilities of his previous forms, Perfect Chaos is absurdly stronger, can launch volleys of energy blasts, fire giant lasers from his mouth, and summon hordes of “keep your fetish away from me” tentacles. Oh, and of course you can’t forget his mastery over water which he can summon from anywhere in great amounts.

Wiz: The mere presence of Perfect Chaos was enough to flood the city of Station Square almost instantly. It’s even been stated that if Chaos continued rampaging in this form he would eventually destroy the world. This isn’t an exaggeration either given that Perfect Chaos is backed by the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

FloodingStationSquare

Boomstick: Eggman once drained the Chaos Emeralds to power a laser that split planet Mobius apart, and when Sonic recharged the emeralds he used them to put the planet back together piece by piece. It might sound crazy, but since Chaos draws from those same emeralds, he should possess that same kind of power.

ChaosEmeraldMovesContinent

Popup: Super Sonic, who also draws power from the Chaos Emeralds, has fought on par with planet-busting threats like Dark Gaia and The End. As Perfect Chaos has held his own against Super Sonic, this justifies that he is capable of planet-level destruction.

Wiz: Considering how quickly each piece of Mobius was put back into place by the Chaos Emeralds and how much each piece weighs, the total output of all 7 Chaos Emeralds should be worth at least 2.8 Yottatons of TNT.

Boomstick: Imagine the meteor that killed the dinosaurs striking the Earth billions and billions of times over, that’s pretty much the same amount of force Perfect Chaos can exert. If he’s that strong then you gotta wonder how anyone could stand up to him.

Wiz: Well Chaos’ rage is undeniably a force to be reckoned with, but that rage is more like a double-edged sword. Because he was filled with so much negative emotion, he could only absorb the negative half of the Chaos Emeralds, leaving just enough positive energy behind for someone else to use them. With the help of his friends and Tikal’s spirit, Sonic managed to use the emeralds remaining power to become Super Sonic, the only force capable of stopping Chaos.

Boomstick: A teen with gold spiky hair aided by a ghost to kill a perfect being? Where have I heard that before? Granted when it takes the boss-busting trump card that moves near the speed of light to save the day, you know you have one hell of a monster to deal with. And Chaos has kept pace with Sonic in weaker forms so naturally Perfect Chaos could hold his own against something as fast as Super Sonic.

ChaosFeats

Wiz: Chaos has redirected missiles without trying, survived being on an airship as it crash landed, and has overpowered Knuckles, the last member of the Knuckles Tribe without any emeralds on hand. Knuckles is physically stronger than Sonic as well and he shattered a 46 Megaton stalactite in mid-battle, with some help of course.

Boomstick: You know, a guy like Chaos really didn’t need Eggman’s help to fulfill his world destroying plans. He figured that out eventually and decided to ditch Baldy McNosehair for his own benefit. Naturally Eggman didn’t take that well and busted out his laser firing warship to get even. And what did Chaos do? He one shot that thing and blasted Eggy out of his main villain role. The water monster straight up outplayed one of the most iconic baddies in video game history. That instantly earns him a spot in the great book of bada$$ villains.

EggCarrierGetsRekt

Wiz: Yet no matter how powerful a monster such as Chaos may seem, he does have his weak points. Most notably is the brain-like core within his body which can cause Chaos’ body to collapse if hit with enough force and dealing enough damage will exhaust him to a point where he can’t keep a solid form, reducing him to a mere puddle. Also Chaos’ body is extremely weak to cold temperatures so any attack with a freezing effect can solidify his body and render him immobile.

Boomstick: Oh boo hoo, it’s cold outside and you forgot your jacket. Toughen up, you’re a godd*mm force of destruction! Lame weaknesses like that shouldn’t keep you down!

Wiz: Don’t assume those things can truly hold Chaos back. He proved to be a tenacious foe to the bitter end. It wasn’t until Super Sonic used his power to destroy the negative energy within Chaos that the threat from the God of Destruction was finally quelled. No longer driven by rage, Chaos could finally see the pleas of his friend Tikal who showed him that his efforts did pay off. The Chao had indeed survived over the millennia and now lived in peace with the rest of the world. No longer did the water monster have to fear loss or the genocide of his people.

Popup: Sonic Team producer Takashi Iizuka has officially stated that Chaos ascended to heaven after the events of Sonic Adventure. While he does appear again in Sonic Battle, this could theoretically be him appearing as a spirit in a similar manner to Tikal.

Boomstick: *Sniff* Don’t you just love a happy ending? And I guess it was enough to make Chaos give up the ghost and head off with his dear friend Tikal. Still let’s hope the Chaos continue to live in peace, because if there is a chance he’ll come back and things will only end in pure Chaos.

ChaosAscends

Officer #1: Alright, get ready boys!

Chaos slowly approaches and the police start to run

Officer #2: What is it!?

Officer #3: Gaaah! Run!

Chaos starts smashing police cars and comes even closer causing the nearby crowd to run away in panic

Kyogre expands the seas into Death Battle![]

Wiz: Welcome to the world of Pokémon, a vast land full of creatures of many shapes and sizes each possessing unbelievable abilities. Though in this diverse world, there exist Pokémon whose abilities far exceed those peers, commonly classified as Legendary Pokémon.

Boomstick: You may have heard of such legends as the deer that grants eternal life, the fairy dog wielding a giant sword in its mouth, or the genetic experiment that makes for one bada$$ username. But in the Hoenn region, there exists a legend of a beast with sapphire skin that sleeps deep beneath the ocean, and should it be awakened it’s power could flood the world itself. This is the Sea Basin Pokémon Kyogre.

KyogreBackground

Wiz: Standing over 14 feet tall and weighing 776 pounds, Kyogre more than lives up to the legend. It has existed for thousands of years, and according to myth is the creator of the sea itself. While this may be hard to believe, Kyogre’s control of the ocean is far from a bluff as its main ability is to cause downpours so atrocious that they cause the sea levels to rise, causing countless disasters such as hurricanes, massive whirlpools, and disturbances in the ocean currents with just its mere presence.

KyogreWrecksHavoc

Boomstick: Forget the idea that God flooded the Earth for 40 days and 40 nights, chances are he sent this thing to do the job for him. And don’t assume Kyogre isn’t afraid to drown someone to death. The land is basically its natural enemy and he won’t stop until all of it is six feet underwater.

Wiz: Which comes as naturally to it as an artist crafting their masterpiece. As a Water-type Pokémon, Kyogre specializes in generating and manipulating water to devastating attacks. This proves extremely effective against creatures with fire or rock-like properties and even gives Kyogre resistances to water, ice, and metal based attacks.

Boomstick: And Kyogre has plenty of Water-type attacks in its arsenal. It can fire blasts of water with Water Pulse, cover its tail with water to strike with Aqua Tail, fire big water beams called Hydro Pumps, and mix in some mud to launch the Muddy Water attack that can potentially blind foes and lower their accuracy.

KyogreAbilities

Wiz: All of these water attacks are strong on their own, but they receive more backing thanks to Kyogre’s Drizzle ability. Through Drizzle, Kyogre can create rain storms simply by entering the battlefield and they have the unique ability to increase the strength of Water-type attacks. This is especially the case with Kyogre’s strongest water attack: Water Spout, a massive geyser that rains down upon the enemy and completely obliterates them, although the attack does decrease in power if Kyogre stamina is depleted.

KyogreDrizzle

Popup: In recent games, Drizzle’s effects have a limited time span before the weather returns to normal. However, given that Kyogre’s has caused storms that would have eventually grown big enough to drown the Hoenn region, it is possible that Kyogre could create a rainstorm that could last indefinitely.

