Ayane vs. Yang Xiao Long is the 42nd episode of DEATH BATTLE! by Shadow7615, featuring Ayane from the Dead or Alive series and Yang Xiao Long from the RWBY series in a battle between martial artist half-sisters.

Interlude[]

Wiz: As the old saying goes, blood is thicker than water. And familial bonds can sometimes be all the motivation one needs.

Boomstick: And if you've got someone in your family who can throw a good punch, you're in good hands. Trust me.

Wiz: Ayane, the Killer Kunoichi.

Boomstick: And Yang Xiao Long, the Adventurous Huntress. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick!

Wiz: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills, to find out who would win... a Death Battle

Ayane[]

Wiz: The Mugen Tenshin clan were a prominent group of shinobi that lived up in the mountains of Japan, the clan's leader had two children who would each one day lead the clan, Hayate and Kasumi.

Boomstick: But then the leader's brother, Raidou, decided he wanted to knock up his bro's wife, which is all kinds of messed up. And so a third child came along.

Wiz: This is how Ayane was born into the world. And for most of her childhood, Ayane was an outcast. She wasn't even raised by her birth mother, Ayame. Instead, she was raised by Genra, who lead a different sect in the clan.

Boomstick: Young Ayane grew up unaware of the circumstances of her birth. And although she met Hayate and especially Kasumi, Ayane never could've guessed they were her blood relatives. And I thought missing just a dad was tough.

Wiz: Despite this, once Ayane was at a suitable age, she was trained to become a kunoichi of the shadows. But as she learned the truth of her conception, Ayane was overwhelmed with anger for being an outcast. This became the catalyst for Ayane to push herself to become something great. Though she developed a detached, cynical outlook.

Boomstick: Ayane felt pretty salty that Kasumi had been treated like a princess, and she was given the short end of the stick. So the relationship between the half-sisters declined well into their adolescence. Things stayed that way for a while, but then everything changed when Raidou came back.

Wiz: Despite confronting her father, Ayane was soundly defeated. After Kasumi left the clan to get vengeance, Ayane was ordered to murder her, to keep their clan a secret. Strangely enough, Ayane's orders would ultimately land her a spot in the Dead or Alive Tournament. She got pretty far but was defeated by Kasumi, who went on to kill Raidou.

Boomstick: From that day on, Ayane would strive to improve to the best of her ability, doing all she could to strengthen her resume. She's got your standard kunoichi loadouts, like short swords, exploding kunai, regular kunai, and straight-up teleportation.

Wiz: Speaking of which, through her training, Ayane gained the ability to harness and manipulate magical energy to perform powerful Ninpo techniques. Being able to perform the aforementioned teleportation, she can also utilize Ninpo to heal her wounds. But like all good shinobi, Ayane can use a powerful offensive technique.

Boomstick: While Ayane hasn't shown herself capable of using the famous Torn Sky Blast that Hayate, Kasumi, Raidou and Ryu Hayabusa have demonstrated, Ayane possesses a powerful Ninpo technique all her own. Art of the Raging Mountain God! Man, I'm so taking that one. This technique is so powerful Ayane used it to destroy part of the DOATEC Tritower, she destroyed the complex's middle floors, they didn't even stand a chance

Wiz: Using the aura of all creation, Ayane punches the ground with intense shockwaves and violet flames. Normally the technique is a risk to its user, but Ayane has gained astute control of the technique. So it's certainly comparable to the Torn Sky Blast. And that's not all, she can utilize a second, albeit less destructive ninpo attack, which launches a ball of Ninpo energy at near point-blank range.

Boomstick: Ayane also has the trademark "Ninja Sense", which gives her a sense of direction and anticipates danger. And she's got the ninja skills you'd come to expect. Wall running, dashing in midair, counter attacks and more. Ayane's skill also landed her requests to aid the Ultimate Dragon Ninja, Ryu Hayabusa.

Wiz: With her respect for such an accomplished ninja, she did her part, impressing Hayabusa with her skill. Ayane's speed is her greatest asset, and she's got comparable speeds to the likes of Hayabusa, and he is fast to dodge automatic fire and missiles from jet crafts and helicopters.

Boomstick: Hayabusa has also dodged lightning bolts! Three separate times! The slowest of these comes out to just under Mach 150, and the fastest is Mach 1015! And since Ayane is considered the fastest character in the Ninja Gaiden games, she should be capable of these speeds too.

Wiz: With all these skills, its no wonder Hayabusa saw Ayane as a core ally. Ayane was entrusted with important missions critical to Hayabusa's journey. She was the one who ultimately delivered the Eye of the Dragon to Hayabusa. Which allowed him to unlock the full power of his Dragon Sword.

Boomstick: Becoming the divine blade of ultimate power, aka the True Dragon Sword. And you gotta be a pretty important person to deliver something like that. And it shows, Ayane succeeded her adoptive father Genra as the leader of the Hajimon sect. Won the third Dead or Alive tournament, and destroyed that large building I mentioned before, and almost all of this happened when she was 16!

Wiz: Ayane has several victories on her hands, besting the likes of Hayate, Eliot, Obaba, and has a couple joined victories alongside fellow shinobi, defeating Alpha-152, Omega Genra, and even a resurrected Raidou. Ayane also has great adaptability. even when she would seem compromised, she can adapt as quickly as a situation develops.

Boomstick: So get this right, Ayane was in Paris one day, trying to relax with a nice massage. All of a sudden some terrorists kicked in her door. And despite being outnumbered and outgunned, and lacking in the clothes department, Ayane got fully dressed and back to killing those terrorists in 15 seconds flat!

