DC Comics vs Dragon Ball! Two raging fighters clash on Cheesypickles564's third Death Battle!
Interlude[]
Puppy: Atrocitus, the leader of the Red Lanterns.
Kitty: And Jiren, the pride trooper of universe 11!
Puppy: Losing someone close to you is belittling, and may cause you to reveal the anger inside.
Kitty: And these two are no strangers to that feeling! He’s Puppy and I’m Kitty!
Puppy: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Atrocitus[]
Puppy: Sector 666 was an average planet with many wonders. One of the civilians, who was named Atros, lived a great life, before something horrible happened.
Kitty: The Manhunters, Beta Green Lanterns, were demented and were somehow given a goal of wiping out every life form on that planet! God, I hate when that happens.
Puppy: Enraged over the deaths of his family, Atros began a club to take down the Guardians of the Universe.
Kitty: That little ol’ art club was the Five Inversions. The Inversions were eventually fought, captured and sent to the Guardian’s capital.
Puppy: It was there were Atros foretold the Blackest Night. It was there were Abin Sur released Atros. And on that fateful night, Abin Sur was slain.
Kitty: Atros was captured once more and thrown back in the slammer! He eventually killed his friends and used those blood n’ guts to make a ring! Kind of a waste of blood n’ guts, amiright?
Puppy: Atros soon adopted the title Atrocitus and decided to seek vengeance. The ring also gave him spectacular powers, though his blood was replaced with plasma.
Kitty: Atrocitus gets a boosted physique, a force field and even the ability to make constructs ranging from a brick to a blanket to a dick!
Puppy: His ring also has an attack that gives Atrocitus a long-range option. Atros can shoot pure rage out of his ring.
Kitty: The Red Lantern’s natural attribute is rage, making it obvious that the magical piece of jewelry feeds off of rage.
Puppy: Atrocitus also has many other assorted abilities such as flight, a bizarre healing factor and the ability to sense the rage of another life form.
Kitty: And remember that plasma that was thrown into his blood? That is actually a highly volatile substance where Atros can lose his lunch and the barf has enough power to burn the fabric of space!
Puppy: Atrocitus can break Green Lantern shields and even out speed Superman, who could move waaaay faster than light.
Kitty: Sometimes, it seems that light-speed is the bare minimum for DC characters!
Puppy: Atros could kill the last Guardian of the Universe, keep fighting without his heart, snapped Volthoom’s neck and survived an energy blast from Larfleeze! Though, with all of these feats, there must be faults.
Kitty: If his ring gets removed, he dies. He also has constant and uncontrollable rage as well as the need to chant to recharge his ring!
Puppy: Atrocitus also uses close-quarters combat more than his ethereal weapon, so that puts him at risk of someone slipping the ring straight off of his extraterrestrial finger.
Kitty: But this bad boy won’t give up! He’s gotta spread rage through the universe!
Jiren[]
Kitty: Meet Jiren, a blowfish looking alien! He is our topic in this analyzation.
Puppy: Jiren’s parents were slaughtered when he was young and was quickly traumatized. Soon after that, he met someone who would become his mentor.
Kitty: But then the same bastard who slaughtered his family slaughtered his teacher and his fellow students! Jeez, talk about a school shooting. Or in this case, a school demonic-powers-whatever-the-hell-it-is.
Puppy: The very few survivors gave up and left Jiren to fend for himself. He decided to no longer trust people and hide until he reached a high enough level of strength.
Kitty: Yowch! Slam this in a “Characters who went through more pain then Rey Skywalker” post and you’ve got the perfect comment! Jiren was doing training montages every day of his life until the Pride Troopers came-a-knockin’! They recruited Jiren shortly after.
Puppy: Jiren eventually trained so hard that he surpassed the god of destruction! In fact, he’s the most powerful being in his universe!
Kitty: Being a Pride Trooper, unimaginable, unobtainable power is usually standard. He can also fly, sense ki and shoot ki as well.
Puppy: He also has multiple fighting techniques and styles to overpower an defeat any opponent such as his signature move, The Power Impact.
Kitty: The Power Impact creates a big, red orb of Ki that expands at an alarming rate. Other moves include Energy Punches powerful enough to destroy Kamehameha beams!
Puppy: Jiren can also create Force fields powerful enough to block attacks such as Final Flash!
