Berserker Beowulf Busts into DEATH BATTLE![]
(Cue: North American Myth War)
Necro: In the 5th century, The great Scylding clan's chief, Hrothgar built a great hall and named it Heorot. However, the noise of the construction awoke something terrible. The giant Grendel, a horrible monster that stalked those lands took offense to the construction of the hall, and attacked them every night, killing the men of the Scylding clan. For twelve long years, Grendel's wrath would go unchecked. None could stop him. His skin was iron. He knew things, things about the men that they had never told anyone, and worst of all, he grew stronger with every man he slew.
HyperS: When all seemed lost, hope arrived at the Heorot's doorstep. And that hope's name, was BEOWULF.
Necro: Accompanied by his fifteen most trusted friends, Beowulf decided to stay the night at the Heorot. When Grendel came back to attack that night, Beowulf met him. Grendel attacked, and Beowulf fought him unarmed. The fight did not last long. Beowulf beat down Grendel and ripped his arm off. Grendel ran away, and the Scylding thought the worst of it was over.
HyperS: But what they did know was that Grendel was a big momma's boy, so his mom came down to get revenge for her son. She kidnapped one of Hrothgar's men, and took back Grendel's arm before trying to escape. Beowulf gave chase, and took the heads of both Grendel and his mother. With the scourge of the Scylding slain, Beowulf departed.
Necro: Beowulf was given many treasures, and was hailed as a hero, but he found himself disinterested. He'd just had the best fights of his life, but his people wanted more from him, and all he wanted was peace, his fighting spirit dampened. Slowly, he became the target of ridicule. However, five years later, when their King Hygelac died, Beowulf was their first choice to become the next king.
HyperS: Beowulf became king, and just in time for a new threat to arise. A deadly nameless dragon was angry with the people of Beowulf's lands, who had been stealing it's treasure from it. And so it attacked them. Hundreds of lives were lost and his land fell into disarray, spurring Beowulf to battle the dragon himself.
Necro: So Beowulf set out to face the dragon. Only one of his companions, a man named Wiglaf, would follow him. In this battle, Beowulf's youthful fighting spirit reignited and blazed brighter than every before. His old bones found their old strength once more, and Beowulf slew the fire dragon. Unfortunately for the hero, the dragon's breath had infected him with a deadly poison, which killed Beowulf shortly after he killed the dragon. As he died, he told Wiglaf to use the dragon's treasures for the good of the people.
HyperS: Beowulf would be remembered as one of the greatest heroes of Europe, and his legend would be recorded as the very first European epic poem. But death wasn't the end for Beowulf. His actions had been notable enough that his name and spirit were recorded in the Throne of Heroes, a codex that held the names and legends of heroes and villains from around the world, so that they could be summoned again in the future when humanity had need of them.
Necro: So Beowulf began his life as a Servant, an advanced spiritual familiar with power far beyond humans. These servants are divided into seven main classes, and several extra classes. Beowulf is most commonly summoned as a Berserker class servant, a warrior who draws their strength from madness, due to the name Beowulf sharing the same origin as the word Berserk.
HyperS: As a Berserker, Beowulf has access to the class's main and most powerful skill, Madness Enhancement. However, since Beowulf never lost his mind in life, and only fought with his own natural strength, his rank in this skill is ranked E-, making it's effect of providing strength in exchange for mental weakness is virtually null. This means that Beowulf is always in his right mind, but his personality is a little rougher than it was in life.
Necro: Beowulf has access to four personal skills, the first of which is Berserk, ranked A. This skill eliminates mental interference such as Intimidation, Confusion or Fascination. It increases Beowulf's melee strength, and turns him into an Instinct based fighter.
HyperS: Inspired Hero, ranked A+, allows Beowulf to always "feel" the most suitable route to take in combat, allowing them to see several steps ahead of their opponents. However, thanks to being summoned as a Berserker, Beowulf may disregard his intuitions for the sake of a better fight.
Necro: Battle Continuation, ranked B, is a skill for those who cannot give up until the end. This skill allows Beowulf to endure past fatal wounds until the fight is over, just as he did in life during his final battle with that fire dragon.
HyperS: Beowulf's final skill is Perseverance in Old Age, ranked A. This skill is a compilation of knowledge of the monster he slew in life, Grendel, his mother, and that fire dragon, providing Beowulf with advantages against Giants and Dragons.
Necro: But when these skills aren't enough, Beowulf has three trump cards in the form of his Noble Phantasms. A Noble Phantasm is an ability or weapon of exceptional power from a servant's legend, and serves as their greatest technique.
HyperS: Beowulf's first Noble Phantasm is his famed red sword, Hrunting, ranked A. This magic sword can sniff out the scent of blood, making it ideal for hunting beasts. Every slash from this blade with be supernaturally aimed at the most optimal spot, meaning that even a glancing blow from this blade could prove fatal. With every successful hit, Hrunting will drink the drawn blood and grow in power.
Necro: Naegling, ranked B is Beowulf's second Noble Phantasm. This weapon is a sword in name only, being a magical club which is exceptionally good at crushing things. When this club is damaged to much, it will detonate, causing great damage to the opponent.
