Description[]
Bayonetta vs. Fate. They bring their spears to any period they are in to fight.
Introduction[]
Wiz: Whether it be the past or the present, the spear is an intriguing weapon.
Boomstick: And we make that comparison today because we have two warriors to use this type of weapon in whatever era they are in.
Wiz: Balder, the Lumen Sage from Bayonetta.
Boomstick: And Vlad III, the Lancer of Black. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Balder[]
Wiz: Long ago, long after the First Armageddon that resulted in the creation of Paradiso, Inferno and Earth, two factions arose in relation to the first two realms.
Boomstick: The Umbra Witches, who formed contracts with the Inferno demons, and the Lumen Sages, who worshipped the Angels of Paradiso.
Wiz: In spite of both factions being foils to each other, they both had to work together to preserve the balance between light and darkness.
Boomstick: There was a rule to their fragile partnership though. No workplace fraternizing between the factions. Unfortunately, two of them couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
Wiz: The promising Lumen Sage, Balder, fell in love with an Umbra Witch, Rosa, and from that union, a child was born.
Boomstick: They named her Cereza, but we all know her as the angel-killing witch, Bayonetta. But a kid is a lot harder to keep secret than an affair, and Balder and Rosa where punished by their peers.
- Background
- Age: 700+
- Height: 7'7>
- Lumen Sage
- Father of Bayonetta
- Known Identities: Masked Lumen, Father Balder
- Named after the Norse God of Light
Wiz: For Rosa, she was to be imprisoned for life. For Balder, it was banishment. Ultimately, this led to two major conflicts. The Clan Wars and the Witch Hunts, where members of both clans were pushed to the brink of extinction.
Boomstick: Balder himself was in fact the main leader of these Witch Hunts, but ironically, it had nothing to do with getting revenge, as you all might expect. Instead, it was a bid to save the woman he loved.
Wiz: It was Balder's hope that if the Witch Hunts were launched, it was simply scare the Umbra Witches back into line, and there would thus be no need for them all, including his beloved Rosa, to be purged by the Angels. But in this world, it seems that angels are the worst. They wanted both clans destroyed in order to reclaim the ultimate power in the World; it's Eyes.
Boomstick: The World has Eyes? You mean like the one Jupiter has?
Wiz: No, the Eyes of the World are gifts bestowed upon humanity by the God of Chaos, whose power was practically unmatched. With the Eyes, one would control the power of Creation itself. Such a prize is sought after by many, including one half of the God of Chaos himself.
Boomstick: Naturally, it was the evil half, and naturally, he would do whatever it took. Like killing Rosa and framing his good counterpart for it, all as part of a gamble to get all the means of obtaining ultimate power he needs. So he brought Balder to the present, using him as an unwitting enforcer. And with him to the present, he brought all sorts of skills.
Wiz: Perhaps most notably was his double-headed glaive.
- Arsenal
- Holy Glaive
- Peacock Feathers
- Battle Robes
- Mask
- Helps him focus on single target
Boomstick: Inferno yeah it is! This bejeweled beauty can be used for quick and sudden slash attacks, and that capability is increased twofold when it gets split into two halves.
Wiz: It also makes for a mean javelin, capable of piercing through a demon's skull with ease. And sometimes, Balder can even summon up massive constructs of the spear through portals to stab at his foes from any angle.
Boomstick: Balder can even make use of Feathers in combat, tossing them like darts of covering the air in them for an attack that really does stab you from every angle. Apparently, he can heal with them too. And whilst I'm not the kind of guy to appreciate fashion, Balder absolutely kills it with his Battle Robes.
Wiz: Which are infused with divine thread which hard off evil spirits, and comes with a mask to which one of his identities lends its names. And far from being just a cool accessory, it helps Balder focus on a singular in combat.
Boomstick: And in combat, Baldur's powers make him an absolute beast. With speed, strength and agility well beyond the superhuman threshold, he's certainly someone to keep on your toes against.
- Powers and Abilities
- Superhuman prowess
- Element Manipulation
- Flight
- Angel Summoning
- Fortitudo
- Temperantia
- Sapientia
- Light Speed
- Beast Within
- Wolf Within
- Supercharge
- Right Eye
Wiz: Balder can increase his speed to ludicrous levels with Light Speed, to such extents where it looks like he's teleporting. And yes, it is a speed enhancer, not time manipulation, in spite of what it's dark counterpart Witch Time is believed to be.
