Asriel Dreemurr vs Marisa Kirisame is a What-If? episode of Death Battle, featuring Asriel Dreemurr from Undertale and Marisa Kirisame from Touhou Project. The Fanon Death Battle is created by 5555thExplosionMage and adopted by Mariogoods.

Description[]

Two awesome magicians in black-and-white clothes fights each other. But only one could prove thaet he or she is more powerful.

Interlude[]

Mariogoods' version[]

Wiz: Magics, especially magics with awesome names, are attractive for boys and girls.

Boomstick: Imagining that you are portraying a magician, shouting the name of a magic and it works, you will find it awesome too!

Wiz: Some magicians has developed their own magic styles which focus on the firepower, magical bullet hell.

Boomstick: And their own magic styles includes the beauty of magic! Also, they can shoot magic beams!

Wiz: Like Asriel Dreemurr, the God of Hyperdeath.

Boomstick: And Marisa Kirisame, the Ordinary Magician. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick...

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skill, to find out who would win... A Death Battle.

5555thExplosionMage's version[]

Hat: YOU THOUGHT WE WERE DEAD HUH!? LOLNO! WE'RE BACK WITH A BUNCH MORE VIOLENCE AND DEATH FOR YOU ALL!

Mage: Yay... Anyway, these two fighters use space related attacks, friends with the main character, appear as an enemy, and are from bullet hells.

Hat: ASRIEL DREMURR THE GOD OF HYPERDEATH!

Mage: And Marisa Kirisame just your ordinary witch.

Hat: SHE'S MAGE AND I'M HER HAT!

Mage: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Asriel Dreemurr[]

Wiz: After the monsters being defeated in the war between humans and monsters, monsters are sealed and lives in the Underground.

Boomstick: Asriel Dreemurr is the son of Asgore Dreemurr, the ruler of the Underground, and Toriel. They are Boss Monsters, a.k.a., goats and they only age when their offspring ages. Humans forget the place and monsters in the Underground lives peacefully but hopeless because of the barrier.

Wiz: Because of the soul of monsters is weaker than humans, seven human souls are required to break the barrier. But geting human souls mean that human will be killed first and Asriel Dreemurr has no intention to do so at first.

Boomstick: Looking at the monsters' power and abilities, I suddenly feel that the only reason humans win is because of the plot.

Wiz: Hmm... However, when a human child fell into the Underground, was adopted by Dreemurr family and led to the death of Chara and Asriel, everything is changed. Because Asriel is killed by humans without resistance, Asgore decides to kill all the humans and gets their souls, which causes his divorce to Toriel.

Boomstick: When Alphys, the royal scientist, injected determination into one of the garden's golden flowers, Asriel is accidently revived as Flowey but is without a soul and unable to feel emotions such as love and joy.

Wiz: Because of determination, Flowey gets the ability of save and load, which allows him play with every monsters in the Underground.

Boomstick: But he is unable to play with two monsters: the baldy and the daddy. You know, don't challenge someone without hair since they are often the strongest in their verse.

Wiz: Flowey's manipulation of timelines work until Frisk falls into the Underground. Frisk has more determination than Flowey and Flowey's save and load ability is overwhelmed by Frisk.

Boomstick: If you are playing the true pacifist route, Flowey will absorb six human souls and many montser souls. Thus, he is technically having seven souls and transform into the physically teenger Asriel Dreemurr, "the God of Hyperdeath".

Wiz: Don't judge people by their name. Because of technically having seven human souls, he is now stronger than Photoshop Flowey, who could overpower Frisk's determination, rewrite the game world into his own world and be able to kill Frisk until six human souls rebel against him.

Boomstick: If you don't have enough determination and he is serious, he is a strong guy who can create and destroy numerous timelines. He is completely unaffected by his attacks.

Wiz: Hmm... even the Photoshop Flowey has the timelines abilities, but since Photoshop Flowey is stated as "LV9999" and seven human souls Asriel is stated as "∞ ATK ∞ DEF", we can assume that seven human souls Asriel is far stronger than Photoshop Flowey, a.k.a., six human souls Asriel.