HyperS: Beowulf's final Noble Phantasm is by far his most powerful. Grendel Buster: Primal Conflict, ranked A+. Normally banned from use, when both Hrunting and Naegling are destroyed, Beowulf can make use of his greatest weapons, his fists. Beowulf's strength is increased to absurd levels, and he unleashes a beatdown of primal proportions. Thanks to the primeval nature of Beowulf's method of attack, this Noble Phantasm cannot be copied by technique or ability copying abilities.
Necro: Obviously, Beowulf is a total powerhouse. Aside from being built like a brick shithouse, he's strong enough to hold me close and-
HyperS: *AHEM* Beowulf was a titan among men, and is just as powerful among servants. He's strong enough to fight with and easily defeat opponents who can survive being shot with an Ishtar's Noble Phantasm, An Gal Ta Ki Gai Se, which fires an arrow that's LITERALLY MADE FROM THE PLANET VENUS!
Necro: The King of Savagery can also survive hits from beings just as strong as, or stronger than Ishtar, such as Anastasia Romanov and Ivan the Terrible. Beowulf is quite fast, easily being able to keep up with some of the fastest servants, like Billy the Kid and Atalante Alter, both of which can react and fight at many times faster than light.
HyperS: Beowulf has been around for over a thousand years, and thanks to being summoned in various different timelines, it would be fair to say that he's got some pretty extensive combat experience under his belt. He easily defeated the combine might of Robin Hood and Elizabeth Bathory single handedly, and was the only remaining warrior in the Russian Lostbelt who could fight with Anastasia Romanov, who's power threatened the entirety of human history!
Necro: As previously stated, Beowulf isn't just a mindless berserker. He's fully capable of coming up with winning strategies on the fly, even if he typically prefers the brute force approach.
HyperS: But Beowulf is not without his flaws. His love for combat is a double edged sword, and his pursuit of an exciting battle can lead to him to disregard his instincts, which had lead to his defeat on numerous occasions.
Necro: At the end of the day, Beowulf is one of the greatest heroes humanity has at their beck and call, and his might will always give pause to any Demon Gods, Beast or Alien God that threatens humanity!
“ | "As you live a life as a hero, you will definitely encounter these people. Despite having the ability to handle the problems themselves, they chose not to as they find it a bother to think and beg for help instead. My reply is this: "Shut up and do your duty." | „ |
Battle Beast Lives for DEATH BATTLE![]
HyperS: The cosmos, yeah, they’re pretty cool, wish I could get a KitKat out of them instead of a Milky Way, but oh well. Oh, wait, hang on, why the hell are there so many different alien species out there? And why is one of them a giant damn furry who has a fighting addiction? And how did he beat up a guy named Invincible... Yeah, I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s take it back now, y’all.
Necro: In the vast depths of the universe, there was a planet always in constant battle. You would think that this would bring anyone down as they get tired of it all, hoping that it would all finally end. And yet, there was one who loved it.
HyperS: Yeah, the thrill of battle, the pounding of his heart, the taste of his own blood, he loved it all. Honestly, don’t blame him, fighting is fun.
Necro: That would be Thokk, or as many would come to know him as, the Battle Beast.
HyperS: Wow, what a name. Look, I’ve seen some real unique names in my day, ranging from just letters like W, or something weird like Wiš'adel, I’ve seen a variety of names, and some even more basic ones such as Bob. But, Battle Beast? That’s gotta be one of the laziest names I’ve ever heard.
Necro: ... You literally just said a character who’s name is a singular letter. How is that not lazier?
HyperS: Because I know what le fook I am talking about, ya fook. Anyway, yeah, Thokk was a battle loving maniac who wanted the thrill of battle, to a point where despite how he was a guardian of his own home planet, he would still end up leaving it because he wanted to find a worthy opponent.
Necro: Right, and he was doing just about whatever it took to take some level of control and get some sort of thrill out of anything he could ever get, even working for Machine Head, a crime boss who-
HyperS: Who literally has a machine head, brotha is part robot and he’s proud. C’mon bro, say it proudly. “I’m part machine, and I’m proud!” Now just play the rest of the Something Smells from SpongeBob season 2 and you got yourself a spicy little concoction of entertainment.
Necro: And while working under Machine Head, he went out and decided to face off against the New Guardian of the Globe.
HyperS: If you are wondering what happened to the actual ones, they fucking died. Kind of a skill issue if you ask me.
Necro: Why are you like this?
HyperS: A lord of memes gotta do what a lord of memes gotta do to take control of this funny. Whatever I gotta do, I do what it takes, and that’s exactly how Thokk lived. He wanted to smash all your dreams into smithereens, and you can tell he enjoys it when everything is in pieces. Except for when he gets his hopes up and they fall like insects.
Necro: Which is exactly what happened with the New Guardians, as when he arrived to battle them, expecting a battle for his life, he got one of the most lopsided bouts in history.
HyperS: Yeah, it was so bad of a slaughter that brotha straight up left them, finding the whole thing with no honor due to how easy of a win it was for him, where he then Vergiled his way out by using a portal.
Necro: But the one who likely had the worst of it would have to be Mark Grayson, AKA Invincible, the half-human, half-Viltrumite hybrid.
HyperS: If you want to know what a Viltrumite is, just put the ruthlessness of an ol’ fashioned Saiyan from Dragon Ball with the strength of a Kryptonian from DC comics and when those two make a love child, you got yourself a Viltrumite.
Necro: Viltrumites in themselves are scary, the fact that they can fly at speeds massively faster than light through space itself is already impressive in itself, It’s no wonder that their empire conquered most of the cosmos themselves.
