NOTE: A semi-composite version of Tommy Oliver will be used. This includes all the Power Rangers shows he's been a part of, along with the comics. Characters such as Lord Drakkon will not be included.
Description[]
Ben 10 vs Power Rangers!
Two heroes of justice, clad in green, hired by interstellar forces to protect the world from invading aliens. Ben may have an entire arsenal of aliens at his disposal, but will Tommy have enough raw strength to leave victorious?
Interlude[]
Wiz: Littered throughout fiction are tales of alien invasions, with the prospect of such striking fear into media consumers all over the world.
Boomstick: But for some people, these idea of invasion aren't as fictitious as they wish! Using alien technology themselves, these young teens were forced to protect Earth at all costs!
Wiz: Ben Tennyson, the wielder of the Omnitrix.
Boomstick: And Tommy Oliver, the legendary Green Ranger! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills, to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Tommy Oliver[]
Wiz: Thousands of years following the evil Rita Repulsa’s imprisonment on the moon, the Earth celebrated yet another year of peace.
Boomstick: But all that ended when some idiots landed on the moon and investigated the prison seal! Humans, I’m tellin’ ya.
Wiz: At last, Rita was free, and filled with a great lust for revenge. Almost immediately, Repulsa took her forces and invaded Earth, taking the entire world by storm.
Boomstick: To revolt, the otherworldly wizard, Zordon, with his creepy disembodied face and his annoying robot assistant Alpha-5, decided to summon five of the universe’s strongest warriors to help defend Earth.
Wiz: Actually, Zordon specifically requested for Alpha to summon five unruly teenage Earthlings.
Boomstick: Wait… What?! That’s a horrible idea!
Wiz: Apparently not. These five teens—Jason, Billy, Zack, Trini, and Kimberly—became the deadly thorn in Rita Repulsa’s side, the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
Boomstick: And they kicked Rita’s ass, apparently! Fight after fight, Rita’s forces grew weaker and weaker, before she realized she was… probably going to lose, if this kept up.
Wiz: With little hope left, Rita devised a plan. If she couldn’t defeat the Power Rangers with her own minions, perhaps she would have to create a Power Ranger of her very own.
Boomstick: And so, Rita set out looking for a teenager of her own, who she could manipulate and turn into her very own Power Ranger!
Wiz: Orphaned at a young age, Thomas “Tommy” Oliver was quickly adopted by the Oliver family, where he grew a deep love for martial arts. A prodigy in his craft, it wasn’t long before Tommy’s family up and moved to Angel Grove.
Boomstick: Hoping to make a quick reputation for himself in this new area, Tommy decided to enter Angel Grove’s Martial Arts Tournament. And he made it to the finals too, believe it or not!
Wiz: In the finals, Tommy was put up against Jason Lee Scott, who, unbeknownst to him, was the legendary Red Power Ranger. But despite Jason’s Ranger status, and his title as “Angel Grove’s Finest,” he only managed to end the match as a tie.
Boomstick: Wait, you’re telling me that some random kid fought the leader of the Power Rangers and won?! The Earth is doomed, I’m telling you!
Wiz: Actually, Boomstick, this martial arts match wasn’t trying to convince you of Jason’s underwhelming power, but of Tommy’s overwhelming power. Rita quickly realized this, too.
Boomstick: Oh, shit! So there’s this super powerful kid walking around, and Rita was able to snag him?
Wiz: Unfortunately, yes. Before Zordon and the Power Rangers even had a clue that Rita was targeting Tommy and setting him up for an experiment, it was far too late.
Boomstick: And out Tommy emerged, the badass and incredibly evil Green Ranger! Equipped with not only the coolest dagger of all time, but the coolest battle armor as well!
Wiz: As the Green Ranger, Tommy was able to match the other Power Rangers and defeat them in combat on numerous occasions. His already exceptional strength now boosted by the Green Ranger’s power, Tommy was nearly unstoppable.
Boomstick: It was only by a stroke of luck that Jason was able to destroy the object keeping Tommy under Rita’s control, which reformed Tommy and switched him onto the side of good!
Wiz: Tommy quickly formed a bond with the rest of the Power Rangers, serving as almost a co-leader to the team, alongside Jason.
Boomstick: As the Green Ranger, Tommy has access to a ton of incredible things! Such as the Dragon Shield, a metallic vest that not only makes him look badass, but serves as a well of additional power and defense!
Wiz: And the Dragon Dagger—a small, green dagger, that can be used for both combat, and, by blowing into it like a flute, can summon the Green Ranger’s ultimate weapon, the Dragonzord.
Boomstick: This thing is a bit… disobedient, forcing for Tommy to have to tame it once he fell out of Rita’s control. But boy is it a powerhouse! Despite being only a single Zord, this thing could go head-to-head with the entire Megazord!
Wiz: This building-sized behemoth, despite not being incredibly fast, can use its claws and tails to deliver devastating blows, as well as a mouth-beam powerful enough to wipe out the entirety of Angel Grove.
Boomstick: But, uhhhh… Then the Green Candle happened. This Candle represented Tommy’s Green Ranger power, and, when it eventually ran out, Tommy lost all access to the Green Ranger form.
Wiz: However, despite losing his access to the Green Ranger, Tommy continued to be a Power Ranger in other ways. Up until he was an adult, Tommy would have been a part of four different Power Ranger groups.
Boomstick: Wait, what?! Didn’t he lose his powers?!
Wiz: Well… yes. But with Zordon working on a project of his own, Tommy became the legendary White Ranger, master of the Tigerzord. And soon, after finding Zeo Crystals, Tommy became Zeo Ranger V, the Red Ranger of the team.
Boomstick: Wow… No wonder he’s seen as legendary! Tommy’s been through decades of hard fights and lost friendships, only to end up… powerless, again, in College.
Wiz: Going to MIT, Tommy got a Doctorate in Paleontology, Although his Ranger days never quite faded. Developing the Dino Morphers, Tommy waited until he could one day pass them on.
Boomstick: And eventually his time had come! Working in Reefside High School as a teacher, Tommy ran into three kids—Connor, Ethan, and Kira, who he gifted the Dino Morphers!
Wiz: The trio saved the world countless times as the Dino Thunder Power Rangers, but they weren’t able to take down their main threat, Mesogog. Seeing no other option, Tommy used his own Dino Morpher to become the Black Dino Thunder Ranger.
Boomstick: But Tommy’s greatest challenge wasn’t behind him just yet. When thrown into a coma after an encounter with the White Dino Thunder Ranger, Tommy’s life was at serious risk!
Wiz: It was here the Tommy was faced with his greatest challenge yet. Before him stood his past identities—the Red Zeo Ranger, the White Ranger, and the Green Ranger.
Boomstick: See, you’d think Tommy would absolutely lose here since he couldn’t transform, but… I guess Tommy’s good ol’ ability of kicking Power Ranger ass in base form applied here too!
Wiz: Tommy, free from danger at last, decided to retire young, and tried abandoning his Power Ranger past for good. That, obviously, didn’t pan out too well for him.
Boomstick: The guy became even more of a legend than he was before, with entire Power Ranger cadets across the universe being required to read about Tommy’s legacy! This caused for him to get some… unwanted attention, as well. Which is the same for all celebrities, really!
Wiz: Lord Draven had a plot to steal Power Rangers from all different timelines, as a way to clone and make an army out of them. Unfortunately this plan didn’t work, and, upon escaping and being confronted with Robot Tommy, the real Tommy was able to showcase his greatest piece of technology yet.
Boomstick: That was, of course, the Master Morpher! With one simple dramatic yell, the Master Morpher is able to access the Power Ranger Grid, and turn him into whatever Ranger he’s ever been before!
Wiz: Whether that be the Green Ranger, White Ranger, Zeo Red Ranger, Turbo Red Ranger, or the Dino Thunder Black Ranger, Tommy can freely switch between whatever form he’s ever had access to in the past.
Boomstick: Holy shit! And although Tommy normally yells out the name of the Ranger form he’s gonna be using next, it’s been shown multiple times that he can change forms without so much as a thought!
Wiz: And although these forms have pretty much the same abilities, it’s very clearly shown that there are stronger and weaker forms—the Red Turbo Ranger the weakest, then Zeo Red, then White, and with the most powerful being Green.
Boomstick: As a Power Ranger, Tommy’s achieved some pretty incredible feats! Not only has Tommy himself been able to match Jason in combat, but the Green Ranger could take on the entire Power Rangers group himself!
Wiz: But his most impressive feats actually come from the comic Shattered Grid, which tells of Lord Drakkon’s pursuit through time and space to destroy the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
Boomstick: Wait, Lord Drak-who? You mean Lord Draven, the guy we mentioned before, right?
Wiz: No, no. Lord Drakkon is an evil version of Tommy from a different timeline; a timeline in which Tommy didn’t join the Power Rangers team, and instead continued to fight under Rita until he himself took control of the universe.
Boomstick: Whoa! Power Rangers has alternate universes? And alternate universes where the Power Rangers actually lose, at that? I find that hard to believe.
Wiz: Well, Boomstick, you’d better believe it. Lord Drakkon is infamous for possessing absurd powers beyond anything the Power Ranger multiverse has ever seen before.
Boomstick: Like what? Can he fight off groups of Power Rangers at once, too?
Wiz: Well, yes, but that’s the least of it. Not only is Lord Drakkon the Green Ranger, but he also possesses White Ranger power, and was even powered up further by Ninjor.
Boomstick: Uh… What?! Don’t you think that’s a bit much?!
Wiz: A bit much indeed. With this power, Lord Drakkon was able to travel back in time and kill his Mighty Morphin’ and Zeo V counterparts, who he deeply feared would threaten his rule.
Boomstick: Oh! So… Tommy is just dead, then. Lord Drakkon straight up murdered him. How is this a feat for Tommy, again? Unless dying is part of his strategy.
Wiz: Eventually, going back even further in time, Kimberly (the Pink Ranger) shot an unsuspecting Tommy with an arrow. That arrow went on to infuse Tommy with visions of his death at the hands of Lord Drakkon, and thus prevent it.
Boomstick: And then Tommy was back, appearing to Lord Drakkon and challenging him to a battle! Miraculously, despite wielding the all-powerful Heart of the Masters, along with his many Ranger forms, Lord Drakkon couldn’t win.
Wiz: The Heart of the Masters is a red gem created by Morphin’ Masters eons ago. Along with giving the wielder some added strength, along with the use of different beam attacks, this crystal has one other key feature.
Boomstick: Fuckin’ reality distortion! This thing is capable of freely warping reality, space, and time, with no clear limitation whatsoever! The only real downside is, if you aren’t a very nice person, the Heart can give you insecurity and doubt.
Wiz: A weapon that gives you anxiety if you use it improperly, imagine that. Well, regardless, Lord Drakkon got his hands on this thing, and used it to complete his everyday conquests. That is, until Tommy was revived, and challenged him to a fight.
Boomstick: Despite holding this weapon of mass-destruction, capable of recreating multiverses, none of Lord Drakkon’s attacks with it were able to truly put Tommy down!
Wiz: After surviving attacks from the Heart, Tommy then traveled inside of it with Lord Drakkon, putting the overlord down for good, before taking the Heart for himself, and fixing all the space anomalies with it.
Boomstick: So really, even though Tommy ends up losing all memory of the Heart of the Masters, he’s still shown to be able to take hits from it, regardless of its universal-level abilities and feats!
