Kinnikuman VS Mortal Kombat! Two royal warrior princes of different realms fight for their kingdoms.

Ashuraman VS Goro is a what-if Death Battle by Unbacked0. It features Ashuraman from the Kinnikuman series and Goro from the Mortal Kombat series in a battle.

Description[]

Kinnikuman VS Mortal Kombat! Two many-armed princes fight to the death to prove who is the strongest.

Introduction[]

Wiz: They say those born into royalty are tasked with holding the responsibilities of their entire kingdom and worlds in their arms.

Boomstick: And it's so much easier to hold those responsibilities when you have more arms. Like Ashuraman, the Six-Armed Prince of the Demon Realm...

Wiz: And Goro, the Four-Armed Prince of the Shokan.

Boomstick: He's Wiz, and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Ashuraman[]

Wiz: Within the depths of the Demon Realm, there exists a royal family that has existed since ancient Chojin times to guide demon-kind.

Boomstick: And the latest and best member of the family was so impressive that even Satan wanted him on his side. The six-armed wrestler, Ashuraman.

Background:

  • Height: 6'6" (203cm)
  • Weight: 441lbs (200kg)
  • Occupation: Prince of the Demon Realm, Member of the Six Devil Knights
  • Species: Demon
  • Home Realm: Demon Realm
  • Fighting Styles: Wrestling
  • Loyal to Akuma Shogun and Satan

Wiz: Ashuraman had a fairly normal demonic childhood, being trained to lack mercy or friendship, however, this would change when he was taught by his teacher Samson.

Boomstick: Aside from kicking ass, Samson taught Ashuraman about being kind, having sympathy and not being a total dick. Eventually, Samson would save Ashuraman from a deadly river, dying in the process.

Wiz: While Ashuraman would initially treat this as a lesson in the fatal flaw in kindness, this moment would plant the seeds of friendship deep in Ashuraman's heart.

Boomstick: And what better way to water that seed than with the blood of his enemies and Ashuraman killed so many people in the name of the big evil man himself, Satan, becoming one of his Six Devil Knights. Oh, I get it, because he has six arms.

Wiz: Umm, no it's because there's six devils.

Boomstick: Ohh...

Abilities:

  • Chojin Physiology
  • Regeneration
  • Flight
  • Six Arms
  • Arm Stealing
  • Burning Inner Strength

Wiz: Unlike any other Chojin, Ashuraman has a total of six arms. Each one of these arms is powerful on its own but together, Ashuraman becomes a much deadlier threat. Ashuraman is able to perfectly control each arm, allowing him to overwhelm an opponent in a straight-up fistfight, grapple each one of an opponent's limbs with each arm or even use the additional weight of his arms to increase the damage of his techniques.

Boomstick: Even if Ashuraman loses one of his arms, he can easily get new ones by just taking them from someone else. If Ashuraman can break or rip someone's arms off, then he can make their arms come out of his torso, basically meaning that Ashuraman is always "armed" for a fight.

Wiz: Aside from regrowing his arms, Ashuraman has regeneration far greater than any other Chojin, being shown to reattach his decapitated head or recover after having his three faces caved in, even stronger Chojin like Ramenman still have major head wounds years afterwards but Ashuraman can recover practically instantly.

Boomstick: Aside from some sweet healing, Ashuraman can also use the Power of Friendship to make himself a lot stronger.

Wiz: With this Burning Inner Strength, Ashuraman is able to use his positive feelings to give himself a final boost in power, drastically increasing his stamina and letting Ashuraman survive normally lethal attacks, even if the attack erases Ashuraman from history entirely.

Techniques:

  • Tornado Hell
  • Ashura Buster
  • Paramita Lariat
  • Ashura Six Realm Lotus
  • Mandala Arms
  • Ashura Izuna Drop

Boomstick: And Ashuraman has got a load of killer techniques to match. Most of which are named after himself, the smug prick. He's got the wrestling staples, elbow drops, suplexes all the fun of fair but he's also got his own special wrestling moves that use all six of his arms. He's got his Paramita Lariat where he wraps his three arms around each other before doing a lariat and the Ashura Six Realm Lotus which is a bunch of palm strikes.