Boomstick: He can turn into a wolf with Beast Within, fly using peacock wings and aside from his glaive, can attack using a variety of elemental attacks.
Wiz: Mainly, he can launch fireballs and giant orbs of electricity. And to his side, he can call upon powerful Angels.
Boomstick: But not just any Angels. We're talking about the Cardinal Virtues, all of which are amazingly powerful in their own right.
Wiz: Fortitudo is a two headed dragon who can summon magma flows, Temperantia takes the form of a sentient suit of armor who can command storms large enough to cover whole countries and Sapientia, a mechanical beast who can generate tsunamis, and is said to be the reason why Moses was able to part the Red Sea.
Boomstick: It's possible he also summons all those lesser angels as well, but the Cardinals are his very best allies, called upon with a badass phrases I'm pretty sure are in Latin. But when Balder wants to get truly serious, he Supercharges himself.
Wiz: In this state, Balder's attacks increase in intensity and power, and he's capable of flight.
Boomstick: And conjuring up swords made of light. Oh but that's not all that Balder can do. Remember the Eyes of the World, the ones everyone are after? Well, Balder has one of those Eyes!
Wiz: The Right Eye is said to give the wielder the ability to see the histories and futures of whoever it looks upon, some abilities related to creation and a great deal of power.
Popup: Whilst Balder likely doesn't have full access to the creation-based powers of the Eye, the fact his present day self used it to destroy a moon and it glowed when he possessed it during his time as the Masked Lumen means he must have access to some of its abilities.
Boomstick: That's underselling it. A single blast from the Right Eye was able to blow up an entire moon! Talk about laser eye surgery. And, by the way, this was the other reason the evil half of the God of Chaos, Lobster, brought him to the present; so that he could take the eye when all other pieces of the puzzle fell into place.
- Feats
- Battled evenly with Bayonetta
- Activates Light Speed before bullets could hit him
- Blew up a moon with the Right Eye
- Imprisoned Loptr inside of himself
- Summoned Omne alongside Bayonetta
- Defeated Loki, Bayonetta, several Infernal Demons
Wiz: The other pieces of the puzzle, so to speak, where none other than the good half of Aesir, Loki, and Balder's own daughter Bayonetta, who herself possessed the Left Eye of the World.
Boomstick: Old Balder really proved himself to be Bayonetta's match, if not outright better. Over the three times they clashed, the first one ended with a draw at best, the second was inconclusively interrupted by their battleground breaking apart and the first saw Balder use his Supercharge to actually overwhelm Bayonetta.
Wiz: Who is strong enough to head butt entire skyscrapers and hurl a massive satellite weighing 900 billion tons.
Boomstick: She's also handed several angels their heavenly asses, like our aforementioned Cardinals with their disaster educing presences, a car angel who can cross the universe in a single day and a pair of Angel twins who are said to be capable of literally destroying the planet.
Wiz: And eventually, Balder was able to figure out he had been tricked and took the fight to Loptr. Although he lost the power of the Eye, in that era at least, that seems to be how time travel in the Bayonetta universe works, with a little help he was able to best the deity who had ruined his life before performing the ultimate sacrifice.
Boomstick: When Loptr tried to skedaddle to be reborn in another era, Balder absorbed him into himself, so that when he died, he would take him with him.
Wiz: Although this process ultimately corrupted Balder into Father Balder, his gambit ultimately paid off. Not only was his daughter able to end his now cursed existence but before she unknowingly did all that, time travel confusion don't worry about it, he got to hear her call him Daddy for possibly the final time.
Boomstick: Not a bad way for the last Lumen Sage to go.
Lancer of Black[]
Wiz: The Great Grail War was unique among Grail Wars, to say the least.
Boomstick: Well, it does have 'great' in the title and it's for a good reason too. Normally, a Grail War is fought between 7 Masters and their Servants. But in the Great Grail War, there are 14 of them.
Wiz: With two sides, each with 7 of these unions in its ranks. The Black Faction and the Red Faction. We've already covered one of the Red Faction's Servants, the Saber Mordred, so know it's time for a look at one of the Black Faction's Servants.
Boomstick: One summoned by the head of the Black Faction, Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia, to serve as a kind of de-facto leader. And what a choice he made in summoning one of history's classic monsters. It was none other than Count Dracula himself.