Boomstick: That’s stupid. I remember that attack being a big game changer at VGC, but nope! One little scratch and that beauty is ruined. Well it’s a good thing Kyogre has contingency plans for this with its healing techniques. By activating the Aqua Ring, Kyogre creates a watery veil that slowly heals wounds over time. Or if he can’t wait that long, his Rest technique restores all his stamina in an instant, at the cost of being trapped in a forced naptime for a while.

KyogreAquaRing

Wiz: A small price to pay for perfect restoration. Yet while water is its specialty, Kyogre has plenty of other attacks as well. It can strike directly using Body Slam or Double-Edge, fire mystical rocks through Ancient Power, slow down enemy movement by making a frightening Scary Face, and with Calm Mind, Kyogre can concentrate its thoughts to increase the power of its energy-based attacks as well as his defenses against it.

KyogreCalmMind

Boomstick: But what better way to compliment your water attacks than with its colder cousin: ice. By using the Ice Beam attack, Kyogre fires a laser that covers its victim in ice or freeze them solid. Though if that power isn’t enough, it’s Sheer Cold attack unleashing a chilling burst that freezes everything around it.

Wiz: Sure the Sheer Cold attack lacks accuracy, but the effects are brutal. Kyogre’s Sheer Cold is stated to be at temperatures of absolute-zero and a direct hit could potentially knock out the target should they be weaker than Kyogre. No doubt that that will give you chills.

KyogreUsingSheerCold

Boomstick: I'll let that one slide... But Kyogre’s personal favorite attack is the Origin Pulse. By drawing from its absolute aquatic energy, Kyogre fires a series of lasers that will pierce through anything unfortunate enough to be in the way. This incredible power would have been more than enough for Kyogre to make the whole world oceanfront property, but unfortunately for this big ol’ whale, he ended up getting an anime rival who could match and counter his power: Godzilla.

KyogreOriginPulse

Wiz: Groudon.

Boomstick: I like my name better.

Wiz: Groudon was an extremely powerful Pokémon who could intensify sunlight and evaporate the seas to expand the earth. Naturally, both Groudon and Kyogre had serious issues with the other and engaged in a battle that shook the planet itself. But in the end neither could bring an end to the other thus Groudon and Kyogre ended up completely exhausting each other into an eternal slumber in which neither would awaken to threaten the planet again.

Boomstick: Until a pirate wannabe named Archie showed up and said: “Hey, since having three-fourths of the planet isn’t enough for water Pokémon, let’s wake up Kyogre and have him expand the ocean to make more room. We’ll worry about the whole drowning us humans part later.” Pretty asinine plan I know, but you gotta admire the guy’s ambition to awaken a giant monster for ecoterrorism.

KyogreReawakened

Wiz: Yet even with a Master Ball sitting in his basement, Archie knew controlling such a Legendary Pokémon wasn’t going to be so easy. Luckily for him, the people who witnessed Groudon and Kyogre’s original battle long ago also desired to keep these titans in check. For that reason they created mystical orbs that could control them, the Red Orb is used to control Groudon, and for Kyogre, it is controlled by the Blue Orb.

Wiz pulls out the Blue Orb and Boomstick looks excited

Boomstick: You’re telling me this thing can control the Poseidon of Pokémon? Gimmee! Gimmee! Gimmee!

Boomstick yoinks the Blue Orb out of Wiz’s hand

Wiz: Give that back, Boomstick! Who knows what trouble you could cause with that thing.

Boomstick: Oh, I know EXACTLY what I’m going to do with this. *chuckles*

Cue a fantasy of Boomstick holding the Blue Orb and do a “Free Willy” parody with Kyogre

Boomstick: Here it goes! Do it, Kyogre!

Kyogre does a big jump over Boomstick who touches Kyogre’s underside before it makes a big splash in the water on the other side

Boomstick: Yeah! That was awesome and just look at that splash! It just gets bigger and bigger an- oh sh*t that’s a tidal wave isn’t it?

The ever growing tidal wave then reaches a nearby city and completely destroys it as Boomstick watches in horror before slowly backing away

Citizen: My leg!

At the end of the fantasy, Boomstick eyes are wide with terror as he hands the Blue Orb back to Wiz

Boomstick: On second thought, it may be better if you hold on to this.

Wiz: Sure, just another thing I could use for world domination. At least it's safer than whatever you planned. Then again, like every other attempt to control a giant monster Archie had miscalculated and Kyogre proved to be more powerful than anticipated. In fact, the Blue Orb actually served as a means to contain its power rather than control it.

Popup: In Pokémon Sapphire and Pokémon Emerald, Archie’s failure to control Kyogre was due to him using the Red Orb by mistake. Granted, when the player calmed Kyogre with the Blue Orb it still attacked them implying that it does not have complete control over Kyogre.

Boomstick: Yup, reunite the whale with his precious gem and it will bring out the ancient powers resting deep within it. Sort of like a mega evolution, no, a Primal Reversion that turns the Sea Basin Pokémon into his true form: Primal Kyogre. Bigger, stronger, and with better energy resistance Primal Kyogre is an unstoppable force of nature. It can cause way more destruction than the normal Kyorge plus it can fly cause why not?

PrimalKyogreTransformation

Wiz: Primal Kyogre is so powerful that given enough time it will eventually flood the planet itself, sinking every inch of landmass and causing armageddon. What’s more is that Kyogre’s Drizzle upgrades to the Primordial Sea ability, creating a much greater rainstorm that can’t be swayed by weather altering abilities and is so intense that all fire based attacks are extinguished the moment they are used.

PrimalKyogreBox

Boomstick: I hate to be the Charmander who gets caught in that crazy weather. Needless to say, there aren’t a lot of Pokémon that can match Primal Kyogre in a fight. Heck, it could even hold its own against Mega Rayquaza who headbutted Grand Meteor Delta so hard that it shattered to pieces. And that meteor was so powerful that if it hit the planet… there would be no more planet.

Popup: Grand Meteor Delta was measured to be 6 miles in diameter, making it the same size as the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. In order for an object of that size to destroy the planet, it must have been moving over 1.5 times the speed of light.

Wiz: Which means Grand Meteor Delta had a total energy output of nearly 50 Zettatons of TNT. Mega Rayquaza managed to overpower it with its Dragon Ascent attack and Primal Kyogre has survived direct hits from that same attack. Kyogre is as tough as they come to the point that the Hoenn region’s Gym Leaders, some of the strongest Pokémon Trainers in the world, couldn’t so much as scratch this behemoth.

Boomstick: Champion-level trainers like Lance and Steven have also struggled against Kyogre. Only its rival Groudon ever gave this thing a decent fight, and when they reunited for the rematch it lasted for weeks and not even a city-sized explosion stopped these two from fighting.

KyogreFeats

Wiz: And the energy of the two emitted during the fight, albeit contained by outside forces, was strong enough to lift Sootopolis City into the sky.

KyogreAirboundsSootopolis

Boomstick: Best accidentally crafted battlefield ever.

Wiz: The power of these titans is something to behold, yet they don’t just match each other in brute force. Groudon and Kyogre can match each other in speed too, such as when Kyogre dodged a Solar Beam from Groudon. This attack in particular harnesses sunlight itself and fires it as a concentrated beam, meaning that Kyogre moves fast enough to dodge a beam of light.

KyogreDodgesSolarBeam

Boomstick: That’s nothing. Lesser Pokémon like Oshawott had a Solar Beam fired at it and had plenty of time to panic before remembering that he could deflect it at the last second. And that goofy otter is at least 20,000 leagues below something like Kyogre.

Wiz: On its mission to purge the world with water and defeat Groudon once and for all, Kyogre nearly tore the world apart in its rampage. But with the combined efforts of humans and Pokémon, they managed to summon the legendary Rayquaza who possessed the ability to calm down Kyogre and put him to rest once again… or they just got a random child to capture it, depends on the version.