Boomstick: Despite he could easily control timelines, he tends to use attacks with awesome names and visual effects such as Chaos Buster, Chaos Blaster, Chaos Saber, Chaos Slicer, Shocker Breaker, Shocker Breaker II, Star Blazing, Galacta Blazing and Hyper Goner. They functions like another combatant's spell cards.

Wiz: Since Toby Fox stated that he is a Touhou fan when he meets ZUN, it makes sense. As a god, he has the second form called "Angel of Death" and he will make his opponents unable to do everything except struggle and power of love.

Boomstick: I think his second form is just to be awesome. By the way, it is debateful that the reason why Frisk stands Asriel's last attack despite being badly hurt. Some think it is because of Frisk's determination; some think it is because of Asriel's lacking of intention of killing Frisk; some think it is because of the two theories.

Wiz: Asriel has an immeasurable speed, since Frisk is unable to hit him and he is out of all timelines. Also, since he has six human souls and many monster souls, skills from the souls' original users could be used too. He can causally change the battle background to be cooler. Finally, Asriel could perform fire magic like his parents.

Boomstick: Because Asriel has "seven human souls" now, he is more like his original self, unlike Photoshop Flowey. His original self is described as an average little boy.

Wiz: But at least, his strength proves that he could let you die many times without resistance.

(The original Asriel transforms into his "teenager" form and his name is shown below him before the battle in Undertale)

Marisa Kirisame[]

Boomstick: As we know, Marisa Kirisame is Mima's apprentice and she is ordered by Mima to delay Reimu Hakurei.

Wiz: Well, the stories above is from the PC-98 Touhou games, which is not considered by ZUN as canon. So we will only use her feats from Windows Touhou games.

Boomstick: Hmm... Well, it seems that Mima comes back later. Anyway, Marisa Kirisame is born as the only offspring of Kirisame family but decides to live in the Forest of Magic and avoids connection to her family.

Wiz: Since she lives far away from Human Village, she often collects mushrooms and other things for food and magical researches. She has resistance to poisonous food and could perform magics as the result.

Boomstick: She has also developed theif skills to "borrow" things easily, tends to collect things and seldom tidies her room despite her house is named as "Kirisame Magic Shop" by herself.

Wiz: As one of the services provided by Kirisame Magic Shop and her interest, she also engages in youkai exterminations and is considered as one of the main protagonists in Touhou Project and is likely one of Reimu Hakurei's close friends.

Boomstick: Despite Marisa Kirisame is stated as weaker than Reimu Hakurei in most categories, who has some outstanding abilities mentioned in previous episode.

Wiz: As we stated in previous episode, we will find Marisa's power and abilities without much dependence of the Spell Card System. Print Works will be taken into consideration.

Boomstick: Because of being a magician, Marisa Kirisame adopts several typical magician equipment such as a broom, a magic book and costumes. Her broom is, in fact, an ordinary broom and she can fly without the broom. Her magic book is an ordinary notebook. But if it makes you cooler and you can control them freely, it's not a problem!

Wiz: Right. Despite weaker than Reimu, Marisa Kirisame has stardust-like attacks and she performs such attack when she is charging forward, shooting forward and so on. She has contained her stardust magic in the magic potion as a bomb.

Boomstick: And most importantly, her stardust is eatable and tastes sweet. Even though, I suggest you don't eat them since they are with offensive magic.

Wiz: Her most notable attacks are Master Sparks powered by Mini-Hakkero. Master Spark is the name given to her many long-range colorful magic laser skills. Marisa Kirisame once describes Master Spark as "While shooting concentrate your mind, gently muttering the spell to the Mini-Hakkero. Aiming at someone you don't like, a magicannon of love will be unleashed!"

Boomstick: Her magicannon of love is too strong for average human to withstand because the Master Spark powered by Mini-Hakkero could destroy a mountain.

Wiz: Despite her martial arts is not as skillful as Reimu's, Marisa Kirisame can actually quickly perform moves such as swinging her broom and spinning herself like Top Man.