Wiz: With that in mind, it really is no question how Tommy became the most beloved Power Ranger. Whether he be the Dino Thunder Black Ranger, the Turbo Red Ranger, the Zeo Red Ranger, the White Ranger, or the Green Ranger, Tommy’s legacy will live on.
Boomstick: The only thing he couldn’t do is keep his relationship with Kimberly going. What a catastrophic disappointment, I’m telling you!
Wiz: All in all, Tommy Oliver is an amazing fighter, and likely the greatest Power Ranger the universe has ever seen.
Tommy: It’s morphin’ time!
Ben Tennyson[]
Wiz: Benjamin Kirby Tennyson was an energetic kid who, like most of us, spent his days playing video games, sulking around, and dreading school. Nicknamed Ben 10, it wouldn’t be long before fate struck Ben in the form of a falling meteor.
Boomstick: Ben was quick to investigate this strange meteor, only to find a strange alien watch cling to his wrist! But little did Ben know, this watch was the Omnitrix, and would be the central figure of the rest of Ben’s life!
Wiz: The Omnitrix was a highly advanced piece of Galvan technology, designed specifically to alter the DNA of the wearer to turn them into the alien of their choice. Needless to say, the Omnitrix was a highly sought after piece of equipment, and owning it would throw Ben into a heap of danger.
Boomstick: Not that anyone else could truly own the Omnitrix, though! As soon as this baby strapped itself onto Ben’s arm, it registered Ben as the main host, turning anyone else who held it into an unsuspecting Ben clone! Like poor, little Albedo.
Wiz: Regardless, Ben had an army hot on his trail in pursuit of the Omnitrix, and were willing to do whatever it took to snag it from the boy. Thankfully for Ben, though, the Omnitrix was preregistered with ten aliens for Ben to transform into and protect himself with.
Boomstick: Wait, only ten?! I could’ve sworn there was more than ten… Am I going crazy?
Wiz: Well, Boomstick, after going through countless trials and tribulations, Ben learned to unlock more aliens. At his current standing, Ben has almost seventy aliens at his disposal, all with unique and powerful abilities.
Boomstick: Damn, I guess you’re right! Ben has aliens like Heat Blast, a Pyronite with the incredibly simplistic ability to control fire! With this, Heat Blast can fly around with flame jets, and, more importantly, send wave after wave of fire to engulf his enemies!
Wiz: His alien, XLR8, can run at speeds faster than lightning itself. Diamondhead, although weak to high-frequency noises, can tank crushing blows without even a scratch.
Boomstick: He’s got Four Arms for when he wants to punch the shit out of people, Big Chill to freeze opponents, Ghostfreak to sneak around unnoticed, and Upgrade to hack into almost anything he chooses!
Wiz: But that’s not even close to being the end of his list. While Ben has aliens covering basically every elemental ground there is to cover, that isn’t near the extent of his outrageous abilities.
Boomstick: With the alien Clockwork, Ben has free domain over time! He can slow down time for everyone but him, travel to any point in time he wishes, and can even age opponents when they’re struck by one of his time rays!
Wiz: Additionally, Clockwork has the ability to access knowledge of the Sotobro Effect.
Boomstick: Sotobro?
Wiz: The Sotobro Effect is a manipulation in time that can be sensed and reversed by Chronosapiens, such as Clockwork. Any sort of effect in time can cause this effect, and thus be picked up by Clockwork.
Boomstick: But… Wait! Ben didn’t actually learn about the Sotobro effect. A Ben certainly did, but that was a Ben from a different timeline!
Wiz: Well, the main timeline Ben is extremely aware of the timelines, teaching them alongside Professor Paradox to No-Watch Ben. Although we still can’t assume our Ben knew about this effect.
Boomstick: So… He doesn’t know about it, then?
Wiz: No, no. All Chronosapiens have access to the Sotobro Effect, even though they may not know what it is. Like gravity, the Sotobro Effect isn’t something that has to be discovered to be in effect.
Boomstick: Oh, I see! So just becoming Clockwork alone would warn Ben of any change in time? Even if he doesn’t exactly know what the Sotobro Effect is, this means Ben could be alerted to and can reverse the warp in time!
Wiz: Although even controlling time isn’t quite impressive when your opponent is fast enough to negate it.
Boomstick: But it’s not like Ben doesn’t have any speedy aliens, either! Far from it, actually! Along with the quick alien, XLR8, Ben has access to an Aerophibian alien called Jetray, who is not only faster than light, but can enter hyperspace to traverse interstellar distances in a flash!
Wiz: Echo Echo is an alien able to create a large sound-wave as an attack. However, Echo Echo’s true power comes in its ability to split into thousands of different versions of itself.
Boomstick: Why is this impressive, you ask? Well, you see, Echo Echo can not only split itself, but it can then proceed to transform every single copy into a different alien of Ben’s choosing! Meaning Ben could have an army of his strongest aliens, if he so pleased!
Wiz: Feedback is one of Ben’s most powerful aliens. With the ability to absorb energy from another source to then transfer into an attack of its own, Ben was able to use this to… redirect a big bang?
Boomstick: You’re damn right, Wiz! In an attempt to save Ben’s life, the Omnitrix took hold of the cosmic explosion and cycled through aliens until it turned to Feedback, who was able to turn that explosion into just another one of its everyday attacks!
Wiz: That brings up a good point, Boomstick. The Omnitrix, linked to Ben, has a function in which it does whatever it can to keep Ben alive, regardless of the situation. For instance Ben’s life is threatened, the Omnitrix has been able to turn Ben into whatever alien is required to survive the situation, regardless of circumstance.
Boomstick: When the Omnitrix has been attacked itself, or possibly hacked into, it emits a large explosion, which harms anything around it except for Ben!
Wiz: Ben’s even been regenerated from death in the past via the Omnitrix, as showcased when he fought against Vilgax. After Vilgax destroyed Ben’s alien, Chromastone, and shattered it to pieces, Vilgax retrieved the Omnitrix from the rubble, when suddenly…
Boomstick: The Omnitrix revolted, glowing the putting the destroyed Chromastone back together, and turning Ben into Diamondhead! But… wait. The Omnitrix wasn’t touching Ben physically in any way, how did it transform him?
Wiz: Well, the Omnitrix has essentially been linked to Ben ever since it attached to his arm all those years ago, and has done everything it could to protect him at any cost. Even when it wasn’t connected to Ben’s immobile pieces, the link it shares with Ben allows for it to transform him at any given time, if it is necessary.
Boomstick: Holy shit! So even when not attached, the Omnitrix can pick an alien for Ben to use if he is in a life-threatening crisis! That’s more insane than I thought this thing capable of!
Wiz: So even if he does lose his watch arm, the Omnitrix could likely just transform him into an alien like Swampfire or Goop, who are able to regenerate body parts freely.
Boomstick: So I guess it really would be useless trying to pry that thing off his wrist! The Omnitrix has a ton of tricks up its sleeve to prevent almost any danger imaginable. Although, I wonder, Wiz, what about when Ben was sent to the Null Void without his hand?
Wiz: The Omnitrix does indeed have a fail-safe for if Ben does, somehow, lose the arm of which the watch is connected to, as shown in that very episode. It has been showcased before that, even if Ben’s watch arm and Ben himself are in two different locations, the Omnitrix can take control of the arm and move itself to safety.
Boomstick: Although Ben was still technically “connected” to his hand when this was shown off in the show, it was very clearly displayed that not only were Ben and his hand in two different physical locations, but Ben himself had no control over what the hand could and could not do, so it’s not hard to tell that the Omnitrix was in effect!
Wiz: Although this event happened at a time what Ben didn’t have the Omnitrix’s Master Control function, and had to physically click the watch to transform. Later in the show, it’s made even more clear that losing an arm wouldn’t stop Ben from transforming.
Boomstick: Wait… Master what?
Wiz: Master Control. This function not only allows for Ben to retain an alien form for however long he pleases, but also allows for him to transform just by thinking about whichever alien he desires to become.
Boomstick: Oh, I remember now! With Master Control unlocked, Ben was able to freely switch between whoever he wanted, whenever he wanted, and Ben has clearly shown that he can use this feature to its greatest potential.
Wiz: The Omnitrix, as I’ve stated before, has registered Ben as its host. Even when the watch itself is not connected physically to Ben, it is able to recognize his thoughts and voice to allow for him to become whichever alien he desires. This was shown off before, when Ben would be able to become whoever he wished in a time of impending danger, although he can now freely do this.
Boomstick: Ben obviously uses this to become the strongest aliens on his team when in a dire situation! He can switch so fast that it’s almost impossible to keep track of his moves, but some of his aliens are powerful enough to make it worth retaining their form for a while! Such as Way Big, the largest alien in Ben’s arsenal, who is versed in hand-to-hand combat, can fire of large laser blasts, and crush anything in its way!
Wiz: However, the strongest alien Ben has ever owned is Alien X, a Celestialsapien creature originating from the Forge of Creation. Originally, Alien X was a being ruled by two different personalities; the voice of compassion, Serena, and the voice of aggression, Bellicus. After obtaining this alien, Ben became the third ruler, known as the voice of reason.
Boomstick: Originally, Ben had to ask for Bellicus and Serena’s permission to activate and properly use Alien X, but in the episode Universe vs. Tennyson, Ben was able to convince the two to give him full control!
Wiz: Alien X is an absolute monster in terms of its abilities and feats. This Celestialsapien is able to fire off time waves to reverse events, similar to Ben’s Clockwork alien, and is nearly immune to any changes in time around him. Additionally, if it came to blows, Alien X is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and can make itself as large as it wishes to be.
Boomstick: Holy shit! But that’s not even close to the extent of it! Alien X is completely immune to universal explosions, such as the one caused by Anihilaarg, not only because of its near-invincibility, but also because Alien X essentially exists outside of the realms of space and time!
Wiz: Alien X can duplicate itself into copies of the same strength, similar to Echo Echo, and it can even fuse together with other Celestialsapiens to power up its already universe-destroying attacks. Put this together, and you have an Alien X that can essentially fuse with itself to become… more ridiculous.
Boomstick: Alien X can create galaxies, and even recreate the universe, but regardless, it’s still one of many aliens that Ben has at his use, and thus falls victim to all of their collective weaknesses! Although since Ben can transform on a thought, and remain as an alien for as long as he wants, its unlikely anything would ever get to him!
Wiz: Although Celestialsapiens individually are seen as fairly flawed on their own, Ben’s aliens take form of an alien species at the peak of their strength, and thus Alien X likely does not take many of these weaknesses with him.
Boomstick: It was even stated by the original creators of Ben 10, Man of Action, that if Alien X was aware of the dangers of universal or even multiversal destruction, he can be prepared to tank the blow!
Wiz: Although it’s strange. Alien X can do this, but it’s gone on record that he couldn’t survive being on Anur Vladis, a planet which essentially drains life from anyone within its atmosphere. Like a… planet vampire, which is what it’s actually meant to be.
Boomstick: Actually, Wiz, as it would turn out, Alien X can survive that too! All he has to do is collectively agree with himself to… not die, and, according to Man of Action, since Alien X is the pinnacle of all Celestialsapiens, he’ll be able to survive on it no problem. There’s a lot that can be solved if Alien X simply agrees with itself to do something.
Wiz: Don’t get us wrong, though. Alien X isn’t exactly invincible. If he is up against a foe who is stronger and faster, there isn’t much of a doubt that he would be able to be overwhelmed.