RayquazaEndsWar

Boomstick: Granted there are better ways to sink this big a$$ whale since it’s Water-type body can’t handle grass or electricity. So just taser the sh*t out of it or whack it with a big tree and Kyogre will faint after a few good hits.

Wiz: Don’t underestimate this legendary beast. As the people of Hoenn had learned, Kyogre is a true lord of the seas and any that dare stand in its way will be swallowed beneath its waves. For a fight with Kyogre might as well be a fight against the oceans themselves.

Archie: Go, Primal Kyogre! Destroy everything!

Kyogre dives down and leaves the Seafloor Cavern before resurfacing above the ocean.

*Kyogre Roars*

At the sound of its roar, Kyogre reshapes the weather into a massive hurricane that devastates everything.

Death Battle![]

Station Square; This lively megalopolis spends everyday with its many citizens walking about enjoying their lives, whether it’s relaxing at the local hotel, playing at the amusement park, or gambling at the casino. Yes, this city has everything to offer and is always filled with smiles.

Or it would if it wasn’t flooded by 10 trillion tons of water at the moment.

It all happened so fast. Water burst from beneath the streets, it poured out the buildings, and a tidal wave soon appeared to finish the job and drench the city. In the aftermath, Station Square was halfway from being renamed Atlantis with the ground being dozens of feet below sea level. And though several large buildings still stood, they had become completely devastated, barely able to stand up right and large chunks missing from their overall structures (some of which happened to be floating on the water).

Nobody could ever imagine that such a terrible disaster could have struck them so quickly, and that was because it wasn’t a disaster, it was a monster. From within one of the buildings a huge splash of water burst out and started to take shape, concentrating into the shape of a dragon-like creature of pure water with tentacle arms. The creature opened his green eyes and let out a roar that shook the city, letting whatever survivors of his attack know that Perfect Chaos had arrived.

After being sealed away for so long, and fighting powerful adversaries time and time again to acquire the Chaos Emeralds, Chaos had achieved his ultimate form and was ready to finish what he started 3,000 years ago. Everything and everyone would soon feel his wrath and be washed away in a flood of anger.

But not everyone was contemptuous with that, especially the man flying towards Chaos with his gigantic flying battleship. This was the evil Dr. Eggman and after Chaos had betrayed him, he got more p*$$ed than the time Shadow the Hedgehog did that thing to his wife…

*My non-existent intern whispers in my ear*

What do mean that isn’t canon!?

*My non-existent intern whispers more*

What the hell is a Snapcube? *Ahem* Inside the command center of his battleship, Eggman glared at Perfect Chaos, who didn’t even care for the lesser being’s presence.

Eggman: You have defied your master, stupid beast. Now you must be destroyed at all costs! This Egg Carrier 2 was made just for this occasion. And as an extra precaution, I’ve prepared a very special weapon for you.

Eggman’s battleship opened its bow to reveal a cannon which began charging up a bright white light. As the light got brighter, it caught Chaos’ attention as he soon looked over to see what was targeting him. But it was too late, the cannon fired a laser and it hit Perfect Chaos directly.

In an instant, Chaos became enveloped in a bright white light that continuously pulses in on him. The water monster tried to move away, only to find that the light had confined him, rendering him unable to move. Chaos struggled more and more only to find that his efforts were in vain, the doctor had effectively captured him and things were only going to get worse from there.

Eggman: Hahahahaha! I didn’t think I would have this technology perfected for at least another decade, but I guess my genius even surpassed my own expectations. Now you insufferable drip, it’s time you returned those Chaos Emeralds to me!

Eggman activated the laser’s second phase and it made the light tear away the Chaos Emeralds that Chaos had absorbed into his body (and possibly revealed his fetishes too). Without the power of the Emeralds, Perfect Chaos’ body shrank and reverted to his original form; a small humanoid creature with a liquid body possessing a visible brain inside.

Eggman: Excellent! Everything is proceeding exactly as planned! With the power of the Egg Carrier 2 and the seven Chaos Emeralds, nothing can stop me from taking over the world! Hahahahaha!

The doctor thought he had claimed victory at last, but an unexpected alarm soon proved him wrong. He stopped his maniacal laughter to see that the noise came from a radar right in front of him. Upon looking at the radar, Eggman noticed a blip heading towards Station Square. Normally, he would expect it to be that loathsome hero Sonic or one of his equally annoying buddies, though given the large size of the blip, he figured that wouldn’t be the case this time.

Eggman: What the?

Suddenly, a massive geyser of water burst from within the middle of Station Square. The water spewed out everywhere creating an aquatic blur, but soon dissipated to reveal a figure in the center, the one who caused the geyser just by emerging. It appeared to be some sort of whale, yet its skin was a deep blue with red markings, not to mention the two gigantic fins on its side. This was no ordinary creature, it was the legendary Kyogre, Lord of the Sea.

Upon entering the ruined city, Kyogre immediately glared at Chaos. Although the God of Destruction had been weakened and immobilized, Kyogre could tell that he was responsible for flooding the city and his actions had angered Kyogre greatly. Meanwhile on the Egg Carrier 2, Eggman carefully observed the giant newcomer trying to figure out its reason for arriving in such a hostile area.

Eggman: What is this? I’ve never encountered a creature like this before. And yet there is something intriguing about its presence here. Was it perhaps drawn here by Chaos’ rampage? Just what exactly is this thing?

Soon enough, Kyogre decided to eliminate its target and let out a huge roar as it grew more hostile.

Kyogre: Gyrarooooh!

The clouds grew dark as if responding to Kyogre’s command and let out a huge rainstorm that further drenched the already soaked Station Square. With the additional water from the sky, the water levels began to rise even further and the buildings that stood further sunk into the deep below. This was but a fraction of what Kyogre had to demonstrate, and the observing Eggman smiled maliciously as he figured out exactly what was going on.

Eggman: I see now. This creature possesses a powerful form of hydrokinesis as well. When Chaos flooded the city, the creature must have sensed a power struggle and now it's here to establish its superiority. Hahahahaha!

Eggman laughed, excited by this new turn of events. He had not expected a creature as strong as Kyogre to show up, but he saw its potential thanks to the rainstorm and wanted to use that for his own gain.

Eggman: Still to perform such a feat without use of an Emerald… this creature’s power is the perfect weapon for world domination. I must make it a part of my army by any means necessary! Ready all cannons! Open fire!

The Egg Carrier 2’s many turrets took aim at Kyogre, ready to incapacitate the Sea Basin Pokémon so that Eggman could capture it (he could have at least tried the Quick Ball first, but oh well). They let out a barrage of projectiles which came in fast only to harmlessly bounce off the Pokémon’s body.

Eggman: No way! I can’t believe this!

This did, unfortunately, get Kyogre’s attention and it now knew it had to get rid of the spectator before he could move onto the main target. Kyogre used its Water Spout attack and fired a large geyser upwards. The attack tore the Egg Carrier 2 in half and made it explode, and the only thing that survived was Eggman who got blasted into the horizon.

Eggman: Looks like Dr. Eggman is blasting off againnnnnnnnn!

Once Eggman flew out of sight, a small gleam flashed to indicate his disappearance.

Of course, the destruction of the Egg Carrier 2 meant that its beam no longer bound Chaos. It’s captive glow bursted and sent the seven Chaos Emeralds flying to the ends of the city while also setting Chaos, who lay in the center of the glow, down onto a piece of highway that floated in the water.

Chaos quickly recovered, and his rage still persisted. He planned to get those Emeralds back and continue to unleash his vengeance upon the world. But first, he had another problem to deal with.

Kyogre swam over to appear right in front of Chaos, circling the God of Destruction while gazing intensely at it with one eye. The Sea Basin Pokémon became filled with the desire to destroy the water creature and prove that it was the true master of water and not even the destruction of the world would stop it from accomplishing this. Chaos stared back at Kyogre, harboring those same feelings. Neither creature was going to back down now, for it was in their nature to fight until the rival before them had been slain.