Wiz: Not exactly. The version that Darnic summoned was not the monster Dracula, but the man whose exploits gave rise to the legend, Vlad Tepes the Third. Or Vlad the Impaler.
- Background
- Age: 46 at time of death
- Height: 6'2
- AKA Shield of Christianity, the Impaler, Dracula
- Lancer Class Servant of Darnic Yggdmillennia
- Likes competent vassals but not ambitious ones
Boomstick: Well if it's not Dracula he's going for then Vlad the Impaler is the second-best choice I guess.
Wiz: Vlad wanted it to be his only choice. In fact, Darnic promised him that if they were able to win the Grail War themselves, then he could use its wish granting abilities to undo the stain that was the legend of Dracula. It would probably have something to do with erasing Bram Stoker from history.
Boomstick: Well, I for one would have been happy to be memorialized as a legendary monster but Vlad had his eye on the prize. Serving as the field commander for the Black Faction Servants, he coordinated them throughout the first half of the Great Grail War. Caster of Black even made him a robo-horse to ride on.
Wiz: Whilst he was a natural leader in this regard, in combat he is no slouch. He has the standard physical prowess of a Servant, including superhuman strength and speed and an accelerated healing factor.
- Abilities
- Superhuman prowess
- Spear proficiency
- Magic Resistance
- Demonic Defender of State
- Lord of Execution
- Summons stakes from the ground
- With DDoS, they can become a conceptual attack
- Instills terror in those who see it
- Punishment King
- The Succession of Blood
- Turns him into a vampire
Boomstick: Being a Lancer means that he also has the Class Skill of Magic Resistance. Practically any high ranking spell is useless against him. Oh, and as a Lancer, he wields a spear. But that's not the reason he's in the Lancer Class.
Wiz: Yeah, the most glaringly obvious reason for that Class requirement is, naturally, the practice of execution he endorsed.
Boomstick: Impalement baby. And it manifests himself through his Noble Phantasm, King of Execution.
Wiz: An Anti-Army type Noble Phantasm, Vlad is able to command entire legions of stakes to burst from his body, from the ground or even from each other, creating entire barricades in the process of skewering his victims. And if that wasn't enough, the sight of those impaled magically inflict a curse of worry and terror upon whoever looks upon them.
Boomstick: Well duh. I mean, don't you know how Vlad got his victims on the stakes in the first place? Just seeing that reenactment on Deadliest Warriors gave me the willies, although I admired the design of his weighted sword. But the full power of the King of Execution comes into play with Demonic Defender of State.
Wiz: Demonic Defender enables Dracula, prior to the start of a battle, to make a line in the sand, so to speak, and claim a large area as his own territory. Whenever he stands within it, the accompanying boost to his Parameters is comparable to the boost a Mad Enhancement does.
Boomstick: And remember, Mad Enhancements are what makes Berserkers so damn powerful. And Vlad doesn't even go bonkers as a result. Whilst his Parameters are initially kinda lacking at first, with DD they skyrocket. And that's without considering what it does to his Noble Phantasm.
Wiz: The true strength of King of Execution is not its ability to stab someone. Rather, it is it's ability to induce the concept of being stabbed onto someone.
Boomstick: Basically, all Vlad has to do is think about someone getting stabbed and they are, stakes sprouting from their body like they've always been there. No way to dodge, and no way to block it. All you can do is try to escape DD and pray Vlad doesn't notice you.
Wiz: I must say that it is surprising that Vlad considers it alright to use his mass-killing skewering and not his Legend of Dracula. Must be because it was in the name of his people that he used the partition of impalement.
Boomstick: Wait, what was that?
Wiz: Oh, he absolutely refuses to use his other Noble Phantasm, as it embodies the thing he hates the most; his identity as Count Dracula. It is only through the forceful coercing of his master via a command seal that Vlad will make use of it.
Boomstick: Too bad as well. As a vampire, he gets physically boosted, can shapeshift, hypnotize others, as even threaten the entire world with a vampire plague. Still, he's plenty dangerous with his other abilities, especially because of how they work.
- Feats
- Held his own against Lancer of Red
- Restrained Berserker of Red
- As Dracula, physically overpowered four Servants
- Destroyed a small army of Dragon Tooth Warriors
- Bypassed Karna's supernatural defenses
- Defeated 50 mages at the same time
Wiz: It was his conceptually powered King of Execution that enabled him to go toe-to-toe for a time with his Red Faction counterpart, Karna, who was pretty much the Great Grail War's equivalent of Gilgamesh. Except, you know, a whole lot nicer.