Boomstick: But with the ability to create black holes the size of galaxies in seconds, along with time reversal and
Wiz: Overall, Ben has more than enough equipment on his side to help prevail through any challenge that may come to him. With the Omnitrix essentially doing whatever it takes not to allow for Ben to die, a limitless time limit, and the ability to duplicate many times over, Ben Tennyson is fully prepared to defend himself.
Boomstick: While Ben himself is quite cocky and arrogant, and likely wouldn’t choose any of his more powerful aliens right off the bat, he’s proven time and time again that he can take whatever comes his way!
Ben: It’s hero time!
Fight![]
It was a peaceful, sunny day in Angel Grove. Hanging out in Ernie’s Gym & Juice Bar after some martial arts practice, as per usual, Tommy Oliver wanted nothing more than to sit back and relax.
It had been quite a while since Tommy had to save the planet from any invading forces, and he liked it that way. Finally, he could settle down and focus on his own life for once, instead of having to constantly worry about the well-being of everyone around him.
However, it wasn’t long before a fresh face walked into the Juice Bar, catching Tommy off guard; he hasn’t seen anyone new hang around Angel Grove in a long time, much less in Ernie’s Juice Bar. Before long, the newcomer took a seat right by Tommy.
“Hey. I haven’t seen you before.” Tommy said to the new guy, hoping to spark up conversation. The newcomer was a boy around his age, right around his senior year of high-school, wearing a green t-shirt with the number “10” printed on the front.
The boy looked over and gave a welcoming smile. “Hey there.” He said, slightly waving. “I came here to visit on my summer vacation. The name’s Ben.”
“Ben, huh?” Tommy leaned back in his chair. “I’m Tommy. Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise.” Ben said, turning back towards the counter and taking his drink. Tommy figured he should say something more, but two other fresh faces walked in through the door just as he had opened his mouth.
“Ben!” A man called. Ben looked over and waved his friends over, who took a seat by him.
“Gwen! Kevin! I’m glad you could make it here.” Ben greeted the two. The warmly smiled to him, the way only close friends could. Tommy knew the look.
“Well, of course we did. Any summer with you is bound to turn out interesting.” The girl, Gwen, commented with a chuckle. “You have that watch, after all.”
Tommy looked closer, basically spying on the group now. Peering towards Ben’s wrist, Tommy was astounded. How hadn’t he noticed it before? Ben was sporting an extremely odd green wristwatch with a peculiar design on the front, one which Tommy felt he’s seen before…
“I’m sure this summer will be interesting,” Kevin chimed in. “I’ve got a signal on a few more Plumber’s Badges in this area we can locate.”
“Plumbers?” Ben inquired. “I figured we’d have found them all by now. After all, the Omnitrix—“
“C’mon, you two, we’re out in public.” Gwen said, stopping Ben from finishing his sentence. “If we’re gonna talk about you-know-what, we should take this somewhere else.”
Ben and Kevin nodded, and the trio immediately got up and left their seats. The Juice Bar’s door closed and, just like that, the group was gone. Tommy stared off into space, lost in thought, before quickly tapping onto his own wristwatch.
“Yes, Tommy?” The booming voice of the wizard, Zordon, asked over Tommy’s telecommunication device.
“Zordon, I was wondering if you knew anything about the Plumbers? Or maybe the… uh, Omnitrix?” Tommy asked. “There were a few guys here talking about it.”
“Ah, the Omnitrix.” Zordon responded, seemingly taken aback by the word. “It’s a device created by the Galvan species, that allows the user to turn into any living creature in the entire universe.”
“The entire universe?” Tommy said in shock. “That seems like an incredibly powerful weapon, if you ask me.”
“In the wrong hands, it certainly is.” Zordon explained. “If mishandled, the Omnitrix can possibly destroy all of existence as we know it. You don’t know of anyone carrying the Omnitrix, do you?”
“I saw this kid around my age, he was the one that mentioned it… He had a funny looking watch on, it was green with an alien-like pattern…”
“That very well could be the Omnitrix, Tommy.” Zordon informed him. “Last I heard of the relic, it was hidden safely away, but if this teenager wields it as you claim…”
“Want me to go confront this guy?” Tommy asked, cutting right to the chase. Zordon stayed quiet for a moment, pondering what he thought Tommy should do. After a few seconds, Zordon responded.
“To avoid a possible catastrophe, it’s best that you do.”
Hearing those words, Tommy turned off his communicator and bolted out of the Juice Bar, hoping to find Ben as soon as he could. Sure enough, he saw Ben with Kevin and Gwen, hanging around a green sports car.
“Hey!” Tommy called out. The three stopped what they were talking about in an instant, and looked up to him.
“Oh, hey! Tommy, right?” Ben said, just as cheery as he was before. “What’s up?”
Tommy looked down to Ben’s wristwatch, and back up to him. “That watch.” he began, “That’s the Omnitrix, isn’t it?” Upon saying those words, Ben clutched his arm and took a step back.
“Looks like someone was spying on our conversation from before, after all.” Gwen said with a grumble.
“I know we mentioned it, but how would you know exactly what it is?” Ben wondered aloud. Tommy’s expression didn’t falter.
“My sources tell me that device is extremely dangerous. For the well-being of the entire universe, I’m going to have to confiscate it.” Tommy demanded, reaching out with his hand.
“Confiscate it? Under whose jurisdiction?” Kevin sneered sarcastically, putting his hands on his hips.
“The Power Rangers.”
“Power Rangers?!” Kevin laughed. “Enough playing around, that's the sort of thing a kindergartner would come up with.”
“No, Kevin, he’s serious.” Gwen told him. Kevin arched his eyebrows and turned to face her.
“What? Is it some sort of kid’s television show that I’m not aware of?” Kevin snorted.
“No, no. The Power Rangers are a sort of galactic police force spread out across the universe.”
“As if I hadn’t seen a few interstellar cops in my day.” Ben rolled his eyes. “Wielding the Omnitrix is what I was born to do. I’m not gonna let some Power Puff Girl snatch away all that I’ve accomplished.”
“If that’s how you want to do things…” Tommy sighed, raising his fists. “I’ll take that Omnitrix whether you like it or not, for the protection of all living things.”
Ben turned to his friends, issuing for them to stand back. Kevin and Gwen nodded, as Ben walked forwards towards his opponent. “Okay, Tommy, show me what you’ve got!”
“Gladly.”
FIGHT![]
With neither Tommy nor Ben transformed, the sight wasn’t much to behold. Taking a stride forwards, Ben came face-to-face with Tommy, not truly expecting him to do anything. However, Tommy did exactly what he said he would, throwing a right jab and catching Ben directly in the cheek.
“Ben, what the hell are you doing?!” Kevin yelled from the sidelines. Ben recoiled from the attack, taking a few steps backwards and rubbing his face. However, despite the hit, Ben let out a chuckle.
“You’re serious about this, huh?” Ben said, letting go of his face and clenching his fists. “I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt, but—”
Tommy, without a word, took another jab at Ben. This time prepared, Ben quickly ducked under the attack, popping back up to punch Tommy right back.
Attempting to follow it up, Ben delivered a powerful kick at Tommy’s chest, however the Ranger caught Ben’s foot and pushed it aside, before using one of his signature spin-kicks.
Ben ducked underneath the kick and, just as Tommy landed, got a few hits in to the Power Ranger’s chest. Tommy clenched his chest, which only left his face open. With no time to waste, Ben repaid Tommy with his own blow to the jaw.
Tommy stumbled backwards, but was able to maintain his composure. As Ben went for his face again, Tommy quickly grabbed his arm, swiveling behind him and wrestling him to the ground.
In no time at all, Ben’s left arm was in an intense struggle, and Tommy tried his best to pull the Omnitrix off of him. Out of retaliation, Ben used his right arm to elbow Tommy, until he finally gave way.
Ben rolled over and stood back to his feet. Tommy quickly kick-flipped back up and regained his fighting position; certainly fired up from all the blows he’s been dealt. Both boys were now bruised, but not out of the fight.
“You can do it, Ben!” Gwen shouted. The wielder of the Omnitrix turned to her and gave her a grin before turning back.
“He’s really good.” Ben admitted. “Eventually he’ll outdo me—I don’t stand much of a chance.”
“So you realize it, then.” Tommy sighed, feeling relived. “Hand me the Omnitrix and we won’t have to come to that point.”
“Oh, no, don’t think I’m giving up.” Ben said, raising his left arm. “It just means I may need to pull out the big guns for this one.”
“That’s right, Zordon did tell me what the Omnitrix could do…” Tommy thought, before smiling. “But that’s quite alright. I have a little something of my own.”
Tommy reached behind him, pulling out his Master Morpher. Upon seeing it, the three opposing teenagers raised their eyebrows.
“What’s that…?” Kevin asked. “It looks like alien tech, too. I’m guessing all Power Fighters get one?”
“Yeah… That must be the Morpher, that all Power Rangers use.” Gwen commented.
“Close, but this one is a little more advanced than that!” Tommy shouted to Kevin and Gwen. Ben chuckled for the umpteenth time.
“Well, no matter. I might not be a Power Ranger, but…” Ben placed his hand above his Omnitrix. “I’ve got a Morpher of my own! It’s hero time!”
Ben slammed his hand down on the watch, and his entire body was engulfed in a green light. When the light cleared, in Ben’s place stood an alien, seemingly made out of molten rock. It was Heat Blast!
Tommy observed the transformation and was quite astounded by how swiftly the Omnitrix was able to morph Ben into a completely new creature. But he knew he had no time to waste, outstretching his arms with the Master Morpher in hand.
“Alright, I’ll transform too! Shift into turbo!” Tommy called out, as electricity began sparking around his body.
The electricity picked up its pace, quickly surrounding Tommy’s entire body. In a flash, Tommy was morphed into the Turbo Red Power Ranger, red suit and all. Tommy quickly retained his fighting pose, facing Heat Blast. “Turbo Red Ranger, at your service!”
“Turbo Red, eh?” Heat Blast snorted. “You’re close to being like fire, but that doesn’t hold a candle to me!”
“Chill it with the puns, I’m not giving you any more time to warm up.” Tommy snarled. “Come at me!”
Heat Blast flew towards Tommy, the jets of fire spewing from his palms to launch him forwards. Without any hesitation, Heat Blast pointed his hand towards the Turbo Red Ranger, and a stream of flame erupted from it.
Tommy quickly dove over the stream of fire, rolling back onto his feet as he landed. “For a monster made out out fire, your aim isn’t too hot!”
The Turbo Red Ranger then ran towards, Heat Blast, dodging a fireball and presenting a swift kick to his molten stomach. Heat Blast flew backwards, but used his fire to slow him down. Without a moments notice, Heat Blast then flew a few meters into the air.
“What, running away?” Tommy asked in a taunting way. Steam came out of Heat Blast’s head as he grew increasingly furious, pointing his hand towards Tommy from above, and launching an array of fireballs.
The Turbo Ranger was able to avoid a few, but the barrage soon caught up with him. Putting his arms up for defense, Tommy was pummeled continuously by balls of flame.
Heat Blast finally stopped the barrage of fire, lowering himself to the ground and waiting for the dust to clear. As it finally did, Heat Blast noticed a crater, but… not Tommy. The Power Ranger completely disappeared.
