Interlude[]

Wiz: "Chapter 6. In all great teams of 5, a 6th warrior will eventually rise to the challenge to do things the original 5 members never could."

Boomstick: "Like Calem, the strongest Trainer in Kalos."

Wiz: "Or Taiki, the General of the Xros Heart."

Boomstick: "He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick."

Wiz: "And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle."

Calem[]

Taiki[]

Wiz: "Imagine waking up from a dream one morning. You're standing in the middle of a warzone, surrounded by strange creatures, & you use an odd device to combine them all into a titanic robot warrior to tear through the enemy lines."

Boomstick: "That sounds awesome, but I mean, it's just a dream. Right?"

Wiz: "It was, until it became a reality. That's what happened to Taiki Kudou."

Boomstick: "Dude was just minding his own business, playing sports until he passed out, when he suddenly sensed a disturbance."

Wiz: "Something, or someone, was calling out to him."

Boomstick: "Turns out, it was a Digimon named Shoutmon, just chilling out in an alley. Nothing special, dude was just on his deathbed."

Wiz: "Taiki, being the pure soul that he is, wanted to help Shoutmon, & he got his wish when the odd device from his dreams appeared before him, the Xros Loader."

Boomstick: "With this thing, he was able to save Shoutmon... AAAAAND get him & his friends yeeted to the Digital World."

Wiz: "Taiki's dream was slowly coming true, as he & his friends were dropped into the middle of a warzone between creatures unlike anything they'd seen before. Luckily, Shoutmon had fully healed thanks to the Xros Loader, & was ready to protect his new friends alongside his other Digimon allies, like Ballistamon."

Boomstick: "Too bad they're losing. The leader of the enemy squadron decided to absorb his soldiers & become a giant armored lion, WITH A CHAINSAW ARM!"

Wiz: "As hope seemed lost, the Xros Loader came to the rescue once again, as Taiki used its power to fuse Shoutmon & Ballistamon into a more powerful Digimon. Thanks to this, Taiki & Shoutmon were able to win the battle, & live to see another day."

Boomstick: "So happy ending, right?"

Wiz: "Boomstick that was the first episode."

Boomstick: "Oh".

Wiz: "Turns out the Digital World is in bad shape. Years in the past, Lord Bagramon attempted to conquer both the Human & Digital Worlds. He was held back for a time by Legendary Digimon who uphold justice in the world, but soon catastrophe struck."

Boomstick: "Those dang humans went & advanced their technology, which inadvertently caused the Digital World to explode into 108 pieces, as well as scattering all those heroic Digimon across its remnants."

Wiz: "Without heroes to defend it, the Digital World was slowly falling under the Bagra Army's control."

Boomstick: "That's where Taiki comes in. Y'see, with the Digital World in such turmoil, Shoutmon aimed to defeat the Bagra Army & become the Digimon King, leading the Digital World into a new age of prosperity. His near-death experience should tell you how well that went."

Wiz: "But with Taiki & the Xros Loader on his side, he & his army actually stood a fighting chance. Taiki was reluctant at first, wanting to get himself & his friends back to the human world, but pretty soon he was on board with helping Shoutmon save the Digital World, forming the army now known as Xros Heart."

Boomstick: "This was no easy adventure either. These guys got captured & nearly killed on multiple occasions. They lost a few allies here & there, & had to face quite a bit of personal growth & tragic backstories. In the end though, Xros Heart became a force to be reckoned with, & with the help of all the friends they made along the way, Xros Heart was able to defeat Bagramon & save both the Human & Digital Worlds."

Wiz: "Their adventure didn't end there, but let's be honest, Digimon Hunters isn't going to add much to this analysis."

Boomstick: "So then let's get to the good stuff! Taiki Kudou serves as the general of Xros Heart, giving orders & forming strategies to help his team win battles. He has great awareness of his allies, & is pretty good at recognizing trickery. On top of that, he knows how to make the best use of his soldiers, be it through their natural abilities, or how he can fuse'em together into something useful."