Chaos started things off by firing a stream of water from his hands, but it didn’t even faze the Sea Basin Pokémon as it was nothing more than a mere squirt gun to it. Kyogre retorted by showing Chaos what a real water attack looked like and smacked its fin down to create a huge tidal wave that threatened to wipe out the mutated Chao. Seeing the oncoming threat, Chaos stretched his limb to grab a nearby building like a grappling hook and pulled himself towards it, allowing him to narrowly escape the tidal wave.

He then jumped off the building and morphed into a water ball before slamming down on his opponent’s head. His efforts were in vain as Kyogre hardly felt the blow. Chaos bounced off Kyogre and tried to get to safety only for Kyogre to cover its tail with water and smack him aside with its Aqua Tail attack.

The Sea Basin Pokémon watched as Chaos landed on a floating piece of highway and proceeded to use his Origin Pulse attack to finish it quickly. Kyogre roared and several blue laser fire from around it and headed towards the God of Destruction. Chaos acted fast and moved around while morphing his body to dodge each of the lasers, but one of them still managed to hit and send him flying even further.

He recovered as best as he could, but it became clear that this was a one-sided battle… that is until he noticed two small gems on the ground. Chaos hardly had time to process this however as Kyogre went on to create several large boulders using Ancient Power and threw them at Chaos. The first of these boulders looked like it would crush Chaos with a direct hit, yet much to the whale’s surprise it burst into powder before it could do so.

The cause of this was made clear upon seeing Chaos with its arm outstretched. With a single punch, the God of Destruction had destroyed the boulder, but arm had taken up a new appearance. The arm had gotten bigger and developed a boney structure inside, and in the center of that structure lay a small gemstone that glowed brightly.

The reality was made clear; Chaos had found a Chaos Emerald and absorbed it into his body to become Chaos 1. Yet even with the successful destruction of the ancient boulder, there were still several more flying at Chaos. The God of Destruction knew he needed more power so he grabbed the other Emerald and absorbed it into his body. His other arm transformed to match the other and he began to grow in size, transforming him into Chaos 2.

Using his enhanced physique, Chaos leapt high into the air and landed on one of the oncoming boulders. He continued to jump from boulder to boulder so he could close the distance between him and Kyogre. Once he got close enough, Chaos stretched out his arm to throw a punch and hit the Pokémon right in the face. The force of the blow caused Kyogre to close its eyes and flinched in pain; Chaos had finally managed to damage him, and Kyogre wasn’t too pleased about it.

The Pokémon reopened its eyes with an enraged expression and fired a Water Pulse to knock Chaos back. It then throws another tidal wave at Chaos, this time mixed in with mud. The mutated Chao lands on some floating rubble and creates a forcefield to block the Muddy Water attack, successfully keeping it from damaging him. Chaos then tore off chunks of his body and threw them towards Kyogre at high speeds. The Sea Basin Pokemon wasn’t fazed by this and simply dove underwater to get away from the attack.

Chaos stayed vigilant, knowing that Kyogre would soon resurface and try to attack him again. He looked all around the battlefield, but saw no sign of the creature, not even a shadow of it beneath the water. The God of Destruction was unsure where his opponent could have gone, though he didn’t realize there was one place Kyogre could strike from without him noticing: down below.

Before Chaos could react, Kyogre burst through the ground below and knocked the Chao into the air. In the brief moment of Kyogre rising and Chaos falling back down, it looked like a Jaws poster recreated by two water titans, and Kyogre added to those similarities by chomping down on Chaos. The Pokémon prepared to swallow his snack, but a sudden pain exploded from within its mouth forcing him to spit Chaos out and when it did, Kyogre saw that Chaos had enveloped itself in electricity to protect itself.

The super effective attack made Kyogre even more furious so it launched a big blue stream called Hydro Pump to blast Chaos out of the sky. In response, the Chao stretched out and glided through the air, allowing him to maneuver around the Hydro Pump and get in range for his next attack. Chaos sharpened one of its hands and created a makeshift spear which he used to stab Kyogre right in the center of its forehead.

Kyogre screeched in pain as the liquid arms pierced its skin. Fortunately, it wasn’t enough to reach his skull and hit anything vital, but the Pokémon still wanted to end the pain immediately. So it dove into the water, taking Chaos with it and swan as fast as possible hoping that it would shake its opponent off.

Chaos wasn’t going to let his target throw him off so easily and desperately tried to hold on. In an effort to strike back, Chaos took his free hand and continuously whacked Kyogre on the head, dealing further damage to the Sea Basin Pokémon. Kyogre struggled to keep going with both the stab wound and constant bashing afflicting it, but noticed a submerge building up ahead and got an idea. It sped up and rammed into the building with full force, using Chaos to cushion itself as the building got smashed to pieces. And sure enough, Chaos was knocked off and left dazed by the force of the impact.

This also left Chaos wide open and Kyogre seized the opportunity by swimming towards Chaos and hitting him with a point blank Water Spout. The geyser shot Chaos above the water and into the air before erupting into a flurry of powerful raindrops that strike Chaos back down into the water.

The blow left Chaos weakened and Kyogre didn’t hesitate to fire another Hydro Pump which hit its target directly. Chaos’ body burst into pieces and the remaining force of the attack hit the ground hard enough to make a huge crater. And inside that crater, two objects made a brief gleam and revealed themselves to be two more Chaos Emeralds, freshly unearthed from their underground hiding spot.

That kind of attack should have been a finishing blow, and Kyogre thought so too, but Chaos could not be killed so easily. Kyogre soon noticed a pink glow floating in the water surrounded by the glow of the Emeralds Chaos absorbed earlier. Suddenly, the two other Chaos Emeralds began to glow and floated towards the pink glow as if it called for them. This was followed by the formerly scattered pieces of Chaos coming back and regrouping around the glow and the Emeralds. Once they all got together, Chaos’ body shifted around until it reached a new form, this one being more shark-like in appearance.

Now that he was at Chaos 4, the God of Destruction charged at Kyogre and successfully tackled him into a building. With the Pokémon stunned, Chaos swam back and began swinging its arms to bombard Kyogre with a barrage of energy waves. At first it seemed the Chao was overwhelming his opponent, but Kyogre turned things around by quickly swinging an Aqua Tail to break through the energy attacks and make a shockwave that traveled all the way to Chaos.

The shockwave knocked Chaos back a bit, yet he didn’t appear fazed by it. Instead he chose to retaliate by making a huge water twister and throwing it at his attacker. In response, Kyogre used its Muddy Water to intercept the twister and the two aquatic attacks collided with equal ferocity, so much ferocity in fact that it created an explosion that split the sea apart.

A huge burst of water arose to the surface leaving a small hole in the flood plaguing the city. It was at least a dozen feet deep, although not enough to reach the ground, and from within the hole, both Chaos and Kyogre resurfaced and began to circle each other, waiting for the other to strike. They ended up swimming so fast that it made a circular current that transformed the water hole into a fierce whirlpool that caused the buildings to shake, adding more disasters to Station Square.

Neither monster let this faze them as they only focused on each other. Kyogre ended up making the first move by firing boulders with Ancient Power, and Chaos immediately destroyed them with a series of energy waves. With the projectiles cleared, Chaos was free to lunge at Kyogre and attempt to stab it with a sharpened arm. However, the attack ended up being too predictable to Kyogre who dipped its fin into the whirlpool to redirect the flowing water upwards and into Chaos’ eyes.

The water blinded the God of Destruction causing him to lose focus. And with that opening, Kyogre raised its fin immediately to create another Muddy Water that knocked Chaos back to the other side of the whirlpool. Kyogre attempted to keep Chaos pinned down by using an Origin Pulse to fire blue lasers everywhere. Chaos made an immediate recovery and had no trouble maneuvering through the lasers, but those projectiles were hardly a problem compared to what came next.

