- Boom Boom's main method of attack involves twirling his arns at high speeds and charging at foes in hope that they'll lamd hits.
- Boom Boom is also known to spin in place like a top and charge at foes, with one incarnation being able to leave fire in his wake from pure speed, which would require hypersonic speeds.
- Boom Boom can get briefly dizzy after using this move.
- Boom Boom can spin and also jump at the same time.
- Can also jump, cause tremors with his stomps, and can duck into his shell and produce spikes from it that make aerial attacks pretty ineffective.
- Boom Boom can also hide inside his shell and spin at high enough speeds to produce afterimages which can ram into opponents for damage.

- Boom Boom can project/manipulate energy, create afterimages, and control time in Mario Tennis Aces.