Wiz: Ayane is one of the few combatants to have participated in all six Dead or Alive tournaments thus far, and she's also a skilled volleyball player, largely thanks in part to her numerous vacations to Zack's Island. But for all these skills and feats, Ayane is not a perfect kunoichi.

Boomstick: Yeah, she's been defeated several times, Kasumi herself has bested Ayane on at least two occasions. Ayane also had a base case of the brainwashing, twice. She also has limited Ninpo, so she can't spam it forever. And while Art of the Raging Mountain God is destructive, meditation and focus are needed.

Wiz: Ayane is also a strong applicant of speed over strength. Large and powerful foes can work against Ayane's strengths, and although Ayane had bitter feelings toward Kasumi, the two were able to repair their relationship, allowing Ayane to continue pursuing her goals of one day being the greatest shinobi in her clan.

Ayane: I will overcome my past!

Yang[]

Boomstick: Remnant, the most gun-filled place on Earth, was constantly under threat by monsters called Grimm. To combat these things, many Hunters and Huntresses worked together to bring them down. And once the peacetime had come, two of these hunters decided to have a kid, who would one day become a huntress herself.

Wiz: This is Yang Xiao Long. As the child of two famed hunters from Team STRQ, Yang was practically destined to be a renowned huntress herself. But Yang's early life was anything but ideal. Her mother mysteriously disappeared, and her father remarried. Soon Yang had a younger half-sister, Ruby Rose.

Boomstick: But things took a sad turn when Ruby's mum died. With a Dad who was pretty upset, Yang learned the truth that her mum wasn't who she thought she was, and that her actual mum abandoned them. Which really has to suck, and I know how that feels.

Wiz: Motivated to get what answers she could, Yang followed any clues she found, desperate to find anything she could get her hands on, but that fateful day was Yang's first taste of the dangerous world out there. Yang and Ruby were almost killed by Grimm until their uncle Qrow intervened and saved their lives.

Boomstick: Having learned an important lesson, Yang vowed to help raise Ruby, whilst also continuing her parental answers quest, but not letting it consume her. And so over the next decade and a bit, Yang learned what she could from her father and uncle at Signal Academy, before being accepted into Beacon Academy.

Wiz: This is where many generations of Huntsmen and Huntresses were expertly trained to slay Grimm. Yang was accepted at 17 years old, literally putting the Y in Team RWBY. Within a single year, Yang became an accomplished huntress, defending Beacon from Grimm, besting the White Fang and displaying her skill during the Vytal Festival.

Boomstick: Thanks in large part to two pretty important things. First, there's Aura, the physical manifestation of a Huntsmen's soul. It can protect its user from deadly blows and can heal minor wounds automatically. It's basically invisible, so you can't tell at first glance.

Wiz: A person's aura has a couple of applications, defensive protection, offensive capability, the aforementioned healing, and even enhanced senses. It also helps against the cold weather. And although it has its limits, it is still a vital component to a Huntsman's skills.

Boomstick: And the second thing is the Semblance. Abilities that people can harness, it's even believed one's Aura is the early stages of their Semblance, and then the Semblance takes on a tangible form that the user can apply. And for Yang, her Semblance is called "Burn". It allows her to absorb the energy from the damage she takes.

Wiz: And with that energy, Yang can redirect it twice as hard at her opponent, making her stronger each time she takes a hit. It also changes her eyes from lilac to red. Additionally, Yang's Semblance draws power from her hair. Yang, fortunately, doesn't have to unleash her stored energy immediately, she can hold onto it for as long as she needs.

Boomstick: And Yang applies her damage in the best way possible, with her badass weapon, the Ember Celica. These badass shotgun gauntlets let Yang shoot pulses of raw kinetic energy at her foes. Each has 12 rounds, for 24 in total, and she has extra ammunition if she runs out. And if Yang is feeling confident, she can propel herself into the air using her shots.

Wiz: Yang has two types of ammunition, orange shells are better suited for up-close blasts. And the red shells fire longer-range projectiles that explode upon contact. These red shells, in particular, have reached several hundred feet distances when fired.

Boomstick: And for a while, it felt like Yang was on top of the world, but everything would change during the Battle of Beacon. Where she would lose more than she could've ever imagined. In a fit of rage, Yang attempted to stop Adam Taurus from killing Blake, so instead, Adam manipulated Yang's rage, and cut her arm off.

Wiz: Although Yang survived the Battle of Beacon, she suffered Post-traumatic stress disorder. And the deaths of students she valued friends sent Yang spiralling into a reclusive depression. Team RWBY was scattered across Remnant. It seemed like Yang wouldn't rebound. But when learning Ruby had left to pursue answers, Yang finally stepped back into the light.

Boomstick: To help Yang get back into the fight, she was given a robotic arm. And this robotic arm replaces the Ember Celica she lost in the battle. It has most of the same features, including a shotgun function. The gun is retractable, so she can keep it hidden. And for a surprise attack, she can launch her arm like a projectile.

Wiz: With a renewed spirit, Yang travelled to Mistral to reunite with Ruby, Weiss, and Blake, unifying Team RWBY again. And from there, they strived to stop the forces of Salem and her grand ambitions. With all this, Yang has accomplished many notable feats.

Boomstick: Of all her battles she's been in, whether on her own or with others, she's claimed 17 victories, and at least 6 of them were on her own. With assistance from Blake, Yang shattered the Atlesian Paladin-290 prototype in a single punch after having taken only two hits from it.

