Captain Holt vs Gustavo Fring is an off-season What-If? Death Battle written by BigShark81913, featuring Captain Raymond Holt from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Gustavo Fring from Breaking Bad.
Description[]
Brooklyn Nine-Nine vs Breaking Bad! It’s a game of cat and mouse in this battle of wits and maybe even cool guns. Will Holt manage to bust the secrets of Los Pollos Hermanos? Or will Fring continue to hide in plain sight?
Interlude[]
Boomstick: Crime’s everywhere, right? Left, right, up, down, and probably even in Antarctica!
Wiz: However, we will always have a noble protection force to fight against criminals. Today, we’re here to see a battle of wits between a master cop and a master crook. Captain Raymond Holt, the stern and “robotic” captain of the 99th precinct.
Boomstick: And Gustavo Fring, the cold and calculating drug kingpin and chicken man. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find who would win... a DEATH BATTLE!
Captain Holt specifically requested DEATH BATTLE![]
Wiz: Welcome the the 99th Precinct in Brooklyn, New York. With high arrest numbers and brainy detectives, it has stood the test of time. However, the detectives are rather… unruly, mostly due to the fact that the current captain spends most of his time napping.
Boomstick: But that all changed when, one day, Captain McGintley finally left his crusty old chair and the Precinct received a new captain. With a “robotic” behavior and a pretty scary thousand yard stare, this new captain had one goal: making this motley crew of dysfunctional do-gooders into the casual Columbo gang of Brooklyn!
Wiz: Meet Captain Raymond Holt. When he first got the job, nothing was known about him or his duties. But just who is this mysterious captain?
Boomstick: Raised in a high class household by his mother, Judge Laverne Holt, Ray had a very… boring childhood. Hell, all he did was read and play with globes!
Wiz: Over time, he found out that the career he wanted to pursue was to live the life of a police officer and protect the defenseless. So, when he was older, he entered the police academy and, after only one month, he was promoted to an official detective of the NYPD.
Boomstick: And he began to send the crime rates down like an avalanche. Crook after crook, he was finally ready for a higher position and he achieved his lifetime dream: becoming the captain of Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct!
Wiz: Upon entering, he instantly schooled immature detective Jake Peralta and became a being to fear for the entire squad. Over time, however, he began to create bonds with each member and become the best captain in the Precinct’s history.
Boomstick: Alongside bonds and all that junk, he also got his hands on some pretty cool cop skills! He’s got multiple bulletproof vests, which have been used to block bullets from multiple criminals like the corrupt FIA agent Bob Annderson.
Wiz: His main gun is his trusty Colt SF-VI Revolver, which he has used since 1981. Holt can also use a shotgun, specifically a Mossberg 500, which is capable of firing a 437-grain slug shot fast enough to generate a kinetic charge of about 3262 joules.
Boomstick: He’s also a master at the art of using a rapier! Y’know, the twirly whirly swords folks like Inigo Montoya use. En garde!
Wiz: His weapon locker also includes explosive grenades, capable of creating an explosion worth about a single megajoule. He also has multiple tasers, which can stun people and even ignore durability.
Boomstick: He can also use a FN P90 Submachine Gun, which can peak at blastin’ bullets capable of creating a force of 26,700 destructive joules! He’s also gained a netgun from the Tactical Village, used to trap any crooks that try to run away.
Wiz: Well, aside from these weapons, we have his main factor for this battle and my personal favorite stat to analyze: intelligence.
Boomstick: After Ray’s many years as a police officer, he’s done some pretty neat brainy stuff. Young Holt was capable of picking up and mastering trigonometric functions in only his preschool years! Even I don’t know what the hell those are!
Wiz: As we said earlier, he was promoted to detective after only one month, and he was also able to catch a multitude of infamous killers, including the Disco Strangler, the Freestyle Killer, and the Brooklyn Boiler, all in his first year as a police officer.
Boomstick: Alongside his ally turned rival Madeline Wuntch, Holt uncovered the massive amount of 1,200 kilograms of heroin in an abandoned subway, installing the biggest drug bust in all of NYPD history! Everything went awry with him and Wuntch after this, until, y’know, “wuntch time was over.”
Wiz: He and Detective Peralta also managed to catch the Oolong Slayer, an elusive killer who was on the run for many years, and they did so with a scant amount of evidence and time. He also arrested over 600 people as of 2019, most of which were infamous killers and drug runners.
Boomstick: Holt has also mastered languages like French, Spanish, Greek, Russian, Swedish, Portuguese, and even whatever the hell Flemish is!
Popup: Flemish is a Dutch language, Boomstick.
Boomstick: Noted.
Wiz: Alongside his superhuman intellect, Holt also is physically strong despite his age. He is a master of pressure points and martial arts, proving this when he fought off three armed muggers when caught off guard and only used his fists.
Boomstick: He was also able to punch through a few layers of drywall and beat a crook unconscious for stealing his precious dog!
Wiz: Holt is also very durable, being capable of surviving getting hit by a moving car and got up fine seconds later. To a lesser extent, he was hit by a speeding go-kart, and yet again stood up and walked away just fine.
Boomstick: He could also survive getting stabbed in a fight and managed to perform surgery completely after getting impaled in the leg by a rusty spike. Raymond is also depicted as equal if not more powerful than Detective Jake Peralta, who survived smashing Adrian Pimento through a wall and smashing through a wall on a zipline!
Wiz: However, he still has faults. For instance, he isn’t very good in most social situations despite his high rank in the police department.
Boomstick: Holt also has a dire fear of getting trapped in the elevator and is also lactose intolerant, which both seem… oddly specific. And, whenever people he cares about are in a dire situation, he’ll forget to think straight and rush in headfirst, making him prone to bad decisions.
Wiz: As emotionally distant as he seems, Captain Holt is an understanding and brilliant detective who, through years of fighting against discrimination and assisting in taking criminals down, proves his worth as an NYPD captain.
Captain Holt: "Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place. So thank you."