Heat Blast scratched the back of his head, completely stumped. “What? Where did he run off to—“
WHAM! Tommy reappeared behind Heat Blast in a flash of red, completely knocking him to the ground with a new blade in hand. Heat Blast hit the asphalt face-first with a groan, and Tommy triumphantly stood over his body, proudly displaying the Turbo Lightning Sword.
“Not so fiery now, huh? I must just be a little sharper.” Tommy cooed, crossing his arms. However, the ground where Heat Blast was lying quickly flashed green.
“You’re right. I figured I would cool off…” Said an unfamiliar voice. In no time at all, the Turbo Red Ranger was met by an overwhelming blast of frost, that surrounded his body and began to encase him in ice.
Tommy was frozen solid, and could see a blue-winged alien creature stand up in front of him. It was Ben’s alien, Big Chill. The creature flapped its winds with tremendous force, so powerfully that the ice around Tommy was shattered, and the Power Ranger was knocked back.
Tommy hesitantly stood back to his feet, at a bit of a loss from all the events that transpired so quickly. And even worse, he was physically damaged, with the breaking of the ice cracking his Turbo Red helmet.
However, when Tommy looked forwards expecting to see Big Chill, there was nothing there at all. “Nimble, aren’t you?” Tommy joked, although he truthfully had no idea where Big Chill disappeared off to.
Standing there for almost a minute, Tommy was beginning to worry what was to come. However, it wasn’t long before something felt off… From the crack of his helmet, Tommy could feel the gentlest breeze of cold air.
And then he saw it, Big Chill reappeared in front of Tommy, ready to act, but the Turbo Red Ranger was prepared! With a powerful downward slash, Big Chill was sent spiraling backwards, electricity sparking around the alien’s body as he tumbled.
“I’ve faced more goons than you can count. Don’t think a bit of invisibility is gonna stop me!” Tommy teased, feeling confident in himself for what he just pulled off. Big Chill, however, was laughing too!
“You must think you’re cool, landing a hit on me like that…” Big Chill began, his hand hovering over the Omnitrix on his chest. “But this will surely put a bigger crack in that helmet of yours…”
In another flash of green light, Ben grew almost grew thrice his size. He was a gargantuan, towering beast, almost resembling a humanoid dinosaur. With a powerfully terrifying roar, the alien looked forwards to Tommy and boomed, “HUMONGOUSAUR!”
Tommy took a step back, seeing just how much of a brute Humongousaur seemingly was. “Paleontology is cool and all, but this is one dinosaur I did not want to learn about!”
“You think a Power Ranger can take Ben out now?” Kevin snorted, looking over to Gwen.
“He looks tough, but I’ve faced opponents larger than this!” Tommy reassured Kevin from a few meters away, still backing up as Humongousaur slowly stomped towards him.
“You mentioned something about paleontology. Is that something all Power Rangers have to learn about?” Gwen asked. Tommy looked at her, then back to the looming dinosaur.
“Not really, no.” Tommy answered. “Just a personal interest of mine. I was thinking of going to school for it…”
“Wow, that’s so cool! I know a lot of people who would love to go out on an expedi—“
“—Are you trying to make friends, Gwen?!” Kevin interrupted. “Because now really isn’t the time!”
Tommy turned back without another word to face Humongousaur, who was now much closer than he was a moment ago. “Alright, here goes…” Tommy whispered to himself.
Humongousaur was finally within arms reach of Tommy, taking a huge swing at him with his fist. Tommy narrowly avoided the punch, then tried counterattacking with a kick. The behemoth slightly stumbled backwards, but it wasn’t nearly enough to be considered anything tremendous.
Humongousaur swung again, with Tommy this time rolling around the dinosaur to his backside, with a different plan. The Turbo Red Power Ranger jumped onto Humongousaur’s back, latching on and climbing up to his head. When he was there, he reached around and began trying to force the Omnitrix off of his chest.
With another roar, Humongousaur flailed around before successfully grabbing hold of Tommy. With the Power Ranger firmly in his grasp, Humongousaur threw him into the air, before delivering a devastating tail whip as he fell.
Kevin and Gwen leaped out of the way as Tommy’s body flew towards them, smashing directly into Kevin’s car. Glass shards went everywhere, and sparks flew, as Tommy created a deep crater in the car.
“Ben, you almost hit us!” Gwen cried out. Humongousaur scratched the back of his head with embarrassment.
“Sorry, you guys… I was a bit caught up with what I was doing…” Ben sheepishly admitted. Kevin rubbed his head and stood up, looking over to the wreckage with horror and grievance.
“Dude…” Kevin said sorrowfully, in a deeply pained voice. “You completely totaled my car!”
“It’s alright, Kevin…” Gwen said, trying to calm her boyfriend. “Look on the bright side. I know you love the feeling of driving a new car!”
“That much is true…” Kevin sighed. “But, come on, why is it always my car—“
Suddenly, a noise was heard coming from the wreckage of Kevin’s car. Gwen, Kevin, and Humongousaur turned and looked at the car, only to see Tommy standing visibly damaged. Kevin and Gwen quickly cleared the way for Ben to see him clearly.
“That’s a surprise.” Humongousaur admitted. “I didn’t think you’d be able to make it through that one.”
“I’m tougher than I look, that’s for certain.” Tommy proclaimed. His helmet was nearly entirely destroyed, with only the left half of it remaining. His suit, too, was scratched up and tearing. “But don’t count me out just yet.”
Humongousaur stood, patiently waiting to see what exactly Tommy had in store for him. With a determined and fierce look, the Power Ranger glared at his opponent.
“You’re not the only dinosaur around.” Tommy yelled, sparks beginning to surround him once more. Tommy back-flipped behind the wreckage of Kevin’s car, with the entire Earth trembling as he landed. “Dino Thunder, Power Up!”
In no time flat, Kevin’s destroyed car was lifted, and effortlessly hurtled at Humongousaur. The dinosaur tanked the blow, and as the dust cleared, he saw it; Tommy was standing before him in a new black suit.
“Curious. I thought Power Rangers could only undergo a single transformation.” Gwen commented. Tommy turned to her before turning back to Ben.
“Normally that would be true.” Tommy explained. “But my circumstance is a bit… different.”
“Regardless of how many different suits you have, I’ll still crush them all!” Humongousaur boomed. This time, Tommy didn’t look nearly as threatened.
“Come and get me, big guy.” The Black Ranger teased, before flipping towards Ben. Avoiding a powerful jab while in mid-air, Tommy landed with an earth-shaking dive kick to the alien’s forehead.
Humongousaur stumbled backwards, clutching his forehead before quickly looking down to his opponent. In no time flat, Tommy as at the Vaxasaurian’s feet, sweep-kicking the dinosaur. In response, Humongousaur tumbled over and began to fall.
However, before he could land, Tommy grabbed a hold of Humongousaur’s right foot; swinging him around before slamming him into the ground and leaping backwards.
“I may look small, but I contain just as much power as you!” Tommy remarked as Humongousaur steadily and grumpily sat up. With a snarl, the Vaxasaurian slammed the cement with his fist, causing the earth to tremor towards Tommy.
The Black Ranger began to shake and tumble, before quickly leaping onto the roof of a nearby car. Humongousaur stood to his feet, roaring and charging towards Tommy. With one swift action, the Black Ranger pulled out his Branchio Staff and pointed it at Humongousaur.
Without second thought, Ben’s dinosaur alien tackled the car that Tommy was standing on, sending both the car and the Ranger far into the distance. While airborne, Tommy managed to collect his bearings and leap off of the flying car, back into action.
Humongousaur decided to charge at Tommy once again, ready to finish the fight purely with brute force. With a quick slide on the ground in between Humongousaur’s legs, Tommy was suddenly at the dinosaur’s back, which was left exposed.
“Alright, Brachio Staff!” Tommy shouted, spinning his armed hand in a large circle. “I need an Energy Ball, now!”
Humongousaur slowly turned around, but quickly noticed the intense energy forming around Tommy. In no time at all, a large energy ball was created at the end of his Brachio Staff, and launched towards Humongousaur.
The dinosaur howled in pain as the electric energy ball swirled around him, sending him flying forwards before ending in a large explosion. Tommy posed, wondering if he was able to finish the battle or not.
“Ben might actually be in a bit of trouble here…” Kevin commented from the background, arms crossed as always. Tommy turned to look at both him and Gwen.
“What, are you two going to go after me now?” Tommy asked with a sigh. Kevin chuckled.
“I said he might be in trouble, Power Geek.” Kevin said with a smirk. “Just give him a second.”
Sweat dripped down Tommy’s forehead, realizing that Ben could have thousands upon thousands of aliens to his disposal, of which Tommy would need to deal with one-by-one.
“You’re tough, I’ll give you that…” A new voice was heard, emerging from the rubble that Humongousaur created with the explosion. Standing, it revealed Ben’s nigh-indestructible alien, Diamondhead. “Although you might want to reconsider fighting me!”
“Why’s that? You may be some sort of diamond creature now, but anything is breakable with enough force!” Dino Thunder Ranger Tommy said, pointing his Brachio Staff forwards.
Diamondhead grunted, before pointing his fists forwards. In an instant, sharp diamond projectiles began firing out of his arms like needles towards Tommy. In response, Tommy took a large leap to the side, but Diamondhead simply readjusted his aim. Seeing no other option, the Power Ranger aimed his Brachio Staff forwards.
“Alright, pal. This one’s a Wind Strike!” Tommy yelled as an incredibly powerful gust of wind blasted out of his Staff, sending the diamond projectiles flying back at Diamondhead. Covering his face with his arms, Diamondhead was pelted with his own shots, but they left no more than a scratch.
“Cute gimmick.” Diamondhead remarked, before trudging towards Tommy. As quickly as he could, Tommy decided to shoot yet another Energy Ball to take out Diamondhead, just as he did with Humongousaur.
However, Diamondhead swiftly raised his arms as crystals rose from the ground and forced a barrier, completely tanking the Energy Ball’s explosion. As soon as the dust cleared, Diamondhead came out from behind his barrier and ran towards Tommy, who was out of ways to attack.
With a shoulder charge, Diamondhead managed to launch Tommy into the air, before punching the Ranger hard as he fell back down. Tommy skidded on the ground, quickly flipping back to his feet and assuming a visibly less-powerful pose.
This time, Tommy took the initiative, running full speed towards Diamondhead with his Brachio Staff raised. However, as he took a hefty swing, suddenly… the Staff phased through Diamondhead?!
Tommy stepped back in confusion, watching as Diamondhead turned to look as if he was made of a gooey green substance, before falling into a puddle on the ground. Tommy looked down to the goop pile with disgust and confusion.
However, before he could get much thought out, Tommy noticed the green sludge pile begin to move backwards away from Tommy, reforming into a gooey alien creature known as Goop.
The Black Ranger looked down to his staff, which had some Goop residue left on it; before the slime leaped off of the staff and reformed into Goop. “This looks like a bit of a sticky situation…” Tommy sighed.
Goop began sloppily running towards Tommy, which Tommy responded to with an instinctual jab. Goop dodged out of the way, before a green light flashed around his body and he morphed back into Diamondhead!
WHACK! With a powerful punch, Diamondhead thwacked Tommy directly in the chest, which knocked Tommy a few meters backwards. Flipping to his feet, Tommy clutched his chest.
“Fine, you’ve pushed me far enough…!” Tommy grumbled, reaching down to take hold of his Dino Gem as it brightly glowed in his hands. “Super Dino Mode!”