Wiz: She's fast enough to achieve Hypersonic speeds when running down a bridge, she can dodge bullets, and has speeds comparable to her fellow huntresses. Blake was able to dodge the lightning breath of the Grimm Sea Dragon, we can estimate Blake speeds to be around Mach 11.

Boomstick: And Yang's one tough cookie, she can survive being punched through concrete pillars, withstand drops great enough to reach terminal velocity, and withstood attacks from foes like Mercury Black, who could make pretty strong projectile blasts.

Wiz: But Yang does still have downsides. Yang's Aura has clearly defined limits, and Aura will deplete throughout a battle. If she's not careful, her foes could hit her with more damage than her Aura can protect. Yang's Semblance, while increasing her offence, doesn't boost her defence, so she will always take all the damage. And if Yang's Aura runs out, her Semblance stops working.

Boomstick: But despite her weaknesses, she did ultimately achieve her goals, she hunted down Adam, she and Blake then doubled teamed him to death... spoilers. And she found her mum Raven, and although they haven't sorted things out yet, let's hope it works out.

Yang: I'm fine. We're gonna be fine. It's just gonna be a bit before things are back to normal. But... I am glad we're all back together.

DEATH BATTLE![]

The metropolitan city was a home for all kinds of people, though, for some, it was the chance to experience the nightlife. It attracted many people, and for many, many hours into the night. As the sunset, coating the city in a blanket of darkness, the city lights flicked on. With the means to attract the people, the good times were ahead. All the services one could expect were available. Dining, entertainment, and plenty of social interactions. And for that, everyone turned to the nightclubs, certainly a location for the curious and seekers of a good time.

With the night bringing out more and more people, it also attracted people who wanted to conduct themselves in a manner where their activity is hidden in plain sight. Some people dressed in formal attire exited from vehicles parked next to the entrance of this particular night club. Wearing black sunglasses, these people moved as a group, it did get some looks from the nightclub goers, but the formality didn't arouse any suspicions. But the night is still young. Everyone present just decided to cut loose and enjoy the long night ahead.

Naturally, in a sprawling city, there were plenty of people in various means of transportation. Trams and their many stops in each major city block, roads that had many types of vehicles, cars, limousines and so on. Though now and then, you might spot more unique transport. Such as a sports motorcycle, and from the distance, the sound of one could be heard.

As the sound increased in volume, the motorcycle was approaching. In just a few seconds, the motorcycle, and its rider arrived. Pulling into the designated parking area, the motor within turned off, and its rider disembarked from the sports motorcycle. Despite the lack of a kickstand, the motorcycle remained completely balanced, upright without its weighing to either side.

Taking the keys along with them, the rider stored them away in a pocket as they treaded toward the footpath, under the veil of black that was aviator shades, the rider made their way toward the night club. As they approached the entrance, a man dressed in black stepped in front of the rider This was likely a bouncer for the nightclub. Naturally, this was a precaution to prevent the underage from entering, but the rider retrieved a small but significant object, displaying it for the man to see.

The text was entirely legible, and it was all that he needed. Stepping aside, the front entrance opened on command, from there, the bouncer gestured his right arm, inviting the rider to enter. Storing the object back in its proper place, the rider entered the nightclub. As the brief coat of darkness between the entrance and the nightclub passed the rider by, visual clarity was restored as the flashing lights of the dancefloor, overhead lights and numerous others illuminated the room.

Removing the aviator shades, the rider makes a brief but observant look around the entire nightclub, looking to see if they could locate anyone of interest, although the rider was soon distracted by the bar. Many fine alcoholic beverages were sold here, and the rider decided to acquire one such beverage of their own. Approaching the bar counter, one of the bartenders greeted the rider.

"One Strawberry Sunrise, no ice.", with the request provided, the bartender excused themselves to go and fetch the required ingredients needed to make the beverage. Without a doubt, the rider was Yang Xiao Long. Yang waited patiently for her drink of choice when she was being approached a group of men. Yang kept facing forward but could sense the presence of multiple individuals behind her. She was moments from getting up and attacking all her would-be assailants, but the bartender returned, asking for payment on her drink.

This came with the territory, and so Yang slid a card to the bartender, who scanned it on the card-reading device that displayed the price. After just a couple of seconds, the device's screen indicated a successful transaction. Returning Yang's card to her, the bartender retrieved the device, storing it away. And with gentle precision, Yang was handed the Strawberry Sunrise, without ice. Satisfied with what she'd received, Yang pulled the drink closer to herself. Despite knowing she was surrounded, no one made any moves.

At that moment, Yang sensed one person was stepping forward, albeit at a normal pace. The person pulled up to the seat next to Yang. She looked to her left and saw it was one of the men dressed in black, and he was holding some kind of documentation. "You said you were looking for leads? Well, Junior was able to find something, but couldn't come here himself." the documents were then placed on the bar and were gently passed over to Yang, who took hold of the sealed documents. She didn't need to open them to conclude these were relating to Raven.

"Thank you", Yang responded. As she held the documents, such thoughts dwelled on her mother. Seeing that Yang was content, the man rose from the bar chair and rejoined the rest of the men. Yang broke the seal and opened it, revealing the documentation within, most of it was a standard biography of Raven Branwen. But as Yang looked into more and more of the content of the documents, she reads that there have been reports of a woman matching Raven's description in faraway places.

As the group of men were departing, they suddenly stopped in their tracks. Yang continued reading into the contents, when she heard the sound of bodies falling to the ground, and people suddenly evacuating the premises. After just a few seconds, the nightclub was empty, except for two. Yang turned around to see a woman with a hood over her head, she was wearing grey tights and black knee-high boots. The outfit was mostly white, black and purple.

