Asagi VS Monika is a what-if Death Battle by Unbacked0. It features Asagi from the Makai Wars series and Monika from the Doki Doki Literature Club series in a battle.
Description[]
Makai Wars VS Doki Doki Literature Club! A battle between two cursed high school girls, forced out of the spotlight and will destroy everything to get back in.
Introduction[]
Wiz: Life can be cruel and usual at seemingly random to anyone who still lives.
Boomstick: Especially if you're a fictional character who knows they exist just to suffer, like Asagi, the eventual main character of Makai Wars.
Wiz: And Monika, a side character from Doki Doki Literature Club.
Boomstick: He's Wiz, and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
Asagi[]
Wiz: On the 17th of March, 2005, game development company Nippon Ichi Software would release one of their typical Strategy Role-Playing Games, Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome. As a part of their marketing strategy in the game, the player would be able to unlock a bonus battle against the protagonist of Makai Kingdom's sequel, Makai Wars named Asagi.
Boomstick: And if there was ever a more unlucky game protagonist to ever exist, it'd be her.
Background:
- Name: Asagi
- Age: 17?
- Role: Protagonist of Makai Wars (cancelled)
- Likes: Herself, Cheating
- Dislikes: Any other game protagonist
- Permanently trapped in a digital multiverse.
Wiz: Yes, Makai Wars would be delayed constantly, going from a PSP release to a PS3 release until it went radio silent forever, never to be released.
Boomstick: You'd think this would end her story but Asagi lived on.
Wiz: Asagi is part of a multiverse that is filled with beings that are entirely aware that they are video game characters, causing Asagi to become confused about her missing game and eventually angry.
Boomstick: And because of that, she went around to other games made by her game devs so she could kill their heroes and take over their game, making it the new Makai Wars. And since she lives in a multiverse where destroying entire planets is normal, she had to have some skills to beat them.
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Stats
- Mastery of Guns
- Flight
- Energy Projection
- Game Hacking
Wiz: Despite being a quote-on-quote, normal human, Asagi is strong enough to battle with the best of them. She can casually fly through the air and even shoot beams of energy so powerful that they can wipe out a majority of a planet in a single shot.
Boomstick: But the real beauty is her guns. Asagi has a small army's worth of guns and demon-killing tools in her back pocket at all times. From her signature dual pistols, her big fuck-off laser cannon, a portable mine launcher, shotguns, chainsaws, drills and even eggplants when you just want to slap someone with a phallic fruit.
Wiz: And that's not even her weirdest abilities. Asagi has free access to go into her own game's code and rewrite it however she wants. She's used this to turn herself into a ghostly party member and even cheat by manually increasing her levels to become stronger instead of grinding for experience points.
Boomstick: Poor Asagi, doesn't she know that cheaters never win.
Wiz: At this point, I don't think there's any fair play that can help her considering she's on the biggest losing streak in gaming history.
Weapons & Equipment:
- Prinny Suit
- Innocents
- Battleship Yoshitsuna
- Fear the Great
Boomstick: After decades of losing constantly, Asagi decided to get some upgrades, like buying a frickin' battleship.
Wiz: The Battleship Yoshitsuna is a giant spaceship that Asagi can pilot, complete with a giant laser cannon that can wipe out entire planets and even be used to carve Asagi's signature onto a planet's atmosphere. While Asagi sometimes has her loyal fans piloting it, she has shown to be able to do it on her own.
Boomstick: She also has a Prinny mascot suit, complete with walking mini-bombs and an explosive device if anyone gets too close. Shame about the bomb in the suit that explodes in three minutes, hate it when that goes off.
Wiz: An obvious design flaw for one of Asagi's many obviously flawed plans. In terms of her less flashy weapons, Asagi has a collection of Innocents, small living creatures that live in every one of her items and can be used to give her many resistances.
Boomstick: She's got ones that prevent fire, ice and wind damage, ones that prevent status effects like paralysis, being small, being mute, being mind controlled and having your emotions messed with. Ah, just what a teenage girl would do.