Wiz: "On his own, Taiki is surprisingly strong. He can go toe-to-toe with some of the weaker members of the Bagra Army, like Hangyomon. Assuming Hangyomon is similar in strength to Pteramon & his bombs, Taiki would compare to a strength worth 769 Megajoules. That's not to mention he took a hit from SkullMeramon, whose strength should be around 4 Tons of TNT via scaling."

Boomstick: "Did we mention that Taiki is trained in the art of swordplay? Thanks to his skill in kendo, he's actually quite proficient in wielding an actual sword, & even used a sword to break his opponent's sword. Yet this all pales in comparison to the Xros Loader itself."

Wiz: "The Xros Loader possesses a form of dimensional storage that allows it to hold a seemingly limitless number of Digimon. This allows Taiki to bring all of Xros Heart with him anywhere he goes. Any Digimon stored within the Xros Loader will gradually have their wounds healed, this was how Taiki saved Shoutmon at the beginning of the show. But most important of all is its power of DigiXros."

Boomstick: "This is the bread & butter of Xros Heart, they named their dang army after it, the entire show even! With this power, Taiki can fuse a seemingly endless number of Digimon together to form stronger & more versatile allies."

Wiz: "Speaking of allies, we should actually cover the army of Xros Heart itself. First of all is the king of the Digital World himself, Shoutmon. He puts the heart in Xros Heart, & specializes in the power of willpower. In combat, he wields his McField brand mic like a club, bludgeoning enemies & shattering stone. His moves include Rock Damashi, where he throws a fireball, & Soul Crusher, where he screams into his mic to blast foes with the power of his soul. He's strong enough to pulverize stone walls, & can run at speeds just under Mach 1, not to mention he can react to missiles. He did all that when he was young, after 100 years of being king, Shoutmon has become much stronger."

Boomstick: "After that is Shoutmon's closest friend, Ballistamon. What he lacks in Shoutmon's speed, he makes up for in raw strength, easily trading blows with MadLeomon, the one responsible for nearly killing Shoutmon. His moves include Horn Breaker, where he rams the enemy with his beetle-like horn, Heavy Speaker, where he blasts the enemy with a soundwave, & Ultimate Speaker, where he unleashes a soundwave so destructive that it can obliterate Digimon like Olegmon, who can fight country-busters. And if the situation calls for it, he can create communication devices to talk with allies, & decoys to distract foes."

Wiz: "Next up is Dorulumon, a former member of the Bagra Army who changed sides after seeing how horrible his masters were. Dorulumon's strength is great enough to rival enemies stronger than even Ballistamon, & he should scale to SkullMeramon, who deflected an electric attack, putting his speed just under Mach 5. His moves include Drill Buster, where he fires the drill on his head with incredible accuracy, Dorulu Tornado, where he creates a tornado using his drill, & Drill Blader, where he turns his drill giant & rides it around to shred foes. On top of that, he has high-level reflexes that cause him to attack things at the first sense of danger, even if said danger is barely apparent."

[Popup: The enemy Splashmon once set up traps in the form of lotion corrupted by water spirits (among other things). The lotion was completely unsuspecting from the outside, but Dorulumon still blew it up, blaming his reflexes & not even knowing why he did it.]

Boomstick: "Then there's Cutemon... how'd I end up with the boring one? Anyways, Cutemon's less of a fighter, his ability is actually to heal others... wait this thing is a boy? Anyways, Cutemon can heal people from close or long range, & his only limits are severe wounds, & that he can't heal others when injured. Guy gets so distracted by his own pain that he can't even heal himself, crybaby. While he's not very strong, he still has the ability to sing at such a frequency that it harms others, & can even blow up an oven."