All around this woman were the bodies belonging to that group of men. There wasn't any blood, so it's unlikely they are dead. But with no opposition, the woman started walking away. Though Yang had other ideas in mind, Yang raised her right arm and aimed right for the woman's head. Launching a shot from her shotgun arm. The woman reacted to and evaded the explosive round altogether. Admittedly a bit surprised by her opponent's speed, Yang got off her seat and slowly approached the woman.

Turning around, the woman revealed her face underneath the black hood, sporting purple hair, and red eyes. Ayane was looking for where the explosive round had been fired. But soon concluded the only likely source had to be the blonde woman standing a few meters from her. "This is your last chance to run away", Ayane warned Yang. "I'm not like you, I won't run." Yang quickly turned things back on Ayane. Despite wanting to leave this place, she had no choice.

Knowing a showdown was about to take place, Ayane assumed her fighting stance, knees bent and arms raised forward at her elbows. Yang stepped forward a few feet, stretching both her normal and mechanical arms, she raised them and clenched her fists, finally battle-ready.

FIGHT!

(Cue Neo Tokyo - Perturbator)

Now closer to her opponent, Yang activated Ember Celica on her left arm and using her arm in a punching motion. But before Yang fired the explosive round, she felt a direct punch strike her gut. Without realizing it, Ayane had closed the distance before she could even launch an explosive round. Stunned by this, Yang went for another punch, with her mechanical arm this time, but Ayane misdirected the punch and the explosive round missed its target.

Hearing the sound of the explosive round from Yang's arm, it clicked in Ayane's head, "It is coming from her arm" she noted in her mind. Ayane now realized close-range combat was risky. Yang during this time had become a little stunned both her attacks were met in such a short time. She desperately tried to break herself free. Yang lifted her legs and used both to perform a dropkick. Directly striking Ayane on the torso. The kunoichi stepped back, releasing Yang's arms granting her free movement.

Without time to waste, Yang motioned her arms backward, reloading Ember Celica. Seeing Ayane just a short distance in front of her, Yang aimed Ember Celica right at her head, firing the explosive round. While the explosive round had been freed from the chamber, it soared across the nightclub, ultimately to no avail. Yang swore she saw Ayane in front of her, but she wasn't. Suddenly, Yang felt a thin strike cut across her left cheek. She inspected the wound to see it had indeed drawn blood. This triggered the activation of Yang's Aura, the wound healed almost instantaneously.

Despite the wound, Yang wondered just what could have struck her, and how she didn't notice. But now that her Aura was active, her senses were enhanced. She surveyed the nightclub around her, looking for any sign of Ayane. After only a brief search, Yang spotted Ayane, who situated herself atop some of the nights that overlooked the main dance floor. Seeing that she was too far away to effectively use the long-range explosive rounds, Yang sprinted toward the dance floor.

Observing her opponent, it took Ayane mere moments to realize she had been spotted, looking to avoid such entanglement, Ayane moved along the metal beams that supported the overhead lights, maneuvering around and over them with exceptional balance. The movement did catch Yang's eye, but she knew that if Ayane was to successfully get out of sight, it would only be problematic later.

Aiming her Ember Celica at the ground beneath her, Yang jumped into the air. During her ascent, she fired an explosive round directly at the ground beneath her, the recoil of the explosive round further launched Yang skyward. She saw that she was within arms reach of the metal beam. But she needed to land on it, not grab it. So she fired a second explosive round from her opposing arm, giving her a sustained ascent. With this, she was able to land on the metal beams.

"Do you plan on running forever?" Yang protested, seeing all that Ayane had done was hit and run. Before she could jump off the metal beams, Ayane heard another explosive round and weaved her head out of the way, seeing it pass right by her, and putting a hole in the wall a few meters from them. Seeing the point in running was becoming futile, Ayane turned to Yang. The two girls were now meters apart, both standing on the same metal beam that required them to maintain balance.

With her decision made, Ayane started carefully moving along the beams to reach Yang. Surprised by her opponent's complete reversal, and with the distance between them becoming closer, Yang aimed with Ember Celica, firing an explosive round. Being able to react in time, Ayane suddenly vanished as pink flower petals took form where Ayane once stood. Yang stopped herself, she looked on the ground below, desperate to locate her foe. "Don't make me laugh", a voice was heard from behind Yang. The Huntress turned and rammed her fist forward as fast as she could.

Believing she had landed a successful blow, Yang instead only looked to see Ayane had caught her fist. But before Yang could follow up, Ayane unleashed a kick from the side, striking Yang's head directly. With her balance now lost, Yang was vulnerable. Ayane took the opportunity and delivered a punch to Yang's torso, returning the favour. The punch sends Yang careening from the metal beam down to the dancefloor.

Impacting on the ground, Yang was momentarily disoriented. As Yang came back to her senses, she had only fractions of time to act. Yang looked to the ceiling above her and saw the lights that shone down onto the dancefloor, they almost obscured her vision with overwhelming light, but Yang still had some clarity. But just as she saw the lights, she saw something descend from on high. Yang couldn't make it out, a jolting pain struck Yang on her torso.

It was Ayane, who used her momentum to land on Yang, directly impacting on her. Yang was still okay, only now was it time to move. Ayane jumped off Yang and landed on the dancefloor. She watched carefully as Yang rose back onto her feet. The two analyzed each other for a short while. The dancefloor beneath them was flashing many colours, primarily white. Both had a keen eye on the other, their enhanced senses alerting them to any potential surprise attacks.

