Yellow vs

Description[]

A battle between two Pokémon trainers that prioritize friendship above all else, to the point where a psychic bond has developed.

Please note that this is specifically a fight between this phenomenon. Ash will be as he is during the XY&Z saga and will only use Greninja, and Yellow will only use ChuChu.

Interlude[]

Wiz: When raising Pokémon, the most important thing is friendship.

Boomstick: And how! But sometimes, friendship turns into... um... psychic powers?

Wiz: Like Ash Ketchum, and his Greninja.

Boomstick: And Yellow Caballero of the Viridian Forest, and her Pikachu. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.

Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.

Ash Ketchum captures a spot in DEATH BATTLE![]

Wiz: On his tenth birthday, Ash Ketchum woke up, excited to start his Pokémon adventure with his very own Squirtle.

Boomstick: Unfortunately, he slept in and got stuck with a stupid Pikachu.

Wiz: But he made the best of a bad situation, gaining friends and a love for adventure and Pokémon like never before.

Boomstick: Eventually, his travels took him to France, er, Kalos, where he met a very interesting Pokémon indeed.

Wiz: It never seemed like much, just a young Froakie who never felt like it belonged with anyone, getting rejected by one potential trainer after another.

Boomstick: But upon meeting Ash, the two of them got along very well, and Froakie finally got to have a friend and a home.

Wiz: And upon evolving into a Greninja, he became a real force to be reckoned with.

Boomstick: Greninja can move faster than the eye can see, and can control water, shaping it into weapons, anywhere from kunai to swords to knives to his favourite choice yet, shurikens, all sharp enough to cut through solid rock.

Wiz: The two soon became very close, so close, in fact, that they were soon able to master a technique similar to, but not quite, Mega Evolution, known as the Bond Phenomenon, only ever having been seen once before, a long time ago.

Boomstick: Fuuuuuuuuu... siooon... HA! Uh... yeah, so, they were both very confused at first, but soon discovered they had the ability to synchronize their minds so much that they could fuse... and become Ash-Greninja. What a fantastic and creative name.

Ash: Ready, Greninja?

Greninja: Gekkou!

(The two fuse into Ash-Greninja)

Wiz: Upon finally mastering this form, they became incredibly powerful, eventually discovering that the phenomenon was in fact more powerful than actual Mega Evolution.

Boomstick: And Greninja's signature attack, Water Shuriken, changed into Water Fuma Shuriken, able to bust up way stronger foes.

Wiz: He can use double team to create illusory copies of himself, and use moves like Aerial Ace and Night Slash as powerful cutting techniques, or blast foes with huge torrents of water using Hydro Pump.

Boomstick: And he can sink into the shadows and reappear somewhere else for a sneak attack with Shadow Sneak, or protect himself with Mat Block, which he can also use to send opponents flying into the air.

Wiz: But what's a ninja without ninja tricks and traps? Like Spikes, which covers the ground in, well, spikes, or smokescreen. I'll let you figure that one out.

Boomstick: And substitute is perfect for getting your opponent to attack a decoy instead of the real thing. But once he's finally done messing around, Ash-Greninja busts out the ultimate technique: Super Water Fuma Shuriken.

Wiz: It turns a once-modest move into something absolutely ridiculous that can create massive explosions and huge tornadoes of water.

Boomstick: But that isn't to say the form doesn't come with its fair share of weaknesses, such as Ash being able to feel everything Greninja does, including pain, and if Greninja gets knocked unconscious or dies, so does he.

Wiz: Fortunately, Ash is willing to feel pain in order to win, but their power is heavily tied to the two's emotions, and they can lose power if even just one becomes unmotivated or depressed.

Boomstick: But that never stopped them for long. Ash Ketchum just keeps on trekkin' no matter what's in his way.

Ash: Pikachu, our lucky star is shining today!

Pikachu: Chaaaaa!

Yellow Caballero shocks the competition![]

Wiz: Viridian Forest, a common enough place for new Pokémon trainers to start their journey.

Boomstick: I hate that frickin' place. Too many Weedle.