Boomstick: Despite she has such abilities, she is still human in the verse that human are generally weaker than youkai while there are youkai species called "magician".

Wiz: But don't worry about her, her abilities make sure that all your chance to win are belong to her.

(Marisa poses her victory pose in Urban Legend in Limbo)

Pre-Fight[]

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!!

Death Battle[]

Traditionally animated

In a forest, Marisa Kirisame is collecting mushrooms and notices an strange flower. The strange flower is revealed to be a sleeping Flowey. As Marisa Kirisame attempts to take the strange flower, Flowey suddenly wakes up and quickly hides himself under the ground before reappearing in another place. Flowey then speaks and Marisa Kirisame is surprised.

Flowey: Howdy! It's me, your best... Sorry, your future best friend.

As Marisa Kirisame attempts to answer, Flowey changes his face to the God of Hyperdeath Asriel's face and says:

Flowey: I'm lonely again. Could you spend some time playing with me?

Marisa Kirisame becomes interested in the talking flower and accepts Flowey's request. Flowey is happy to hear this.

Marisa Kirisame: Well, what about danmaku? You know, the bullet hell game.

Flowey: That's wonderful! I have played the game before.

Thinking that Flowey is too weak to play the bullet hell game with her, Marisa Kirisame asks:

Marisa Kirisame: Are you sure you can play the bullet hell game?

Flowey: Don't worry. I am the God of Hyperdeath!

Marisa Kirisame looks at Flowey again as she doesn't believe the talking flower claims himself as "the God of Hyperdeath". Flowey notices this and says:

Flowey: You may think I'm little, but beware the might of hyperdeath!

Flowey then absorbs six human souls and monster souls appeared in the scene, transforming himself into Asriel.

Asriel Dreemurr: Well... If you don't believe, it's my true form!

Marisa Kirisame looks at Asriel and is surprised but quickly calms down. Marisa Kirisame then takes out her broom, rides on it and says:

Marisa Kirisame: There's no way I could lose.

Asriel Dreemurr: I won't lose too! Behold my power!

After Asriel Dreemurr finishes the line, he quickly performs his fire magic. A trail of fireballs appear and moves in a certain pattern. Marisa Kirisame casually dodges all the fireballs. Asriel Dreemurr notices this and turns the background into the more colorful background in Undertale fashion.

Asriel Dreemurr: The truly true battle is just beginning!

Marisa Kirisame: Well, I'm your senior when it comes to danmaku.

Asriel Dreemurr: It sounds interesting. Star Blazing!

As Asriel Dreemurr calls on Star Blazing, many large and star-shaped projectiles rain down. Marisa Kirisame attempts to counter the attacks by releasing many small and star-shape projectiles. Marisa Kirisame's projectiles fail to hit Asriel Dreemurr since Asriel disappears before his projectiles rain down and Marisa Kirisame narrowly dodges all Asriel Dreemurr's projectiles.

Asriel Dreemurr then reappears and calls on Chaos Saber. A blade is summoned by him and Asriel Dreemurr attempts to hit Marisa Kirisame with his blade. Marisa Kirisame attempts to block the attack by rapidly spinning herself with her broom, but her broom is cutted when the blade contacts the broom. Marisa Kirisame is knocked off and falls since she is not used to flying with broom. Marisa Kirisame then manages to keep balance and fly without the broom. Asriel Dreemurr puts away his blade and briefly waits until Marisa Kirisame prepares for next attack while he is preparing for his next attack.

Asriel Dreemurr: Shocker Breaker!

As Asriel Dreemurr calls on Shocker Breaker, several thunders are struck after [!] boxes briefly appears. Despite Marisa Kirisame lost her broom, she keeps flying and dodges all thunders by rushing to Asriel Dreemurr. Marisa Kirisame releases many small and star-shape projectiles while rushing. None of Marisa Kirisame's projectiles hit Asriel Dreemurr and Asriel Dreemurr's projectiles almost hit Marisa Kirisame. Asriel Dreemurr notices this and says:

Asriel Dreemurr: Wow... you're really special. But beware my next attack! Galacta Blazing!

