A term that originated in the Anime/Manga medium to describe characters who are crazy about someone else, often to a violent and literal extent. Almost always, they will look cute and innocent, but underneath they may be obsessive, controlling, or insane. While Yanderes are the most villainous of the 4 primary Dere types (Tsundere, Yandere, Kuudere, Dandere), and are many times psychopathic and murderous, there exist nonvillainous Yandere.