Wiz: And then there's more fantastical techniques like the Ashura Izuna Drop where he stands on the opponent's knees while they're upside in the air so he can slam them to the ground or the wall. He can stretch his arms with his Mandala Arms move and even swing his arms to create a tornado with his Tornado Hell.

Boomstick: And if getting hit by a tornado wasn't bad enough, it launches the poor bastard into the air so they can be hit by Ashuraman's best finishing move, the Ashura Buster.

Wiz: The Ashura Buster is a technique where Ashuraman holds his foe upside down over his shoulder, pinning all their limbs with six arms before dealing lethal damage when Ashuraman lands. The move is very versatile too, with Ashuraman making several variations including ones focused on smashing the top of the opponent's skull open with Ashuraman's helmet or wrapping his legs around their neck to focus damage to their neck and back.

Feats:

  • Helped to kill the Seven Devil Chojin.
  • Fought Terryman to a draw.
  • Figured out how to escape the Kinniku Buster.
  • Telekinetically lifted a giant stone statue.
  • Managed to defeat The Berserker and The Natural.

Boomstick: When you have this much wrestling swag, you know Ashuraman has the showings to back himself up. He currently has five wins and a single tie due to technicality. He's beaten the faces of the Chojin wrestling world like Terryman, Geronimo and Warsman, and he's even managed to defeat both The Berserker and The Natural, two Gods from the big wrestling ring in the sky.

Wiz: This is especially impressive because of their Chojin Power, a number that denominates how strong a Chojin is, with both Gods having a Chojin Power of 100 million, being 20 times stronger than Planetman who was able to fuse every planet in the solar system, barring Earth, into a body for him to fight with.

Boomstick: He's fast too, weaker Chojin can fly to the Moon and back in five minutes and even dodge beams of light.

Weaknesses:

  • Is less experienced in one-on-one fights.
  • Stolen arms can fight back or be predicted by their original owner.
  • The power of his techniques weakens if he loses his arms.
  • Is honour-bound to a fault.
  • Has lost to Kinnikuman, Terryman, Neptuneman, Justiceman and Mantaro Kinniku.

Wiz: That being said, Ashuraman isn't completely flawless, his wrestling record has four losses and of his five wins, three of them were tag team matches with Ashuraman's best friend, Sunshine.

Boomstick: Who just have the most wholesome bromance this side of Hell.

Wiz: While Ashuraman's reliance on his allies has led to him achieving the power of Burning Inner Strength, allowing him to beat Gods, it's also led him to be overreliant on his allies, granted it isn't that much of a problem when they can always lend him a hand, or an arm.

Boomstick: He also has that whole honourable warrior thing that means he'll do anything he's agreed to do after losing a fight, including going against his own allies. But hey, if you're badass enough to throw your own leg at the King of Devils to stop his plans for taking over the world, you don't have much to worry about.

Goro[]

Wiz: Mortal Kombat...

Boomstick: MORAL KOMBAT!

Wiz: Quiet! Anyways, Mortal Kombat, the tournament held on a semicentennial basis to determine the fate of entire realms. There have been many champions of Mortal Kombat who have led the destruction of many worlds but the most prolific of these champions of the Shokan Prince himself, Goro.

Background:

  • Height: 8’2” | 240 cm
  • Weight: 550 lbs | 249 kg
  • Age: > 2,000 years old
  • Species: Shokan
  • Home Realm: Outworld
  • Fighting styles: Shokan, Kuatan
  • Prince to King Gorbak and Queen Mai
  • 9-time Mortal Kombat champion

Boomstick: Oh yeah, Goro's a badass, the four-armed giant has been handing everyone their collective ass since before Jesus Christ was even born.

Wiz: Born to King Gorbak and Queen Mai, Goro was born into the world of the Shokan as the awe-inspiring Prince, being born for battle and bloodshed.

Boomstick: And when he was recruited to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament for Outworld, he kicked some serious Earthrealm ass for five hundred years straight.

Abilities:

  • Shokan Physiology
  • Longevity
  • Four Arms
  • Dragon's Breath
  • Fireball
  • Shokan Bolt

Wiz: Goro is a Shokan which is some mixture of dragon and human, aside from the frankly absurd life span this gives him, it also gives Goro a pair of additional arms. With these four arms, Goro is a master of both Shokan and Kuatan martial arts styles, two fighting styles made with the intention for a Shokan to take advantage of their extra pair of limbs and their sheer muscle mass so they can relentlessly beat on an opponent without giving them any room to breathe.