Boomstick: This Karna guy could not only melt the ground with nearly 2 megatons worth of TNT (DemonGodMitchAubin) but was usually protected by a supernatural armor that reduces all attacks directed at him by 90%. But because King of Execution is able to get you with spikes as though they were always there, it didn't really matter. This made Vlad one of the few Servants capable of matching him in a one-on-one fight.
Wiz: It wouldn't be Vlad's only victory on the battlefield. Just as the Great Grail War began, a small army of mages attempted to move in on Yggdmillennia's territory. Only one survived Vlad's assault, and that was just because he let him.
Boomstick: Vlad was even able to restrain Red Faction's Berserker, Spartacus, who's strength has the same rank as the Fifth Holy Grail War's Berserker, Heracles, who's strong enough to cleave a whole mountain in half.
Wiz: Speaking of, it's been said that if Vlad had been summoned in the borders of Romania, he would have gotten in a boost in strength similar to King Arthur if she had been summoned in Britain and Heracles himself if he had been summoned in Greece.
Boomstick: But if there's one thing Lancers are known for in Fate, it's getting the short end of the stick, pun intended.
Wiz: Vlad's master Darnic was pushed to desperation as the Red Faction was able to claim ownership of the Greater Grail for themselves and so used his Command Seal to fuse him and Vlad together into Dracula, Vlad's greatest berserk button. And in the end, it didn't even matter as he was struck down by Shirou Kotomine taking advantage of his new weakness to holy weapons.
Boomstick: Well, at least in the anime, it's implied that by driving stakes through his own possessed body's ankle, Vlad was able to unsure the destruction of both his twisted self and the man who had denied him his dignity. Say what you will, but this Lancer of Black was one hardcore bastard.
Interlude[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set and we've run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: It's time for a Death Battle
The Battle[]
Setting: territory in front of the Black Faction fortress
Balder led an army of Acceptance Angels across the grassland, seeing the castle in the distance. The ground suddenly rumbled and the legions of Angels behind him were sudden skewered on stakes that shot from the earth. Balder gave them a quick glance before noting the figure walking through the fog towards him.
Vlad III: What business do you have here?
Balder: I am tracking someone. I believe they came through here. Give me passage or you will face the consequences.
Vlad snorted and pulled out his spear.
Vlad: Fool. I have vanquished entire armies. One man will be no problem.
Balder summoned his Holy Glaive.
Balder: I am no mere man...
FIGHT!
He suddenly charged forwards, almost gliding, and stabbed out with the Glaive. Vlad swung his spear upwards, deflecting the strike, before transferring the spear to his other hand with a quick maneuver so he could stab it at Balder's exposed chest. He had underestimated the Sage's skill however, and he lightly dropped his Glaive before grabbing it again so that the bejeweled center of it could block Vlad's stab. The impact sent Balder skidding backwards and Vlad took off after him, swinging out with his spear. Balder dodged the attacks with quick darting movements of his head before using one end of his Glaive to block a fourth swipe. With a twirl of the weapon he pushed away Vlad's before slashing upwards, the Servant hopping backwards to avoid the slash.
From there, the two of them stabbed and slashed whilst darting around each other, sparks flying from each clash. At one point during this, Balder drew backwards and hurled his Glaive straight at Vlad, who leaned backwards smirking as he did. It faded when Balder vanished from his sight and appeared behind him to grab the Glaive and swing it at his opponent's head. But before the golden blade could connect, it instead did so with a stake that suddenly burst out of the ground. Vlad's smirk returned and he jabbed his spear backwards to slam the butt of it into his foe's stomach, sending him skidding backwards for a second time with the wind knocked from him. Another stake shot from the ground, it's point aimed directly at Balder's masked face. However, the Sage activated Light Speed, reducing the stake moving to a crawl from his perspective. Casually, he grabbed the end of the still elongating stake and snapped it off, rendering it short of hitting him just as it naturally came to a stop. Balder cancelled out Light Speed, letting Vlad see what he had done.
To his confusion, Vlad merely smirked harder.
Vlad: Fool.