Wiz: "Coming next is Beelzemon, another former member of the Bagra Army. Originally a Reapmon, he Digivolved after seeing the error of his ways & coming to grips with his past, reforming into a hero serving in Xros Heart. With his wings, Beelzemon can fly at high speeds that should exceed that of MailBirdramon, who can fly at just under Mach 10. In battle, he wields the Berenja gun, as well as the much larger Berenja SDX, both capable of firing high-speed energy blasts. With his strength, Beelzemon was able to assist in the defeat of the massive HiMachinedramon."

Boomstick: "Up next is Knightmon, a noble knight wielding a massive sword & shield. He serves as the leader of the PaunChessmon, who also serve in Xros Heart. When Xros Heart fought the Bagra Army in the Shinobi Zone, he fought against Gaiomon, who should be on a similar level to Dorulumon. His moves include Berserk Sword, where he swings his sword like a berserker, & Checkmate Break, where he teams up with the PaunChessmon to create a flying forcefield to defend himself & his allies."

Wiz: "Next is Starmon & his Pickmon, a group of small Digimon who are best known for their fusion potential. On their own, they're not very strong, but their numbers help to make up for that, swarming & attacking foes in large groups. It actually helps that they're so small, as that just makes them harder to hit."

Boomstick: "After that is Beastmon who... jeez, the stuff they'll put in kids shows. Anyways, Beastmon doesn't seem like much at first, she's slow, lazy, ditzy, kind of surprising how she became a ruler at all. Don't let all that fool you though, all she needs is some proper motivation... mice. Just seeing a mouse will utterly enthrall her, bringing out the violent hunter lying dormant within. With this, she was able to tear apart Tyutyumon, a giant mouse whose on a similar level to Beelzemon."

Wiz: "The next member is Darkdramon, who is actually one of the Legendary Digimon who fought the Bagra Army. Thanks to the efforts of Xros Heart, he & the others were revived, & now serve in their army. With his Gigastick Lance, Darkdramon has helped fight against Arkadimon, a Digimon similar in strength to Beelzemon."

Boomstick: "Then there's Garurumon, another Legendary Digimon. If you're familiar with Digimon Adventure, then he functions as you'd expect. He runs around at high speeds, spewing hot blue flames from his mouth. He challenged AncientVolcanomon, a Digimon who casually made a Magnitude 5 earthquake, though he ultimately lost to him."

Wiz: "After that is Leviamon, another Legendary Digimon & one of the more dangerous members of Xros Heart. A massive crocodile said to have unimaginable power, Leviamon can control water, & was strong enough to easily maim Ebidramon, who was far stronger than Dorulumon."

Boomstick: "But we're still missing one very important member. When things get tough for Xros Heart, they bring out one of their single most powerful members. Shoutmon's evolved formed, OmegaShoutmon. This guy doesn't just look awesome, but he's actually inherited power from Omegamon, one of the coolest Digimon ever. He's incredibly fast & powerful, having defeated Tactimon, who's stronger than Lucemon, a Digimon who was absorbing a country-sized zone. His moves include Heavy Metal Vulcan, where he converts his passion into firepower shot from his chest, Victorize Banking, where he fires a V-shaped projectile from his head, Hard Rock Damashi, where he creates fireballs to strike the foe at long or melee range, Beat Slash, where he turns his legs into a drill that shreds foes, & finally Omega the Fusion, where he converts his energy into an Omegamon-shaped aura that he hurls at the foe."

Wiz: "There are plenty of other Digimon in the army, but they don't do a whole lot. Members such as Dondokomon, Jijimon, Lillymon, ChibiKamemon, Revolmon, Monitamon, Spadamon, Wisemon, Agumon, Examon, Gatomon, Guilmon, Impmon, MagnaAngemon, MarineAngemon, MetalGarurumon, Patamon, Veemon, & WarGreymon. Many of them have little to no feats, while others serve a very particular use. Even so, some of them do come in useful. Examon & WarGreymon can create protective fields, Impmon can create walls of fire, MagnaAngemon can create portals that send enemies to another location, MarineAngemon can briefly infatuate enemies, & Patamon can create a path of clouds that allow grounded members to get into the sky. Omegamon is also part of the army, but he doesn't do much either. Considering that OmegaShoutmon inherits power from Omegamon, we can assume he's equal to or stronger than OmegaShoutmon. Besides that, every member can be fused with other Digimon to strengthen each other."

