Doctor Reginald Bushroot, commonly referred to as Bushroot, is a major antagonist and a recurring villain in the Darkwing Duck franchise, as well as DuckTales 2017. He was a scientist who mutated himself, and is a member of the Fearsome Five (other members include NegaDuck, Liquidator, Megavolt, and Quackerjack).

History[]
Bushroot, even when he wasn't a plant, was always an outcast. He was a scientist that worked at St. Canard University. His colleagues, Larson and Gary, loved to bully him. His other colleague, Rhoda Dendron, was nice to him, as a contrast to Larson and Gary's behaviour. Bushroot developed a method to end world hunger in the form of allowing people to have the ability of photosynthesis through trading a plant's plasma to a test subject. The university Dean, however, was utterly uninterested, as they couldn't profit from it. In a fit of scientific rage, Bushroot attempted to conduct the method on himself. It seemed to not work at first, but he slowly transformed into a mutant half-duck, half-plant creature (the plant half being Lyceum Nycanthropus). When he arrived to his lab, he was promptly shunned by Larson and Gary, which caused him to storm out of the university. Later that night, Bushroot seemingly killed the two bullies by turning them into bushes, and attempted to make Rhoda his bride by making her a hybrid, too. His efforts were ultimately stopped by none other than Darkwing Duck. Bushroot would go on to fight Darkwing multiple times and join the Fearsome Five, led by NegaDuck.
Bushroot made an appearance in the Darkwing Duck video game as a boss fight.