Diamondhead looked confused, but it wouldn’t take long for him to feel the force of this transformation; incredible pressure launching out of Tommy and pushing Diamondhead back.
Large white spikes protruded from the white patterns on Tommy’s suit, and what looked to be the mouth of his helmet let out an ear-piercing roar that echoed for miles. Diamondhead tried covering his head from the sound-wave, but it was so powerful that his crystal arms cracked.
In no time, Tommy put the Brachio Staff back onto his belt, and showed off his Super Dino Form with a striking pose. Diamondhead gritted his teeth, putting his fists up for protection.
“You have a menacing roar,” Diamondhead admitted, “but you’ve already proven that your bark is worse than your bite!”
“Trust me, this dinosaur’s got a powerful bite.” Tommy sneered, running up to Diamondhead with incredible speed. Tommy thrusted his palms forwards for a blunt strike, and although Diamondhead attempted to block the attack, his arms simply continued to crack under the force.
Tommy followed this up with a side-kick, hitting Diamondhead’s arms once again, completely shattering them! Diamondhead let out a groan of pain, but transformed into Goop and regained his arms back in no time.
Tommy witnessed Goop’s instantaneous regeneration and let out a deep sigh. “Regeneration, eh? What an annoyance.”
However, looking up, Tommy noticed something… Merely two meters above Goop’s head, a drone-like machine was flying about. Tommy was completely thrown for a loop as to what this could be, until he saw it… the Omnitrix! The drone was sporting the Omnitrix symbol, and the Black Ranger knew it must be important.
Running up to Goop, Tommy was only a meter away Goop before taking a large leap into the air. Blindsided by the strange action, Ben never even considered that Tommy would have tried targeting his Anti-Gravity Projector.
With a spin kick, Tommy was aiming directly at the Anti-Gravity Projector, hoping to destroy it. Distraught, Goop quickly thought of a way out of the situation, before flashing green. In no time, the Anti-Gravity Projector disappeared, and Tommy was left simply kicking the air.
The Black Ranger fell, toppling over whatever creature was beneath him. However, this alien… definitely was not Goop. Tommy looked down beneath him and saw a strange, cubic white creature with blue features.
“What the…?” Tommy wondered. But he didn’t have much more time to think, as two more mysterious figures grabbed a hold of his arms and dragged him away. Was this Kevin and Gwen coming to Ben’s aid? The Power Ranger turned to look at who had grabbed him, seeing… more of the same white alien?
“Echo Echo!” Said the original, standing up from where Tommy had flattened him. Clearly, this was Ben’s alien, Echo Echo. As the two Echo Echo’s held onto Tommy’s arms, more were duplicated out of the original and stood to face Tommy.
"Teaming up on me, I see.” Tommy pointed out. While struggling to break free. As a simple response, the Echo Echo’s opened their mouth, and emitted extremely powerful sound waves towards Tommy.
Tommy tried using his Super Dino Mode powers to roar back, but their screams were simply more than he could contend with. In no time flat, Tommy’s Dino Thunder visor began to crack, as Tommy behind the helmet wreathed in pain from the unbearable noise.
The Echo Echo’s weren’t looking to let up, and it wouldn’t be long before Tommy’s ear drums shattered along with his visor. With intense strain and anger, a red light began to slowly swirl around the Power Ranger.
Instantly, the Dino Thunder Black visor shattered, sending glass shards everywhere. However, just as this happened, a red light bathed Tommy. Although curious by what was going on, Echo Echo didn’t let up it’s sound waves… until it was forced to.
A huge red explosion erupted from around Tommy, vanquishing the Echo Echo’s that were holding him. Surrounded by a dust cloud, Tommy’s shadow stood, as the three remaining Echo Echo’s stopped attacking.
“Zeo Ranger Five, Red!” Tommy boomed, as the dust cleared to reveal his Red Zeo Ranger form. Before they had much time to process this, Tommy took out his Zeo Laser Pistol and blasted two of the remaining three Echo Echos.
With one remaining, Ben decided to change from Echo Echo into Jetray, flying low in the air and gliding towards Tommy at incredible speeds. Swooping towards him, Tommy was quick to hop out of the way, pointing his Zeo Laser Pistol at Jetray as he passed him.
Jetray was able to turn and fire a neuroshock beam from his eyes to intercept the shot. The blasts collided and dissipated, but the two continued firing as Tommy ran across the ground, and Jetray flew through the air.
Neither shots hit one another, until Jetray got lucky and was able to snag Tommy’s pistol-hand. Upon being hit with the neuroshock beam, Tommy momentarily lost all feeling in his hand and dropped the blaster.
Jetray felt it best to follow-up, shooting yet another beam; this time aimed for Tommy’s chest to completely paralyze him. However, in a short time-span, Tommy regained control of his hand and pulled out his Zeo V Power Sword. The neuroshock beam hit Tommy’s sword and was reflected off of it, now heading right back towards Jetray.
The beam collided with Aerophibian’s chest, paralyzing Jetray and sending him slowly descending towards the ground. Tommy took this opportunity to run up, dealing numerous sword strikes to Jetray before kicking him backwards with a hefty strike.
Jetray flew backwards from the kick, but regained control of his body and flew into the air instead of landing. Tommy looked up to his alien opponent, sword raised towards him, as the star on the hilt of the Zeo V Power Sword released a powerful beam of energy towards Jetray.
Jetray steadily avoided the beam, then aimed downwards and began charging towards Tommy as fast as it could. Tommy quickly sidestepped the attack, turning and grabbing onto Jetray’s back as he latched on. The Aerophibian flew back into the air, the Zeo Red Ranger now latched onto his back.
Frantically, Jetray began trying to shake Tommy off of him, but he simply wouldn’t budge. “Get off, you bug!” Jetray commanded with a large huff. “Fine, I’ll just have to make you!”
“Yeah? And what is it that you have planned—“ Tommy began taunting Jetray, but in an instant, he was traveling at inconceivable speeds. Jetray blasted around the planet, moving faster and faster, as Tommy struggled to hold on.
Finally, when he once again reached the parking lot of Ernie’s Gym & Juice Bar, Jetray came to a complete stop. Tommy toppled over top of the Aerophibian, flying forwards so far that he burst into Ernie’s.
“Damn…!” Tommy grumbled as he sat up, surrounded by the rubble. Looking around, Tommy only saw frightened customers, who had been startled by his unexpected appearance. Ernie himself only appeared to be disappointed.
“I told you Rangers to keep your fights away from my Bar, didn’t I?” Ernie grumbled, surveying the damage. Tommy had created a gigantic hole in the wall. Tommy rubbed the back of his head before sitting up.
“Sorry, Ernie. Won’t happen again.” Tommy said sheepishly, before turning back around. Looking through the hole he created, Tommy didn’t see anyone there waiting for him. Where did Ben go off to?
The Power Ranger stepped through the hole and back into the parking lot, peering around to no avail. He knew he couldn’t keep his guard down, but didn’t know what to expect either. Looking to Kevin and Gwen, they simply shrugged before chuckling a little.
“You really didn’t see me in there, did you?” A small squeaky voice spoke up, from behind Tommy. Immediately, Tommy turned to face the creature, who appeared to be an incredibly petite, gray, alien.
“Oh, don’t tell me.” Tommy murmured, crossing your arms. “This little… thing, it’s another one of your forms?”
In response, the creature flashed green, emerging with the familiar features of Ben Tennyson. “You got it! That one was Grey Matter. He isn’t too strong, but he sure is sneaky! You should’ve seen the look on your face!”
“You can’t even see the look on my face, I’m wearing a helmet.” Tommy corrected him, but Ben laughed nonetheless.
“Don’t worry. Helmet or not, I could see just how dumbstruck you were!” Ben giggled. Tommy clenched his fists and took a step forwards.
“Is this some kind of game, to you? We’re playing with our lives here.”
“Lighten up a tad, boy scout.” Kevin retorted from the background. “We might be having a little fun with you, but that doesn’t mean you’re getting the Omnitrix.”
“You’re making it more and more clear to me that you don’t deserve a weapon of that magnitude.” Tommy said to Ben, raising his Zeo V Power Sword. “So put your guard up a little, show me you’re responsible.”
“Piece of cake! I’ve got something that’ll knock you right off your feet!” Ben yelled, running to the middle of the parking lot and slapping his Omnitrix. As with many times before, Ben was engulfed in a green light.
Emerging, Ben had transformed into a large sphere of rock, grotesque and monstrous in form. “Gravattack!” he boomed, in an equally monstrous form. Almost instantly, Tommy felt himself grow heavier than he was before.
“A living planet, with it’s own gravity…” Tommy mumbled. “I refuse to believe the world revolves around you, Tennyson. Show me what you’ve got!”
Jumping towards Gravattack, sword raised, Tommy stuck at his side. However, Tommy failed to put even the slightest dent in Gravattack’s body. With a laugh, Gravattack focused on the Zeo Red Ranger, and attacked.
Tommy felt his body become light as a feather, as he involuntarily was lifted into the sky at incredible speeds. However, as if he suddenly weighed as much as a dozen elephants, Tommy came crashing back towards the Earth. The impact created a huge crater in the parking area.
Tommy helmet crumbled into shards of glass and metal alike, falling by his feet as he struggled to lift himself up. Gravattack floated towards the crater, looking down upon Tommy with his ever-grinning expression. Tommy clutched his right arm, helping it raise the Zeo V Power Sword.
“Get ready to crumble!” Tommy roared, the star on the hilt of his sword glowing brightly, before unleashing an incredibly large and powerful beam towards Gravattack.
Tommy knew his Zeo Red power was draining fast, so he put the last of his power into this attack. He wouldn’t be able to sustain the form much longer after using it, but if it landed, the drawbacks wouldn’t quite matter.
In retaliation, Gravattack tried using his gravity manipulation to make the beam lower it’s trajectory, however it was far too powerful for even him to control. It continued rocketing towards Gravattack at incredible speeds, giving off incredible pressure.
As a last resort, Ben flashed green in an instant once again, spending no time to announce the name of his new form before he faced the beam, and slowed its incredible pace to a crawl.
Ben’s new form, Clockwork, walked out of the way of the beam, before resuming time back to normal. In a flash, the laser beam rocketed back at full speed, completely obliterating a car that was in its wake.
Tommy cursed himself out for missing such a pivotal shot, before succumbing to fatigue and falling onto his back. Ben saw the opening, transforming into a new alien, Swampfire.
“All out of steam, I see. And I had so many more aliens to show you, too!” Swampfire teased, looking down as Tommy ached in pain.
However, the Power Ranger gave no response, so Swampfire summoned some vines beneath him, which wrapped around Tommy’s body and lifted him in front of Swampfire like a prize.
“Listen, I’m willing to let you go. So long as you and your Power Ranger buddies don’t try to come and take my property anymore, understood?” Swampfire said to Tommy’s battered body. “I don’t want to have to kill you or anything, Tommy, so just make me that one promise.”
“This isn’t over…” Tommy managed to squeak out. “This fight is bigger than you or I… The fate of the universe is at risk so long as the Omnitrix remains so vulnerable…”
“I think I’ve shown you just how invulnerable my Omnitrix is, don’t you agree? I’ve only accidentally ended the universe one time, but that wasn’t even my fault!” Swampfire explained.