Boomstick: And since he's part dragon, Goro has some gnarly fire breath that can burn someone to death in a few seconds in a stream of flames or as an explosive fireball. And, since Goro's been around since forever, he knows some magical spells like his Shokan Bolt which is a blast of green magic he shoots from his hands and he can make a larger version by using all of his hands at the same time.

Wiz: And because of Goro's warrior heritage, even if someone were to remove Goro's arms, he would continue to fight through the pain, he's even fought in battles after having all four of his arms cut off.

Boomstick: Like a true badass would.

Techniques:

  • Shokan & Kuatan martial arts
  • Tremor Pound
  • Leaping Stomp
  • Punch Walk
  • Dragon Fangs
  • Fatalities

Wiz: While Goro may not have that many abilities, he's still an adept fighter. Most of Goro's fighting style is him using his massive strength and girth to push his advantage in a fight. While this fighting style is very simplistic, that isn't a bad thing in a fight.

Boomstick: Goro has his Tremor Pound where he shakes the ground with an earthquake punch to trip his foe up, his Leaping Stomp lets him jump high and goomba stomp a guy's head in, his Chest Lunge has Goro throw them with his lower hands and his Punch Walk is the very effective strategy of walking forward and throwing his hands around.

Wiz: Aside from his bare hands, Goro has four bladed gauntlets, one on each arm, named the Dragon Fangs which were actually forged from the fangs of actual dragons.

Boomstick: Not only is it the most metal way you can make a weapon. The Dragon Fangs are a deadly weapon that he uses to brutally stab and cut at his enemies until they're either dead or bleeding out on the floor. And who could forget the Fatalities.

Wiz: Most of Goro's Fatalities have him use his overwhelming strength to instantly kill his opponent, favouring practicality over gladiatorial style. Either hit an opponent's body into pieces, typically with a decapitating backhand or uppercut, or use his arms to rip off an opponent's limb from limb and even sometimes pull their head or torso in half.

Feats:

  • Defeated Kenshi, Kotal K’etz, Kintaro and the Great Kung Lao.
  • Can easily tear a person in two.
  • Won the Mortal Kombat tournament 9 times in a row.
  • Fought on par with Lui Kang.

Boomstick: Since Goro's a badass warrior, he has won the Mortal Kombat tournament nine times over the span of 450 years, managing to defeat every one of Earthrealm's champions including the Great Kung Lao.

Wiz: His most impressive showing is, ironically enough, his loss against the Earthrealm warrior, Lui Kang. This is impressive because, while he lost, Goro did manage to hold his own putting Goro on a similar level of strength to other characters that Lui Kang has defeated like Shao Kahn who had the ability to fuse entire realms together.

Boomstick: Now, the definition of realms is vague but we know that they're separate parts of the same universe and since merging realms literally fuses entire planets together, Goro is on par with people who have the power to destroy entire planets.

Wiz: This is fairly consistent across the franchise with the merging of realms being a thing that happens consistently including games like Mortal Kombat 3 where Outworld and Earthrealm are fused.

Boomstick: And despite being over 8 feet tall, Goro is surprisingly fast with even the less impressive Mortal Kombat characters being able to dodge Raiden's bolts of lightning.

Weaknesses:

  • Has a limited number of abilities.
  • Has a very simple fighting style.
  • Is honour-bound to a fault.
  • Has lost to Lui Kang, Kung Lao, Sub-Zero and Kotal Kahn.

Wiz: Despite Goro's stellar record, he isn't perfect, he's been beaten by other people than just Lui Kang, including Kung Lao, Sub-Zero and Kotal Kahn, who managed to cut off all of Goro's arms.

Boomstick: Goro is also really into the whole "honourable warrior" thing, meaning that if you can beat him, he'll probably just let you kill him. Which may be a good showing of sportsmanship, but might be a terrible idea to do in a fight to the death.

Wiz: But at the end of the day, Goro is an absolute monster so any man who tries to defeat him will more than likely end up dead before they even know it.

Pre-Fight[]

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities. Let's end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLEEEEE!!!