Wiz: But such a serene place obviously holds a secret.

Boomstick: Magic forest! Woo hoooo!

Wiz: Every 10 years, the forest gives birth to a child possessing its power.

Boomstick: What.

Wiz: Not literally. Human parents, yada yada. The most recent of these children being Yellow Caballero, or Amarillo del Bosque Verde.

Boomstick: That little kid? What's so special about him?

Wiz: Not a him. Yellow's a girl.

Boomstick: Why does she look like a boy?

Wiz: Long story, something about a hat and magic feathers. As a child of Viridian forest, she possessed a great love and empathy for Pokémon, and loved spending time surrounded by the nature the forest provided.

Boomstick: But one day, she was attacked by a rampaging Dratini caused by a disturbance in the force.

Wiz: Er, sure... fearing for her life, she attempted to run, but tripped and fell. Utterly defenseless, she called out for help, but was prepared to die, only to be rescued by the one, the only, Red of Pallet Town.

Boomstick: He saved her life and gave her her first Pokémon, as well as a novel piece of advice: always treat Pokémon with love and kindness.

Wiz: And then, when Red went missing, she had to jump into action and save the day, with his Pikachu, Pika, by her side.

Boomstick: She got really good at using a Pikachu in battle, and invented all kinds of new techniques for it to use that had never been seen before.

Wiz: Of course, when she met up with Red, she gave Pika back. But she got a new Pikachu, ChuChu.

Boomstick: This thing is crazy strong! She can use electric attacks that rival even legendary Pokémon.

Wiz: ChuChu can use Substitute to make a copy of herself out of energy to fight alongside herself, or shape the energy into anything she wants, like balloons to fly, or a surfboard to cross water, or use quick attack to move blindingly fast.

Boomstick: But like any Pikachu, she can discharge massive amounts of electricity with techniques like Thunderbolt, or concentrate it into body parts for a Thunder Punch! Yellow even trained her to use a Pikachu's ultimate attack: Volt Tackle!

Wiz: And all this without mentioning Yellow's powers.

Boomstick: She has powers?!

Wiz: As a child of the forest, she possesses a psychic power that she can manifest as a very limited form of telekinesis, or an empathic bond with Pokémon.

Boomstick: She can telepathically communicate with any Pokémon, as well as read their minds, or drastically boost their power level!

Wiz: She has the ability to release pulses of energy from her hands that heal any Pokémon they touch, and even, once, a human.

Boomstick: Not to mention that she is crafty as hell. She can come up with seemingly endless strategies whenever one fails.

Wiz: But, she's anything but a master when it comes to battle. She often puts her Pokémon's safety above being able to actually win, despite her power to heal.

Boomstick: Not to mention that her powers tire her out pretty quick. She's fallen asleep mid-perilous-situation multiple times.

Wiz: She may not seem like much, but Yellow Caballero will fight until the bitter end for any cause she believes in.

Orm: Ha! These Pokémon are hilariously weak! Look at their levels!

Yellow: Don't be mean to my friends.

The Pokémon's levels increase by 60.

Orm: Wh-WHAT?

Death Battle[]

Ash, walking through Santalune Forest, notices a young "boy" in a straw hat playing with a Pikachu.

Yellow: This place sure is nice, huh, ChuChu?

ChuChu: Pi-ka!

Ash: Hey! Hey, you!

Yellow looks over at Ash.

Yellow: Oh, hello!

Ash: Do you want to battle? That Pikachu looks pretty strong!

Yellow: ChuChu, you wanna have a battle?

ChuChu nods excitedly.

Yellow: You're on!

Ash: Awesome! Pikachu, let's do thi-

Pikachu is seen by Ash's foot, fast asleep.

Ash: Oh, well, how about... Greninja!

Ash throws a Pokéball, and Greninja comes out. Greninja and ChuChu stare each other down with determined eyes, as Ash and Yellow do the same.

FIGHT!

Ash: Aerial Ace!

Greninja's leg glows a bright white, and it runs at ChuChu with incredible speed.