Keeping her eye on Ayane, Yang remained vigilant. Ayane made her move, rushing up to Yang. Able to keep up with her, but despite that, the speed of her combat was something much, much faster. And Yang received a punch to the face as a result. Ayane followed up by spinning her body and hitting Yang with her right hand. Maintaining this momentum as best she could, Ayane turned her attack in a string of attacks in rapid succession. Ayane spun in the opposite direction and swung her left arm toward Yang's torso.

Caught up in her opponent's attacks, Yang simply couldn't counter the sheer speed of these attacks, they were faster than anyone she's ever fought before. Yang staggered, and this was the opportune moment for Ayane to add more to her series of attacks. She spun herself again, but this time extending her leg out to duck under Yang's arms. With her left leg, that was still on the ground, Ayane, kicked upward.

The force of the kick was enough to launch Yang into the air. As Ayane completed her kick, she was in the air, and within reach of Yang. Deciding this would be a good chance to strike as well, Ayane performed a somersault in midair, but with her right leg out. Her leg directly struck on her back. And the force of kick sent Yang flipping in the air. The two girls hit the ground at the same time, Ayane landing on her feet, as Yang hit the ground back first. Yang first didn't know what to make for all that, a lot was going on in just a few seconds.

Climbing back onto her feet, Yang breathed in and out, gently bobbing up and down. Despite the damage she received, she was still feeling energized, she may have even been moving in time with the music playing on the dancefloor's speakers. Yang assumed her same fighting stance, as she watched Ayane. Ayane slowly made her way toward Yang, and Yang did the same, but as Yang approached, she held her arms behind her and fired two explosive rounds, once from each arm. The force of them both recoiled Yang forward, propelling her directly toward Ayane.

Completely unexpecting a sudden boost in speed, Ayane received a punch in the face from Yang's robot arm, Yang's Semblance kicked in, adding the damage she took. With the extra force behind her punch, Yang launched Ayane across the nightclub. Ayane nearly hit a wall, but she was able to touch the ground and slow her momentum before impacting on any vertical surfaces. With a sizable distance between them now, Yang sprinted along to catch up to Ayane before she could take any countermeasures against her.

(Cue Gimmie the Bass - ATB & Darude)

The music in the nightclub changed since the song playing had come to an end. This momentarily distracted both the girls, Yang thought she might've heard this song somewhere before, but she couldn't tell for certain. Despite the music change, the nightclub was empty, there wasn't anyone around to stop the songs. Without it bothering either Ayane or Yang, the two girls were getting closer to each other, ready to resume the encounter. Seeing her opponent approaching, Yang launched another explosive round, but Ayane effortlessly reacted to and evaded the explosive round.

Using her evasion as leverage, Ayane leapt into the air. Yang watched carefully, seeing what Ayane was going to do. Reaching to parts of her attire, Ayane retrieved a pair of kunai and tossed them toward Yang. The twin kunai raced across to Yang in seconds, able to locate at least one of the kunai. Raising her mechanical arm, Yang blocked one of the kunai. The kunai in question deflected off Yang's mechanical arm, dropping to the ground beneath Yang's feet.

But just as Yang lowered her arm, another kunai cut Yang's cheek, leaving a think cut mark. And some strands of Yang's hair were also severed. But before Yang could notice, Ayane used this time to get right up close to Yang and deliver a thrusting palm strike to Yang's head. Knocked back by the speed behind the strike, Ayane took the chance to follow up, spinning herself around, she struck with her opposite hand. Ducking to avoid Yang's fists, Ayane maneuvered herself, striking Yang's torso with her palm.

With her back to Yang, Ayane spun herself back to face Yang, delivered a jab to the stomach, completing her combo. Fortunately for Yang, she did not lose balance, and in moments she swiftly recovered. Looking for additional chances to strike, Yang fired another explosive round from Ember Celica. But it was easily evaded, but this is what Yang had wanted Ayane to do. Now with Ayane in a state of evasion, Yang rushed forward and went for a punch once again. But Ayane was able to not only land but intercept Yang's punch.

As she leaned to avoid Yang's punch, Ayane activated her teleportation. Taking Yang off guard once again. As a result, Yang overextended and leaving her built-up energy unable to be distributed to her foe. Ayane reappeared behind Yang in just a second, where she landed a palm strike on Yang's back, knocking her forward "I can read you like a book." Ayane almost mocking Yang outright. But the Huntress turned around, seeing Ayane standing there. Yang was beginning to become a little peeved by Ayane's words.

The emotion within Yang began to swell up, boiling and rising to the surface, Yang looked Ayane directly in the eyes. Her irises slowly shifted their colour, Yang's normal lilac changed hue. From lilac to crimson. Yang stared her crimson eyes into Ayane's own crimson eyes. Ayane was alarmed and almost panicked just by how thought-provoking red eyes were. Ayane recalled the father that was dead to her, and how he possessed dark red eyes. But Ayane didn't let her guard down, nevertheless, Yang rushed in, her anger bringing her full might to the forefront.

Delivering a series of rapid-fire punches in quick succession, Yang used her emotionally charged strength to bombard Ayane with punch after punch, but these punches were met with swift evasion with Ayane who took an opportunity to land another palm strike on Yang. Like a twig being snapped in two, Yang's rage reached a greater plateau, and she delivered a heavy kick to Ayane's waist. Not having expected a kick, given her observation of Yang's mostly fist oriented style, Ayane skid along the ground, being sent back several meters.