HyperS: Too bad for Thokk only fought a half one, hopefully he can fight a full blooded one eventually. Well, maybe not since he kinda got imprisoned, but while stuck there, it turned out that in that same prison there was a full-blooded Viltrumite. Omni-Man.
Necro: Nolan Grayson is the father of Invincible, and is most likely one of the strongest Viltrumites out there, so you’d think that Thokk would take this opportunity to battle with him, but this is where the context of this moment comes into play.
HyperS: Yeah, while there, another alien named Allen... the Alien had let himself get caught here to free Nolan, and during his time here, he decided to Three Days Grace up the place and start a riot. Which eventually led to Thokk to get released.
Necro: And Thokk decided to help him, but not because it’s the right thing to do, but instead it was just to satisfy his lust for battle.
HyperS: Good lord, you people need to just give him a worthy opponent already so that he can finally have his enjoyment of it chill out for a damn minute. At least he did fight some random Viltrumite while escaping the place, and even killed the bastard.
Necro: However, some time later, unknown to anyone, Thokk was found frozen in the vacuum of space, still alive, and when he was unfrozen, he would join the ranks of the Coalition of Planets, a group that was made to combat the Viltrumite’s Viltrum Empire.
HyperS: Yeah, and the dude was denying he was doing it to assist them, and we should all know by this point that he was doing this just so he could get more fights to happen, because he just couldn’t help but enjoy the love of battle still. Yeah, when carrying around a giant mace, which we probably should’ve talked about earlier.
Necro: Yeah, if you are lucky enough to not have to fight a bare handed Thokk who’d naturally resort to his claws and teeth that can pierce even a Viltrumite’s skin, he wields a golden mace, which is what he used to almost completely destroy Invincible way earlier on.
HyperS: And he sometimes wields swords, axes, and yeah, if I were you and you were having to fight him, and if you were for some reason couldn’t die a fool’s death and end it all before he got to you, it’s much better to get disemboweled by a mace than it’d be to get beaten to a pulp by them claws, teeth, and what not from a guy who’s powerful, and probably punches the best.
Necro: Luckily for his lust of battle, he participated in the Viltrumite War, where a multitude of events occurred, but the likely biggest one was when Mark, Nolan, and another Viltrumite named Thaedus flew through the planet the Viltrumites originated on, Viltrum, and blew it up!
HyperS: Yeah, quite the war, quite the war, the Red Sun would be proud of such a thing, but even after the war, Thokk was given a task that brough so much damn joy to him, and that was to go out and kill Thragg. To sum him up: Strongest Viltrumite.
Necro: Yes, Thokk was given information about how Viltrumites’ physiology was, which is where he was given that task by Allen, though this was right after he had just decimated an entire an entire planet, and killed it’s ruler, only bringing a women who begged him to take her with him.
HyperS: Yeah, and during that waiting period, Thresha, that alien woman, and him became mates, and the two of them got very busy having fun and even Thokk thought he had found love, but who cares about fun and love when the call of battle appears!? Yeah, during a fun time, Thokk was told of Thragg’s location and jumped at the occasion, ready to finish their duel and fight his worthy opponent he had been searching for for so long. Oh, yeah, after the planet exploded, he “fought” Thragg and got smacked away.
Necro: Which Thragg would mention, and mock Thokk over, yet the two saw the strength the other had and admitted they are both strong, and were about to engage in combat, until Thresha released some rognarr, a primitive alien species that even Viltrumites feared.
HyperS: Being betrayed by what he thought could’ve been his love, he and Thokk battled those primitive fucks and after it was all said and done, Thragg had been disembowel, and despite there being some other aliens appearing and then Thresha trying to command him, Thokk finally had enough.
Necro: He would accept no advantage, which his lust for the battle would prove to be his ultimate downfall, as he’d use a sword he had brought alongside him when he got there to disembowel himself, for this was not a game to him, this was his life.
HyperS: And then the two of them fought for days. Yeah, days, not minutes, not hours, but days. And at the very end of it, Thragg emerged as the winner, but Thokk still thanked him for the worthy battle after finally meeting not only his equal, but his better, ending the life of the Battle Beast.
Necro: And then his hide was used as a trophy worn by Thragg, but at the end of it, there exists a daughter of his, one that has inherited her father’s love of battle.
HyperS: So, yeah, whenever you want to look up a list of battle-crazed characters, there’s a high chance that you’re gonna see this crazy son of a gun, always having the want of a worthy opponent to fight against.
Necro: Which he would ultimately receive in the form of one of the strongest characters in his entire universe, proving that Thokk wasn’t playing when in battle, as whenever he was in it, his victory would always be drawing near, no matter what the odds were.
Battle Beast: I was promised this world offered worthy opponents! But, oh, how you disappoint. Killing you is an act of mercy.
Intermission[]
Necro: Alright, these two combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities, so let's end this debate once and for all.
HyperS: Just let me get my chocolate milk real quick because y'all know what that means! IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!
Death Battle[]
Many different alien species all lay there on the battlefield, the corpses all having been killed after everything that had occurred. And in the center of it all, there was a Viltrumite barely holding himself up, trying to throw a punch at the Battle Beast, who grabs the fist and bends their arm to where the bone was splintering out. He screams as Thokk then punches him to the ground, and lifts up his mace, and slams it down onto their skull, breaking their nose, and knocking some teeth in.
