Branch (Trolls) vs. PaRappa the Rapper is the 1st episode of NB's Series; Death Battle: Toon Brawlers.
Interlude[]
Narwhal: Music. An ancient form of talent with many uses. To persuade, intimidate, and entertain. And these two cartoon stars come to mind the most often. I guess.
Doctor: Branch, the over-cautious paranoid survivalist in Troll Village.
Macho: And PaRappa the Rapper, the paper-thin rapping dog in PaRappa Town. I’m Macho Chipz, He’s Doctor Plagues, that sea mammal is The Narwhal, and the dude over here is Hydro.
Hydro: And no matter if they're innocent or not, it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skill, to find out who would win in this new show called... Death Battle: Toon Brawlers. But first, we gotta analyze.
Branch[]
Narwhal: In a distant land lies a colorful Kingdom known as Troll Kingdom
Macho: Is that some weird Disneyworld thing?
Hydro: Not even close. Troll Village is a location within Troll Kingdom that is home to the Pop Trolls.
Macho: So there is a jazz tribe, and a techno tribe, and that stuff?
Doctor: In this battle though, is a Troll who is the over-cautious paranoid survivalist, at least in his mind.
(cue My Singing Monsters - Fire Haven Song Instrumental)
Narwhal: Branch Bronze is the over-cautious paranoid survivalist in Troll Village, who lives in fear of invasion from the Bergens. The only Troll in the village who doesn't sing, dance or hug, Branch lives a disgruntled existence, constantly trying to prepare for the worst. However, he's also a lovely character.
Hydro: Years before the events of the film, Branch was a happy Troll who lived with his grandmother in the Troll Tree. When singing one day, he attracted the attention of a Bergen who tried to grab him to eat.
Doctor: However, his grandmother pushed him out of the way and was taken instead. A traumatized Branch blamed himself, refusing to sing after that, his color turning gray in the process.
PaRappa the Rapper[]
(cue PlayStation 4 System Music)
Doctor: Long ago, in 1995... Sony released The PlayStation, and being a little "in your face" tool against Nintendo, and entering the video game market to dominate the Sega Saturn.
Macho: And that is even long before that goddamn Emoji Movie crap.
Narwhal: The Playstation was one of the biggest names of video game history, I'm so small!
Hydro: But for this Death Battle, from PlayStation, we are talking about the hip hop hero, the very true king of rhythm games, the Duke of NanaOn-Sha, and the mascot of Playstation 1, named PaRappa the Rapper.
(Stop Music)
Macho: I thought the console mascots are Crash Bandicoot And Spyro the Dragon, Hy.
Hydro: No Macho, but while we love Crash & Spyro, Sony never owned the rights to either of them.
Macho: Oh yeah, that crap about Crash & Spyro about is true.
(cue Parappa the Rapper 2 OST - PaRappa Appearance 2)
Hydro: Urgh. So anyway, PaRappa spawned two follow-up titles; a guitar-based spin-off titled Um Jammer Lammy, released in 1999 for the PlayStation, and a direct sequel, PaRappa the Rapper 2, released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. An anime television series based on the games aired in Japan between April 2001 and January 2002, with a short spin-off series airing from October 2016.
Macho: What's under the hat?
Doctor: In the final episode of the anime, PaRappa's hat finally comes off, and while it isn't revealed to us, the audience, PaRappa's friends who witnessed him with his hat off freaked out.
Macho: Seriously, what's he hiding under this thing?
Narwhal: PaRappa is very self aware of what's under his hat and doesn't want people to see him with out it.
Macho: COME ON, I WANT TO SEE HIM WITHOUT HIS HAT!!!
Doctor: MACHO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
(cue Nona Reeves Love together (Parappa the Rapper Anime Mix Instrumental) - 0:18)
Narwhal: While Doc sprays Macho like a obedience learning dog, let's talk about our rapping dog's story, PaRappa is a paper-thin rapping dog, who is trying to win the heart of a flower-like girl named Sunny Funny. However, he is intimidated by the presence of Joe Chin, a rich, narcissistic dog who goes overboard with his attempts to impress Sunny.
Hydro: To impress Sunny Funny, PaRappa learns to fight at a kung-fu dojo, and takes a driver's education course to get his license. However, when he crashes his dad's car, he has to earn money at a flea market to pay for it. When Sunny's birthday comes up, PaRappa has to get her a cake, but ends up ruining it after an encounter with Joe. He makes a new one by watching a cooking show and proceeds to eat a lot of it on the day.
Narwhal: When spending some time alone with Sunny, he is suddenly overcome with the need to go to the bathroom and has to rap against his former teachers to get to the front of the queue. Then one night, PaRappa is invited to Club Fun, and asks Sunny to go with him, to which she agrees. PaRappa then raps on stage with everybody, rapping solo at the end of the song and expressing his feelings for Sunny.
Doctor: I'm back, In Um Jammer Lammy, he and his friend are in an attempt to start their own rock band after being enlisted as a helper for MilkCan, like Lammy; a very shy, timid and otherwise sheepish girl, and the hip feline front vocalist with a very energetic personality; Katy.