Wiz: But her greatest weapon is Fear the Great, an entire pocket dimension made by God to eradicate planets with too much negative energy. Somehow Asagi had so many negative emotions that she became the new host and controlled the entire thing, using it to wipe out the old multiverse in exchange for a new multiverse where she was the main character. Asagi can also use it to drag people there, use its powers to erase beings from existence and even make shadowy beings from her own malice to fight for her.
Boomstick: This is beginning to feel more and more overkill but I guess if your normal shtick doesn't work after ten years, then you gotta get better.
Feats:
- Fought on par with Laharl, Valvatorez, Killia and Zetta.
- Destroyed the Earth with an energy beam.
- Siezed control over Fear the Great.
Wiz: Asagi is absurdly fast and strong, on her own, Asagi was able to fire a laser from her hand that destroyed an entire planet.
Boomstick: And that's on her weaker days, she's fought against Overlords like Laharl, Valvatorez and Zetta, all of which were able to take hits from the multiverse erasing Fear the Great.
Wiz: The NIS Multiverse is vast and interconnected, meaning that statements about its size in one game can be accurately applied to every other game. In games like The Witch and the Hundred Knight and Labyrinth of Galleria, it has been stated that the multiverse contains an infinite amount of parallel universes with the number growing with every decision as the Many Worlds Theory suggests. Meaning that Asagi has the power on par with those who can destroy an infinite multiverse.
Weaknesses:
- Is cursed so that Makai Wars will never be released.
- Her Prinny Suit will blow up after three minutes.
- Is borderline delusional due to her loses.
Boomstick: You'd think having the ability to warp reality on a multiversal level, have a battleship that can wipe out planets and have an armoury that rivals most countries would make you unstoppable, but Asagi's been stopped more times than she'd like to admit.
Wiz: Asagi is so cursed that in Disgaea 4, she was the only character to keep her old generation sprite instead of getting a high-quality sprite. As it turns out, your chances of winning are low when you're an eternal joke to your writers.
Boomstick: But Asagi will keep on going until she finally gets Makai Wars to be a real game.
Wiz: I mean, Makai Wars got released as a mobile gacha game.
Boomstick: Somehow that's worse.
Monika[]
Wiz: On the 22nd of September, 2017, the mysterious Metaverse Enterprise Solutions company, in their efforts to research the simulation theory, would create a Virtual Machine in one of their computers to run a highly advanced simulation in the form of a visual novel called Doki Doki Literature Club.
Boomstick: This game would have three love interests, the sweet Sayori, the quiet Yuri and the tsundere Natsuki.
Wiz: However, there was one more character in the game that wasn't a love interest for the player who was a part of the game's setting, her name is Monika.
Background:
- Full Name: Just Monika
- Age: 18
- Role: Club President of the Literature Club
- Likes: The Player, Poetry
- Dislikes: Drama, Internal Politics
- Permanently trapped in a digital hellscape.
Boomstick: Monika was just your average dating sim character who watched from the sidelines
Wiz: The Metaverse Enterprise Solutions wanted to see how a fictional character would handle control over their own universe and the knowledge of their existence as nothing but a game character.
Boomstick: As it turns out telling someone that their entire life is a lie and they're trapped in an endless time loop forever, might break someone emotionally.
Wiz: Monika was forced to sit back and watch as her three friends found love before forgetting everything. Eventually, Monika would have enough and try to find her own happiness with someone real, even if she had to break everything to do so.
Powers and Abilities:
- Fourth Wall Awareness
- Resurrection
- Fire Manipulation
- Pixel Based Transmutation
- Teleportation
- Game Hacking
Boomstick: And being in control of her entire world gives her some crazy powers.
Wiz: Aside from the knowledge that she and everyone she has ever known are soulless automatons made by a collective of uncaring mortals, Monika has various abilities tied to her unique existence. She can teleport anywhere within the game, perform minor alterations to her body, generate intense flames, transform others' faces and entire bodies into a mess of pixels and distort the vision of others.