Fight[]

The scene opens in the middle of a packed arena, one side of the arena's seats is filled with Shokan along with other Outworld races like Tarkatans, and the other side is filled with Chojin who swore their allegiance to Satan. On the grounds of the floor of the arena, off to the side, there was a throne erected which Shao Kahn was sitting on, his arms resting on each arm of the throne, and to Shao Kahn's left, Akuma Shogun was sitting on his knees with his arms folded.

Shao Kahn: You'll find your faith in your champion crushed before your eyes as my conquest of this realm is complete.

Akuma Shogun: You are lucky that you are not your realm's champion, otherwise you'd be crushed under Ashuraman's boot.

The two spoke to each other as Ashuraman casually walked through one of the gates to the arena, waving his arms to build up hype among the Devil Chojin. From the gate on the other side of the arena, Goro walked into the arena to the applause of every Outworlder. Unlike Ashuraman, Goro kept a calm demeanour, never turning to face the crowd as he kept his eye on Ashuraman as he approached him.

Once the two were standing right in front of each other, they spoke.

Ashuraman: Ka-ka-ka, you're a little under-armed for this fight.

Ashuraman laughed as he folded all six of his arms and looked up at Goro.

Goro: I have no need for words, only your death.

Goro bluntly desponded and spread out his arm, ready for battle. Ashuraman unfolds his arms as he prepares to attack.

Shao Kahn: Fight!

Shao Kahn yelled, causing the two fighters to charge at each other, immediately grappling each other with all of their arms. Goro and Ashuraman grabbed each other's hands, however, both of Ashuraman's upper arms went for Goro's neck, trying to choke him out by pressing his thumbs against Goro's throat.

Goro crouched down slightly before leaping high into the air with Ashuraman. Using the sudden change in altitude and the element of surprise to throw Ashuraman to the ground before landing by stomping on two of Ashuraman's arms, one on each side. Goro continued his assault by grabbing onto both of the arms that he was standing on and yanking upwards, ripping both arms off entirely.

Ashuraman: Gah?!

Ashuraman let out a short yell before he forced his body into a sitting position and delivered a four-palm strike to Goro, knocking him back. As soon as Goro was away, Ashuraman got back to his feet, using two of his arms to cover the wounds where his arms were.

While Ashuraman was taking a second to recover, Goro charged ready to grapple with Ashuraman again. Instead of going to grab Goro, Ashuraman wrapped one of his left arms around the other before running at Goro. As soon as they were close, Ashuraman leapt up and delivered a two-armed Paramita Lariat to Goro's head.

Goro's neck and back bent back so Ashuraman went over him and Goro could recover as soon as possible instead of being pushed to the ground. Both of them turned to face the other, with Goro sliding his Dragon Fangs up his wrist and along his fists. As soon as they were facing each other, Ashuraman went to deliver another palm strike, however, Goro countered by stabbing all four of the Dragon Fangs through each of Ashuraman's palms.

Now that Ashuraman's arms were stuck, Goro lifted his foot up and pushed it against Ashuraman's stomach and forced him back as he pulled Ashuraman's arms, eventually forcing them off of his body and leaving Ashuraman with no arms.

Goro: Yield now and I will give you a noble death.

Despite missing all of his arms, Ashuraman stood there and was still cocky.

Ashuraman: Ka-ka-ka, maybe losing all of your arms would be your end, but...

Ashuraman spoke as hands started to appear from the open wounds where his arms were. The hands extended out, revealing a new set of six arms, each one having a different skin tone and shape than the other.

Ashuraman: ... It's just the beginning of my victory.

Once his arms were fully formed, Ashuraman moved both of his arms to his right before swinging them to his left, creating a tornado with a wave of his arms.

Ashuraman: Tornado Hell.

The tornado moved towards Goro as it increased in size and power, many of the people in the seating area had to hold on in order to stop themselves from being sucked in while both Shao Kahn and Akuma Shogun casually sat there despite being closer.

Goro managed to anchor himself down by crouching slightly, however, when the tornado got closer, Goro was sucked into it and launched out of the top. As Goro fell to the ground head first, Ashuraman leapt high into the air after him, positioning Goro's shoulders across his own before grabbing onto Goro's head, legs and arms with his six arms, with the arms grabbing Goro's arms having to hook around two of Goro's arms each to keep them in place.