While Kyogre swam around the edge of the whirlpool, its Origin Pulse lasers fired at several different angles, striking the nearby buildings. This blew out chunks of the civilized structures and forced them to fall into the ocean. These massive pieces were then drawn in by the raging forces of the whirlpool and got caught in Chaos and Kyogre’s swimming session.

The first chunk of building hit Chaos on the side, catching him off guard and making him lose balance. This was followed by several more buildings hitting the Chao repeatedly until he lept upwards to avoid more of the oncoming buildings. Kyogre watched as his opponent suffered a constant beating from the unexpected obstacles. It figured the same would happen to it and sure enough the Pokémon noticed chunks of buildings heading towards it as well and jumped into the air accordingly.

All the buildings gathered into the center of the whirlpool, creating a small island on concrete for Chaos to land on. In his current form, this wasn’t the most desirable place to be, but at least he was safe from being pelted by the buildings. This bit of relief ended up being short lived as Chaos noticed a shadow hovering above him and saw Kyogre about to Body Slam him. The Sea Basin Pokémon slammed down hard and the big chunks of buildings got reduced to smaller chunks as they flew everywhere.

A big drip was launched as well and when it hit the water, it reformed into Chaos. Feeling exhausted from the endeavor, the Chao performed Chaos Heal and a green ring formed around it to restore his lost health. But Kyogre figured out its opponet’s intentions and attempted to freeze Chaos in its tracks (literally). The Sea Basin Pokémon charged up a light blue orb in its mouth and it erupted into an Ice Beam. Chaos saw the attack coming and broke out of his healing to try and dodge, only for his arm to be caught in the Ice Beam.

The chilling power of the Ice Beam solidified Chaos’ arm and turned it into pure ice, leaving Chaos unable to move it. He started flailing his arm frantically in hopes of breaking free, but it was clear that the arm was going to be stuck like that for a while. And during that struggle, Kyogre realized that Ice-Type attacks were super effective against its opponent and knew exactly what to do.

Kyogre began spamming Ice Beams left and right in an effort to freeze Chaos solid, but the God of Destruction was far from cornered and dodged the attacks with ease. Using his free hand, Chaos manifested the biggest water twister he could muster before hurling it at the Sea Basin Pokémon. The twister appeared too big to dodge so Kyogre aimed its Ice Beam at the twister in order to destroy it. Though the raging water managed to fight against the cold blast, it eventually froze into an icy cone before shattering to pieces.

But once the twister disappeared, Chaos emerged from right behind it and was close enough to sucker punch Kyogre with his ice-covered fist. The blow ended up being so powerful that not only did Chaos’ own arm shatter from it, the attack also managed to launch Kyogre into the air. Chaos followed it up by reaching out with his not-destroyed hand and creating a huge ripple in mid-air to send Kyogre far away.

Kyogre ended up flying to another section of Station Square and crashed into a building, and his big body caused it to collapse like the kaiju he is. The Sea Basin Pokémon immediately got up to see the rubble of its concrete victim falling into the water, as well as a shiny gem similar to the ones it saw its opponent pick up to get stronger.

And sure enough, Chaos came in fast with his eyes fixated on the Chaos Emerald. He grabbed it without hesitation and struck Kyogre with an uppercut, this time extending his arm to add additional force. Kyogre flew up then crashed down into the water, making a small tsunami upon impact. That tsunami also caused another Chaos Emerald, that happened to be at rock bottom earlier, to erupt into the air. And now that the sixth gem had revealed itself, Chaos gladly stretched out his arm to grab it.

The Sea Basin Pokémon resurfaced moments later and gazed at the rubble of the building he had crashed into moments ago. There was still enough rubble left to make a small platform and is where his opponent stood glowing with the strength of 6 Chaos Emeralds as his body made yet another transformation. Chaos’ eyes aligned vertically with a few smaller eyes joining their sides, he grew legs for which to stand on, and a sharp tail sprouted from his behind. Finally, Chaos opened a new appendage: a razor sharp mouth to complete the transformation into Chaos 6.

Chaos 6 put his new mouth to use and started sucking (Uh, Phrasing) so hard that it made a vacuum that drew Kyogre close to him. While Kyogre was obviously too big to fit inside the mutated Chao’s body, that wasn’t the plan. Raising his guillotine tail, Chaos prepared to “Marie Antoninette” his enemy once it got pulled into range.

Of course Kyogre had already devised a means of retaliation. Its body gave off a bright glow as it sped up towards its attacker then Kyogre rammed right through him with a Double-Edge attack. Chaos’ body split apart from the blow, although it reformed just in time to see Kyogre land on the other side.

While Kyogre’s attack didn’t seem to do much damage, Chaos did in fact feel quite a bit of pain from it and became infuriated. Letting out an angry roar, Chaos started throwing globs of water everywhere, but its rage obscured his aim causing several of the globs to land on nearby rubble and buildings and the globs that did get close to Kyogre were incredibly easy to dodge.

For its next move, Kyogre chose to continue with close-ranged attacks and swam quickly towards Chaos. The Pokémon leaped out of the water, but didn’t realize it was next to some rubble with a glob Chaos had fired earlier. Though it may have seemed harmless, the glob took Kyogre by surprise by morphing into a giant tentacle and whipping Kyogre away. Things only got worse for Kyogre as it was launched to another glob which repeated its brethren’s action and launched the Pokémon in a different direction. Soon enough, giant tentacles fully sprouted from chunks of highways and abandoned buildings all for the sake of knocking Kyogre around in pinball machine fashion.

Chaos watched as his traps knocked Kyogre around before deciding to personally deal the finishing blow. He raised his tail high into the air and it charged up with an orange energy. The God of Destruction waited for just the right moment then swung his tail down with the force of a mighty hammer and whacked Kyogre hard into the water.

Continuing the assault, Chaos sprouted dozens of razor sharp tentacles and harpooned them into the water to chase after Kyogre. Seeing the attack coming, Kyogre turned around and swam deeper to outrun his pursuers. Though the Pokémon was fast, it knew it couldn’t escape the tentacles forever so Kyogre sped up to get some distance then turned around to fire an Origin Pulse. The lasers that came from it blasted apart the tentacles one by one. Yet one tentacle managed to avoid decimation and continued to head towards Kyogre, but the Pokémon still managed to dodge it causing the tentacle to skewer the ground instead.

The tentacle stayed in the ground for a while then began to shake, catching Kyogre’s attention. It looked over at the tentacle just as it broke out of the ground and retracted to its owner. As it passed by, Kyogre noticed a small gem inside the tentacle that it found buried in the ground; it was the last Chaos Emerald.

Back on the surface, Chaos reeled in his tentacle and saw the Emerald resurface with it. At last the God of Destruction would have all 7 Chaos Emeralds and restore his ultimate form, and all he needed to do was fully absorb that gem into his body and he would achieve perfection. But just as hope had arrived, a huge blast of water came to take it away just as quickly. The blast was none other than a Hydro Pump from Kyogre which severed the tentacle then moved to strike the gem and blast it into a nearby building.

Chaos became furious, stomping his feet upon the ground in a frenzy, but he was far from deterred. He knew where the last Chaos Emerald had landed; he just had to get to that building to collect it. The only issue, as Chaos immediately found out, would be the giant whale popping back up to the surface prepared to stop him from getting that Emerald at all costs.

This only made Chaos more determined to kill his enemy as he made more tentacles to skewer the Pokémon. Kyogre didn’t plan on destroying them this time and instead closed its eyes as it concentrated its thoughts. By achieving a Calm Mind, Kyogre’s power increased and the tentacles bounced off its body without leaving a scratch. Opening its eyes again, Kyogre fought back with a Water Pulse attack which was bigger than the last.