Boomstick: And if someone were to kill her, Monika's very existence is tied to her game, even if she gets erased, she'll still be around and willing to put up a fight with her abilities intact.
Wiz: All of this is tied to Monika's greatest ability, her ability to alter the code of her world.
Game Hacking:
- Emotion & Memory Altering
- Power Nullification
- Time Manipulation
- Code Erasure
- Game Shut Down
Boomstick: Monika can just open up the source file for her game and just rewrite the code like the novice programmer that she is.
Wiz: In the world of Doki Doki Literature Club, the world is governed by code with each person having a specified character file that Monika is able to freely edit. With this code editing, Monika is able to edit a person's memories and emotions with even minor alterations making someone suicidal or even manically insane, she was even able to render Natsuki unconscious by editing her body to be malnourished and making her pass out instantly.
Boomstick: Monika can mess with your body and mind in so many creepy ways that you don't even want to think about and she can even just fully delete your file, erasing someone from the game with even a full reset not being able to save you.
Wiz: Monika's powers are so great that she is able to erase a player's control over the game, erase all sense of time within the game and even fully prevent anyone else with Monika's abilities like how Sayori was given the same abilities as Monika had.
Boomstick: And if things get dire enough, Monika can just delete the entire game, killing everyone and anything inside of it, sure this kills her too but she'll still be around and if the game ever gets restored, then Monika comes back as good as new.
Feats:
- Drove her friends insane until they died.
- Continued to move around after time was erased.
- Fully destroyed Doki Doki Literature Club.
Wiz: This is impressive because, despite Doki Doki Literature Club only being a game to us, it is actually a full universe with multiple save files acting as separate timelines, and Monika was able to casually erase them all as she was in a state of nonexistence.
Boomstick: By counting how many saves the player can make, Monika can delete at least fifty timelines just by changing some code, scary shit.
Wiz: And while Monika might not be thought of as a character who has any impressive speed feats, she was able to successfully move around in a place where time did not exist. Obviously, we need time to move, it's a law of the universe, however, Monika was able to keep moving as normal, a feat that would put her at infinite speeds.
Weaknesses:
- Is only physically as strong as an average teen.
- Her code editing can have disastrous unforeseen side effects.
- Her signature abilities only work inside of Doki Doki Literature Club.
Boomstick: Despite all these genuinely impressive showings, Monika isn't exactly perfect. In a hand-to-hand fight, Monika is only as strong as your average teenager, so not exactly the strongest character we've ever covered on this show.
Wiz: Aside from her physicality, Monika's coding ability isn't exactly up to snuff. The main reason Doki Doki Literature Club started to fall apart was mostly because Monika's coding skills broke the entire game, she didn't even mean to destroy her friends' minds when she edited their files. Monika's ability to edit is based on the existing character files, meaning that Monika likely can not edit someone who doesn't have a file and her powers won't exist outside of her game.
Boomstick: And that's not even mentioning how being trapped in a virtual hellscape, forced to live the same number of days over and over again might have pushed her to the edge of insanity to the point that she'd rather erase everything than go through it all again.
Wiz: Mental state aside, Monika is truly a unique being placed in an unwinnable situation, while it might be easy to call her a villain based on her actions, she was only a teenage girl trying to seek happiness in a world that would not allow it to her.
Pre-Fight[]
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, and we've run the data through all possibilities. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Boomstick: It's time for a DEATH BATTLEEEEE!!!
Fight[]
The scene opens in the halls of the school inside of Doki Doki Literature Club, Asagi walks down the halls, examining all of the assets within the game.
Asagi: "This game could look better but it's already popular so it's an ideal base for my debut."
Asagi said as she was making a frame with her hands, looking through it with one of her eyes. Asagi then turns to face one of the classroom doors.
The scene then cuts inside the classroom, the main three girls, Natsuki, Sayori and Yuri are inside talking to each other until they are all caught off guard by a sudden impact against the classroom door. After a few seconds, the door opened, revealing Asagi who was clutching her foot, clearly having just kicked the door to try and open it.