Yet, despite this, Thokk looks down at him, who is still just barely conscious, and he does it again. Causing an audible crack in the Viltrumite’s skull as it starts to break. And Thokk does it again, but now starting to continuously as a smile appears across his face as he keeps slamming the mace down as the nearly lifeless body continues to jump up from each of the strikes.
He continues to do it until he finds himself looking at what he had done, the face having caved in due to the blows, but yet, still coughing out blood, somehow just faintly holding onto his life as tears were running down his face. Battle Beast raises the mace up one final time as he slams it down with such force that the Viltrumite’s brains finally splatter all around the ground.
He raises his mace up and holds it over his head, letting the blood drip onto his own face, even licking some of it off as he continues to smirk before leaning down and picking up a large sword. He was ready to walk away until a voice was heard behind him. “Is that all you can do? Hmph, I’d send you flying.” Beowulf said with a smirk on his own face as Battle Beast turned to look at him.
Thokk merely looked at him, unammused as his smirk disappeared, “You believe that you can battle against me? I’ve come here for sport, the thrill of the hunt. If you cannot compete, then today will not be a good day.” This makes Beowulf laugh as he readies Hrunting, before speaking.
“Then let’s fight until one of us is down.” And after that was said, Thokk’s smirk returned as he spoke.
“Then let’s begin.”
And as that was said, the two readied for this new battle.
Fight![]
(Cue: Resist and Bite)
"ORA!" With that battle cry, Beowulf leapt at his foe, Naegling and Hrunting raised above his head. The Battle Beast raised his own weapons, and jumped to meet his descending foe. Their weapons collided with a shower of sparks and nuclear shockwave that split the earth below them. With their weapons locked, the brawling brutes struck out with their heads, for their bodies were just as deadly as the armaments they wielded.
Their skulls collided with another megaton shockwave, and the fighters were blasted away from each other. But neither knew the other's absence long as the Battle Beast crossed the battlefield in a single bound, striking out with his golden mace, which Beowulf met in kind with his Naegling, the black iron grinding against the golden steel like the collision of two meteors. Thokk's great sword flashed, and Hrunting struck against the edge of the blade, chipping it with its superior craftsmanship and magical enhancement.
"Perhaps you can compete?" The Battle Beast mused, piling on a touch of his feline strength. The Berserker smirked, tensing his muscles as he easily resisted his foe's pressure.
"I was gonna say the same to you!" Beowulf said, before swinging with both of his arms, tearing his weapons free from his foe. Hrunting struck, hunting the Beast's blood. Thokk attempted to side step the strike, but it knew Thokk's scent now. Hrunting's edge split his skin, drinking the warrior's blood. Red sparks began to dance across the blade as it hungered for more.
Not to be stalled by such a petty wound, The Scourge of the Twin Galaxies attacked with twin over handed strikes, his weapons brutal intention clear. Beowulf raised his blades, meeting his foe's spirit with his own. The second their weapons collided, the warriors drew them back and attacked again, each hurling a flurry of death at the other!
The sky trembled with each blow, and the earth crumbled away, but no matter the destruction neither man nor alien would give the other an inch. With an invigorated howl, The Battle Beast struck Naegling with both weapons, the force of the impact causing a chunk of black iron to snap off and fall away, revealing the glowing sapphire core of the weapon, as well as knocking the weapon from Beowulf's hand. However, the thick golden chain the connected the King of Savagery's weapons simply provided him with another route of attack. He grasped Hrunting with both hands and swung it in a wide arc, spinning on his heel as he moved, thus lifting and striking with Naegling with naught but sheer moment!
Thokk took a step back, narrowly avoiding the blunt edge of Beowulf's club. For a split second, the Berserker's back was turned as he spun. Battle Beast wasted no time and took his chance, delivering a murderous one handed smash with his mace, splitting the Berserker's skin with a golden flash! Beowulf grunted and stumbled, but quickly regained his balance, just in time for his instincts to alert him to another strike. This one would not connect, and Berserker ducked under the strike and lashed out with his foot, delivering a heavy snap kick to his foe's abdomen.
Battle Beast stumbled for the first time since he'd stepped on this planet. A manic grin spread across his face, and he locked eyes with his foe, and saw his expression mirrored.
"Tell me your name, warrior." Battle Beast said, looking upon his foe with embers of respect. This was why he came here.
"Servant, Berserker. My True Name is Beowulf, and I would be honored to know yours as well." Berserker answered, his grin wide and his eyes bright. This was what he'd been looking for.
"I am Thokk, known as the Scourge of the Twin Galaxies to some, and Battle Beast to others. You have fared better than the rest, so forgive me if our conversation ends here!" Battle Beast said, rushing towards Beowulf to resume their conflict.
"No forgiveness is needed! After all, the best communication between two men like us is done through fists!" Beowulf bellowed, leaping to meet his foe, eager to continue this battle.
Berserker's blades crashed into Battle Beast's with such force that a great fissure opened beneath them, and another hefty chunk of Naegling fell free. Thokk raked his weapons free, tearing them across Beowulf's blades, showing the earth with sparks and ripping free yet another chunk of Naegling. Hrunting flashed again, the blazing sparks dancing across it's edge as it split the Battle Beast's skin once more, blazing ever brighter as it sunk into his shoulder. As thanks for his new scar, Thokk slammed his mace into Beowulf's chest, tearing the Berserker's skin and cracking his ribs.