The mutated Chao didn’t want to take that hit so he jumped high into the air, narrowly avoiding the Water Pulse. He then stretched out his front legs and latched onto Kyogre and followed it up by pulling himself in and headbutting the Sea Basin Pokémon with intense force. Thinking his opponent was stunned, Chaos made a massive leap off of Kyogre and dashed towards the building with the Emerald only to be struck by a Muddy Water from behind. In actuality, Kyogre had easily shrugged off the blow and slammed down with his tail to make the dirty wave to strike Chaos down.

Kyogre needed to make sure that its opponent wouldn’t get up to go after the Emerald again so it used Ancient Power to crush the Chao with boulders. But Chaos managed to get up just in time to dodge the attack and jump across the many improvised platforms before they got sunk by the giant rocks. It became clear that Chaos needed to be slowed down so Kyogre glared using a Scary Face and when Chaos saw it, he felt his body slow down tremendously.

This left Chaos wide open for Kyogre’s next attack and the Sea Basin Pokémon made sure to make it count. It fired an extra powerful Ice Beam at its target and Chaos couldn’t move out of the way fast enough to avoid it. The beam made a direct hit and Chaos’ body got reduced to an ice sculpture, putting him in intense pain and leaving him unable to move. And to finish the job, Kyogre performed one more Origin Pulse and blitzed Chaos with a series of lasers. This time each of those lasers hit perfectly and they caused the Chaos-sicle to shatter into snowflakes leaving only the pink core and the six Chaos Emeralds left as they floated away.

Kyogre looked at the scene with satisfaction. With the extreme amount of damage Chaos just took, there was little chance of him getting back up and the Pokémon didn’t see him trying to regenerate either. Letting out a mighty roar, Kyogre declared its victory though it may have been called too early. As it prepared to leave, Kyogre noticed a small gleam from the building its opponent tried to get to and got a bad feeling from it.

And the Pokémon immediately figured out why. From outside the building, the Chaos Emerald emerged covered by a thick glob of water. Though Kyogre may have severed the tentacle, Chaos still found a way to hold on to his last gem. The glob of water bounced around and went right across Kyogre who was stunned by the unexpected turn of events. Turning around, Kyogre’s eyes widened as it saw Chaos’ core and the other Emeralds which had survived its last attack.

More globs of water appeared to cover Chaos’ core and once the glob with the last Emerald joined in, he submerged into the depths below. Suddenly the city began to shake, and the water moved around restlessly. Kyogre wasn’t fazed by this as he recognized the phenomenon it had caused so many times before: the sea levels were rising. However, its real concern was the cause of the flooding.

Kyogre stared at where Chaos had submerged moments ago, figuring its enemy, the source of the restless waves would reappear. And as expected, something emerged from the depths: the dragon-like creature with green eyes, Perfect Chaos. The God of Destruction was back in his prime and ready to unleash his full power on the being that dared to stand in his way. Letting out a roar of pure malice, Chaos let Kyogre know that the real battle had just begun.

The roar of the dragon rocked the waves with immense force. Kyogre struggled as the waves pushed it back and the Pokémon was focused on swimming to notice that Chaos had fired several energy blasts to sink his enemy. Kyogre got hit by every single blast and the force knocked it back and had it skip across the water like a rock.

Though the Sea Basin Pokémon managed to get up, its body had been badly bruised by this one attack. It realized just how difficult this battle had become, yet Kyogre had no intention of backing down. Kyogre created an Aqua Ring around itself and the veil slowly started healing the wounds and giving the whale the strength to keep fighting.

It charged with all its might and fired an Ice Beam, knowing its best bet was to immobilize the monster again. But Chaos wouldn’t allow himself to be beaten so easily so he made a barrier that completely blocked out the attack. Kyogre still continued advancing despite its failed first attack and with its second attempt, the Sea Basin Pokémon launched a Muddy Water towards the God of Destruction who responded by creating an even bigger wave to overpower it.

Chaos’ bigger wave effortlessly tore the other wave apart and threatened to do the same to Kyogre, but the latter made a big leap into the air to avoid the wave. Kyogre wasn’t safe yet though, as Chaos immediately spouted a tentacle from beneath the water to swat the airbound Pokémon. Acting quickly, Kyogre charged up an Aqua Tail and matched the blow albeit the perfected Chao’s strength ended up pushing Kyogre far away.

The God of Destruction watched as his opponent crashed into a nearby building with enough force to make it collapse into the water and create a big splash. Some of the water rose up and got into Chaos’ eyes, flinching the monster a bit and unfortunately for him, that left an opening. Speeding along the water was the ever persistent Kyogre who prepared to fight its enemy head on. Its body enveloped itself in the light of a Double-Edge and rocketed into Chaos. However instead of a gut-crushing tackle like the Pokémon expected, Kyogre went right into Chaos as if its opponent was made of a super ancient jello. This certainly shocked the Sea Basin Pokémon as it wasn’t sure what to make of it, but it didn’t have time to ponder it either as a mysterious force started pulling it around Chaos’ body. And the culprit of course happened to be Chaos himself.

Chaos used his unique biology to swirl Kyogre around and get his opponent dizzy before launching it out of him and into the air. Despite being thrown around for a while, Kyogre’s senses were still fine and it had just enough time to make rocks with Ancient Power and throw them at Chaos. Of course, those rocks suffered the same fate as Kyogre did earlier and went inside Chaos’ body without doing harm. The God of Destruction took advantage of this by ejecting the rocks in Kyogre’s direction, pelting the Sea Basin Pokémon enough times to cause a concussion. And with that Chaos had no trouble swatting Kyogre with a tentacle this time, practically launching it back into the water.

By now, Kyogre had become too exhausted to keep going. There was simply too big of a power difference between the two for the Sea Basin Pokémon to handle. But before it lost hope, Kyogre remembered that it had one last technique that could turn the tides of battle.

And boy did he need it as Chaos was ready to end the fight.

Forming two giant tentacles on his sides, Chaos swung them back before clapping them together hard with his prey, Kyogre, in the dead center. He attempted to crush the life out of his enemy, pressing as hard as he could until he could see that red, white, and blue toothpaste oozing out. But Chaos soon found that it was getting perpetually harder to press the tentacles together and the target body felt harder somehow. Chaos looked down and what the perfected Chao saw completely shocked him.

A sapphire-colored structure had started forming around Kyogre, encasing its body like a spherical cocoon. Thanks to the cocoon, Chaos’ tentacles could not reach the soft body inside as the tougher exterior proved too strong to crush. Despite this, cracks started to form along the cocoon, although they were not a result of Chaos’ actions, but from an overwhelming force coming from inside. Suddenly, a glowing “α” formed on the sphere before bursting open with enough power to vaporize the tentacles holding it.

From the shattered sphere emerged Kyogre who had undergone a huge transformation. Its body was bigger and had a darker blue coloring. The red markings on it now had a bright yellow shine and so did its eyes. No longer was Kyogre holding back, it had unleashed its true form Primal Kyogre.

Unleashing its war cry, Kyogre darkened the skies once again and they began to pour harder. The Primordial Sea had activated, creating the deadliest downpours, the most horrific hurricanes, and the most terrifying tidal waves the world had ever seen. Added with the damage Perfect Chaos had caused moments ago, the sea levels rose to new heights. This time it rose to the point that even the tallest of buildings couldn’t stay afloat and they sank deep into the water. Soon enough there was no land, no floating chunks, no anything in sight, just a vast, and newly formed ocean along with the two inhabitants that ruled over it.

Perfect Chaos and Primal Kyogre glared at each other for a minute, their eyes assessing the strength of their opponents and feeling an overwhelming urge to kill them. Once that malicious intent overflowed inside both of them, the two warriors of water let out big roars and engaged each other in a fight to the death.