Yellow: Dodge it, ChuChu!

ChuChu narrowly avoids being hit by the attack by jumping out of the way, then, instinctively knowing what Yellow wants, lands a punch on Greninja with an electrified fist, though it seems able to shake off the attack quite easily.

Yellow: It's really strong! What is that?

She uses her powers to read Greninja's mind, learning about it.

Yellow: Greninja... it can control water, and use it to make weapons. It has incredible speed, and, wait, what's "the Bond Phenomenon"?

Yellow's train of thought is interrupted as ChuChu is hit by a Water Shuriken she wasn't paying attention to, then a swift kick to the midsection.

Yellow: Darn it, pay attention, Yellow! ChuChu, use Discharge!

Out of the air, ChuChu recovers and fires lightning everywhere around her.

Ash: Shadow Sneak!

Greninja seemingly disappears into a patch of shadows under a tree, then reappears behind ChuChu in midair, spiking her to the ground with a downward kick.

Ash: Hydro Pump!

Greninja fires a huge jet of water at a wide-eyed ChuChu.

Yellow: ChuChu, jump! Use Thunderbolt!

ChuChu barely manages to get out of the way of the water, then fires a bolt of lightning into the stream, electrocuting Greninja, causing him to fall down. ChuChu runs back to Yellow, who picks her up and pets her, healing her as she does so.

Ash: You'd better believe we aren't done!

A veil of water envelops Greninja as a mysterious arch of orange and blue light appears between Ash and Greninja. As the water changes into a giant shuriken on his back, Greninja is now Ash-Greninja.

Yellow (incredulously): What on earth just happened?!

Ash-Greninja now suddenly starts running, vanishing as he does so.

Yellow: What? Where is it? It's too fast!

He begins attacking ChuChu over and over with kicks, Night Slashes, and swords made of water, moving too fast to be fought off by her.

Yellow: ChuChu! Use Substitute!

ChuChu creates a copy of herself, which slams Ash-Greninja back with its tail before getting cut in half by an Aerial Ace. Ash-Greninja kicks ChuChu one last time, sending it flying toward Yellow and crashing into her, knocking her down. Yellow starts to cry.

Yellow: ChuChu... no...

Her sadness turns to rage, and ChuChu wakes up, fully healed and glowing with an aura resembling orange fire. ChuChu charges at Ash-Greninja with blinding speed, landing a firm Volt Tackle on its chest and knocking it into a tree. Ash is noticeably quite hurt by this, and falls down. ChuChu uses Substitute again, causing another copy to appear, running alongside her at Ash-Greninja. Both use Volt Tackle, and crash into him, completely vapourizing him. Yellow looks at what happened, confused. A Water Fuma Shuriken flies out from behind the brush, and hits ChuChu. Ash-Greninja, along with several other doubles, jump into the air and all fire a Hydro Pump at once. Yellow, reading his mind, instantly knows which one is real, and ChuChu and her Substitute dodge the blast, only for the real one to meet them on the ground and begin swirling a vortex of water around them. ChuChu gets lifted off of her feet, but the sub doesn't seem to mind, and headbutts him in the stomach. Now free, ChuChu begins hitting Ash-Greninja with tail attacks again and again in conjunction with the Substitute. Ash-Greninja jumps back and takes the shuriken from his back. He holds it up, and all of his doubles fly into it, making it grow huge.

Ash: WATER... SHURIKEN!!

Ash-Greninja throws it at ChuChu, but her sub jumps in front of her, changing shape to become a giant, protective wall, on which the giant shuriken explodes, sending out huge gushes of water that get deflected back at Ash and Greninja off of the wall, pelting them with a downpour.

Ash: Not done yet! Night Slash! Again and again!!

Ash-Greninja takes another shuriken off his back and breaks it into two blades, which turn black. He starts slashing wildly at ChuChu, who is more or less able to dodge every attack with ease. At this point, the two are invisible to the naked eye, and Yellow is having trouble keeping track of what is happening, even with her mind-reading. She holds out a hand toward Greninja and sends out waves of energy, which hit him, drastically slowing his movements and making him tired. Ash gets noticeably more sluggish, too, but slaps himself in the face a couple of times to snap out of it.