The piece of stake that Balder held vibrated before another stake erupted out from it, aimed straight at Balder's mask. He dropped the piece and darted backwards, the stake only barely scraping by off his mask. Vlad chuckled.
Vlad: Impressive. Your corpse will make an interesting decoration to my stakes. King of Execution!
With the naming of his Noble Phantasms, masses of stakes burst from the ground towards Balder, who separated his Glaive into two halves to better help himself cut through the stakes at they came at him, doing so with such speed and ferocity he was forced to retreat backwards as he did. A shadow fell over him whilst he chopped away, and he chanced a look up to see Vlad bearing down at him, spear raised. Balder kicked backwards with an extra boost of strength, away from the stakes and Vlad's downwards stab that connected with the ground. From his point of impact, Vlad commanded more stakes to shoot forwards. Balder reconnected his Glaive halves together, spinning the remade weapon in front of him to slice the stakes apart. He suddenly felt the ground below him shake and he jumped upwards slightly to avoid the stakes that came outwards. He landed deftly on the points with inhuman poise before Vlad summoned more stakes to ride them towards where Balder was. Their weapons' points clashed together before Balder jumped again to avoid the additional stakes that stabbed towards him. He landed on these as well, Vlad joining him to continue their dueling, whilst summoning up more stakes to try and get Balder. Thus, the two battled on a tower of stakes that continued to increase in height. At the very top, they clashed their weapons together a few times before Balder jumped up over Vlad's stab. With a downwards thrust of his Glaive, a massive manifestation of it stabbed out from nowhere towards the Lancer. The stack of stakes was smashed apart by the giant Glaive, all the way down to the bottom, Vlad landing a few feet away from the unfolding destruction.
Balder suddenly appeared out of nowhere in front of him, stabbing his Glaive into his chest. The Lancer coughed up blood before Balder kicked him off his weapon, pushing him back several feet before summoning up a cluster of fireballs in front of himself. With a wave of his hand, Balder sent them shooting towards Vlad, who quickly rose up a barrier of stakes to block them. Chunks of stakes where sent flying upwards which Vlad commanded to sprout more stakes downwards towards Balder. Although he dodged the first couple by himself, he was forced to transform into the Wolf Within to outpace the rest of them. Vlad smirked and directed more stakes to burst out of the ground, herding Wolf Balder towards a certain area of land.
Balder's escape was halted by several stakes rising out of the ground in front of himself, forcing him back into his normal self. He turned to see Vlad marching towards him. He conjured his Glaive back to hand and swung it down at the Lancer, only for his own spear to flash upwards and deflect it. With Demonic Defender of State boosting his strength, the Glaive was wrenched out of Balder's hand and sent flying up into the air. Vlad slashed out with the spear again and Balder jumped upwards, leaving the stakes behind him to get sliced apart. Now in the air, Balder grabbed the Glaive and blocked Vlad's attack when he too entered the air, which sent him shooting down towards the ground. He landed on his feet and blocked the downwards swing Vlad attacked with, the effort of which pushed him down onto one knee. Acting quickly, he utilized Light Speed, slipping behind Vlad for a cheap shot at his back, but the empowered Lancer angled his spear behind himself to block the attack before whipping around and slashing the tip of his spear across his midriff. Balder grunted at the attack before Vlad then swiped it upwards, slashing him across his mask. A gash was opened by the impact, through which Balder's glowing eye glared at the Lancer, who clenched his fist and commanded a mass of stakes to stab out at him. The Lumen Sage thrusted out his hand and sent out an orb of electricity, his attack colliding with Vlad's and unleashing a massive blast that sent the two of them skidding backwards.
Taking advantage of his new relief, Balder flung three Feathers into the air.
Balder: Ziracah!
The feathers became a portal through which Fortitudo emerged, his dragon heads shooting out blasts of fire that lit up the land on either side of Vlad, trapping him between walls of flames. The Lancer, however, had a calm look on his face.
Vlad: A dragon hmm...how ironic.
Fortitudo roared and prepared to attack and Vlad flicked his head up at him. Spikes suddenly erupted across the Angel's body, sending out white fragments and blood. Fortitudo's face twisted in a silent scream before he faded away, leaving Balder stunned...
Balder: What...?