Chaos struck first by creating a series of energy blasts to fire at Kyogre who matched it with Origin Pulse. The Origin Pulse lasers completely obliterated the energy blasts and the resulting shockwaves forced Chaos back a bit. That power made Chaos realize just how much stronger his opponent had become and that he needed to take this seriously if we wanted to live to see another day.

Turns out that was easier said than done as he felt something huge pierce through his chest and looked to see that Kyogre had hit him with an extra strong Hydro Pump. Kyogre went for another Hydro Pump, this time aiming for Chaos’ head, but the perfected Chao dodged and liquified into the water. Chaos reappeared right behind Kyogre and formed a tentacle to smack him aside. He followed it up by making several more huge tentacles and having them thrust forward to relentlessly whip Kyogre into submission.

Granted even when in mid-flight from the first tentacle, Kyogre still had enough focus to see the other tentacles coming. It immediately fired an Ice Beam and froze every tentacle in sight. One of the tentacles managed to sneak past the beam and tried to strike Kyogre from below, but the Sea Basin Pokémon flapped its fins to change direction in mid-air and narrowly dodged the attack before using another Ice Beam to freeze the appendage solid.

Kyogre then landed on the frozen tentacle and slid on it to help propel itself towards the water dragon all while launching Water Pulses to keep his enemy distracted. This forced Chaos on the defensive as he needed to make a barrier to stop the intense attacks. He couldn’t allow the Pokémon to get close either so when Chaos found an opening he forced several geysers to erupt from below and smash apart the ice tentacle Kyogre rode upon.

The path to Chaos had successfully been cut off and Kyogre was on the verge of crashing into one of the geysers, but it jumped into the air to dodge and found its own opening to harm the Chao. Kyogre prepared one more Water Pulse to hit Chaos on the head where his core lay only for Chaos to counter with another geyser, this one carrying one of the buildings that had been sunken earlier. He propelled the building right into Kyogre, sending the Pokémon off course and inflicting a significant amount of pain as well.

The building crushed Primal Kyogre into the water and Perfect Chaos expected the Primal Pokémon to resurface at any moment. And something did resurface, albeit not Kyogre. Instead, the Pokémon copied Chaos’ attack and used its Water Spout to return the building to sender. Chaos didn’t waste a second firing a laser from his mouth, shattering the building to pieces before having it head towards Kyogre. However, the Pokémon dodged with ease and rushed up to its enemy to deliver a hard swung Aqua Tail to the God of Destruction’s neck.

Chaos didn’t even get enough time to react and absorb the attack causing him to lose breath as the blow knocked him back dozens of feet. Kyogre didn’t stop there and followed it up with an Origin Pulse to further pressure its opponent. Chaos sprouted some tentacles and whipped them around wildly to deflect all the incoming lasers then tried to fight back by creating several giant twisters that spun towards the Sea Basin Pokémon.

This hardly proved to be a challenge for Kyogre who used its control over the ongoing storm to make a much larger twister sprout up from the ground and intercept the attack. Kyogre’s twister collided with Chaos’s many twisters and they pressed against each other as if they were Beyblades in an intense duel, but in the end Kyogre’s twister ended up being stronger and tore through Chaos’ attack before striking the perfected Chao himself.

Chaos felt the twister tearing his body to pieces as globs of water got flung all over the place. He knew Kyogre would try to take advantage of this so he fired several energy blasts into the air as a means of self-defense. Those energy blasts soon plummeted downwards and impacted the water like meteors.

Kyogre swam as best as it could to avoid the energy blasts as they pelted the ground. The Pokémon did an excellent job evading the onslaught at first, but the numbers were too great and eventually, Kyogre started getting hit left and right by the energy attacks. Chaos saw his enemy getting pinned down and started focusing its fire on where Kyogre stood. He fired yet another volley of energy blasts and they all headed straight for Kyogre, threatening to hit the Sea Basin Pokémon all at the same time. Kyogre knew it had to act fast so it used Calm Mind to concentrate and increase its defenses. The attacks hit Kyogre directly, but it managed to hang in there with minimal damage, and used its boosted attack to fire a gigantic Hydro Pump.

Chaos launched an energy beam from his mouth and caught the opposing attack in a power struggle. The energy beam and the Hydro Pump pushed against each other for a while before exploding and creating a shockwave that knocked the two titans back. Yet neither appeared fazed by the recoil and continued to go at each other with Perfect Chaos making geysers to launch bits of highways and buildings and Primal Kyogre matching it with its Ancient Power attack.

As bits of rocks smashed against each other, both kept total concentration of destroying the other before Chaos decided to kick it up a notch. He sprouted a huge tentacle from the water and threw it back a bit before slamming down on Kyogre with incredible force. After that attack, the battlefield fell silent and Chaos assumed that his opponent had been dealt with, but then he saw something swimming quickly up his arm and became shocked.

It was Kyogre, who deliberately went inside the perfected Chao’s tentacle and swam up it with blazing speed. In no time at all, Kyogre made it into the center and reached Chaos’ core, striking it with a Double-Edge. Getting hit right in the weak point made Chaos screech in pain before his liquid body fell apart, plopping Kyogre back into the ocean. Though it didn’t take long for Chaos to reform elsewhere, angrier than ever.

Kyogre realized that its best shot was to keep getting close and striking the core so it continued its advancement towards Chaos. The God of Destruction easily saw this coming and made several twisters to block off Kyogre’s path. Yet Kyogre could not be slowed down by such simplistic attacks and wiped them all out with an Origin Pulse. Chaos’ next attempt was to fire more energy blasts that honed in on his assailant, but once again the Sea Basin Pokémon got past it by summoning a Muddy Water wave to wipe out the blasts in one go.

As a final act of desperation, Chaos summoned his tentacles from every place imaginable and sharpened them in hopes of skewering his opponent before it could reach its destination. The tentacles came in fast, but Kyogre was faster moving like a lightning bolt to maneuver through around each appendage as they came from above, from the sides, to even beneath the ocean.

And upon making it past the onslaught of tentacles, Kyogre finally got close to Chaos and had its sights set on his core. The Sea Basin Pokémon charged up a Hydro Pump and aimed for the head hoping to blow it to pieces before obliterating what was inside. Yet Chaos managed to be one step ahead and brought out more tentacles to block the attack before sending them to attack Kyogre.

Despite its best efforts, Kyogre still couldn’t bring the God of Destruction down. Its opponent was undoubtedly strong and pushed it to the limit. Yet there could only be one Lord of the Sea and Kyogre refused to be bested in its own territory. Summoning up every last bit of its strength, Kyogre moved forward, prepared to kill Chaos no matter what. In the end it would be the victor!

Using an Aqua Tail, Kyogre quickly laid waste to the tentacles and dived right into Chaos’ body. The mutated Chao attempted to remove the Pokémon from his body by altering the flow of his liquid physique, and though Kyogre swam against the flow it could not move fast enough to reach the core. Chaos figured it was only a matter of time before he spat his opponent out, but a sudden chill caused him to stop. His body started to feel colder and colder and he knew this had to be Kyogre’s doing. Meanwhile inside Chaos’ body, Kyogre was emitting a light-blue aura that caused its surroundings to freeze up. With the Sheer Cold attack, Kyogre planned to freeze Chaos with a blast of absolute-zero then go in for the kill on a completely immobile enemy.

Chaos soon figured out where the cold feeling came from and knew that this meant big trouble. If he didn’t do something soon he would be done for, yet there didn’t seem like there was much he could do to begin with. It seemed death would be inevitable for the God of Destruction, but one force proved greater than Kyogre’s Sheer Cold: Chaos’ rage. The day he lost everything from his home to his fellow Chaos burned deep within him and continued to push him. He would not be brought down by a savage beast, no creature, so long as malice exists within their hearts, would bring harm to him, he would be the one to wipe them all out; to cleanse the world of its impurities. And he would start by getting rid of the monster that dared to stand against him!