Beowulf knew that Naegling was on its last legs, which meant he was one step closer to fighting how he truly wanted too. He drew the blunt blade back, and lashed out at Battle Beast, who met it with his own mace. The final piece of black iron fell away, and the core began to scream, pulsing as the latent power of the weapon began to discharge. Realizing the threat at hand, Thokk, shoved his mace up against Naegling with all his might, wrenching the Noble Phantasm from Beowulf's grip, and hurling his own mace away all in the same motion, hurling them up and out of the fissure and towards a mountain range!
With a mighty burst, Naegling detonated, taking the mountain range with it, leaving behind a ruined land of molten slag and charred earth. This explosion went unobserved by either brawler, as Beowulf immediately struck out with Hrunting, an attack with Battle Beast met in kind with his own sword. The edges met once more, and Hrunting once again bit into the blade it faced. This sword's hunger really was insatiable. Their blades flashed again and again, colliding over and over, the megaton shockwaves shaving away the very world around them.
Beowulf side stepped Battle Beast's strike, and delivered a brutal overhead blow, one which his foe's blade met with equal spirit. The earth beneath them cracked again, and shattered as Beowulf shoved downwards with his supernatural might! The two brawlers began to fall, down, down, down deep into the planet beneath them.
However, simply having nothing to stand on could not stop their duel. Battle Beast and Beowulf slashed and struck at each other as they fell, shards of Battle Beast's blade falling away with every strike.
The ground was in sight, so Beowulf raised Hrunting above his head with both hands, using his Noble Phantasm to deliver his heaviest strike yet! Thokk met it in kind, striking out with great might! It was now that Battle Beast's sword hit its limit, and shattered under the pressure! The shockwave of his blade's destruction hurtled the Scourge into the ground.
Battle Beast struck the ground first, slamming into the stone floor feet first. they were now in some underground cave, illuminated only by the bubbling pits of magma that marked the field like puddles. Beowulf struck the ground next, some five meters away.
"This fight is good! Are you ready to continue?" Battle Beast asked, raising his fists.
"Yeah, you aren't bad at all! Gimmie a second..." Beowulf said, before taking Hrunting in both hands. The blade bit into his hands and drank his blood, blazing ever brighter. With a mighty bellow, Berserker snapped his remaining Noble Phantasm in two, and hurled the pieces away!
"Ahahaha! A man after my own heart! Now face me with all you've got!" Battle Beast roared allowing his foe a second for a response. Such a showing of respect warranted that at least.
"Just wouldn't be right to fight like that. Now come on! It's time to punch the hell outta each other!" Berserker Beowulf shouted, before cracking his knuckles and raising his fists in the same manner as Battle Beast.
A wide grin spread across both brawler's faces as they stepped off, rushing towards each other with their fists pulled back and ready to strike!
(Cue: Phenomenon)
Their fists collide with the other’s face, almost seeming as though a shockwave went out as they did so, yet neither of them fell back. The two looked at each other, and with a smirk on each of their faces, they both leaned back once more to throw another punch, but while Beowulf did an uppercut, Thokk attempted an overhand strike.
And when both strikes landed on the other once more, the uppercut threw Thokk up into the air and through the top of the cave, while the overhand pushed Beowulf down into the earth. Thokk let out a roar as he went back down to the ground below as Beowulf pulled himself out of the ground and jumped up to meet with Thokk in the air, with enough force to make magma erupt.
The only thing is that Beowulf ended up pushing the both of them higher up into the air, where the two started trading blows once more. A strong uppercut from Thokk, and a powerful hook from Beowulf. But then Beowulf grabbed Thokk by his hair and threw his face down to his knee.
This made blood pour from the Battle Beast’s nose, and he enjoyed it. He himself then grabbed Beowulf’s face with one hand, and spun around before throwing Beowulf back down onto the earth, the ground shaking as he did, as they are back on the surface once again.
Beowulf’s instincts kicked in right as he hit the ground, allowing him to stop Thokk from biting down on his face. He held back Thokk by the ferocious teeth of the alien, and as he did, he ended up snapping one of the smaller ones off, which didn't faze Thokk. Yet, this gave Beowulf his chance to strike once more.
While keeping one arm up to hold the Battle Beast back, he tries to stab the latter in the eye with his own tooth, but it does not go as planned as Thokk was able to grab the arm before it reached his eye. He stood up while holding Beowulf up by his arm, but before he could strike, Beowulf was able to kick Thokk in the chest with each leg, with enough force to get away.
As he did, Battle Beast was pushed back once more, his boots skidding across the dirt. He put his hand near his mouth and felt the small gap between his fangs before letting out a quick chuckle. And right thereafter, he lets out yet another roar and charges at Beowulf.
His arms out to his sides, trying to seemingly grab Beowulf, but Beowulf stands there, bracing for the impact as his hands lock up against Thokk’s while being pushed back. The two then embrace in a test of strength as Thokk starts pushing Beowulf down, while he tries to keep up.
Beowulf, however, still does not want to go down, and he is able to push up against Thokk. But then the latter bites the arm of Beowulf, making more blood spew from the king. Thokk then pulls one arm away and then uses the other arm to throw Beowulf over his head and onto the ground. Yet, when he attempts to do it once more, while in the air, Beowulf is able to then make it where he lands on his feet.