Boomstick: "Speaking of fusions, there's like a dozen of them to cover. By fusing Starmon & the Pickmons together, Taiki can create the Star Sword or the Star Axe, which can be wielded by... well whoever can wield it. Even humans can use these things."

Wiz: "Dorulumon has some fusions of his own. By fusing with a Digimon he trusts, Dorulumon becomes a pair of cannons that must be controlled manually by another Digimon. It drops his defensive power, but maximizes his power output. If he fuses with PaunChessmon, he gets a set of armor & the ability to shoot energy blades from his tail. He can also fuse with the Pickmons to turn his tail into a helicopter, allowing him to fly in an admittedly unflattering way."

Dorulumon: "I hope Cutemon's not watching."

Boomstick: "By fusing Beastmon & Ballistamon, Taiki creates... oh that is cursed. Erm, anyways, he creates BalliBeastmon, which uses belly dancing to hypnotize foes. Thankfully, this fusion maintains Ballistamon's sound-based attacks, giving it offensive options outside of hypnotism."

Wiz: "By fusing his 3 Monitamon together, he creates Hi-VisionMonitamon. He can shoot fire, water, wind, & lightning."

Boomstick: "By fusing Ballistamon with Revolmon, Ballistamon is equipped with revolvers that shoot energy shots surrounded by soundwaves."

Wiz: "By fusing together Cutemon, Knightmon, Beastmon, Dondokomon, ChibiKamemon, PaunChessmon, & Jijimon, Taiki creates the massive G-Cutemon. By beating the drum on its belly, G-Cutemon can fire off large waves of sound that obliterate hordes of enemies. Its only weakness is that he's kind of a crybaby, & retreats from battle after just a couple hits."

Boomstick: "But now let's get to the main course, the Shoutmon fusions. By fusing Shoutmon & Ballistamon, Taiki creates Shoutmon X2. This form combines Ballistamon's power with Shoutmon's speed. Their signature move is Buddy Blaster, where they fire an explosive ball of electricity."

Wiz: "By fusing Shoutmon, Ballistamon, Dorulumon, Starmon, & the Pickmons, Taiki creates Shoutmon X4, the robot titan from his dreams. wielding a massive Star Sword, X4 cuts down foes with incredible strength. He's taken on foes like AncientVolcanomon, EBEmon, Neptunemon, GranLocomon, & MetalGreymon, all who are on a similar level to Digimon that can create country-wide earthquakes. His moves are Three Victorize, where he fires a beam from the V on his chest to mow down enemies, Three Victorize Maximum, a stronger version of Three Victorize, & Victorize Boomerang, where he throws the V on his chest like a boomerang."

[Popup: Shoutmon X3 is literally just X4 without the sword, so we skipped him.]

Boomstick: "Shoutmon X4 is already a powerful warrior, but he becomes stronger with even more fusions. By fusing Beelzemon with Shoutmon X4, Taiki forms Shoutmon X4B, giving X4 centaur legs, enhanced speed, & the Berenja SDX built into his abdomen. With his speed & guns, Shoutmon X4B runs down foes as it blasts them to oblivion."

Wiz: "By fusing Knightmon with Shoutmon X4, Taiki forms Shoutmon X4K, giving X4 an improved sword, a massive shield, & a neat cape. He defeated both Daipenmon & Bulbmon. His moves are pretty much the same as Shoutmon X4, just with an enhanced sword & a shield."