...before the same thing happened to him, stakes tearing out of his body. He let out a cry of pain and shock, sagging to his hands and knees. His cracked mask fell to the ground whilst Vlad grinned. With a roar and sweeping of his hand, more stakes came from Balder's body and from every angle around him, impaling him inside and out and obscuring him from view with the sheer number of stakes. Vlad smirked at his handiwork.
Vlad: This is the fate of those who invade my land. Too bad you did not heed my warn-HYUK!
He looked down to see, in shock, a feather had lodged itself in his chest. More suddenly appeared behind him and as one they darted forwards to stab him all over his body, driving him onto his own knees. As he coughed blood, the stakes containing Balder where blown apart as the Lumen Sage unleashed his full power, floating up with wings. He looked down at the Lancer.
Balder: Since you so eloquently claimed you gave me a chance, I will do the same for you; have you no more tricks to bring out.
Vlad glared up at him, before grinning painfully.
Vlad: ...No.
He brandished his spear and with a defiant yell, charged towards Balder, intending to activated King of Execution at the same time of his assault. He never got the chance as Balder's hand flashed with golden energy and he slashed downwards with a beam. Vlad's two halves, made from being cut straight down the middle, fell short of Balder onto the ground. Balder cancelled out his full power, landing in front of the Servant's twin remains.
KO!
Outcome[]
Boomstick: Looks like Light, Darkness and Chaos weren't the only things split up.
Wiz: Lancer of Black was a credible threat alright but so was the Lumen Sage and to a much greater degree between the two.
Boomstick: Compared to who they both scaled to, the different in stats was pretty clear. Vlad was comparable to Servants who had strength capable of cutting mountains in two and moving at hundreds of times the speed of sound. And Balder was comparable to Bayonetta, who battled both Angels capable of destroying the world with a fraction of their strength and crossing the universe in less than a day. Pretty clear cut.
Wiz: Still, Vlad's King of Executioner was nothing to be sneezed out. Manifesting as the very concept of getting and being impaled made it a tricky power to deal with. And from a simple glance, it could have been said as being an easy way to win. But there's a lot more to it than that.
Boomstick: Although it was something that gets someone from the inside, it's not an insta-kill technique. After all, Karna was able to survive it being used on himself and it even bypassed his damage reducing power.
Wiz: In other words, even Karna's insides were physically tough enough to survive King of Execution. And considering that Balder could match Bayonetta in battle, who in turn bested those planet-destroying Angels, it's a safe bet to say that he could as well.
Popup: Although the sight of the Stakes are said to instill panic and fear on whoever see them, Balder could take hits from the poisonous whips of Alruna, which had poison capable of installing mind-altering effects, without any negative issues.
Boomstick: Heck, Balder once got a lipstick bullet lodged straight into his skull when he was older, so organ damage is likely no issue for him to survive.
Wiz: And even then, this is all under the assumption that Vlad would get the chance to use King of Execution, whether or not he was within the borders of Demonic Defender. You see, with his superior speed, Light Speed enhancement and the future-showing power of the Right Eye, it's very possible that Balder could have tagged Vlad before he utilized his Noble Phantasm, with strength more than what the Servant could survive. Planet-destroying-angels and all that again.
Boomstick: And the biggest elephant in the room is Vlad's refusal to use Legend of Dracula.
Wiz: Not that it may have done much help. After all, Balder's entire self is characterized by holiness; his Holy Glaive for one and the divine threads woven into his robes, all of which would serve as effective Kryptonite to the unholy form of Dracula. When you look at the large picture, in spite of Vlad being one of the Black faction's most formidable Servants, Balder simply had the abilities, power, durability and speed on his side.
Boomstick: Still, this was pretty high Staked.
Wiz: The winner is Balder.

Trivia[]
- Connections: Both are warriors who wield spears, and massive spear constructs, and were summoned into the modern era for specific purposes (Balder for his Eye of the World and Lancer to participate in the Greater Grail War). Both also have long light hair and ended up possessed by others, which turned them into the more villainous individuals they are known for (Father Baldur and Dracula respectively). Both also have connections to religion (Baldur, as a Lumen Sage, serves Paradiso, a stand-in for Heaven and Vlad the Impaler was also known as the Shield of Christianity). However, whilst Balder is a Lumen Sage, an occupation associated with light, Lancer is a member of the Black Faction.
- Animation Style: 3D.
- OST Idea: 'Enlightened Lancers', referring to Baldur's status as a Lumen Sage to contrast Lancer of Black's title and how both wield lances