As Asriel Dreemurr calls on Galacta Blazing, many large and star-shaped projectiles, which are more intense than Star Blazing, rain down. Now without her broom and feeling tired, Marisa Kirisame decides to quickly end the battle by shooting the Master Spark. But Asriel Dreemurr is so excited and happy that he doesn't notice Marisa Kirisame's tiredness despite Marisa Kirisame's tiredness is easy to be noticed. Asriel Dreemurr only notices that Marisa Kirisame takes out Mini-Hakkero and parpares for the Master Spark. A widely colorful magic laser is released from the Mini-Hakkero and targets to Asriel Dreemurr.

Marisa Kirisame: Final Master Spark!

Asriel Dreemurr notices this and finds it similar to one of his attacks and says:

Asriel Dreemurr: Wow... your special attack looks like my Chaos Blaster. I'll show you that. Chaos Blaster!

As Asriel Dreemurr calls on Chaos Blaster, a blaster appears in one of Asriel Dreemurr's hands. Asriel Dreemurr fires waves of bullets, which are destroyed by the coming Final Master Spark. Then Asriel Dreemurr fires a charged beam while Final Master Spark comes closer to him. Despite Asriel Dreemurr's beam is fired much later and smaller than Marisa Kirisame's Final Master Spark, Asriel Dreemurr's beam quickly overwhelms Marisa Kirisame's Final Master Spark and Marisa Kirisame barely holds her Mini-Hakkero in her two hands. While Marisa Kirisame is left no other choices, she chooses to keep holding her Mini-Hakkero and is quickly overwhelmed by Asriel Dreemurr's beam, which annihilates her and her Mini-Hakkero.

Asriel Dreemurr's charged beam is fully released and he feels excited until he notices that he cannot find Marisa Kirisame. Thinking that he killed Marisa Kirisame, Asriel Dreemurr feels sad since he believes that Marisa Kirisame has more determination since she looks older than Frisk and Chara. Then Asriel Dreemurr resets the timeline.

KO!

Results[]

(We cut to Wiz and Boomstick)

Boomstick: It seems that Marisa Kirisame loses.

Wiz: Marisa Kirisame has experience of dodging bullet hell and Asriel Dreemurr's bullet hell seems not as intense as bullet hell in Touhou Project. It is the game effect and it's not the key of the battle. In the interview with Toby Fox, ZUN and Yoshiro Kimura, Toby Fox said that the bullet hell in Undertale is not intended to be as hard as Lunatic mode in Touhou Project.

Boomstick: Marisa Kirisame's experience seemly gives her advantage against Asriel. However, she is outclassed by Asriel in other categoires.

Wiz: While Marisa Kirisame has many impressive magics, she is compeletely unable to resist Asriel's timelines creation and destruction.

Boomstick: Since several typical game mechanics such as save and load are considered as in-universe things and Asriel has a good control of such things because Undertale is a meta-game.

Wiz: Since it is suggested that the seven human souls are far superior than six human souls, we could assume that the God of Hyperdeath has at least all the power and abilities of Photoshop Flowey, who could casually manipulate timelines and is unaffected by such manipulation. The manipulate timelines allows him resurrect himself infinitely until six human souls rebel against him after he is seemly killed physically.

Boomstick: We have found that none of Marisa Kirisame's abilities could even affect or resist Asriel's power and abilities.

Wiz: Scaling her strength to Reimu is unreliable since it has been directly and indirectly suggested that Marisa and Reimu's power and abilities is like official Death Battle's interpretation of Son Goku and Superman's power and abilities. Also, "timeline" includes all spaces and time appeared in the game. Even if we assume that Asriel can only affect a mountain, he is still superior than Marisa since Marisa has no way to resist the time-space destruction and she is always included in the time-space rather than out of it.

Boomstick: Wait, doesn't Marisa has speed advantage?

Wiz: In fact, Marisa's speed is outpaced by Asriel because Asriel exists in higher dimension which Marisa is unable to hit him.

Boomstick: Marisa Kirisame is determined, but she does not have enough determination.

Wiz: The winner is Asriel Dreemurr.