Taking an opportunity to look at Yang in this new state, it looked as though Yang's hair was on fire. Regardless of such, Yang carried a stern, firm look on her face, one of anger. And she was headed right for her. Instead of running at Yang head-on, Ayane decided to run around her instead. Yang noticed this and primed her explosive rounds, ready for use. As Ayane followed around Yang in a circle, Yang was able to deduce where she was going to be. But Yang figured if she fired where Ayane was going, she'd only be hitting after Ayane, and not directly. So instead Yang raised her two arms out, akin to a "T" shaped pose. With her weapons at the ready, Yang spun herself around, and with her arms outward, she fired as many explosive rounds from her ammunition chambers as she could.

Seeing what Yang was going for, Ayane reacted in time to perform interesting and careful maneuvers to avoid Yang's many explosive rounds. After a few seconds of this, Ayane landed back on her feet. Yang looked toward Ayane, who stood a few meters away. She looked unfazed by the bombardment of explosive rounds, while they weren't projectiles, they were still dangerous pulses of explosive potential. Fortunately, Ayane hadn't sustained any wounds, but Yang certainly didn't make it easy. The two girls looked around them, seeing that nothing was damaged. With that in mind, the two girls looked at one another yet again.

Having reached a point where she was no longer angry, Yang blinked her eyes naturally, and the crimson irises slowly reverted to Yang's native lilac irises. Ayane noticed the change, and also realized Yang was no longer angry, being pretty calm at the moment. Now interested to see where the fight would go, Ayane once again assumed her fighting stance, "Let's see how strong you are." Ayane issuing an honest challenge, she had acknowledged Yang possessed incredible strength, and now she truly desired to see that strength to the fullest.

Processing what Ayane had to say, Yang held Ember Celica down at the ground, and the empty shells ejected from the gauntlet. Yang then reached into her pocket and pulled out a set of twelve additional explosive rounds, throwing them up into the air. Ayane watched the new shells of ammunition in the air. As gravity's pull sent the ammunition back down to the ground, Yang raised her left arm into the air, where she was able to precisely catch the ammunition in her empty gauntlet chamber. The ammunition fitted in perfectly as Ember Celica automatically closed up the ammunition chamber.

"Impressive." Ayane commenting on Yang's crafty maneuver. "Oh, thanks!" Yang responded. Now that she was pumped up, Yang rushed forward, and fired the projectile ammunition from Ember Celica, unlike her previous explosive rounds, these were now solid projectiles that were physically launching from the gauntlet. These were certainly akin to bullets in how they operated. With these incoming projectiles headed her way, evasion was needed. With the projectiles themselves being not only visible but emitting light, Ayane reacted in time to dodge out of the way. With the projectile missing its target, it reached the wall behind Ayane, whereupon contact with the wall, the projectile exploded.

Not anticipating such an explosion, the area of effect was enough for Ayane to be caught in, and she was swept off her feet as a result, hurdling forward toward Yang, who lifted a confident smile. The surprise factor was able to give her the upper hand. And with that secured, Yang proceeded to make good use of her advantage. Moving forward, Yang hurried to meet Ayane in the middle, who was still under the recoil of the explosion. Yang delivered a solid punch with her mechanical arm. Its strength was so close to halting Ayane's momentum, but Yang handled the development well. As the explosion died down, Yang finally won out and using her punch, send Ayane right back into the wall that just recently took an explosion.

Impacting the wall, Ayane felt disoriented for a brief moment, but her senses rung in her head, alerting her of the danger about to hit her. As Ayane opened her eyes, she saw Yang just feet away with her mechanical arm positioned to strike directly at her head. With the attack successfully anticipated, Ayane dropped her head as fast as she could. She achieved this with enough time to see Yang's fist firmly strike the wall, forming several cracks that extruded from the direct impact of Yang's fist. An opportunity presented itself for Ayane. She struck Yang on the stomach, though this did not have much of an impact.

Seeing that her opponent was still able to dodge her attacks, Yang took Ayane's strike, but since it was not a heavy strike, Yang recovered almost immediately. With a chance to do more damage, Yang grabbed Ayane's right arm, and without waiting for a second longer, Yang pulls Ayane's arm over her head, Yang spun herself as she did this, putting her behind Ayane, whose body had been twisted and spun at Yang's mercy. Yang pulled on Ayane's arm further, forcing her to go in the direction Yang intended. With the momentum being built up with Yang's pulling, Ayane couldn't do anything.

Now bending her opponent to her will, Yang pulled Ayane to her side, at that moment Yang released her grip on her foe's arm, that momentum built up sent Ayane stumbling forward, Yang's momentum allowed her to set up a devastating move. Moments before Ayane recovered, Yang jumped off her feet, but with the momentum backing her up, Yang spun in the air. And extending her right leg at just the right arm, Ayane's forward momentum collided with Yang's momentum channelled into her jump-kick, with a solid kick straight to Ayane's face, she hit the ground abruptly. The hood that concealed most of Ayane's head finally came off, revealing the straight purple hair.

A clear picture of her foe had been painted, but as Ayane was recovering, her being laid on the ground was met with Yang standing over her, Ember Celica pointed right at her head. "I'll crush you into dust!" Knowing just what kind of power rested within that gauntlet, Ayane knew she had only the option of escape, pulling the trigger would end the whole fight right here and now. Harnessing her Ninpo, Ayane vanished from sight, leaving floral petals in her wake. Standing upright, Yang watched her surroundings for Ayane. Thanks to her Aura, Yang's senses were enhanced, and she heard some footsteps. Following this information, Yang fired another projectile in the area she believed to have detected that sound.