With that, he then quickly goes around and almost does a suplex to the Battle Beast, as he hit the ground, many rocks around the two jumped up slightly due to the impact. Beowulf decides to try it again, but Battle Beast is able to break the grip Beowulf had on him. And after breaking it, he then turned around and grabbed Beowulf by the neck.
Yet, Beowulf started to get the grip off of his own throat, which makes Thokk’s eyes widen slightly, being impressed by this strength, but then he pulled that arm away, and used his other arm to then slam Beowulf onto the ground. Beowulf is then pulled across the ground as Thokk pulls him across the ground before throwing him into the air.
He then jumps after the now airborne Beowulf and puts his hands together to then slam Beowulf back down to the ground. And while he did do that, Beowulf bounced off the ground, but was able to pick himself up again quickly to jump up once more.
And it was here where he did the same double overhand that Thokk had just done, making the latter fall face first onto the ground. And just to have Beowulf land on top of him, making the ground around them spike up due to it. But then before Beowulf could throw one more punch, Battle Beast leaned back and bit him.
With one of his teeth digging into the eye of Beowulf, as the other fangs dig into his head. Beowulf screamed as he grabbed the top and bottom halves of Thokk’s jaw to remove them from his skull. He then quickly threw Thokk away, letting him slide across the ground as the rocks caused his top to rip apart as well as for many different cuts to appear across the body of Thokk.
Beowulf held onto his face as he felt the blood dripping away before looking up at Battle Beast, who had just stopped himself. Realizing how torn his top was, Thokk ripped it apart as he charged at Beowulf once more, which made Beowulf smile, still finding this battle very enjoyable despite what had just happened to him as he started running towards Thokk yet again as well.
Beowulf ducked under the punch Thokk tried to throw, and threw a hook into the side of the Battle Beast, who then threw his hand down, and put a deep cut into Beowulf’s back with his claws. Beowulf, ignoring the pain from that as well, maneuvered around Thokk to throw a knee into his face. Beowulf then quickly grabbed hold of one of Battle Beast’s braids to pull him downwards to deliver a headbutt.
This headbutt almost made Thokk fall, but he kept his stance enough to throw down an overhand to try and claw Beowulf once more, who moved out of the way, making Thokk’s claws dig into the dirt below. Beowulf took this chance to throw one more punch, launching Battle Beast back and into where he had killed that Viltrumite earlier.
Beowulf ran towards Thokk, who ended up using the corpse as a blunt weapon, which knocks Beowulf down to the ground, but due to the speed and force it had been used at, the body of the Viltrumite broke in two, his blood and guts spilling onto Beowulf, and some onto Thokk as well. This, however, does not stop Beowulf as he gets back up and throws a straight jab at Thokk.
He then tries to throw another punch, but Thokk is able to catch it, Beowulf tries with his other hand, and it is caught once again, but he uses this to his advantage. As his arms are being held, he jumps up, and uses it to kick Thokk in the chin with both of his feet. This makes a couple more of Thokk’s smaller teeth be knocked out of his mouth.
Thokk lets go of Beowulf just to then uppercut him, putting him back into the air once more, and instead of jumping, he waits for Beowulf to fall back down, to then punch him in the face, with the force knocking a tooth or two out of Beowulf’s own mouth, as well as almost fly back a distance, heading towards that now destroyed mountain range.
Thokk followed suit, running after Beowulf who was still flying backwards from that force until Thokk got to him and threw one final uppercut, throwing Beowulf higher up than ever before. And Thokk still followed directly, jumping up, and punching Beowulf to where he gets launched into the remains of the mountains from earlier.
As Beowulf fell down, what happened next was something he was not prepared for, as a spiked rock went straight through his stomach as it broke off, letting him tumble to the ground and to his knees. This makes him cough out some blood as he pushes the rock out of stomach, as all the blood starts to flow from his body, not sure what to do now.
He then looks up at Thokk, who has arrived at the scene, and notices another spiked rock near him. Thokk picks up said rock, and Beowulf chuckles, expecting the Battle Beast to finish it, but instead, Thokk spoke out once more to his fallen foe. “This battle is what I have yearned for for many years. I will do nothing to sully this victory!”
And then Thokk lifts the rock over his head. “I will accept no advantage.” He then shoves the rock through his own stomach, and at such a speed that it shoots straight out from the back as the blood starts to flow from his body as well.
“You’re one honorable guy. Ah, I guess it can’t be helped. Now, are you ready to get back to it?”
"I am. Let's hold nothing back! Come at me." The Battle Beast challenged, raising his bloodied fist.
"All right! Then I guess it's time to use that. Let's kick and punch until one of us falls! I'll send you flying!" Beowulf shouted, and cracked his neck. His skin darkened, and his tattoos flashed from black to gold, and began to glow. This was the strength he had commanded in his lifetime. This was his final Noble Phantasm, one he only called upon when he faced a foe like the one who stood before him now. This was the strength that had freed Heorot and Hrothgar. This, was Grendel Buster.
"You'd better, because I'll tear you in half if you don't!" Thokk shouted back, rushing towards his foe, pouncing upon him with the might of the greatest warrior the Twin Galaxies had ever known.