Ashuraman: Ashura Buster!

Ashuraman prepared himself to land on his knees. While this was happening, Goro struggled to move his arms before breaking them free of Ashuraman's grip. Ashuraman managed to grab two of Goro's arms, however, the other two reached down for Ashuraman's head and started to pull at it.

Before they landed, Goro quickly snapped Ashuraman's head to the point it was facing the other way. Despite his neck being snapped, Ashuraman's grip held and landed on his knee, the impact was felt throughout Goro's body, especially on the two arms that Ashuraman was still holding with their bones breaking at the elbows.

Now on the floor, Goro shifted his weight to move off of Ashuraman's shoulders and back onto his feet. Meanwhile, Ashuraman's head twisted back into place with there seemingly being no wound at all.

Ashuraman: Ka-ka-ka-ka, you're going to have to try harder if you want to kill me.

Goro quickly grabbed Ashuraman's middle set of arms with the two arms that weren't broken before hoisting him up. Goro yanked at Ashuraman's arms and tried to pull them out, however, it was harder with only two arms. As this was happening, Ashuraman stretched out his free arms and wrapped them around Goro's broken arms.

Ashuraman: Unless you want to lose your arms, I'd stop.

Goro: They're worthless to me now.

Goro responded as lifted his foot up and pushed it against Ashuraman's body, using the force to rip two of Ashuraman's arms off. As this happened, Ashuraman pulled at Goro's broken arms and pulled them off in one clean motion.

The two stepped away from each other and threw away the other's ripped-off arms.

Goro: Go ahead and regrow your arms, it won't save you.

Ashuraman: Ka-ka-ka, I wouldn't be regrowing my arms.

From the open wounds, a new set of arms started to sprout out. As Goro watched them form, he noticed that they had a different number of fingers than all of Ashuraman's other arms and looked very familiar. Once they fully sprouted, Goro noticed that they were his arms.

Ashuraman and Goro then ran at each other and started to punch at each other. Ashuraman held four of his arms behind his back and fought against Goro with his own arms. Due to lack of weight that his arms had and his lack of experience with only two arms, Ashuraman held the advantage and started to land some heavy punches on Goro's body.

Ashuraman: How does it feel to be beat with your own arms?

Goro: My arms?

Goro began to think about what was said and started to get angry. Seconds later, the arms that Ashuraman was using turned away from Goro and punched Ashuraman in the face, giving him a bad nosebleed before they started to choke him. Ashuraman reached up to the arms and tried to pry them away from his throat.

Goro: My arms would never betray me.

Goro said as he punched in Ashuraman's direction with his two remaining arms, shooting his Shokan Bolts at him. Ashuraman moved two of his arms away from his neck and used them to block the projectiles. Eventually, Ashuraman stretched his four arms around both of Goro's arms and yanked them away, managing to contain them before running towards Goro and performing another Paramita Lariat.

The Paramita Lariat was going to hit Goro, however, he managed to manipulate the arm that Ashuraman had into bending upwards before Goro ducked under it. Goro then opened his mouth and started to breathe fire on Ashuraman, managing to burn his body.

After Ashuraman backed away from Goro's fire-breathing range and started to use his four arms to rip out Goro's traitours arms. Goro leapt high into the air to try and stomp on Ashuraman, however, he leapt up after Goro. Ashuraman landed a powerful headbutt, flipping Goro upside down.

Ashuraman then landed his knees against Goro's, riding him down to the ground with his Ashura Izuna Drop. Goro tried to use his two arms to cushion his fall, however, it didn't help much and the impact caused Goro to be planted into the ground.

While Goro's head was stuck, Ashuraman, as fast as possible, pulled out the arms that he stole from Goro before replacing them with another pair of arms that wouldn't betray him.

Goro pulled himself out of the ground, revealing that his head was bleeding from the impact. Goro charged at Ashuraman again, however, this time, Ashuraman swung his arms around, throwing tornados at Goro in the process.

Ashuraman: Tornado Hell.

The tornado grew in size quickly as soon as it left Ashuraman's range. Despite the tornado being directly in front of him, Goro ran as close as he could before punching the ground beneath his feet, shaking the entire area and tripping Ashuraman up, causing him to stumble towards the tornado and suck him into it.