Her deductions would be rewarded, as the projectile flew across the nightclub, Ayane rushed out from her hiding place, fortunately, she was able to avoid the explosion's radius this time, as Ayane ran across the nightclub, Yang reloaded Ember Celica, and her eyes once again turned crimson. She unleashes a series of her explosive projectiles, all trying to follow Ayane, but each of them fails to land a hit. Instead, the surfaces and walls receive explosion after explosion, and soon entire chunks of the wall begin collapsing, some of it breaking apart upon hitting the ground.

Not wanting to waste all of her remaining rounds, Yang stopped firing. But that's all Ayane needed to approach, Ayane grabbed two kunai from her back and tossed them at Yang. As they approached, Yang naturally raised her guard. But the kunai themselves exploded as they got close to her. Taken by surprise, Yang looked at her surroundings, trying to locate Ayane, but her vision was clouded. Yang's senses detected something behind her, and Yang turned to deliver a punch, but she was stopped when Ayane grabbed her arm.

With a firm grip, Ayane held onto Yang's arm as she performed a somersault. Maintaining her grip and building momentum, once Ayane landed on the ground, she redirected the momentum, tossing Yang into the air, and promptly bringing her back down to earth, hitting the ground. Yang looked up to see Ayane standing there. And desperately launched another of her explosive projectiles. But Ayane teleported before it could reach her. The projectile aimed higher, and exploded upon contact with the wall at almost its highest point, collapsing most of the wall itself.

Rising back to her feet, Yang saw the wall on the other side of the nightclub becoming more and more fragile and would likely collapse on itself in a given amount of time. Looking around for Ayane, Yang intently kept focus, trying to locate her. She heard the sound of a footstep stepping on something with a rough surface, Yang fired in that direction, pulling Ayane out of hiding yet again. But this time Ayane was much closer and didn't need to use explosive kunai. Instead, Ayane closed the distance by approaching with a karate chop to Yang's face.

Temporarily stunning Yang, Ayane utilized her excellent combat speed and spun around, channelling her purple Ninpo energy into both her hands. She then completed a full three-hundred and sixty-degree rotation by hitting Yang in the head with her two Ninpo enhanced hands. But she wasn't finished yet, with her speed practically unchallenged, Ayane did another complete spin, only this time, the Ninpo on Ayane's hands had started to form white sharp extruded edges, which resembled daggers. Ayane, using these to her advantage, struck Yang with both hands at the same time. Yang staggered as Ayane spun again for another two rotations.

At this point, Yang dropped to one knee, unable to entirely process the sheer amount of speed and momentum Ayane was building into her attacks. Ayane, however, hadn't finished attacking just yet. With the Ninpo based blades formed on Ayane's hands, she performed a cross-cut on Yang, her palms slashing Yang. But Yang still maintained her balance. Ayane dismantled the Ninpo in her hands, reverting back to the basics. But she planned to make the next hit count.

Before Yang could stand stably, Ayane leapt forward and positioned herself straight, like a missile. Her legs reached Yang, at this same time, purple and white trails of energy surrounded Ayane as she executed her attack. The momentum finally died down as Yang once again hit the ground, Ayane gracefully landed on the ground. But all this damage wasn't being dismissed. As she laid on the ground, Yang's eyes opened, the crimson red hue was still active, and Yang's hair emitted a strong heat glow. With her anger once again coming up to the surface. Ayane approached Yang, looking to make a decisive strike. Ayane came within feet of Yang.

And now Yang hatched her plan. Recalling she still had a couple of rounds left in her ammunition chamber, Yang, boosted by her rage, shot the projectile at Ayane, at near point-blank range. Ayane became aware of the projectile within enough time to initiate evasion, but as Ayane moved her body to avoid it, she did exactly what Yang wanted her to do. While Ayane avoided the projectile, suddenly she was propelled forward by the weight of an explosion taking place right behind her. Yang smirked, having goaded Ayane into dodging, only for her to be as close to one of these epicentres as she could.

With the explosion's sheer force launching her forward, Ayane impacted against a concrete pillar. The force of her impact caused the pillar to visibly crack. Ayane then noticed something red enter her sight, she gazed down upon her hand and recognized her blood was stained upon it. She looked on her body, trying to find the source of her spilled blood, but soon realized it wasn't on her limbs or torso, blood spilled from her head.

Meanwhile, Yang was slowly getting back onto her feet. Using some of the nearby rubble as elevation support. It took her a little while, but Yang managed to do it. She looked at Ayane, whose hands glowed with bright light. In just seconds, Ayane's wound healed, and the blood became dry. Ayane then looked and noticed Yang approaching. With the two locking eyes, Yang shifted from walking to running. Seeing this, Ayane used her teleportation. But upon completing her teleportation, Ayane had moved just a couple of meters to the side.

Locating her opponent rather easily, Yang ran after her, launching another explosive projectile. But before it could touch Ayane, she vanished again with teleportation. The projectile flew across the room and created an explosion that finally collapsed the entire wall. But this distracted Yang, and with her teleportation bringing her close to Yang, Ayane immediately put that to good use. She spun herself around, and did so again, extending her right leg. Hitting Yang on the waist, this was undoubtedly the single strongest blow thus far.

Wasting no time at all, Ayane stood upright and held her hands close together, with her middle and index fingers on both hands remaining straight. Just in front of her hands, Ninpo energy gathered into a purple sphere. "Dato Ban On Basarada Tou! Nam!" Ayane shouted. She stretched her arms forward, and the near point range projectile struck Yang directly, launching her back several meters and leaving her on the ground. Knowing that Yang would just get back up and make another attempt to attack, Ayane realized the only way to end this was to use the strongest attack she could.