Kitty: The Pride Trooper can even attack people by… looking at them? Is he the Medusa or somethin’? Anyways, his eye-blasts can fight back an attack conjured by every single member of Universe 7! WOWZERS!
Puppy: He can also move at untraceable speeds and attack opponents so hard, that his punches can’t even be seen! He even has a super form unlocked to combat Goku, the Full Power.
Kitty: But of course, the power-seeking monster saw this as not enough, so he unlocked another form where he powers himself with rage and his shirt tears itself off to reveal those manly muscles.
Puppy: You think that blowfish monster is attracting?
Kitty: I mean, he is pretty cute for an overpowered power-hungry monster!
Puppy: In this form, Jiren could defeat Kaio-Ken Goku, Super Saiyan Shinka Vegeta and goddamn Android 17! This guy is a beast!
Kitty: What the hell is up with these names! Shinka sounds like a car brand and Kaio-Ken sounds like a Chinese line of Ken Dolls! The Shinka Vegeta is more powerful than his Blue form which could destroy the goddamn Time Chamber! Hell, Jiren even managed to fight with the notorious Ultra Instinct meme, capable of dodging practically anything!
Puppy: Jiren even managed to take down Golden Frieza in one hit, overpower a Kamehameha, travel between planets with ease, shook a realm of infinite size, and take hits from Vegeta and Ultra Instinct Goku!
Kitty: The Pride Trooper could defeat Hit, True Golden Frieza and he’s even fought Ultra Instinct Goku to a standstill!
Puppy: Whilst he is very powerful, Jiren is not invincible nor undefeatable. He doesn’t tend to go all out and he lost to many people. But he is still a force to be reckoned with.
Pre-Fight[]
(Cue: Ikari)
Atrocitus, the leader of the Red Lanterns, walked down a line of corpses. Each belonged to a member of the Pride Troopers. “Foolish.” Atrocitus mumbled to himself.
The Red Lantern walked slowly through the bodies and came to a pause when he saw what he came for. Jiren, the most powerful member of the Pride Troopers, rapidly attacking a punching bag. In a matter of seconds, the bag was obliterated.
“I hear you are the most powerful in your Universe.” Said Atrocitus after seeing the pure strength of the Pride Trooper. “And I sense a lot of rage.” Jiren had heard Atros and turned around. “Rage. Caused by my past.” Replied Jiren. “Why are you here?”
”To recruit you, my raging fellow, to the Red Lanterns.” Jiren was shocked at this request. “Join you? The one who just killed my companions? What do you take me for, a fool?” Jiren used an Energy Punch to send Atrocitus darting away from the planet.
”Fool. You do not see what might we Lanterns carry!”
Fight[]
Jiren began the brawl by rushing towards Atrocitus, but he merely blocked it with a shield construct. “What power is this?” Questioned Jiren seconds before he was slapped away.
“You… have no respect for power, fool?” Atrocitus soon hit him again. “Denying the Red Lanterns? You will surely die!” Atrocitus gave Jiren a stern stare, completely aware of how much power was in the Pride Trooper. “I wonder how many others you will kill along the way… Haven’t you seen enough death and destruction already?” Jiren taunted as he stood back. “You see what it does, to someone like you, miscreant!” Jiren darted towards Atrocitus and hit him in the gut with an Energy Punch.
Atrocitus’ shield did its job for a short time before being smashed apart. He used his energy to quickly raise the shield, but Jiren easily destroyed it and knocked him through a planet. He responded with another Energy Punch that caused Atrocitus to barrel through the rest of the planet, destroying it.
Atrocitus found himself falling towards another planet below, but he was not yet defeated. He used his ring to bring his shield back to life, as well as a spear, and dodged Jiren’s attacks. He decided to use a long leap to perform a roll, and that was when Jiren’s foot kicked him down. He was able to roll back up, but he knew it would not be long before Jiren delivered another hit.
“Well, “Red Lantern”, it appears you are not as strong as you thought you were.” Jiren said. “You’re arrogant.” Before Jiren could finish his sentence, the Red Lantern’s fist immediately met with his face and sent him darting away. Atrocitus rose his hand into the air, and a red orb resembling a Star rose out of his ring and was hurled towards the Pride Trooper.