Macho: And my personal favorite, the cute yet strong dynamiteheaded hamster-like drummer and bookworm with a short temper that speaks in gibberish who is best known as... Ma-san, ooh wow I wish I had a daughter like her.
Doctor: Jeez, this is a bit barbaric.
(cue PaRappa the Rapper 2 OST - Boring Again)
Hydro: But back to the story, in PaRappa the Rapper 2, PaRappa had won a hundred years supply of noodles (from a burger shop coupon) and had grown tired of eating them. PaRappa seeks to complete a number of tasks, such as getting a job at a Beard Burger restaurant.
Doctor: The plot continues to become more bizarre as the story ensues and it is slowly revealed that all of the food in town is being turned into noodles by a military dictator. He and his friends get shrunk by his father's invention, so he helps coach them back to normal size with the help of Guru Ant. PaRappa gets drafted into the army and must complete a military boot camp training course with Instructor Moosesha.
Narwhal: PaRappa confronts the inconsiderate Colonel Noodle. The Colonel turns out to be Beard Burger Master's son, who has become sick of eating burgers. PaRappa convinces him that noodles aren't the only food around.
(Cue Madeon - Finale)
Macho: Fine, he can stretch his arms, he have learn karate from him that is unarmed combat that deals with strikes and blocking them.
Doctor: And in PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale he learn to ram his foes with his shoulders, uppercut, dive kick with his skateboard, flip with skateboard, thousands kicks on his enemies below him, thousands punches, sweep kick, and pull Boxy Boy upward Oh before ask who's Boxy Boy, he's a talking stereo player, supposedly made by Papa Parappa; who in PaRappa the Rapper 2, is revealed that he is an inventor, as a gift to Parappa.
(Few shots of Boxy Boy and in the last shot, he looks very confident.)
Narwhal: Please, if PaRappa can do it. So, can I. He can use Allstar moves to kill his foes with one shot. There are romantic kick, and no, it’s not where he kick with hearts. It where he do somersault kick that launch energy.
Hydro: He have also have him pull out his skateboard to ram into people by ramming into them.
Macho: And his greatest Allstar attack, he start singing I gotta believe that released a powerful song blast that kill anyone who is in 38 feet radius.
Doctor: He carries a microphone to ensnare people or pull them closer like scorpion. Get over here!
Narwhal: So he carry his skateboard that he carries that can reflect projectiles, boxy boy that released sound waves, baseball bat, and chainsaw.
Hydro: He able to lift a giant pink dog that should weigh 14,000 pounds and should be comparable to Katy Kat who throw a guitar out of orbit into another planet that would need 416,171,160,276,881 joules of energy or enough to destroy a town.
Macho: He got twisted, crushed, stretch, fallen from the sky, take a hit from the truck that launch them into the air or 50,000,000,000,000 joules of energy that can destroy a town.
Doctor: He even survive a asteroid hitting him in the head as a giant or 50,000,000,000,000,000 joules that would destroy a city.
Narwhal: And he have catch up to a car to outran a missiles that should travel 75,000 miles per hour and comparable to Lammy who can catch guitar that travel 5.5% the speed of light.
Hydro: But PaRappa has one flaw. He's not that much of a fighter, since the only combat experience he has is from Battle Royale.
Macho: But the hip-hop hero won't let you walk away once you're in a fight with him and all because he believes in himself!
PaRappa: "Yeah, I know! I gotta Believe!"

The Toon Brawl[]
Intro[]
The scene starts in the forset. Branch was attacked by the Reggaeton and K-Pop troll bounty hunters who are sent by Barb, but as he's about to fight them, a stranger was walking around looking for his friends, which scar the bounty hunters away.
This stranger was not a resident of Troll Village. In fact, it wasn't a Troll at all. Instead, it was a young dog.
The dog was wearing baggy blue pants, a light blue sleeveless shirt, red shoes, and an orange beanie with a small frog painted on the front. But this was not the young dog's most noticeable feature. What stood out the most was the fact that this dog did not appear to exist in the same dimension as Branch. He appeared to be a very flat being... almost as if he was made of paper. The dog then notices Branch getting angry at him for scaring the troll bounty hunters away.
(Cue PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale - Rival Boss Light Intro)
???: May I help you?
Branch: Who are you, and why did you scar them away? Someone had to stop the troll bounty hunters, and that someone is me!
???: Name's PaRappa, and why would you want to stop them? They're having fun.
Branch: It may look like they're having fun to you; but those troll bounty hunters are really trying to take over the planet! And what about you? You must be working with Barb the Queen of the Rock Trolls too!
PaRappa: Queen Barb? I don't even know a queen called Barb! I work with Chop Chop Master Onion! I don't think he's trying to take over the world....yet.
Branch: And what makes you think you troll can stop me? Are you going to bite my leg to make me stop?
After thinking for a moment about the severity of the battle ahead of him, PaRappa said to himself.
PaRappa: Yeah... I gotta believe!