Closing her eyes, Ayane began reciting a modified Buddhist mantra. Concentrating her meditation and focus as astutely as she could. Performing several arm motions, Ayane's body began extruding purple flame-like energy around her body, additionally, what appeared to be letters of a certain language manifested as yellow forms of energy. As she completed her arm movements, the letters formed of yellow energy dissolved and became scattered yellow energy that also formed around Ayane's purple flaming energy.

Yang rose to her feet to see Ayane was just standing there, looking like she was meditating. Yang couldn't help but feel this was just too easy. Yang carefully aimed with Ember Celica, targetting Ayane's head. Her crimson eyes still in effect, Yang briefly shut one of her eyes to allow her line of sight to focus the aim. Finding her ideal projectile trajectory, Yang motioned her fist forward to attack. But nothing happened. She promptly realized she was out of ammunition, and considering she could land a punch and do more damage rather than reload projectiles that could miss easily, Yang pulled herself to her feet quickly, mustering what speed she had.

Running at Ayane as fast as her legs would allow, Yang clenched her fist. Knowing that a punch in this state would be devastating. Yang ascended a brief two-step set of stairs where she finally had the chance to rush at Ayane directly. With the distance between the two decreasing, Ayane opened her eyes and raised her right hand into the sky, bright purple energy spread out across the room, which Yang noticed. Figuring Ayane was going to punch her, Yang kept going, just feet from Ayane. Purple flaming energy enveloped Ayane's fist. But instead of aiming her punch at Yang, Ayane drove her fist directly to the ground beneath her.

As her fist slammed into the ground, violent shockwaves of purple flames erupted outward. Yang was caught in the destructive output. The shockwaves continued to cover more and more ground, the damage was simply too great. The music stopped, the lights all went out, and the entire building itself was completely destroyed. Purple flames then lifted up into the night sky, leaving behind the remains of the nightclub.

Laying dazed in the rubble of the blast, Yang pulled herself up, her eyes reverting back to her natural lilac. Her Aura flickered before depleting all together, Now standing on her feet, Yang looked at her surroundings, searching for her opponent. Yang heard a noise and turned quickly, but she didn't move quickly enough. And Ayane raced past her, with her short sword held out, but had blood on them. Yang finally noticed Ayane, but at that moment, inconceivable pain overwhelmed Yang. She screamed in agony, looking at the ground, seeing her severed arm!

Knowing her tactic had succeeded, Ayane turned to Yang, tossing the swords to the ground. Yang's anger surfaced, but her eyes did not turn crimson. Yang ran at Ayane and thrust her mechanical arm at her. Ayane caught her mechanical arm. She swiftly climbed ontop of Yang and held Yang's head firmly between her thighs. Ayane twisted her body, snapping Yang's neck. Ayane watched the lifeless body drop to the ground. She inspected the body, confirming her kill. Ayane retrieved her weapons and departed.

K.O.!

Conclusion[]

(Cue Shade - Dead or Alive 5)

Boomstick: Whoa, that was crazy! I didn’t even know who was gonna get the win.

Wiz: Ayane and Yang were pretty comparable in numerous areas, strength, durability, stamina, experience, and they even shared a couple of the same abilities. Both could utilize their pools to energy to strengthen and protect themselves. They both also possessed enhanced senses, keeping aware of their opponent's movements.

Boomstick: But Ayane was always one step ahead. Her reaction and combat speeds completely outclassed Yang's speeds. And since Ember Celica used both shotgun and explosive projectiles, Ayane could avoid them with ease. Leaving Yang with fewer options. But she did have her Semblance, which helped out a lot.

Wiz: Being able to withstand almost all of Ayane's attacks and dish them back even harder, Yang had the perfect defence against Ayane's speed over strength approach. All that damage was absorbed and stored for later use. Making Yang very dangerous, and Ember Celica's unique design meant Ayane had to adapt to the situation.

Boomstick: Unfortunately, Yang's limited ammunition meant this couldn't last. By comparison, Ayane's weaponry, her kunai and short swords had no such limitations. Ayane could just go and pick them up if she needed to. Because of this, Ayane's inventory was more reliable in this fight.

Wiz: Ayane could keep her Ninpo entirely reserved for situations that needed its use, such as healing wounds, teleporting, or using powerful offensive techniques. Though with Ayane's incredible speed and Yang's Aura providing her with healing powers, both had key advantages, which made this verdict difficult to determine.

Boomstick: We then thought "Who could land the killing blow first?" And this was tough because Ayane is too fast for Yang to hit, but Yang can take Ayane's strikes without major damage to her Aura. Naturally, Ayane would need to use Ninpo more often as the fight went on, and Yang's Aura naturally depleted as the fight went on. Both Ninpo and Aura are what these girls relied on to mend wounds. It allowed them to keep going.

Wiz: So naturally, the fight could carry on until they ran out of Ninpo and Aura respectively. Ayane using Art of the Raging Mountain God commanded enough destructive force to destroy the middle floors of the DOATEC Tritower. And since combat wears down Aura, dropping a blast of that much destructive potential, on top of the combat damage, was enough to take down Yang's Aura. But this would end up costing Ayane all the Ninpo she had left.

Boomstick: Without their resources to boost or heal them, Ayane and Yang had to fight with what they had left, without her Semblance, healing, or enhanced senses, Yang was vulnerable to Ayane's advantages. On the other hand, without her Ninpo, Ayane still had the speed advantage, a more reliable inventory, and the means to land a killing blow. The Huntress did her best, but in the end, she couldn't Yang in there.

Wiz: The winner is Ayane.