Ash: This is it! Final attack! Here, we either win or lose!

Ash-Greninja takes his shuriken from his back and starts spinning it around above his head, as a huge tornado of water forms around him, with glowing orange swirls passing through it. Yellow reads Ash's mind, and sees a giant orange Super Water Fuma Shuriken coming toward ChuChu and her. She clenches her fists and her body sends out huge pulses of energy at ChuChu, energizing her past the point of a normal Pikachu's attainable strength, before her Pokéball levitates toward her and she goes inside, as Yellow telekinetically fires her inside at the vortex, charging up power inside the ball, before being released into the middle of it. Caught inside, spinning around uncontrollably, she takes aim at Ash-Greninja and fires a gigantic stored-up bolt of lightning, electrifying the entirety of the water, and fully disintegrating Greninja's body, and, as a result, Ash's. As the tornado fades away and ChuChu lands safely on the ground, Yellow falls over, asleep. ChuChu runs over to her, tucks herself under her arm, snuggles up to her body, and falls asleep too.

K.O.

Yellow and ChuChu are seen asleep on the ground, as Ash's blackened hat falls to the ground, landing next to them.

Analysis[]

Boomstick: No way! That little girl with a Pikachu actually won?!

Wiz: As surprising as it may seem, Yellow, despite being at a number of disadvantages, was actually exactly what was needed to take down Ash.

Boomstick: Not only does ChuChu have the type advantage over Greninja, her and Yellow frankly have all the benefits of the Bond Phenomenon without any of the drawbacks.

Wiz: They could still become incredibly strong with Yellow's power-boosting, and communicate telepathically with Yellow's telepathy.

Boomstick: Greninja might be faster than Pikachu, but Yellow can read its mind to know what it will do before it acts to get out of the way. She can even read Ash's mind, since he's sharing it with Greninja.

Wiz: And with his signature think-outside-the-box strategy being exposed, he really didn't stand much of a chance.

Boomstick: What really hurt him is that he takes all the punishment Greninja does, and yet has no apparent sense of self-preservation.

Wiz: Now, I know what you're thinking. Pikachu is far more frail than Greninja. It only has to land a couple of hits to win. And that's true, but Yellow had ways around that, too. First of all, Yellow can heal ChuChu with her powers whenever she wants.

Boomstick: Not to mention that ChuChu's trusty Substitute technique was perfect for just about anything. It can be a decoy, or a helper in battle, or it can shapeshift into whatever form ChuChu needs, really. Plus, it's made of energy that has been specifically stated to repel water, Greninja's primary weapon.

Wiz: But Ash still has one way to win: the Super Water Fuma Shuriken. If he gets to land this, he wins. The only thing is, it takes a while to use, and while it's charging, he's surrounded by very conductive water.

Boomstick: But while charging, he can shrug off any attack from the outside. Yellow needs a way to get ChuChu inside the vortex, and fortunately, she has telekinesis. It may be limited, but one thing we can see it do is move a Pokéball into the exact right spot.

Wiz: Yet again, you may say that Ash Ketchum can't be killed by electrocution, as his own Pikachu electrocutes him all the time. This is also incorrect. Not only is ChuChu stronger than Ash's Pikachu, but Ash's Pikachu is never trying to seriously injure him. As well, in the episode, The Tower of Terror, Pikachu, startled, does in fact kill both Ash and himself with a full-force shock after being hit by a chandelier that fell.

Boomstick: And don't start talking about Ash's aura-manipulation abilities. He hardly uses that, and only once did he ever use it in an actual offensive way, with help from Aaron's gloves.

Wiz: And Yellow may have a tendency to pass out at inopportune times, but she always makes sure to finish the battle she's currently in before doing so.

Boomstick: It may be quite the shock, but Yellow has exactly what she needs to pull ahead.

Wiz: The winner is Yellow Caballero.

Yellow is seen fast asleep in Red's arms.