“You’re not really helping your case, Ben.” Gwen called to him from the sidelines. Swampfire let out a deep breath before transforming back into Ben, as the vines around Tommy wilted and dropped him to the ground.
“Just get out of here, Tommy. I’m more capable than you seem to think I am.” Ben sighed, turning his back to him and beginning to make his way towards Gwen and Kevin.
“We’ll see about that…” Tommy said between breaths, tapping his wristwatch a few times. Ben turned back to face him upon hearing those four words, but Tommy had already vanished in a red light.
“What a stubborn guy.” Kevin commented. “All he managed to do was wreck my car, get his butt whopped, and then run away.”
“I wouldn’t count him out yet, Kevin…” Ben said stoically, looking off to the crater where Tommy was laying in just moments ago. “He really kept me on my toes that entire time.”
“Plus, he’s not even the only Power Ranger.” Gwen added. “There are dozens more all around the universe, and every single one of them will be trying to confiscate the Omnitrix if they hear you have it.”
“Oh, great! You let that guy escape and now he’s going to tell all his friends about it.” Kevin shouted sarcastically. “Sometimes you just gotta put aside your honor and do what you have to do, Ben.”
“Well? What was I supposed to do, Kevin? Kill him? This isn’t about my honor, or my pride, this is about morality!” Ben shouted back. “He’s just an officer doing his job. I can’t kill him for wanting to safeguard the most powerful tool in the universe!”
“So you admit that you don’t deserve the Omnitrix, then? That you might as well have given it up when he asked you to?”
“Kevin, that’s not what I’m saying! I just don’t think this is a cause worth killing over, is all!”
“That’s enough, you two!” Gwen stepped in, ceasing the conflict. “We don’t have time to argue amongst ourselves. Whether you give up the Omnitrix or not, Ben, all you need to keep in mind is that your safety is the main priority.”
“Right… You’re right, Gwen, I’m sorry.” Ben said with a hefty sigh. “If it comes down to it I’ll do what I have to, to keep you guys and the planet safe.”
Gwen pulled the three into a group hug. Without much more than a glance, Ben and Kevin forgave each other for the argument.
Far off in Angel Grove, however, Tommy teleported back into the Control Center. His body wounded from Gravattack’s blow, and his power drained from using the full power of the Zeo V Power Sword, it only took a second before he demorphed back into his regular self.
Alpha-5 ran over to Tommy’s body, horrified by the sight. “Aiyeiyei! Tommy! Are you alright?!”
Tommy managed to sit up, facing his robot friend. “I was beaten pretty badly out there. But I’ll be fine, eventually.”
Suddenly, a disembodied head appeared in a large, tube-like glass screen in the center of the Command Center. Tommy looked up, meeting Zordon eye-to-eye. “It seems you suffered heavy damage, Tommy…” Zordon said. “Perhaps the Omnitrix was even more dangerous than I realized.”
“He just kept switching forms, and I couldn’t adapt quick enough! I know I’m better than this.” Tommy complained. However, talking about his failure only strengthened his will to continue fighting. “I may have lost this round, but the battle is far from over…”
Zordon looked down to Tommy, slightly confused. “Are you sure, Tommy? While morphing can greatly mend your physical state, you’ll still remain just as mentally exhausted as you are now.”
“That’s the thing…” Tommy responded. “If I wait for my body to refresh, I’ll be back at square one. I need to strike now, while he’s busy recovering too.”
“Tommy, I understand your pride and how you feel the need to rush back into the fight, but know that some causes aren’t worth risking your life for.” Zordon said, knowing that he can’t stop Tommy but trying regardless.
“You said it yourself, Zordon, the entire universe is at stake!” Tommy pleaded, struggling to stand to his feet. “The universe is more significant than I will ever be, so I must do everything I can to protect it.”
“… Very well.” Zordon finally gave in. “I worry for your well-being, Tommy, but nonetheless I commend you for your selfless heart. Although I know your pride has some stake in this battle, it is clear to me that you are truly doing this for the sake of the universe, as any true Power Ranger would.”
“Thank you, Zordon. I’ll do my best out there.” Tommy said with a weakened smile, tapping coordinates on his watch.
“Good luck, Ranger.” Zordon said, as Tommy disappeared in a flash of white light. Almost immediately, Tommy reappeared back in the damaged parking lot of Ernie’s Gym & Juice Bar.
“Alright, it’s time to pick this up where we left off.” Tommy proclaimed. However, looking around, Tommy didn’t see anyone who resembled Ben whatsoever. He must have left, thinking the battle was over.
Still battered and bruised from the fight, Tommy limped out onto the sidewalk, following along the trail in a search for the Omnitrix. It took him a few minutes, but eventually Tommy was able to spot Ben’s green and black t-shirt from far off.
“Hey!” Tommy called, his voice sounding pained but determined. Ben wanted so dearly to keep walking along with Kevin and Gwen, as if he didn’t hear Tommy, but he knew he had a responsibility to end their conflict, one way or another.
Reluctantly turning, Ben let out a deep groan when, as he dreaded, the man who called for him was indeed Tommy Oliver. Kevin and Gwen followed Ben’s example, with a turn and a groan.
“Who would’ve guessed…” Gwen grumbled. “In any other circumstance, I might’ve been happy to see him.”
“What? Why’s that?” Kevin asked, a tinge of jealousy in his tone.
“He’s a paleontology student, after all. There’s a lot of interesting things about prehistoric life that I’m absolutely fascinated by.” Gwen explained, but Kevin merely rolled his eyes.
“He’s like a bug, and we know exactly what he’s here for.” Kevin grumbled. “Unfortunately we won’t be having any time to listen to his list of Top Ten Wacky Dinosaur Facts.”
“I knew he’d show back up eventually, but now?” Ben wondered aloud. “His body is crumpled, he’s visibly limping. Who in their right mind would go charging back into a battle so quickly after a defeat?”
“It’s alright, Ben. Just humor his pride a little and send him on his way.” Kevin suggested. “It may be a blessing in disguise. You don’t have to kill him now, he’s so weak that you could fold him over with a hard enough push.”
Tommy finally reached the trio, still very much bruised and in pain, but with a determined look in his eyes. Despite how pained he seemed, Tommy’s courage and his fiery expression kept Ben on edge.
“Back already, Tommy?” Ben asked, crossing his arms. Tommy looked up to him with a smirk.
“I was able to catch my breath, and now I’m back. Did you think I forfeited the battle?” Tommy said, reaching for the Master Morpher on his belt. “Now more than ever, I need to take that Omnitrix of yours.”
“You speak all righteous, but it’s clear that you’re here out of pride.” Ben remarked, looking to Gwen and Kevin to silently tell them to back away. As directed, the two backed away to clear room for Ben and Tommy. “I didn’t want to finish this fight, but I’m not being given much of a choice here.”
Almost immediately after the words left Ben’s mouth, Tommy raised his Master Morpher, and Ben slapped his watch. “Tigerzord!” Tommy shouted, a white light passing over his body. Ben flashed green as he had many times before.
“Swampfire!” Ben yelled, as he completed his transformation. While Ben had assumed a form that Tommy had seen before, Tommy was sporting completely new attire. Clad in white, with a black and gold vest, Tommy was the White Ranger!
“Alright, Ben, get ready for the power of the white tiger!” Tommy announced, his body feeling completely rejuvenated as he crouched into a readied stance.
“So, you still had some tricks up your sleeve. Maybe I should be the one confiscating that Morpher of yours!” Swampfire said, outstretching his arm as it divided itself into numerous vines that flung towards Tommy.
The White Ranger leaped to avoid the vines that had been flung towards him, dodging all but one. The last remaining vine latched onto Tommy’s ankle, wrapping around it to trap him in place.
“I’m in a bit of a bind here…” Tommy exclaimed, struggling to break free, before raising his right hand to the sky. “Saba!”
Suddenly, a large white sword appeared in Tommy’s hand, with the hilt of the sword bearing the face of a tiger. “You rang?” The sword, Saba, asked, upon being summoned. Tommy responded by taking Saba, and using him to slash away the vines at his ankle.
Finally free, the White Ranger rolled to the side, creating some more distance between he and Swampfire, before pointing Saba and unleashing a beam of energy from it.
Swampfire noticed the beam coming straight towards him, deciding to raise a wall of vines to defend himself. The vines tanked the shot, and Swampfire lowered the wall back down, only to see Tommy flying towards his face!
Tommy landed a powerful kick to Swampfire’s stomach. As Tommy landed, Swampfire attempted to strike back at the Ranger with a jab, only to be met by a bicycle kick to the face!
“You’re back to your regular self, I see!” Swampfire commented, regaining his balance. “It’s as if I had never damaged you at all! In a jiffy, you’re back to your full health.”
“It’ll take a while for my old forms to be repaired, but that’s not too big a deal.” Tommy explained, crouching back to his fighting stance. “I’ve got plenty left to defeat you with!”
“I’ll just have to wear you down again!” Swampfire yelled, thrusting his palms forwards and releasing a powerful wave of fire from his hands. Tommy flipped backwards to escape the barrage of flame.
Swampfire let up his fire, allowing for Tommy to rush back in. Vines rose from the ground, creating a barricade for Swampfire, but the White Ranger did his best to navigate through it, hacking and slashing at each vine to make his way towards the alien.
However, as he made his way through the forest of vines that prevented him from getting to Swampfire, one reached out and yanked Saba from Tommy’s hands, before throwing it far off in the distance. With no way to cut down the remaining vines, Tommy was wrapped up and held in place for Swampfire.
“Well, it seems that you’ve caught me yet again.” Tommy sighed, although he didn’t sound defeated judging by his tone of voice. Swampfire walked forwards, readying a powerful blast of fire in his hands.
Just as Swampfire was about to release his burst of fire, however, Swampfire’s vine-like arms toppled to the ground! The alien looked around, confounded. “What the…?”
“Don’t leave yourself unprotected!” Said Saba, the White Ranger’s sword. It had been flying around and attacking all on its own! Immediately, Saba flew towards Tommy and cut him free from the vines.
“Tricky, aren’t we?” Swampfire remarked as he quickly grew back his arms. “Perhaps I should face your little tiger form with one of my own, don’t you think?!”
“Of course you have a tiger form, what did I expect…” Tommy sighed, grabbing a hold of Saba and getting ready to face another alien. Swampfire flashed green, transforming into a humanoid tiger-like behemoth, before letting out a powerful roar.
“This is Rath!” The Appoplexian alien boomed, with a voice so loud that its roar alone pushed Tommy back a tad. Rath quickly ran towards Tommy, black claws extending out of his paws that he swung furiously at Tommy.
With catlike reflexes, Tommy narrowly avoided each strike, before slamming into Rath’s stomach with the hilt of Saba. Rath stumbled backwards, and the White Ranger decided to follow it up with a jump-kick.
Rath was knocked in the face, stumbling backwards even further and falling to the ground. The Appoplexian fiercely growled, growing angrier and angrier. Tommy landed to his feet and took a step backwards, as Rath extended a black claw and raised it to the sky!
“Tommy, look out!” Saba warned, as Rath slammed the black claw into the ground. A mighty shock wave was created from the impact, striking the White Ranger and causing for him to lose balance.
Rath noticed his chance, running forwards and grabbing Tommy by the legs as he stumbled. In an instant, Rath spun around faster and faster with Tommy in his grip, before throwing him off in the distance!