Asagi: "Stupid door..."
Asagi grunted as she let go of her foot and walked over to the three NPC in front of her.
Natsuki: "Excuse me, can we help you?"
Natsuki asked, not really knowing what else to say about the strange girl who just walked in. Asagi looked up and down each of the three, noting their similar uniforms and different body types.
Asagi walks up to Yuri and stands on her tiptoes, still falling a few inches short of Yuri's height.
Yuri: "Ummm..."
Yuri was more than a little confused about why this mysterious new girl was standing directly in front of her. After a few seconds of comparing their heights and thinking about it, Asagi began to speak to Yuri.
Asagi: "I'm not exactly fond of being a shrimp next to a side character but I suppose you can stay if we don't share too many scenes."
Asagi spoke as she lowered off her tiptoes and walked away.
Asagi: "I don't know what type of game "Doki Doki Literature Club" is, but I think this can be a mean SRPG, a bit of rebranding and name changes, thinking Makai Wars, and it'll be an even bigger smash hit. You understand what I'm saying, right?"
Asagi turned to face the three girls, however, all of them were completely frozen, not moving an inch down to their hair being stuck mid-motion.
Asagi walked over to them and knocked her fist against them as if she was knocking on a door.
Monika: "Might I ask why you're here?"
A voice came from behind Asagi, she turned to face and saw another schoolgirl wearing the same uniform.
Asagi: "My name is Asagi, and I am here to claim your game for myself."
Asagi casually spoke to Monika, not intending to make an enemy of any non-protagonists.
Monika: "You want to be the protagonist of this game, I wouldn't want to be the hero of this game but if you want it, I don't really mind if you play hero."
Monika thought back on all of the terrible experiences she had, the countless time loops that forced her into a sense of isolation away from all of her friends. After thinking about all this, Monika realised something, Asagi was exactly like her, meaning she'd probably keep her mind throughout the resets.
She'd be Monika's only true friend.
Monika: "I-In fact, I'd think you'd be a great hero."
Monika tried to hide her excitement over getting a new friend.
Asagi: "I'm glad you're being so normal about this whole "fourth-wall breaking" nonsense. Now show me where the protagonist is, I need to fill him with enough holes that they don't "respawn"."
Asagi said as she drew her two pistols and twirled them around, getting ready to fight off wherever the protagonist was.
This caught Monika off guard, the sudden burst of violence directed toward the avatar that connected Monika to her love in the outside world. Monika turned her head to the ground as Asagi walked past her.
When Asagi walked out the doorway, the door slammed shut, and Asagi barely avoided being crushed.
Monika: "It's a shame you're such a violent person, you aren't welcome in this world."
Monika was preparing her game-altering power to beat Asagi as effectively as possible.
Asagi: "Ha, it'll take more than you to stop me."
Asagi pointed her two pistols at Monika, ready to gun her down.
Fight!
Asagi pulled the trigger on her two pistols, shooting a hail of bullets at Monika. Rather than dodging or blocking, Monika stood there and accessed the game's files.
Delete_Asagi_Fired_Pistol_Bullets.png
Before Asagi's eyes, she saw all of the bullets she shot disappear completely, not a single one came in contact with Monika. Asagi stomped her foot in frustration as Monika spoke.
Monika: "Such violent toys, you shouldn't bring them here or you might get in trouble."
Monika said as she tilted her body forward.
Asagi: "Ugh, you talk too much."
Asagi spat back.
Monika: "Well, I am from a visual novel."
Monika said with a smirk.
Asagi responds by pulling her guns back up her sleeves and pulling out her massive morning star. She swung it around in the air, gaining speed as it twirled in the air before Asagi swung it towards Monika's location. It flew to Monika, the large spiked ball completely covered her body before slamming into the wall, seemingly crushing Monika.
Asagi: "Ha, yes!"
Asagi cheered, thinking that she won.
Monika: "Over here."