Jiren seemed to have expected the attack, and he dodged it easily, but the orb hit the surface of the planet, and the planet was soon vaporized. A new red ball, however, did not get vaporized; instead it encased Jiren. Atrocitus snickered. “Now perish!”
The Red Lantern created a machine-gun with his ring, which began to blast at Jiren, who swept around the bullet and grabbed Atrocitus by the throat. “You are the most foolish of warriors! Your superiority proves nothing!” Jiren struck Atrocitus in the face, and Atrocitus retaliated with a punch to Jiren’s chin. Jiren used the opportunity to punch Atrocitus in the gut and the Red Lantern fell backwards. Atrocitus quickly recovered and shot red vomit out of his mouth, which Jiren blocked with his shield. However, the Pride Trooper could not sustain the protection and the vomit powered through and hit him. The Red Lantern shoved his hand into Jiren’s face and grabbed it and threw him away.
“DIE!” Yelled Jiren as he threw multiple ki blasts at his opponent, who cut them up and redirected them with buzzsaw constructs. More ki blasts flew towards Atrocitus, who destroyed them with multiple constructs, including swords, spears, spikes and knives.
Jiren swung his fist with all his might at Atrocitus. But before the punch could connect, Atrocitus’ blade construct blocked and sliced at Jiren’s head. Jiren jerked his head towards the right to dodge and kicked Atrocitus in the throat.
“You killed my companions! I can’t let you live!” Jiren punched Atrocitus once in the face, and again in the stomach.
“Do not worry… you will join them!”Atrocitus punched Jiren in the gut, knocking him back and causing him to cough out blood.
Atrocitus walked towards his opponent and raised his hand into the air, creating another sword construct. He stepped back and attacked with his sword construct, hitting Jiren in the head multiple times, knocking him down and off his feet. “YOU WILL FALL!”
Jiren flew into the air and dove at Atrocitus, kicking him across the cheek. He then grabbed the Red Lantern by the legs and threw him into a far-away planet. Right when Atrocitus landed, a shining red light emerged from his ring and darted towards Jiren, who in turn, blocked it with his fist and zipped towards Atros.
“You are brave, foolish and stubborn!” Jiren yelled. “I will rip you into pieces. You will fall and…” Before Jiren could finish his sentence, Atrocitus jumped up, punched him in the stomach, and was instantly sent back. Jiren yelled in pain and started to fly towards his opponent, who stepped back and readied his fist. The Red Lantern raised his hand and unleashed another volley of punches, all of which missed.
Jiren stopped and grabbed the fist, and using the momentum, sent the Red Lantern flying, and smashed him into a planet. However, Atrocitus was unaffected, and summoned a bright-red construct that resembled an axe. He swung with all his might at Jiren, who dodged. The Red Lantern retaliated with another volley of strikes, which managed to hit Jiren.
The Pride Trooper yelled in pain, and pushed his angered foe back. He thrust his hands into the air, and a giant ball of ki was summoned. This was the Power Impact. “Gah!” Jiren yelled as he tossed the ball towards Atrocitus, who couldn’t react in time and was hit. With the Red Lantern stunned, Jiren unleashed an invisible eye blast at him and sent him into the distance.
“Ha ha! You don’t stand a chance against me!” Jiren said in the distance. The Red Lantern observed his opponent, who was yet to attack again. Jiren soon darted towards Atrocitus and used an Energy Punch, which was caught by his foe. “THIS ENDS NOW!” Yelled Atrocitus as he punched Jiren away, and sent a barrage of constructs shaped like spears towards his foe, who in turn, blocked them all with an Energy Barrier and stood with his arms folded.
Atrocitus took a short breath, before screaming and creating small constructs that resembled shards of glass and threw them all towards his opponent, who blocked them again.
“Why can’t you die, you insufferable being?!?!” Yelled Atrocitus. “YOU WILL SUFFER!”
A bright light formed behind him, and Jiren turned around to face it, while avoiding the multiplying shards of glass that were thrown at him. Soon, they stopped, and Atrocitus was standing still, chanting an oath of some sort.
“With blood and rage of crimson red, Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead, Together with our hellish hate, We'll burn you all, that is your fate!”
Jiren took his opponent’s break as a chance to attack, but before he could land a blow, he stared down, and straight through his chest was a blood-red spear, courtesy of Atrocitus.