Tommy skidded on the sidewalk, landing just at Kevin and Gwen’s feet. “Hey again, you two.” The Ranger said sheepishly as he stood back up. Kevin and Gwen simply looked to him with blank stares, letting him get back into the fight.
The White Tiger Ranger jogged back towards Rath, with the tiger noticing his reappearance and horizontally slashing his claws at Tommy. Narrowly dodging the strike yet again, Tommy kicked Rath in the chest before hopping off of the sidewalk and onto some grass, to create distance between them.
“Come and get me!” Tommy taunted, noticing that the Appoplexian’s fury grew with every attack he sustained. Rath’s black claws extended even further to crrespjd with his growing rage, charging towards Tommy at full speed.
Tommy quickly shot a blast out of Saba before leaping to the side, the blast hitting Rath in the face and causing him to lose sight for a second. Rath blindly charge forwards, finally stopping when he ran into a tree. The tree toppled over, and Rath hit the ground.
“The larger they are, the harder they fall!” Saba said proudly, watching as Rath sat up and rubbed its head. Tommy gave a small chuckle from under his helmet, watching as Rath lifted himself to his feet.
“Stupid thing, you got in my way!” Rath yelled at the tree. Tommy and Saba looked at each other, confused as they watched Rath yell at an inanimate object. However, it wouldn’t be long before Rath then picked up the tree.
“Whoa there, big guy.” Tommy said, backing up as Rath was holding the entire tree like a sword. “Let’s not get crazy, now.”
“Who are you calling crazy?!” Rath roared, swinging the tree horizontally at Tommy, the White Ranger quickly ducking under the it. Rath then swung downwards, with Tommy being forced to jump completely out of the way to avoid it.
Having missed both times, Rath’s anger continued to fume. He held the tree back, before throwing it at full speeds towards Tommy!
“What the…?!” Tommy gasped in surprise, being caught completely off guard. The White Ranger was smashed in the chest by the flying tree as it sent him flying far off in the distance.
“Why didn’t you dodge that one?!” Saba screamed frantically as he and Tommy were sent spiraling far off into the air, alongside the tree. Tommy struggled to regain consciousness, recovering from the pact; thankfully, his vest was able to absorb most of the damage, now sporting a slight crack.
“I didn’t think he was stupid enough to throw an entire tree in the city, Saba!” Tommy responded, struggling grab hod of the tree, before beginning to tap a few buttons on his wristwatch. In an instant, Tommy, Saba, and the tree vanished in a white light.
Finally, after a few seconds of teleportation, Tommy, Saba, and the tree returned peacefully to the area in which Rath had thrown them. “I thought you were smarter than to throw such a large object around in a populated city,” Tommy said in a disappointed tone, “but I guess not. You’re reckless, and that Omnitrix is a danger in your hands.”
Rath frowned towards Tommy, as Kevin and Gwen sighed in the background. “Turning into that mindless cat isn’t helping you prove yourself, Ben!” Kevin shouted to Rath.
Rath flashed green and transformed back into Ben, putting his hands on his hips. “Nothing would’ve convinced you of letting me keep it, so it doesn’t feel to me as if I ruined anything.”
“Well, you’re still on the defensive now. That watch will be contained soon enough.” Tommy stated, assuming his tiger stance once again. Ben lifted his watch, as it began to glow with energy.
“You’re backing me into a corner here, Tommy!” Ben shouted. “But I know an alien who will finish things quickly. WAY BIG!”
Suddenly, Ben began to grow larger and larger, shifting into an alien of incomprehensible size. Tall as a building, Ben’s new form, Way Big, took a huge leap, landing just outside of the city near some mountains.
“Can you match this, Power Ranger? Or do you give up?!” Way Big yelled, his voice reaching from the mountains to where Tommy was without much of a problem. Tommy looked to Kevin and Gwen.
“This is his strongest form, I’m guessing.” Tommy said to the two. Kevin shrugged.
“One of his strongest, definitely. Does one of your Power Ranger suits let you grow that big, Tommy?” Gwen asked, as Kevin snickered at the thought. Tommy sighed, but nodded his head.
“Saba, can you call in the Tigerzord for me?” Tommy asked his blade.
“Unfortunately, the White Tiger has been undergoing repairs, ever since you managed to get it sliced in two.” Saba informed him. Tommy drooped his head.
“Yeah, that makes sense…” The White Ranger said, although a glint of hope sparked back in his eyes. “Wait, I know! I haven’t used it in a while, but it outta be around here somewhere!”
The White Ranger sheathed Saba, before raising his hands to the sky. “Dragon Dagger!” he called, as a small green dagger descended into his hands. Kevin raised an eyebrow upon seeing it.
“Dude, you’re gonna want to call a bigger sword, not a smaller one.” Kevin remarked. Tommy simply ignored Kevin, lowering the dagger to his mouth and blowing into it like a flute. A heroic tune played out of the dagger, causing Kevin and Gwen to grow even more confused.
“A dagger that plays like a flute but sounds like a trumpet…” Gwen said, astonished. “I’ve never heard of anything like that before.”
However, before Tommy could explain what exactly the Dragon Dagger was to Gwen, a loud roar was heard from near the mountains. From behind Way Big emerged a gigantic robotic bipedal dragon.
“Stay safe! This could get ugly.” The White Ranger warned Gwen and Kevin, before disappearing in a white light. He reappeared in the cockpit of the Dragozord, and got situated with the controls. “It’s been quite a while since I’ve piloted the Dragonzord, and I’ve never even touched it as the White Ranger before!”
“I can’t commandeer the Dragonzord as I can the Tigerzord, Tommy,” Saba informed him, “so you’re on your own for this one!”
“No worries, Saba! I’ll get this thing figured out in no time!” The White Ranger exclaimed. Way Big turned, finally coming face-to-face with the Dragonzord.
“I didn’t actually expect you to have something like this laying around.” Way Big admitted. “But no matter, a fair fight is a fun fight!”
“I agree!” Tommy shouted from the cockpit, his voice echoing out of the Dragonzord’s maw. Quickly, the Dragonzord began firing missiles out of its fingertips, which blasted towards Way Big.
Way Big put his arms up to defend against the shots, but they still succeeded in pushing him back. Way Big then lowered his arms, running towards the Dragonzord and punching it in the chest.
The Dragonzord stumbled backwards, and caused Tommy to stumbled in the cockpit, but the damage wasn’t unbelievably bad, which allowed for the Dragonzord to fight back by using its drill tail to drill at Way Big.
Way Big, once again, lifted its arms as a form of defense, but the drill dealt major damage to him. Way Big recoiled, before putting his arms in an X-formation. “Get ready for your little toy to be destroyed!” Way Big shouted, as his arms began glowing green.
“This is bad, Tommy!” Saba warned. “You’re going to need to find a way to avoid this!”
“Already on it, Saba!” The White Ranger reassured him, punching a few buttons of the control panel. Immediately, the Dragonzord’s thrusters began firing up. As Way Big unleashed his powerful green beam of cosmic energy, the Dragonzord rocketed into the air.
The beam blasted directly below the Dragonzord, missing its target and instead aiming for a mountain off in the distance. Upon impact, the mountain completely erupted and was destroyed.
Way Big looked up to see the Dragonzord, flying just above his head now. However before he could react, Way Big was grabbed around the waist by the Dragonzord’s tail, and spun around.
“Have a nice flight!” Tommy shouted, finally letting go of Way Big and sending him blasting off into the air. Despite his incredible size, Way Big was traveling so fast that he was sent out into orbit in no time.
Way Big couldn’t quite handle the speeds at which he was traveling, and tried to make it back to Earth, but he was already far off into space. That’s when finally, Way Big… landed on something?
The huge alien sat up, looking around him. He was thrown onto the moon! Way Big couldn’t believe he was thrown so far, but was thankful for his ability to breathe in the vacuum of space.
Down on Earth, Tommy landed the Dragonzord back down to the ground. “Now I’ll just need to find his gigantic body and retrieve the Omnitrix!” Tommy celebrated. Saba, however, wasn’t as celebratory.
“Look up, Tommy!” Saba said, as Tommy looked out the window of the cockpit and into the sky. Slowly but surely, the sky turned a shade of green. “What do you think that could be?”
“I’m not sure…” Tommy began to say, but his questions were quickly answered. A large green beam slammed into the ground just in front of Tommy, creating a huge crater. Without a doubt, this was Way Big’s doing.
“He’s still alive…” Saba said in awe. “I suppose it was foolish of us to assume an alien couldn’t survive in space.”
“This is dangerous Saba. The Dragonzord doesn’t have any more weapons he won’t see coming!” Tommy explained, before crossing his arms. “Although I suppose I still have to deal with him regardless…”
Tommy sat and thought about it for a while, before reigniting the Zord’s thrusters and blasting off at incredible speeds into the sky. As he zoomed above the clouds, Tommy could see Way Big standing on the moon, readying blast after blast.
Using the Dragonzord, the White Ranger managed to narrowly avoid a few of the energy beams, before he began getting closer and closer to the moon. However, just as the Dragonzord was able to make his landing on the moon, Way Big got a clear shot.
“Tommy, we’re hit!” Saba shouted upon feeling the impact. Looking out the cockpit, Tommy could see bits and pieces of the Dragonzord flying off. Before long, the cockpit grew dark, and Tommy lost all controls.
“Finally! I landed a hit!” Way Big celebrated. Unfortunately, when he looked up, the Dragonzord was not completely destroyed as he hoped it would be. The bulk of it still remained, and was blasting out of control towards him.
“Brace for impact, Saba!” Tommy yelled, watching from the inside as his Dragonzord fell at full speed towards Way Big, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Way Big put out his hands, and then… collision.
There was a large explosion, as the Dragonzord crushed Way Bit into the ground and burst into explosive flames. Pieces of the Dragonzord, along with rubble from the moon itself, were scattered all in a giant crater.
“Tommy? Do you read me, Tommy?” A voice was heard from within the rubble. It was the voice of Zordon, coming from the Power Ranger’s wristwatch. There was no response for a long while.
Yet, a few minutes later, some rustling was heard from within the rubble. Tommy burst out, in complete shock from what happened, but alive nevertheless. He pushed aside pieces of the Dragonzord and scrambled out of the crater, before laying down on the moon.
“I… I read you, Zordon…” The White Ranger said weakly into his telecommunication device.
“Are you alright, Tommy? Saba teleported to the Command Center extremely wounded.”
“Yeah, yeah… I’m fine. Just crashed the Dragonzord into the moon at full speed, is all.” Tommy said, clutching his chest. “The pain is a bit worse than before, I can say that much.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to rest, Tommy? Your body is reaching its limit.” Zordon asked. Tommy waved him off, although Zordon obviously couldn’t see him.
“No, trust me. I’ve got him on the ropes, and I still have”—Tommy took a deep breath—”one Ranger form left.”
“… Very well, Tommy. I trust your judgment. If the Omnitrix is truly within your grasp, then I implore you to confiscate it at last.” Zordon finally said, once again giving in to Tommy’s enthusiasm.
“Thanks, Zordon.” Tommy said, before ending the call with Zordon. Tommy decided to look into the crater to see if he could find Way Big, or even Ben in his regular form, but… nothing was there.
Eventually, after a few minutes of looking around, he gave up. “I didn’t… kill him, did I? Did the blast completely evaporate his body, and the Omnitrix with it…?” Tommy wondered.
“I wouldn’t say that, exactly.” A monotone voice said, from behind Tommy. As the Power Ranger turned to see who had approached him, reality crumbled around his feet.