(Cue: Find Your Flame)
"ORA!" Beowulf leapt with might that could only be attributed to origin of Berserkers. The dirt beneath their feet tore, and as the barreled towards one another, the air around them burst into flame, as if the air itself understood their spirits. When their fists collided, another megaton impact detonated with all the rage of a nuclear bomb, blasting away the earth and shattering the distant mountains.
Their flesh split, muscles strained, and bones groaned, but the brawling berserkers had never felt more alive. No more weapons, no more pretenses. Only the blazing of their hearts and the impact of their fists.
"ORA ORA ORA!!!!" Beowulf shouted with every punch he threw, and before long, Thokk joined him, their excitement growing and bursting with every single blow. Battle Beast stomped on the ground, anchoring himself for his next strike, one thrown with all the might of a collapsing planet. Beowulf responded in kind, and the wild hearted warrior's might combine, and sundered all around it. With a tremendous crash, the very world beneath them cracked and split in two, the core spewing plumes of magma like blood from a wound.
Thokk grabbed ahold of Beowulf's fists, and threw himself into his foe, aiming to bite into the Berserker's head. However, the servant's instincts had alerted him of this attack, and he simply swung his fists skyward, swinging his foe along with them. The Battle Beast's bite missed, and Beowulf leapt into the air, shoving himself against the earth with all the power in his legs, blasting himself into the air, through the cloud barrier at straight into the upper atmosphere. Battle Beast traveled along with him, biding his time to strike again.
As the warriors reached the atmosphere, the core had fully destabilized and the force of Beowulf's great leap was like pulling the pin on a grenade. The planet detonated, its great explosion shining as bright as a star. The blast hurled Beowulf and Battle Beast into space, and towards the great endless void. The final frontier would serve as the perfect final battlefield.
Fragments of the shattered world marked the void about them, and it was on one of these building sized chunks that the scourge and the king landed on. Battle Beast's magnificent white fur had been singed by the blast, but his wounds had been cauterized. Beowulf stood against him in the same condition, free of blood. Both warriors flashed a fierce grin at one another. A perfect chance to spill more.
Battle Beast struck first, lashing out with his claws. Beowulf blocked the attack with his forearm, allowing the alien's natural weaponry to split his skin and taste his blood. In response, Beowulf slammed his fist into Thokk's shoulder with such force that a fist sized chunk of his pelt was ripped free. Their blood spurted and hung in the space around them, as there was no gravity to command it.
The warriors exchanged another strike of the same fashion, tearing their skin and flesh and adorning this space with their honorable blood. Beowulf threw an uppercut, and it struck true, blasting Thokk off the ground. The Battle Beast recovered, and waited until he landed on another chunk of the world. he knew his foe could not stand his absence, and sure enough, Beowulf rushed after him, red light blazing from the warrior's eyes as he closed in on his chosen foe. Thokk smiled, and braced himself for impact. He caught Berserker's punch, and countered with one of his own, striking him across the face. Blood poured from the King of Savagery's nose, but this only made his smile grow all the wider.
A hundred blows, fifty thrown from each berserker. The remnant of that ruined planet was torn apart under their wrath that bore down on like the scorching heat of a detonating sun, and both warriors found themselves weightless once more, each flying away from the other until they each collided with another fragment of the busted world.
But mere distance could not hold them back. Battle Beast leapt towards Beowulf, and Beowulf towards Battle Beast. The fragments shattered beneath their feet, and when their fists collided, the shockwave seemed to shake the vastness of space itself.
Battle Beast took hold of Beowulf's shoulders, and hurled him through space, until he collided with a mass of floating rubble. Rather than simply slamming into the ground, Berserker used the rubble as a spring board to bounce back at his foe, readying a punch for him. Thokk prepared in kind, and both men struck one another with all their might!
They were both blasted backwards once more, but this time, Beowulf righted himself first. Using a passing asteroid as a launch pad, he threw himself at Battle Beast as a mighty spear, appearing before his foe in a second. The Berserker's arms wrapped around Battle Beast, and carried him onto another land mass.
This particular land mass was the size of a village, and was now the largest remaining piece of that forsaken world. Thokk slammed into its surface, which buckled under the impact, forming a large crater under the alien's mass. Beowulf released his opponent and got to his feet, and allowed his foe to the same.
Both warriors locked eyes, knowing this would be the place of one fighter's doom. For a fight such as this, neither combatant cared. They wanted this to go on forever, but knew that all good things must come to an end. So if such an inevitability was their foregone conclusion, they would make it a finale worth knowing.
One step, and then collision. Battle Beast's fists flew fast and hard, like the beating of a hummingbird's wings. Beowulf struck fast, like a thousand arrows in flight. The land began to shred, but neither warrior paid it any mind. Normally, there was no sound in space. And yet, these warriors struck with such might that the people of the neighboring worlds heard their final struggle. Neither warrior would, nor could they back down. Not of their own will, for their spirits blazed too bright.
But one flame faltered. Battle Beast struck with all his might, but his strike went wide, and Beowulf ducked under it. A single, yet costly mistake. With a heavy uppercut, Battle Beast was distracted for a split second, one which Beowulf used to cease his foe's arm, and using the strength he once used to free the giant Grendel of his limb, Beowulf replicated his feat, tearing Thokk's arm from its socket!