Increasing the flow within his body and moving back quickly, Chaos increased his efforts to exercise Kyogre from his body. The increased force did successfully push Kyogre out, but the Pokémon still had a grip on him and used that grip to continue the Sheer Cold attack. Chaos’ body kept freezing up and in a few seconds his head would turn to ice and it would be game over. But Chaos stood strong and let out a huge roar that also let out a big blue ripple in the sky.

Kyogre ignored it at first and kept trying to freeze Chaos, but it soon found that its attack had started to slow down. Not only that, but Kyogre found itself struggling to move as the air seemingly got thicker, no… it was more like it was freezing. Before Kyogre could piece it together, it completely froze from an unexpected Chaos Bind.

Chaos successfully stopped his attacker, but most of his body remained frozen in ice. He also knew that the Chaos Bind wouldn’t last forever and if he didn’t attack first then his opponent would break free and destroy him.

The God of Destruction used his regenerative abilities and tried moving his body. His goal was to break free of the Sheer Cold encasing so he can go all out on the Pokémon. On the other end, Kyogre remained conscious and struggled against the frozen air so it could continue fighting against the perfected Chao. As they fought against their immobility, cracks started to form in Chaos’ frozen body and Kyogre started moving slowly. Both were about to escape their confinements and these next few moments would decide the battle.

And in this desperate struggle, Kyogre was the first to break free and began to move normally again. Using its regained mobility, Kyogre chose to strike Chaos down before he could break free of his own bindings and created the biggest Hydro Pump it could muster to blast the Chao apart.

But the second before the water cannon struck, Chaos’ body shattered, escaping the icy prison and dissipating into the ocean to escape just in time. Kyogre was shocked to see things go awry so suddenly which almost prevented the Pokémon from noticing his target reemerging from behind it.

When Kyogre did turn around, Chaos threw out two big tentacles and Kyogre right in its fins causing the Pokémon to scream in pain. Chaos kept at it and used his tentacles to pick Kyogre up and pin it to the bottom of the ocean. The Sea Basin Pokémon was pinned down, Chaos had everything he needed to win and began charging up an energy blast in his mouth. It took some time to charge up as Chaos wanted to use his full power for this last attack. This of course gave Kyogre plenty of time to see it coming and the Pokémon knew that if it could overpower the attack, it would reach Chaos and strike his core hard enough to kill him.

Kyogre performed a Calm Mind to increase power then let out the strongest Origin Pulse in its life. Chaos fired his laser at the same time and the God of Destruction’s big laser collided with the multitude of smaller lasers from the Sea Basin Pokémon. The attacks collided with equal intensity, constantly pushing back and forth against each other.

There was no telling who would prevail until Chaos’ beam pushed through and destroyed the smaller lasers of the Origin Pulse. The beam traveled further until it pierced through Primal Kyogre’s chest, forcing the Sea Basin Pokémon to take its final breath. In addition, the shockwaves of the blast caused the ocean to burst into a huge tsunami roughly the size of what was once Station Square.

Eventually, the water fell down and the seas began to calm down. The uncontrollable rain cleared up, although the dark clouds still remained. After a brief silence, the water stirred and from it rose the God of Destruction in his perfect form. He took a look around the empty arena, making sure that he destroyed everything as planned. It all seemed clear until blood started appearing in the water and chunks of a sapphire-colored body floated up to the surface.

Chaos stared at the remains of what he knew had to have been his enemy and let out one last roar to indicate he had won, and now there was nothing that could stop him.

Boomstick: Gonna need more than a towel to dry all that off.

Wiz: At first glance, Kyogre seemed like a worthy adversary for Chaos. In all honesty, there aren’t a lot of foes that could stand up to the Sea Basin Pokémon, but the God of Destruction proved to be a perfect match and then some.

Boomstick: Though it’s not like this fight was straightforward. Chaos’ base form really didn’t stand a chance against a monster that could sink continents and had more versatile options in attacks. And while Chaos at his peak could keep up with beings that move at near light speed, Kyogre could dodge things that move at EXACTLY light speed.

Wiz: Plus if weaker Pokémon like Oshawott could show faster reaction, then it’s likely Kyogre was faster than it let on. But even with a disadvantage in speed, Chaos had everything he needed to win this.

Boomstick: First of all, Chaos’ barriers and regenerative abilities meant he had much better means of enduring whatever Kyogre threw at him. Plus since the bigger forms could absorb and spit out whatever got thrown at them, Kyogre’s close ranged options really didn’t carry a lot of weight. In fact those bigger forms are what actually turn this whole thing around.

Popup: It is worth noting that Chaos Heal recovers Chaos’ stamina at a much faster rate than Kyogre’s Aqua Ring and was less consequential than Rest.

Wiz: More specifically, the Chaos Emeralds and the upgrades they provided were Chaos’ biggest advantage due to their immense power. Recall how Sonic used these same Emeralds to put the planet back together. That required a total energy output of over 2.8 Yottatons of TNT and as Perfect Chaos draws from the same energy source, he should be capable of that same kind of power.

Boomstick: Kyogre was a powerhouse in its own right too. Its Primal form rivaled Mega Rayquaza who destroyed a world busting meteor which could hit with almost 50 Zettatons of TNT. Impressive, but Perfect Chaos’ power was 56 times greater than that. May be a bit hard to believe, but we're basically comparing the force of hurling a small pebble to moving big-a$$ boulders.

Popup: Comparing Primal Kyogre to Mega Rayquaza may be more of a highball scaling. Rayquaza has been able to handle both Groudon and Kyogre on its own and even defeated them in the anime.

Wiz: Granted there are more factors in play when considering power such as how Chaos only drew from the negative half of the Chaos Emeralds and that Kyogre could increase its power with Calm Mind. Yet no matter how you put it, Chaos had a very clear power advantage that Kyogre couldn’t compensate for. And though Kyogre had special resistances to water attacks, that doesn’t stop Chaos from overpowering the Pokémon. At best it would simply allow Kyogre to prolong the inevitable.

Popup: The rain created by Kyogre’s Drizzle and Primordial Sea abilities enhance the Water-type attacks for all Pokémon. Given that Chaos’ attacks are water-based as well he would likely receive that same benefit.

Boomstick: And I know what you’re thinking: “What about Ice Beam and Sheer Cold? Can’t Kyogre just freeze Chaos solid and get an easy win?”

Wiz: Well sort of. With Kyogre’s greater speed, it could undoubtedly freeze Chaos continuously making it a very tedious fight for the God of Destruction. But keep in mind this only immobilizes Chaos and doesn’t really harm him significantly. As long as Chaos was tough enough to endure, he would eventually find a work around for his disadvantages and overwhelm Kyogre with superior strength.

Boomstick: And considering that the big drip has survived fighting Super Sonic, who can hit just as hard as Perfect Chaos, and by extension Primal Kyogre, it was definitely going to take more than some fancy ice attacks to take Chaos down for good. Not to mention, the Chaos Bind could also freeze opponents giving Chaos that same option, and he doesn’t need to rely on accuracy for his version.

Popup: Despite ascending to heaven at the end of Sonic Adventure, Chaos was stated to have survived his fight with Super Sonic. His “death” was more of a conscious choice rather than a result of suffering fatal wounds.

Wiz: This fight had a lot of unexpected results and Kyogre proved a tricky opponent for Chaos, but with superior power, endurance, and knack for “Chaos” the God of Destruction proved to be a superior warrior of water than the Sea Basin Pokémon.

Boomstick: I know some of you didn’t “sea” this coming, but it’s nothing to “Kry Ogre”. These two were rocking the boat so hard, that there was no telling who would sink or swim. But now that the storm has passed all I have left to say is “Chao”.

Wiz: The winner is Chaos.