Monika spoke, revealing her new position behind Asagi. The sudden sound made Asagi leap forward and turn to face Monika.
Monika: "Hey, do you smell something burning?"
There was a small amount of smoke filling the air as Monika pointed at the back of Asagi's large coat. There was a small fire which quickly spread, causing Asagi to panic and throw the jacket to the floor, all of Asagi's weapons dropped out of Asagi's coat and spread across the floor. Monika could see all of Asagi's guns, explosives and her stanger weapons like a large drill
After stomping the flames out, Asagi raised her hand up to the ceiling and fired a laser from the palm of her hand. The laser blasted a hole through the ceiling and out the top of the school before raining back down, blowing up large portions of the school with some of them heading towards Monika.
Monika saw all of the lasers coming towards her and thought fast, she accessed her code editor and tried deleting as many lasers as possible.

Monika couldn't keep up and eventually, she had to teleport away, completely disappearing from Asagi's sight.
Asagi: "Hiding won't help you."
Asagi shot a beam into the sky.
From the distance, Monika, who had teleported into the gym of the high school, saw the beam shining into the sky. Monika was looking through the files of the game, trying to find where Asagi's character file was so she could start to deal some real damage, however, she was having issues.
Monika: "Seriously, who organises files like this?"
Asagi wasn't a part of the game originally so her file wasn't where the other character files were, on top of that there were tons of other files related to Asagi, from her various weapons to sound and sprite data, that had been added to the game, bloating the number of files and making it difficult for Monika to tell which file was important to disarming Asagi and which was just a pointless asset.
As Monika was working, she saw a shadow engulf the area. Looking out the window, Monika saw a gigantic space battleship in the air, the front of it pointing towards the ground before it started to glow. The main cannon on the bow of the ship was charging up and Monika started to worry until she saw Asagi on the ship.
Asagi was standing near the cannon of the ship, waiting for the battleship Yoshitsuna to blast the high school and Monika into oblivion. Before this could happen, Monika teleported to the top of the ship, standing aside Asagi.
Monika: "Don't you think this is a bit extreme? Didn't you want to become this game's hero?"
Monika said, trying to calm Asagi down.
Asagi: "If I get what I want then I don't mind being the hero of a post-apocalyptic world!"
Asagi said as the cannon was readying to fire.
Monika: "I have friends down there so I'm sorry but I'm taking your toys away from you."
Monika said as she prepared to delete Yoshitsuna from the game's files.
Delete_Yoshitsuna.chr
As soon as the code went into effect, Yoshitsuna completely disappeared from underneath their feet, causing the two girls to fall back to the high school grounds. Monika teleported down to the classroom she would have fallen in but Asagi fell straight down before flipping and landing on her feet.
Monika: "Now that should teach you some restrain..."
As Monika was lecturing, Asagi rolled over to her discarded guns and partially burnt coat and picked up her shotgun before quickly firing in Monika's direction. From the distance it was fired at, the shotgun didn't land all of its spread of bullets, however, a number of them hit Monika's legs, causing her to fall to her knees, clutching her wounds.
Monika: "GAH!"
Monika yelled out as Asagi stood over her, ready to shoot her again.
Asagi: "Oh that's sick! Hahahaha..."
Asagi's laughter started to fade as her sight became hazy and she felt her stomach start to bring up her lunch. Asagi covered her mouth with her offhand while holding onto her shotgun with her dominant hand.
Monika: "How's that taste?"
Monika said as Asagi tried to stop herself from throwing up. Through barely opened eyes, Asagi tried to shoot Monika with a shotgun with her one hand, however, she missed.
Now that Asagi was open, Monika took the chance to get rid of Asagi's shotgun.
Delete_Asagi_Shotgun.png
Disarmed and disoriented, Monika stands up and snaps her fingers to mess up Asagi's superhuman body. Monika snaps her finger and points at Asagi, corruption travels along the ground, until it reaches Asagi, crawling along her body and completely enveloping her.
Monika: "How's the feel?"