HERE WE GO!!![]
(Cue PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale - Rival Boss Light)
They both run up to each other, pulling back their fists. Branch punches toward PaRappa, but the dog dodges the blows. PaRappa then responds by attempting to punch Branch twice, but the troll dodges those two blows. Branch throws another punch, but PaRappa jumps back, he then leaps up and kicks Branch back. He slides back to gather himself, and then sees PaRappa coming up toward him. The troll punches PaRappa up and then proceeds to judo kick the Dog to the other side.
Branch: Let's see what you are really made of.
PaRappa gets up to see more pots, as well as a boulder, being punched toward him. He dodges the boulder and a pot, but another pot hits him, knocking him back a bit. PaRappa gathers himself, and then pulls out his microphone. He throws the microphone towards Branch, having it grapple onto him. PaRappa pulls him back with it, causing Branch to fly foward. PaRappa lands an uppercut after Branch gets close enough. Branch flies in the air and does a flip before landing on his stomach. PaRappa leaps up and kick Branch's head.
Branch dashes into PaRappa, hair whiping him back. The troll throws another hair whip at PaRappa, who catches his fist. PaRappa punches Branch in the chest and then kicks him back. Branch slides back. After looking up, he sees PaRappa dashing toward him. PaRappa shoulder checks him as he bounces off of him. Branch staggers back up and starts running back toward PaRappa. PaRappa takes out his microphone again and attempts to grapple him with it again. PaRappa keeps throwing the microphone forward, but Branch sidesteps to dodge these attacks as he continues to run toward the Rapper. Branch leaps up and tries to kick PaRappa, but the Rapper pulls out his boombox, Boxy Boy. Boxy basts Branch away with a large blast of music.
PaRappa runs toward Branch, ready to punch him. Branch stands there, giving PaRappa a smirk. Branch dodges PaRappa's punch and grabs onto him. Branch uses his hair to throw PaRappa into the air. Before PaRappa hits the ground, unleashes a combo that consists of two punches, a sweep kick, a low punch, and then finally an uppercut that launches Branch back. PaRappa pulls out his skateboard, and stands on it. He skate toward Branch and leaps off of the skateboard, kicking Branch in the face. He manages to land back onto the board to continue riding it. PaRappa leaps up with the skateboard, he holds his skateboard up as he dashes down onto Branch. After hitting him, PaRappa continues to skate around the arena.
PaRappa skates back toward Branch , but the troll surprises him by suddenly hair whiping him off of his board. PaRappa quickly gets up and dodges two punches from Branch. Branch gives a hair whip, which PaRappa dodges accordingly as well. Branch throws another hair whip which PaRappa ducks. The troll then throws another punch that PaRappa dodges. Now open, PaRappa punches Branch in the stomach a few dozen times surprisingly quickly.
PaRappa: Chop!
PaRappa as he chops Branch in the shoulder. Branch throws another punch, but PaRappa blocks it.
PaRappa: Block!
PaRappa as he holds onto Branch's arm.
PaRappa: Kick!
PaRappa kicks Branch away from him. Branch is knocked to the other side of the arena, where he lie defeated. PaRappa runs over to his fallen opponent.
Branch: Bad...Troll!
PaRappa: I'm not a troll! I'm a dog!
Then PaRappa takes out his boom box and slams it on the ground. the ensuing shockwave hits, the opponent is swarmed by a large group of people from PaRappa's universe. PaRappa then begins a rap. During the lyrics "You gotta do what? I gotta redeem!", Branch is pushed around above the heads of the crowd like a beach ball. During the lyrics "You sure about that? I gotta relieve!", the Branch is tossed towards the large speakers behind PaRappa, the soundwaves launching him away. During the lyrics "You gotta do what? I gotta receive!", Branch crashes into an electric neon sign and gets shocked. To end it, PaRappa performs the final lyrics, "But most important...I gotta believe!" and strikes a pose, causing a flash of light to engulf Branch.
Branch: "AAAAAAH-"
(Music stops)
Branch was nothing but burnt hair pieces.
PaRappa: You didn't believe hard enough, man! Believing will help accomplish anything!
VICTORY!!![]
As PaRappa skateboarded his way back to PaRappa Town, he saw his friends; Sunny Funny, PJ Berri, Lammy, Katy Kat, Ma-san, Matt Major and Paula Fox were waiting for him.
PaRappa: The gang! I thought I'd never see them again.
PJ Berri: PaRappa! You're back!
Katy Kat: We've all been wondering where you went.
PaRappa: It's good to see you all, too. Let's go to the Club Fun!
Sunny Funny: Sounds fun! Are you going to perform, PaRappa?
PaRappa: Yeah!
Results[]
Hydro: Nothing better than a party after the weirdest battle ever with the paranoid survivalist in Troll Kingdom.
Doctor: This was nowhere a close call of a match, even though Branch may have been smarter and had more weapons than PaRappa, that's all he had on him, PaRappa was faster, more skilled, was stronger, more Durable, and was more experienced. In short words, PaRappa was superior compared to Branch.
CaveMacho: I guess that raps it up for Branch.
Narwhal: The winner is PaRappa the Rapper.
PaRappa: Thank you, thank you everybody.