Goro then leapt into the tornado to get to Ashuraman. The two were carried into the middle of the tornado, being raised higher and higher as they started punching each other. Goro grabbed Ashuraman's head and started to squeeze it, trying to crush his head.

Goro: You fought well, but here is where you die with honour.

Ashuraman clutched Goro's arm with his six arms and started to pull. Ashuraman's skull started to cave in and Goro's arms started to be ripped from his shoulders. Soon, Ashuraman swung his arms outward, pulling Goro's last remaining arms off just as the tornado launched them out of the top.

Now in a free fall, Ashuraman grabbed onto the side of Goro's head while holding him above his own head. The two were falling to the ground with Goro having no way to right himself.

Ashuraman: Ultimate Ashura Buster!

Once Ashuraman landed, Goro's head slammed against the top of Ashuraman's helmet, instantly splattering against it and killing him instantly. The blood that was in Goro's head coated Ashuraman's head and face.

Ashuraman threw Goro's armless and headless body aside. He threw his arms up into the air to the applause of every Devil Chojin in the seating area.

Results[]

K.O.

Ashuraman continues to be bathed in applause as Shao Kahn and his army walk through a portal in the background.

Boomstick: Man, Mortal Kombat and wrestling might be the most beautiful combination ever.

Wiz: Despite Goro's might and experience, he wasn't able to beat Ashuraman. Both Ashuraman and Goro actually had feats that were fairly comparable in terms of strength. While Goro was comparable to Shao Kahn who is able to fuse entire planets together, Ashuraman is comparable to Planetman who was able to move every planet in the solar system together to make a body-'

Wiz: -making Ashuraman multiple times stronger than Goro and that's without taking into consideration Burning Inner Strength or how Ashuraman has defeated people far stronger than Planetman.

Boomstick: But when it comes to speed, it's pretty clear cut, Goro can dodge lightning but Ashuraman can dodge light.

Wiz: A speed gap of over a thousand times, meaning that Ashuraman can blitz Goro before he could even blink.

Boomstick: And then there's how they fight, Goro's "martial art" is mostly just him throwing his weight, power around and four arms around but this really doesn't work against Ashuraman since he's stronger and has more arms so Ashuraman can just hold all of Goro's arms and beat him up with his spare two hands.

Wiz: Sure Goro is older and has a greater amount of fighting experience, however, this really doesn't matter because Ashuraman has managed to defeat Gods who have been around far longer than Goro has and also have magnitudes of more fighting experience.

Boomstick: And then there's the whole thing about his regeneration and Arm Stealing. Ashuraman can basically recover from most of the attacks that Goro can throw at him and might even be impossible for Goro to kill. And Ashuraman being able to grow newer and better arms pretty much means Goro's arm rip-off strategy really doesn't work, which Goro really can't do so he can be disarmed really easily the longer the fight goes on.

Wiz: While Goro's fighting experience went a fair ways to help him last as long as he could, Ashuraman's sheer power, speed and regeneration forced Goro to meet his end sooner rather than later.

Boomstick: Well, you gotta Hand it to Ashuraman, he really kept Goro at Arms length.

Wiz: The winner is Ashuraman.

Rei: "What colour is your blood?!"

Trivia[]

Connections:

  • Both Goro and Ashuraman are notable for having more arms than is standard for their settings.
  • Both are warrior princes from foreign realms.
  • Both are honour-bound and will always honour the one that beat them, even if it's their enemies.

Original Track[]

The original track for this episode would be called "Royal Arms". The name is a pun on the term arms being used to refer to weapons since both characters are known for their number of arms and royal being because the two are princes.

Q&A[]

Does Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) upgrades change the results?

  • Ignoring the fact that Goro is not in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023), it wouldn't change the outcome since Kinnikuman has universal feats and the additional power gained through Burning Inner Strength would grant Ashuraman the power advantage. Plus Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) doesn't give the series any faster speed feats.

Would you want to see these characters fight in an actual crossover?

  • Absolutely, though MK crossing over with a Japanese series is basically impossible.

How likely do you think this will become an actual Death Battle?

  • Considering Goro got an episode already and is very unlikely to get a second episode, it's absurdly unlikely.