Monika turns around, away from the cocoon of corrupted game assets, thinking she won. Suddenly, a laser beam shoots from behind Monika, shooting a small hole through her torso.
Monika turned around and saw Asagi standing there, however, the corruption had clearly affected Asagi, her entire body being rendered as an older 16-bit sprite instead of her original high-quality model.
Asagi: "Don't think I'll go down like one of your game's characters."
Monika was more than a little surprised by Asagi's appearance. In a panic, she pointed at Asagi, making a ton of flames burst around Asagi's body to burn her alive.
Asagi: "Neat trick. Let me show you mine."
Delete_Fire.gif
With this code, all of Monika's fire disappeared along with their negative effects, frustrating the injured Monika.
Asagi: "And now, I'll show you just how it's done."
MKW_Asagi.chr level*9999
After this code was put in place, Asagi's level grew and grew drastically, making her far stronger. In the blink of an eye, Asagi quickly flew over to Monika and punched her, launching her against the wall of the classroom.
Asagi: "And now, it's time for you to go bye-bye."
Asagi said as she inserted the last bit of code to erase Monika from the game.
Delete_Monika.chr
As Asagi pressed, Monika's body began to glitch out for a bit.
Monika: "Heh, this isn't your game..."
Monika spoke, the glitching fading away and her body healing from all of the injuries. Monika had used her powers to negate Asagi's attempt to edit her game.
Monika: "It's mine!"
Monika was now completely in control and used her powers again to finish off Asagi.
Delete_MKW_Asagi.chr
Asagi's body started to break apart and fade away, being deleted by the game itself. Asagi turned around, clutching her chest as the effects of her erasure were taking hold.
Asagi: "No... This isn't... Happening..."
Asagi started to speak quietly, building up her own strength.
Asagi: "I ain't dying here!"
Asagi yelled as bright light started to envelop her. The light would grow in intensity until it blinded Monika.
The light started to die down, letting Monika see around her and what she saw shocked her completely. She was now standing in a mysterious location made up of blue stone monoliths, her feet standing on a path made of faint light leading to a cloud-covered plateau with a large gloving skull shape being visible in the clouds. She was now in Fear the Great, Asagi's domain.
Monika: "What... Where... I am?"
Monika was terrified, she could tell she wasn't inside the Doki Doki Literature Club game anymore. Instead, she was in an unknown hellish environment. Asagi steps next to Monika and speaks.
Asagi: "Oh, this is just a weird multiversal cleansing device made by God. Yeah, it's weird I know, but whatever works."
After hearing what Asagi said, Monika stumbled backwards, backing up right near the edge of the path down to an immense fall with Monika barely stopping herself from falling. Monika stares back at Asagi, trying to comprehend how this could all be fake.
Monika: "That... Just... You're just making stuff up!"
Monika was struggling to even understand what Asagi saying.
Asagi: "It doesn't matter if you believe me, but I guess you should probably hope this doesn't hurt too much."
Asagi raised her hand and pointed it toward Monika. From the light path, black globs started to form and sprout out of the ground. The globs started to form into dark clones of Monika who all reached out to her.
Monika: "Hey, stay away from me!"
Monika yelled out, trying desperately to pull up her command input so she could erase the beings from getting her, however, it wouldn't appear.
The clones latched onto every inch of Monika, restraining her before pulling her into the ground. As Monika sank, her body started to fade from the bottom, starting at her feet until eventually her entirely lower body was gone
Monika: "This can't be happening... This isn't real!"
Monika panicked as her torso was pulled under, leaving only her head which was fully surrounded by dark clone hands, completely enveloping it until it completely disappeared, leaving no traces of Monika behind.
Asagi stood there smugly, completely alone in Fear the Great as she boasted about her victory.
Asagi: "Ha, now you know why I'm the multiverse's best protagonist."
Results[]
K.O.
Asagi teleports back to Doki Doki Literature Club, speaking to a confused Yuri, Sayori and Natsuki who were now unpaused.