Boomstick: "By fusing Spadamon with Shoutmon X4, Taiki forms Shoutmon X4S, giving X4 a massive lance to dual-wield against foes. He defeated GigaWaruMonzaemon, & is said to cut zones to pieces with his blades. His signature move is Victory Brave, where he extends a blade of light from his lance before cutting down his foes. Okay so next is Shoutmon X5 right?"

Wiz: "Actually, this fight only includes Taiki's Digimon. Without help from Nene or Kiriha to lend Sparrowmon or ZekeGreymon, Taiki will not be able to form stronger Digimon like Shoutmon X5 or X7."

Boomstick: "WHAT!? But those are like the strongest members of Xros Heart!"

Wiz: "Sorry Boomstick, but without outside help, it just won't be possible. Taiki will just have to work with what he's got, something he's really quite good at actually."

Boomstick: "*Sigh* I guess we'll cover the scaling chain then."

Wiz: "Yeah, Digimon Xros Wars is a bit crazy with its scaling, so we're gonna have to dedicate a whole section to it."

  • Pteramon drops three bombs: 0.18 Tons of TNT (per bomb)
    • Who scales: ChibiKamemon, Monitamon, Cutemon, PaunChessmon, Spadamon, Pickmon, Starmon
      • While it might seem strange to scale smaller & weaker Digimon to Bagra Army soldiers like this, characters like Cutemon & Starmon have been shown harming characters with much stronger feats, so it's not unreasonable to scale them to a low-end feat like this.
  • Shoutmon pulverizes a wall: 1.65 Tons of TNT
    • Who scales: Dondokomon, Shoutmon, Ballistamon, Knightmon, Shoutmon X2, Star Sword & Star Axe, Hi-VisionMonitamon, Dorulumon, Drill Cannon, Shoutmon X3
  • Blastmon, DeckerGreymon, & Bulbmon make quakes in the Disc Zone: 52 Gigatons of TNT
    • Who scales: King Shoutmon, Garurumon, Shoutmon X4, Beelzemon, Beastmon, BalliBeastmon, Darkdramon, Greatest Cutemon, Leviamon, Shoutmon X4S, Shoutmon X4K, Shoutmon X4B
  • Lucemon absorbs the Heaven Zone: 7 Teratons of TNT
    • Who scales: OmegaShoutmon, Omegamon

Boomstick: "So that's everything right?"

Wiz: "Actually, we're missing ONE LAST THING. The very symbol of Shoutmon's kingship."

Boomstick: "Oh yeah, the Code Crown. Y'see, when the Digital World was shattered, each Zone held a piece of an artifact known as the Code Crown. Each piece had complete control over its respective Zone, & putting them all together would give its user complete control over the Digital World. After defeating Bagramon himself, Shoutmon became the owner of the complete Code Crown. This thing is strong enough to remake the entire Digital World in its user's image, & the Digital World is its own timeline separate from the Human World. Heck, Bagramon was gonna use its power to control both the Digital & Human Worlds."

Wiz: "The Code Crown can control time & space, allowing users to trap enemies in space-time. It can create portals between worlds, repel enemies, reshape the environment, resurrect fallen allies, & even purify targets. Suffice to say, it's everything it was hyped up to be."

Boomstick: "Taiki can even fuse this thing into his Digimon to amp them with the power of the Code Crown, similar to how Bagramon himself absorbed it into his body. Heck, it was the power of the Code Crown that helped Mikey form Shoutmon X7F Superior Mode, one of the strongest Digimon ever."

Wiz: "For being such a large army reliant on fusion, Xros Heart doesn't have any standout weaknesses, besides a few weak links like Cutemon & Beastmon. Taiki's biggest weakness is that he tends to overexert himself in physical activities, though this has almost never happened at pivotal moments. The army is prepared for just about anything."

Boomstick: "Overall, Taiki has more than proved himself as a worthy general... & I bet he's glad he helped Shoutmon, else Bagramon would be ruling over the humans right now."