The Battle Beast yowled, and struck with his remaining fist, but Beowulf was ready for it. Using Thokk's newly severed arm as a bludgeon, Beowulf struck it aside, and sunk his fist into Battle Beast's side! He tore his fist free, grasping his foe's entrails. Thokk's eyes went wide, and he felt his strength fading. The rush of battle was finally wearing thin. But this would not be the end. He was THE Battle Beast, the Scourge of the Twin Galaxies! He would fight until he could no longer move, and would accept no other conclusion.
With his remaining arm, Battle Beast struck again, this time striking with his claws. Beowulf took a step back, but was a split second too slow. Thokk's claws tore through Beowulf's shoulder, rendering his left arm useless. It hung limply at the Berserker's side, but the heroic spirit's smile only intensified, his eyes shining an even more brilliant red. With a mighty punch, Beowulf struck Thokk's remaining arm with such might that the limb simply exploded, splattering the void with the honorable lion's gore.
Battle Beast roared and struck out with his leg, but Beowulf struck it down with a hearty chop, snapping the limb at the knee. Thokk slammed the broken limb down and winced at the pain, but struck out with his other leg. But it was in vain, as the Berserker stomped on Battle Beast's leg, driving it back into the ground and splattering his foot across the earth in an explosion of gore and viscera before it could even reach him. The Battle Beast began to fall, but knew he still had one option left.
Thokk drew his head back, and threw his face forwards, teeth bared for a final headbutt or bite, whichever he could land. Beowulf answered in kind, and slammed his own head into Thokk, cracking his skull open and finally sending the alien warrior to the ground for a final time. Though his skull had been split, his spirit commanded him to live. Their fight was over. Now all that was left was glory.
(Music stops and cues: I Want to Live)
"Thank you, Beowulf. This was the moment I lived for, to be bested in the greatest battle of my life." The Battle Beast spoke, as Beowulf sat down on the ground next to him.
"The pleasure is all mine. I'll be sure to remember your name, Thokk. With might like yours, I'm certain that we'll meet again, in some other world, and some other time. Ah, I'm at my limit for this manifestation anyhow, so I think I'll join you." Beowulf said as his body began to dissolve into golden sparks.
With those words, Thokk breathed his last, his flame finally extinguished. Beowulf looked up at the shattered remnants of the planet they'd fought on, saw how the sun illuminated the remains. There was glory here.
Beowulf raised one fist to the sky triumphantly. Wordlessly, he closed his eyes and slumped over, his body fully dissipating into golden sparks before his head struck the ground.

HyperS: Does that count as a ring out or a knock out? Or is it both?
Necro: Both Beowulf and Battle Beast were two of the most tenacious fighters we have ever featured on this show, and this match is also one of the closest that we've ever come across. However, Beowulf managed to come out on top more times than not.
HyperS: For sure. Battle Beast was strong, as he could easily slaughter the upper brass of the Viltrumite race, and the combine might of Mark, Nolan and Thaddeus was enough to destroy the Planet Viltrum. Assuming each of them did their part, they each would have had to have contributed a total of 27 Zettatons worth of energy each. But how did Beowulf stack up? Well, he could fight with servants and monsters that could survive a direct blast from Ishtar's An Gal Ta Ki Gai Se, which fires an arrow that is made from the Planet Venus. Such a blast would hit with a total of 37 Zettatons of energy, which is actually pretty even with Battle Beast's own strength.
Necro: In terms of speed, Battle Beast could fight on par with Nolan Grayson, the Omni Man, who could fly across and into a new galaxy in just two weeks. Such a feat would require Omni Man to fly at 1.1 Billion times faster than light! Meanwhile, Beowulf could fight with and out match servants that could react to Chiron's Noble Phantasm, Antares Snipe. This Noble Phantasm fires an arrow from the Sagittarius Constellation, which can reach earth and it's target in roughly three seconds, which requires speeds of 1.01 Billion times faster than light, giving Battle Beast a small speed edge.
HyperS: So with their physical stats being so close, it was only natural that it would come down to their skills and abilities. There was no doubt that Beowulf's Noble Phantasms trumped Thokk's regular mace and sword. When it came to skill, it should be fair to say that these two were about dead even. However, it would seem that Beowulf came out on top when it came to experience. While we don't exactly know how long Battle Beast or Beowulf have been fighting for, we can compare the types of foes they typically faced, and Beowulf's fights with various servants and deadly monsters, such as the Shapeshifting Grendel or the world shattering Ivan the Terrible far eclipsed the alien warriors that Battle Beast typically faced.
Necro; But the final nail in the coffin were Beowulf's various skills. Instinct would ensure that he was always one step ahead, and Berserk granted him an increase in strength which would provide him with a greater advantage over Battle Beast. Finally, Battle Continuation meant that no matter the mistakes Beowulf made, he would have more leeway to make a comeback than Battle Beast, who had no such supernatural insurance. Finally, the might provided via Grendel Buster would make the gap so large that not even Battle Beast's terrifying tenacity would keep him around for long.
HyperS: There's also the possibility that Beowulf's Perseverance of an Old Man skill would provide an advantage over Battle Beast due to the size difference, since that skill provides an advantage against Giants, and the definition of a Giant in Fate is rather vague.
Necro: So while Battle Beast held a few cards in this match, he would ultimately fall short against Beowulf's superior brawn, armaments, experience and skill set.
HyperS: So, yeah, sorry to say, but I think this Beast finally had his last Battle, just don't go berserk over it, m'kay?
Necro: The Winner is BERSERKER BEOWULF