Suddenly, Tommy Oliver stood on the void of all existence. He both existed and didn’t, only him and his new enemy visible. Tommy looked around, but everything was pitch black. In front of him floated a dark, celestial being, sporting the ever-so-familiar Omnitrix on his chest.
“What?! What did you do? Where am I?!” Tommy asked frantically. The being, Alien X, had no change in emotion.
“I ended time. I ended space. Once I defeat you, I will recreate it all, and resume life as it were.” Alien X explained. The White Ranger, in his torn and shattered power suit, clenched his fists.
“So that’s it, then? You’ve destroyed everything, Ben?” Tommy shouted. “And yet you fail to see why I risked my life to confiscate your Omnitrix.”
“Fret not, Tommy. I deleted everything to commemorate your last stand. In this universe, all that remains is you and I.” Alien X continued. “Only he victor will be able to resume it all.”
“I’ve had enough of your pointless games!” Tommy yelled, engulfed in rage, as he leaped towards Alien X, fist raised. The White Ranger threw the punch. “What?!”
Tommy looked around. Alien X was floating in front of his yet again, as if Tommy never attempted to punch him in the first place.
“This is Alien X. It’s far more powerful than anything you could have even comprehended before now. Time, space, all rests in the palm of my hand.”
“Quit messing with me…” Tommy growled. “If you’re going to attack, then do it!”
As if answering Tommy’s request, Alien X immediately appeared in front of the Power Ranger and placed his weightless hand on Tommy’s chest. Slowly but surely, the White Ranger armor began evaporating out of thin air. Tommy watched in awe as the White light was snuffed out.
“Are you happy now, Tommy?” Alien X wondered. “You’ve been stripped of your power. Accept your loss, never show your face to me again, and I shall bring the universe back as it was when we left it.”
Tommy peered down to his body. Just as expected, he was merely wearing his regular clothing; any trace of the White Ranger form was erased from him. However, looking further… Alien X forgot to erase something else.
“Ben, I think I’ll have to turn down your offer.” Tommy smirked, grabbing hold of the Master Morpher on his belt. “A fair fight is a fun fight. Don’t you agree?”
“You never fail to entertain the mind, Tommy Oliver.” Alien X remarked, staying back as he watched what Tommy was going to do. The Power Ranger raised the Master Morpher to the sky, his soul burning such an intense green that it’s light nearly consumed the void.
“Dragonzord!” Tommy howled, his voice echoing endlessly. A green light passed over his body, and he reemerged in his final transformation, the Mighty Morphin Green Ranger. The Green Ranger proudly held the Dragon Dagger, assuming an intimidatingly powerful position. “Your move, Ben.”
Alien X didn’t bother giving a snarky remark, ready to finish the fight once and for all. Vanishing towards Tommy, Alien X unleashed a few punches and kicks as fast as the eye could see. However, Tommy, foreseeing the attack, was able to flip backwards and avoid the strikes.
Tommy then rushed back towards Alien X, not wasting any time with formalities, but instead plunging his Dragon Dagger directly into Alien X’s side. The Celestialsapien recoiled backwards, telekinetically taking the Dragon Dagger and throwing it away.
The Dragon Dagger appeared back into Tommy’s hand in a flash, as he thrusted his arms forwards and shot consecutive green energy blasts from the blades. Alien X teleported around the void to avoid these blasts, although one managed to snag his side.
“Damn… He’s somehow able to keep up with me!” Ben though to himself. “I have to reverse this.”
Ben fled into his mind and took a hold of the chains of time, beginning to reverse the events that had transpired. However, nothing seemed to be happening. As Ben exited his subconscious, he saw that Tommy had grabbed a hold of Alien X’s throat.
“Your tricks won’t work on me anymore.” Tommy said in a solemn tone. “I’ve dwarfed what I once was. I’m finally on a level comparable to yours, Ben.”
Tommy followed up his claims by quickly headbutting Alien X out of his grasp, jumping forwards, and delivering a sweep kick to his face. Alien X was quick to regain his balance, but couldn’t possibly understand how Tommy was resisting his attacks.
“I don’t want to kill you, Tommy.” Alien X admitted, the voice of Ben coming through in his tone. “Don’t make me do it.”
“So I drive you into a corner and this is how you present yourself to me. I don’t take kindly to your false promises.” Tommy said bitterly. “Forfeit your power, secure the safety of the universe, and I won’t have to be the one to end you.”
“I’m serious, Tommy.” Alien X pleaded. He stood to face Tommy, his form as imposing as ever. Although he couldn’t possibly understand how Tommy was resisting his time travel and space distortion, he knew there would be a way to finish the fight for good.
“You’re serious?! Not once during this battle could you tell me what that means!” Tommy growled, delivering a dirty punch to Alien X’s jaw. The Celestialsapien fell to the ground, as reality began to reform and show the stars around them. “The death of the destroyer brings about creation. All of your damage is coming apart with each blow I deal to you.”
Ben stayed on the ground. He so dearly wanted for Tommy to simply give up and leave, but that was an impossible scenario. “Can’t you see, Tommy?” Alien X continued to plead. “It’s my holding of the watch that’s prevented mass destruction, not caused it. Containing the Omnitrix will turn out terribly.”
“That’s what you’d like to believe, I’m sure.” The Green Ranger said punching Alien X back onto the ground, before kneeling beside him and putting his hand on the Omnitrix. “I’ll be taking this, once and for all.”
“Tommy, don’t touch that.” Alien X warned. “I’m begging you, Tommy, don’t mess with the Omnitrix.”
“This is for the sake of the universe!” Tommy yelled fiercely, using the Dragon Dagger to help pry the Omnitrix from Alien X’s chest. “You’ve proven how dangerous it is! I need to do it!”
The Omnitrix’s normal lime green color was twisted and distorted into a sinister orange as it was ripped from Alien X’s chest. The Omnitrix transformed back into a watch as Alien X turned back into Ben.
Noticing the strange orange color, Tommy knew something was wrong. The Power Ranger quickly dropped the watch and took a few steps backwards. Ben grabbed the Omnitrix back, and looked up to Tommy.
“Wh-what is it doing?” Tommy asked. “I took it from you, didn’t I? What’s going on with it?”
“It’s… it’s a self destruct feature that activates if the Omnitrix is ever forcefully taken from its host…” Ben explained, as the Omnitrix almost grew into an even more fiery orange color. “I never forfeited it to you Tommy, you took it. You failed.”
“That can’t be it… You’ve got to be kidding me!” Tommy fretted, falling to his knees as his green helmet was yanked off and floated off in space. Tommy let his head fall into his hands. “All that just to activate exactly what I was trying to prevent…!”
“I can’t stop it now… I’ll only be able to reverse it later…” Ben continued to explain. “This is the end of the line.”
Just as Ben had said that, the Omnitrix let out a deadly sound. In an instant, it released all of its stored energy in the form of a powerful orange wave. The wave passed through Tommy, it passed through the Earth, and eventually passed through the entire universe.
Everything in its past was incinerated, turned to ash and vanquished from existence. Only Ben remained, floating in a void of Tommy’s own doing. “Things could’ve ended so much better than this…”
KO![]
Ben Tennyson quickly slipped the watch back on his wrist, as it slowly but surely regained its regular green color. With just a mere thought, Ben resumed his position as Alien X.
The Celestialsapien spread his arms, as light began to flood the void once again. Eventually, everything was returned to normal, as if absolutely nothing had happened at all.
Alien X flew over the moon, looking over to the green-clad warrior who awoke. Tommy Oliver looked around, completely unaware of the events that had transpired. Tommy tapped his wristwatch, and disappeared in a flash of green.
“I’ll have to be more careful with the Omnitrix from now on…” Alien X sighed, flying back towards Angel Grove where he had left his friends waiting. “We could’ve been friends in another life, Tommy.”
Alien X descended in Angel Grove, transforming back into Ben before anybody saw him. Kevin and Gwen embraced Ben with a group hug. “Ben! Where have you been?” Gwen asked.
Kevin smirked, crossing his arms. “Yeah, buddy. You disappeared all of the sudden, something going on?”
“Don’t worry about it, guys. Just had to deal with something really quick, is all.” Ben explained, before chuckling. The three walked down the sidewalk, and, at last, it was all over.
Conclusion[]
Boomstick: Well, it seems we can finally close the curtains! That must have been our longest battle yet, don’t you think?
Wiz: Agreed, Boomstick. However, we aren’t done just yet.
Boomstick: Oh, right…! We still have to explain shit…
Wiz: Tommy put up an incredible fight, and certainly could pose a great challenge to most of Ben’s aliens. However, in the end, Ben simply had more ways to finish the fight than Tommy did.
Boomstick: Tommy posed a great challenge to a large amount of Ben’s arsenal, but one thing he simply couldn’t overcome was Alien X! Although Tommy has overcome Drakkon who had similar reality and time distortion powers, this simply wasn’t the same!
Wiz: That’s right. Although Lord Drakkon possessed the ability to distort space and time at his will, he lacked the ability to deconstruct and reconstruct a universe, as Alien X was able to do. Tommy simply never faced that kind of destructive force before.
Boomstick: But Wizard, I though the Heart of the Masters was able destroy universes with ease? Shouldn't that apply?
Wiz: Not necessarily. Although the Heart of the Masters is truly as powerful as you've said, its use in the Shattered Grid is quite limited. Lord Drakkon's usage of the Heart of the Masters was mainly limited to interstellar travel, and with manipulating time.
Boomstick: And although you could argue that Lord Drakkon still possesses that sort of power, even if he's never really used it, keep in mind that it simply doesn't apply to Tommy! Tommy did confront Lord Drakkon, yes, but there are too many factors going in that fight!
Wiz: The Heart of the Masters deteriorates the mind of those who use it, so long as they have evil intentions. Naturally, Lord Drakkon was driven to madness. And seeing himself, Tommy, from a parallel universe in which he's a good guy, didn't help.
Boomstick: And, in the end, their final encounter was fairly brief! Lord Drakkon never truly fought back, especially not with the destructive powers of the Heart of the Masters!
Wiz: At most, you could say that Tommy was able to resist time and space manipulation, since he was survived Lord Drakkon warping reality around him, although the feat is too vague to be applied to destructive capabilities. Overall, while Tommy could pose a fight against Alien X, he didn't have what it took to put him down, while Ben certainly did.
Boomstick: And although you can argue that Tommy would be able to kill Ben before he even transforms into Alien X, that isn’t very plausible either! With the Omnitrix as powerful and complex as it is, it had way too many fail-safes for Tommy to be able to work around!
Wiz: If Tommy ever really came close to defeating one of Ben’s aliens, the fail-safe would simply be able to turn Ben into whatever alien he needed the most to overcome Tommy.
Boomstick: And unfortunately for Tommy, although he himself does have any different forms, Ben simply outnumbers him by a large margin! Meaning that Tommy would always be forced to adapt to Ben’s differing fighting styles, and wouldn’t have a definitive way of keeping Ben out for good!
Wiz: In conclusion, while Tommy Oliver is certainly a capable fighter, who could throw Ben for a loop in more places than one, he simply lacks the ability to end the fight, which brought upon his downfall.
Boomstick: Tommy may be the most well-known Power Ranger of all time, but he simply didn’t have enough Omni-tricks up his sleeve to keep Ben down!
Wiz: The winner is, Ben Tennyson.