“no…” Jiren whispered coldly to himself and fell down to his knees, despite being in space. “Fool.” Mumbled Atrocitus before slowly hovering away.
“I can not lose.”
”I can not lose.”
“I can not lose!”
“I CAN NOT LOSE!”
“I CAN NOT LOSE!”
(Cue: Dragon Ball Super OST - Jiren Full Power Theme)
After a few seconds, a red flame emerged behind Atrocitus. There was his opponent, Jiren, who grabbed the weapon and snapped it in half like a toothpick. His uniform was blown off, his eyes red with rage. He could not lose.
Jiren hovered towards his foe, and as he swung, Atrocitus was sent flying to who-knows-where and Jiren disappeared in a flash.
“Fool.”
Jiren was steaming mad. The only people he had left were killed by some disgusting fool. He slowly began to drift away, before being hit in the back by a blast of pure rage.
“YOU BELIEVED THAT COULD KILL ME?” Atrocitus uppercutted Jiren, and hit him with a volley of punches, before Jiren responded with the same. Practically tearing at each other’s bodies, both had vicious looks in their eyes. After a few seconds, Jiren emerged victorious and grabbed Atrocitus by the leg and threw him into another planet.
“GRAH!” A roar of rage erupted from the poor planet’s remains, and Atrocitus emerged. He created a humongous Anti-Aircraft Missile and sent it towards Jiren, who got hit in the face. The missile exploded, and Jiren was sent back into space.
“Vengeance!”
The red and blue haired being came to a standstill as he spotted several things in the distance. There were Jiren’s unconscious body, and broken pieces of planets. Atrocitus sneered, before being hit by an unseen Power Impact. Jiren rapidly tossed even more Impacts into the blast, growing it to an even larger size.
“DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIEEEEEE!!!”
The blast had grown to such a size that ended up exploding the entire Galaxy they were fighting in.
Pride Trooper and Red Lantern alike, both Atrocitus and Jiren floated in a bill space, near-death. Both slowly woke up and though that this was it. It would end right here, right now.
”I fight for my friends. I’ve lost too much, and I can’t lose this. He will pay. This red fool will pay.”
”This fool dares to refuse the power of the Red Lanterns. I will have my vengeance!”
Jiren stood back, readying an energy punch. Atrocitus coated his fist in pure rage. And then…
“GRAAAAAAH!”
Atrocitus’ punch tore straight through Jiren’s chest, splitting him in halves.
KO!
Ending Screen A: Atrocitus is seen terrorizing what’s left of Universe 11.
Ending Screen B: Jiren’s two halves are seen floating in space.
Results[]
Kitty: Wow, that was great! Could’ve used more blood, though.
Puppy: This was a tough call, what with Jiren and Atrocitus blatantly matching each other in… well, everything. There was one deciding factor that will be explained later.
Kitty: Atrocitus could overpower Indigo-1, Saint Walker and Star Sapphire at the same time, whilst Jiren could take down Vegeta, Goku and Android 17 at the same time. Atrocitus takes the cake in strength, but it’s such a small gap that it’s barely notable.
Puppy: Moving on to speed, Atrocitus regularly dodges gunfire and outspeeds Hal Jordan, who can travel from Earth to Mars in 15 seconds, while Jiren could dodge attacks from Ultra Instinct users, who could block attacks going at 986,237,860,000,000,000,000miles per second!
Kitty: Now, onto experience, Atrocitus has been doin’ his ring tricks for a while, sure, but Jiren took this category via literally training for, well, almost all of his life and quite literally possesses more experience than all of the members of Universe 11!
Puppy: Now, with durability, we have Jiren taking hits from Goku, Vegeta and more, and Atrocitus tanked an energy blast from Larfleeze like it was nothing! Larfleeze could defeat the Guardians in a few blows and is powerful enough to take on all of the corps. Atrocitus is taking this category. And both are also around the same intellect.
Kitty: And now, for the deciding factor, the Red Lantern ring. Could it feed off of Jiren’s rage without being overloaded? The answer is yes!
Puppy: During Dragon Ball, it has been shown that Jiren is trying to control his rage, and since we’re using each character at their PEAK, Jiren should have a low enough amount of rage to be absorbed by the ring long enough for him to be beaten.
Kitty: At first, Jiren was red with rage, but now, he’s red with blood!
Puppy: The Winner is Atrocitus.