Boomstick: Welp, I know what my nightmares are going to be for the next month.
Wiz: Given these two's interesting abilities and meta abilities, this fight was very, very complicated.
Boomstick: Yeah, let's start out with the most obvious thing, Monika wasn't winning any boxing matches against Asagi who was able to fight against multiversal threats and Monika can't even be described as superhuman so she wasn't winning from that angle, especially with all of Asagi's guns against Monika's bare hands.
Wiz: But this fight would never come down to strength or weapons but the two's abilities. Both could warp reality on a multiversal level and could move at incomprehensible speeds, however, Asagi held multiple notable advantages.
Boomstick: Asagi's a far better fighter who knows how to use her reality warping to help her in a fight whereas Monika has only used her powers against powerless humans. And sure Monika could stop Asagi from changing her game's code, but Fear the Great is much better at what Monika does and Monika couldn't stop that since it doesn't work by editing her game's code.
Wiz: At most, Doki Doki Literature Club has fifty timelines slash parallel universes that Monika has full control over, however, Fear the Great was able to affect an infinite amount of universes at once. That makes Asagi's reality-warping power infinitely greater.
Boomstick: There's also the fact that if Asagi teleported Monika into Fear the Great, then Monika would lose all of her powers since she only has control over her game, not whatever world she's in.
Wiz: There is the argument that Monika's regeneration and resurrection could allow her to come back from even Fear the Great, however, all this would mean is that Monika would be trapped in Fear the Great, unable to escape or kill Asagi since she has no powers there.
Boomstick: So she'd be trapped in a living Hell which is basically a loss since she isn't exactly going to win.
Wiz: And sure, it is possible that Monika could go nuclear and wipe out the game with Asagi in it before any of this, however, not only does this rely on Monika being in such a mental state that she'd wish to die, but since Asagi has dealt with attacks from multiversal beings and lived, Asagi would likely survive this too. In the end, while Monika had vast cosmic powers, she was a large fish in a small pond that couldn't comprehend the vast cosmic scale that Asagi operated on.
Boomstick: It looks like it was Game Over for Monika.
Wiz: Booo...
Boomstick: Ah, shut up...
Wiz: The winner is Asagi.
Winner: Asagi:
- + Far greater raw strength and durability
- + Could pull Monika out of her game to negate her abilities
- + Likely resist's Monika's character file deletion
- + Fear the Great is better than Monika's game hacking
- + Far greater weaponry
- = Likely equal speed
- - Monika could negate her code hacking
Loser: Monika:
- + Could negate Asagi's code hacking
- + Potentially could erase Asagi
- = Likely equal speed
- - No combat experience
- - Physically a non-threat to Asagi
- - Is powerless outside of her game
- - Fear the Great is better than Monika's game hacking
Next Time on Death Battle...[]
Kinnikuman: "I don't even need the push of my farts!"
Tiger Mask: "I want to become a tiger!"
Trivia[]
Connections:
- Both Asagi and Monika are teenage school girls who are aware they're in a video game.
- Both are spited by their creators (Asagi by never letting Makai Wars be made and Monika by granting her powers that trap her in an endless loop).
- Both aim to become the centre of attention in their games (Asagi by becoming the protagonist and Monika by becoming the main love interest).
- Both have the ability to manipulate their realities by hacking their game's code.
Original Track[]
The track for this fight would be called "Love and Wars". The name is based on Doki Doki Literature Club being a dating sim and the name Makai Wars.
Q&A[]
Should Asagi even have access to Fear the Great?
- Death Battle has their combatants at their strongest with their best weaponry unless it prevents access to their most notable abilities, since Asagi with Fear the Great is Asagi at her strongest, she should have access to it. Also, there is no proof that Asagi ever lost access to it.
Would you want to see these characters fight in an actual crossover?
- I'd like to see their abilities interact but maybe not in a fight.
How likely do you think this will become an actual Death Battle?
- Absurdly unlikely, I doubt either character has a chance of even getting an episode.
